As a side note to anyone. I am interested in "redoing" an old RP of mine. Only in Time Can Pain Fade... (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=395088) is the RP. Is anyone interested in participating? The outcome will more or less be the same but I want to go further into detail. My writing has evolved significantly since 2005 and I have a lot more backstory written about both Delaney and Kaliningrad that I had not gone into back then.

Notice the little thing called "aviation cruiser"? It's a fancy and PC name for light aircraft carrier with a fuckton of weaponry added. It's part of my new doctrine of defending the Realm first and foremost, which is a result of the IC political and military rethinking of just about everything following the loss of the bulk of the Cottish "empire", most noticably in India and Siberia and the fact that the population of Cotland went from over a billion to just over 110 million virtually overnight. Even with the reduced navy, we're still more than capable of keeping the Nerotikans and Russians contained in the Arctic Sea and Barents :P

Okay guise so my upgrade isn't over yet. I just ordered a 640gb SATA3 HDD and an external enclosure (for my current 200gb IDE that's coming out of my compy). Plus I am replacing my DVD-ROM and DVD-RW because they're spazzing (I push the button it just doesn't open, takes a few tries, budges a few times, just annoying).

Nice Layarteb, I wish I knew somebody that could build me a system to replace this POS I have now. My video card has a pregnant pause everytime something changes dramatically ingame. Plus my laptop died a horrible death due to fan failure and way too much COD 4. So I am forced to use a tower that is 7 years old via Dell. I am trying to play City of Hereos/City of Villians on it with marginal success. Still freezes up periodically. But all I need is cash to fix that problem right? LOL I digress.

Okay folks I have studied on how to RP the death of Wells out and I believe I have the concept and storyline crafted in my head how it should play out. Unfortunately school has started again and I am swamped this first week with unbelievable amounts of crap I have to do, so I don't forsee me starting a thread until this weekend. I used to hate it when teachers zeroed in on me and what not in HS but I guess I have to say, it was a good thing. I basically ruled the college classrooms, especially in political science because of all that stuff. Still though, it's fun to watch you guys suffer a little bit too. That's for all those pop quizzes and homework!

That is the beauty you don't need to know anything. Games are randomly generated by the host country. The results of the World Cup are random. All you have to do is supply the players names, positions, and RP some press releases or something along those lines. Heck just copy somone and swap the names for ones more native!

I was thinking of creating a NASCAR style league, HISCAR (Hirgizstanian Stock Car Auto-Racing). Everybody would be entitled to enter a car and driver etc. I have to look into a way to do the races fairly. Watch out in the near future for it.

Baseball scores are essentially like hockey and soccer so I figure you could still use NSFooty. Football too (just increase the score output).

In a way yes but you'll never have a blowout with it, which kind of sucks. Perhaps the code in the Scoreinator could be changed to accommodate football and baseball.

That's all you'd need to do- change the coding a little so that random scores get higher. You probably just need to readjust a number or line or two.

I think I might have a way of making the HISCAR wins fair. Does this sound viable/fair to you guys:

I link each number of a car to an RL NASCAR (and make it public to make it fair) and whoever wins the RL races at the weekend will decide who wins in my thread. So if I have a 22 Car paired with, say, the 88 car in RL, then if the 88 wins, the 22 wins in the thread. That sound fair?

In recent years, tobacco has, of course, become an industry associated with the ill-health that surrounds cigarettes. Unlike in some countries tobacco commercials on television are not banned in either the Commonwealth or the Empire, although in Hirgizstan they are only allowed on after 11pm at night and carry the same government warnings written on the bottom-front and back of the cigarette packets.

However, the two tobacco conglomerates do not merely produce cigarettes. Both have, since their inception, been dedicated to creating, manufacturing and marketing the finest tobacco products, from cuban cigars to pipe tobacco and from snus to snuff, the two companies produce a wide range of tobacco products ranging in price from the highly affordable to the prohibitively expensive.

Despite a more health conscious populace in both Hirgizstan and Layarteb, both companies posted record profits in the last FY, with Hirgizstan Tobacco’s profits soaring well above the NCN2 Trillion mark, and Philip Morris’ hovering around the same mark in Shingrots.

The merger of the two companies would allow them access to a combined population of around 6.5 billion people, as well as giving them a stronger overseas portfolio where another 10 billion people could be marketed to.

Warne and Shields joked at their press conference that the merger will leave other tobacco companies, particularly those overseas, quaking in their loafers. The joke elicited laughter from the assembled reporters and photographers but it will likely not have the same effect abroad, as Hirgizstan-Layarteb Tobacco will now produce more than half of the worlds supply of cigarettes, dwarfing companies in other countries by a large extent.

The knock-on effect for Layartebian and Hirgizstanian tobacco growers is expected to be nothing but positive, with several farming organizations welcoming and praising the merger.

Essentially the merger is a win-win for the Hirgizstanian and Layartebian business communities.

The company, now one of the largest in the world, will announce its plans over the next few weeks.

Well after one of the hardest non-hardware related crashes I've ever seen a computer do (that wasn't due to a virus or worm or malicious program) I have a new computer at work. Yes Tuesday morning my computer at work basically explodinated but I've got a replacement now (if only they let me keep the laptop).

Reminds me of those scenes during Hurricane Rita (I think) when it passed over Key West- despite *all* the warnings and evacuation orders there were a few idiots who thought they could party during the storm. I guess the only explanation I can give is that people think that if they can survive one hurricane they can survive them all. *shrugs*

A very proud and blessed person to reside in the only state that was a nation before it joined the union. (Of which I would go out on a limb and say we would probably be far better off in today's world if we would have stayed a Republic.)

Fellas every state has its resident dumbasses. We have our fair share for sure but by and large most folks evacuated when told to do so. The idiots that live on Galveston island are a special breed of dimwits that have there own set of ideals about things. They thought they were tough in the interviews BEFORE the thing hit then called and cried on the phone to the EOC operators to come get them about 1am when the eyewall made landfall. They were told tough, your on your own. I lived in Houston when Alicia hit and remember vividly the wind and snapped off pine trees that littered our neighborhood. My house was the popular one I had a generator and alot of camping gear, a portable cook stove, etc.

Ultimately if folks make the choice to stay that choice clearly had defined limits of assistance from the police, fire as some of the resident idiots found out the hard way last night. People get lulled into a false sense of security when so much time goes between events (Alicia '83, Ike '08). Unless you experience the fury first hand what you see on TV doesn't do the power displayed justice.

I have two relatives that decided to stay in Houston to ride this one out and they have all checked in safe and sound with me as of this evening. Heck one of them in West Houston already has power back on. I expect the other to be soon behind them since they are relatively close to the downtown area.

Property can always be replaced life cannot. If you gave the reason I am staying to protect my stuff, you truly don't understand the value of life.

FYI the eye passed about 7 miles east of my house today.

Though, I can respect the decision to stay back and protect your property, given the sore state of affairs with most of humanity, I must still affirm that anyone valuing property over human life is a fool. It is one thing to protect your property from looters and what not if you aren't necessarily in the direct path of the beast but if you are, chances are said looters will wind up a few counties anyway (and if you are still bold enough to do it, evac the family and accept your decision, you made it). Yes it was still was a category one when it passed over. The thing about looters folks need to understand in Texas is this. Our law enforcement officers are far different than the New Orleans cops. Those guys were left without support or any infastructure and the command structure imploded. Which forced the various precincts to in effect work alone. Houston Police Dept. is top notch and has a reputation of not taking crap off anybody. Plans have been implemented to avoid any mistakes like New Orleans suffered through. Extra officers from all across the state have been brought in to work security at various points to supplement the local's. We didn't have looting in '83 and we won't have any now. They issued a mandatory curfew this morning and believe me when I say this, if your caught outside stealing from people the morgue will be picking up your sorry carcass. HPD doesn't play. Galveston Island access is still closed, however the law is out in full force along with the State Guard. The news media is playing up the looting story for a story. If it does happen it will be spotty at best. Everybody here is armed, its a way of life. That's why terrorists avoid this state like the plague.

I saw some crackhead on CNN this morning complaining about them not coming to his rescue. The police need to go knock on his door this morning and pistol whip him, just for being an idiot. Then they need to pistol whip the seven other idiots that decided to stay with him in that tar paper shack they lived in. What also hampered New Orleans is that half of the police officers just vanished. Houston got a bad deal afterwards by taking in most of the refugees. Crime in Houston skyrocketed after Katrina as all of the gangsters and criminals fled there and brought their old life with them. I know a few years back Houston PD was having a crisis trying to figure out how to deal with the instant influx of crimes. Has this been solved?

Yes they do its called the Death Penalty Express Lane via the Walls Unit in Huntsville. HPD has done a good job dealing with the crime rate increase. They put them in jail, sent them home or sent them running to avoid prosecution. Louisiana has a great penal system where work is still done in the fields by hoe gangs, etc. but they don't execute very many. Our inmates aren't forced to work very much due to the Honorable or Dishonorable William Wayne Justice when he ruled against the state on prison conditions for inmates. The trade-off is you do a capital offense we guarantee you'll meet a swift end.

Yeah it depends where you are here some places it is pages, other places it is words. Generally you run between 400 and 500 words per page as a good base of comparison. Pages means like 8 - 12 pages and you're at like 7 and 2/3 pages but yet you've explained your point so well you really don't need that extra 1/3 but you need to reach the minimum. It would be like falling 100 words shy of your minimum and really having nothing further to add.

All politicians need to be supplied with a free air gauge so we can let out all the hot air. They can't accomplish half of what they promise and can't remember half of what they are supposed to do when they get to Washington, unless a lobbist reminds them via a hefty donation. The little man has been screwed out of the conversation for years. Doesn't it bother anyone else that the median income in Congress is $1 million outside of what they are paid by the government? It is not a fair representation of the people. "for the people" was lost many years ago, that's why I am probably going to write my own name in for president because I know I can do a better job than either of those clowns.

Welcome to my side of the field...you understand, though, that nothing "the people" do at the moment will change anything in the government, money speaks and if you dont have it your voice wont be heard. Once our money looses its value then, most likely, you'll see "The people" finally taking charge...unless we switch to the liberty dollar, then things would be alot more different.

The only thing that would stop him- or any other wannabe President- from being elected would be his ideas. However, we all know that there's no one that can match the power, organization and influence of the Democrats or Republicans, no matter how good their ideas might be. Therefore, it's better to think of the country being run by both parties (the textbook definition of an oligarchy) with us just choosing the one we like better.

I think the party system has run its course, and it just may be a better idea to just ban political advertising altogether (just promote the election- that's all you need). It shouldn't take me $1 million to get elected.

People never appreciate these things until you loose them. Here in Northern Ireland we have no democracy- we can't vote for the Government in Westminster and never have been able to. The people we can vote for can only rubber stamp what Westminster hands down and in any case they are all terrorists anyway.

I wouldn't want for a second to live in any other system (well, more democratic, but that doesn't exist yet), but to call our system a "democracy" is just a misnomer.

OSLO, COTLAND (VG): Due to recent developments in Europe, the Royal Ministry for Defense of the Realm has announced its plans to bolster the strength of the Armed Forces in Denmark and the Benelux region with further forces.

The Ministry for Defense reported in a statement today that they plan to raise and permanently deploy two armor-reinforced Seperate Brigades of 4 350 men each to Denmark, where they will supplement the already garrisoned 20 500 men of the 20. Infanteridivisjon, increasing the amount of standing combat personell in Denmark to 30 000.

Additionally, the Benelux region will reinforce the already existing 20 500 men of the 19. Infanteridivisjon with three armor-reinforced Seperate Brigades of 4 350 men each, increasing the garrison in Benelux to 34 000 men. The increase in personell will be handled through increasing annual conscription numbers slightly, alotting a further 10 000 conscripts per year to the Army's conscription ratio.

This increase in forces are a direct result of the twenty hour skirmish in late August which toppled the Rothsky Government, and has been given the seal of approval from the Storting after a heated debate behind closed doors.

VG has learned that the subsequent vote passed the proposal from the new government by a vote of 111-54 in favor, reaching the required 2/3 majority required by the Constitution for approving increases and decreases of the Armed Forces by a single vote.

The final seal of approval from the Palace was given by His Majesty last Friday in the weekly Council of State, paving the way for the Ministry for Defense to make the arrangements to raise the new brigades.

Defense analysts interviewed by VG report that the new brigades will probably include up to one hundred armored vehicles of the type CV9035, which is the standard armored personell vehicle in the Cottish Army, fifty to sixty tanks of the type M2032A1 Sabertooth, up to thirty artillery pieces of the type PzH-2000, and almost two hundred other assorted armored vehicles per unit.

The procurement cost for all-new equipment for one brigade is calculated by said defense experts to come to roughly K700 million per unit, although it is expected that the brigades will be issued surplus equipment already in storage, thus likely reducing costs.

The increases in the garrisons are expected to be fully completed and for the new units to be operational and combat ready within August next year.

With the new brigades, the Royal Cottish Army's peacetime combat strength is expected to total some 500 000 soldiers, with a further 300 000 troops in reserve.

Okay so I finally did the AGM-189 Orion air-launched ICBM. I had to reduce the overall warhead yield from 9 megatons to 5 megatons due to the weight/size of the 9 megaton warhead. I would have basically had to have a missile the size and weight of the Peacekeeper to keep that 9 megaton warhead. However, the 5 megaton warhead, modeled on that of the LIM-49A Spartan ABM allows for a missile just a little bit bigger and 21% heavier than the Minuteman III. I've kept the 3x MIRV 550 kT option as well.

Persons found to be supporting anti-state activities via finance or materials will be punished by death if said persons support led to the commission of an anti-state act, If person is discovered before said act is carried out said person will receive life imprisonment as will persons direct family. If the accused is a foreigner they will still receive their life imprisonment but their family will be deported immediately..all other persons from the same state of origin will then be subject to questioning and/or detainment/ visa's and passports may be revoked as well

Article IV Meeting corresponding

1. Any person found to be meeting or corresponding to any anti-state group is subject to all forms of interrogation as well as an automatic 28 year prison sentence all property and accounts seized..immediate family also subject to detainment and interrogation

The RL Icelandic team has only one good player (Eidur Gudjohnsen)- the rest are just part-timers. Inter is full of top-class professionals...who just have tendency not to play like that from time to time...*sigh*
