I am hereby announcing that I am giving up the Yukon and the northern half of British Columbia to Celtayoshi should he accept them. If not, I want them to go to new players.

Thanks.

EDIT- Cotland, I still have my Caucasian territories- Rostov, Volgograd, Daghestan, Kalmykia, Krasnodar, Voronezh, Belograd and Stravropol (I think that's "1"...I know I still have Stravropol). I just gave up Penza, Saratov, Samara and Orenburg.

Considering the rather dramatic turn of events in Russia with land swaps and what-not taking place this weekend, I took the liberty of making a little map that reflects the current political landscape in E2 Russia. Lay, if you want to use this as an official Russia map, go right ahead.

Nice map! Found the original and added it...

Contesting this, Rome. I did all the fighting in North Africa to obtain Algeria, Tunisia, etc. In turn I only got a piece of a slice of bread. Moreover, I'd like to discuss possessing one territory in Italy.

HAVANA: Hurricane Dean Tears Across Caribbean, Kills 14...

By Russell Jackson (LNN)

As Hurricane Dean bears down on the Yucatán as a category 5 storm, it leaves behind a terrible wake of destruction. A powerful Cape Verde hurricane, Dean has produced flooding and significant damage as far east as the Lesser Antilles.

Hurricane Dean struck the Lesser Antilles with no deaths but caused widespread power outages and shut down airports. Shelters saved many lives and coastal flooding was reported. The real wake of the damage is in Jamaica, where the eye of Dean, as a category 4 storm crossed south of the island on August 20. Many evacuation plans were put into place and the National Guard assisted. Thankfully there was enough warning and predication about the path of this storm and the few deaths consist of 8 police officers, 3 guardsmen, and 3 civilians, all in Jamaica.

Due to its size, Hurricane Dean has produced tropical storm-like activity off the Cuban coast although no warnings are in effect at this time or have there been. However, the Cayman Islands did receive a hurricane warning and is undergoing assessment now. There are widespread power outages there as well.

Now, as a category 5 storm, packing winds in excess of 160 mph with gusts over 185 mph, moving 20 mph west, Hurricane Dean looks to impact the Yucatán Peninsula in just a matter of hours. A significant evacuation protocol has been put into place. Thankfully, Dean missed a direct-hit on Jamaica but the Yucatán will not be so lucky. Many resisdents have been evacuated to shelters and contigency plans are in effect for during and post storm recovery. Mandatory evacuations have been put in place for any area with an elevation lower than the predicted storm surge, which is upwards of 18 feet.

Holy Republic eyes Dean

As the Category five Hurricane Dean slams into the Yucatan, Prime Minister Gordon Wells issued a standdown order for all the military and civilian assistance assembled in San Antonio. Upwards of five brigades of State Guard troops and 100 electric contractors were allowed to return home today.

PM Wells has placed the 5630th Air Logistics Wing stationed at Randolph AFB in San Antonio on notice they may be tapped to deliver humanitarian supplies to Pushkan Mexico if authorities there call for international help.

In other news, a strange story to tell about a dwarf and a vacuum cleaner after this brief commercial message..................

The Aftermath of Hurricane 'Dean'

CASTRIES (CFP): The Interior Ministry has canceled its hurricane warning for Saint Lucia and the tropical storm warning for Barbados, allowing the Civil Defense and many inhabitants that volunteered to assist in the preparations for Dean's arrival to return to their normal lives again.

Dean did not hit Barbados, sparing the island, but rather moved through the Saint Lucia Channel. As a result, Saint Lucia experienced 80 knot (90 mph, 145 km/h) winds which uprooted trees, downed electricity poles, disabled bridges, triggered landslides, and damaged several roofs. Victoria Hospital's pediatric ward lost its corrugated metal roof, but its patients had already been evacuated. The capital, Castries, was flooded by the storm surge and high seas deposited boulders and small boats on the streets. The island's banana sector was severely damaged, with several of the plantations waterlogged or outright destroyed. A 62-year old man drowned in Saint Lucia after being swept away in a rain-swollen river while trying to recover a cow.

The damages caused in Saint Lucia have been calculated to somewhere between fifty and two hundred million Rikskroner ($100 - 400 million USD), says the Interior Ministry in their statement, but claim it would have been far greater had it not been for the efforts of the Civil Defense, local law enforcement, military personnel stationed in Saint Lucia, and volunteers from the local community.

The Worst Is Over

By Russell Jackson (LNN)

Hurricane Dean has greatly reduced in strength from a powerful category 5 storm to a weak category 1 storm as it has re-entered water over the Bay of Campeche. It is not expected to gain much, if any strength, as it heads towards another landfall in Mexico.

In its wake it has caused thirteen Layartebian deaths and one Cottish as a various toll of people have died on Dominica, Hispanola, Jamaica, Martinique, Nicaragua, and Saint Lucia. Despite its powerful hit to the Yucatán Peninsula, it quickly weakened and preparedness saved countless lives. While damage is expected to be significant, especially along the coastal areas, the death toll is not expected to include any further Layartebian citizens.

Oil platforms are expected to resume normal operations immediately, pending damage assessment, although damages aren't expected to be as bad as predicted. Luckily, for the tourism industry, Cancún and Cozumel were spared most of the power of the storm, which had potential to decimate both cities. Chetumal, the capital of Quintana Roo, was heavily damaged by Dean. Current damage estimates exceed $5,000,000,000 but the damage bill is expected to rise after assessments are done throughout the region.

"No, there have been no offical comments as of yet from the TDF or Regenschirm, but eyewitnesses report seeing large groups of uniformed men in the area, shooting any people on sight, they do not seem to be TDF Personell or part of the Regenschirm Paramilitary Security, so it is assumed by the public that they are a part of some terrorist organization."

Dude, Irish invented bagpipes (we also invented whisky, but the Scots seem to have deluded themselves into thinking they did, and they believe bagpipes are their thing, when in fact they were invented in Ireland) but we don't wear kilts. Kilts are a purely Scottish thing, not Irish...so maybe they were Scots-Irish (although many in Ireland consider Scots-Irish to be complete BS, myself included).

Venerable Dingo APV & Bushmaster IMV to Retire from ILA, Marines
By Janice Pemberton

LAYARTEB CITY (LNN) - Earlier today, the Ministry of Defense announced a plan to retire all front-line Dingo APV and Bushmaster IMVs from active duty with the Imperial Layartebian Army and Marines. The vehicles, the Minister of Defense stated, "will remain in service with the Defense Forces and those vehicles that will be unused will go to surplus." Some will be sold to foreign countries, stripped for parts, placed in storage, to made legal to be sold to civilians. Several S.W.A.T. units have expressed interest in picking up some of these armored vehicles. This is being done to make way for the new Cougar armored vehicle.

Both the Dingo APV and Bushmaster IMV have served the ILM with distinction since the early 1990s when they entered service to replace the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), which entered service just after the end of the Republic. The HMMWV or Hummer was a large improvement over open, unprotected jeeps that served with the Layartebian military during the days of the Republic but the Hummer was an ill-suited replacement. Lacking protection against nuclear, biological, and chemical contamination and weak ballistic protection against bullet rounds and rocket-propelled grenades, the HMMWV was immediately given a bad name. Throughout the 1980s, even up-armored HMMWVs were ill-suited for intense battle and the leadership at the MOD decided that they should be replaced immediately. The Dingo APV and Bushmaster IMV both were ample and capable replacements. They provided limited protection against mines, ballistic protection against all assault rifle rounds used by our enemies, and sufficient protection against rocket-propelled grenades.

http://www.theforsakenoutlaw.com/Graphics/Nation-States/LDC/m2052a1.jpg

In early 2001, designers in the LDC - Land Division unveiled a newer 4 x 4 vehicle capable of carrying as many soldiers as the Bushmaster, which was ten, but provide increased protection not only against rocket-propelled grenades but mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) as well. What they unveiled was the Cougar. The basic version, a 4 x 4, is built with a V-shaped hull, which is meant to deflect blasts away from the vehicle. Mines with explosive warheads in excess of 30 lb. can be deflected by the hull. Against its main body, its armor can stop many rocket-propelled grenades, including the favorite RPG-7, used by many rag-tag militias and armies around the world. It can be fitted with reactive armor as well. Its windows are capable of deflecting bullets of 7.62 x 54mm, which is considered the weakest point of the vehicle; however, it is an improvement over both the Dingo and Bushmaster.

The ILM plans to build 9,420 Cougar 4 x 4s to replace the Dingo APVs and 9,540 Cougar 6 x 6s, a larger and heavier vehicle, to replace the Bushmaster IMV. In total, the ILM is expected to spend almost §3.85 billion with these 18,960 vehicles. The Minister of Defense, when commenting on the price tag stated, "The price tag is higher than we originally expected but if it saves 1% more lives than it is worth it. We cannot put a price on the lives of our soldiers and it is my hope that, when we go to war, we return with as many men as we left with, and that's my goal."

I also use the Cougar 4x4 and 6x6, as well as some other specialized variants. Its a damn good vehicle, can run straight over a mine with nothing but some tire damage. They were tried and tested during the Gulf War, none lost so far, despite going under very heavy fire on numerous occassions.

Yeah there have been over 300 IED attacks against the Cougars and not one has produced a fatality. One got its right front tire blown off after running over a mine and then drove 2 miles @ 20 mph with only 3 wheels to get to safety. They're great vehicles, far better than the HMMWV and with double the range and carrying capacity.

Communiqué from the Sri Lankan government concerning the events in Sanctuary (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=535921).

Official Communiqué

To: Foreign Ministry, Realm of Cotland
From: Department of State Affairs, North Sri Lanka
Copy: Earth II
Subjet: Re: Offer of Humanitarian Aid

We appreciate the offer of assistance from the Cottish Realm and wish to have it enter our country and force immediately. This disaster is global in its reaches and its proportions. The Empire of Layarteb has offered us great and wonderful assistance with this disaster and are currently assisting with the bulk of the containment and decontamination of all affected persons. We currently have a death toll of forty-two from this disaster and we expect double that within the next two weeks due to radiation poisoning.

Despite the impact globally, the local impact is exponentially worse. We will have to cordon off an area approximately twenty-five miles in diameter, which will be an exclusion zone. This area will not be able to sustain long-term life for over 100 years and immediately around the powerplant and the powerplant itself, it may take over 1,000 years before human life can safely return. Currently, the reactor is exposed to the atmosphere and more radiation is escaping. We are currently dropping lead, sand, and boric acid into the reactor to contain the spread of radiation but we cannot do it quikc enough.

We appeal to the world to help us in this endeavor. We must also build a containment shelter around the reactor that can last for 100 years and be weather resistant. This will be costly but we cannot do it alone. We need humanitarian aide and we need support. Please help us control this terrible accident.

Sincerely,

Junius Banda Senanayake
President of Sri Lanka

I've given up my claim to eastern Algeria so I could reacquire my Canadian lands, so you can have that. The only trade I'd consider now is the South Tyrol for Istria- because Istria was once Italian (in much the same manner that the South Tyrol was once Austrian), so I prefer to keep Tunisia as I want to have semblance of the old Roman Republic. I will allow you access to Tunisia as per our previous economic deals...TG me so we can work something out.

In doing so, the Empire guarantees that no strategic nuclear or chemical weapons will be deployed to the Falklands Islands, the further establishment of embassy relations and a raising of the travel quota to 50,000 for the Russian Federation (per year), and the allowance of Russian merchant and civilian traffic through the Panama Canal. Hurricane Felix Strengthens...Category 4
By Elias J. Hammerford

MIAMI (SH) - Hurricane Felix, skirting through the southern Caribbean Sea, has achieved a category 4 status with winds sustained at 140 mph and gusting to 175 mph. Hurricane Felix is expected to pass north of Honduras on Tuesday and make landfall in Belize on Wednesday around 14:00 local time. Already, tropical storm watches are in effect for the island of Jamaica and Central America.

After the devastation provided by Hurricane Dean to the Yucatán Peninsula, the arrival of Hurricane Felix so close after could potentially devestate the area, if it hits. Storm preparations are already underway as this storm is expected to achieve a category 5 status by the time it hits Belize mid-Wednesday.

Residents in this devastating hurricane's path are urged to follow evacuation orders.

Hurricane Felix marks the sixth named storm, second hurricane, and second major hurricane of the 2007 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Since 2005, forecasters have predicted very active hurricane seasons but 2006 proved to be a very slow season.

I asked them to close Infernal simply because the direction is not the one I want. It simply isn't as dark as it should be and that is a reason for a rewrite of it and I hope to bring you that very soon with more details worked out than before. The setting will remain the same and so will the characters but details are going to change significantly.

For all those who care, Saint Lazare is officially starting school - and the prospects for me continuing on NS are growing slimmer.

That - of course - means I'm planning a contingency should the worst come to it all. Work, school, and RL are just consuming too much my time to participate actively on NS anymore, and I'm seriously considering a gentle exit. Fortunately, the outstanding RPs allow me to make some reasonable exit, but I'm going to linger for another week to test the waters. I hope that I can continue on, but just in case I can't, I just want to say that it has been a great privilege to have counted myself among the alumni on Earth II - not quite the most productive, but hopefully one of the more progressive. If I cannot continue, I will discuss the inheritance issues following my departure [goodness, the tears are welling!].

Of course, this is all a heads up for a very real possibility. If I can continue school, work, and real life without infringing on NS activity, then I'll try to resolve RTL ASAP and the coup too. Hopefully, the people are understanding and will do whatever it is within their spiritual mindset to wish me luck in the coming days [i.e. pray].

Prime Minister Wells to make an official visit to China

The office of the Prime Minister recently announced plans to make an official visit to China. The visit will encompass all China has to offer and marks the first time a leader from the Hawdawg Republic has ever traveled to the Wonder of the Orient. How It Works?
Well basically we start out with 16 teams and each team plays 3 games so that the first round has 24 games. The top 2 teams of each group advance to the quarter finals and play 1 match with the team they're pitted against. The 4 winners advance to the semi-finals and play another match against each other. Then, before the finals, the 2 losers vie for 3rd place. Then there are the finals.

The average ticket price is §180.14 ($328.45). I based the pricing on a sort of wierd scale. I found the pricing for the FIFA World Cup 2006 ticket prices and the average ticket price was 146.79€. Now, based on the whole system of exchanges and what not, that equals §193.95 so it's really cheaper. Total revenue for just the tickets alone will be projected at §765,700,000.00 ($1,396,100,810.00).

In total, we can support 4,250,500 attendees at full capacity with all 10 (I added 2) stadiums. The first matches are played in 6 stadiums with 8 games per stadium. The quarter-finals are played in 2 stadiums. The third-place match is played in 1 stadium. The finals and semi-finals are played in 1 stadium.

Scheduling
The first round begins Wednesday, September 12 and continue to Friday, September 14. The quarter-finals round begins on Sunday, September 16 and ends Monday, September 17. The semi-finals round begins on Wednesday, September 19 and ends on Thursday, September 20. The third place round is on Saturday, September 22. The finals round is on Monday, September 24.

Day One

"And here we have it. The first day of matches in the Second World Cup. What an amazing show hasn't it been Dick?" Buddy Frank, one of the sportscasters on ESPN - Soccer said with a smile as a graphic shot up behind him reading: "WORLD CUP II - THE EMPIRE."

"Sure was!" Dick Arnold, the co-anchor said as he shuffled some papers and looked up at the camera. "We had eight matches today all across the Province of Layarteb here in the Empire and we ended up with some amazing games and some amazing results. We had four decisive games and four draws, what an even split! Let's talk about the first game to kick off."

"Yes. It was a colossal match between two great countries at 09:00 hours this morning at Washington City Stadium, where the Empire faced off against the Cottish Realm. The game was action packed throughout the entire game and ended with a draw, one to one.

"At the same time, in Falcon City, at the Falcon City Stadium, the Armed Republic of Soviet Bloc kicked off against the United Federation of Eurasia. These October Alliance giants met with similar results as the first game with a one to one draw."

"You got that right Dick. The first two games saw nothing but passing, blocked shots, and powerful strikes. It was an amazing set of games that I was proud to be able to watch. I tell you we had four televisions in the game room and I tried to make my two eyes watch all four at once!" Buddy laughed as he said and turned to face the camera himself. It was his turn. "The next set of games happened at 12:00 hours at Casino Field and Gillette Stadium where the Grand Duché de Saint Lazare took on the Roman Empire and the United States of Brink faced off against the Independent Republic of Liechtenstein, respectively. Again, we saw a draw between the Roman Empire and the Grand Duché with no score to either side. It was vastly different over in Foxborough though! The United States pulled ahead early and finished off with a four to nothing slaughter over the Liechtenstein team. What an upset!"

"You got that right Buddy. That was a definite upset. At 15:00 hours, we saw another powerful set of games. The Commonwealth of Hirgizstan took on the Spizanian team at Falcon City Stadium and what a victory that was. The Hirgizstanian team dominated every inch of the field and every second of the game, scoring five goals to Spizania's zero! It was a tough thing to watch but that is what makes soccer great! Back in Washington City, the Holy Republic of Hawdawg vied against Pantheaa and was struck with the 'draw' fever. With an even score of one all, these two teams battled back and fourth for control of the field but nobody had it at the end. It was another action packed game!"

"I sat there for that last one and I swear, I lost count of all the steals, blocked shots, and deadly strikes on the goal. It was amazing. The last round of games just wrapped up. They began at 18:00 at Casino Field and Gillette Stadium. At Casino Field, the Russian Federation squeezed out a two goal second half against the Trenskian team giving them a three to two victory. The Trenskian team scored early and scored hard with a two goal first half, letting one by themselves but it was the Russians in the end who game away with the 'W' and they deserved it. The last game saw the Divine Empire of Kreynoria against the mighty United Eastasian Republic. This match was intense! These two Pacific powers fought each other every step of the way and it wasn't until a goal scored with just four minutes to go did we realize who was going to win. That victor was the Eastasians."

"What an amazing day this has been Dick." Buddy began. "Tomorrow guarantees to be as good, if not better. Who will advance to the quarter finals? I don't know yet but I can tell you one thing! Keep watching and you'll find out! Good night."

Actually FOAB is just a PR name for now, there is no official designation yet. This thing uses air from outside of itself to explode, its reported to be 4 times more destructive then MOAB...everyone is still speculating how it was achieved, I heard some crazy stuff about nanotechnology.
Where did you get the 8 tons from? From what I read the PR guy refused to comment on any specifics.

TRANSLATION: - The test shows that the new airborne bomb can be compared with a nuclear bomb when it comes to efficiency and capabilities, says Aleksandr Rukhsin, second in command of the General Staff of the Russian Military.

The comment comes at the same time that the Kremlin is trying to restore Russias reputation as a military superpower.

The bomb contains approximately eight (metric) tons of high explosives, while the American version contains seven (metric) tons. However, the Russians claim that it's a full four times as efficient, due to it being developed with the use of nanotechnology.

The American bomb is said to have the blast force of eleven tons of TNT, while the Russians' latest development is the equal to forty-four tons of TNT.

Russia emphasize that the bomb will give their military the opportunity to maintain security in the country, and to confront international terrorism - in any given situation and in any given region (of the world).

GD is goal difference. GA is goals against and GF is goals for. So you won 3 - 2 so you have 3 goal's for, 2 goal's against, whereas Trensk is 2 goal's for and 3 goals against so the different of GF - GA is -1 or +1 (in your case). Points is easier. 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss. In cases where you have 2 teams of equal pointage, the GD factors into who gets the upper hand.

The bomb is very impressive. I read it is 7.8 tons of warhead and 11 tons in total, equal to 44 tons of TNT. I'm not entirely sure how nanotechnology is factoring in but it does have promise. The MOAB is still guided though so it has that advantage but the two bombs are different. The MOAB uses H-6 filler whereas the FOAB is a thermobaric device (by nature the most powerful class of conventional explosives there is, especially when dealing with overpressure). I'd be interested to see the MOAB with a thermobaric warhead since it appears to be a much bigger weapon in terms of dimensions. For all we know it could be overexaggerated claims because that ratio is nearly 5.6x for weight to TNT equiv, which is VERY high but who knows I don't know anything about nanotechnology so my area of expertise in this is limited...could be right on the money could be bogus, who knows...

Day Two

"Well what a second day did we have! After a four victory, four draw day yesterday, we were sure for more stalemate today. We were wrong. Today we had six victories and two draws, quite the turn around I'll say, right Dick?"

"You got it Buddy. Let's go to the recap!"

"Alright the first games started at 09:00 hours today at Gillette Stadium where the United States of Brink took on the Eastasians. This was a quick game with a lot of passing, a lot of score attempts, and a lot of blocks. Both teams vied through a no score first half and came out, into the second half, with an amazing round of tid-for-tat goal attempts. The first goal came to the United States who followed on with a second goal very quickly afterwards. The Eastasians fought hard but only managed to get one goal, losing the match. The second match was at Raccoon City Stadium where the Cottish fought the Holy Republic of Hawdawg to a brutal standstill. The game initially showed promise when the Cottish scored the quickest goal yet of the World Cup with a ninety-two second goal. The Hawdawg team answered back just eight minutes later and the score remained at one through the final with another draw to both teams." Buddy said as the screen shifted, showing a replay of the two goals.

"Buddy we almost forgot about the craziness in the second game."

"How could we forget," the video replay switched again. "Shortly before the half, this stark crazy fan ran across the field naked. Police apprehended him shortly after he stole the ball from a Cottish defender and tried to score. We are told he is Jeffery Spence, a thirty-two year old dock worker from Baltimore, Maryland."

"Well it wouldn't be the World Cup without at least one streaker."

"You got that right Dick." They both shared a laugh as the video replayed. Two cops, seemingly out of nowhere, tomahawked into him and tackled the naked fan before he could get too far. The Cottish goalie was ready for the shot.

Dick continued, "At 12:00 we went to the second round of games for the day. At Casino Field, the Roman Empire took on the Russian Federation and came out victories with a one to nothing victory on a goal scored late in the first half. The game was quickly paced and we did get to see a lot of action. At the same time in Falcon City, the Hirgizstanian team took on the Eurasians. The match was a heavily favored one with the first place team fighting the fourth place team from last year, a good match in all respects. The Hirgizstanians, again, dominated the match with double the amount of score attempts than the Eurasian team but only won two to nothing. Over to you Buddy."

"That Hirgizstanian team. What an amazing team. I'm betting they'll go all the way to the finals again!"

"That's an easy guess. They're the number one favored team to win behind our own Empire, the Eastasians, and the Roman Empire."

"Quite amazing Dick. Not let's go to the 15:00 games at Gillette Stadium and Raccoon City. Reeling from a bad loss, the Independent Republic of Liechtenstein took on the Divine Empire of Kreynoria, also suffering from a single loss. Gillette Stadium rocked when these two teams game out to play. It ended in a one to one draw. Now onto the favored match of the day. Raccoon City. Where the Empire tangoed with the Pantheaan team. There was certainly no love lost between these two teams and the Pantheaan team was definitely sour after the results. It was another quickly paced game with a lot of aggressiveness on both sides but it ended with a decisive two to nothing victory by the Empire."

"What an amazing set of games. Buddy, you know I was there for that game."

"Which one? The Empire game?"

"Yes. It was a match and a half. We had two yellow cards in just the first ten minutes of play. All-in-all, it was one of the most brutal games I've seen. There was a terrible injury to the Layartebian team and it doesn't look like Harry Monto will ever play again. It all happened just a few minutes after the second yellow card. Monto was defended against a powerful shot and collided head on with the Pantheaan striker. Doctors say that he will walk again but his leg will have to be surgically set with pins."

"Quite intense," Buddy winced at the thought.

"Alright. Now to the final games of the day where the Trenskian team took on the Grand Duché de Saint Lazare at Casino Field and the Spizanian team dueled against the Armed Republic of Soviet Bloc at Falcon City Stadium. The Saint Lazarian team just couldn't hold it together and drew a one to nothing loss while the Spizanian team, reeling from one of the worst defeats in World Cup history, dominated against the Soviet Bloc team with an amazing three to nothing victory, all three goals being scored in the first half."

"Well what an amazing day in soccer. Tune in tomorrow for the last day of the first round. It could go anyway and see who makes it to the quarter finals! I'm Dick Arnold."

"And I'm Buddy Frank. Take care!"

Where did you read this? I fucking missed the Russian news talking about it on TV (damn you work), they actually had a comparison with moab and all the size stats and shit. This is only a prototype, Im sure they'll stick some guidance on it in the final version, it doesn't even have a designation yet. Basically it's just a fuel-air explosive like the other FAEs Russia has. The TOS-1 has a FAE rocket and one of the bombs, ODAB-500. That's why I'm trying to figure out here how a FAE is so massively powerful. Thermobaric munitions have the highest overpressure of any conventional weapon, including ANFO, which is very powerful yes. That's why I'm trying to figure out how exactly nanotechnology figures into a liquid mix because that is what an FAE is. Fuel mixes with air and badda booooommmmm!!! Based on the object so far it is just a giant canister like the Daisy Cutter was, no point with guidance there, it has no control surfaces, is an aerodynamic disaster, and needs a parachute to work effectively...if you drop it without one it might be too fast for the desired effects...

Streakers... you gotta love'em. Too bad you didn't mention that the Cottish defender (Kjetil Wæhler (25)) took a swing after the guy after he stole the ball :)

The Cottish goal in the Realm-Empire game was scored by Steffen Iversen (14), while the goal against Hawdawg was scored by John Carew (10). Carew is by the way the top scorer in the Cottish Elite League with seven goals accredited to him this far this season, and he has played 66 games for the National Team, scoring a total of twenty goals since 1998.

On a slightly different note, Culture and Sports Minister Frank Hjelland (CPP) will be attending tommorrows game in Raccoon City Stadium, where the Realm of Cotland team intends to take the three points home for the Realm. He will be arriving in Raccoon City a little later this afternoon in a Gulfstream G550 business jet.

While the Hawdawg team was impressed with the streaker attempting to advance the ball, the team as a whole wasn't impressed with his physical attributes. It must be very cold in Raccon City Stadium. In fact a picture of assistant coach Gary Connor's holding up a zero on the substitute board (a score for the streaker) was on the front page in the Stockholm newspaper this morning.

Low scoring is to be expected in the OA end of the bracket. Our teams have seen alot of each other in match play leading up to the WC.

Day Three

"Well what a day, what a day," Dick began. "Another eight matches and now we have eight advances. The first round is over. Yes that is true. Now we go to the quarter finals but let's talk about today's games. Okay, over to you Buddy."

"Thank you Dick. The games started off at Giants Stadium where the Grand Duché de Saint Lazare took on the Russian Federation. What an amazing game. It was fast paced but a low-scoring game. The Russians won, one to nothing. They are going to advance to the quarter-finals. The second match was in Washington City, where the United States of Brink took on the Divine Empire of Kreynoria. This was another quickly paced match but it ended in a draw although the United States of Brink will be advancing as they lead group B."

"What a good set of games Buddy. What a really good set of games. Now let's take it over to group C and D. In Raccoon City, the Empire of Layarteb took on the Holy Republic of Hawdawg. The Hawdawgian team, which finished second last year, was heavily favored to win this match and it was an astounding upset. Throughout the first quarter, nothing happened except attempt after attempt. Then, in the second half, we saw a totally different game. The Layartebian aggressiveness doubled and within twenty minutes the Empire racked up a goal and ten minutes later there was a second and final goal. The final score was two to nothing, with the Empire advancing. Giants Stadium saw the fourth game of the day where the Spizania team took on the United Federation of Eurasia. Following their victory of the Soviet Bloc team, the Spizanian team came out strong, sending goal attempts constantly throughout the first half but their defense was lacking. During the first half, the Eurasians scored a total of two goals and followed suit with two more in the second half. The final was four to nothing, Eurasian victory. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough and neither team will be advancing."

"That's sadness there Dick. Two great teams and they played their heart out in that game. It's a shame. Alright now to the third group of playing. The Trenskian team took on the Roman Empire at Giants Stadium as well and what a game it was. The final was two to nothing with a Trenskian victory. Like the Russians, the Trensk team will be advancing. At Raccoon City, the Pantheaan team struggled for a one to nothing victory against the Cottish. This is a major upset for the Cottish who, like the Hawdawgians won't be advancing."

"Heartbreak is everywhere Buddy. The last round of games saw an Eastasian victory over Liechtenstein, pushing them forward into the quarter-finals. The Eastasians were upset with their standings at our last World Cup but they've improved significantly. It certainly isn't the same team it was last time."

"You can say that again. The last game was, perhaps, the biggest upset we have seen. The Soviet Bloc team took on the Hirgizstanian team. After dominating both games, the heavily favored Hirgizstanian team was predicted to win by at least three goals. It turned out to the opposite."

"Yes it did. The Spizanian team is more than pleased with this result I am sure. The Hirgizstanian team suffered a powerful five to nothing loss against the Soviet Bloc team. However, despite the hard loss, the Hirgizstanian team will still advance. The win ensured the Soviet Bloc team that they too will advance. Though tie, points wise, with the Eurasian team, the Soviet Bloc team scored one more goal than the Eurasians, guaranteeing them a spot in the quarter-finals."

"Well what an amazing set of games. Tune in next week for the quarter-finals matches, which will be held at Manchurian Global Stadium and Stamford Field. The first two games will be at Manchurian Global Stadium on Sunday, September 16 and the second set on Monday at Stamford Field. Good night!"

Okay....time to find some way of ass-raping Panth for making the Realm not advance in the World Cup.... How does a five-thousand missile thermobaric cruise missile strike against his country sound? :p

Nah, just kidding. Though the Realm is shocked and saddened by the loss, and demand that the entire Panthean team be tested for doping!

On another note, Team Coach Hareide sent an invitation to his Hawdawgian colleague and invited the entire Hawdawgian team to join the Cottish team at a club in Layarteb City to drown their sorrows. Layartebian law enforcement officials have been notified and readiness is increased in the vicinity of the club in the event that some of the players should choose to take out their frustration on something or someone... ;)

Layartebian law enforcement officials have been notified and readiness is increased in the vicinity of the club in the event that some of the players should choose to take out their frustration on something or someone... ;)

This invitation was accepted and the team has ordered three large vats of beer, whiskey, and vodka to swim in at the "Stumble In" Tavern. It is rumored that the team will attempt to consume there own bodyweight in alcohol this evening.

Violence was reported in Manchester tonight as rabid fans took out there frustrations on a local 7-11, burning it to the ground after the owner suggested to a fan the Hawdawgian National Team slacked off in the second half of the Layaterbian Match. Trashcans and dumpsters were set on fire and several cars were destroyed by the mob. The unsettled behavior quickly ended when the Police Department arrived on scene with a water cannon and two dozen police dogs.

In other news, Prime Minister Gordon Wells had this to say about the match.

"Maybe the Empire of Layarteb really shouldn't have sent three dozen hookers to our Team's rooms last night. Just kidding, I know the Emperor will get a kick out of this sound-byte! I am sad we didn't advance, I know our team has really been training hard for this and I want to commend them on the hardwork and dedication they exhibited through the entire world cup process. In the end when we are defeated by a team from which we are closely tied to in an alliance all is well at the end of the day. I just am happy our team was up to the challenge the night before. Have I mentioned Viagra has asked to sponsor our World Cup Trek next year?"

Two new characters you'll see in my RPs. I don't know yet if they'll make their introduction in RTL or Killswitch Engage 7.

Alright I'm picking up with RTL again. I'm sorry SL I don't mean to be rude and I still want you to stay but I just can't wait anymore on the storyline. I've got a lot of catching up to do and a lot of progress to make with it. I'm going to be skipping quickly through this chapter, which will put me out on September 2007ish, perhaps later, and then jump to the next chapter, which will actually take you BACK in time to 1976 - 1980. Actually the next chapter, affectionately titled November Rain will focus on the rise of your favorite black ops guy in the whole world, Jack Delaney. To quote North Germania way back when: "Yeah that guy scares the shit out of me..."

Cotland revamps criminal punishment system

OSLO (CFP): The long awaited revamping of the Cottish criminal punishment system was ratified by the Storting earlier this week, and the new punishments are now made public.

By Erik Hansen

One of the biggest changes in the list of punishments is the reduced importance of the death penalty, and removal of several of the available options for a condemned criminal. From September 17th, 2007, the only way Cottish courts can comdemn a person to die in is hanging, which has been the most common execution method used since the late 1950s, or neckshot if the condemned person is a member of the military. The crimes for which the death penalty can be used have also been reduced in number, and now includes only murder, rape, terrorism, child molestation, treason and regicide, with the death penalty being optional for the judge if there has been an attempt of the latter three crimes.

Other Class A felonies can be punished with life imprisonment without the possilibity of parole or hard manual labor for life. All imprisonment will be in solitary cells with no contact between the various inmates. It is interesting to note that drug-related crimes that does not include murder are no longer punished with the death penalty, but rather hard manual labor for life. This is in itself considered by experts to be a postponed death penalty, as the Cottish labor camps are known for their high casualty numbers. It is rare for a criminal to last more than ten years.

Class B felonies can be punished with hard manual labor for up to twenty years, or imprisonment for up to twenty. Class C felonies such as grand theft auto, theft and other "less" serious crimes are punished with hard manual labor for up to five years, while misdemeanors are punished with up to two years of hard manual labor or community service if the crime isn't that serious.

Common crimes such as parking violations, speeding violations and shoplifting does not include the option of imprisonment for a month or two any more, but are instead punished with higher fines or, in lieu of payment, community service.

As we can see, the timeframes for punishments have been significantly lowered, but the actual punishments have in turn been far harsher. This is perfectly in line with the Rothsky administration's hard line against crime which has seemed to work well over the past twelve years that the administration has been in office.

Several prisons in the Realm will be closed down according to the new law, with the Criminal Administration relying instead on the labor camps as the place where the inmates are to reside for the ten hours of the day that they aren't working.

It is believed among both politicians and experts on the subject that the hard labor will be an excellent deterrent for the miscreants that might contemplate committing crimes in Cotland. Whether this will come true is still to be seen though.

Day Four

"Weclome to day four of the Second World Cup and the first of two days of quarter-finals matches. What an amazing set of games today huh Dick?"

"You got that right Buddy. We had a monumental match between the Russian Federation and United States of Brink at Manchurian Global Stadium at 11:00 hours and then at 18:00 hours a second match between the Eastasians and the remarkable Pantheaan team, which came out of no where to advance through the first round with a surprising defeat of the Eurasian team."

"You got that right. Alright let's take you to game one. Both teams came out swinging. The first half saw at least three dozen goal attempts by either side."

"What an aggressive match?"

"You couldn't be more right there Dick. The first goals came in quick succession at ten and thirteen minutes both of them by the Russian Federation, leaving the United States down two goals. They answered back with three goals at twenty-four, thirty-two, and forty minutes. This put them ahead by a single goal but the Russians answered back with a third goal, tying it up, at forty-three minutes. The first half ended with the tie. What an amazing half it was!"

"You got that right Buddy. I wonder what the coaches said to the team in the locker rooms but when they came back it was totally different. The aggressiveness was much more toned down and it helped the United States team more than the Russians. At fifteen minutes into the second half, the United States scored their fourth goal on an amazing close range, side-foot shot past the Russian goalie. It only got worse for the Russians who were down two goals when the United States scored their fifth and the final goal of the game at thirty-eight minutes into the second half. The final score was five to three, with the United States advancing to the semi-finals."

"Amazing. Truly amazing Dick! Now let's take you to the Eastasian match. What a polar opposite from the first match. Where the United States and Russians duked it out, the Eastasians dominated! They scored two goals in the first half despite a terrible injury to a team member. We hope he'll be rested in time for the semi-finals because the Eastasians scored a third goal in a three to nothing annihilation of the Pantheaan team in the second half."

"All four teams played amazingly well. Didn't they?"

"You can bet they did. Both the United States and Eastasians are going to advance to the semi-finals. Tune in tomorrow at Stamford Field where the Hirgizstanian team will take on the Trensk team and the Empire will take on the Armed Republic of Soviet Bloc."

It's been dormant for a while. You've got a safe bet there.

Here is the problem. I'd like to put my claim in for Algeria than but I want to incorperate it into Land of Sin which would mean me not actually posting about Algeria for a few posts. This would, however, break the rules. I am asking if this is ok?

Well the way it works is this. You can make a claim and you have 24 hours to start the post. If you don't your claim is invalid. Of course you can always repeat this step. Basically, it's reserved for you as the primary claimant for 24 hours. After that, it's a free-for-all but Algeria has been free for how long? So it's your gamble more or less.

Day Five

"Good evening. Dick. What an amazing pair of games today."

"You got that right Buddy. Perhaps the most exciting games were played today. We had one upset, which will send a heavily favored team home early and one of the most exciting, tense games to date. Let's take you to the recap. Buddy?"

"Alright Dick. This morning. We saw the Hirgizstanian team face off against Trensk in a match that we expected to go in favor of the Commonwealth. It turned out that the Trensk team pulled off an amazing three to one upset against the Hirgizstanian team with a quite succession of three goals in the second half to the one scored by the Hirgizstanian team early in the first half. Amazing wasn't it Dick?"

"You got that right Buddy. The Trensk team will sure be happy they are advancing and the Commonwealth of Hirgizstan's amazing rollercoaster run ends here, in the quarter finals. Next we take you to the Soviet Bloc versus Layarteb game. What an amazing match, perhaps the most exciting to date."

"I couldn't have said it better myself Dick."

"Eight and a quarter seconds into the game the Soviet Bloc team scored a goal, the fastest goal yet and one that surely set the Layartebian team instantly on the defensive. Eighteen minutes later, the Layartebian team answered back with a goal, tieing the game up. It continued one to one until the second half. This time, the Layartebian team came off on the offense with a goal giving them a two to one lead just nine minutes into the second half. The Soviet Bloc team wouldn't die though and at thirty-seven minutes, they tied the game at two. It continued that way into the final! Yes that's right we had our first overtime of the Second World Cup. It was nothing like the first two halves and saw a powerful assault by both teams on each other but neither scored until the second half of overtime. Just one minute and thirteen seconds left on the clock, the Layartebian team came from no where to score this powerful and punishing goal against the Soviet Bloc team, giving them a three to two win and a surefire advance into the semi-finals!"

"Wow Dick. What an amazing pair of games. Join us Wednesday at the West Side Stadium and Thursday for the semi-finals matches. First to play will be the Eastasians against the United States and then, on Thursday, tune in for an action packed match between the Empire and Trensk!"

Ronaldinho (yes, he was born in Roman territory) scored the goal that beat Pushka. I think that's about it for my scoring.

I'm happy we actually won a game this time...but I think I might go younger the next time around. My team of superstars couldn't control their egos...again. :(

As for the claims- they're all correct, and if Paraiba is still open I would like to claim it. Also, would I be able to get my Yellowhead University thread as a "static" thread? I really want to establish it as a premier university.

From the Cottish News Network's (CNN) Daily Business Report

"...in other news, the stock prices in the Oslo Stock Market rose slightly as Caribbean Air Shuttle (CAS) announced its intent to purchase a total of seven commercial airliners from the Layartebian Defense Corporation, for use in the route between Barbados and Saint Lucia. The purchase is composed of two medium-range airliners of the type Model 003-100 and five short-range airliners of the type Model 004-300. This purchase is expected to cost CAS $272 million, but will greatly boost the commercial transportation in the Cottish Caribbean Realm and allow for more inter-island travelling. Commuters rejoiced when they heard the news.

Lay: Just wondering when the offsite forums will be up and running again?

Now, to something completely different:

HMDC & Prometheus Systems Present

THE SILENT GUARDIAN

Silent Guardian Directed Energy Protection- Safe, Silent, Dependable

The Silent Guardian is the newest in a line of new Directed Energy Weapons (DEW) currently being developed by HMDC and Prometheus Systems.

DEW's employ millimeter wave energy to penetrate human skin up to 10/64's of its natural depth. The beam emitted is referred to as radiation but below 10/64's the beam is non-lethal and the effects will dissappear quickly. DEW's provide a filler between 'shout and shoot'. They effectively disable the human body, rendering anyone within the DEW's range completely ineffective.

The Silent Guardian is the first dedicated vehicle transportable system of its kind and can be set to emmit rays capable of penetrating up to 10/64's of human skin. However, tests have shown that a setting of 1/64 will render any and all threats incapable of any function other than fleeing.

The Silent Guardian is a primarily military and law enforcement weapon, its casing being able to withstand point blank small arms fire and extreme heat and cold.

The system can be precise targeted by use of a simple joystick and control pad, allowing individuals, small groups or entire areas (up to 350 metres) to be targeted and can be turned on from standby in under two seconds, allowing for 'shoot and scoot' capablities.

This system has already been tried and tested by the Hirgizstanian Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies. It is now a standard issue weapon in the COH Military, being carried by 1 in 3 vehicles in many units.

System Price (Per Complete Unit): $2 Million

Day Six

"Good evening Buddy and good evening soccer fans! Tonight we bring you coverage from the first round of the semi-finals where the United States of Brink took on the United Eastasian Republic in an amazing bout of skill, strategy, and stamina."

"Indeed it did Dick. Indeed it did. Let's take you to the game. Played at the fabulous West Side Station, to a capacity crowd, the game started off with both teams, rather evenly matched, facing off one on one, all by themselves. The first half saw nothing but attacks by both sides, several yellow cards, four in total, three to the Eastasians and one to the United States. It continued scoreless until minute thirty-nine when the Eastasians scored a strike of a goal. The score remained at one to nothing through the rest of the first half. Buddy."

"The second half came out with the United States down by one but they quickly evened it up at four minutes and, six minutes later, brought the score to two to one. What an amazing bout it was. It continued through the second half to twenty minutes when, on a penalty shot, the Eastasians tied the game at two. I expected extra time but I was mistaken when, at thirty-six minutes into the second half, out from nowhere on an amazing surge forward from the midline all the way to the goal, the United States scored the third and final goal of the game!"

"Yes it was. This means that the Eastasians will have to vie for third place and the United States WILL advance to the finals!"

"Amazing wasn't it? Yes! The United States is going to the finals. Tomorrow stay tuned for the Trensk, Layartebian game. Good night!"

Guys, I don't know how many of you are home but CNN has Jack Cafferty on his own special between 20:00 and 21:00 EDT and I have to say I like this guy and yes we all know I'm a righty. I like him because he has my thought on it, which is that our whole system is fubar'd and that it doesn't matter what party or what is going on, we are just collapsing because of grotesque mismanagement.

Jack I'm afraid for my future. Neither party cares for the welfare and safety of our country and they waste our tax dollars on their personal agenda and corrupt politics. Jack, our future is grim and bleak and unless we, the people, do something we're going to go the way of Rome except nobody will be reading about us in the history books in 1500 years.

I wrote an e-mail to him saying that and I hope he reads it :).

I got Bioshock on the 360, in HD it looks superb. And yea the water is freaking awesome. Walk under it, and the screen blurs, quite awesome. It takes ages to complete though, you keep thinking your getting to the last part and then there's a bit after that that is even more awesome than before. They really went to town on it, best game I've played in a long while.
I also got MOH: Airborne, damn good game but as usual EA have taken the cheap-ass way out by creating damnable enemy re-spawn points, over-hyped AI (for some reason even the least trained enemies can tell where you are hiding all the time) and a bloody short single player game. Apart from that its pretty good though.

Day Seven

"Well this ends the semi-finals Dick!" Buddy began with a huge smile. "You know, when this game started I was happy but I wasn't happy with the outcome."

"Really Buddy? I was. You see the game started off amazingly. Shot after shot with no scores until ten minutes in when the Empire scored the first goal of the game. We saw some amazing passing, amazing steals, and amazing shots. Both goalies were in rare form, stopping everything and anything coming at them, including this powerful strike by a Trenskian midfielders. Unofficially, this is recorded as the fastest moving shot in soccer history at 94.5 miles per hour. We're still doing analysis but unoffically that is the speed. It was truly amazing that the Layartebian goalkeeper even blocked it. Going into the second half, we stopped down there to interview him about the stop. Here's what he said."

"I didn't realize how fast it was coming and I just jumped up and caught it. I almost fell back over. It was sheer luck." James Rilly said as he shook his hands.

"Did it hurt?" The reporter asked with a bit of humor.

"I still can't feel my right hand," the goalkeeper joked and went into the locker room.

"What a tough guy. The score into the second half was one to nothing, with the Layartebians in the lead. The second half saw more of the same with shot after shot after shot. The pumelling continued for eighteen minutes before the Layartebians scored their second and final goal. That's where I was upset." Buddy added.

"Yes. It remained two to nothing until a dangerous foul call that got Shaji Punji of the Layartebian team tossed out on a red card, giving the Trensk team a penalty kick, resulting in a score now of two to one."

"The second half continued with shot after shot and two more rounds of penalty kicks by the Trensk team and one by the Layartebians but none resulting in a score."

"The final was two to one, a Layartebian victory and they are going to advance to the finals to face the United States of Brink on Monday, September 24. For now we're off and don't forgot to join in on Saturday, September 22 for the third place match between Trensk and the United Eastasian Republic. Good night!"

(And here's a little tip- once you get Telekenisis you can pick up loads of things, including dead bodies. What's a dead body good for? Well if you pick a body up you can hold it and throw it at those pesky little machine gun drones that the security cameras send to kill you. Hit them with a dead body and they are out for the count, don't waste ammo on them.)

Yeah, i noticed, corpse tossing is also good against Splicers although not necessary for those that wear a mask, tear the mask from them with telekinisis then throw it back at their face and they're done. Nope, Pushka your right on track. Next time you visit a Gatherer's Garden check the top options, you can buy new plasmid and tonic slots there. First time your able to is in Neptune's Bounty as far as I remember.
And tonics you don't actually use, they are just equipped. If you buy and put into the slot a 'wrench jockey' tonic your wrench attack will be much stronger and if you buy a hacker's 'delight tonic' then your hacking will become easier. Honestly speaking I think the tonics, apart from the Combat ones, are a bit wasted. They could have done a lot more with them.

Day Seven

"Well Dick. This was definitely the most exciting game so far of the World Cup match. The United Eastasian Republic and Trensk fought out a hard-paced, slaughter of a match that was decided by sheer penalty kicks!"

"Yes that's right Buddy. Both teams squared off with a goal each in the first half and a goal each in the second half, pushing for extra time. It continued from there."

"Yes it did Dick. Three minutes into extra time, Trensk scored a powerful goal and just six minutes before it was over, the Eastasian Republic scored a goal themselves, making it three up. All of the following attempts to score were useless."

"Indeed they were. So where'd we go? Penalty kicks!"

"The first kick went to the Trensk team, a kick they missed. The Eastasians played hard and scored their first penalty kick making it four to three. The Trensk team answered right back and scored on the second kick, tieing the game at four. The Eastasians missed their second kick as did the Trensk team on their third. The Eastasians fired back hard and narrowly missed on the third. With the fourth kick in play, the Trensk team failed to score but the Eastasians, redeeming themselves from their third kick, powered their fourth into the goal for a five to four game. With their last chance, the Trensk team failed to score."

"Yes it was a hard loss but the Eastasians take third place with a five to four victory, determined by penalty kicks. Tune in Monday night for the finals between the United States of Brink and the Empire at the West Side Stadium. The kickoff is at 20:00 hours after ceremonies begin at 19:00 and conclude at 19:50."

So I told them about the error and they did something with the database and now it won't load at all. So I tell them about this error and they tell me is a scripting problem in the files. Official Press Bulletin
The Royal Palace, Oslo, Norway
September 24, 2007 - 08:55 AM [CET]

At 07:21 AM this morning, Her Majesty Queen Marie of Cotland gave birth to a baby boy at the Royal Oslo Hospital after having been admitted to the hospital last night around midnight. The details around the birth are not known at this time, but all is well with mother and child. The child is the first child of His Majesty King Haakon and Queen Marie, and is the first in line to inherit the Cottish throne. The newborn child's name will not be made public until after the King has notified the cabinet and Storting, as the Constitution demands.

Yeah, I figured it out, I kinda backed away from the game for past two days got into NWN 2 for now but I advanced pretty far I think Im at the level where I guess I get to kill that theater guy...going after Andrew Ryan's head right now he already killed off Atlas's family.

In other news I would like to do something with Argentina. Basically I didn't get a chance to RP the invasion yet however this is what I want to do. If a new nation wants to join EII I will RP the pacification of the region with them and they can be a native force friendly to me, once the big bad evil warlord is taken down they can take control of the nation and my troops will leave. This offer will last for a couple of weeks and extends to anyone who may be joining or rejoining EII. Lay please add this to announcements during the next update.

In addition, I will update all my RPs this week, its been a long time coming, shit I still got Bolivia to finish invading not to mention all the Russian territories plus the new Panthean territories plus I need to update my military. I will try my best anyways.

Day Eight

"Well that's it. The Second World Cup is over and what a game! Wasn't it Buddy?"

"You got that right Dick. It was a high scoring game that wasn't decided until late in the second half. The game started off with a powerful two to nothing lead generated within just ten minutes by the Layartebian offensive, an offensive that piled ahead like some sort of juggernaut."

"Indeed it was. Unstoppable, the Layartebians dominated the first half in terms of shots, attempts, steals, passes, and what not. From the beginning it seemed as if the United States would have no chance until they scored two goals late in the first half at minutes thirty-nine and forty-two, tieing the game."

"The second half was very different. Both teams were much more guarded and it showed as the United States of Brink scored a third goal just eighteen minutes into the second half, giving them the lead by one. The Layartebians answered right back just eight minutes later at minute twenty-six with a third goal of their own. Then, at minute thirty-four, the United States opened up the lead again with a fourth and amazingly shot goal. Minutes later, at minute forty-two, the Layartebians let a fifth goal pass."

"And that was the end of it. A hard loss for the Empire at home but they advance to second place, a place ahead of where they stood last year. And the win goes to the United States of Brink, a team that has come from great odds to defeat the mighty Empire!"

Summary

United States of Brink defeats Layarteb (5 - 3)

Victory!
Layarteb City, Layarteb

In a stunning upset earlier today the United States of Brink has downed the home town favorites! “That was the hardest match I have ever played without a doubt in my mind, said an exhausted but thrilled Captain Chafulumisa. The team downed the offensive powerhouse Layarteb National Team 5 – 3 in a fast paced and fitting end to a wonderful tournament. Despite their team’s loss the Layarteb fans that crowded the stadium displayed respect and humility by giving both teams a standing ovation when it was over. The fans and the players of the Layarteb team had nothing to be ashamed about finishing second and playing wonderfully in front of the home crowd. “The fans, the players, the coaches, they are all wonderful people. I had so much fun playing here,” said the youngster Farai Mosi. Victorious coach Flynn Chance said, “The tournament has turned out wonderfully, all the people I have talked to have been enjoying themselves to the fullest. It was a really well done tournament. My compliments to the host.”

The end result, however, didn’t seem likely early in the match. The Layarteb team pushed hard and completely devastated the Brinkian defense with two super quick goals. “Unable to call a time out like in other sports there was little I could do,” said Chance, “I had to rely on my leadership to pull things together.” That is exactly what happened. Team captain Chafulumisa and veterans Chipo Banga and Chotsani Chiwa stepped out and evened the match by halftime. Chafulumisa launched a corner to the shoulder of Chipo or directed past the keeper. The second goal came off a cross from Chiwa which found Banga’s head for the second. “We had to launch the ball across the 18 because there was no way we could get in close; the defense was shutting us down, said Bomani. The third goal, after halftime, came off the individual effort of Farai Mosi. The rush was halted quickly though as the Layarteb team struck back with a lightning offensive. “It was going back and forth, back and forth. It was an exhausting battle,” said Chipo.

Late in the second Hondo Mashama came in for Farai whose ankle was giving him trouble. He instantly went to work launching a shot from the 18 for goal number four. Finally Zuka Runako volleyed in a pass from defensemen Shoori Sundai giving the US a 5 – 3 lead.

When the whistle blew the team instantly came together. After a quick celebration they were equally as quick to shake the hands of their opponents and exchange some friendly words. Back at home the country is in a state of perpetual euphoria. It is a party that is showing no signs of stopping and one that surely won’t be forgotten.

Stats:
Chipo Banga – 2G
Farai Mosi – 1G
Hondo Mashama – 1G
Zuka Runako – 1G
--
Bomani Chafulumisa – 1A
Chotsani Chiwa – 1A
Shoori Sundai – 1A

Also, I have an enormous favour/request of Hirgizstan. Feel free to say no, Hirgy, but I was wondering if I could roleplay an independent (though politically friendly) nation composed of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Sort of a popular return to Roman-style rule by neo-Cymreans or some such.

I ask only because it would give me something more than a flyspeck in a culture I'm more familiar with, living in the area RL.

So you can't accuse me of cheating ;).

How was it run?

Step 1: I plug in everyone's name, rank (WC1 place), and style. Note that if you did not play in WC1 you automatically were put as 21 for rank.
Step 2: Did test run until no errors were found and play went smoothly (i.e. 3 games played for first round, no draws for subsequent rounds, etc.).
Step 3: Ran "official" run after the last test run (in most cases 1 test run only required).
Step 4: Used results in "official" run and that's it!

Pushka, are you going to respond to me in that Invasion of Argentina thread? If not, I will just accept your ownership over it for the time being, but I would very much like to get some more contiguous territory.

Spelling is crucial, that might have thrown you off, try using just parts of the word next time (i.e. "Austr" instead of the whole thing). Now you did go ahead and ask the right question though, that being what is available. Here it is (also found under "Land Area Deposits" on the spreadsheet):

Australia (Kangaroo Island) 1,700.78 4,405.00
Andorra 180.70 468.00
Brazil (Distrito Federal) 2,240.16 5,802.00
Brazil (Goiás) 131,772.63 341,289.50
Brazil (Mato Grosso) 350,120.14 906,806.90
Brazil (Paraíba) 21,765.35 56,372.00
Brazil (Sergipe) 8,491.93 21,994.00
Brazil (Tocantins) 107,064.98 277,297.00
Christmas Island 52.12 135.00
India (Arunachal Pradesh) 32,333.36 83,743.00
India (Assam) 30,285.08 78,438.00
India (Dadra and Nagar Haveli) 189.58 491.00
India (Daman and Diu) 43.24 112.00
India (Manipur) 8,620.50 22,327.00
India (Mizoram) 8,141.74 21,087.00
India (Nagaland) 6,409.30 16,600.00
India (Sikkim) 2,739.78 7,096.00
India (Tripura) 4,050.98 10,492.00
Juan de Nova Island 1.70 4.40
Paraguay 157,047.07 406,750.00

The numbers are mi² and km² and relate to the population-land area matrix. Please read the first post, the charter. Because of your population you're currently limited to 500,000 mi² (1,294,994 km²) until you reach 500 million people, at which point the matrix bumps you up to double that amount. It is my hope that you find something suitable and join us.

!!!!ATTENTION!!!!

I have begun work on the "expanded spreadsheet" and I would like now the necessary help to fill in your part of it. All you let me know what you are in here and we can move along with this and make it really easy to work with everyone here. You can telegram me, you can e-mail me (JGDevlin@gmail.com), or you can post here. If you are going to e-mail it I would request that you use the header "Earth II Spreadsheet" so SPAM filters don't block me from seeing it.

It's simple and here are the categories. If you look at the example here (http://www.theforsakenoutlaw.com/Nation-States/Earth%20II/Spreadsheet/EarthII_General_Sheet_files/sheet004.htm) you can see I filled out my portion as a guide.

Demonym (i.e. Layartebian)

Summer Time (yes/no)
Time Zone(s) (just the #'s please, i.e. for US = -5 to -10)
Calling Code (# i.e. US = +1 [you can use whatever you want just be wary that you might use things that others use so we'll work that out later if it happens)
Internet TLD (i.e. .uk, .rus, etc.)

Yes, naturally. :) I'm not quite ready for it yet, as I haven't yet read myself in on the situation there and its history, but soon. I was just looking ahead.

The Falklands...that was all a big misunderstanding. Besides, did Britain truly need to cling so desperately to it's last shred of imperialism? Were the Falklands really that strategically important, nefarious potential notwithstanding?

I continue to find it amusing at just how protective we all are of our precious square kilometers...my self included, of course. :p
Layarteb
28-09-2007, 20:57
Well, to the Empire, they are of strategic value plus it was the home of Totalis, a Varsolan corporation that was directly involved with the atomic bombing of Saint George's, Grenada. You were probably gone when that happened but RTL has a lot of stuff since then.
