Are we ignoring the very finite amount of oil in the world? With the vast number of military assets thundering about the E2 world, orders of magnitude more than in RL, how long do we figure the oil reserves are going to last? I'm reminded of Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising.

Already been through this back when Pushka was around (be thankful you were spared these conversations) In any case he claimed during the Great Bjornoyan International Stock Exchange Crash he was entirely unscathed because his country was completely self-sufficient. Did calculations, found at his rate the country would have used up its RL oil in less than a year...

Trying to mix the bull-shit NS number with a semi-realistic Earth will always lead to gross inconsitencies. In regards to resources all we can do is bring it up and know that the best RPers will take it into account. The worst will pull 2,500 ship fleets out of their 21,500 square mile, third world, resourceless countries and call it good RPing. I have nothing but disdain for those in E2 who have huge ass militaries and use them all the time like toys but when asked the simple question; 'how can you afford this?' go 'uh, uh, the NS calculator gave it to me!' Like a spoiled little child who plays with and wastes all his toys from his parents without knowing they had to be bought. Nothing is free.

The good part is that I saw all my old friends and now officially have my Honours BA in History, but the bad part was sitting through those nauseatingly boring ceremonies. You know, I don't know what's worse- slugging away tirelessly for five years to get my degree or having to sit on a metal bench for four hours to eventually get my degree.

The best I can say is that it was sincerely worth it. :cool:

Congrats on your BA, man. I really hope it gets you a job in your field. I respect History a great deal, it's rare to see it in practice. At least here in Portland, anyway. Indeed Bjorn, well said. There are many places in the world were oil and gas and coal have not yet been discovered or exploited. Canada, has recently started to exploit massive oil reserves and Sudan and Niger have billions of barrels of oil ripe for the picking, but in RL they can't because they are always killing each other. In E2 its different. Plus, many military units these days are turning to Gas Turbines for engines, instead of Diesel which use up more oil in the long run.

Cymrea a lot of us do have the oil problem countered. My nation relies mostly on nuclear, hydro-electric, geothermal, wind, and gas for power with oil only powering the areas where none of those are possible (very limited numbers at that). My populace pay a lot of money for gasoline ($6.00 a gallon and up), meaning that SUVs and other gas guzzling cars don't exist in the EOL. Ethanol is the top used fuel for us. 3/4 of our petrol reserves are strictly for the military, which though many use hybrid fuel-cell type engines, most still use standard gasoline. I have a LOT of oil I can say that and barely any of it is used and so little is exported.

Looking at the map I think I have the most oil reserves, so I, naturally, have massive gas guzzling cars with gas usually about $2. But a lot of power is gained via Hydro-Electric, Wave Power, Solar and of course, nuclear power. Oil is mostly not used in heavy industry because it pollutes so much, but you just have to allow it in your cars, and I love big cars!

Oh yeah, Huahin, your underground city stuff, yeah. I did an RP one time where this guy called Neo Tyr had an underground city built below a normal city. Well, due to the battle we had, the underground city collapsed...do I need to paint a picture?

The thing is, It was your responsibility to check whether you were close to your land limits. Are you really that paranoid to think that Lay has an evil conspiracy to take awya your land and give it to OK? Lay can't be held responsible for knowing exactly how much land everyone has at all times and what bits they can and cannot annex. On a very limited extent they would be feasible. Hotels, resorts, small things like that would all be allowable though cities and communities would be more or less somewhere we don't want to go.

The only reason I was thinking of making cities of them was so I could keep my entire population.

Hence why I RP with only 1.25 billion people. A lot of people RP with smaller popualations, I think Cotland does 300 million, for example.

I didn't catch the Czech Republic-Ghana game (I will later tonight- Sportsnet is repeating it at 3AM :) ), but I don't believe that the Czech Republic-Italy game is going to be a walkover for the Czechs. If the Italians ever get any gumption they could beat the Jan Koller-less Czechs (who, I'm guessing, look like they could have used him against Ghana), but that game is pretty much a toss-up. The Ghana-U.S. game is a toss-up really, but I have to say I was impressed by how the Americans played against Italy- Bruce Arena is one heck of a manager, and that DaMarcus Beasley really is something- if Brian McBride hadn't touched the ball with his heel then Beasley really would have had another "Shot Heard 'Round The World" (McBride's heel was what caused the offsides call). Still, that game was nuts- I can't remember the last time I saw a game with one side with 10 men and the other having nine. The group's a toss-up now really.

For those of you wondering where I've been I just stalled everything to do some coloring cuz some brats at camp challenged me. Said I couldn't do as good as them so took it upon myself to ruthlessly smash their youthful pride, or have them totally upstage me either way.

No, he'll be back. I would say he'll be put on D13. But I would advise Lay to give him a damm stern warning about pulling this kind of thing again, it just isn't good practice for E2. I mean claiming plane designs, nobody does that. Anyway, enough of that, the Mods have dealt with it.

Hey guys sorry about not being very active over the past two or so days. Im having vid card troubles and my monitor is therefore being very very ...gay. It should be sorted out in the next two days at max. This problem limits me to only a few seconds of screen time. Even now i write most of tis without even seeing it with could explain the erros in type. Like i said ill be back by thursday def! So dont count me out of hosting the cup if im still in the running ro anytrhing like that. Peace out.

To demand I give them back or "face the consequences" is a refusal on your part to accept any responsibility for those actions. Should you decide to continue with your "gimme my shit back or I'll throw a tantrum and fight you" bullshit, then you will have proven yourself to be the child you have - up to this point - seemed to come across as.
