There are a few things to understand about air conditioning units, especially those big ones found in department stores:

(2) Home Depot stores are in the order of a million cubic feet or more, requiring a LOT of air conditioning power.

(3) High aisles limit the effectiveness of air conditioning units because they block the airflow from them as the units are strategically placed on the ceilings.

(4) When the front doors stay open all the time it just lets the cold air out and the hot & humid air in.

(5) When the air conditioning/heating system is controlled by Atlanta, almost 1,000 miles away, there are bound to be some problems...

It isn't so easily moved. The last time someone hit it with a forklift I spent 6 hours using a rachet, a drill, and a ton of bolts, L-brackets, and lock washers securing it. By the way, my official raises have been 29 cents & 35 cents, both of which were soon augmented :). I told them I wanted to move to another store and they gave me a $1.46 raise to keep me there because I make them a lot of money. Now I am going to expediter so I'll see what the raise is there. In just 2006 alone, in the past 2 quarters (by the way, the current quarter isn't even up yet), I've brought in over $200,000, which is more than some associates have brought into the store in 5 years.

It's like 7 miles. I've gotten there in 5 or 6 minutes once but I don't speed like that anymore.

On a happy note, I finally managed to get all of the paperwork finished, the money accumulated, and now my application for a Lawful Permanent Resident (green) card is on it's way to Chicago! Woo! I sent it Certified with a return receipt, so when they get it, the receipt comes back to me. I can take it and a letter from an employer saying they want to hire me down to the USCIS office here in Portland and BAM! Temporary work permit!

I can't let you have all the fun now can I? Wait until you see my 9/11/01 memorial one, now that I figured some shading things out with Photoshop. By the way I made that with Fireworks & Photoshop. The landing Discovery, the initial layer, was cropped in Fireworks to 1600 x 1200 and then I pasted the other layers on in Photoshop, after cropping in Fireworks. From there, I adjusted opacity and shading. The text was done in Fireworks.

That sucks but I hope it was fun.

Well, I got a good lesson in capitalism today in being fired after just two weeks and nine hours on the job. Never got trained either and the boss wondered why I screwed up. Heh.

You can apply for most jobs online. Most companies require high school graduation some college is preferred but not necessary (2 year associates or trade school), ex-military okay. Must pass the piss test and usually attend some onshore training before being sent out. But word of warning, 12 hours working 12 hours off on an isolated location takes a special person. Usual shifts are 14 days on 14 days off. I don't know if they are hiring international yet, but you have companies in your backyard (north sea) that have openings I'd bet.

Counterfitting a Layartebian visa is harder than counterfeiting the newest US bills and they are stored on an encrypted database so if you are asked for your visa it is crossreferenced with the database. When it doesn't show up you wind up in jail and nobody sees you again.

That's assuming that the official does his job correctly. Get a ring that well co-ordinated- with maybe a member or several members of the terrorist cell working as immigration officials- and voila. May be hard to do, but it's not impossible- there's no such thing as a perfect system.

Reminds me of Ancient Rome- the emphasis is on making sure the individual knows what they did was wrong. Not something I myself would favour, but that's just me. No light punishments at all?

It's kind of slow and boring but i like the point of the movie, the part where the Mossand and PLO were in the same safe house together was good but the guys should just shot them instead of telling them they were ETA!

Saint Lazare is opening its doors once again to embassy exchanges. We are welcoming any and every nation in the world to Saint Lazare, considering we have the time, place and space for them all on our little island. Since I know some people want to use this reserved for other projects [some people including me], I'm leaving this open for another three months - after that, down come the reservations and up come the land grabs for corporations, buildings, and places for my people to sleep in. Oh, and the airports working too, so I'll be looking for Mirage aircraft and the whatnot for my airforce. 1065 KM wide. I'll put it this way. If you get up at dawn in Orange, TX (close to louisana border) and drive I-10 west to El Paso, it will be well after dark before you get there (12+ hours and 857 miles later).

Yeah, the rescue divers are basicly the CG's special forces. Hardcore stuff, I'm probably gonna go see that movie.

Not particularly sure about swim training, I don't think it's particularly demanding. If you're a damn good swimmer you could easily hack it. It's boot camp actualy has the highest stress level compared to the other services, ironically, with Marine Corps boot camp coming in second. Once you're in, tho, it's good stuff. Riding boats around, boarding people, all that fun stuff. It really depends on where you're stationed. If you're at a station like where I was, you chill most of the day and watch TV or clean the boats and go out when you get a call or for training or patrol.

It's not all that physically demanding either, they only PT like once a week.

Seems like everyone's returning. Well, so am I, and the trip was fun. I saw the "longest street in the world", being Yonge Street (Ontario Highway 11), which stretches from Toronto through Northern Ontario to Thunder Bay and on to Rainy River, right on the border between Minnesota and Ontario and just off the border with Manitoba. It looks a lot different by the Minnesota border than it does in downtown Toronto. Northern Ontario's beautiful, and I got to do some neat stuff- there were Polar Bears in Cochrane, stopped by Fort Frances' annual festival and I sat in a $30 million plane used for forest fires in Hearst. I realized that Ontario's a lot bigger than I thought it was- but it's a nice province to drive around in, there's a lot to see and not enough time to view it :( (Pity they don't advertise it more- we'd make a lot of money doing so). Meh, next year. Until then, yet more time in the dump called Alliston...

Hello all, and welcome back to those who were away. Unfortunately, it is my turn to go away for awhile...beyond the scope of D13, I'm afraid. I just got authorized to work and am now working full-time with the county in parole and probation. While immensely rewarding, it also means I have sweet-jack-all for spare time. I may be able to poke my head into NS and E2 once in a while, but I won't be able to contribute in a meaningful way anymore.

This is likely to be my last significant post, but I wanted to let you all know that I enjoyed my time here a great deal. I'd like to give my deep thanks and ether-handshakes to: Layarteb, RomeW, Bjornoya, Hirgizstan, Squornshelous, Cotland, Hawdawg, Kreynoria, Saint Lazare, Marimaia, Doomanum, Neuvo Rica, Pyschotika, Pantheaa, Soviet Bloc, Lightning Star, and Dweladelfia Prime. To anyone else I might have missed, cheers and thanks.

DP, you are allowed to retain a puppet nation in another Earth as long as there is no interaction between said puppet and your main nation here in Earth II (or vice versa). That means that you can have two nations, but they can't share squat. Not leaders, not resources, not equipment, not anything (except perhaps the same basic ideologies and stuff like that). That means that you cannot do as you have in Earth II (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=488312) and in Earth V (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=494485) with sharing leaders and everything else (see links for documentation of your doing just that).

Also, learn to write correctly, please. You have improved vastly these past few months, but you still have extremely irritating errors in your writings that make your posts a minor headache to read due to the confusion of what you really mean. Most of the time, I understand the meaning after reading them, but some are just beyond my grasp of knowledge. If you could improve this, your posts would improve even more than they have.

We've made alottments for RL type Earths where you RP as an actual nation (i.e. US, Ireland, whatever) with certain time things and such, like E20 and Modern War Studies. This would also cover historic things like WWII RP groups and stuff. Off-site Earths are basically okay because it's offsite, you can do what you want off-site, nobody should tell you otherwise.

Our thing is that if you are going to join another Earth on-site that isn't any of the above, please use a puppet state and to only post on E2 thread with the registered E2 nation (i.e. Layarteb versus South Eastern Virginia [a puppet of mine]).

A puppet is defined as a different NSID (i.e. Layarteb & South Eastern Virginia).

The thing about in the likeness of Earth II means something similiar in terms of context, where you come as your nation and do your thing as you want. Earth V is like this as was Earth III, IV, and however many other ones there were. They are basically the same thing as Earth II and hence the whole puppet thing. We're not saying you can't RP on them, just use a different NSID. This is, perhaps, the oldest rule of E2, before I took it over.

Yea that makes PERFECT sense as I have been on other Earths before but been equally as active on both. Layarteb doesn't care about people being on another ON SITE Earth, he just thinks we'll all be like Elephantem and never post here but post there all the damn time.

Fuck, I haven't even MADE an IC post on EV. I joined because I was planning on being a nuisance to The Great Sixth Reich, and I've also been working and helped with two other off site RPGs recently and have been writing in my novel specifically for Earth II which is why I haven't posted here in such things such as the War on Drugs.

I'll quit EV because I don't care much for it but NOT because I am intimidated by either Mari or Layarteb, but because it would be a damn shame to see them get paranoid and remove me and other such members because they think we'll never post here.

Also, that would just be a cheap way to eventuall become a part of the UER which I won't really allow.

As to additional -

I never really planned to post in EV once I started doing some stuff with EII.

As well, I was told by Layarteb in the past that it was perfectly fine to do so as long as I was not going to carry stuff over between Earths. It doesn't seem to be a problem unless such said nation has not really used anything referencing to Earth II.

As well, where was he to really enact upon this with Elephantem and such? No where, he was just upset but didn't pust on D2 and said it wasn't much of a problem then. Also, I remember being in EV before the post which would have activated D2 which makes me somewhat invulnerable to it from what I have been told in the past, I only took a leave for such a long time and came back.

If it is such a problem, I'd like to know the real reason and not because 'It would be too confusing' even when there is a 'EII' for something posted for EII and an 'EV' for something posted for EV. If I can get the 'real' reason then I won't really care, but if I am being told that it is out of confusion then it is stupid because I damn well know that you aren't confused.

None of your citizens are allowed in the COH anyway, your border with me is militarized and always locked down. How a landlocked country like yours even survives in Africa, without trading with any TATO members (to my knowledge-and if you do I would think they will cut you off) I really don't know. If the virus should, somehow, affect my nation then I'll consider it a direct attack on my nation. It matters not if it was an accident by your seemingly incompotent armed forces. I wonder, aswell, what sort of fuels keeps your economy going, islands and barren serengeti don't really provide much coal or oil or anything at all except dirt. You see what I'm getting at here?
