I wrote this months und months und months ago, so for some odd reason I put it that the Sultanate of Elephantum was founded when Kerala and Tamil Nadu rebelled and founded the sultanate in 1463, and that you sided with Rome in the 100 year war between me and him over India. I also need to edit it an awful lot, but since you be focusing on just B.C., then I guess we be fine, eh?

Okay, I finally have decided that Monaco, Comoros, Johnston Atoll and Clipperton Island will revolt to make my nation. it was a long think, but I think I'm finally ready to join EII. The Grand Duchy of Monaco will be my name, (For the time being.). hope that's all OK with you all? if yes, I'll get the Revolt thread up.

BTW, as far as I can see, Van Luxemburg is well within his right to claim those lands, as long as he RPs for them (and since he plans to, I see no problem).

I'm gonna have to enter some kind of mode here or something, some decree, but my time is limited for the computer for the moment and I don't know how long that may remain. In case anyone hadn't noticed I wasn't active on NS since Oct. 21st. I had an accident where a car failed to yield, and instead of slamming into their door I decided to swerve around them and hopefully counter by slamming on the brakes. Doesn't work well on gravel. I managed to avoid the other car but I quickly lost control and spun around several times with my pickup before entering the ditch. One of my tires hit a hole someone had dug and my pickup catapulted itself end over end [I had been moving at 60-70 MPH] several times before stopping on its wheels. I wasn't wearing a seat belt [i was in a damn hurry to get to help my uncle with harvest] and found myself face down on my seat, after impacting about everything in the cab. My radio was still playing so I reached for the key and shut it off and then lifted myself up and turned myself around so I was on my back on my seat with my head supported by the door. I never lost concsiousness and my leg a few inches below the knee was basically severed and kept on only by my jeans and some skin across the front arc. I waited there for fifteen minutes before the people who failed to yield came back, they had thankfully called 911. A half hour later [I live in a remote area and the accident occured within a mile of home...] ambulances and Life Flight [helicopter] arrived. After using the Jaws of Life to pull my doors off I was pulled out and lifted into the helicopter and carried the sixty miles to Fargo. After a night there I was transported by ambulance to Minneapolis [6 hour drive and they ran out of morphine half-way there] where I underwent surgeries, angioplasties, etc. etc. I could still move my toes etc. but the tissue damage was so extreme my leg was actually amputated just above the knee...


So... That was my last almost two weeks, I finally found access to a computer [well, this is only my third or fourth day free of morphine (I like morphine and the 'button' now...)]. I should be out of here within the next few days following the advice of my physical therapist to pursue extensive physical therapy at home/Fargo and eventual fitting of a prosthesis, likely a C-Leg [computerized].

So, this is just to inform that my access is limited, I don't know what I'm gonna do with nationstates any more, if anything at all... I may pull out completely and I may not. So, I'm not sure what decree or mode or whatever this would fall under, I suppose vacation mode or something, but I want to keep my claims intact until I can make a final decision.

Holy God man it's good to see you are still alive and kicking after that, despite the loss of the leg. If there's anything we can do for you let us know. And don't worry this falls under the Decree of "Don't Worry About It." Just like with Yelm with his grandparents died.

And yeah, I'm really lucky. Although my leg was amputated [I'm not too bummed about that, as I know what prosthetics are capable of], the only other injuries I sustained besides small abrasions/cuts and bruises was a single cut above my ear which was stitched up. It could have been alot worse, and there was a very real chance that I wouldn't be here today, so, thanks for everything.

60 - 70 somersaults included...yeah I have to agree it could have been...good to hear you aren't bummed...and yes prosthetics do some amazing things nowadays...support ye shall have no doubt about that...

I am sorry for your loss SB, thats true prosthetics should help, i have a freind in a similar situation, he is doing just fine. Again sorry about the loss.

I posted my history on Lay's invisionfree forum. It involves a group of Byzantines under Romanos Cerularius (fictional general I made up) trying to found a colony on an unknown island west of Britain. They turned out reaching Panama, and then set sail across the Pacific until they reached Hawaii. actually, im covering up until the death of Wandu e-Mumman, but ive only got to 300BC so far, and just wanted to see if there were any contradictions. Although Elephantum isnt really Indian by nature, it was Bahraini. The thread will essentially be an edited Bahraini history from Dilmun (2500BC) to almost modern times. I might work in something to explain India, but that will come in the Age of the High Sultan, before we became one of the 2 Muslim states and before beign divided into Sultanates. We'll probably have to go over this after I post it, where it will make more sense. But there was a golden age in very early history, then mostly beign conquered again and again until modern times.

Soviet Bloc take care, and focus on the positives, you made it. I lost my dad in a wreck because he wasn't wearing his seatbelt. He went to sleep and rolled just like what you described, if he would have worn it he would still be around. Sad thing is, he wrecked a few years before his fatal accident and peeled the entire roof off his truck when he went to sleep coming home from work. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt then either but luckily he survived with only scratches, the first time.

Don't chance it, a trip to the 7-11 is just as dangerous as driving on the freeway. Most wrecks occur close to your home. Oh and people hang up the damn cell phones up too! If god would have meant for us to multitask in the car he would have given us two sets of eyes.

Thanks for the support guys, lol. I will admit I'm an optimist so I see more good than bad in these things. I know when the truck finally stopped and I flipped myself over the radio was still playing so I listened to it for awhile while I waited, then realized it probably wasn't smart to have electronics on, especially when I was pretty full with fuel. So I had to shut it off. My windshield gave me entertainment then until I tried to find my cell phone to call my uncle and tell him I might be late for work.

The three people in the car who ran the yield sign when they came back remember me actually comforting them, and I remember it too, they were freaking out and I had to calm them down [what a reversal of roles]. And yeah, the first thing I thought when I was done was: "Wow, that was a fun ride..." "Gotta work on the ending a little bit though."

I did get a helicopter ride out of the ordeal, and it was pretty fun except for the fact I repeatedly thought we were gonna crash. The ambulance ride was kind of lacking, mainly because they ran out of morphine and the fact they actually got lost in Minneapolis with me. Hehe.




As for the latest news, I did so well with my crutches and the steps today in PT I'll be out of the hospital tommorow at noon and then on the four hour trip back home. Otherwise they were thinking of keeping me for several more days just to get the basics down.

I cant say I know how it feels, though since I dislocated my knee last year I realize how good it feels to move again, even on crutches. My grandfather had his leg amputated above the knee a while ago, and his prosthetic has really helped.

I honestly thought amputations were very rare nowadays, what with antibiotics and amazing reattachment surgery. My friend's father lost his hand at a work accident though and they couldn't reattach it, another surprise to be honest. We've come a long way actually. In the Civil War, the most common battlefield treatment of a limb injury was amputation.

Well, I claimed, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, and Central African Republic, under the belief Teh Ninjas was Decree 12. Does he have a say in rebuking my claims, because by Decree 12 it sounds like he doesn't.
It does not seem fair nor does it benefit the RP if inactive players are allowed to hold land here.

I no longer need to ditch what's left of Palau(getting rid of Brazil really lightened the load :D). However, if my taking Tyrandis' Pacific territories goes through, then you can have the rest of Palau.

Since my nation not only has limits, but wishes to increase to value of an individual's life, I will set a population limit for my nation at about 650 million.

It only makes sense, and considering we have nations of 11 billion residing on island chains, I think an overall rejection of the NS population descripition is logical. Right now we probably have about 10 times the current population of Earth living on this planet. Life would be miserable, if it could exist at all.

According to the brief history i posted in my revolution thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=451571) my nation was involved in a war with Alikut Empire in Siberia until 982 AD then finally it was assimilated into the Pushka. Only after that did Pushkan Empire start expanding west so i really don't see how my nation could fight you in 812 while all of tis armies were engaged with Alikut back in Siberia. So maybe you can edit that a little or something. Also before 982 Pushkan Tsardom was only based in the north eastern Siberia, eventually it spread out west to form the modern borders with you and what used to be cottish lands in Russia.

I thought that would be a good era to fight, but whatever, I changed it to Goths. And did the Mongols exist in this Earth? Their presence would be important to both of our histories.

BTW, Cotland I know I've seen a history of your nation before, but I couldn't find it. And I'm going to elaborate what the Greek influence was within Bjornoya. I needed Christians to get to Bjornoya, and since according to Roman history Rome was pagan that was out of the question.

Since I own the most populous areas of the Indian Subcontinent (basically most of the population), as well as a giant Megalopolis of a few hundred million people along the Tunisian Coast (I made it, of course; no such Megalopolis exists in RL), I think my population of 3 billion, while a bit much, is perfectly possible. Remember how my nation puts a heavy influence on health, so people live longer and die less (of course, I'm going to have to subtract at least 20 million from my grand population total because of the war that be going on :p) Of course, I should prolly reduce it to around, say, 2 billion, but meh...

Some nations have chosen to limit their population and they are fully allowed to but keep in mind that nobody is required to. But yes you reaise the most valid point. I have over 4 billion people and I have a little bit more land than RL China and they are crowded at 1B. Obviously, most of those people are on the coast and my land doesn't have such vast deserts but yes it is very difficult.

Technically yes, in that "Pontifex Maximus" (the Pope's RL Latin title) was a Roman title, but my Roman Christians branched away from the Papal ones (i.e., what we'd call the Roman Catholics) in the Middle Ages.

The only difference is the engines are more powerful. Also, all aircraft bought from foriegn providers (ie all of them) will have minor avionics changes. Nothing that would make a serious change in performance, just so that nations who use similar/identical systems, or nations who sold them to us, would not know exactly how it works.

I'm not objecting to time constraints at all. I have seen too many RPs that are like "pefect scenario." The enemy embraces your [not you particularly, just you in general] forces, you take over, take 5 casualties from 129 rebels, and it's over. There's little resistance if anything in most of these things...

It's evident nobody understands. The original meaning of the 21-day and Decree 12 RPs were to be good RPs, not 4 posts and walla, the country is under control. I haven't said anything about it and I am not going to regulate RPs, I am merely suggesting this.

Well, I haven't done a takeover RP in a while, but I have to agree with Layarteb on his comments. It should take several weeks/month(s) to completely take over a region. Logistics, Local Government issues, infastructure, economic pitfalls, feeding the people while in transition, etc. all must be taken into consideration when starting a takeover. The last government takeover I assisted in was with Cotland, and we took the RP through several days of combat with mutiple rebel groups before the actual fighting was over. We didn't take as many casualities as some would like, but we were facing a crude force with limited armor and limited small arms. Of course I would never suggest to anyone how to run there own RP, but I would say for the sake of the game to put some effort into the process, it makes for a more engaging Earth II.

I think, though, that maybe part of the problem is that people don't want to think that "they're not wanted" in that area so they don't have a lot of resistance, but even there, you'll still need to build the country.

I think one problem is the timing of the transfer. If we assume that the transfers occur in a perfect time line, then my nation would have appeared out of no-where about 2 years ago or so with an entirelly different culture, language, and government than the previous owner of the land. It would be good for E2's history if we ignored some of these transfers and just assumed the region was under so-and-so's control for some time or else our history will be an incoherent mess.
As for resistence, it might be possible that culturally superior nations would find less resistence when entering a new region, but I don't think that happens too often in RL. The reason my claims have been of poor quality is merely out of fear someone else would post the claim first. Therefore, I write quick and crappily so I can get what I want before anyone else.

The Andromedian An alliance might be useful, and the trading is approved as well. However, military bases in my territory? No way. Only allies I know and trust get to do that. As for buying territories in Brazil, no chance in heck dude. If you really want it, you could try to invade. However, then you get to face the Royal Norwegian Navy and Marines... ;)

Layarteb (and others) Yeah, I agree with you completely in the whole D12/takeover stuff. While I must admit to having done a few four-post takeovers, that was when I was 'younger'. However, now I'm involved in the takeover in Australia, and I intend it to be an epic tale, with several large battles which will shape the new Australia... Stay tuned.

Yeah, I too have done 4-post takeovers myself so I am not absolved of the whole thing. But we have to take in mind that when we take over 21-day or D12 they have military elements, they have militias, etc.

Yeah, I too have done 4-post takeovers myself so I am not absolved of the whole thing. But we have to take in mind that when we take over 21-day or D12 they have military elements, they have militias, etc.

I read two chapters of the book- about early 19th century Judaism in Eastern Europe- and it's almost like a carbon copy of the liberal vs. conservative fight we keep hearing about today. At that time, the feudal structures were beginning to fall down and, expectedly, there was a reaction to all that: one branch, the Hasidim (a branch of Kaballahists), argued for the continued existance of feudal society where the Jews didn't have to integrate, while the Haskalah argued that the Jews would be better off integrating and "joining" the state. Some of the rhetoric seems to be similar to that used by the political factions today. My favourite:
