The 7th Carrier Strike Group has been constructed and added to the Imperial Layartebian Navy. Now the ILN has 1,219 seaborne vessels. I am planning to add a possible 8th CSG but I have not fully decided where to put it yet. The 7th CSG will be based in the Azores.

New parts in both Infernal and The Treblinka Affair today. The former goes into a small flashback about some of the history of Sanctuary and even tells a little bit about the upcoming Layartebian Civil War, which you'll read in Ride the Lightning. In the latter, the post begins the first chapter. Each chapter will, essentially, be happening at the same time as the other ones. Except for the fifth and final chapter, all four chapters will happen simultaneously but be told from the perspectives of the four central characters. The fifth will basically be the end and tie everything in together. I'll give away this hint, the Illuminati and the Ghost Warriors have nothing to do with this story. It is also non-E2 central so the events that happen there can basically happen as is. It's just a story being told in the NS realm of things. It borrows on some themes in Resident Evil, 28 Days Later, the Andromeda Strain, and my own warped imagination.

I hope you like them. Sorry I didn't do the update tonight, I'm exhausted and going to bed. Work again tomorrow...

Note - The International Union of Nation's Summit will begin later tonight, anyone interested in checking it out and maybe getting involved outa prepare themselves. This is not an alliance of any sort only a means to build an international community that would have power over the say of the voice of the TOA, just saying that there should not be only one superpower force guiding the world (Especially one composed of from what i've seen purely dictators or "Leaders for life.").

I don't know if I've given an opinion on this already, but there are a one big thing that would prevent me from joining this.

My %$#^ing Grand Duke is dead, and the next in line is a 15-year-old kid.

Maybe if and when I get my succession in order, we'll send someone to take care of the Grand Duchy's international relations.

Ugo makes a brief return in this post. Currently I'm working on his next appearance which will probably be the most disturbing and violent post in the history of E2, so much so that I can't post it on NS. It will be done off-site, with a heavily edited PG-13 version appearing on NS. Details coming soon.

Well I went to the range today and buried my pride after 5 1/2 years of shooting, took a lesson for trigger control. No longer do my shots spray left now they go dead center. The scariest part is that I can do a controlled pair (a double tap but where you sight your second shot rather than just quickly shoot it without aiming) within a very close group in quick succession. I shot so well with the SIG P229 that I have new respect for it and I must push down my beloved H&K USP off a little since I did not do as equally well with it as I did with the SIG.

In other words, I'm good!

I just rent at the range. I live in NYC so that means $400 for a permit fee [just to have them look at the permit]. Then, if by some chance I actually do get the permit and they don't find some stupid thing to deny me for, like I have too many hairs on my head or my toenails are too long or my teeth aren't white enough, then it's $200 every year or two for renewal.

Im pretty bad a groupings if i take the time to think about it, especially with the straight pull bolt action I have to use, I just fire off the entire set of rounds as fast as I can so I dont have time to readjust off of the target unconciously

This is all pistols. Rifles are entirely different. If you have a bolt-action rifle grouping is entirely within anybody's ability. They're among the most accurate rifles around and the object of a bolt-action rifle is accuracy, not speed. Just spraying off rounds is a surefire way of missing your target and poor shooting technique.
Spizania
15-03-2008, 20:42
They arent that accurate, its just an SA80 with the gas parts ripped out and a bigger charging handle, you have to completely shift posture to cock it for the next shot, then the sight is so hard to use properly

That isn't a true bolt action rifle then but still, it should be accurate even still. Slow rate of fire means better accuracy. If it's sighted properly and you're using proper technique any bolt-action rifle will be rewarding when the round hits the target.

Well people. After a long period of consideration, I've decided to reduce my involvement in Earth II for personal reasons. As some of you may know, I've increased my involvement in off-E2 RPs, and I have a lot of stuff on my platter in real life too, so I've come to the conclusion that while it's been a good run (I've been in E2 since december 2004), it's time for me to reduce my involvement. Don't worry, I'm not going to leave, but I'm not going to be so very active here anymore. As such, I'm going to give up a lot of land, most of which will be reserved for newcomers. Some of the other land will be given to other players and hopefully be the basis for some good RPs. Anyway, this is the official notification about what lands I'm giving away and what I'll be keeping for myself.

What I'll give away that will be reserved for newcomers

Alaska
Amur Oblast
Bouvet Island
Brazil (all of it)
Cocos Islands
Christmas Island
India (all of it)
Israel
Khabarovsk Krai
Magadan Oblast
Sakha Republic
Wrangel Island

What I'm giving away to other players

Barbados (Layarteb - to be RP'd)
Isle of Man (Hawdawg)
Saint Lucia (Layarteb - to be RP'd)

What I'm keeping

Belgium
Denmark
Faroe Islands
Franz Josef Land
Ivanovo Oblast
Jan Mayen
Karelia Republic
Komi Republic
Kostroma Oblast
Mordvinia Republic
Murmansk Oblast
Nenetsia Okrug
Nizhny Novgorod Oblast
Norway
Novaya Zemlya
Ryazan Oblast
Shetland Islands
Svalbard
Tambov Oblast
Vladimir Oblast
Vologda Oblast
Yaroslavl' Oblast
Yevrey Oblast

If I've forgotten something, it'll go to the newcomers unless I say otherwise. This change of size and stuff will take immediate effect, but any ongoing RPs I'm in will continue as the status was prior to this post. There will also be a change of leadership in Cotland and stuff that will be RP'd when I find the time.

Scored 248 on a 250 score for my Concealed Handgun Permit shooting test. All shots were center mass except for three that I put in the paper perp's head at the distances of 15, 20, 30 feet. (Would have been 250 if the idiot next to me wouldn't have hit me with his hot brass). Instructor shed light on the fact that most gun fights are at these distances in RL situations. Whomever decides to go down that path with me will look like a cheap block of swiss cheese after my Colt Combat Commander sends number eight downrange and locks the slide open. Oh how do I love the .45 ACP cartridge. Who can argue with a round developed to repel men backwards from jumping into the trenches with you in WWI?

I like the SIG, although I don't own one. Several units within the Department of Public Safety in Texas use it as its official gun. The Texas Rangers also think highly of it and use it as one of the few they approve of for service use.

Yeah I was eating brass yesterday too, I had to step back from the line a few times because I got one in my pocket and they were bouncing off my shoulders. I was just tooling around yesterday with 9x19mm but my real cartridge of choice is the .40SW. I like the .45ACP but I don't like its terminal ballistics [drops just too fast] whereas the .40SW has a much flatter trajectory. A big favorite of mine is the .357SIG round, which basically can go through the cab of a tractor trailer and stop the SOB inside whereas a .45ACP couldn't.

If I had to choose between .357SIG and .40SW I would take the .357SIG due to the cartridge shape. I HATE 9mm but I own one simply as a back up weapon. If I am going to shoot into the cab of a semi, I won't be using a pistol. Preferably something with a little larger magazine say 30 rounds?

So I just finished watching 28 Weeks Later and man that's better than the first and so awesome too!!!

Are you kidding? 28 Weeks Later was good but the first one blows it out of the water. 28 Weeks had a weird backround story, at least in the first one it seemed liked hope was just diminishing then 28 weeks comes out and suddenly theres a miracle cure (Being inside the DNA of, as luck would have it, the first child returning to Britain). I just like it better when things don't even have the chance of getting better, everything goes to hell and at the moment there is no looking forward. Provides for a more interesting story.

Yeah I remember doing parade dress with it, damn thing was a bloody nuisance. I hit my face with it about once every drill revolution. It didn't help to have a 4ft psycho of an RSM screaming at you at 6am either!

First time I used the gun a friend of mine didn't have it shouldered correctly, so when he fired it jumped up and caught him above the eye. Got a massive gash that wouldn't stop bleeding. They are bloody cursed.

Uncle Vanya's self-defense weapon:

http://knifefoto.narod.ru/KU/topor.jpg

used it once, summer 06, some fucker tried to break into my village house in the middle of the night, I was upstairs watching tv with the lights off. Heard someone bashing the front door, turned on the lights, ran to the window that overlooks the frontdoor, saw him turning the corner, running. Ran down, grabbed an ax from under the fridge and ran after him in nothing but my underwear. The fucker probably ran into the woods by the time I got around the fence. Woke up my friends, we went looking for the asshole anyways, went around the village, bummed some cigs off some asshole standing by the village water pump and since the store right next to the water pump was open till 3 am we got a lot of beer and got drunk, a good night all around.

Official Confederate Communique
As you are aware, the Confederate States of Spizania has recently declared war on The commonwealth of Hirgizstan after the unprovoked attack on units of the Third Fleet, which killed over three thousand Confederate Servicemen and women.
The Confederate Navy has struck a blow against the force that killed those men, and now the "Commonwealth" demands our surrender and conspires to murder two million of our citizens, while claiming that we began this war, and that is why approximately two minutes after the transmission of the communique from the socalled "Fuhrer" of the Commonwealth, a madman if there ever was one, the Captains Regent, in the presence of the Admiral of the Fleet, Marshall of the Confederate Air Force and the Army Chiefs of Staff, abrogated the arms restriction articles of the peace treaty with Cotland and initiated Operation: HEPHAESTUS at bases across Antarctica and our other lands.

Although we are currently neutral and would very much like to see the nation of Spizania abide by the nuclear weapons proliferation restrictions set by their treaty with Cotland, if the nation of Hirgizstan carries out yet another outrageous act similar to the one we saw in its war with USR, we will have no choice but to intervene on the side of Spizania. That said we urge both sides to end this conflict and come to a compromise. Threatening others with nuclear weaponry is not something that should be done lightly, neither should such threats be simply cast aside. Even if you are sure in your ability to prevent most of the opponent's ballistic missiles from reaching their intended destination you still put lives of millions of your citizens at risk. C.S.N. Communique to the Confederate States of Spizania

We have recently recieved the news about the recent activites arising between your states and Hirgizstan. We wish to inform you that you have our full support although we cannot condone the use of nuclear weaponry in any instance. The C.S.N. asks that you put away the nuclear weapons but continue your effort, Hirgizstan should never again be allowed to escape with such a horrible act unpunished. Your response is one Hirgizstan itself would not take, by now if such an act were done to them the perpitrator would be barrled down by it and its allies and yet you only wish to provide the same damage to them. Many would say it is military might that determines a nations power but our state has realized it is not the might that is powerful, its the judgement in using that might. We have failed in our own judgment recently, leaving many of our people dead most of which caused by Hirgizstan aswell, but we have rebuilt and are much more stable then ever. It is because we placed our people above our personal interest, revenge will get you nowhere. And so we ask again to put down the nuclear weaponry, but we do not ask that you back down and infact encourage and support any effort to force Hirgizstan to back down.

We would be honored if we are allowed to mediate the peace talks between the warring parties in this conflict however we understand that a possibility of all three parties agreeing to resolve this conflict through diplomacy is slim at this moment. You can be ensured that we will remain calm and reasonable while dealing with this conflict, that said however Hirgizstanie atrocities defy all reason and if the nation of Hirgizstan attempts to commit yet another mass murder we can not stand still and do nothing. There is a certain honor in those who fight for their country, but it is evident that Hirgizstanies have no honor.

Yes, I do have that massive advantage. Chemical weapons happens to be one of them. I don't consider them to be WMD's. Heck, I don't consider a 1kt Neutron Warhead to be a WMD. For me, those types of weapons are conventional because the effects, while bad initially, dissipate quickly and leave no trace after about 6 months.

I have used chemical weapons because I want this war to end. I don't want war with you. I'm only fighting for two reaons: 1. You attacked GAR for no reason other than you didn't like his politics (and people think I'm the tyrannical one?!) and; 2. You are a menace to world peace and I guarantee, despite their bluster, few nations here disagree with me in principal (though they do disagree with the way I'm prosecuting the war). Without your current military forces you can't be a menace anymore and we can all get back to rhetoric and free trade.

Pushka, I would be prepared to accept yourc mediation only if you drop your bias and vested interests, i.e. you stop funding Spizania and you stop attacking me for defending myself (I feel like Israel right now, its uncanny...someone attacks me and I defend to the best of my ability...and look what happens!). If you can do that, you can mediate. Although, as you can see, I have offered Spizania a peace agreement and he has rejected it.

Well as a mediator all I do is sit there and make sure your representatives don't cut each other to pieces so I don't see how my bias matters. There is a difference between defending yourself and murdering 15 thousand men who surrendered their weapons, murdering them without giving them any sort of trial, even if hypothetically a lot of them were rapists and so on it is impossible that every single one of them is and a human life is something that should be held in highest regard, enemy or otherwise. Look at US troops in Iraq, I heard that during one of the first engagements of the second war an American squad was surrounded in Baghdad, their medics were actually treating the Iraqies that their soldiers wounded at the same time as treating their own soldiers and being surrounded on all sides and fired at by more Iraqies. Also I don't think Spiz will ever agree to the terms you brought up, the easiest way to end this, and the best way in my opinion is to simply stop fighting and divide up GAR's land between the two or three of you (if Cotland wants in on it too). That way everyone wins and thats the only way to end this without further bloodshed. Respect his sovereignty and he will respect yours in return. If things also turn out the way described above that will do a lot to help fix my relations with you.

I don't want GAR's land, I never did even when he offered it to me. I don't think was ever about land. Spiz didn't like GAR's ideology, so he decided to attack him.

If Spiz gets rid of most of his Navy (especially those Admiral Class ships) and keeps the rest of his forces fairly similar to what they currently are, I would probably be happy to agree to something along those lines. But a new Treaty must come out of this, where we agree to contain Spiz and his crusades. You talked about respecting sovereignty, I very much do as you know, but Spiz did not respect GAR's sovereignty and that must count against him.

This is simply blackmail.

I won't accept a 'white peace'. And I would be careful about saying those Khan missiles won't make it through, I'm sure the designer would be pleased to step in if he thought you might be exaggerating your defensive capabilities.

The peace I will accept is one that sees all of your Admiral Class ships scrapped and your Navy drastically cut in size to a force that can still ably protect your littoral waters, territorial and energy claims as well as protecting your SLOCs.

And if your worried about a ground invasion because your Naval forces would be weakened, I'm sure we (Cot, Pushka and myself) could come to some sort of agreement to see that that would not happen, at least for a forseeable period of time if you agree to keep your ORBAT as it is with the only amendments made to your Navy. I also think your ground and air forces are adequate given the land mass of your nation, I don't think they are 'tiny' as you say.

I can't accept a 'white peace' because you have destroyed several of my ships and killed thousands of sailors. The chemical attack illustrates my annoyance at this. We need not cause any more destruction.

(And I know you have chemical weapons, I was not implying that I had them and you didn't. I think most people on NS have them.)

My current navy is barely large enough to patrol my littoral waters and SLOCs, I have to maintain lines of communication and supply across three hostile ringed Oceans. [Pacific, Indian and Southern] My force concentration is completely shot to hell.

None of these are my problems currently. Your military is your responsibility. Also, nobody is interested in Antarctica, so I wouldn't be too worried about defending it. Your set up pretty good for everything else. Your Navy, if you hadn't already realized, is entirely out of proportion and, if I remember correct, few, if any, of your boats are nuclear powered- there's another big problem. But no one is going to sell you uranium if your going to invade them because they happen to have a different ideological viewpoint.

I don't profess to be an expert on the Khan, I don't use it. I just thought you were being dismissive.

The bottom line here is this: I can't deal with your military problem, only you can. The way I see it, by making you cut back on stuff you don't need (like the Admirals and some of the other things) and focusing on stuff you do, like better littoral patrol capabilities and faster, smaller forces capable of quick movement around the worlds oceans to help deal with your spread out territory.

And for your size by E2 standards, your Naval force is by far the largest.

The agreement with Cot was exactly that, with Cotland, not me. I don't have to abide by the rules of a treaty I did not sign and you can't blame Cotland for anything, because I attacked you with chemical weapons, not him. Cotland cannot and does not infringe on my sovereignty and I do not and will not infringe on his, you should have known that this is the central core of the TOA. We are allies but retain full sovereignty and put no binding infringements upon each others ability to act as independent nations, which is what I did in this case.

Well there is the Great Eurasian Line, which connects all of Asia with Europe and into Ireland and Iceland even. We had plans to run it into Africa as well and possibly even up through Greenland and down into North America and eventually down into South America, effectively connecting the entire world with pipelines for the movement of petrol, gas, cables, trains, et cetera.

I'de be interested in adding my rail system into the Great Eurasian Line, although it depends on approval it would help connect the chechen states to the mainland of the CSN. Our system was orignally centered around Kirov, but a new one is being built to centralize Voldagrad (Yekaterinburg). While building this we could easily expand and connect to the system already inplace. It would help greatly [Unless the section that goes through the chechen states has been cut off] and we could even line it up to connect to Grozny. Plus it would promote the CSN's friendly policies toward other nations (Mainly Cotland who I would like to build better relations with, it gets annoying to border someone who could be precieved as an enemy)

Considering that I can't move along in India, and I really want to get back into action, I'm proposing this resolution in India to which Cotland needs to agree:

Saint Lazare [the city] will be put under Cottish protection for the next 60 days. The Royal family [minus Renaud] is discovered missing and likely dead. A search finds their bodies cremated near the courtyard. Renaud returns to Saint Lazare after the Cottish forces have secured the city, and Colonel Delacroix, for his late action, is granted supervision over the Security Forces for the Grand Duke Renaud [as the last surviving member of his family] under Cottish supervision. President Dandewante makes a trip to Saint Lazare, to affirm India's continued support for the Grand Duchy, and the new Grand Duke is crowned at the Grand Palais near the end of the Cottish supervision period. In the meantime, the Viceroyalty of Delhi makes financial preparations to compensate the loss incurred during Singha's dastardly attack, as volunteers offer to enter into Cottish India [or what remains of it] to help distribute the aid and help reconstruct the territory affected.

If any of this is not agreeable, please let me know Cotland. Otherwise, all ye prepare to receive the Grand Duke Renaud de Grimaldi-Roumillet.

well for starters...you could just deal with what you got (I.E. I have a computer that runs a Pentium 4 1.8 processor with a gForce 2 32 or hopfully 64 mem card and not even but close to 512 ram. All that after I use to have a very up to date comp...fucken drug money (not really...had to sell it but for other reasons) before I use to play CS:S all the time, now I just sit around and wank off to the fruity loops music generator =P

@ Hirg, where do you want me to deploy in LOS?

Well, as you can see, I haven't even got to the deployment yet. That'll start at 0600 in the RP. After that you can go ahead and deploy but it won't be for a bit (the whole Spizania thing drew me away from writing LOS for a while.)

You have two choices (for this initial stage) where you can position your forces for invasion:

Ghana
http://www.ccafrica.ca/country/ghana/map_political.jpg
(My Army forces will be invading from there at 0600, down south between Axim and Berekum. USB will also eventually have forces there.)

Senegal
http://scholar.lib.vt.edu/theses/available/etd-01498-9144/unrestricted/Senegal_19879.gif
(My base at Goudiri is the main hub of air and Light Infantry/Airborne offensive operations agains the Malians. USB will also have forces here.)

Also, in your post you said "Hirgizstani territory". It's actually "Hirgizstanian". I don't mean to be a stickler, but nearly everyone gets this wrong at some point. The plural for Hirgizstan is Hirgizstanian.
Remember it...or else ;).

Alright ppl, I haven't been participating much these past two weeks. I got a lot of things hanging over my head now and their number is only due to increase over the summer. One of those things being a major case of writer's block that basically came to be because I lost access to my Russian keyboard and that caused OB to die, thats an RP I think most about in the few times I ever think about RPing, I have the story and a good portion of the dialogue drawn out in my mind but I can't bring myself to put it together because I don't have a Russian keyboard which makes me feel like its all useless. That and my fear that it will come out awkwardly. Thus each time I try to RP I start thinking about OB and that makes me not want to RP anymore. So Im going to take a break, Lay ring me up a D13 for the next month or so atleast in which I will not attempt nor think of RPing in hope to replenish my creative energies, oh, and I'll buy some Russian letter stickers for my keyboard.

A heartfelt salute goes out to United States Navy Seal: Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael A. Monsoor who is going to be given the Medal of Honor for throwing himself on a grenade and saving his comrades.

He was 25 I believe when he was killed and had previously been awarded the bronze star and silver star for pulling a comrade out of harms way in a previous engagement.

That deserves 76 virgins or whatever, not the coward who blows up children...

I was reading some British paper the otherday and read about this Royal Marine who threw himself backward onto an enemy grenade. It went off and his huge daysack took the explosion. He lived, got nothing but some bruises and a bloody nose. Course, it might have been a bad grenade (in Vietnam, for example, the NVA and VC used ChiCom grenades, a Chinese made copy of the German potato-masher, and on more than one occasion GI's lived despite up to three landing beside them as they failed to go off they were so badly made. Its likely any the taliban have are old, perhaps even old ChiComs, and not as powerful as an M67 or equivalent.).

But still, any man who throws himself on a grenade deserves his country's highest honor, whether he lives or dies. Its got to be one of the most heroic acts in war.

(Incidentally, its not the first time in Iraq that a soldier has been killed shielding his comrades from a grenade, Corporal Jason L. Dunham, USMC did the same.)

Look Spiz, I know you are proud of your capital ships, but you seriously need to consider showing some more losses in your conflict with Hirgy. Hell when Pushka and I slugged it out in the Pacific we showed more capital losses than that with regular cruise missile exchanges from arsenal ships. Nobody has an inpenetrable AA, AM net no matter how many picket ships you use. Just my humble opinion from an outsiders point of view.

Actually if you read his blog he got the letter a while ago and knew about it a while ago but just made the post on April 1. It's actually legit [UN is utterly useless as I continue to assert]. I mean instead of actually fulfilling any part of their mandate they're going after web-bloggers. Obviously, the world is at peace and the UN has done its job. I mean what would they have done to the guy, invade him? They'd need the U.S. for that one.

I have no problems with that Lay. It would actually be a great way to get another main character (Deacon Weston, the pilot from New York we talked about) into the story (although he doesn't become a main character until late in the second part [also could we change him from a fighter pilot to an attack helicopter pilot?])

Sure we can it isn't a problem at all. He can be a pilot in the LFL flying an AH-101A Mayan attack helicopter. Where can they deploy and toss me some background on the situation and they'll gladly do the job. I'll put in a single unit of 1 regiment. I'll try to get an ORBAT up here in a few minutes.

Deacon Weston [on right]. Since I retired the AH-101 it's the AH-103 Cheyenne [Doom's Bellicus Mi-24 of death].

Aha, look up Beslan. Those animals don't deserve to be alive. And he is kontraktnik, not kontraktniki which is plural, and I don't give a shit. They blew up buildings in Moscow, they tried to invade Dagestan, they asked for this war.

--edit--

I have read a review, the book is obviously bullshit. Vladimir Voda (thats not a Russian last name btw, voda, means water, but thats not a last name) if he even exists was obviously trying to make a few bucks and the writer was trying to get shmacks like you to agree to hop on the "Russians are evil" bandwagon. Do you know how I know that all those claims are false? My cousin has been there, we don't fire on our own troops, how much of a retard must you be to actually believe that shit? Im sure the book is a nice work of fiction though. Jesus, euro-trash believe anything these days. I'll let my cousin look at it, he can use a good laugh.

Anyway, I also wrote up a draft of my EII version of the XM8 rifle...cut out the assault rifle (The bulky, non-carbine) variantion all-together in exchange for a more simple modification process with the regular 'carbine' version. I might even deploy some of the new guns into the chechen states. (Basically im going from a regular tech army to advance infantry tech...but everything else is still sad :()

FSB and GRU my friend. Drunk Cossacks and other soldiers. Generals telling their division and regiment commanders to make sure there's still combat in the area so that they keep getting the combat pay. FSB, GRU and OMON attacking the bases in order to maintain that illusion. Executions of prisoners. Black marketing. Russian colonels and generals quietly bringing out the Chechen oil and selling it for great profit. Just a few of the things revealed in the book and in other independent sources. Don't you just love independent critical journalism?

The author in case you didn't know is a highly respected Norwegian journalist who has been covering Russia since the early 1990s. I've personally listened to her giving a lecture on the situation in Russia at University and strongly doubt that she's got a beef with Russia. She's doing her job, providing critical journalism and showing what Putin is trying to sweep under the rug. Of course Russia don't like showing that it's violating human rights. What nation would?

It's 2.15 AM and I'm not in the mood to have a debate with a pig-headed Putin-lover who can't go through a discussion without at some point resorting to childish personal insults, so let's drop the subject. I know that Russia is conducting gross human rights violations in Chechnya and that it's a 300+ year Russian tradition to abuse Chechnya, and you refuse to accept the fact that Putin and Russia isn't the glorified saint you want him/it to be.

Well, firstly there is no oil in Chechnya, there is a pipeline going through Chechnya. Independent critical journalism is one thing, this obvious work of fiction is another. Russian soldiers are no saints, and its a brutal war, but the stuff that I read about that book, how FSB are posing as Chechens, that is complete and utter nonsense. There is a good video on youtube, I think it has subtittles, it was made by NTV (aka Putin bashing network of the past) before it was taken over by the government. It reveals the truth about Chechnya from interviews with numerous ex-soldiers who's last names aren't a drinking beverage. Next thing your "critical journalists" will come up with are riveting accounts by Boris Vodka, Anton Kvas, Andrei Samogon and Yuri Coca-Cola.

I have never heard of a respected Norwegian journalist, I have heard of numerous Norwegian drug addicts though, is she one of those as well? She is obviously a Russophobe and doesn't mind making a few bucks in the process. Not even the crazies at Kavkaz center tell of Russian Generals yelling for more bodybags, neither have there been any major operations in Chechnya for years. Conscripts no longer go to Chechnya btw, and my cousin was in the contract service for a year he served in both Dagestan and Chechnya. The Russian public doesn't care what happens to the Chechens, I know I don't, after witnessing with my own eyes the bombings in Moscow, and after Beslan I'd say we should just turn the place into one huge crater and run an oil pipe through that. Neither does the Russian gov't care much about what the west thinks, there is no reason for them to be sweeping anything under the rug. The mess in Chechnya interferes with business btw if you're into the whole Russia is ruled by Gazprom theory.

It's 2.15 AM and I'm not in the mood to have a debate with a pig-headed Putin-lover who can't go through a discussion without at some point resorting to childish personal insults, so let's drop the subject. kthxbai!

Im not a Putin lover for one, Im not pig headed for two (thx for showing your own Russophobia and racism btw). Russia is no glorified saint, Chechnya is one big brutal mess, but we already won that war and it is our land because we are stronger. And what, in your view the Chechens are saints? Between slaughtering whole Cossack villages along with children and women in the 20s and killing children today you'd think it would get a point across as to the nature of Chechens. Hell, lets look further, how about abducting women 200 years ago? How about the fact that some 400 thousand Russians living in Chechnya vanished between 1996 and 1999? How about the fact that almost every Chechen aul (village) keeps Russian slaves? Oh also, look up pictures of Grozny now, we have rebuilt the city, I actually saw a good set of pics that shows different buildings at the time of the first war and now. Who do you think built all the Chechen cities? We did. who do you think supplies them with heat and electricity? We do. Chechnya is our land, and it will be for centuries to come. Have a problem with it, convert to Islam, go to Kavkaz center, they'll find you a place on the frontlines, the moment you get there start counting minutes before you get capped by one of our 'incompetent' soldiers it shouldn't take long. I think I have every right to be pissed at you, you're sympathetic to child murderers.

One more word about "Bodyguard from Hell" by Siri Lill Mannes. From what I have read she makes baseless accusations of 1999 Moscow bombings being done by FSB. Basically this shows that she is one of the conspiracy crazies. Not only that, but it is also obviously clear the Alexandr Voda is a fictional character. Russian Army today is one of the most powerful militaries on earth, we have already won the war in Chechnya. The Picture Mrs. Mannes paints is based purely on her personal fantasies fueled with a good amount of Russophobia.

If you want some advice on how the Chechens fight in RL (if you want to use that) IM me. Im sending my Spetsnaz in to help you out, can you give me the link to the thread or atleast the thread name? Heh, 6 hour shifts? Try 8 hour shifts, and yes, sleeping even 6 hours a night is something that only happens once or twice a week. And its only to get worse as Im taking more credit hours in the summer, going to have to quit my job and find a part time job...balls. In other news, time flies by way too fast kids, I still can't believe I worked at Cintas for almost a year now.
