Stress streaks...indicates a weakness in the scales...only happens when things go bad for a really long time...or really harsh trials came up one after another after another...only used to happen during Tests. He told you that I'd probably be getting what he terms as "real" sleep...dictator that he thinks he is.

She kissed him back, just before he left, then looked around. This was a big house...she could hear him moving around upstairs. With a wave of her hand, she cleaned the dishes and sent them back to where they belonged, then began walking through the house. It felt so...empty. Rendelmar was older and bigger...but it felt alive, when you went walking through it in the late hours of the night. You could feel, even far away from anyone else, that there was someone else...Rhenna sighed, and returned to the study. She pulled out a book, but found it hard to concentrate. Too many things kept coming to mind.

The battle with Tellryon...first being split in half...Dragon and Drow facing each other, one preparing to annihilate the other...then coming to her senses. She remembered hitting the wall, and feeling so many bones snap or turn to powder, and she didn't know how she got that last spell out before giving herself up for dead...but at the next instant, acid was flowing over and around her, and Tellryon's blood flowed over her lips and down her throat. Her hand went over to the last, barely visible remant of an acid burn on her face, then up to her scales...while normally textured only slightly differently from the rest of her skin, they were harder now...brittle.
She opens a bag that Mith had told her to keep with her at all times. Tellryon's heart...what she'd use it for, she had no idea...all she knew was that now it would bend to her will.

Cougar, and the look in his eyes every time he looked at her...the way he kissed her...their first kiss *a smile crossed her face, briefly* that was absolutely breathtaking...the way she hurt when he did...
His memories of being in that tube...he'd collapsed four times now, three of them while he'd been with her...he said he'd dreamt of it...she hoped he was sleeping all right now.
The Leviathan Project...I wonder what said god would have thought.... She also wondered briefly what he would have thought of his chosen Bearer of the Black (now White) Flame falling in love with a Drow/Dragon...but it mattered little...unless he got really really angry...which he hadn't, as of yet.

Warfare...what happened to him? And while I'm busy worrying about other people...is Shan recovering well enough from his wounds? Who's covering my classes? Is anyone going around at night to make sure all the children are still sleeping comfortably? Now I know why Renor hates to be away...

Lastly, her mind drifted to what she'd been looking up...a potion, activated with a spell...when the time was right...if the time ever became right. Its effects were irreversible...if right, it would be a blessing...if wrong...it would be the worst thing she could do to either of them.

She looks back down at the book. "Oh, to hell with it." She sends it back to its spot, then draws up a chair and sits by the window. D'anthe had looked at her at her outburst, and came to perch on her knee.

"Look, D'anthe...you can actually see the stars here...sure, it's not the sky where we come from...but it's kind of hard to see anything in the underground fortress that is Rendelmar. It's kind of nice, for a change, don't you think?"

Costh, after having had 7 hours of sleep, got up and began looking for Ishrem or something to do, whichever came first.

Cougar was tossing and turning. His mind couldn't settle, he found it impossible to concentrate on one thing at once. He flew in random directions, his minds eye showing him any number of images,parents lying there, blood pouring from their skulls.... that tube, he was trapped, he couldn't escape.... Rhenna collapsing against the wall..... Finally, his mind snapped, and he woke with a start.

He sat up quickly, his mind active yet confused. He was covered in a cold sweat, and he felt cold. He swung his legs over the side of the bed, scrabbling for his boots. He found them, and did up the clasps. Getting up, he called,"Lights!". The lights flickered into life, and he went into the en-suite. Laying his hands on the top, he stared at himself in the mirror. He looked ok, but he didn't feel it. In his mind, he was thinking, What does she see in me? I know what I see in her... beauty.. Then he smiled, and checked his watch... he'd slept nearly 5 hours. Longer than normal. He grabbed his shirt and cloak, doing them up as he walked down the stairs. Now to find her...

Just never give any to Shan. Some people have no reaction to caffeine at all...and with others, whatever effects it may have are doubled. In Shan...they're at least quadrupled...and he starts having power flares.

Dark Warfare reappears. It is a small planet. the inhabitants are nobodies. Innocents. Dark Warfare smiles to himself. They would give his master much energy.
"NO! Don't do this, I'm not apart of you let me free."Warfare yells. After a struggle and a miracle, that is indeed true.Warfare and Dark Warfare are two seperate entites. Calling his armor and the Worldslayer to him, he turns to Dark Warfare to strike him down, but to late. With a mere Sword, Darkwarfare destroyes his good half. Warfare is no more. Dark warfare lets out an evil laugh, and takes warfares Armor, and the Worldslayer. He dons the Armor, and points the Worldslayer at the planet.
"Now Die." Dark Warfare says.
He plunges the worldsayer into the planet, it shrinks tremendously, then suddenly explodes with great force. Millions of innocent souls go to the Reaper, and empower him. Warfare disappears yet again. No one can find him, no except Death that is.

OOC: There is no more Good Warfare. The balance between Good and Evil hasthis as well, but shifted to Evil. Every living being can feel this on at least some level. All the Gods know this as well, but no one knows where to find warfare, and restore the balance. The Gods of Magic Fear that Merlins tomb may soon be opened, but that was a secret to be kept for all time. Not even they would know the location. Dark Warfare has an idea, but only Good Warfare knew the exact location. T'puuli and Plak'la both know the location of Cerberus, because he both Distorts the local TIme/space continuum, but he also twists local space around him to allow him to fit into anything he wants. The Magus mountains where he is now, change Geography daily. The Space Mage, Plak'la?, would know this, but not know why it does this, due to the secracy of Merlins Tomb.

At his hip, he wears a unique Gunblade, it's blade black, and a semi-automatic pistol in the hilt. His hands crackle with the White Flame, a unique magickal ablity. His skin is tanned, his blue eyes vivid in his face. *

OOC: This is all well and good, but for storyline purposes, Warfare is going to remain Evil. I mentioned that bit about Cerberus and his effects on Space and Time, because I figure by now at least, one of them would have noticed Cerberus, and his strange searching in the Magus Mountains. Remeber though, no one knows Merlins tomb is there. Cerberus knows its somewhere near there, and Dark Warfare knows its general location, but not its exact location. Another post coming tomorrow.

The glider lifts itself up and begins the journey toward the designated area.

"That's what I was going to do before you advised me not to. If I knew the source I could protect myself from it or deal with it." Costh replied as he sat down again to work on finding the source.

As they sped along, the visions around them altered. Intially, it was concrete and glass. Then, the rolling Viper plains. Finally, the Cobrian Rainforest came into view. Larger than the Amazon, and still intact, it was truly a sight to behold."What do you think?" he said, gesturing with his free arm (His other hand was in hers)

It's beautiful.

"I'd say so. There are so many beautiful things in the world... *shoots glance*this is just one of them. D'anthe, down here. It's just below and ahead of us"

They set down shortly afterward, and Rhenna steps off the glider.

Cougar stepped off after her, and covered her eyes. He took her by the arm, and led her to the edge of the cliff. It looked out over a pool of calm water, barley 50 ft below them. The water tumbled over the cliff in a glinting sheath, crashing to the pool below,"Take a look." he said, removing his hands from her eyes

*She'd been able to tell that it was a waterfall for a while, but the sight was breath taking*

It's beautiful isn't it. The best place on the planet, and no-one knows about it except me. We found it on exercise once, and never forgot it. I always wanted to bring someone special here... I've finally got my chance

She smiles at him. "I think it's safe to say that this is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen...and the company isn't bad, either."

He laughed,"We may be young and savage from time to time... but we can sure pick a planet. As for the company... well, I'll let actions speak for me," he finished, holding her by her waist, and kissing her

*Rhenna kisses him back, and lets the kiss linger. This is a moment I'll never forget, she thought to herself.*

Cougar watched the metallic bird being chased and couldn't help but laugh at it,"That other bird will leave him alone in a minute. He's in it's area, and they don't like it," As he spoke, a whole flock burst from the trees to their right, and flew into the distance,"What a sight for sore eyes... not that you make my eyes sore of course"

I should hope not. But I know what you mean...you've been through a lot.

"We've both through alot. It's good to finally get away from it all, for a time," he said, slipping his arm round her shoulders,"And you do anything but make my eyes sore!" He smiled at her, and kissed her softly, sweetly. He felt relaxed for the first time in ages... since before he had been to the Tower in fact...

The Eversor watched his target from afar. The orders were simple, eliminate the abomination. Vamp (for that was his name) was a master assasin, with over 500 hits to his name, in less than 5 years. He desevered the title of Master, and he continued to please those who employed him. His name came from his notorius habit of drinking the blood of his victims. Rumour had it that he developed his taste after a terrorist bomb went off in the church he and his family were attending. His body pierced by a crucifix, he survived by drinking his family's blood.

His suit (based on a Predator) allowed him to watch, but lacked the stealth of his Callidus sisters. He relied on brute strength, at close range. An Eversor's speciality. The suit carried various knives, some poisoned. Lethal.His mind screamed to make the hit, and take out the Xenos as well (Xenos = Alien). But he refrained, the situation was not right. Only when everything was perfect, he would take his chance...

Cougar pulled back after a few quiet moments, and sat a moment, staring into her eyes. He saw the warmth he felt returned, and smiled. She is amazing. Absolutely breathtaking, I'll never forget this. He stood, and began to undo his shirt,"I'm going swimming. Care to join me? It'll help you relax". He didn't wait for a reply, and stood a good six foot in his bare feet. He left his underwear on, but other than that piled his clothes someway from the edge. He paused, and dived. His arms hit the water, and he slid into it without little sound. He came up a few second later, and called up, his voice given an echo-like quality,"Come on! The water's great!"

And I was comfortable, too. *Even so, she stands and removes her cloak, then her over-shirt, revealing a sleeveless shirt underneath. Within its bag, Tellryon's heart begins to beat, and Rhenna feels on edge...like she's being watched. She looks up at D'anthe.*

D'anthe, doer ulu uns'aa, nin. *The glider perches on her wrist, and she talks to it quietly, seeming to be giving it a good natured scolding. It takes off again soon after. Rhenna zips Tellryon's heart into a little sub-reality, then levitates herself down into the water.*

This is nice. *On an impulse, she causes a gyser of water to rise behind him, and come down on top of him*

He spluttered as the water hit him, driving him under the surface. He came up a good 6 feet from his last position, gasping for breath. His hair was slick with the water, and darker than normal,"Told you it was nice. Not very funny though!" he called, causing one of his own

*She comes up beside him, pulling back her hair* Of course it was funny. Come on, you weren't going to get terribly much wetter, were you?

He laughed,"True. I don't think it matters." He trod water for a moment, then struck out for the far bank, some distance away...

Vamp watched as the mettalic bird flew away, and moved closer. Soon...

Rhenna watched him for a moment, then leaned back and let herself float, looking up at the sky. The prickling feeling at the back of her neck was impossible to ignore...but if there was anything out there, D'anthe would find it...

D'anthe circled the area, looking for whatever it was that had caught Rhenna's attention...she had an accute sense of anything around her, and if this was making her nervous...it couldn't be pleasant.

Vamp stood stock still. The bird was circling, as if it were looking for something. This could become a problem, one that needed to be rectified as soon as possible...

Cougar came up beside her,"Something wrong?"

D'anthe stopped his circling to chase after one of the birds that had grabbed a bite of food and taken off. He kept aware of the location of the thing that had moved, then stopped...but spies must be careful.

He paused,"Usstan xun satiir folbol nindel 'udtila naut wund'akh. Ol zhah... b'vecko. Ulu telanth l' mzulst."

Vamp saw the bird move away, and began to tread softly across the jungle floor. It would be a challenge to attack his target now... more the better

*The bird comes to her and keeps its wings spread, making a screen. On it he put the image of the other humanoid.*

Costh as he travelled the universe in astral form bounced between hundreds of magical and temporal magical distortions including Snake Eater Prime and Mirrodem before he had to take a break and return to his body, 18 hours after he started. Having searched about twenty percent of the universe he headed to the kitchen to get some food before heading to bed so he could restore himself to search again.

Cougar studied the image, noting a number of things.He muttered, mostly to himself,"So... the Master Eversor has been sent. Why though? I'm sure we will find out soon enough"


Vamp burst from his hiding place, the shruiken star in his hand. He dropped low close to the edge of the cliff, and peered over. Down below, the target and his companion were looking at something... He couldn't tell what from here. It did not matter. He rose one hand, and threw the star with deadly accuracy. It wizzed through the air, buzzing as it went...


Cougar heard the noise, and looked. He saw the star coming towards them, and pushed Rhenna away. At least she would be safe. He turned his head, and the star glanced him, leaving a gash on his cheek. Blood flew in specks into the water, plainly obvious. He looked up, and saw the suited man making his way down the cliff in great leaping bounds.Oh shit!

*Rhenna levitates up, allowing herself to take her half-dragon form. Dark, deadly energy crackles in her hand and launches itself at the attacker.*

Cougar brought himself out of the water, and summoned his knife. Secreted in his boot, he knew how to use it, and he had an idea...

Vamp saw the Xenos change its form, and stared,Amazing! But they will still die! he thought, as he moved out of the way of the attack...

Cougar grabbed the knife from the air, and then moved with his speed behind his attacker. Kicking him in the back of the knee forced him to go down, and Cougar was on top of him in an instant, pulling his helmet off, drawing the head up, pressing the knife to his flesh...

Rhenna hovers nearby, a deadly spell aimed at the attacker's head. Her eyes glowed, fully dragon at the moment.

James looked at her,"Calm down Rhenna. We'll kill this fucker... but first I want information"

He looked at Vamp,"So Vamp, who hired you?"

"I don't know. We don't get told!"

"Bullshit! You don't work freelance. You work for the clan, and the clan does government jobs"

"NO! I was hired by a guy who refused to give his name or anything... merely said you needed eliminating. We don't question why, we just do the job!"

Cougar stopped a moment, still pressing the knife to Vamp's throat,"OK. What can you tell me, if anything, about the circumsatances of this hire. KNow the banker?"

"No, never heard of him. This guy's new on the circuit, but he's been hiring fairly regulary quite recently. All soliders..." Vamp slumped. He had released a nerve toxin into his bloodstream. The master Eversor was dead...

Cougar checked his pulse, then dropped him to the floor,"Dead. Poision of some sort. Looks like someone out there wants me dead..."

I can make him talk...you can't tell anyone that we know how to do this...much like everything else we do.

Cougar thought carefully, then nodded. He didn't like the idea, but he wanted answers,"Do it"

*Setting down on the ledge, Rhenna let herself reassume her Drow form. Using a spell completely forbidden by the laws of Kaymiril, she summoned Vamp's soul back to his body. He would be unable to do anything but talk...and he would have to answer the questions posed to him.*

Vamp's eyes snapped open. He couldn't move, and only his jaw muscles worked,"What the hell?"

Cougar stood over him, now dry and getting dressed in the clothes he had retrieved,"Well Vamp. Who hired you?"

"All right. What was the pay?"

"Nearly a million Snake Lira."

"Where did it come from?"

"A bank account, hidden"

"Which account?"

"Dr. Frank Harrod"

"Not at all. He's been hiring people for a while, to take out experiments. You are the last. I don't know who actually hired me though"

"Why?"

"You are dangerous. You need to be destroyed"

"ANd where is he?"

"I don't know. Never got the information. The encryption was similar to that of Nagodden though"

Cougar needed no more information. He stabbed the knife into Vamp's heart, killing him for the second time. As the body collapsed, he followed suit. His entire world went black again, and he was back in the tube, thrashing around..

*Rhenna teleports Cougar up to where they'd arrived, and pulls on her over-shirt before casting a spell to stop the thrashing. She cradles his head on her lap and waits for him to wake up.*

After fifteen minutes, Cougar slowly opened his eyes. He saw Rhenna over him, and relaxed. He felt safe, but cold,"Did it happen again?"

She nods. "You stabbed him and then collapsed yourself."

"It's the least he deserved. And now I'm scared Rhenna. Really scared," his hand went to his cheek,"That's gonna scar. Oh well, can you live with that?"

Dark Warfare reappeared, on Epseus, he knew those Weaklings at the White Tower would try and oppose him. He would try to get a couple on his side. He reached out, and spoke to Costh, in his mind.
"Costh, Costh, listen to me, I need your help, but you can't tell anybody. Something very bad is going to happen soon, and I need an experienced Rune mage such as yourself. Ishrem is to old, and more suited for a library, I need a young mage such as yourself. I can teach you more than you ever thought possible, all I ask is that you help me, help me save the world. This Rune you see in your mind will take you to my side, all you have to do is think of it, and it will draw itself and take you to me. No one else can see it, no one else can know of this. If they did, they would try and stop you, they would try to take the glory and knowledge for themselves, they would never share it. I need your help." Warfare said, in his most convincing manner. He hid his Evil aura and made him self seem good and innocent, which added weight to his words.
To the mysterious mage on Snake Eater Prime which was spying on Couger and Rhenmet he said:
"Little Mage, You want to know much, yet recieve little help. You see the way the treat you? You would only recieve more of the same from the others at the tower of Hoeth. I can teach you much, if you come to me, your fire knows the way, I have shown it the way. You must not tell them of this though, or they will lie to you and call me Evil, The one with the Gunblade already lied to you about his defeat of the Devil, do you really think a mere mortal could accomplish such a feat? Nay, it was I who defeated the devil, not he. Come to me young Mage, and learn at the feet of a God."

Dark Warfare wandered around the Magus Mountains, he would know instantly when one of the began to teleport to him. He would catch them, and teleport them to his current location.
Cereberus sensed Dark Warfare, and began to run to his location. Dark Warfare knew where Merlins Tomb was, he wouldn't let Cerberus down.

In a dark place hiden from mortal knowledge, the Reaper stood, and slowly began to gather power again...

Costh having recived the message* while he was sleeping, woke up with a start. He then headed to the kitchen, grabbed something to eat and headed back out side. He then activated a rune enabling him to reach out and talk to another(magickal telepathy**). He then called out*** to Warfare asking "Why should I aid you Warfare when you tried to kill me in a training match?"

"Thanks," he said, taking the cloak and doing up the clasp. ONce that was done, he sat up, and took her hand,"Sorry this day hasn't gone as we expected."

He looked at Vamp's body,"I have one more thing to do..." He stood up, letting go of her hand briefly. He stood, and allowed the White Flame to erupt around him. He extendended his hands,"We pray for souls adrift on the tide..." he said, letting loose a blast that incinerated the body,"Rest in Peace old friend. Rest in Peace"

She stood as well, and summoned her cloak while retrieving Tellryon's heart.

He looked at her,"We should head back. Don't want to get caught on the ground at night here"

*She nods and guestures to D'anthe, who comes down and reassumes his glider form*

To D'anthe, "take your time" doesn't mean anything, save that he doesn't need to go as fast as he possibly can. They still approach the Cougar mansion at a good clip, and set down not long after leaving the falls.

Cougar stepped off the glider, and looked around, The square looked just as he remembered it... peaceful, quiet. Well lit, and airy. It was indeed a beautiful place to live... although he doubted if he would ever return permantely. He approached the door, and deactivated the security system. With it off, he opened the door, and gestured to Rhenna,"A 'humble' aboud for you"

A sense of weariness seems to exude from her...something built up over the centuries and constantly ignored.

I don't know...just before Renor brought me back to Rendelmar, Mith gave it to me and told me to always keep it with me. Something along the lines of "the dragon's heart is its most powerful organ, and those who slay the dragon can unlock its powers." Other than that...I know nothing. I was planning to look it up last night, but we came here, instead. *Smiles at him briefly*

He thought carefully. The words made sense to him, in a strange sort of way. It didn't matter in any case. He smiled back at her,"You'll figure it out. No-one else could, I know that much. And I'm glad we came here... even though Vamp came after us. It's been good to get some downtime"

She kisses him back, then heads upstairs. Going into one of the guest rooms she'd discovered the previous night, and laid down.

D'anthe leaves her, and Rhenna drifts into a dreamless sleep.

Cougar moved swiftly through the house. It was as if he had never left. He quickly found the safe, and tapped in the combination. It was filled with a small amount of Snake Lira, and a multitude of documents. Most were related to the family through the years. Now, he wanted to see what they read. It was not deception as to the reason he had not told Rhenna, but he wanted to look at these before they were shown to anyone else. He wanted to understand who he was. He clicked on the desk lamp in the living room, and began to read. As he did so, he gestured at the radio, turning to his favourite station. He turned the volume down, and read...

D'anthe perches on his head. "Krrawwk?"

Cougar looked at him,"You know I can't understand you D'anthe"

The glider merely spouts off more gibberish, ending with a "gentle" peck to the top of Cougar's head.

As morning broke, Cougar was slumped in the chair, the radio still on. The journal lay open on the final page..

So comes my final entry. I do not doubt that my son will continue this, and allow the tales of the Cougar to flow from generation to generation. Live my son, live your life full and proud of who you are.

Rhenna comes down and sees him. She smiles slightly, and conjures a notebook, where she begins writing what appears to be something complex...in Drow. She'll let him wake up on his own.

Nearly an hour after Rhenna had come down, Cougar stirred. His eyes opened, and he looked around. He saw her in a nearby chair writing something, and heard the radio in the background. He gestured, and then spoke,"Sleep well?"

Yes...and for longer than I expected, as well. What about you? Did you find what you were looking for?

Yes.... and no. I wanted to find out more about my history, this book is the only link I have, and I don't have the time to tip-toe round it. I know that one day I must sign my name, and then that is that. The line will be extinguished

I saw something in one of the texts saying that if someone who defeated Kaelis Ra survives, Ra would be defeated until the line died out...if Ra can come back after your death...there will be no new bearer, and your country will fall.

He hung his head,"I know. I found out myself. My sacrifices were for nothing in the long run. Ra will destroy this country, and theres nothing I can do"

D'anthe, who'd been sitting silently on some surface or another all night, suddenly caws, and goes down to Rhenna.

*He turns into his communication mode, and Vrasha and Rhenna exchange words in rapid Drow.*

We have to go back...Shan's taken a turn for the worse.

Cougar was already moving. He had heard enough of the conversation to pick up the jist of it, and had grabbed his cloak, doing up the clasp around his neck,"Let's go then. I'll take this with me*indicates the book*Your way of getting there or mine?"

I still can't open a portal. *She teleports the both of them to his ship.* So we'll just have to do this again.

"Alright," he said, moving with precision and grace. His hands tapped consoles, and the craft began to hum,"Word of warning. I'm going to push this thing, so you know if you feel a little wierd"

She nods. "Just get us there."

He nodded, and punched in the commands. The ship hummed with barely suppressed energy, and then it winked in and out of existence...


Barely an hour later, the Dauntless came into orbit around Kaymiril. Cougar didn't waste his time, and the impulse engines whinned under the strain,"C'mon baby, hold together" he whispered, looking out the viewscreen at the fire licking round the edges of the craft. Mithdelmar came into view, and he opened the air-brakes to maximum. They touched down softly, and he left the ramp up, indicating that they were back in Kaymiril

Rhenmet teleported them directly to Rendelmar, and left Cougar in the Great Hall as she teleported to the medical wing.

The young mage's breathing was shaky, and he was covered in sweat. The wound had reopened, and Rhenna could tell by looking at him that the fever was dangerously high.

She and Vrasha went to work...attempting to save his life.

IC: Cougar knew that Shan was in a critical condition, but he couldn't help. He instead tried to read again, but found his mind wandering. He slammed the book shut, and went back to his designated room. ONce there, he laid the book and Gunblade down, hung up his cloak, and went for some physical exercise. Nothing calmed him down more than that

OOC: Balrogga, we have had some really wierd developments. Ok, basically, Rhenna killed the Dragon, Cougar has been getting flashbacks of his past when he was a lab-rat for the Leviathan Project (New thread plot), and Warfare is now Dark Warfare and is evil

IC: Cougar dropped from the pull-up bar, landing softly. He rubbed his hands together, and looked at Renor,"I know we weren't away for long, but she insisted. Who am I to argue with a woman like that? I hope he pulls through though"

OOC: Hi, Balrogga! Have fun?

IC:
Vrasha called Rhenmet back? H'mmm....it appears that he went worse than I thought. Well, better than having her pull an interplanetary teleport, I suppose.

Cougar nodded, wiping his hand across his brow,"From what I can gather, yeah, Vrasha called her back. An interplantery transport would have been nigh impossible at the moment. It took longer, but the runabout is just as safe."

Safer, actually. Interplanetary teleportation is difficult and dangerous even for the High Masters. Portals work well, but require a lot of energy.

I thought as much. I have no choice in the matter yet, as I cannot teleport or open portals at all

You still need more control before you can teleport.

OOC: Now would be a really great time for that sparring match.

I know that much, no fear. By the way, I never saw you as a swordsman. I knew you could use them, but not that well

All mages who study here must be proficient in several styles of fighting with several weapons.

OOC: I'm having a real hard time setting this up, it's not easy

*Renor turns his head to look over at the other students training in that room.*

You can see the varying levels of skill. Some are better at weaponry, others at magick. Some never find what they're better at, and others still are proficient at almost everything. Even among this small group, we achieve balance.

It's the same wherever you go. Some are good at one thing, some at another, a few are brilliant no matter what they do. Always the same... even during my SHADOW training.

One of the sparring matches breaks into a real fight. The boys are barely older than Shan, and one has skill far superior to the other. Renor watches for a few minutes, and then intervenes, sending both boys tumbling.

"Nindel orn tlu reiyal z'lonzic."

"Siyo, Veldruk."

Cougar looked on at the fight, watching with interest,"They will learn in time. However, impressive skills"

They're forty-five and fifty, respectively. They will learn in time. A minor dispute come onto the training floor. Normally, this is encouraged...but Zaris has the potential to be deadly, and Isra's domain is magick.

Rivalary? It is not uncommon, one trying to upend the other at every turn. Happens to everyone... however, Zaris does look dangerous. If he is not careful, he will end up killing another student

ONly twenty years. It is surreal to hear you say that in such an offhand manner, and yet I have only been alive 26 years.


OOC: I don't know how to set up the match. HELP!

OOC: Don't worry about it, then. It would have been fun, but w/e.

When you think in terms of centuries, a decade or two here and there becomes inconsequential.

OOC: I still want it to happen, but somehow I doubt Cougar would just challenge Renor, he's not stupid you know

IC: Easy for you to say. You live five hundred years

We can live up to eight hundred. Rhenmet, due to her dragon blood, can probably live up to a thousand.

OOC: H'mm....I might be able to find a way.

Cougar put his hand to his head,"Just thinking on that time scale gives me a headache. We're lucky if we live to be a hundred"

*Zaris squares off against seemingly no one, with his wooden sword in Renor's general direction.*

Z -- Veldruk, malar uns'aa.

Renor takes Izra's blade, and Zaris launches himself at his master's master. Renor locks blades and sends him tumbling.

R -- Xuat xun nindel 'sohna.

Z -- Siyo..

Bold. Very bold. But foolhardy in any case, thought Cougar as he watched Renor defeat Zaris with ease. He picked up on the Drow, and smiled at Renor's words

OOC: I see...

OOC: So it didn't work.

IC:
Renor hands the blade back to Isra.

IC: "Renor, wait a second" said Cougar, stepping into the arena. He had been thinking how stupid this was, but he was feeling energetic. He needed a true challenge at the moment. His intention was clear,"Shall we?"

Zaris, belbau ukta l' velve.

*Zaris hands over his blade, and Isra steps back*

*Renor raises his blade, and the students gather around the perimeter...when Renor sparred, it was always something to see.*

Cougar summoned another sword to his hand, and stood his ground. Let your oppenent attack first... man, this is such a dumb idea!

I'll allow you the first strike.

Cougar narrowed his eyes a fraction. Renor was about the same height and build as him, but had years of expierence. Sure, by human standards Cougar was a master, but to a Drow? That would be interesting. He circled, keeping his blade in a nice defense position, keeping his eyes on Renor. Suddenly, he struck, covering the ground in an instant. His blade crashed into Renor's and he held his ground

OOC: Renor's shorter than Rhenmet. He might be 5'6.5" at most...I have no idea what that translates into meters...

IC:
Renor kept his blade between himself and Cougar, and sidestepped Cougar's attack faster than Cougar covered his distance ((Drow are renowned for speed)) and whacked a blow to Cougar's side.

OOC: I was close. Cougar is about 5'11''

IC: Cougar wheezed as the blade struck his side, then rolled with it, coming up on his feet away from and facing Renor,"Good hit"

*Renor brings his blade back up*

OOC: I thought the UK used Metric instead of Standard. *Confused*

OOC: Normally, we do. But I prefer my height in feet and inches as opposed to metres. NAd the mile of course

IC:Cougar stood,He's forcing my hand. Making me attack. Not anymore.

Renor waits for the taller man to attack, but he sees the expression.

"Trust me, you'd rather attack me than have me attack."

"Maybe, but no matter what, my speed cannot match yours," said Cougar, taking the advice, and launching another attack. The blade whislted through the air with precision...

Renor blocks the blow, then shoves Cougar back, launching and attack of his own. Letting his blade come in from the left, he launched a kick to the right.

Cougar saw the blows, and blocked the blade first, whilst bringing his own leg up to block the kick. As he knocked the blade aside, and halted the leg, he threw a kick of his own, along with another strike towards Renor's shoulder

Dodging Cougar's blade, but taking a glancing kick to the side, he moves toward the human instead of away, bringing up his blade-hand to land a punch. Renor's fist ((would)) hit his pupil's shoulder like a rock of the same size. He then dodges back before the human can retaliate.

Cougar felt the punch land, and reacted with his training. His free hand came up, and grabbed Renor's wrist, twisting it quickly. Cougar then drove his elbow into Renor's chest, letting go of the wrist and spinning round so that he faced Renor's back. He again brought the blade up, and then down, aiming for the back of Renor's knees

Renor spun. He heard the blade coming toward his knees, and he jumped over it, executing a mid-air turn so that he was standing on the flat of the blade, and he clips the human over the head.

OOC: Very Kill Bill

IC: Cougar whipped his blade away from Renor's legs, grabbing them and pulling at the same time. However, his grip was realeased as Renor hit him, so he flipped backwards, and stood. This was becoming very interesting

Renor pulled a similar flip as Cougar sent him flying, and lands on his feet, blade still up.

OOC: I never watched that movie...bits and pieces...but never the whole thing.

OOC: First one is good, second is slower

IC: Cougar locked his wrists, and advanced again. This was proving to be much better for him than he had anticipated

Renor set his blade, and stood his ground, waiting for Cougar to attack.

Cougar struck, his blade twisting one way before switching direction and coming at Renor from the other...

Attack from the left...wait...foot placement...the true attack will come from the right

Renor stepped back to avoid the first "swing," then slammed his blade into Cougar's.

"This is the first real challenge I've had in a while...save for the battle with S'gart."

Couagr held fast,"Thanks. Not often you get a challenge then". He held Renor's blade in place, then struck with a kick, attempting to knock Renor off his feet

Renor jumps, using his blade, locked with Cougar's, as a balance, then pulls himself into a tight somersault, letting his feet out enough to whack the human under the chin.

Cougar felt the feet connect, and flew backwards. He rubbed his jaw, the struck again. He moved back in, not letting Renor recover. The blade came down again, aiming for the chest...

Renor reeled slightly from Cougar's first attack, but stepped -- more accurately, whipped -- aside for the second one, and brought his blade out, parallel to the ground at his shoulder level, and whacked Cougar across the chest instead.

Cougar felt the blow, and reeled himself. His hair was in his eyes, but he could still see. He knocked Renor's sword down, and smashed his blade towards the mage
