ooc:Costh and Gena both have elven, dwarven, orkish, as well as a few other creatures DNA but the human DNA is the primary dominant in most traits.

Maybe that's how it happened in your country, kiddo...but that would make yours incredibly unique. For all intents and purposes, however, you are human, with all the limitations and gifts of that race.

The glyph archmage ,of the land my mages come from, which is the top rank of mage is the single most powerful rune mage in the world(s). The reason he is not training mages is that he is training in a special pocket dimension that is the most deadly training ground in all dimensions/world/ planes ect.
Also it is a not a GM as he will never be used I'm just stating that human mages can far excede elves in power with the proper training.

OOC: I'm not sure when I'll continue Gena's training. Areath's still making up her mind as to whether or not she's willing to train a "necro"...and what is commonly accepted as the number of planes around here is 35. Pocket dimensions are not the most deadly places...the 18th plane would be. (odd planes = "higher" planes, even planes = "lower" planes). You really should research before you speak...Princess Annastrianna managed to out-fight Death -- And she's not even classified as a mage.

ooc:I know that Princess Annastrianna defeated death in the Warhaven/sliver thread. The PD was created to be a literal hell, designed to push a mage beyond anyother force. A mage who lets thier guard down for less than half a second often wind up dead. It is made to be unsurvivable to all but the absolute best of the best of the best.

ooc:The closest the mages who found/studied the PD determained that to the best of thier sciences it was a congeled area of primal chaos, which was before the gods and was what the universe was prior to the birth of the original gods.

Arcime, with his sharp hearing got up and walked over to the brash youth.
"So, you think you can beat a mage in any class, then try me. Wizards don't Master one class, we master them all. And if you think you can beat me, you've got another think coming..." Arcime said. Energy crackling dangerously all over his body.

"I belive I said 'that blow for blow I could match any mage of an equal class reguardless of race'. You are of a superior class than I am. Thus I in all likelyhood couldn't defeat you if I tried." Costh replied

Ramick laughs half-heartedly. "What's the matter, Costh? Your cockiness seems to be drowned out by fear."

Something flashed across Arcime's senses, with a start he cried out: "Lady Warfare, if you are able to return, please do so. I must return to protect that which must remain hidden."

A flower grows in the center of the field, a Black Lotus, warfare's personal symbol.From out of it springs Warfare.

"Then go, That for which I had to leave is now accomplished. Take my blessing with you." Warfare said. Arcime leaves in a flash and a bang.

OOC: If you think carefully, I've already told you about that which must remain hidden. Those who have viewed the end of SE's thread know what happened. I have decided to go through with the RP, after, Balrogga has a chance to do one after Kaymiril's thread. This is going to take a couple of RP's to resolve.

"Not fear, so much as a belief the if this 'wizard' is who I belive he is, then he would be classed as two levels above mine and thus for all practical purpose unbeatable by me." Costh said

"You wish a 'test' of your powers then? Arcime is gone, but I remain. I am a God, we all know you, can't beat me, however, I can provide a test, to see just how powerful you are. This offer is open to either of you, or both at the same time, if you want to tag team me." Warfare said, shifting to male form. He dons his arm with a wink and a nod, and stands ready.

"I would be willing to do battle with you either alone or tag-team if you wish." Costh replied

The sky darkened and the field brightened, an energy barrier surrounded the field. Warfare transported Costh to the center of the field and picks the Rare Black Lotus.
"Tell me, what is your area of specialization? I do not wish to use something against you that you cannot handle. I have been away for a while, and do not know these things." Warfare said.

ooc:Ramick is the gray-eyed, timid mage that is my character.

ic:Ramick is thrown into deep thought. The concentration summons stars around his head. "Hmm... There are a couple of spells that I have studied are usable. Well, I've got nothing to lose." Ramick's aura grows 3x more powerful.

"My area of magecraft is rune magicks." Costh replied as some of the runes on him began to glow.

"Runes, okay, lets start easy." Warfare said.
Warfare inscribes a simple Rune in the air and 5 small geysers shoot at both mages.

"Alright then." A rune on Costh's left hand glowed bright blue and 5 shields of equal diameter appeared infront of the geysers.

ooc:assuming you mean water jets

Warfare nods, and inscribes another rune, and he splits into three diffrent bodys, and surrounds the young mage. He lifts a hand on each body, and shots a tri-elemental attack. All three warfare remerge. Knowing full well they wwould easily be blocked, warfare inscribes a small rune in the air, and causesa small tremor under the mages feet, the Tri-elemental attack was merly a diversion.

Costh activated a rune on his left shoulder and one on his finger, causing it to glow green and red respectivaly. As the Tri-Attack hit him full on it was absorbed throught the green and fired out at Warfare throught the red. As he feels the tremor a rune on his foot glows an he lifts off the ground by one meter.

Warfare concentrates, the attack blows buy him and is absorbed by the barrier. Warfare inscirbes a rune in the air and causes a small explosen centered upon Costh

Utilizing a rune to draw the blast into a small ball he then activated a rune which caused a pale copy* of it to appear on the ball and Warfare. He then threw the ball at Warfare.

ooc:*homing spell, both runes are drawn together

Warfare simply allows the blast to hit him.
"You reciprocate will." Warfare complimented Costh.
Warfare brings his arms down sharply and creates three diffrent sets of hands. One hand draws a rune which causes a rock to fly out of nowhwere at the young mage, another draws a Rune which causes a jet of flame to shoot at him, a third causes a rain of Blades to fall from the sky, aime for the youn mage, the fourth causes a bolt of electricity to shoot at him from random pathways, the fith hand causes a beam of intensified light to strike the mage, the sixth and last handcauses a meteor to fall from the sky and hit the mage.

OOC: A six way attack.

Costh activated a rune sequence* composing of 4 separate runes, this was one of his favorite counters, causing him and Warfare to switch places. "Thank you." Costh replies.

ooc:a rune sequence spell is a spell that requires mulitple runes to provide one effect. They are logically much more powerful than a normal rune.

All the attacks hit Warfare full on. After the pass, Warfare simply falls apart. He melts into a pool of goo and reassembels himself.
"Unexpected, try this, I'm going to use what is known as a Sword Technique. Sword Techniques combine physicalmight and Magickal power to creat a special effect." Warfare said. Warfare pulls out his gunblade, he holds it in both hands at arms length. Suddenly without warning he starts to spin at such a high speed, that he causes a tornado to stir, an F5. This was a Swordtech known as the Tornado spin.

ooc:have to post my reply later, need time to think and need to get to bed.

Ishrem watched. This is why you don't take students who already know what they're doing...you can't teach them anything, especially when they're doing things wrong.

OOC: italics signifies thought.

As Warfare spun in his 'tornado' Costh activated a shield rune to give him time to come up with a workable plan. "I knew I should have taken advance weather, instead of sociology." he muttered "Wait a second, since I know I can't end it, lets use it instead." Costh activated a rune on his forehead, causing the tornado to become a vortex as well which drew all air down and out of the tornado. While the attack might not effect a god it would be devestating to any human opponent.

"Hmm, you don't seem to need any training at all. Fine then, I'm not going to hold back any longer, lets step this up a notch"Warfare delcared.
Stopping, Warfare waved a hand and turned the atmosphere in the energy barrier into poisonous gas.

Renor appeared briefly at the Tower and signaled to Vedt before both of them teleported back to Rendelmar. Mith went directly back to Mithdelmar, and was more than happy to see that they'd managed to hold together this time.

OOC: I have returned!

IC: The Dauntless popped into existence above Kaymiril, and began the fiery descent to Mithdelmar. Cougar guided it skillfully through the storms, and they touched down with great ease,"Welcome home Rhenna"

He found the training room, and settled down to his practice... Still, that feeling of being watched...

"Come out Shan, I know you're there," he said, the blade whipping out, and pointing at a hazy patch of air

As the arena's air changed to gas Costh utilized a rune perched on the bridge of his nose. As it began glowing, it also grew to cover his eyes, nose and mouth in a glowing 'breath-mask'. Since Warfares attacks were increasing in strenght Costh activated one of his more powerful shields.

Now I'm just getting paranoid. Sorry about that, but I cannot sleep anymore. I've got a lot on my mind at the moment.

"HEHEHE" warfare simply chuckled. with a snap, the Poison suddenly turned into water, bithe Costh and Warfare were no under it, as it filled the entire courtyard. The onlything holding it back and in, was warfare's sheild spell.

The invisibility spell rippled as Renor came out.

She went to the Libary as soon as we returned, claiming she had something to look up. I've a feeling it's linked to what happened on Snake Eater Prime. But, I'm not going to press the issue, I feel she doesn't want me to"

R -- I have had Vhid in there, watching her. She's still there, working through the same books. More disturbing, according to Vhid, is that she appears to see or hear things that aren't there, some of the time. There may very well be a logical reason for it...but if it is, I shudder to think what it would mean.

"So you share my concerns. She said that she had seen something in her dream, maybe that script is what she's looking for. I'm worried though, and not just because I love her, although that is a large part. Anybody seeing anything that isn't there is a cause for questions to be raised"

According to Mith, her dragon blood makes her all but impervious to mental diseases...so my guess is that something is invading her mind. And I would not doubt that she's looking for that, if it seemed to bother her so much.

"Water, I hate water.*" Costh shouted at Warfare as he incased himself completely in stone** as he let loose a massive electircal surge into the water

And all we can do is stand on the sidelines and watch. Damning, but unforunatley it is the truth. Although, we should try and check texts on black-dragons, see if this sort of thing happens to them

With good reason. Ask Rhenna about the Threat three hundred years ago...she'll probably be able to tell you better, even though I was there.

Warfare smiled, and made the lightning turn into Lava, which continued to expand at a rate in which, if Costh didn't react quickly, he would be melted. Warfare simply turns into Darksteel. As the Lava expanded, the water contracted, until Lava replaced Water.

She attacked you when she was being forced to. If I am right, she isn't dangerous. However, if you're afraid, I guess you don't get to hear the story.

OOC: Wow...Renor's grumpy at three in the morning...

Grumpy bastardo. He's right though. Cougar moved swiftly, a flitting shape between shadows. Eventually, he came to the libary. Looking around, he spotted Rhenna,"Hey! Are you alright?"

Cougar's voice being the first real sound in hours, and coming unexpectedly ((she'd have heard his footsteps, but she was concentrating)), it made her jump. She turned around.

"Don't do that. And yes, I'm all right." She looked at a nearby timekeeper. "Shouldn't you be asleep? It's an ungodly hour."

Sensing the immense heat, Costh saw the oppertunity to use one of the most powerful fire spells which while immensly powerful need certain conditions to activate and was moderatly dangerous. Thank you Warfare he thought with a grin as he began drawing the heat out of the lava into him. As he absorbed the heat rendering the lava into obsidian his eyes blazed so brightly that it could be seen through out the Tower as twin beams blasted out of his eyes directly at Warfare. Once the beams had left him he began shivering as the massive drop in heat left him almost hypothermic.

"Sorry about that, but sneaking up on you and grabbing your shoulders seemed worse. And does it matter what the time is? I've slept enough. I should really explain myself," he pulled up a chair,"somethings bothering you Rhenna, and not knowing what is driving me insane. I spoke to Renor, and he told me to ask you. He meantioned the Threat, and the Calling. What is going on?" His eyes spoke the story, how he was telling the truth

Rhenna marked her place in the book and closed it, then put her head in her hands.

"The Threat and the Call...where to start? I was seven when the Threat ended. That was actually the reason Renor found me...I don't remember it very well, except from the histories I've read. All I remember is being lost, and alone, and afraid. And a body. I think it was my mother's, but I can't be sure."

Cougar sensed he dredged up horrible memories,"Rhenna, I'm sorry. I should have kept myself to myself" He reached out, and touched her knee,"Do you want me to go?"

"He's trying to kill me, fine then, I shall return the favor." Warfare thought. Warfare concentrated on his partivles, and accelerated them greatly. He began to shimmer, as if that wasn't enough, he also cast a hast spell on himself. Everything shimmered, and suddenly they were on the Battlefield of the Gods, Costh was seriously screwed now.
Warfare disgarded his common Gunblade, and drew out his secret weapon, his holy weapon, the Worldslayer. Warfare's armor changed to a jungle Green, and seemed to be skintight rubber. His face was no longer seen as a visor covered it, not even slits for sight could be seen. Sheething the world Slayer, Slots opened up an his arms, legs, and a chest cavity opened. On his back side, a giant missle protruded suddenly. Rows of missles sudden;y shot out of Warfare's armor, and the missle on the back was marked Ultima. It shot as well. Each and every Missle homed in on Costh, and even if the missed, or Costh traded places with Warfare again it still wouldn't matter, the resulting blasts would be enough to level Austraila.

The Threat was a Dragon. He was sealed somewhere three hundred years ago...up until that point, he had been a great threat to this nation. It was a Black Dragon. Occasionally he would demand a maiden...and sometimes, on very rare occasions, he would return one. That maiden would bear a child...but eventually the child would somehow, instinctively return to their father. No one knows what happened to them...whether he killed them or took them under his wing...but they would start feeling Called at a time anywhere between two hundred to five hundred. Rhenna saw the fear seep into his eyes, and she reaches out and touches his cheek.

"Cougar...first of all, none of the other "Descendants" were full mages. Second of all...none of them had come to terms with their dragon halves. Some thought it made them greater, some thought it made them inferior...some flaunted it, some hid it. I came to terms with the fact that half of me is dragon a long time ago. If I'm being Called...well, that's just too bad. I don't have time to go get Dragon lessons...I have far too much to do here."

Reason suddenly snaps into Warfare's eyes.
"What was I... I shouldn't of, I mean this happened because..." Byt A complete sentence never makes it out. Banishing Costh and the others back to the white tower, The bombs left an even bigger scar on an already scarred battlefield. Warfare vanished to his home and blocked all entry.
"Was I really going to kill him? Just because he was actually skilled? Why, I wouldn't normaly do such a thing. The last time I was so irresponsible was when..." But his thoughts trailed off. Memories filled their place. Memories of a horrendus war. Memories of long ago. The battle with Kaelis ra reawakened them.

Having just been sent to the Battlefield of the Gods and then returned relatively rapidly left Costh blinking his eyes trying to figure out what the hell happened.

I -- *To Costh* Meet Mith, our Healer. She is the head of all those who utilize the healing magicks in our nation. You owe her your life.

"Greeting Master Mith. Ishrem informs me I owe you my life. Could you please explain what happened?" Costh replied.

M - First of all, Mith is a title, not a name. It basically says that I am the head of my class, so tacking "master" onto the front of that is a little bit redundant. It's just Mith.

To explain...Warfare was about to kill you. Ishrem summoned me because I've had dealings with this god in the past. Warfare sent you back here so that the explosion that was about to happen wouldn't separate your atoms each from the other.

"I apologise for the redundancy of my greeting. Why did Warfare go from a training match to attempting to kill me?" Costh asked with a look of puzzlement on his face.

That I don't know. I will ask the next time I see him. Or her, as the case may be.

"Him or her? Also what should I do now Mith?" Costh said as he thought dang that feels wierd to just call a master a 'first name' type name without thier title first.

Mith and Ishrem conversed for a few minutes in rapid Drow, then Ishrem spoke.

I teach you some glyphs that work better than your current ones, and we move on from there.

M -- I have a hospital to run, so I'll get back there.

The shield runes are these.(upper chest/back)
Speed and levitation runes are these.(feet and lower legs)
These are for combat, fire(left hand), water(right hand), air(left forearm), earth(right forearm), Energy(forehead).
Teleportation runes are located here.(abdomen)
These are the general runes:
Weather protection are these.(lower back)
Energy and sensory reading improvment runes are here, and here(back of head and throat)
Light/darkness runes are here.(knees)

Ishrem suggests a couple of different (more powerful) shield glyphs, and some non-elemental combat runes.

"Alright then," Costh replied "Would you mind casting them so I may study them and transfer to the appropriate location?"

C -- "Alright then." As a rune on his left hand glowed dully Costh launched a small fireball at Ishren.

Within his study Galvenor appeared. He glanced at the bookshelf and used his telekinesis to "grab" several tomes. The books flew off the shelves and circled him while he hovered over to an overstuffed easy chair. The books stacked themselves upon a nearby low table. One of them floated in fromt of the mage. The title of the tome was "Ye Olde Mystries Of Immortality".

It was time to do some studying before he was needed again.

IC: At the white tower, for he really did not know where else to go, a God appeared, he looked like a blacksmith. He had a merry twinkle about his eye and looked like he could drink anyone under the table. He had a great red Beard and hair to match. Strapped to his back was a great hammer, with symbols of lightning engraved upon it. He was Thor, Norse God of lightning, and well known for his craftmanship. He looked around, and seeing Ishrem, he walked over to him, and said as softly as he could, for normally his voice was great and booming:
"Excuse me, do you know how I might get a hold of Col. Couger of Snake Eaters? I heard he could be found here. Lady Warfare approached me about making him a Gunblade, and I'd really like to get a start on it, well, me and Hephastus would."

OOC: Sweet! Now, we get this sorted b4 kay's thread, and then we can move on... if Kay arrives tonite, lol

She is incapable of forging a decent blade herself. I have come to escort you to the Volcanic Forge so that we may get the necessary things down like Grips, Prefrences, and the like. She mentioned that you already had an Idea of what you wanted, so, come with me and I shall take you to the volcanic forge and we shall get started." Thor declared.

"Just give me a second," said Cougar, as he looked at Rhenna. He mouthed,Sorry. I'll be back soon. Love you, and kissed her on the cheek. Then, he turned to Thor,"Let's get started. The sooner I'm back here the better"

Thor pulls out his hammer, it begins to glow bright white. Putting a hand on Cougers shoulder, Thor swings his hammer down hard, hitting the floor, but Massive boom was on a sound level that no Drow or Human can hear. Outside, everybird and animal runs in fear of what they heard. Slowly, over the course of an hour, they return. Thor and Couger appear at the Volcanic Forge. A place nestled deep inside the heart of a Volcano. Another God, Hephastus, can be seen coming away from a massive anvil.

There are downsides to immortality true, but there are also pluses, not fearing Death is pretty much irrelevant, for, when the Reaper is at full power, even a God can be killed. the only reason the Dragon king and the Mirari were able to control Death, is because I sealed most of his power away Eons ago, in a horrendus war. Thats one of the downsides, you remember everything. But on the Goodside, there is also the oppertunity to help numerous people over several lifetimes. If you do ascend to Godhood, you also get to learn Divine Magick, which is far superior to mortal magick, Princess Anna is tough I'll admit, but she is only a half diety, when I'm well rested, I can destroy her, not easily because she is a friend, and I'll still get a world of trouble from her, but all the same. The Art of Magic

Spell Components:
To cast a spell with a verbal (V) component, you must speak in a firm voice. If you are gagged or in the area of a silence spell, you can’t cast such a spell.
To cast a spell with a somatic (S) component, you must gesture freely with at least one hand. You can’t cast a spell of this type while bound or with both your hands full or occupied.
To cast a spell with a material (M), focus (F), or divine focus (DF) component, you must have the proper materials.
Some spells require you to use your own life energy. These are dangerous to your health if you are not experienced enough to attempt.

Concentration:
You must concentrate to cast a spell. If you can’t concentrate (because you are on the deck of a storm-tossed ship, for instance), you can’t cast a spell. If you start casting a spell but something interferes with your concentration, such as a rock smacking you in the head, you’ll need to focus your concentration more.

Concentrating to Maintain a Spell:
Some spells require continued concentration to keep them going. Anything that could break your concentration when casting a spell can keep you from concentrating to maintain a spell. If your concentration breaks, the spell ends.

Casting Time:
Most spells have a casting time, be aware of how long it takes to cast a spell.

Spell Distance:
Spells have ranges, from spells where you need physical touch to spells that shoot hundreds of feet.

Counterspells:
It is possible to cast any spell as a counterspell. By doing so, you are using the spell’s energy to disrupt the casting of the same spell by another caster. Counterspelling works even if one spell is divine and the other arcane. Some spells specifically counter each other, especially if they have diametrically opposed effects. For example, you can counter a haste spell with a slow spell, just as well as you can counter a haste spell with another haste spell, or you can counter a reduce person with enlarge person.

The Eight Schools of Magic

Abjuration:
Abjurations are protective spells. They create physical or magical barriers, negate magical or physical abilities, harm trespassers, or even banish the subject of the spell to another plane of existence.
If one abjuration spell is active within 10 feet of another for 24 hours or more, the magical fields interfere with each other and create barely visible energy fluctuations.
If an abjuration creates a barrier that keeps certain types of creatures at bay, that barrier cannot be used to push away those creatures. If you force the barrier against such a creature, you feel a discernible pressure against the barrier. If you continue to apply pressure, you end the spell.

Conjuration:
Each conjuration spell belongs to one of five sub schools. Conjurations bring manifestations of objects, creatures, or some form of energy to you (the summoning sub school), actually transport creatures from another plane of existence to your plane (calling), heal (healing), transport creatures or objects over great distances (teleportation), or create objects or effects on the spot (creation). Creatures you conjure usually, but not always, obey your commands.
A creature or object brought into being or transported to your location by a conjuration spell cannot appear inside another creature or object, nor can it appear floating in an empty space. It must arrive in an open location on a surface capable of supporting it. The creature or object must appear within the spell’s range, but it does not have to remain within the range.

Calling: A calling spell transports a creature from another plane to the plane you are on. The spell grants the creature the one-time ability to return to its plane of origin, although the spell may limit the circumstances under which this is possible. Creatures who are called actually die if they are killed; they do not disappear and reform, as do those brought by a summoning spell. A calling cannot be dispelled.

Creation: A creation spell manipulates matter to create an object or materials in the place the spell caster designates (subject to the limits of a conjuration spell as stated before). The objects or materials do not require magic to maintain their existence once created.

Healing: Certain divine conjurations heal creatures or even bring them back to life. This sub school is most associated with divine magic.

Summoning: A summoning spell instantly brings a creature to a place you designate. When the spell ends or is dispelled, a summoned creature is instantly sent back to where it came from. A summoned creature goes away if it is killed. It takes 24 hours for the creature to reform if killed, during which time it can’t be summoned again.
When the spell that summoned a creature ends and the creature disappears, all the spells it has cast, assuming it can also cast, expire. A summoned creature cannot use any innate summoning abilities it may have, and it refuses to cast any spells requiring life energy as a component, again assuming if it casts spells.

Teleportation: A teleportation spell transports one or more creatures or objects a great distance. The most powerful of these spells can cross planar boundaries. Unlike summoning spells, the transportation is (unless otherwise noted) one-way and not dispellable. Teleportation is instantaneous travel through the Astral Plane. Anything that blocks astral travel also blocks teleportation.

OOC: Anna is in no way, shape, or form devine. Kaymiril I had some sort of genetic anomaly that triggered immense personal power. This has been sealed in all of her descendants so that they only operate at half power...but the Wizard's Potion unsealed it...leaving a very powerful True Maril loose in the world. If it were her sister...I would be very worried indeed.

OOC: Where does Cougar fit in that? I can't see anything that refers in anyway or reflects the nature of the White Flame. I know Fieros is a Divine Magick though

"Well, the only thing I can tell you then, is that its not very diffrent from Mortality. The only diffrence is, over time, you will grow more emotional, they will show a bit stronger, as well, those who need to eat, sleep and drink, also slowly lose these overtime, oh, and you can't be killed eitehr, no matter how hard you try. I know an immortal who likes cliff diving without a parachute. He breaks every bone in his body, but he still lives. Another one simply disappeared underneath the waves, and took up the life of the Merpeople. Just find something to occupy yourself with, and centuries will flow by in a second. Meanwhile, if you study something, while those centuries pass by, you will have gained much knowledge in that area. You will still grow old, but its effects will be greatly diminished. So in the end, You don't have to worry about it right away, it will come slowly over time, and the changes will be so slight and imperceptable, that by the time you have completly adjusted, you won't even realize it. It doesn't surprise me though, you are the one who removed his Immortal Coil after all, it does make since that you would be the one to get it." Warfare said.

Costh altered one of the sheild runes on his back with an added part so that is matched the rune Ishren had shown.

Cougar handed over both his weapons, and left the forge, heading to the waiting-area. He sat there, deep in thought. He was worried about Rhenna, and a little apprehensive of Thor and Hephestus. He had been sat there when a wizened old man approached him,"May I join you?"

He looked at the newcomer,"Of course. Why couldn't you?"

"A good question my dear boy, a good question," said the man, taking a seat,"So, you are the bearer?"

Cougar looked at the man with his eyebrow raised,"May I ask how you know that?"

"Of course. It was a comment heard in passing. I cannot place the god though, I am sure it will spring to mind"

Thor and Hephestus looked at the weapons in turn. After emptying the cartridge, they nodded. Picking up a complex tool, they measured about how to merge the two together, proper balance, ETC, ETC. Hephestus copied the two weapons images exactly, copied balance, look, everything. Then he placed both in the Volcanic Forge, and melted both of them away to nothing but liquid metal.He manipulated the Coals with some thoughts, and began slowly cooling the metal, shaping it into a Gunblade. After it cooled, He took a set of tiny instruments, and remade the Gun, the firing chamber being the top edge of the blade. As a test, Hephestus loaded it, and fired it, Success! Thor took the Gunblade in turn and began hamering out an edge, making great booms with his Thunder hammer. The blade seemed unable to take the stress. For a second, the both disappear to Mirroden, and let the Liquid Darksteel cover the blade. While it could still be altered, Hephestus pulls a device out of his pocket, an intense laser beam runs across the edge of the blade, sharpening it. He also inscribed a small design into the blade. At the Hilt, they also put a square eight with the bottom missing, the symbol for al things forged in the Volcanic Forge, running along the right side of the symbol, as it cools, an Arc adds itself, touching the top and the bottom of the Symbol of the Volcanic Forge, turning it into a D. They were satisfied with their Creation. Back at the forge, Hephestus Re did the Grips entirly in Black Peal. Thor added a special effects enchantment to the blade. Hephestus got out same Mana bullets that could fit Couger's Gunblade. Walking out to the waiting area, the held the Gunblade, a New sheath, Leather, and Thor declared in his Great Booming voice:
"Here you go, our finest Work. The Couger Gunblade. On the blade itself, we put your namesake, a Couger. I added a special effects enchantment you'll have to discover for yourself. The Origanel metal could not take the stress, so we dipped it in the Darksteel Forges of Mirroden, thus you have the Only Darksteel weapon known of. We also did the Grips in Pure Black Pearl."

Thor hands the weapon to Couger, the second Couger touches the blade, White flame rushes down the blade of the new weapon. the Minerature Couger's eyes flare with White Flame, as does its claws. Its mouth permanetly open in a snarl, gathers a minerature Fireball of Fieros.

"When you swing the blade, an Arc of Either White Flame, or fieros, well rush at your intended Target, but befor you can return, we will take you to a place where you can practice against skilled swordsmen from across history." Thor said. So saying, Thor waved his hand, they were at the battle Field of the Gods in a special arena, Wise Swordsmen stood ready to help Couger learn his new weapon.

OOC: Hold on Couger before you return to Rendalmar, there's a second part to this.

"The puzzling thing is many of my race have thrown off their physical bodies and therefore lost the penalities of having a mortal form. An entity without a body needs not fear drowning, falling, starvation, or aging because all these are physical aspects of the flesh you are encased within. The Ta'Nar cast off their flesh many centuries ago. As we developed our Psi abilities, we no longer needed our physical bodies. A number of us also learned magic later on when we were stranded. It was the magical abilities we developed among those inhabinants of the at world that allow us to trans-locate the Empire to Earth. What I wish to know is how to determine what part of me is different from the rest of the Ta'Nar."

Galvenor paused for a moment before continuing.

"The curious thing, ever since the incident I have not lost the elevated feeling and the abundance of power I gained from the Conjuror's Sphere I cast before the Psudo-Immortality spell. The effects of those spells should have worn off long ago but I still feel the enhanced connection to the Conduit and the very world around myself. I am more in tune with the Universe than normal and I can feel everything around myself and even things distant. I can feel Cougar where he is standing right now. I can feel Myth, Rhenna, Ishrem, and even Costh even though I have never met some of them. As a matter of fact, if I concentrate, I can feel each and every grey mage that was in the battle and the demons that escaped. If I wasn't already a telepath, being connected to all these beings would have driven me insane already. It is a good thing the Ta'Nar are acustomed to these sensations."

Galvenor let his words sink in for a second.

"Another thing, when I came here I just willed it to be and without casting a spell, reality rippled and I was here. When you saw me, yow were taken by suprise because you apparently sealed this location and I entered it without even trying. This concerns me greatly. What if the Immortal Coil stacked with the Psudo-Immortality and the Conjuror's Sphere spells? The Coil kept the combination of Fieros and Ultima from destroying Apollyon until I removed it. What if it is also sustaining the Power I gained from the Conjuror's Sphere and the Immortality from the Psuro-Immortality spell? That would make me an Immortal - Immortal."

Galvenor waited for the implication to regester with Warfare.

"The implications are astronomical. I can commit great acts of Magic without even thinking about them or casting spells. This can be very dangerous to those around me. I would like you to do some tests upon a god level to see if I am something more than an Immortal. Take your time, it seems I have plenty."

Spell Basics

Conjourer's Sphere absorbs all magic and feeds it to the mage, effectively doubling his (AD&D) Level for a half-hour per level. 11th level spell

Psudo Immortality makes the mage immune to all mortal magic and physical damage for an hour per level. 11th level spell

Note, AD&D goes up to 9th and in the Arcane Age Boxed Set there was a 12th level spell. The 12th level is the Forbidden Spell I spoke of in an earlier post.

ooc:Costh is completely and utterly psychic blind/invisable. He can't interact in anyway with Galvanor, he can't even see him. To a psychic who couldn't actually see him he's just not there. The only way Galvanor could sense him is magically. It's basically a mutation that pops up rarely in Theao.

Cougar gazed at the new blade, at the shimmering edge, at the pistol mounted into it. He gazed at the cougar, its eyes glowing white from the Flame. He gazed at the ornte handle, and looked at Thor,"My thanks to you both for this work. It is... there is nothing to describe it"

As he arrived in the battlefield, Cougar looked at the swordsmen from across time and space."which do I face first?"

Galvenor has been a Psi for thousands of years as well as a Master Mage.

In the last battle he absorbed the Immortal Coil from one of the Great Generals of Hell, the Demon Lord Apollyon in order to cause it to experience the Final Death.

Now Galvenor is something that needs to be investigated and explained. Warfare will assist.

That is the purpose for this little RP.

Rhenna got up after a time. Trying to see this did nothing. She had sat for several hours in the cavern, in silence. Was there anything, anything, that would maybe yield some answers? Wait...deep in her room, in a drawer she never opened...there were two items that Renor had found by the body she'd been next to. A pendant...and a book. She had kept them, all these centuries...maybe they would tell her something.

Walking to her room, she opened the door. It'd been several months since she'd been in the room...she usually just took half an hour out of her research to sleep in the library.

Going to the very back of the room, she opened the drawer and removed the necklace. Trillri. She had to guess that was her mother's name. She didn't know. She slipped it on, for some reason she didn't understand.

The book. Three centuries since last its pages had seen light. Rhenmet reached down and lifted the book, brushing a layer of dust off the cover. There was no title, although there were intricate designs. Going to a chair and opening the book, she discovered it to be a diary. She started reading at the beginning -- only by knowing the past, can you know the present...and this woman's present was maybe her past...and she might gain answers from this woman's pen.

A grin spread across the face of one.
"You need not worry yourself with the others, you'll never beat me. They don't even exist." The Figure said. The illusion rippled, and there upon his famous eight legged steed sat Odin, Father of the Norse Gods. The Gungnir was in one hand, the Zantetsukin in the other. He dismounted Slipneir, and sent him out of the arena.
"I am the foremost swordsman in creation, I am the Father of the Norse Gods, the ruler of War, no better teach could you ask for." Odin said. Flashes occured, and in the stands sat Gods from various civilizations. It was always an occasion to watch Odin display his skills. He threw the Gungnir without even looking. It hit its intended target, for it never missed, a post high above the crowd. Aries appeared in the stands.
"You aren't the only one who can claim the title of the Ruler of War Odin!" Aries yelled.
"No matter, Couger, defend yourself as best you can." Odin said. With that, he raised his sword, the Zantetsukin, and charged Couger.

The dragon has demanded yet another woman...the villiage decided it would be me. Is there no one able to take him on? One dragon, and the government does nothing. The whole province lives in fear. I know there are some undesirables in our region...but do we deserve this? Or are they so busy over there with whatever they think they're supposed to be doing that we no longer matter?

Cougar had already sussed the difference between his old blade and his new one. It was an easy shift to make. He brought the blade up sharply, the Fieros leaving an afterimage on the air. It came into contact with Odin's blade, and flared again. He struggled against the strength of a god, but forced Odin's blade away, and struck back himself, the Gunblade whistling through the air towards Odin's knee

Odin felt a pain in his knee.
"Haha, thats what you get OLD, MAN. Why don't you leave War to us Younger gods." Aries Jeered.
"You'd better be carfull, before this 'old man' teaches you a lesson." Odin replied.
Odin decided to smash hard into Couger's ribcage with all his Divine strength.

Cougar felt a smashing pain in his chest, as Odin struck back. He reeled briefly, the Fieros leaping to his aid, knitting the wounds as he fought. He brought the Gunblade up, and fired the first round in the chamber. It was a White Flame round, and it streaked towards Odin, striking him at chest level

I was sitting at the appointed spot, when the dragon appeared. I must have blacked out, because when I came to, I was in a cottage. A mage was sitting at the table, making tea, and reading a book. He's been so kind thus far, but says that he can only protect me from the dragon's wrath so long as I stay near the cottage. I can do that, I suppose.

"You can't even keep damage on a Mere mortal. Are you really that weak?" Aries contiued to Jeer.
Odin felt the white flame, it burned hotly, he was upset now. he called for the Gungnir, it fell to his side. Lightning flashed dangerously in the sky. Running to Slipneir, he remounted his horse, and rode to Couger. Odin merely pointed the lance at couger, energy coursed through the lance and teleported Couger to his hearts fondest desire, wherever that might be. Slipnir Reared, Odin held on, and threw the lance as hard as he could at Aries, igniting a civil war among the Gods.
At about that same time, Warfare teleported Galvenor and himself out to the Battlefield, an end further away from Odin and Aries private war, and prepared himself to test Galvenor.
"Those two never get along." Warfare muttered.

OOC: Well, Couger's returned, gotta go.

Cougar dissapeared from the battlefield, and dropped into Rendelmar. Where in Rendelmar he didn't actually know. He dusted himself off, and looked around. He saw Rhenna sitting at a desk, a pendent round his neck. She was intently reading the book in fornt of her...

The old man glowed, and the Mighty Leviathan stood up, and moved swiftly, breaking up Aries and Odin. whilst he was young in comparision, he was as powerful as they came,"ENOUGH!" he bellowed, his voice reverbarating around the arena,"ARIES, YOU HAVE NO MANNERS! YOU SHOULD HAVE ALLOWED ODIN TO FIGHT HIS BATTLES! AND YOU ODIN! YOU KNOW WHAT ARIES IS LIKE, AND YOU SACRIFICED MY CHOSEN'S TRAINING BECAUSE OF A PETTY DISPUTE! SORT YOURSELVES OUT...NOW!"

I've been here for five years, now, and Tellryon has decided to take me as his wife. This is something I've been hoping for, but really never daring to hope for. Looking back over these past five years, I've never been so happy. This is far better than what I was expecting when I first came here...although I wonder how my family fares, with the dragon still on the loose.

Cougar stood, his eyes watching Rhenna's face. She knew he was there, but didn't respond. He simply stood quietly, he knew the value of patience

Rhenna notices a presence enter her room, but as it's a presence she trusts, the knowledge that someone else is in there flits away without her ever really being aware of it.

I have just borne Tellryon a daughter. Watching him hold her, barely an hour out of the womb, I can tell he'll be a good father to her. We decided to call her Elemmiire...had it been a male child, it would have been Kestal. This is a good life, and my daughter will grow up never knowing the feeling of being hunted...or hurt. Her father will protect her, as he has me.

He felt her sense him, but it passed quickly. He smiled, and sat in the corner, wrapping his cloak around him. She needed time, but he would not disturb her further. So he stayed. He would be there if she needed him

Tellryon cast us out today. There was no anger, no reason...he merely told me to go, and take Elemmiire. Why? Is he going to face the dragon, and merely doesn't want us killed? I want an answer. It is tiring work, carrying my daughter down the mountain...she's barely five, so she tires easily, and cannot keep up.

The last entry in the book came shortly after this.

At my returning, my family wanted to hear my story. I had not gotten far when I discovered that Tellryon was the name of the dragon...and that there were no mages that shared the name. My daughter carries dragon blood in her veins...what will this mean to her, as she grows up? Meanwhile, the Threat is ever present...we still fear death every day. Some are trying to invoke a god to seal him...had I known that he was the dragon...I had plenty of opportunities to kill him. I was so blind...and now we all suffer for it.

Rhenna closes the book thoughtfully. A couple of hours had passed since Cougar entered the room...she looks in front of her, thinking over all that she had read.

Cougar watched her close the book, and sensed a heavy weight descend on her heart. He debated with himself, then took a chance,"You OK?"

Her head snaps around as he speaks, but she immediately relaxes.
"Yes, I'm all right." *pause* "You might say I've been introduced to a ghost, though."

He stood, and walked over to her,"Want to talk about it?"

Where to start? My mother was a sacrifice to the dragon. He disguised himself as a mage that would "protect" her, waited a little while, and then judged her to be worthy of bearing his child. When I was five, he sent us out, to whatever fate we met. Less than a year later, my mother died. Renor found me, Tellryon was sealed...and life has gone on.

He gripped her shoulder,"I see. I wish I could say more, but I can't"

She grips his hand. "Well, at least I know my mother, now. Can't say I'd wish to be like her, but that's probably only because I've been raised here."

"Ishren, when I was having the training match with Warfare he flipped out. Do you have any reasoning or could you direct me to someone who may know his reasons for his actions?" Costh asked.

"I sometimes wonder how my life would have been different had my parents not *pauses* died. Proberly full of parties and engagements, an arranged marriage... thank Leviathan I'm where I am today"

Who can say what a god's reasons are for going insane? I don't know him, personally...maybe Mith'd know....but whether or not she can tell you what you want to know...*shrugs*

And yet, the life you live has far more rules and regulations than that one would. True, there are about the same amount of freedoms...Actually, I can't claim to know much about either of those lives. I'm a mage...one of the Hidden Class...not an aristocrat, or a soldier.

You can think that, but I didn't get where I am today following rules and regulations. I should have been court-martialled a dozen times, but someone up there at High Command saw something, and I became a different breed of solider. As for the aristocrasy, it sickens me. I refuse to be that person

Rn -- It's harder than it looks. You find that out when you watch people who are good at it. There have been times when I was in the room to protect Princess Annastrianna, and if it had been me at the table, I'd have called whatever person it was a traitor and executed him then and there. However...she resolved it. Didn't seem to break a sweat, either. I was impressed. *glances at a time piece* I'm late...I have classes to teach.

Cougar nodded,"Go. I'll be around. Might head back to the training rooms or the libary, I have some things I want to do"

She nods, kisses him quickly, then teleports out.

"No, I'm not squeamish. So how should I go?" Costh replied.

Ishrem scribes a rune that takes them to just outside a large city.

"The large building in the center is the one you're looking for. Ask anyone for Mith, once you're inside."

Cougar left the room, and figured his way to the libary. He sat down, and summoned the mythology text he had previously studied. Flipping through the pages, he found the entry he wanted:

White Flame
The White Flame is perhaps the most mythical ablity of the Snake Eater populace. In recorded history, it has not been seen. Beliefs say that only the bearer of the Black Flame is eligible for this ablity, and that the person in question is able to defeat Kaelis Ra, and survive. Until very recently, none had been shown, but it is now belived that a bearer has emerged

He closed the book, and went to the training rooms, drawing his Gunblade. He needed more practice, and to combine this and the White Flame would take time. He began to work...

"Alright then. Thank you for your aid Ishrem." Costh said as he headed into the city. He wandered toward the center where he found the large building. As he headed toward the door he saw a person exiting it he went up and asked them, "Could you help me, I'm looking for a mage by the name/title of Mith, could you tell me where to find her?"

*Random Gray Class Mage* Mith? She's working in the ER...we've had several cases of a strange illness erupt today, and she's getting to work on it. *gives a complex set of directions*

"Thank you." Costh replied as he utilise the directional rune Ishrem made him practice, heading to the ER following the directions.

There are several mages working in a section full of very ill individuals. One, in a mask and cloak, is taking charge. Blood and mucus samples are going one way, reports are going another, and medicines coming in from a third. It's a very busy scene.

Shan enters the training room, bouncing a hard rubber ball. He stands there, watching Cougar, just bouncing the ball in an exact series of motions and times -- the resulting sound effect is similar to Chinese water torture.

Costh, trying to find a mage that wasn't busy, was staying out of the way as he tried to either find Mith or someone who could tell him what he should do.

ooc:he's willing to help heal the sick

M -- *from the middle of things* You must be Costh...come on, speak while the sun still shines. *she's administering different medications to different patients, moving swiftly, deftly.*

OOC: He wouldn't have the first clue what to do with this.

IC: Cougar sat down panting. The targets at the far end were all smoking. Some had bullet holes in them, the others had been set alight by flame. He looked around him, and memories flooded back...

He was on his belly, the rifle in his shoulder. He was sore and tired, but he kept the weapon steady. He had to hold his position. The snipers scope jiggled as his heartbeat entered his hands. He breathed slowly, and squeezed the trigger. At the target in front of him, a small puff of dust drifted up./ He relaxed, and instantley got whipped across the back of the knees.
"Fool. You don't move until one minute AFTER the shot." said a gruff voice. Cougar tightened up again, and loaded another round

The sound of Shan bouncing the ball awoke him,"What the hell are you doing?" he demanded, standing up fully to face the young mage

A young mage comes up and gives a report to Mith in rapid drow. She puts her Chosen, Jalron, in charge, and begins to move off.

Entering a restricted area, she moves a plaque on the wall and stick her head through the hole. "If there are any essence slivers free, it would be wonderful to have a team of four to six of them accompany me. We have an epidemic breaking out. If a couple of hunter slivers want to come, too, that would be excellent."

Following Mith, partially because he has no clue whats going on, partially because he's still waiting for instruction he sees Mith ask for Slivers as he followed her.

I wasn't going anywhere with the train of thought. Just making an observation. Yah! *he jumps back* You didn't have to do that. *wrinkles his nose* Nothing smells worse than burnt rubber. Except for burnt hair. In any event...*conjuring a new ball unthinkingly and beginning to bounce it*...if you've started a "relationship" with Rhenna, let me tell you now...if for any reason it doesn't work out, and she gets hurt in the process, there isn't a mage over fifteen in this building that won't flense you alive. Renor would be the least of your problems.

Cougar moved with a speed faster than any normal human, part magick and part training. He grabbed Shan's ball, threw it away, and then lifted the mage by his lapels ,"And let me tell you something: What happens between myself and Rhenna is our buisness, and our business alone! Understand me? Now, let me assure you, I fully understand the implications of any action I take! you have no idea of how decisions are truly made." He dropped him onto the floor,"Now, get back to class and make it quick, before I tell Rhenna what you were really doing. After cleaning the kitchen this morning, I don't think you want another load of chores to do?"

V -- *Catching the ball* Rhenmet knows full well what Shan is doing. She doesn't let him get away with it very often, and makes sure he doesn't miss an important class. You may go, Shan. *he tosses the ball back to the boy, who catches it and leaves.*

You were making that sound far worse than I'm guessing it is. Aside from that...you were getting very defensive...he is only a child.

"I'm just tired again. Humans get irritable and defensive when they are tired, like most species I would imagine. As for my comments, well... I make them because it's how I feel. And it annoys me that people, even children, cannot accept them. He is older than I am for God's sake!"

He was merely attempting to protect Rhenna...she is the only mother he has ever really known. It is not that he cannot accept it, it is that he'd rather not see her get hurt.
Aside from all of this...Rhenmet's class was dismissed about fifteen minutes ago.

Warfare starts out simple, he simply reaches out, and feels Galvenors exact level of power.


OOC: Tell me a number between 1 and 10,000 This is going to determine whether or not Galvenor has Divine level powers. God is at 10,000 most of the population of creation is at 1. It takes that much to even live. Ultima takes about a 3,000 level mage, like Renor, Warfare and most of the other Elder gods reside at 9,000ish. A few beings like Michael, the Arcangel, is at 9,500 Death, and the Devil, in their many iterations, stand at 9,750. That is the highest power level possible. Since God is really unlimited, we just put a 250 point gap and make it an even 10,000. I think Galvenor might be at about 6 or 7,000. The level of regular Gods, like Aries and Odin.

Well...I kind of lied to you about why I was out of class. I left about two seconds before everyone else...but that was because I had to run and get Vrasha, who's the closest thing to a medic we really have. Trained ten years in Mithdelmar.

"OK. Don't worry about it. Look after yourself Shan," said Cougar, turning on his heel and walking from the great hall. He had an idea, but he needed time. Taking a caffeine pill, he walked quickly and quietly to the libary. He just needed something, anything, to check his theories.

Even as he sat down, he found it difficult to concentrate. Images swirled in front of his eyes again, but he forced them back. Good memories, ones he enjoyed, but now he needed all his focus. He located the book Rhenna had been looking at, and sat down. This would take some time...

Some hours later, he slammed the book shut. Nothing.

A mage (Cougar hasn't met him before) enters the library, and starts searching for a book. Selecting one, he looks at Cougar.

"What is it you search for?"

Cougar responded warily,"Information. Important information... it's about someone very dear to me"

Yes, we are all concerned about Rhenmet's recent instability. Vrasha sent me here to see if I couldn't find something about Draconic Mind Sheilds, so that maybe we can end this before it gets out of hand. I'm Tir'el, by the way. One of Vedt's students, but I know Rhenna well.

OOC: By this time, the Rn/C relationship is absolutely no secret.

Cougar, James Cougar. Offically, a student of Renor's." James extended his hand,"And by your words, I assume the entire place knows of the... situation between Rhenna and myself? Need any help?"

The mage's eyebrows raised. "A student of Renor's? Interesting." He shook Cougar's hand briefly. "And my dear human...do you think that there are any secrets other than the two kept from us by necessity, in a community this small? And if you can read Draconic, there are a couple of other texts...there are a total of four of us that are fluent in Draconic: Renor, Vedt, Rhenmet, and myself...Renor and Vedt work constantly, and Vrasha has Rhenna under constant supervision."

Cougar smiled,"No, I didn't think so. It's just like at home. And my Draconian is sketchy at best, but I have a good enough grasp," he said, grabbing the nearest book and setting to work. The translator chip kicked in, projecting images onto his eyeballs, offering possible translations. It was times like these that James loved technology

Any possible mental sheild found, Tir'el dismissed as one she already had, or one that was impossible to put up, her being only half dragon.

"This search is getting us nowhere...and I thought we had a good library...in any event, it is time for the evening meal, and you must be hungry. I would watch out, though...the children thirty-five and up had the task tonight, so all will not be as it appears."

Maybe the answer isn't actually within the texts but is somewhere in between them. In any case, would you like to join me? I could use the company, a room full of whispering *children* does not sound like a pleasent expierence to me

Tir'el introduces Cougar to about seven other students of Rendelmar, and between the eight of them, they warn him about what to and not to eat when the children cook. Dinner is a rather leisurely affair, a relaxed time where the mages talk to one another. The entire table busts on a mage named Nedre for his relationship with a girl in Rhenmet's corresponding class ((these are Vedt's students)), but it's good natured.

A silver bird ((haven't decided what model it is yet)) flies in during the middle of the meal, right to Renor. He stands and motions to Vedt to follow, and they walk out.

Cougar spoke to a number of the other students, but his mind was quite clearly elsewhere. He stayed put when Renor and Vedt left, but he knew something was afoot. All through dinner, his mind was ticking over the facts he knew, trying to make sense of them

Renor and Vedt walk quickly toward the edge of Rendelmar.

V -- What is it?

R -- The Threat has reawakened...Mith just sent word. Inject this into your bloodstream...*Renor was doing so for himself as he was walking* you don't want to catch the bug that's floating around there. Vrasha has already been instructed that Rhenmet is not to be allowed out of Rendelmar, at all.

V -- Where are we going?

R -- Lotha Province.

*summoning their gliders, they blaze off*

IC: Cougar stood up, thanking the others for their company. He left the great hall, and moved swiftly through the corridors. He knew enough now to find his way around, and quickly found the medical area of Rendelmar. He could see Rhenna, and another mage, who he only assumed could be Vrasha. He walked up, "Vrasha?"

V -- *she'd been leaving...Rhenna seemed stable enough* Yes?

*indicates Rhenna* How is she? Sorry if I seem rude, I'm James Cougar," he said, extending his hand again. He seemed to be doing a lot of that lately
