She smiled at the infant, moving her hand gently around. "That's the hardest part, when they go off on their own...somehow, it never seems like long enough...and you have to wonder...did you prepare them well enough for the dangers the universe poses? Oh, the later stage of adolescence is difficult...but not nearly so much as learning to let go."

The trap sprang. What Costh saw was an image of himself, Darker, scaryer. As he would be as a Demi-God, only this Image was an Evil one. The Costh in the Mirror appeared twice as big, twice as strong, twice as fast as costh currently was. Dark energy flowed from it, as it had access to Kajeenith's powers.
It stepped out of the Mirror, and grabbed Costh to throw him into, and trap him inside of, the Mirror.
"What is it with villians and old tricks, can't you tin-potted megalomaniacs learn some originality?" Costh griped, "Now now, what is with you callubg me names?" He asked, "Enh," He used a rune to cause anything touching him, clothes not included, to burst aflame.

Dark Costh used an Anti Magick Spell on Costh sealing all of his Magicks. He then Punched him.

"Owww, that wasn't very nice." Costh said, "I don't go around punching you know do I?" He pulled out a small wooden circle, intricately carved. With a thought it burnt through it's only charge and sent a powerful blast of wind to smash Dark-Costh toward the mirror.

Anti-Costh used a spell to let him slide through the Diminsion inside the Mirror.

He walked back to Costh, Picked him up, and hurled him into the Sub-diminsion.

Costh's weaker powers came back shortly before he was picked up.

Cougar considered the information for a moment. "Go in, but be careful. I don't want to have to risk someone else to go pull you out."

"Will do." Costh replied as he let the stank die naturally as he finished up in the bathroom. He then went on rides, ect, till the park closed.

At 6'oclock sharp, all the rides stopped, the booths closed down, and guests began to filter out of the park, away from Jester's Mansion.

Jester and Dark Bard came strolling by.

"Come Sir, My Mansion is this way." Jester called to costh as he strolled by.

Jester and Dark Bard danced and skipped merrily down the path.

Costh follows the two toward the mansion.

The Guards eye Costh with a Grin, this seems to be a place of Smiles and Happiness.

Jester stops at the front door.

"Dinner is going to be served in the main hall. Is there any one type of food you prefer?" Jester asked.

"Good food." Costh replied

"Ahh, then we will be having "American Southren" style cooking." Jester said.

He moved off Leaving Costh with the Guards.

A Butler appeared. He look like Quasimodo's Brother.

"Sir, allow me to show you to a guest room. Dinner will be served in one hour." The Man said.

Anyways he began leading him towards The West Wing.

Costh chuckled and followed McDuff.

They passed the Kitchen, the doors were closed, but a Mingling of Delicious smells were drifting through the door, They passed the Dining hall, Seventy places were being set. The Table was Oak, the Chandelier looked to be Gold, and had crystals hanging from the White wax, lit candles, to the point in the ceiling where it hung. The walls were white with a delicate rose floral pattern. Pictures of various people hung on the walls, including one of Jester and Dark Bard dressed as Twin Jesters. Fine stands stood here and there, and a coat rack was next to the door.

Past that, down the hall with the same white/floral pattern decoration, The arrived at a Grand pair of doors.

"A Similar pair of Doors marks the entraance to the other wings. Be care ful in the Northwing though, Its closed for repairs." Mcduff said.

"Alright, will make sure to avoid them." Costh replied

Past the doors, The walls were now painted in Thessalations by M.C. Escher.

Costh's was the third on the right. It was sparsely furnished and undecorated. The bed was ultra-comfortable though.

"Thank you sir for the advice and the guide services." Costh said as he handed the man a tip and entered the room.

Mcduff wandered off. Costh's Hour wqas up to him.

Costh began looking around the room after which he relaxed and read a book.

Costh found Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace.

The other books vanished without a trace.

Costh found nothing intresting in the room.

After an Hour, Mcduff knocks on the door.

"Sir, Dinner shall be served in five minuets." Mcduff said.

"Alright." Costh replied as he returned the book to the stand/shelf and headed toward the dining hall.

There were Random People Costh would recognise from the Council. For all intents and purposes, they seemed alive and well. Only, they were diffrent in an inexplicable manner. This movement was off, that speech pattern was a bit backwards, just, little things.

Then Dinner was served.

Fried Chicken, Mashed potatoes, Baked potatoes, baked chicken, Corn Peas, Rolls, Butter, Sweet potatoes, Sqaush, carrots Lemonade, Water, Milk, and carbonated beverages.


The smell of all sorts of fruit pies came wafting in from the kitchen. Costh was free to serve himself.

Jester bowed and prayed. Costh was close enough to hear him.

I pray to my Dark Lord, who dwells on Kamigawa, world of the Spirit Magicks, to have Mercy on me this day, and remove all unclean things from my Meal. In Kajeenith's Name, Let it be done, or let the soul who stands in his way be tortured forever.

Costh bowed his head as well, he was a good guest, even though the concept of saying Grace was basically foreign to him. His ears twitched at the mention of names. Once the ritual was done he began serving, though not gorging himself, and only drinking water.

Costh's food was drugged ever so slightly, and barely detectable, but not enough to draw attention. The effects were designed to put Costh into a deep dreamless slumber from which he would not wake up unless given the Antidote...

Since Costh had had much 'junk food' at the Carnival, he didn't actually eat too much of food.

Evn the little Costh did eat would have been enough. in about 15 minuets, he would begin to nod off.

The Fourth day had come, it was Time for Cid to take Enais home.
Khalan asked him to take Shan back as well. Shan bounced his ball against a wall as per his usual pattern.

Enais got a chance to fly the Airship again. Cid stood by.

The Space Slivers transfered them to Kaymirilian skys.

The Airship landed infront of the Valshanth.

Shan walked off. A figure was waiting for him in the shadows. Vedt, come to take him home. They stepped back into the shadows, and were gone, back to the hidden city, back, to Rendelmar. Khalan had sent Renor a note VIA Warfare detailing everything that had happened to Shan, and where he was. She also included when he would be returning to Kaymiril, so that someone could be there to escort him home.

Enais was about to Leave when Cid stopped him.

"Enais, I know your as skilled as I am, if not more so, but if you ever need another opinion on anything, any project your working on, or anything else for that matter, don't hesitate to call me. This little Radio will contact me directly, and I always have the other one. Until next we meet again, my friend." Cid said. He closed the doors, and The Airship left, leaving Enais to stare at it for a few minuets before muttering "Weird", and walking into the castle.

I don't understand it at all. I would ask Mith, yet for all his knowledge, I think all he could tell me, is all I already know.

OOC: I hope its all good. Neither Kay nor S.E. were here, so I was left to my own devices. Nothing terribly major. Just sending Kay's characters home, after all, they are children.

"Hey, since Kajeenith's Gone from Ephseus, Hows about we move it back to the grand Opera house we built? What do you say?" Edward asked.

"Its still a very bad Idea, who knows what traps that monster Left behind?" Arel said.

"Lets, think about it for first. I know The Paladins could sweep through looking for traps, as can the rangers." Roy said.

"Okay, well, think about it, you know where to find us." Edward said.

Arel heard a terrible haunting Melody coming from somewhere, barely on the edges of her senses, coming from an Organ of somesort.

She shook it off, and went back to Work, after all, it may have been part of her Imagination.

She sat where she was, somewhat stunned, first that she'd done that, and second that she'd reacted so strongly to a melody she could barely hear.

In an effort to subtly undermine the council, He had Jester set up that whole amusement center, and kidnap council members. Having realized who costh was, he had the dark Spirit of Kamigawa teleport Costh into a special arena he had built, and now plans on torturing Costh to Death with his bare hands." Gypsy said.

If you're too tired to think, you're too tired to search...and I know that she'd agree with me on this point...and if you can't find this Lady Ninja due to your own tiredness, you've wasted more of Costh's time than you will if you get four hours of sleep."

Costh slammed into the wall with enough force to crack it. The jarring impact was enough to either sprain or possibly fracture his left wrist and dislocated his left arm. As he shook his head, he grasped his arm and with a squeek, wrenched it back in. He cradled his wrist. "Lord Kajeenith, how did mortals cause your downfall?" Costh asked as he set off to try and avoid his tormenter, again.

Cougar picked up their bags. "Well, I guess we go check in."

They headed inside to do just that.

The Girl flipped open a cracked old nbook, and flipped to the end.

"Ah yes, James and Rhenmet Cougar, One Luxury Suite. Top Floor, Left side, overlooking our fine town, and nearly Eye-level with The Temple on the hill. A Package is awaiting you in your room. Please, allow Lee to show you to your room." She said, indicating a Burly Bellhop that had just come down the stairs.

He Picked up their bags, (Assuming they set them down,) Nodded at the staircase, and headed up. The Young Lady at the Counter slipped a Key into his pocket as he passed by.

James nodded,"That sounds about right. Thank you very much"

He followed Lee, part of him relaxed, part of him on edge. Underneath his casual clothing was a 10mm Glock, his new pistol. After his last mission, he'd found the previous one too bulky to use normally, and switched to this latest weapon. Even on holiday, he carried out his drills as they were second nature to him. He knew that it made Rhenna slightly uncomfortable, but it was his job that made him this. She'd accepted that

Lee took them to the top of the Inn. walked them all the way down. The door was oak, with decrative Brass finishings. He set the bags down, took out the Key, unlocked the door, and then set the Bags inside. An envelop sat on a Desk.

"Right, we do not have much technology, however, a Minibar does rest in the closet, fully stocked. There is a phone on the desk, press zero for the front Desk, From there you can get Room service, or the operator. Also, any and all questions should be directed to the front desk." Lee said.

He thought for a minuet.

"Oh yes, The Temple at the top of the hill, Local folk stay away from there. People have a way of, dying, if not invited by the Lady of the Black Temple." He said. Then, he stood by the door, as though awaiting any questions.

Cougar raised his eyebrow,"Lady of the Black Temple? Local legend?"

"I'm, not sure, all I know is, some folks that go up there, never come back. And the ones that do, either never speak of it, or are insane. You might do to ask local villagers, the ones that will talk. Most, respect the wish of secrecy the Lady of The Black Temple has and never speak. You could try visiting it yourself, but not for a few days. *Lee goes over to a window.* You see the Lone Temple on the hill, that's the place I'm talking about. Most of the time, there is an impassible invisible barrier surrounding it. Some whisper magick, others think its the work of our ancestors, protecting us. Either way, when someone goes looking for the Lady, the barrier falls, eventually. It never takes more than six days. I advise you to stay away, lest you wind up dead too." Lee says. He exits, as though in fear of the Temple.

The envelop is still on the Bed. Warfare's seal is on it.

James watched him leave, and then closed the door,"Sounds as if she'd got them wound round her little finger... anyway, looks like we have a message"

Rhenna picks up the envelope and opens it.

"If it's a magickal barrier, I don't see any problems. If it's their 'ancestors', as they say, that might be a touch trickier...but I've dealt with such things before."

Inside was a charge Card, and a Note.

This Card is linked directly to the Royaltreasuries of Warhaven, I said don't worry about money, but don't bankrupt me either.

"Somehow, I think we had enough anyway... but what the hell. We'll keep the family account safe"

She laughs. "I don't think money was a problem from the beginning, but if he wants to pay..."

"Then we let him pay"

She sits down on the bed.

"Tell me...just how big of a mess did Costh get himself into?"

He hung up his jacket, and glanced out the window. There was a brief silence, then he spoke,"Very, very big trouble... I missed something out earlier."

"And, why are we seeking out some assassin that we don't know? Rildorath is reliable, as is Haldosir...any of Sarnor Zotreth, and I'm sure that you or I would be capable."

He poured himself a drink,"I had to quickly tell you the basics. Now, I am going to tell you everything. It goes against every operating procedure ever written, even for the Mage Forces, but I must tell you"

He paused,"Kajeenith has returned to the world of the living. How, I don't know. Jester is working for him. Costh was captured within the palace, and even now is fighting a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with Kajeenith himself. The best estimates give him seven days... and from what we can tell, this Lady Ninja, as she's actually called, is the only one capable of getting him out of there. Don't ask how or why, all I know is that we have to convince her to help us... and that is why we have this Black Lotus. It's the only one of it's kind, and there is some sort of symbolism with it, between herself and Warfare"

He looked down,"I'm sorry I didn't tell you before"

"I understand that there are things you can't tell me, and that I can't tell you. It's the way we live our lives. There's no need to apologise for it."

"It's better this way. Better that everyone in the mission knows what is going on... also, Gypsy thought it best not to let me go alone. You'd try and kill her if you found out"

This last part was said with a grin

"Only if something happened to you."

"Then let us hope that nothing does"

"Well...I'm here, too...so I'll try to not let anything too bad happen to you."

He smiled,"I did also want a chance to spend some time with you. With work as it is lately, we haven't had any"

"Well, the official reason we're here is for a vacation."

"Something tells me he knew more than he was letting on, but hell. It's a holiday, so we should enjoy it"

"While tracking down an assassin who has a potentially lethal temple. Sounds fun."

He smiled,"Yes... I'm sure it will be most entertaining."

He glanced out the window at the sinking sun,"Looks like we could find something out right now. Bars are open, people are drinking. People talk more when they drink"

"As you probably know from experience. Come on, then." She stands up.

He laughed,"I don't drink that much... well, not often anyway"

"Not anymore." She smiles at him.

He smiled back at her,"Of course I don't... still, it's useful to have a little first hand expierence"

"I'm sure. So, are we going, or are we not?" She takes his jacket off the peg and holds it out to him.

"We certainly are," he said, taking his jacket and putting it round him. He pocketed the key, and opened the door for her,taking her arm,"Let's take in a little bit of nightlife"

She steps out with him.

He closed the door, and then took her outside the inn. The street was reasonbly well lit, and fairly long. People were thronging about, it seemed as if the entire town was out that night. No-one spared a second glance at the human-Drow couple

Which was probably because this was a tourist town...and that was probably a good thing, to not attract too much attention.

"At least we fit the part resonably well," he said to her, as they walked down the street, going through the normal motions of a couple in love, on a holiday... which they were. No one would know of their mission

"The best lie is founded heavily on the truth." She smiles and leans up to give him a kiss.

He smiled back, knowing full well what she said was true, kissing her back,"Then let us continue to decieve these people"

She smiles. "Sounds like a plan."

He spied a bar, resonably full, but not so bad that it was impossible to get a seat,"May I tempt you with a drink?"

"Maybe one...after all...I'm not the experienced drinker, of the two of us."

"Alright, let us see how you deal then"

He lead her to the bar, and ordered them both a drink. He sipped at the lager as it came his way, and then looked around,"Seems like a good place to get started"

"This place has a few more tourists than absolutely necessary...but perhaps the best place to start is the tourist haunts."

"People will tell barmen things they won't tell others. Watch"

He summoned the barman over,"What can you tell me about the Black Lady?"

The man looked terrified,"Sir, you shouldn't talk about that"

C -- "And why not?"

B -- "People who do end up dead"

C -- "I'm willing to risk it"

B -- *Looks around*"I hear things, sir... bad things. People who vist that place... don't come back. At least, some of them don't. The others... aren't right in the head, sir."

C -- "Anything else?"

B -- *Very loudly*"Sorry sir, we don't serve that drink here"*walks off*

James looked at Rhenna,"What did we learn here?"

"They live in fear of this...Lady Ninja, and possibly the entire clan. I wonder what sort of people have gone there in the past, though."

"It also tells us that no-one here has seen her. It's all superstition... no one really knows anything"

"It tells us that this one doesn't know anything. Like I said...this is a tourist haunt."

"Actually, think about it. He works behind a bar. Barmen see everyone, because everyone wants a drink at some stage. Things don't stay secret in a tourist destination for very long. Except of course, what we are here for"

"Actually...in this type of culture, this type of bar wouldn't know terribly much. A little place, where the natives go to catch up over a cup of tea or a dish of sake would be more likely to have the kind of people we're looking for."

*As a barfight breaks out*

"Can you really see the type of person who would go there and survive hanging out in a place like this?"

"If you're into sake, maybe. You'd be surprised. Anywhere you can suggest?"

"Anywhere that would be really useful would probably not be on the main streets."

"And it's also those places that are a little more... selective, in their client base"

"You'd probably have an easier time getting in, actually. This sort of culture likes the strong man...the warrior...and the women to be silent. I should probably see if I can't find a little restraunt tomorrow afternoon, where the women would be more likely to congregate."

"Hmm... most likely illegal fights. I might have to check it out... shouldn't be too bad, but still, have a healing spell ready"

"They'll only challenge you if you do something stupid and insult their honor. Otherwise, once you prove yourself a warrior, you're practically in the club, and they'll open up more. Just go, and be your naturally charming self, and you shouldn't have too much trouble. And if you do...well, sometimes people die. Just try not to kill anyone affiliated with her."

He smiled,"Well... we can only hope. Let's go see if we can't find anything along these lines"

"Tomorrow afternoon, James...late afternoon. That's the best time."

Why do I suspect this is a bad idea

"We've got enough intel for tonight. Tomorrow, we can start work"

She nods.

He led her back to the inn, and stretched out on the bed,"I'm so tired all of a sudden"

She sits next to him. "You haven't been sleeping well."

"I know... I wish I knew why"

"You get like this sometimes. And then it stops." She lays down beside him, giving him a kiss. "Try and get some sleep tonight. You might need it in the morning."

He made a slight movement, and his hypospray materialised in his hands,"This should do the trick"

Pressing it to his arm, he sighed slightly as he felt the knockout drug enter his system. His eyes felt heavy instantly,"Good night Rhenna"

"Good night." She kissed him as he drifted off, then brushed out her hair while D'anthe chattered at her quietly.

Soon after he went to sleep, she went to bed.
