Galvenor approached the stranger and stood by the table until he looked up at him. He met the gaze of those white eyes without flinching.

“Is there something I can do for you? You don’t look like any of the students attending the College. Who are you? I have not seen you here before.”

Galvenor just waited for the stranger to answer.

"I am, Naradas, Loyal Servant of his Dark Majesty Kajeenith. I heard this tower was neutral ground open to all. I heard that those who wished to expand their knowledge could come here. Was that not true?" The man now known as Naradas said.

With a wheeze and a Cough, he said "I promise, I shall not seek to bring harm to any within the tower."

Xos looks over at Naradas.

"hmph, it IS neutral and open. But I don't believe YOU could keep your word." Xos said.

Naradas looked over at Xos.

"I don't believe I asked for the opinion of a weak Mongrel Dog like yourself." Naradas said.

"well, if that isn't the Pot calling the Kettle Black." Xos started.

"WATCH IT." Naradas nearly shouted. in a manner that clearly indicated that this was a touchy subject.

Xos smrked. Naradas was always touchy about his growing up an orphan.

Silence.

"Forgive my earlier outburst ghost man, I always get a little emotional when that subject is brought up." Naradas said.

"Hey, your the one that opened it, not me." Xos said.

"yeah, will I'm still a better energy wizard then you. El should have made me apprentice." Naradas said.

"Would you care to pprove your point?" Xos challenged.

"I thought this was neutral ground." Naradas reminded him.

Xos didn't answer, and instead, teleported them to a valley on Riptide.

"This isn't the Tower." Xos said.

Naradas grinned.

"All the better to fry you then."
Naradas said.

OOC: I don't think you quite understand the concept of a character being absent due to other circumstances. He is involved in other things, like his full time job! He normally isn't at the Tower, you'd be lucky to find him. He MIGHT drop by soon enough to say hello to Eldrad and do a few other things. MAYBE he'll work with you, but only if you start to get your act together. First things first, you don't have to put 'IC' at the beginning of every fecking post! Do you know how annoying that is? Also, try actually using some true punctiation, and instead of merely quoting actions, why not actually add some true background to your character, make it that much more believable

Xos looked at Naradas wearily now.

"so, tell me, what's the concept behind Energy magicks?" xos questioned.

Naradas shot a bolt of Earth Energy transmuted from Air energy at Xos. Xos transmuted it to Water energy and re directed it at the Ground.

"Simple, you fool. Our branch of Magick exists to aid the other branches. Water energy cannot be taken from Fire Energy, just as Law cannot be taken from Chaos. Energy is known as the Supporting branch of Magick, because we have the ability to turn one form of energy into another, such as Law to Chaos, Fire to Water, Earth to Air." Naradas said.

Xos shot Water at Naradas, who, showing off, converted it from Water to Fire to Earth to unaligned energy to Air, and released it around him.

"So, then. Naradas, explain un aligned energy to me then." Xos said.

Naradas shot Lawful Energy at Xos, Xos simply held it, like a Kitten.

"simple, There is an energy for each Element, its what allows that element to Function. Fire for example, functions on Fire energy, derived from eating wood, and turning it into air. If you were to take pure water energy, and shoot it at a fire, it would cause the Fire to go out. Other types, will alow it to function in a weakened state, such as Earth energy, however, too much, and the fire will go out. Say, we both know this, why the quiz?" Naradas asked.

"Because your to slow to realize it was simply a ruse to allow me time to think of a way to show you why I was chosen to be Apprentice, then Archwizard." Xos said.

Naradas's eyes widened in disbelief. Xos shot Naradas's own Lawful energy back at him. Naradas couldn't handle Lawful and Chaotic energy that well though, and try as he might to convert it to Chaos,he couldn't and the whole thing blew up in his face. Xos teleported him back to Kamigawa.

"And that, is why I'm master." Xos said.

Piekrom']OOC: I am sorry but I do not get the logic of your last sentance. Remember this is the first RP chat thing I have ever done.
OOC: Okay, lets see if I can help.

In RL, (RL stands for Real Life, Life outside of the Internet and NS.) If your, say, at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, you can't really be at Big Ben, in Londen, England. This is because, we just can't exist in two places at once. The same stands true for characters in NS. If Cougar is away from the White Tower, and doing a Mission elsewhere, Like assasinating the Leader of the SLF, he can't be at the White Tower. Now, just as in RL, Characters develop and have their own personalities. The more you use them, the more of an individual they become. Warfare for instance, My main character, he's a generally kind generous God known for giving anyone near unlimited chances. He also happens to enjoy Tangleberries, a fruit only found pn Mirroden, because only Mirroden his enough Iron in the Soil for it to Grow. He wouldn't suddenly stop likeing Tangleberries. Everyone else in here knows he likes Tangleberries. I would need a very good reason for Warfare no longer liking Tangleberries. Same in Real Life. I love Ice cream, It would take something pretty major for me to not like Ice Cream.

What it all boils down to, is Role Playing. When Role-Playing, you stop being yourself. You are your Character, with their entire Personality, Problems, abilities, the whole Nine-yards. This doesn't mean you have Mental Problems, it just means your having fun, as long as you can leave it at the Computer. Its when you take your characters away from NS and pretend to be them all the time that problems arise.

Anyways, I think you can get it from here, so, any other questions?

OOC: Is the White Tower of Hoeth the one in warhammer?? with the swordmasters by any chance? Ta Warhaven. I would like to be a wizard that can summon a magical being to aid him, and control nature, is that possible?

IC: Artemis looked up at the massive tower rising before him. The White Tower He thought reverently. Finally I am here, I hope that they will let me in

He walked up to the door. He looked up at the magnificent carvings upon the door, depicting anything that the scultor had decided to depict by the looks of things. The carving had no reason, in places they were ordered and lawful and on the complete opposit to that they were chaotic, in any random direction. On one side they were flowing and swirling, like water, on the opposite, they were flaring, and eyecatching, like fire. Then there were carvings of whirls and curls, like the wind, and opposite that, the carvings were solid and fklat, like the ground.

He knocked on one of the doors, not knowing what to expect. He let his thoughts drift back over the past few days. His family, simple woodspeople, killed, by marauding animals crossed with men. He had taken up his fathers scimitar, carved in flowing leafy looking runes, that had hung in the house above the fire since the days he had found it in the dead banshees cave. His father had had to use it many a time to defend his family and others around him from the evils of the forest. But that day his father had been caught away from the scimitar, and killed by a thrown spear. Atemis had taken the blade, and walked out, the weapon seemingly giving him strength. He had struck down three of the foul things, somehow the plants helping him, snaring and tripping the beasts. Then a large one had come at him. He had killed it evenbtually, and its body had smashed him to the ground. The marauders, their leader dead had fled into the woods, and Artemis, too exhausted to even shift the body, had fallen into an exhausted sleep.

Four days later, having slept outside in the woods, wth the trees and plants somehow providing him very comfortable lodgings, he was here at last. He stepped back from the door, and waited.

OOC: The White Tower does draw some elements from the Warhammer Fantasy version, yes. But, aside from that, it's anything you want it to be.

It seems that you want to use a familiar, a creature to aid you. That's cool, you'd be the first to do it. And nice choice of character name, Artemis. As it's a male, it means an exceptional hunter. Your opening post is amazing btw. Oh, and taking stuff from Warhammer Fantasy, such as your characters origins... I sense traces, ney, bucket loads of references to Sigmar.

IC: Eldrad appeared before the man,"You have travelled far, and seem tired. You are, of course, welcome here, as are all people"

Being a clairvoyant, he had forseen the man's arrival. He knew his name, the latest part of his history, and his first aims at the Tower. All, just by looking at him.

"Please, do come in"

OOC: Oops, forgot all about Sigmar, darn , I think i'll change the weapon, don't want to be too much like him. I think i would do well with a mace.

IC: Artemis glanced about, he saw the wizard in front of him.

"Hello, I am Artemis, I am the only one left of my family. I would like to learn about magick, and I have this weapon, would I be able to give it to pay for any costs? I think it helps the bearer somehow, when i fought the plants seemed to help me."

He loooked inside, there was a massive spiral staircase rising up out of sight. There were many doors off the main room. But then he found his gaze drawn back down to the mage. The wizard was studying him with interest, and Artemis could sense the man knew something about him already.

" Who are you? What is your place here?" He waited for an answer while the man smiled at him.

Artemis glanced up and down himself, wandering what the man could be looking at with such humour. He realised with a start it was his eyes perhaps, their lavender colour had drawn looks before, yet only those who knew him knew that when he saw injustice occuring, they burned with an inner fire of righteous anger that inevitably led him to do something about it.

OOC: Not a wizard.

IC: Eldrad was not smiling, nor was he looking at the man's eyes. His hands were clasped behind his back, and his Eldar wraithbone armour seemed to flow around him. A witchblade was clasped to his side, and his hair, incredibly light, seemed to cascade down his back, shimmering in the light,"Your purpose and the reason that you are here are already known to those of us who look into the maelstrom of time," he said, glancing at the weapon that the newcomer held,"As for payment, it is not neccessery here. This is a tower of learning, and is open to all. Neutral ground, I hasten to add"

As for the question, the tone of the man's voice did not cause any movement of his facial features, but beneath his skin, his mind instantly went into overdrive, analysing the man in front of him. It made him deeply suspicious, when one so young made such sweeping questions with the air of a person who always got what he wanted,"My name is Eldrad, and I am the Snake Eater representative here. I am also an Eldar Farseer, and hail from Ulthwe Craftworld. Now, Artemis, tell me, why do you come here, as opposed to somewhere else?"

OOC: Don't go blaming me for you using new words, like Proper English as opposed to American. Also, you're not the only person capable of teaching. Sure, me and Kay don't have Druids or familiars (notice the correct spelling of the word), but we can still teach the essence of control to a new student.

Zombies, I apologise for this slight outburst in the direction of Warhaven, and you are of course welcome to learn from him (he does have good knowledge of what he speaks about... mostly), but as you may have noticed, this is something I rather take offence to, when people assume that others are incapable of teaching.

IC: I come here because I harbour an ambition to become almost one with nature. I have always lived surrounded by nature, and I have always had an affinity with animals. They have always liked me. The reason I have come here is that I have heard that this is the foremost place of magical learning. I would like to do well and I have heard I can do that the best here. Would it be possible for me to learn these things I have expressed a wish for, or is that impossible to do."

He studied the Eldar before him. He had a graceful, easy stance, and the blade and armour he wore and carried both seemed of the same bonelike substance. He was distinctly elven in appearence, yet not so. He seemed sadder than an elf, as if some sort of great tragedy had befallen him. Artemis found his gaze once again drawn to the Eldar's eyes, where he could see great wisdom, yet they unnnerved him also, the way he knew about him. Artemis didn't like this, and felt memories of his family inexorably rising to the fore.

Eldrad nodded,"You speak of being a Druid. I am not one, and as such in that respect, I cannot help you. I could help you to find a teacher that does know, however. I can also teach you basic magickal skills, such as harnessing the energies around and within you to maximum effect. It is a skill that takes moments to learn, yet centuries to truly master. You are only human, after all, and as such you will not be able to achieve the same level of control as, say, myself or one of my collegues. But you do appear to have much potential within you."

He was watched very carefully from the side of the courtyard by another person, a woman dressed in a simple red and white robe. Her hair was as black as the night, and her eyes were similar in nature, so deep you could lose yourself in them. Her hair was long, reaching halfway down her back. It was tied a simple style, a lock of hair hanging forward from the fringe. Her skin, whilst not pale, was lighter than a normal human. Who she was, no one knew. She was a newcomer to the Tower, and nobody had yet heard her speak more than the few words she had uttered when she had arrived,"I am here to learn more of aeromancy. Nothing more, nothing less"

There was something oddly familiar about her to those who met her, as if they were suffering from an acute case of deja vu. She reminded many very strongly of Cougar. Her facial structure, the look in the eye. It was surreal. At her side, she carried a blade of wrought obsidian, sheathed in simple leather. There was nothing that could identify her, bar an emblem slung around her neck. She hadn't yet demonstrated what she could do, but there was yet again something that didn't quite fit.

She watched the man from Piekrom as he walked away, and sighed,"He believes that he is stronger than he actually is... it will most likely be his downfall"

Two Drow men arrived, one with red eyes, the other with green.

The green-eyed one looked at his companion. "Why did we come here?"

"First of all, Rildorath, the Queen has interest in this facility, as many of our mages study here at least some of the time. The second reason is, if my grandson's grandson is here, then I wish to see if he has progressed in these last three years."

As Tari did the double take, Delerios shot a look at the Drow girl's back.

Why did she give me that look?
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 15:29
"This way."

The white mage started leading the woman toward one of the open-air courtyards.

"I'm Aldir, by the way. Son of a Gray class and a Pyromancer."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 15:32
"My name is Rosemary, but most people just call me Rose for short. Daughter of a diplomat and a banker, so not quite as exciting growing up"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 15:34
"That's interesting enough. Diplomacy is a new thing for my nation, while magick is fairly old...but we just figure that differences among friends make both stronger."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 15:36
Rose smiled,"Well, that much is true at least. I came here because people said it would suit me. Airy-fairy type and all that. They said 'Magick of the air would be perfect for somone like you, head always in the clouds'"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 15:42
"Phhhht. The class that most often has its 'head in the clouds' is the red class...pyromancers, y'know. Aeromancers normally have more sense to 'em. Oh...well, we don't even know if you have the talent for magick yet. Here, take this."

He conjured a glowing sphere, and held it out to her.
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 15:46
She merely shrugged,"Well, we don't always know these things"

She took the sphere, and held it steady in her hand. It seemed to glow brighter than before,"It's beautiful"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 15:47
"And it answers that question. Anyway, come on."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 15:49
Rose, still clutching the sphere in one hand, followed Aldir. For a human, she was quite short, and stood barely an inch higher than he did,"Hold hard, what do you mean?"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 15:53
"Unless you can use magick, you can't maintain one of these. It's our most basic test."

He reaches out, takes the sphere back, and extinguishes it.
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 15:55
"Interesting..."
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 15:57
"Anyway..." he said as they reached the courtyard, "why do you want to learn magick?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 15:59
Rose was slightly taken aback by the question,"Well... it's more a self-confidance thing. I don't have a lot of it, and I'm not good at most things. But, an aeromancer came by us one day, and he showed me how to do things with the air... told me I had a gift. Since then, I've wanted to see what he meant"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 16:02
"So, you seek to learn magick for your own justification, right?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 16:04
"In a manner, but I also want to help people. I want to be able to use magick to help others in need... it's the right thing to do"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 16:06
"But your main reason is for yourself, no?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 16:07
"That's a problem, isn't it"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 16:09
"Yes. Magick is a powerful and dangerous force. As such, a mage has to be selfless, from the learning of their magick to the use of it. Your people have tales of 'witches' and 'wizards' who were depicted as evil because of how they used their magick, right?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 16:11
Rose was crestfallen,"Yes... you may as well say it."
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 16:18
"Those are the ones that learned magick for themselves, instead of for others. I'm not saying that you can't learn magick...but first, you must unlearn what you have learned. And that's not always easy."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 16:20
"Hey, I've seen this movie, alright. My motives are pure, of that I can assure you"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 16:22
"Everyone assumes their motives are always for the best...for themselves, for others...pure motives are merely...subjective."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 16:23
"Then let me learn"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 16:25
"This is going to take time, committment, and work. Work which will not immediately pay off, and will only rarely seem to pay off. It is a difficult journey, for to know magick, you must first truly know yourself."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 16:26
Now I'm beginning to regret my decision

"Alright... I'm willing to do what it takes"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 16:29
The mage sat there for a bit...thinking. He'd been an aeromancer from the time he could walk, had been raised to the philosophy. Now, how could he help this one learn that.

"Aldir, don't worry about it," said a voice from behind. "I'll help her with this much, then you can teach her your magick."

It was the same girl as before. "After all...this is what my class does."

The white clad mage had jumped, but then he nodded. "All right...I'll be back later."

the girl took the seat the mage had been in. "You have reservations about this."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 16:32
"I have reservations about many things. This is a whole new world... but I want to learn"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 16:33
"Explain to me what you hope to find, and who you hope to become through your knowledge of magick."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 16:36
"I've always felt out of place with my family... like I'm radically different. I didn't know anything of magick until a mage showed me that I had a skill, and I thought... foolishly, no doubt, that magick would help me further understand myself."
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 16:37
"Were you adopted into your family, or born into it?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 16:39
"Born into it, why?"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 16:41
"You remind me of someone who, to his knowledge, has no blood family left. Well, that's not true, he just got some. But none older than ten days, anyway.
"How do you think magick will help you find yourself?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 16:43
Rose shook her head,"No, I'm an only child. It would help me see things clearly... the world is so clouded, my mind is clouded. I want to take away that veil, if you will, and see what's beyond... within myself."
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 16:44
"Well, that's more an inward journey than an outward one...what is your earliest memory? How old were you, who was there, what happened? What sensory things can you remember?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 16:48
"My earliest memory..."

*Flashback*
"MUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"... it's when I was about... five, maybe six. It was a day trip we went on, one of dad's rare times off work. We went to a lovely beach and had a wonderful time. Just me, my mum and dad... and ice cream. Lots and lots of ice cream. I can still feel the sunlight on my skin at times... it's among my happiest memories"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 16:57
"Five? That's a bit old for an earliest memory...how old are you now?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 16:58
"I'm thirty two"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 16:59
"Have you ever meditated before?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:00
"No, never"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:03
"Then this is going to be difficult. Close your eyes, and breathe. In and out, in and out, steadily...There is nothing here...nothing but your conciousness."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:05
Nothing here...

She shrugged, and closed her eyes, concentrating on her breathing and nothing else.
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:07
"Allow this universe to expand. You see one thing. What is it?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:08
There was a brief pause, and then,"I don't know what it is... a house of some sort"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:09
"Focus on a detail."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:11
"The door... it's wide open"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:12
"Go through the door."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:15
"It's dark in here... smells like burning... theres someone over there"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:16
"Male or female, adult or child, human or non?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:17
"Male adult... non-human... oh god, no, not one of them"

There was a note of fear in her voice.
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:18
"It can't hurt you. Look away from it. What else do you see?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:19
"There are bodies... two humans, one male and one female. They're dead, both of them"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:19
"Do you know them?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:20
"They look familiar... but no, I don't know them"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:20
"Look around the room. Is there anyone else there? Anything that you know?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:21
"There are two children... a boy and a girl. The boy is older, he seems to be protecting the girl"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:22
"What does the boy look like? Are there any distinguishing features about him?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:23
"His hair... it's brilliantly blond... almost white"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:23
"His eyes?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:24
"Blue... astonishing."
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:24
"Do you know him?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:25
"It's like the adults... he looks familiar. But I don't know who he is"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:26
"What do you think his name is?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:27
"I don't know... I just don't know"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:27
"All right. What about the girl? Anything that distinguishes her?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:28
"Her hair... it's jet black. She couldn't look more different to him"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:29
"What about her eyes?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:29
"A deep brown..."
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:31
"Who is she?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:31
"I don't know..."

Her eyes opened,"How is this helping me?"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:32
"This is a part of you. How old was the girl?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:33
"I don't see how... but she was about two, maybe a little bit younger"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:35
"I think you know her."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:37
It was if something had flipped a switch in Rose's mind,"How do you know, hmm?"

Her eyes had that hard, haunted quality to them. It was exactly the same as Cougar's.
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:39
"Call it a hunch. In any event, going that deep so fast must have left you weary. Rooms are upstairs, three corridors forward and hook a left. Then pick a place."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:40
She was instantly back to her nice friendly demenour,"Thanks... I never caught your name"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:41
"Tari. And yours is?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:42
"Rosemary, but most people call me Rose"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:45
"All right. I'll be back tomorrow...but for now, I have to leave."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:47
"Alright, see you soon"

Rose left the area, and went where Tari had directed her, falling asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:48
Tari teleported back to Rendelmar and went looking for Cougar.

OOC: For our new members, Rendelmar is NOT a place you may go.
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:50
Cougar was just looking over something, having returned home not thirty minutes before. He was going to the Tower soon enough, as Eldrad had called him, something about a guy wanting to talk to him.
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:51
"I find you without one of the twins...amazing."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:52
"Both of them started crying to be fed at the same time. That's something I can't help with, despite my many talents"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:53
"True, not until next week. Anyway, did you have a sister, by any chance?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:53
His eyes flashed,"I did... but she's dead. Or at the very least, missing, presumed dead"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:54
"What was her name, and what did she look like?"

Wow...same facial expression.
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:56
"Rosemary... black hair, dark eyes... she was only two at the time."

He raised an eyebrow at her,"What is this all about? I never told anyone about me having a sister"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 17:56
"I think she's at the Tower. Call it a hunch."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 17:57
"My sister is dead. I've seen the records myself, looked for years to find her. People don't dissapear"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 18:00
"Does this scene look familiar to you?"

Tari ran an illusionary replica of the vision (with what details she had) that she'd heard during the meditation.
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 18:02
"You could have got that from anywhere... I've told a few people here, and we all know Rendelmar has no secrets"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 18:02
"But could a Snake Eater woman have gotten that? Because that's what she described to me when I ran her through a meditation. Eeriest thing ever."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 18:05
Cougar brushed past Tari,"I don't want to hear about it! My sister is dead, understand me?! I searched for almost twenty years, went through so many records to try and find her! Nothing! Not one mention of her..."
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 18:06
"Fine. Don't believe me. It's not like you need a sister, anyway, what with two kids to take care of."

She teleports to some other location in Rendelmar, to a class, or some other event.
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 18:08
He went back to his room, and sat on the edge of the bed, obviously distressed.
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 18:11
Rhenna had just set Barrus in the crib when Cougar entered.

"Something wrong, James?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 18:14
"Something Tari was saying to me... she claims to have found my sister. At the Tower of all places. But my sister is dead!"
Theao
24-09-2005, 18:27
Costh had travelled to the Tower for a chance to rest and meditate. As he wandered the halls, he noticed a lady with similarities to Cougar, but put it down to too many busy nights.

He sat down in the courtyard and began meditating.
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 18:31
"Something Tari was saying to me... she claims to have found my sister. At the Tower of all places. But my sister is dead!"
"So say the records. Do you have any idea how many messages I've gotten informing me that I was a widow?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 18:33
"More than enough, I'll warrant"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 18:35
"True. It might be worth looking into. It might not. It is, ultimately, up to you. But wouldn't it make sense, to have found the both of you in the same place?"
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 18:36
He sighed,"I'll go look into it. Eldrad wants me at the Tower anyway."
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 18:42
She kissed him on the cheek. "At the very worst, James, it's an honest mistake."
Snake Eaters
24-09-2005, 18:44
He nodded, and smiled slightly,"Thanks. I'll be back later, got other things that seem to need doing at the Tower as well"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 18:47
"I'm not going much of anywhere...easier that way." She tilted her head toward the sleeping twins.
The zombies hehehe
24-09-2005, 18:48
Artemis stepped over the threshold into the White Tower, his hand unconsciously brushed the handle of his scimitar. "Is there any way that as well as being taught the ways of magic, I could receive the proper training towards being able to handle my weapon too?"

He saw people walking about, even a few elves around him. He wandered what secrets he could unlock from simply standing here and looking around, how amazing the whole place was.

His forresters garb seemed unkempt and dirty alongside all the magnificent robes around him. He unconciiusly blushed, realising the only thing about him that fitted in was his scimitar, it's scabbard and handle looking more magnificient than any other weapon that Artemis had seen.

He looked around, his mousey hair getting slightly into his green eyes. His broad shoulders, built from boyhood felling trees and lugging timber, complimented him nicely. He again focussed on Eldrad before him. A question came up into his mind, will these people accept me or not He struggled to keep a look of anxiety off his face, and somehow kept his face calm and confident, but not condescending.

"Certainley you could. I could help you, or my friend Cougar could. Or, if you wish, there are elven swordmasters here that can train you in ways you could not imagine. Magick and combat can be fused into one art, one science. Each complementing the other in ways you could not hope to understand at first, but the fog lifts soon enough."

**************************************************************

James smiled as he looked at his children, pecked his wife on the cheek ("See you later, don't wait up), grabbed the Katana of the Dead, and left for the Tower. He teleported so that he was standing next to Eldrad. His clothing was jet black ((Seen The Matrix: Reloaded? Neo's clothing from that, essentially)), but with it's own sense of style about it. His hair was dark blond, cropped short but still smart yet casual. His blue eyes shone in his tanned face, but they were serious. He was a fairly lithe man, considering his occupation as a solider, and mage of sorts. He stood at about 5'8'', and was thirty six years old.

"My thanks, is there some sort of training I must pass to become accepted into the Tower? And is this blade magical?" He said as he drew the scimitar out, the runes on it reflecting the light. Once again, Artemis was filled with a power that he did not understand. He thought back to the fight against the beastmen, how the plants had seemed to come to his assistance.

"I somehow had the help of the plants help me, snaring my families killers"

he fell silent for a few seconds

"and I believe it was down to my blade..."

As Costh meditated, he felt Cougar appear beside the sneaky, but skillful illusionist that was Eldrad and wondered whether his appearence had anything to do with the girl who had some similarities to James.

As he finished his meditations, he decided to seek-out Ishrem and see what he was doing now a days.

As he finished his meditations, he decided to seek-out Ishrem and see what he was doing now a days.
Ishrem had a few students at the Tower, and spent his time going between there to teach, and to Kaymiril, to spend time with his friends and family.

At the moment, he was outside, sketching something.

"No training is needed," said Cougar, who eyed the blade with some suspicion.

"Oh, I should introduce Colonel James Cougar, also of Snake Eaters. An excellent solider, and a powerful mage in training"
Kaymiril

"I see you've stopped running."

"Thanks in great deal to you." Costh replied
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 19:20
~snip~
"And what do you think of your new life?"
Theao
24-09-2005, 19:23
"Challenging." Costh replied, "I've managed to figure out a general solution to most of the problems but..." Here he trailed off.
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 19:24
"But...?"
Theao
24-09-2005, 19:28
"When you're married to a goddess, or demi-goddess who's the personification of Love, Attraction, Beauty, and Vengence," Costh said, "It can get rather, shall we say, challenging."
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 19:34
Ishrem started laughing.

"Speak to Cougar about that, it sounds more like his wife than mine."

The rune mage stopped laughing.

"In all honesty, any marriage takes work...from both parties. You cannot always have your way, nor can she. Compromise is a wonderful invention...one that perhaps you and your wife should implement."
Theao
24-09-2005, 19:48
"I'll try that, as well as talking to Cougar." Costh replied, "So what are you drawing?"
Kaymiril
24-09-2005, 19:51
"The landscape. Hoeth is unique for this landscape, and by scribing things with my hands, I keep my fingers disciplined for when I need to scribe things with fashka."

Artemis, startled by the sudden appearance of the man with the shocking blonde hair stared, open mouthed. He quickly remembered his manners and he saw the way the man, Cougar, looked at the scimitar suspiciously. Artemis wondered why, then quickly put the blade away, seeing the way it looked to the mean's eyes. His friend, face to face with a newcomer who's blade was drawn.

"Sorry.... my name is Artemis... Artemis Falconhand. I was just talking to Eldrad about becoming a wizard who can fight...."

Kaymiril

"When can I begin to learn how to use my weapon? And where can I find out if it is magical?"

E -- "Simple test"

He ran a diagnostic spell through his fingers, and touched them to the scabbard. He flinched, and stepped backwards,"It is indeed magickal... and of a large amount of power."

Could it be a demon weapon?

C -- "You wish to be a druid, I believe? What you are talking about, a mage who fights, is commonly known as a Warmancer. They are rare, incredibly so. But, I can help you with learning how to weild the weapon"

Artemis looked around. He felt foolish. He pulled the blade out of the sheath, expecting to feel his surge of confidence that he had gained when using it against the beasts....

Nothing happened.

He waited, then thought Ah well I can try to show waht I can do Putting one hand up facing his opponent, he raised the blade so its blde was above his head, with the blade facing upwards. He did as his father had tried to instruct him, and moved quickly, feinting to the right with the blade, then at the last moment he changed direction and went for the left. He knew how bad he was at this, yet he thought he might have gotten past his opponent.

What Artemis was not to know was the skill that Cougar possessed in the use of any and all weapons. He was considered by many to be the equal of Warhaven's greatest Paladin, an honour not bestowed upon many. Cougar was quicker, using a light katana as opposed to a heavy scimitar, which gave him the advantage. He dodged the feint, and rapped Artemis' knuckles with the flat of the blade, just enough to shock him slightly, but not trying to hurt him. He smiled, and said in a normal tone of voice,"Don't over commit, it will leave you open."

He seemed to dance as he moved, his feet always finding key points, his weight nicely balanced on the balls of his feet.

Out in the courtyard, an aeromancer was sparring with a hydromancer. The water and winds struggled against each other, and the water, pure and clean from the nearby fountain, sparkled in the sunlight.

"Amazing, isn't it? Mere children, and the winds and waters dance at their commands."

A man was standing by a pillar overlooking the courtyard. He carried a sword on his hip, and had armor covering his upper torso, but not his arms. His skin was coal black, and his white hair was neatly pulled back, contrasting with the color of his ears enough to give a sharp view of how pointed they were. His eyes, still turned out, were a deep red.
