"Ah, but this one is of extreme luxary," he said, closing the door behind him, and signalling to the driver. He knew they had the month off, and took a bottle of champagne from the fridge, along with two glasses. He took his jacket and tie off, undoing his top button, and poured the two glasses. Giving one to Rhenna, he smiled and said,"Heres to us"
Warhaven
03-04-2005, 23:03
Warfare smiled as they got into the Limo. Another happy couple. He pointed his finger at the Sky and wrote in the Clouds:
"Congratulations to Colonel James Cougar and Misses Rhenmet Cougar on their marrage. Good luck and best wishes for both."
Kaymiril
03-04-2005, 23:03
And to a longer life together than we expected when we woke up this morning.
Snake Eaters
03-04-2005, 23:06
That as well*clinks his glass to hers, then drinks. Loking out the window, he sees Warfare's message*Take a look at this
Theao
03-04-2005, 23:06
After Cougar and Rhenna left in the limo, Costh turned to one of SHADOW agents and asked "Could you explain the point of all that ceramony and the whole ritual?"
Kaymiril
03-04-2005, 23:09
*She takes a sip of the drink and looks out of the window, and laughs* Ah, Warfare. *She lays her head on his shoulder* What a day.
Snake Eaters
03-04-2005, 23:09
Wolf looked at the young man,"If only we knew ourselves. All I can tell is that it plays a special role... and we've got to let them have it. They've found each other, and that's all that matters"

James looked down at her, and placed his glass in a holder some distance away, before laying his arm around her shoulders and squeezing gently,"What a day indeed. Renor gave us a month off as well"
Kaymiril
03-04-2005, 23:13
I know. Frankly, he didn't see the point to it, but I pursuaded him to give us a little time together.
Snake Eaters
03-04-2005, 23:14
At least you managed that one. I don't think anyone else could though
Kaymiril
03-04-2005, 23:16
It doesn't exist in our culture...however, I think he believes you need time off, and since I just married you, you wouldn't go anywhere without me. However...we may never know.
Snake Eaters
03-04-2005, 23:23
I can see his logic. We could all do with some time off really. So much in such a short space of time. To a human, it's exhausting to say the least*knocks on the driver window*How long till we get back

Dr - An hour or so Sir, speed limits around here

C- Perfect. Take your time
Warhaven
03-04-2005, 23:25
The Queen was looking around.
"My this is certainly a big place. I don't think anyone would mind if I grew to Full size." so saying, she concentrated. She turned to a Thick, dense mist. Her dress fell to the Ground, and became a Mistform Sliver. He Quickly Slithered out of the way. The Queen, having almost grown to her full size, stretched out to 150ft in length, and 10 feet in heighth. She then resumed her normal Form.
"Much better." The Queen hissed.

"Ha ha, Feel better?" Warfare asked the Queen.
Kaymiril
03-04-2005, 23:27
So, tell me, James Cougar...what do you intend to do with six and a half centuries, give or take?
Snake Eaters
03-04-2005, 23:30
I'm not sure. Haven't had a chance to think about it really... I'll have to get back to you on that one...

1 hour and 30 minutes later
Dr - We're back, Sir

C - Thanks

He waved the man off, knowing he would be paid later, then looked at Rhenna,"The end to the perfect day approaches. How would my lady wife wish to spend it?"
Warhaven
03-04-2005, 23:36
Warfare leaves, he takes the Queen and the Mistform Sliver back to Riptide. He then departs for his Lab.
Kaymiril
03-04-2005, 23:38
*Sliding an arm around him* Preferably not outside.
Snake Eaters
03-04-2005, 23:41
He smiled, and scooped her up off the floor,"What a good idea."He opened the door, and took her inside,"Welcome to married life, Rhenna" He kissed her, and carried her off into the house...
Kaymiril
03-04-2005, 23:44
Rhenna woke before James did, and conjuring a kimono-style robe, she went downstairs to talk to D'anthe. He hadn't appreciated being told to stay downstairs...but you can't always have a pet around.

She conjured a brush as the raven started complaining.

"Hey, quit it, you'll wake him up." She began brushing out her hair.

This is why you never have your hair loose when you sleep. Because you know it tangles.

"I didn't ask for your opinion."

Why do you care if he wakes up now or later?

"Hey, I don't wake you up, do I?"
Snake Eaters
03-04-2005, 23:57
James woke up half an hour after Rhenna, and already knew where she was. He didn't know how, he just did. Grabbing his own dressing gown from the back of the door, he set out and eventually came upon her being verbally assualted by D'anthe. He smiled, and came up behind her,"Sleep well?"
Kaymiril
03-04-2005, 23:58
Very. What about you?

*D'anthe, now that James is down, switches who he is verbally assaulting.*
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 00:00
I can quite safely say that is one of the best sleeps I've had... ever. D'anthe... shut up
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 00:06
D'anthe, harl.

*The glider reshapes into a metal cylinder, which Rhenna takes in her hand.*

Sorry about him...he's not used to being alone, especially not for that long.

*She moves over, making room for him.*
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 00:09
He smiled, and sat down next to her. He put his arm round her waist,"Don't worry about it. I have an idea what he was saying... let him rant all he wants. I can't understand, therefore it can't bother me"
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 00:10
He doesn't like you very much...he's really spoiled. He'll have to learn better, fairly quickly.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 00:14
Oh well, its something he's going to have to get used to, this sort of life. Poor bird...
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 00:16
Don't sympathise with him too much. Let him get it out of his system, then he'll be all right.

Anyway, on another note...we have a month before we have to go back. What all should we do?
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 00:18
That's the beauty of it, we can do whatever we want. Anything, and everything. Our last holiday got cut short, so we deserve a decent one this time.
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 00:20
First Shan, then Naggoden, then Death and Dark Warfare...I've never been away for a month before...I don't know what life outside of Rendelmar is.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 00:22
You now have a month to expierence it. I can take you anywhere in the galaxy. Anything is possible. There must be something that you've always wanted to do but never had the chance?
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 00:23
I've always wanted to see what a real volcano looked like.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 00:25
He smiled,"Theres a starting point then. I know a place a few systems from here, largest we know of. We'll start there"
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 00:26
Sounds good. As soon as one or the other of us decides to get up.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 00:27
I can think of far worse places, with far worse people*kisses her*
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 00:29
She lets the kiss linger. She feels absolutely comfortable, with the place, person...I could definitely think of worse situations than this.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 00:32
After a few minutes, in which he had fought to control himself, he pulled away from her, brushing one of his hands along her leg as he did so,"I have cooking to do. Care to help?"
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 00:50
*She smiles at him* Of course.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 00:54
*Leads her to the kitchen*Right, everything's as I left it last time... so in theory*snaps his fingers, and a number of things fly from cupboards. Orange juice pours itself into two glasses, and bread settles into the toaster*

A few moments later, and he was sat at the table, spreading his toast liberally with butter,"Take whatever, it's as much yours as mine now"
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 00:56
She takes a glass of orange juice and sits, sipping at it.

"I really don't see how you can eat in the morning."
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 00:58
Force of habit. It's something I just do, don't know why. I was always told breakfast was the most important meal of the day when I was younger
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 01:00
I stopped eating in the mornings when I was fifty. Come to think of it...I can't think of any of the adults that eat in the morning. Odd...
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 01:01
So loaded with work you forget to eat. Everybody does it at some stage, you just do it constantley. I may one day stop eating breakfast... not just yet though
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 01:03
I'm never going to tell you you can't...it's just not something I'm used to.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 14:09
He smiled, and finished up his breakfast. Sending his plate to the sink, he stood and walked up behind Rhenna, wrapping his arms around her from behind,"Ready to go whenever you are"
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 21:59
Ready to go? Neither of us are dressed to go anywhere. *teasingly* And you're not making it any easier to move.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 22:02
We could do with getting dressed, and would you rather I let you go?
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 22:03
Not entirely.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 22:04
That's not a real answer
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 22:05
The closest thing to a real answer you're going to get is: No, I wouldn't rather you let me go, but we can't go anywhere if you don't.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 22:06
He thought carefully about it, then let her go,"Point taken"
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 22:12
She stands and kisses him, then teleports upstairs, returning a few minutes later fully dressed and ready to go.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 22:15
"I've got to learn how to do that," he said, levitating himself off the floor and ghosting through the ceiling. He returned after a few minutes as well, clad in his normal clothing, but without the cloak,"Now, that solves that problem of clothes*kisses her*
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 22:20
*Kisses him back and smiles at him* Then let's go.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 22:23
He took her hand, and lead her from the house. They began to walk towards the spaceport,"I've had to rent a pleasure yacht, as I left the Dauntless in Mithdelmar. Lap of luxary though"
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 22:25
I find it amazing, sometimes, the way your people live. You ride around in boxes for fun.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 22:27
He decided not to rise to the challenge, and smiled,"Only way to get around. We can't zapp from planet to planet, or fly on metal ravens. You have to make some allowances"
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 22:31
Princess Anna was actually the first of our people to ride in ...what was it called...I think it was an "automobile" at the beginning of her diplomatic meeting to Pschycotic Pschyos. She described it as a "box on wheels," which is pretty much how we think of them. As for spacecraft...well, you were there.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 22:33
I don't like cars at all. Space craft... are needed here. Ah well, it's different for every person
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 22:34
True, I suppose.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 22:39
By this time, they were at the space port. James checked which ship was theirs, and led her to a ship, away from the others. It was royal blue in colour, and hummed with a quiet grace. Her lines weren't sharp, but flowing. She looked as if she had been grown out of the ground. He smiled,"Say hello to the Lady of the Lake. She's ours for the month."
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 22:41
It's beautiful.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 22:45
"Glad you approve. She's top of the range. Come on". A hatch appeared as if from nowhere, and he stepped aboard. The ship sprang to life, and a soft voice said,"Welcome to the Lady of the Lake"

He sat down, and tapped in the course,"Tova, here we come"
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 22:48
These things are still odd to be in...then again, kind of difficult to teleport somewhere you've never been...

Rhenna takes a seat, and looks out the viewscreen.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 22:51
Cougar brought them out of the atmosphere, and as the ship arrowed towards Tova, an hours flight away, he settled back into his chair. He sense Rhenna's uneasieness about the whole thing, and went over to her,"You ok?"
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 22:51
Yeah. Don't worry, I'll get used to this at some point.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 22:57
You've got many years to get used to it*Notices her hair is tied up, and lets it loose*First, let this down. That's what holidays are for
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 22:59
She shakes her head, mildly amused.

"All right. I'll leave it down in the shuttle or in the house, but it goes back up again when we set down."
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:00
Sounds fair to me
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 23:04
She reaches up to take his hand, then leans back in her chair, looking forward once more.

"The stars look so different out here...so much clearer..."
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:07
He took her hand, and joined her staring out at the stars,"You should see some of them closer. The Blue Giants are the best to look at... so beautiful"
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 23:09
She nods.

"We'll have to go sometime, then. Although I think we should also take some time to see the parts of your world that you want to see, yet."
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:11
Maybe, but Tova first. Most geologically unstable planet for lightyears... huge volcanos
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 23:12
Sounds enjoyable...not a great place to live, but a good place to spend a day.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:14
Oh people don't live there, other than a few scientists. Most live of the station in orbit. Speaking of which, I should check which one is erupting today... Tova Majoris! Perfect. Largest one there
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 23:15
Should be something to see, then.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:16
Can be seen from space sometimes. But it's better if you're close-ish. Not too close obviously*smiles*
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 23:18
Unless you're Phish. But for people like you and me...no, probably not.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:21
He took the ship into the atmosphere, which was surprsienly clear for a planet such as this. In the distance, the great mountain rose above a plain of basalt and flowing lava,"Take a good look, it won't be like this in five minutes"
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 23:23
Well...that seems very conveniently timed.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:25
Actually, it's sheer luck that we got here for this one. We can detect when they will happen, but not till the morning before
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 23:28
But we get out the door and into the ship, then to the planet within five minutes of the time it's supposed to erupt? *She laughs* I guess we've just got good timing.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:29
He smiled,"Alright, I'll admit it, I planned this. I knew it was something you wanted to see, and did a check. Still, are you going to complain?"
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 23:31
Probably not.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:35
"Good," he said, moving the ship higher, as if sensing something,"Here it comes... look at this!"

The top of Tova Majoris had exploded. The rumble could be heard all around the planet, and the lava flowed lethargiclly down the sides. The pumice and ash rose up towards the ship, but he moved it out the way, circling the mountain,"Take a look"
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 23:37
She sits there, her hand in his, just watching the spectacle. It was truly one of the most magnificent things she'd ever seen.
Avendosora
04-04-2005, 23:39
 I spit on you! Ai Sedai witch! :sniper: :mp5: :gundge:
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:40
He held off for half an hour, letting the bulk of the ash move out of the way, before taking them into space,"You should still be able to see it, an eruption that large"
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:40
 I spit on you! Ai Sedai witch! :sniper: :mp5: :gundge:
OOC: Go home kid. Don't try and anger us, we will annihilate you
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 23:46
He held off for half an hour, letting the bulk of the ash move out of the way, before taking them into space,"You should still be able to see it, an eruption that large"
It was quite a sight. And the day isn't even half over.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:49
True... time does fly when you're having fun
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 23:49
*Leaning back in her chair*

What else is there to do today?
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:51
Lemme see*checks computer screen*Hmmm... thats odd.
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 23:52
What is?
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:55
These readings... they show a wormhole appearing. Very rare, very beautiful to watch, apparently. Care to go see? I doubt many will be seeing this yet
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 23:55
Sure, let's go.
Snake Eaters
04-04-2005, 23:57
After another hours travelling, they emerged close to the wormhole. There is was, huge, spinning on it's axis, a tear in space. James simply held her hand, and stared,"wow......."
Kaymiril
04-04-2005, 23:59
Oh, it is beautiful.
Snake Eaters
05-04-2005, 00:00
Legends claim wormholes go from one side of the galaxy to the other.. but no ones ever tried using them
Kaymiril
05-04-2005, 00:07
Well, we could try, but are we garunteed a way back?
Snake Eaters
05-04-2005, 00:08
Depends where we come out. It could take years on a warp drive like this, its not meant for long haul
Kaymiril
05-04-2005, 00:10
I really didn't think so.
Snake Eaters
05-04-2005, 00:13
Good call.*checks his watch*It's actually gettin fairly late already. Scary, but then again we didn't get up as early as we normally do
Kaymiril
05-04-2005, 00:13
I'm surprised we managed to get up at all.
Snake Eaters
05-04-2005, 00:15
He smiled,"Maybe we won't tomorrow..."
Kaymiril
05-04-2005, 00:16
She smiles back. "Well, that would be fairly lazy of us, now wouldn't it?"
Snake Eaters
05-04-2005, 00:17
Vacations are meant to be lazy, thats their role
Kaymiril
05-04-2005, 00:20
Like I told you before...I'm not familiar with vacations.
Snake Eaters
05-04-2005, 00:23
True, and I know that. It's a chance to spend some time together. Somehow I don't think Renor could have managed two newlyweds in Rendelmar for too long
Kaymiril
05-04-2005, 00:24
No, probably not. *Laughing* It probably was the easiest course of action for him to just get rid of us for the next month, and thereby avoid much unpleasantness.
Snake Eaters
05-04-2005, 19:51
He laughed along with her,"Most likely. Can you imagine it?*shudders* Rendelmar would get pretty scary right now." He tapped a console, and the ship jumped into the warp. He stood once again, and come up behind her, his hands on her shoulders,"Still, I can't say I'm not glad he sent us away"
Kaymiril
05-04-2005, 23:22
Neither am I. This month, fleeting though it may be...I have the feeling that neither one of us will ever forget it.
Snake Eaters
05-04-2005, 23:23
I'd hope so. It isn't something I'd want to forget either
Kaymiril
05-04-2005, 23:30
She leans back, reaching up with one of her hands to take one of his.
Snake Eaters
05-04-2005, 23:36
He smiled and took her hand, staring at the warp tunnel out the front of the ship
Kaymiril
05-04-2005, 23:40
It looks almost like a whirlpool...only, you can't see the bottom.
Snake Eaters
05-04-2005, 23:42
There is no bottom to this pool. The warp is a strange place, much like an ocean, with tides, eddies and currents
Kaymiril
05-04-2005, 23:49
Ah, so this isn't terribly different from sailing.
Snake Eaters
05-04-2005, 23:50
You could say that. I've never been sailing, so I wouldn't know any better
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 00:19
Oh, sailing's wonderful. That's another thing we'll have to do sometime this month.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 00:21
He smiled,"I'd like that. I can just imagine it..."
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 00:23
It's better in real life.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 09:38
Then I look forward to it
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 21:07
The day proceeds fairly normally, and they're back home before sunset.

The next morning, Rhenna wakes before James (again) and she turns over on her side to look at him. A smile touches the corners of her lips, and she's tempted to reach out and stroke his hair, but decides to let him sleep.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 21:10
After she'd been looking at him for maybe five minutes he stirred. He rolled over, so that he was facing her. His eyes didn't open, but his lips moved,"Been awake long?"
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 21:11
No, just a few minutes. Trying to decide whether or not you want to wake up?
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 21:13
"No... I'm just too lazy to open my eyes at the moment," he said, a faint smile creasing the corners of his mouth
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 21:16
You humans are odd creatures. *She snuggles back up to him* So, are we getting up at all today, or no?
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 21:19
That all depends. Can you see any reason to get up today?
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 21:23
Other than to avoid being lazy...no, not really.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 21:28
"Everybody is entitled to be lazy from time to time, even you," he said, finally opening his eyes, and bringing his hand to her cheek,"I hope you slept well"
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 21:32
She nods.

"Better than I thought was possible when I slept last night, as well. What about you?"
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 21:38
No insomnia, which is a good start in any case. Best for quite a while.*Looks at clock*It's already ten in the morning. Quite scary
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 21:44
Ah well. Like you said yesterday...we're on vacation.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 21:46
He smiled, and then rolled onto his back, staring up at the ceiling,"Y'know it's odd. I never thought I'd be comfortable here again. Now, I feel as if I never left."
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 21:48
It is your home.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 21:50
It is, but something is different about it. You might not feel it, but I do. An old stain on her, something that cannot be erased just yet.
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 21:53
Yes...it does not feel exactly right. A house that people were murdered in might take up to a century to lose that feel...maybe more, depending on where the house is.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 21:56
He shook himself, and turned back to face her,"It'll go... just takes time. At least I've got someone to spend that time with*smiles at her*
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 22:00
She smiles back.

"Think you can hold up for six and a half centuries?"
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 22:06
I think I'm up to it. It'll take some getting used to, but I reckon I can manage
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 22:07
I don't know...*teasingly* You're married to a drow now, so how much you can handles may decrease.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 22:10
He put his arms round her,"Well... thats the risk I took isn't it"
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 22:11
Pretty much. *Her eyes close halfway, comfortably*

You know what...not getting up is starting to look attractive.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 22:14
He smiled,"That'll be your Dragon blood settling down again"
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 22:16
Yes, I know. But you show no inclination to get up, either, so what do you blame it on?
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 22:20
He couldnt help but laugh,"Alright, I blame myself. It's my fault, happy now?"
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 22:22
Actually, I'd describe it as "comfortable."
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 22:25
He allowed his eyes to close a bit, and just lay there,"mmmmmm, I'd say it was comfortable."
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 22:26
Neither of us are going to be able to sleep tonight. *Still isn't moving*
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 22:29
A stroll by moonlight sounds like just the thing. The main park is just a short walk from here, and its open twenty-four-seven. Sounds like a plan to me
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 22:32
Okay. Sounds good.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 22:41
He waited until she had settled, then rolled onto his back, her head lying on his chest. He lay there, his arms round her, and stared at the ceiling once more. After a while, he noticed a bird at the window. One glance told him it was an Arctic chough, a common enough sight this close to the mountains. He lay there, covered with the bed clothes, and watched it...
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 22:45
Rhenna lays there, comfortable. She looks out the window also.

"I wonder what D'anthe would make of that one. He's never seen one before."
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 22:48
It's a good question. Metal raven against flesh and blood Arctic chough... interesting scenerio
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 22:50
I really should send him back to Rendelmar for the month. He's going to be so bored, since he's getting shunted off to the side.

*One of her hands seeks out one of his*
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 22:53
"He'll hate you for that, for ages after we get back," he said, taking her hand in his and holding it
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 22:53
He'll hate me worse if I keep him here.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 22:55
He thought about this for a moment, then nodded,"Don't think he'd be very happy to see you like this"
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 22:58
That's why I told him to stay downstairs. Besides...is there really much he can do about it?
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 23:00
From the way you said it, I'm guessing not
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 23:01
She laughs. "And from the look on your face, it's probably a good thing he's downstairs." She leans up slightly to kiss him.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 23:04
He kissed her back, then shifted his position slightly so that his face was closer to hers,"There are some things that have to be kept secret... even to 'pets'"
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 23:12
Well, I can't say I mind. *She smiles at him.*
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 23:15
He winks at her. It is not something he does often, and it looks odd
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 23:16
She starts laughing.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 23:17
"Oh fine," he said in a teasing tone, rolling her over and pinning her down,"Now, what is so funny?"
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 23:34
You are. *She continues to laugh*
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 23:37
I'm glad you find me hilarious... sometimes I wonder just what I've got myself in for, then I remember: I love you." He kissed her neck, before moving upwards to her lips...
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 23:45
It was afternoon before Rhenna finally descended to the first floor. D'anthe comes right up to her and starts chattering.

"Hey, no one said I had to be up this morning. Just because you're not used to me sleeping, doesn't mean I can't."

More chattering.

"Oh, quit it already. Do you want to go back to Rendelmar?"

Irritible chattering, followed by the sound of ruffling "feathers."

"Fine."

She casts a spell, and there is no more noise.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 23:52
James finally emerged sometime later, dressed in his common black trousers and shirt. He came into the room as she sent D'anthe back to Rendelmar,"How'd he take it?"
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 23:54
He was grumpy because I took forever to come down. His response to my question "Would you rather go back to Rendelmar?" was "It would be better than being here." So I sent him. Don't think he was expecting it, though.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 23:55
He'll get over it. And he'll get used to you being married... I hope
Kaymiril
06-04-2005, 23:56
He won't have much of a choice. You'll be around longer than he will. These things are only supposed to be good for about three hundred years.
Snake Eaters
06-04-2005, 23:58
You'll be upset when he ends won't you? It's not something that you could just move on from.
Kaymiril
07-04-2005, 02:21
Nothing is forever, James. You live, you gain, you lose...things end, so do people...if you live, you move on. There is no other choice.
Snake Eaters
07-04-2005, 11:23
'Nothing is forever'. I've heard that one before. It's enscribed on my pendant, Cougar family motto
Kaymiril
07-04-2005, 22:07
It is an old truth.
Snake Eaters
07-04-2005, 22:12
Old truth maybe, but you can always move on from something. All it takes is time... so much time
Kaymiril
07-04-2005, 22:17
Which happens to be something you have...which may or may not be good for you, depending.
Snake Eaters
07-04-2005, 22:19
Depending on events? It really matters what the event is. Something like getting married, well worth it. Something like a close friend being killed or dying, as I know the other team-members will... that takes longer
Kaymiril
07-04-2005, 22:24
Yes...I know it won't be easy for you to watch them die, and know that you'll have centuries before they do. I don't know how well a human will stand up to the test of time...that worries me, some.
Snake Eaters
07-04-2005, 22:26
Is that what was worrying you a couple of days ago?
Kaymiril
07-04-2005, 22:29
She nods and bites her lip.

"I've never heard of a human to live more than a century and a half...normally less than that. With the potion, my blood would have helped you deal with the lifespan that you'd have. I don't know what Warfare's spell will do."
Snake Eaters
07-04-2005, 22:31
The average human lifespan is around eighty five to ninety years. Less for soliders. I'll just have to see how it goes. It'll be tough for those years, but I'll survive...somehow
Kaymiril
07-04-2005, 22:41
You won't be alone, either.
Snake Eaters
07-04-2005, 22:44
He took her hands in his, and looked at her,"Thanks. I've a feeling I'm going to need it"
Kaymiril
07-04-2005, 22:49
Probably. Time wears hard on us all. *She kisses him* In any event, the day is late. What should we do with the remainder of it?
Snake Eaters
07-04-2005, 22:51
He kissed her back,"Depends. What do you feel like doing?"
Kaymiril
07-04-2005, 22:52
I still don't know what there is to do in anywhere but Rendelmar. How about we stay local today, though?
Snake Eaters
07-04-2005, 22:54
He smiled,"I like the sound of that. Now... let me think. What to do in Snake City, on a late afternoon.... hm, difficult. Well, the bars and restaurants are always open. How about we eat out tonight, and then take a moonlight walk through the park afterwards?"
Kaymiril
07-04-2005, 22:58
Sounds like a good idea.
Snake Eaters
07-04-2005, 23:03
He smiled, and gestured at the nearby phone. It flew towrds him, and he caught it deftly,"I know just the place, hold on... Hello, is that the Riverside? Yes, I'd like a table for two... 7pm tonight... thanks"

He hung up, and sent the phone back to it's place,"That's that sorted then"

A few hours later
He led her in, and saw the look on the waiters face,"My advice - don't ask. We have a table booked"

"Right this way, Sir"

They were led to a table overlooking the marina at a point where the Cobrian river widened out. They sat down.

"Would you like to order drinks?"

He looked at her,"What would you like?"
Kaymiril
07-04-2005, 23:14
I don't know. I'll let you choose.
Snake Eaters
07-04-2005, 23:20
"Alright*To waiter*We'll take a bottle of the 2354 Scarion"

The waiters eyes nearly popped out of his red face. The most expensive wine we stock...,"Good choice, Sir. Would you care for anything else?"

"No, that'll be all for now, thank you"

The waiter, Terry Malone, scurried away,Man, those are strange people. A man... who could be a woman, and an alien. Then they order the most expensive wine in the house. Bet they tip well....

He returned five minutes later, and poured the wine for the couple. Cougar looked at him,"Thank you"

He took his glass, and raised it in Rhenna's direction,"Heres to us"
Kaymiril
07-04-2005, 23:25
She smiles at him, and takes a sip. "This is good."

She looks around, somewhat (understatement) uncomfortable with all the people there, and eyes on her/them, to boot.
Snake Eaters
07-04-2005, 23:29
Cougar noticed her discomfort, and gestured to Terry Malone again,"My wife is slightly uncomfortable with all the attention that is being directed in our direction. Would you please inform them to cease?"

"Certainley Sir."

He looked back at her,"Sorry about that, I know the feeling"
Kaymiril
07-04-2005, 23:32
It's okay. I should have thought to disguise myself as a human before we left the house. You also have to remember...I've never seen so many humans in one place before.

*She looks out at the river*

You like this river, don't you?
Snake Eaters
07-04-2005, 23:34
You shouldn't have to hide who you are. They just have to learn to accept. Nobody will say anything, we'd hear them if they did. As for the river, I grew up with it. It starts in the mountains, where I operated with the small boy unit. And it flows down to the ocean, where I've been on more than one occasion
Kaymiril
07-04-2005, 23:37
Ah...so it is a part of you, in essence.
Snake Eaters
07-04-2005, 23:48
You could say that. Most major events happened by this river... our wedding for example
Kaymiril
07-04-2005, 23:52
She smiles at the memory.

"Well, I would call that a major event, yes."

She lets the silence hang a moment. "I wonder what Shan thinks of Mithdelmar."
Snake Eaters
07-04-2005, 23:58
Maybe we should check in on him before we go home. I said I would at the very least
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 00:00
She nods.

"He probably won't like it at all. I studied there for two years, and if it's at all the same, he'll be hating it with a passion...still...there's not much we can do for him here...but there, they'll be able to help him."
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 00:21
And he'll need the help, after what Death has been trying to pull recently. He should get used to it after a time... although I think a familar face will do him good
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 00:25
Probably. He won't hate it because of the structure...he'll hate it because there is little tolerance for the pranks he pulls in Mithdelmar.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 00:30
Cougar couldn't help but smile,"Annoy Mith at your peril, I hope he learnt that quickly. He might have had the pranks drummed out of him... some hope"
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 00:39
He'll store everything up. When we get back, I'm going to have to start working on reinforcing Rendelmar against Shan.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 00:43
So roughly one year from now, all hell is going to break lose in Rendelmar, as Shan gets back?
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 00:45
Pretty much. As it stands now, there are exactly two places that would assuredly be safe from the pranks of Shan. Renor's private chambers, and the Cavern.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 00:48
That still leaves a fairly large area for Shan to work his magick, if you forgive the pun. I'm assuming we share a room when we get back? If so, that has to be protected. Knowing Shan, that'd be a prime target
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 00:49
Yes, we'll share a room. I expanded my room already, so it's large enough for two. Mine's just a little bit more conveniently located.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 00:51
He smiled,"I'll shift my stuff when we get back. Theres not much, but I left some at the White Tower, it's still in the Cobra Interceptor I left there."
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 01:38
She nods.

"Who'd have ever thought that we'd be sitting here, if they saw how we met? I believe I said something about you being worse than useless in the situation we were up against. It's one of the most amusing things I've encountered in my life."
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 01:40
It's not amusing to be on the recieving end, let me assure you. And I proved that I was by no means worthless... just needed some fine tuning.
Warhaven
08-04-2005, 01:43
Cougar couldn't help but smile,"Annoy Mith at your peril, I hope he learnt that quickly. He might have had the pranks drummed out of him... some hope"
OOC: Poor Shan. ROFLMFAO
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 01:43
Well, you still have much to learn. But you have time to learn it.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 01:47
Plently of time to learn it. Theres always something to work on... methinks it is time to order. Waiter!

*Malone rushes over*"Yessir?"

"I'll have the fried calamari, and my lady friend will have...?"
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 01:52
Rhenna orders a chicken dish.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 01:55
Malone scribbles the orders down, and returns ten minutes later. He lays the plates down, and then walks away,Still no tips... maybe he'll give them at the end

As he eats, Couagr finds himself watching the setting sun to the west. It frames the skyline and casts ripples of light along the surface of the water,"Beautiful."
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 01:58
I enjoy sunsets on your planet...but I still would not trade the Kaymirilian dawn for one of them.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 02:00
Both are beautiful in that way only the rising and setting of the sun can be. Just different stars, different patterns. I wonder if the Aurora will be about tonight
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 02:04
I don't think I've seen that before. I may have read something on it, once.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 02:05
We might be too far South tonight, but its worth seeing whilst we're here. The mountains are a great place to see it.
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 02:07
She nods.

"Since we have all month, I'm sure we can find time."
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 02:10
He smiles,"We will, don't worry"

A few hours later
He paid the bill, tipping Malone quite heavily ("For all your trouble"), before taking Rhenna by the arm, and leading her to the main park. It was quiet, and the moon's light cast an eerie glow over everything. He walked along, looking at the sky,"So many stars, and I've been to so few of them"
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 02:11
I've been to six, I think.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 02:14
He smiled,"Hopefully, if you ever warm to space travel, you'll get to see more of the galaxy. It's a beautiful place, all of it"
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 02:16
I'll get used to it, eventually. Something tells me I won't have much choice.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 02:18
He smiled,"Well, I'm not going to force you. Rendelmar is going to be my home, and of course I'll make occasional trips here, maybe twice a month. Other than that, unless I get called onto active operations again, I'm staying put"
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 02:20
She nods.

"Due to the Bonding spell, I'll always know roughly where you are, and in how much trouble you are. But I wouldn't keep you away from here too much...it is your home, moreso than Rendelmar ever could be, in a thousand years."
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 02:23
I know you wouldn't. But in a hundred years, this will all have changed. And it won't be the same place anymore, no matter how much I try to make it so.
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 02:24
That is true...In a hundred years, Shan will probably stand just shorter than you. Scary, no?
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 02:27
And he'll still be older than me. That's even scarier.
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 02:29
She laughs. "He is only a child. To your race, you are an adult."

She looks up at the sky. "I'd never have thought that a city like this would have a sky so full of stars."
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 02:31
Yet to your race, I am more a child than he is.*Looks up*You mean light pollution? Not Snake City. The entire city is designed to minimise the amoutn of light that escapes, thereby enabling us to see the stars whilst still feelig safe beneath street lamps... not that the unsavoury types round and about worry me. I could break them without looking at them
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 02:37
OOC: Lols @ the reference to him getting "mugged" the night before his wedding. She doesn't know about that yet.

IC:
That would be interesting to run into...although I don't think there's anything to worry about around here.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 10:20
Try it when you're mildly drunk, then it gets interesting.
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 20:20
*Raises an eyebrow* Oh?
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 20:26
He thought carefully,"Alright. I went out the night before we got married, a drink with the team. I had a few, not too many. Wasn't as bad as Matt, who was nursing a sore head the next day. Anyway, coming home, got threatened, broke him in some manner. All whilst slightly tipsy
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 20:29
I see.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 20:31
He stopped in his tracks,"You're not angry with me are you?"
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 20:32
No. I would have been if I'd been on-planet at that point, but the past is done with. I can do nothing about that situation, so why be bothered by it?
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 20:34
He took her hand,"Just for the record, I'm sorry anyway. I should have cleared it with you first"
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 20:38
Don't apologize. It was your last night to go off and do things like that without having someone to answer to. *She lets her fingers intertwine with his.* Not anymore, though.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 20:39
He smiled,"No more of that behaviour. Rest assured. You'd know now anyway"
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 20:40
Exactly.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 20:46
He walked with her through the park, taking in every detail of the park. As he looked upwards, he saw the Aurora. A vast cloud of light danced across the sky, painting it in heavenly shades of blue and green. He gestured upwards,"Take a look"
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 20:49
She does so, and is silent for a few moments. When she does speak, her voice is quiet.

"Oh, it's beautiful."
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 20:53
He sat down on a nearby bench, and leant backwards to watch the colours dance on the sky,"You won't see that in many places, I gurantee you that"
Kaymiril
08-04-2005, 20:54
No, probably not.
Snake Eaters
08-04-2005, 20:57
I've rarely seen anything as beautiful as the Aurora. I found something though. It's less than six feet away from me, black skin, white hair, female... need I go on?
