"Why would you want to teach here if you were the headmaster of your own college? What would you be teaching our students? What troubles might you bring to our walls?"

"Tolaria was destroyed. If you know me, then you know that my friend Barrin reduced it to ruin centuries ago, weeks after all of the students had died, and the defenders were fled. I would teach Artifice, the construction, repair, maintenance, and modification of mechanical and magickal devices, and whatever trouble I could bring to this place is long dead, save possibly the Dementia Summoners."

"Alright," Loki said with a nod of the head, his oversized hat flopping gently.

He closed his eyes and began to focus all of his might on the task at hand. He began picturing a golem in his mind similar to that he had seen Eldrad produce.

It soon began taking form nearby as Loki intensified his concentration...

The golem had finished taking form and now stood next to Loki. The black 'dwarf' looked at it, slightly amused and slightly surprised that he had been able to produce it.

"That's pretty cool..." he remarked as he examined his work.

"I believe I do." He replied as he fished around in his pockets and came out with a pitted peice of pink chalk. "Would this do?"

Robin shrugged.

"It doesn't say if the medium has to be magickal in nature or not," she said, "I only asked if you had any chalk because I know its easy to clean up.

"As for the color....I've always done things like this in white," she shrugs again, "but that's just my personal preference."

"Since this is your field, would you like to try the spell?" Costh asked

"Hmmmm..."

Galvenor rubbed his chin in thought.

"Why do you think you could be an instructor here? After running your own school, are you sure you can participate at the instructor level without any conflicts with the other instructors?"

"Hmmmm..."

Galvenor rubbed his chin in thought.

"Why would I have any conflicts with other instructors. From what I know I would be the only person teaching this subject in the first place. There would be no one to have issue with."

Eldrad nodded,"That's the basic element. Your progress is what is expected of you. Come, we must leave now."

He seemed to stand still a moment, and suddenly Loki would find himself back in control of his body. There was a thin veneer of crystal on his arm, and the oddest sensation of coldness would pass over him.

Eldrad brushed the crystals off, and then moved his hand gently. A swirling blue mist settled around the area he'd covered, and when it dissapated, two glasses of a steaming liquid sat there. He picked one up, sipped at it, and smiled. He picked the other one up in his gloved hand, holding it out to his dwarf companion,"Drink this, my young friend. It will help relieve the cold that I have no doubt you're feeling."

Loki nodded in response as Eldrad informed them that it was time to leave - just when Loki was getting used to the place.

A moment later, Loki was suddenly back in control of body, but an odd chill came over him. It most likely would have been worse if Loki hadn't lived in the snowy and frigid mountains most of his life, but this was different - it felt strange and new. He tried to make himself smaller as to contain his body heat; then he noticed the icicles on his arm.

Brushing them off with his white gloves, Loki looked up to Eldrad to see what to do next; Most likely rest, Loki thought. When he turned his head from his arm towards Eldrad he noticed his instructor was holding out a steaming glass for him. "Th-thanks..." Loki managed to say as he took the liquid and drunk quickly, instantly making him feel warm on the inside.

Teji had gotten a feeling that he was being ignored yet again. He then removed himself from the cafateria and went out to the court yard. As luck would have it it was the same yard that Eldrad and Loki were training at. They had just come out of stasis as Teji entered the courtyard. He walked up to them noticing the ice particles still clinging to them and the warm liquid that Eldrad had provided. "Hello Eldrad and hello small one. I think I have seen you before in the library. Sorry we did not get the plesure of making each others aquantince. My name is Teji and what would yours be. also why are you two covered in ice."

"Yeah, you probably did see me in the library. Loki," he said, looking up at the large figure of Teji. "He was just eaching me about... was it spirit magick? I think so. We went to the... oh what's it called... the, uhh... plane of shadows or something."

"Since this is your field, would you like to try the spell?" Costh asked

OOC: I really need to cut back on the number of RP's I'm in. Too many to keep track of. Well, just have to finish the ones from this batch.

IC: Robin gave him a lopsided smile and said, "Sure. You name the target. That way, it won't be a place I know, so I won't run the risk of just picturing it from memory instead of the using the circle," she looks around, "perhaps we should go somewhere else to try it. I don't think chalk will work on the carpet."

"Alright." He replied as he gestured to cast a localized 'port. They appeared in an empty class room. "How about Trigen'li?" He suggested

"Nice to meet you Loki. Spirit magick you say well that is what I am intending to study. apperently my race prior to it lossing all ability to preform magick was very heavily involved with spirit energy. Eldrad had been training me as well prior to an inciedent which made him rather busy. I then left to try and find another instructer but failed. They all seemed to act like i was not there any reason why that might be Eldrad and could you continue training me?"

"Alright." He replied as he gestured to cast a localized 'port. They appeared in an empty class room. "How about Trigen'li?" He suggested

Robin glanced at the page in the book after they were both in the empty classroom.

"According to this," she said, "you're going to be more specific about the location," she reads some more, "with practice, one using this circle," she starts drawing the circle to the correct size and proportions as indicated by the book, "would be able to find their lost car keys, even if they were under a chair just by giving 'car keys, this building' as the location. Now, if this," she pauses as she brushes a stray hair from in front of her eyes, "Trigen'li is a city, I'll only get a birds eye view of the place. If its a planet, well, you get the idea."

OOC: Witch Hunter Robin style magick circles are similar in design to Full Metal Alchemist style alchemic arrays, only they have different purposes.

And with that, last post for the night.

He searches his desk for a second before locating a sheep of paper and writes something. He hands it to Urza. It is blank to Urza’s vision.

"Take this to the other Instructors and have them write their opinion of your abilities upon it. You can then return it to me here. When you return I will either be in the Library or in my office."

Galvenor picked up the forms he had origionally came back to his office to retrieve and left. He would be back in plenty of time.

He walked through the library, making sure the Imps he had placed there were properly assisting the students in locating and returning the books.

Robin nodded and continued to work on drawing the array needed.

She asked, "Any specific thing I should look for so you can judge if it works or not?"

OOC: I'm going to be using the word 'array' from now on as it seems to just sound better than circle (even though it may be circular in shape).

"I don't want to prejudice your attempts thought." Costh replied, "Thought if you see something like this," He sketches a design, with the tip of a finger, in the air, "You'll know you're looking in the right general area."

Robin nods in understanding as she finishes the array. She places the bit of chalk on the table next to the book before stepping inside its boundaries. For this first attempt, she sits down so the distance the magickal energy she would send flowing to activate the magick she had laid down with the chalk to the array would be minimal. She closed her eyes and began concentrating.

OOC: Theao, I leave it up to you how successful each try is.

As Robin sent the magick flowwing into the circle for the first time, she would receive back a blurred impression of rich vibrant greens, cool tan, and deep midnight blue.

Robin memorizes what she 'sees' to the best of her ability. She opens her eyes and describes the colors and what shapes they were in.

"Sounds like the right general area. Why not try focusing on one of the things you saw, and go from there?" He suggested

Resven had felt Eldrad's return to the Tower, and went down to seek him.

He approached at a 90 degree angle to Teji, and made a slight bow to the Eldar mage.

"She's had some bad back-lash from the killing of a necromancer and demon-banishment yesterday."

Resven looked at Loki and Teji.

"I would prefer to show you, instead of describe it in front of your students."

Eldrad nodded, and then spoke to Teji and Loki,"I must attend to this. Then, I will return."

Resven took him to Quilae's courtyard, and sealed the entrance behind them, before leading Eldrad up.

"I don't know exactly what happened, but I think this is the result of a slightly mis-cast banishment...she still got the result she wanted, but that was due mostly to will...I don't know what she did, so I don't know exactly what's wrong with her, only that it will likely tear out a chunk of her soul if she's left to battle it out on her own."

Eldrad's pace quickened slightly,"This sounds bad."

"It is."

Resven opened the door, and let Eldrad preceed him through.

Eldrad walked through the door, his mind whirling. He'd heard, and seen, things like this happen before... but never to a Drow.

"She's trained in healing of physical wounds and in some physchological counselling...not in contra-darkness.."

"So, allow me to get this straight. You want me to save her?"

"If you can, and are willing to."

"Willing, certainely. However, I've only dealt in cases with similar symptons. The actual ailment could possibly beyond my knowledge."

"If you cannot, I will travel to Mithdelmar and seek out someone with more knowledge in this sort of ailment."

"I will do what I can for her."

Resven nodded, stepping back to give the necrovoyant his space, but to still be on hand if he were needed.

Eldrad approached the younger Drow, walking round her,"Hmm... interesting."

He looked at Resvan, as if to provide an explanation,"Normally, I would link my soul to that of the afflicted person, in order to provide a stable platform before I began. However, that was with Eldar... there are few of us left now."

He knelt, and looked carefully,"I can already see what is wrong with her. It is immediately obvious just by her aura that her soul is at risk... she is literally tearing herself apart, or so it would appear from my perspective. Drow physiology is slightly different to that of my own race, which makes it more difficult to ascertain if I can help or hinder."

He stood, and asked a question,"Tell me, exactly what happened to her after the events with the necromancer."

"I don't know...there was a human with her for a brief amount of time afterwards, and then her patient...Chainer, I think...came to her, but other than that, I have no knowledge of what happened until she sent for me, several hours later."

"hmm... If I have to track Chainer down, it will increase the chances that she will succumb to this before I can return. I need any information you have."

"The only spell she would have known to use is the Niar'haaninen...powerful, but it forces your tupora fashka to that of the demon. Mis-cast..."

The young mage put a hand to his forehead. "What does that one do...that would lead to that..."

The poor child hadn't been trained in that sort of magick, either.

"I think that the Niar'haaninen would casue a loss of motion capablility...and if done any more wrongly, maybe use her soul as a seal on the demon. Not necessary, I don't think...but...I don't know what would happen. She'd either never wake, or it would kill her."

"Her soul as the seal... interesting. Not unheard of... an unintentional side-effect of using a spell too advanced for her. In that matter, I may be able to help."

He nodded.

Eldrad placed his hand on her forehead, muttering under his breath in a language older than any at the Tower, one that only he knew. His eyes were closed, and certain runes on his armour glowed softly, the light they cast shimmering around the room, reflecting off the wall.

After a moment, he opened his eyes,"It is deeper set than I thought... this will take a little time. I can help her for now... but it will require a mage trained in this from the Grey class."

"Should I go send for a replacement for her so that I can take her back to Mithdelmar tomorrow?"

"No. Just send for one who is trained to treat this."

Resven nodded. "It will likely be a day or so before one can arrive."

"Then hurry it along. She does not have long, as I percieve it. Cut through the red tape... do whatever is necessery. If anyone complains, direct them to me, and I will deal with them."

"I'll try."

He left to go to attempt the impossible...a Third Circle or better coming just to help a foolish Fifth-Circle who should have known better than to do anything.

Fortunately, his mother was a Third Circle, although not in contra-dark.

It took six hours of work, but the still young Seventh Order mage brought in one that Eldrad had wanted.

Eldrad looked up,"Well done. May I ask your name?"

Robin nodded and, closing her eyes, began the flow of the magickal energy again.

OOC: I'm just going to go ahead and let you know that you get to say how successful each attempt is, or did I already say that? Kind of hard to remember when one is still half-asleep, lol.

The Third Order waved Resven out of the room, now that he wasn't needed.

"Thrandaal."

Resven slid out of the room, closing the door and going down into, then out of, the courtyard.

"Well, Thrandaal, I need you to help me. Both of us must work in concert to save this one."

"Quilae...always a little head strong..."

He sighed, going to the bedside. "Very well."

"Now, tell me, what would you do, given normal circumstances?"

He narrowed his eyes, looking at and through her.

"Try pulling her soul away from the demon and back into her body...it's messy, but she'd still have a whole soul."

"In this case, they are one. I will seperate the two, whilst you must place her soul back within her body. It is going to be delicate at that stage... concentration is key."

"A fusion of souls, between demon and mage? The Niar'haaninen can't do that."

"Stranger things have happened in the past, have they not? Besides, we are not dealing with a run of the mill casting."

"No...we're dealing with a fool. Come, then. It seems this one has significance around here, so let's see if we cannot restore her."

Eldrad could help but sigh inwardly. His age and wisdom were sometimes overlooked by those who trained for some time in a profession. Still, he had the expierence,"Yes, lets. Let me clarify, I will get her soul, whilst you must reinsert it."

"I understood you the first time."

He refrained from commenting, and instead focused his energy. He could see the demon... it wasn't difficult to find, but seperating the two... that was to be more difficult of the tasks.

He cast a spell to weaken the demon as it stood, watching as it's form shimmered slightly. Although the look didn't change, he noticed the fear in the creatures eye. It was a battle of wills as to who controlled the tiny speck of light that was the young mages soul.

After a battle that was evident by the strain on his forehead and the sweat dripping from him, his eyes flew open, wild and staring. In front of them, the soul had reappeared, clutched in his invisible grasp,"I cannot hold it for long... and the demon is only incapcitated, not destroyed. Be quick!"

With a practiced deftness, the Third Order gathered Quilae's soul away from where it had been, pulling it into his hands before sliding it back into her body.

It would have been a rough transition, and he'd likely be needed to stay after and help repair some of the damage.

Eldrad relaxed,"She was lucky. Very lucky."

"Luck tends to favor children and fools. This one should have kept an eye on it until someone trained in the art of demon-banishing arrived."

"In any case, she is safe now. The demon cannot attack her soul whilst it is safely encased in her body, and she doesn't expose it."

Robin nodded and, closing her eyes, began the flow of the magickal energy again.

Eldrad moved his hand gently, and the demon appeared, caged within an object of Eldrad's creation. It was snarling, and beast-like, like so many demons,"I can crush it right now if I want to. Though, I suspect you wish for that pleasure."

"Not at all."

"I find that odd. Nevertheless."

The demon dissapeared, and Eldrad squeezed his hand shut,"It is gone."

The Third Order turned back to the young Fifth-Order, who was still unconcious.

"This one still needs some care."

"I will leave that in your capable hands."

He nodded, turning to his work.

With a gesturen and a glow of light from his left hand's palm, which if Robin looked closely she would notice it appeared to be covered in tattoos, two orbs of water appeared at about head level, with a stream of water looping out and back.

Robin raised an eyebrow at the display of hydrokinesis magick.

"Interesting," she said, "a floating water fountain. Of course, as my Craft Element is Fire, I wouldn't be able to do that without an array."

She pulls a small, metal ball from her backet. With a quick wash of flame, she alters it into a cup. She dips the cup into the water, with a slight hiss and a few wisps of steam, to fill it.

"Ah." Costh replied, "I use to be a runic mage, so we practice similar arts. I still keep up with it, but I've 'moved on' so to speak."

Robin replied, "Interesting," she took a sip of her water, "as for the scrying thing," she shrugged, "you would have to talk to my friend Miho about that. Her main Craft is scrying by touch."

"You seemed to have a pretty good grasp on it." He replied as he took a sip of his water orb.

Robin shrugged again before responding.

"Actually," she admitted, "this is the first time I've tried an array like this. Usually I'm helping Miho and the rest of the team track down and capture Seeds that have broken the law and each of us have our own specialty. So, I don't really have much time to try new methods of doing things."

"Seeds?" He asked, "And what I meant was you did pretty well for your first attempt with this spell."

"Its the common term used to describe Alterans with magickal or psychic gifts," Robin replies, "its a general term used whether(sp?) one is male or female."

"So I take it you are, or were part of a magickal and psionic police force?" He asked, "What is done to the Seeds?"

Robing shrugged and said, "I guess you could call us that. Though police are operated by planetary govenrments, and the people I worked with are under the authority of the national government.

"As for what happens to criminal seeds that are captured, depending on their power, ability, and other factors, they are either put into stasis pods, re-educated, or stuck in a special facility where they can't get into trouble."

"Ah." Costh replied, "Do you want to continue, or take a longer break until later on?"

Eldrad nodded, and then spoke to Teji and Loki,"I must attend to this. Then, I will return."

Loki nodded in response as he watched Eldrad disappear. He was a little exhausted from the learning thus far and could do with a good rest.

Piekrom']After Eldrad had said bye and left the two of them Teji turned to Loki and said, "So Eldrad has been training you in spirit energy has he. Well what have you learned so far about it."

"Oh not much," Loki responded as he began walking to a nearby fountain. "We just began a short while ago... I learned how to conjure a golem by summoning spirit magick, but that is pretty much it." He sat down on the edge of the fountain and began playing with the water in his right gloved hand.

Teji walked after Loki in a rather halting type of motion. (OOC: remember i am about 11 feet tall so big stride have to stop ater every step compared to your guy). He was intriged by what Loki said and responded, "Realy you made a golem and filled it with spirit energy? Aren't golems made of stone though? stone after all does not have life and never had life, or did you use say an organic stone like coal or limestone?"

"I don't really know," Loki admitted. "I forged him out of my mind."

Loki continued to play with the water as it danced around his hand and such.

((OOC: And don't forget my guy is just above 3 feet, so his steps are tiny.))

Teji sat down on the ground next to loki. he then responded, "Well where were you training? that would give an idea of what type of rock you used. The way i see it is that the magick one adds to something especialy life magick or spirit which ever you want to call it there has to be a residue of that type on the item you what to atach the magick to. that is just from what i observed when trying to fill a piece of granit with life.'

"Umm... I forgot if he called it a specific name. I think it was the Spirit World or something like that," Loki replied. "It certainly wasn't here. I felt this wierd sensation when we began and then I sort of... left my body..."

"Very interesting indeed I do not know of this place perhapse though by simply being the land of the spirits perhapse that caused the stones there to be endowed differently."

"Dunno... you will have to ask Eldrad about that," Loki commented as the water in his hand evaporated into a light mist. It was quite refreshing as it rose into the sky and brushed against his face.

Galvenor was wondering what was taking Urza so long.

"Ah." Costh replied, "Do you want to continue, or take a longer break until later on?"

"Sleep magic is not a substitute for normal sleep. Enchanted sleep will not give your body the rest it needs."

He continued out the door.

IC: Eldrad, his work done with the young Drow medic, had retired for a while. The activities of the past few days had taken their toll on the old Eldar Farseer. Some claimed he was but a few centuries old. He knew better. His life stretched far beyond that... he had seen and done things few could imagine. In his deep, restful sleep, his mind flitted back through the ages, reflecting on past events. One event in particular kept coming back to him, in a recurring dream-like state. It was the time he had warned the Emperor of Terra what was coming, and he had been ignored.

Despite his great knowledge and wisdom that led so many to approach him for guidance, Eldrad knew in his heart that some would always choose to ignore him. They had to be allowed to make their own mistakes.

When he awoke, he returned to his lonely sojourn around the Tower, keeping an eye on the goings on between the younger, the older, the ancient.

Loki nodded his response before stretching out the little of them their was and lying on the stone rim of the fountain. It was an ideal for a nice nap with a cool breeze, the refreshing mist of the fountain, and nice warm sun shining down upon him. In only a few minutes he had fallen into a pleasant slumber.

Galvenor walked through the darkened halls. In a few hours they would be busy with the noise and activity of students hurrying to class, now they only contained solitude.

Gvenor felt the presence of another being walking the same halls in solitude. He recognized Eldrad, the only other being that even came close to Galvenor's age or power.

He allowed his presence to be noticed and approached Eldrad. They both stared out the window for a few seconds at the school below. A few lights were already on in the dorms, either from early risers or from students who fell asleep while studying.

"Something seems off. I can't put a finger on it but my thoughts seem chaotic lately and I am feeling restless. Something is happening but it is too far in the background clutter for me to figure out what it is. Have you noticed anything old friend?"

Teji sat there by the fountain were Loki decided to take a nap. As night began to descend he began to study the stars that began to form. He then began to doze. Then a dream vision came to him. He opened his eyes and looked up seeing an enormous tree the size of a galaxy. It looked like many normal trees except that it was enormous in size. He looked out around him and saw the vastness of space. and looked down seeing that he was standing on a root. it seemed to dig into the very depths of the universe. He turned around and stared directly at the tree. Out of the tree a spirit formed and approached him. it spoke to him and said, "I am the spirit of Yuggdrasil the tree of life and from me flows all the energy of the universe. You are one of the nine chosen one who have been called. I am beginning to die and your powers will be called upon to help revive me. In three weeks time you and the other 8 should stand before the main gate of the white tower I will meet you all there at midnight when the moon is new and explain your tasks." the spirit began to fade away. as it sunk back into the tree it pointed out into the depths of space to a planet which was but one of nine positioned around the tree from which the tree was rooted and said, "That is your place remember it." With that he faded as well as the rest of the dream. The other 8 members will have had a similar vision each with a brief glimpse of the planet that they will work from. When he woke up he was staring up at the stars only a few hours had passed since he dozed off. He began to carefully contemplate what he had seen.

"There is a disturbance that I have felt, yes. What it is, I am not certain... I too am suffering from bouts of inability to focus properly. They have become more prevelant as time wears on. It is disconcerting."

Galvenor leaned heavily upon the balcony railing, no mean feat for someone who has not existed physically for quite some time. He looked around at the stars circling above, remembering when they were in different patterns.

“It’s amazing how much things change, they still remain as they were with only the illusion of change fooling these short lived races. They view those stars as static things that will never change in their lifetimes other than an occasional nova or comet.”

“Yet you and I can remember those same stars that give them unchanging comfort in several different configurations. The old things never change.”

Galvenor looked over at Eldrad.

“I think the old times are returning. I believe I can feel the Chaos stirring in the back of my mind. My thoughts seem scattered at times and the urge for the Hunt seems to be returning.”

“If this is true, then it bodes ill for the younger races. The Forces of Entropy will run over them worse than any collective nightmare they have ever experienced in their history. Their very bodies will become instruments of war for the Lords of Entropy.”

He returned his gaze to the lights below.

“We are all there is to protect those in our charge. We must do everything possible to keep them safe from the worse of the scourge that will soon follow if these premonitions are true.”

He again looked towards Eldrad. His eyes were completely black, caverns of darkness showing he was using his true power.

“We need to find a way to counter this and to keep the Balance.”

Loki woke up many hours later feeling refreshed and relaxed thanks to a well deserved night's sleep. Another day would hopefully bring more revelations and teachings for the young mage.

He paused, before continuing,"And finding what it is, as opposed to conjection and questions, is the first objective. Then, and only then, can we prevent it, and restore balance."

Giggling at hearing his stomach grumble slightly, Loki decided that he needed a good breakfast as he could not remember the last time he ate. He left the pleasantness of the courtyard and returned to the inside of the White Tower where he slowly began to make his way to the cafeteria.

A lone figure slipped quietly into the outer walls of the establishment. He looked to any that saw him to be a massive, striped cat. He stopped at a fountain, lapping the cool water up with his tongue, and straightened up after having had his fill. He was a solidly built specimen, seven foot nine from ear tip to hind paw, 8'4" from nose to tail tip.

He looked around. Maybe he could find a teacher...he had a magic that the Kaymirilians had not been able to identify or help him to use, so he was looking for someone else...someone that might be able to help him.

He could see them...all of them...and they weren't there. Those that had died...those he had WATCHED die...but they had not gone on. None of them ever had.

And he could speak to them. And, most chillingly of all...he could hear them speak. He wanted, so desperately, to make it stop, or make it so he could control it.

If he couldn't, he would certainly go insane.

Lucifer was meditating when he felt himself being watched. Looking up he saw what appeared to be a giant cat. With a wave he gestured for the entity to join him.

The creature's tail twitched.

Was this a challenge? No...the posture was relaxed.

An...invitation? Perhaps.

But at what distance? And what was this creature?

He approached with the fluid grace one would expect of a felinoid, taking a Sentinel's Posture seat facing him from about a meter away. He said nothing, though.

He didn't make a sound.

They didn't like sounds.

Lucifer left his gauntleted and six fingured hand on the ground as the feline took a seat across from him. He took the entity in with his eye, the other remaining concealed by the bejewelled eyepatch. "Welcome, did you come seeking an instructor in magick?" He asked urbanely.

His ear flicked.

Language...Common.

Common was not his best language....he understood a little bit. He spoke Drow better...he would hate to have to get a Drow translator, when everyone here was a mage with things to do.

He understood "come" "Seek" "you" and he vaguely recalled that "instructor" was "teacher."

Voice lifts at end of sentence, forming a question.

"Yes."

The word sounded more like a deep cough, only barely discernable as speech, if at all.

Lucifer nodded, thought his thoughts were working double time, before deciding a few different langauges as it seemed that the common tongue was not this one's forte. He began with the 'upper' languages, Avariel and High Elven, asking "Can you understand me?"

The answer was obviously "no."

The creature "stood" on his four legs, stiff, tail straight out. Reflexively, his claws snapped out, and his two upper fangs were bared, in preparation for a spell that might do him harm.

They say that some of them can smell like they mean good-will while they kill you with their words...

He stood, as it seemed that he'd offended the feline and wanted a method to defend himself if necessary. As Avariel and High Elven garnered an agressive reaction, he decided to try the 'lower' langauages, those of Dark Dwarf and Drow.

I understand Drow, he said, still in that deep, harsh voice.

He had not relaxed in the slightest, and his eyes avoided this man's.

Lucifer's grasp of Drow was fairly limited, on the order of perhaps a first year university level, and thus he struggled to find the words he wished, and failing that went as simple as he could, "No spell, other person talk."

OOC: Loki will probably take midgard which is the normal plane where other planes come together. that is the best i can figuer for him. If you want that is. Now would also be the perfect time to mention if you got a simmular dream. Each one of us will be gathering a talisman of sorts each linked to a state of the panets held up by yggdrasile. Hopfully now you understand why i can not have say two fire mages because then the will both be linked to the same talisman.

SE if you decide to bring in Eldrad you would get asgards power and Galvanor your main would get Hel. I have yet to form the talismans. I will adjust based on who decides to join.

"Urza came to me yesterday inquiring about becomming an instructor. I gave him a document to take to the other instructors. I haven't heard from him yet. The situation below demonstrates he needs to get along better with the students."

"There is a lot of talent under these roofs. I hope they survive long enough to get the experience they need to become truely great. Even Urza there who thinks himself powerful needs toe wisdom of experience to realize making himself a body of artifacts will not help him in an Anti-Magic area. Well, if we are..."

Suddenly Galvenor felt a flash of energy flooding his mind. It threatened to smother his very existance before it began to fade. His image began to flicker, showing the immense energy he was putting into defence. Across the White Tower, the sleepers stirred in their sleep, dreaming the same nightmare of drowning. Those who were awake felt as if something were stalking them, about to pounce from behind. After a moment the feeling passed but it was burned into their memories, although they would never be able to tell where it came from.

Eldrad was the sole exception. He could almost feel what Galvenor was experiencing. The image flickered a couple more times and then steadied. Galvenor was shaken and it showed in the image.

"What the hell was that?"

Urza knew he was being watched, but it didn't really matter. He wanted to find out exactly what was going on here. Blood would be rather inconvenient, and had a tendency to make inconvenient stains...

"Talent for magick does not mean they will be great. One must be able to harness their talent before they can use it. Urza as an instructor... he has not yet been to see me about it. I suppose we can only wait."

As Galvernor seemed to flicker in front of him, he watched in stupefied amazement, for once completley unsure as to what was occuring in front of him. The sensation that washed over him was an odd one, not something he could ever recall having felt in his long life. He shook himself when it was all gone, and was silent for a moment before he answered the question posed.

"I don't know... it's like nothing I've ever felt before."

2.) There are limits placed on magick just like any tech to avoid god-modding.

Unholy, or necromantic, magick, is not tolerated within the walls of the White Tower. As SeaQuest said, there are limits to prevent god-modding. I would say that the rosaries would provide some limited protection, against some basic and perhaps the weaker mid-level spells, but would be useless against the more powerful. That way, it maintains a balance.

OOC: This is true, but he assumes he will be, and even if he DOESN'T get the position, he's such a useful person that there are many worse choices to go to when you need help. The fact that he has several hundred millenia of experience makes him even more valuable.

Teji walked into the courtyard right behind Loki. He turned to Loki and asked quietly, as far as a troll was capable of quietness, "do you have any idea who these people are or what is going on?"

Loki shook his head without turning back or up towards the hulking figure of Teji. "I don't have the faintest idea... an odd gathering," he replied as he surveyed the scene.

OOC: Now to bring in the character for Piekrom's RP later.

IC: Outside the tower, even though their wasn't a storm cloud in the sky, there was a flash of lightning and a slight thunder-like boom (heavily muffled by choice) as a bolt of energy hit the ground near the fountain.

When people decided to stick their heads out and checked the spot, they would see no electrical damage or burns, but a white robed figure standing exactly where the bolt had struck.

OOC: Just a matter of fact, that's just Raiden's normal means of getting around (besides on foot or vehicle). It was only so noticable because of the sheer raw energy a Elemental Avatar posesses (they are known as the personification of their Element).

Again, Elif's ears flicked.

"If I should need some, perhaps."

He was instantly on his feet again at the discharge of electricity...at the power...again, tense.

Again, waiting for something to appear so he could react appropriately, instead of just reflexively and tensely.

Raiden felt a little discomfort in his jaw, so he yawned causually to crack it. He then wiggled it around a bit to make sure he had gotten all the kinks out.

When he was down, he began looking around through eyes that currently betrayed no iota of his current emotional state. His normally stoic expression was firmly in place.

Marill ignored the lightning bolt. She was used to sudden weather changes.

"Someone with a lot of energy's here. No matter, the tower guardians will surely take care of it." she said.

"Pointlessly flashy... Such a waste." Urza simply ignored the arrival. Whoever he was, he obviously had no idea of real power. Power was using the least amount of energy to the greatest effect, and what was most flashy was often least useful. He could simply disappear and reappear in another place with no real effort, wasting energy on special effects was the sign of a novice.

I have a soulstone here. It is one of the better ones... I will take you. Transfer yourself into the stone around my neck, then you will be safe and secure. The transfer requires no power at all... it is very simple to conduct.

"Thank you my old friend. I am going into a meditative trance to determine what has happened. The door will only allow you or one of the instructors to enter.”

“You are in charge of the school because I cannot perform my duties in this state. If you have any questions or need something, please come to visit me. Also, please have any instructors volunteer to keep a vigil in case something goes wrong of if this state becomes worse.”

Galvenor erected the protection spells imbued within the circle. Nothing short of a godling could get in now.

Eldrad nodded as his friend sank into the trance, and then left the room to stand vigil outside. It wouldn't do for one of the students to try and enter, and suffer as a result.

OOC: Cat-like. Dogs don't twitch the tips of their tails, duh. And a scent is much more complicated than that. Theoretically, my sister and I should smell very similar to our cat, but he doesn't care for my sister and won't leave me alone, although we treat him similarly. A scent is the culmination of what you've done, where you've been, who you've fought with, who you've befriended, your personality, your social status, what you've recently eaten, your current health, your intents, and I could go on, but then it would be the hugest post this thread has ever seen in its entire life. The way scent is interpreted differs, as well. A dog can smell a pile of rotting fish and love it enough to roll in it, while a human smells the exact same thing and retches. So, old man and ozone is what a human might smell. What a Roharanhan smells is completely different. Granted, I'm going off of what I've seen so far, and what Kaymiril has seen in another thread, but likewise I can assume you wouldn't send a novice to run in whatever rat-race Pikeron's got about to start.
