Miriana decided to proceed from the 'doorway' to the actual courtyard, and work on a few of the concepts and skills she was having the greatest challenge with.
She began with the air section of her demonic magicks.

"It's got to be hard on you all as well... he's a part of the community"
"We know that. Trust me...we know that."

"In any event, I can leave Shan to baby-sit, and show you around, or you can explore on your own."
Snake Eaters

"Either is good... a bit of companionship would be nice"
Kaymiril
08-10-2005, 20:23
"All right."

She stands up, dusting herself off.

"Shan, you've got him for now."

She then turns back to Raven. "Okay. So, where to start? This place is actually bigger than you think."
Snake Eaters

OOC: I Know that, just I keep forgetting, sorry all

IC: Artemis leaned back away from the considerable heat welling up in front of him.

"What are we doing here?" As he asked that, his scimitar began to softly vibrate.

OOC: not meaning to be rude, but no replying forthcoming??

Also no offense to you but piekrom, don't immediately come in with an all powerful person that is absolutely amazing

She takes him in, walking him through the residential halls, the library, the rooms that she didn't know what the heck they were for, some of the rooms for more obscure magicks, the Spatial/Temporal rooms that she refused to set foot into, the cafe, the training halls, the lecture halls...it was huge.

"Sounds like a place that can do anything and everything"

"Pretty much. It was built by a race of Elves, a long time ago."

08-10-2005, 20:38
"Ah I see, and this is one of nature's most destructive forces, apart from maybe tornadoes and tsunamis. Is there some way to prevent these disasters from occuring using geomancy?"
Snake Eaters

"I gathered as much, from my research"

"Ah I see, and this is one of nature's most destructive forces, apart from maybe tornadoes and tsunamis. Is there some way to prevent these disasters from occuring using geomancy?"
"Yes. But for the level you wish to get to, you will not be able to. Aside from that, there is always a reason that a volcano will erupt, a tsunami will occur, or a tornado will form. To do anything against them without just cause is asking for dire consequences."

******************************************************************
"I gathered as much, from my research"
"Yeah...they left recently. I think Snake Eaters took charge of it."
Snake Eaters
08-10-2005, 20:47
Raven looked at her quizically,"I'm slightly confused as to what you mean. I think you are getting Hoth and Hoeth mixed up. Snake Eaters has control over part of the Hoth system, in accordance with the Galactic Empire treaty. Hoeth is one of these systems designated a free zone"
Kaymiril
08-10-2005, 20:49
"The directory at the International Trade Hub has Hoeth as a Snake Eater system."
Fattie slug
08-10-2005, 20:49
"Ah, I see. It is better to let the things happen than keep preveneting them, for this would build up the pressure until it all came out at once in an unstoppable burst?"
Snake Eaters
08-10-2005, 20:50
"Snake Eaters decided that Hoeth should be a system in the ITH, and thus entered it. It's still a free system."

OOC: HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU, QUOTE BUTTON!!!!!!

IC:
"Something like that. Aside from that, it could damage the mage."

"Snake Eaters decided that Hoeth should be a system in the ITH, and thus entered it. It's still a free system."
"Odd."
Snake Eaters
08-10-2005, 20:55
"The Balroggan's weren't going to, and at the time, you couldn't enter one for it. So, Snake Eaters applied for one, on the basis that it would defend the system if need be, but wouldn't enforce their laws upon it. A free zone."
Kaymiril
08-10-2005, 20:56
"All right, now it makes sense."

Miriana could see a drow teaching another person she didn't recognise, not surprising, because of the short time she'd been at the Tower, and decided to wander over.

Her blood-red hair had grown down to her waist, and she tied it off as she walked over.

Raven smiled,"Thought it might in the end"
"So, now that's cleared up. Shan's taken Monian home, so you want to get something to eat?"

~snip~
"You'll see when it erupts."

OOC: Theao, who are you talking about?

"Oh dear......that might sting a bit."

His scimitar had begun to shake in it's scabbard. Artemis clasped it's handle, causing the shivers to spread through his arm. He wrenched it free to see it glowing with a green light.

"What's going on???"

She took him back to the cafe and grabbed a plate, levitating another toward him.

OOC: Theao, the geomancer took Artemis to a v. distant place.

She then decided to find someone to talk to.

"What is this stuff, by the way?"
Kaymiril
08-10-2005, 21:40

"It isn't Drow, so I have no clue whatsoever."

Artemis re-sheathed the blade, and it began jolting in and out of the scabbard.
"Can you not control your blade?"

The volcano began to erupt, and the Geomancer teleported them to a nearby mountain.

"Yeah. It's not bad. Just different."
Fattie slug
08-10-2005, 21:43
"No, it has never done that before, I think it may be a warning of when to leave that area, because it seemed to intensify as the volcanoe grew nearer to erupting."
Kaymiril
08-10-2005, 21:44
"So, you don't have a natural sense of these things, but your sword does?"
Snake Eaters
08-10-2005, 21:46
"Yeah. It's not bad. Just different."

"Yeah... that's what I thought."
Kaymiril
08-10-2005, 21:48
"Anyway, I need to get back soon. Give me a call when you're going back to Snake Eaters, I'll go when you do."

Miriana spotted a few drow, that appeared to be un-busy, and approached them with the intention of seeing about getting additional aid in a few aspects of her magick talent.
Kaymiril
09-10-2005, 03:44
Not busy is a relative term for most Drow at the tower.

She did, however, eventually find an older male Drow, as his students were leaving him. He watched them, for a while, seeming to reflect, then took out a sketch pad.

"Good evening, young lady."
Theao
09-10-2005, 03:50
"Greetings, I wish to further my skills in my magicks, especially my weakest area of the elemental magicks." Miriana replied, "Would you consent to teach me?"
Kaymiril
09-10-2005, 03:52
"I'm afraid I'm of little use to you there. I'm a Rune Mage."
Theao
09-10-2005, 03:54
"Would you be able to direct me to one who could aid me then please." She asked
Kaymiril
09-10-2005, 03:55
"There are many...but tell me, what type of magick do you normally practice?"
Theao
09-10-2005, 03:57
"My basics are in what would be termed demonic magicks, thought the magicks my teacher drew upon came from a somewhat different source than my own do." She replied
Kaymiril
09-10-2005, 03:59
"Infernal magicks. Young lady, you're going to have trouble getting anyone to help you with your elemental magicks. Infernal magick is forbidden in Kaymiril, and we tend to stay far clear of Infernal Mages."
Theao
09-10-2005, 04:00
"I do not believe it is infernal magicks, or at least not as I understand them." Miriana replied, "Infernal magick is drawn from hell, or the nether planes correct?"
Kaymiril
09-10-2005, 04:03
"Dalhar, you classify your magicks as Demonic. Demonic and Infernal are the same thing, because demons are Infernal creatures."

"OK, I am prepared to do that."
"Tell me...what do you see?"

OOC: I'm off for the night.
Theao
09-10-2005, 04:06

Piekrom']OOC: Ok here is my new character.

IC: A black cloaked figure walks into the tower. His face is shrouded in the hood of his cloak. He caries a staff in one hand which he caries more so in the way of a weapon rather than as a support device. Those who are trained to see the lines of magik would see that there is a light trigger network that completely envelopes this person. The power behind this network would instantly react to the type of attack with the appropriate counter of intense heat freezing Ice or spirit deflection. Very little power seems to be used by the Mage to keep up the trigger shield. He walks into the courtyard an air of confidence around him. He caries a simple long sword on his back hidden by his robes. As he walks in he notices the one called Piekrom and sees something familiar about him. He sends out a few small threads of spirit to detect what about this person was familiar. He finds it similar to that of one of his order who had disappeared when a spell went wrong several years ago. Could this be the son of that Mage? He pulls down his hood to reveal a very elven face. His ears are very pointed. He is not drow though but rather he is one of the forest sun elves.

Galvenor felt the stranger enter the castle. He could feel the wards the stranger had erected and he was alarmed. He caused Reality to tear asunder and willed himself to use the rip to travel to the courtyard.

Galvenor materialized in front of the stranger and looked him up and down. When he spoke, his words echoed within the stranger’s mind.

“Who the hell do you think you are bearing constructs like that inside a school where our students could get hurt? That shows complete lack of respect for your hosts and it also shows you don’t trust us. If I showed up in your home dressed for war, would you be offended?"

Galvenor waited a moment for the stranger to answer but cut him off before he could.

“Well, speak up. I haven’t all day. I have important things to do other than to dress down those who think of themselves as all powerful and mysterious. Speaking of dress, could you clothe yourself more stereotypically? You look like a character out of a bad B movie.”

Galvenor stopped speaking for a moment, just long enough for the stranger to think he could talk but alas, Galvenor again cut him off.

“Well, speak up. I had to leave class to deal with your intrusion. You owe me at least that respect because you are disturbing my student’s education with your flashy entrance and hazardous show of power. Speak up already and get it over with. Don’t you think we have other things to do?”

Galvenor finally allowed him to speak.

OOC:

You asked for it. You endangered the school with your wardings and Galvenor is not happy. He came to investigate it himself to see who could be so foolish as to enter a school like that.
[NS]Piekrom
09-10-2005, 23:37
OOC: You misunderstood and misread. The ward is simply spirit it calls up the different forces at will depending on the attack. Keyword trigger.

IC: After listening to the tirade of complaints and ill planted concerns Tevric replied. "Oh this simple shield must have forgotten it. I run it almost subconsciously as I have been using it for the past 1000 years. I have been traveling through several dimensions for the past 20 years looking for one of our order who disappeared in an accident while he was exploring inter-dimensional travel. We have used his study and all the work he did and perfected the inter-dimensional travel so that our magik would continue to work. As you would probably guess one would need all the protection they can get when dropping into a new dimension hence why I had a shield." He then quickly dispersed the shield. "Well anyways I came here to see if I could find some info on him and see if he came to this dimension. I think I have found my answer in that young lad over there." He says while pointing out Piekrom.
Balrogga
10-10-2005, 09:48
"Oh, then you have come to take him away?"

Galvenor stood with his arms crossed in fromt of the stranger.

"Also, forgetting is no excuse for endangering my students. I thought your master would have taught you respect first and foremost. That is how we do things here. We teach our students to respect the Power and what it can do before we allow them to use it."

Galvenor paused for a moment.

"I have traveled the planes quite extensively myself and I have never needed such a construct of spells."

OOC:

You have yet to introduce yourself to anyone so nobody knows your name here. That is why I didn't use it.
[NS]Piekrom
10-10-2005, 15:18
"As I said the spell is a very simple spell that my order always uses. It is very safe and is only triggered from within an inch of my body. You might know more about the planes hence giving you the ability to avoid some of the more hostile ones. I have some times landed right over a volcano or in the middle of a war. We have only begun exploring them in the last 20 years. So we do not yet fully understand all of the plains. As far as taking him away that remains to be seen. first I need to ask about his familly and find out some info. If he is the son of our missing mage I might take him away. I noticed that his magik is inate and conected strongly to his emotions. We have delt with those type of people several times before, and have succecfully managed to seperate their magik form their emotions. None have died in this process. Our magik seems to operate a little differently from your though. I think I will be coming back here later on to teach our style but only if you are interested. Now i shall go see that one to find out what i can." As he was begining to turn around he remembered something and turned back to the person he was previously speaking to. "Oh wait how silly of me I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Tevric."
Kaymiril

A Silver Class Jzyumar was sitting with a Blue Class Niar.

J -- "Is the newcomer arguing with Master Galvenor?"

N -- "I think so."

10-10-2005, 18:36
"Well that will have to wait till another time for now I must compleat the mission I have been sent here to do. Well till later then." After that Tevric approches Piekrom and begins to ask him about who he is and who his parents are. He then hears the long sobering tale. At the end Tevric asks to see the weapon. He instantly recognizes it as the same blade that Nishir wore when he disapeared all those years ago.
Kaymiril
10-10-2005, 18:50
"Is it still infernal, if the demon never originated in the infernal or nether plane?" She asked, "Dalhar?"
"Yes."

Artemis glanced around him, he saw things of nature, animals if he looked closer, he saw the earth he saw....
"What am I suposed to be looking for?"
"What are we here for you to learn?"
Theao
10-10-2005, 19:00
"Yes."
"Then what would you suggest for me?" Miriana asked
Kaymiril
10-10-2005, 19:11
"Galvenor is the Warlord of Hell. He, if anyone, might help you. But he is occupied at the moment."
Theao
10-10-2005, 19:14
"He has already taught me much." Miriana replied, "But his magicks differ from mine in a few ways."
Kaymiril
10-10-2005, 19:33
"I don't know where you could find aide, then. No Kaymirilian mage will aide you."
Theao
10-10-2005, 19:38
"Are you certain?" She asked
Kaymiril
10-10-2005, 19:47
"Are you familiar with the human concept of taboo?"
Theao
10-10-2005, 19:52
"Vaguely thought I am human you know." Miriana said
Kaymiril
10-10-2005, 20:11
"While I am old, child, I can yet see. Infernal magicks are forbidden in Kaymiril. They are 'taboo.' You will not find one of my people to aide you."
Theao
10-10-2005, 20:24
"Might I ask why it is taboo?" She asked
Kaymiril
10-10-2005, 20:39
The Drow sighed. "Sit down, child."
Theao
10-10-2005, 20:40
Miriana sat down to listen to the story.
Kaymiril
10-10-2005, 20:41
"What do you know of Drow? Not of Kaymiril...but of Drow?"
Theao
10-10-2005, 20:42
"They are a species of elf that lives underground, and are generally matriarical." She replied
Kaymiril
10-10-2005, 20:55
"Then you know very little. The Drow that live in the Underdark commonly worship a goddess called Lolth above all others. Matrons of powerful houses -- family units that generally have many workers and slaves -- are always her Priestesses. They study to master Infernal magicks...demons, demonic powers...it is a corrupted society, where only ruthlessness, cunning, and a quick, but subtle dagger will keep you alive. From such a place our ancestors fled. Many powerful clerics came with Kaymiril the Great as she led her followers out. Their powers over demons were forbidden and sealed, and it was forbidden that it should ever be taught again. Demonic magicks and summoning have not ever been preformed by a Kaymirilian, and will not ever be."

OOC: this is true. Not even the Velkyn will do it. It is a vile thing in Kaymirilian society.
Theao
10-10-2005, 20:58
"So it's forbiddin to teach a student who utilizes infernal magicks, regardless of whether the magicks being taught are demonic?" She asked

ooc: Isn't Kay(queen) a summoner?
Kaymiril
10-10-2005, 21:00
"Actually, most would kill you, if given a chance."

OOC: She is a summoner, but she does not summon demons, and she only summons very, very rarely.
Theao
10-10-2005, 21:02
"Even thought I had no choice in learning the magicks?" She asked
Kaymiril
10-10-2005, 21:08
"You have studied and are able to command demonic magicks. That makes you vile...an abberation...something to be destroyed. There is always choice. Choice to learn, choice not to learn, choice to go or to walk away, choice to accept or to shun. You are fortunate to have found me first."
Theao
10-10-2005, 21:10
"In my case, it was learn, or be destroyed by it." Miriana commented
Kaymiril
10-10-2005, 21:13
"And any and all of my people will tell you that you should have been destroyed."
Theao
10-10-2005, 21:17
"Which seems foolish, espcially as they don't know of the circumstances." She replied
Kaymiril
10-10-2005, 21:29
"It seems foolish to you, dalhar. To me, it makes sense. You cannot judge my culture based upon yours."
Theao
10-10-2005, 21:32
"Perhaps, but is it not unlike geno, or speciescide?" She asked

"We're getting into the gray area again." Miriana replied, "At least for my culture, there are nether-mages, or infernomancers as you call them, and those who can use demonic magicks, which are two different areas of magick."
Kaymiril

Piekrom']"Well that will have to wait till another time for now I must compleat the mission I have been sent here to do. Well till later then." After that Tevric approches Piekrom and begins to ask him about who he is and who his parents are. He then hears the long sobering tale. At the end Tevric asks to see the weapon. He instantly recognizes it as the same blade that Nishir wore when he disapeared all those years ago.

Galvenor was not happy about the rude way Tevric completely dismissed him in his own school. He followed the intruder as he went over to interrogate one of his students.

“It is rude to enter someone else’s place and completely disrespect the host. It is not good manners to go about interrogating someone else’s student without asking their instructors first.”

Galvenor paused a moment.

“You must either leave the White Tower and it’s grounds immediately or face the consequences."

Galvenor stood his ground.

We never leave anyone who is not ready to be off teaching to be unsupervized at any time during their training. Except when they are sleeping or eating or in their free time for the children."

Galvenor could barely contain himself. He refrained from rolling his eyes or from letting his opinion influence his reaction. This guy was just asking to be taught a lesson.

“As the Chancellor of the school, every sentient being that attends classes are my students. It does not matter which instructor is handling their classes, they are my responsibility. I hope you see why I do not like magelings entering the White Tower with their dangerous defenses primed so any of my students could get hurt. A comparable comparison would be if I brought one of our Grav Torps into your home. It is damn irresponsible.”

“As to the reason he was not in class that is something he will have to answer to Cougar. One of the things we teach here is responsibility. He is responsible for attending classes and doing his homework. I don’t know how you do things where you come from but we don’t teach our students so they need a babysitter unless they are sleeping or eating. We certainly frown on our students having children until they are at least graduated. You already disrupted the class I was teaching by your thoughtlessness.”

“This leads us again to what I just said a couple minutes ago. You must either leave the White Tower and its grounds immediately or face the consequences."

Tervic: "The only thing that I see is someone who is very up tight and overly protective. Their can only be a few possible reasons for your anger and all of them stem from fear. If you did not fear me in any way you would not be demanding that I leave so quickly. What is it about me that you fear one might ask themselves? Well I shall spell it out for you based on what I see from all that you have said. First you claim to be the sole authority in this tower. That is the wrong way for any institution of higher learning to operate though the best way is a council. So what you fear from that perspective of being the leader is not so much so that my magik is dangerous but rather because it is something you have been strongly discouraging your students from doing because you yourself do not understand how to do it safely. So by seeing some one wielding it you fear that your students will stop listening to you and your authority will thus be countered. Another thing you fear is that i might be able to take your spot but I can assure you that I have no intention of doing that. As to why our students are always watched is because our students are under almost continual training hence the watchfulness. At the same time though we do recognize that they are their own person and are allowed to talk to whoever they please as long as it does not disturb their lessons. He was not currently in a lesson from what I see. You also just said that you are not directly teaching him hence you just invalidated yourself. You have no real authority over what he does unless it endangers the tower. I will not allow you to get in the way of my mission. If you continue then this precious tower of yours will be razed to the ground. There have been many more powerful schools of learning magik than yours. Most have been kinder than you have been but those that have attempted to kill one of ours no longer exist. I have tried to be consolatory and apologetic but no you just want to harp on everything I do. I have been alive for over 100000 years. Do not think that I have not met anyone as powerful as or more powerful than you over that time period. Now we can otherwise try to be friends and our order can send you people to help you learn about our magik which relies upon combining forces or we can be enemies and your tower will get razed to the ground."

Not trying to be rude, but stop being so foolish, the guys(or girls sorry?) in charge of this thread, or at least the most important involoved in this seem to be: Snake Eaters, Balrogga, Warhaven, and Kaymiril (sorry any other big players, I havnt been around that long). I may be blind but the name Piekrome does not seem to be up there. I agree before u have a go at me that nor is fattie slug, or the zombies, but it's a bit obvious that concerning you, these guys are the big boys. These are the guys that can probably decide to get you BARRED from this thread if they want to, or maybe even just make it so that no one will react to your posts.
I wouldn't be rude to them, and I wouldn't try to A) threaten, or B) change a thread that has managed to keep going for over 12,000 replies. Also 100,000 years is not much compared to an Eldar like Eldrad, and his "magic" is nothing like most 'mancers, because he is a psyker. He is also a lot more powerful than any character that you will be able to come up with!!

Artemis looked on the distant volcanoe. He saw the ash, he saw the lava, he saw the boulders that had been thrown up from the crater. He saw them trailing corunas of smoke and dust. He tried harder, he tried to sense the violent reactions happening.

He could feel the magic pulsing through the ground, being draw towards the volcanoe, fuelling it in places, simply welling up inside it in oters, disappearing down into the molten magma and into the magma. He saw the magic in the boulders, the lava, even to his amazement, in the ash. He gasped and turned to fae his teacher, quickly outlining what he had just seen.

OOC:

Calm down everyone. Remember this is a game. Everything said so far has been In Character so there is no reason to be affected by it Out Of Character.

When we set up the tower, we split the responsibilities. Cougar took over the Combat Training. I was given the task of teaching the students the basic concepts of magic itself. Kaymiril with her multitude of specialist would take the advanced students in those aforementioned specialties. Warhaven wanted to do the “post-grad” studies. Galvenor was also given the seat of the Chancellor for the school for reasons I will not go into here because it would be a Spoiler. That is something you might discover in the future…

Now, you were correct about one thing. Galvenor does fear what you could do to those put under his charge. He is responsible for all the students and faculty in the school. It would be like taking a bomb into a school or some other insane action that normal people would get outraged at. He believes you endangered his students.

Please don’t go into the semantics of who is teaching whom. Every person attending a school can be considered to be the students of the Principal. the principal has the right to use the phrase “my students” even though he does not teach any classes. He is the one person the responsibility for everyone’s education falls upon.

Now that I settled that argument, can we please get back to the Role Playing? Everyone stop getting pissy and remember,
THIS IS ONLY A GAME!!!!!!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program:

Piekrom: "Hey I can speak to whoever I want. I chose to answer him."

Galvenor turns to Piekrom and speaks in a neutral tone.

“Yes I agree. I have no problem with you answering him. If you are finished I suggest you should run along to your class. The bell is about to ring and I would not want you to be late.”

Galvenor waited for Piekrom to hurry to class before he spoke again.

“You were saying?”

Tervic: "The only thing that I see is someone who is very up tight and overly protective. Their can only be a few possible reasons for your anger and all of them stem from fear. After Tervic was finished with his rant, Galvenor only smiled slightly.

“Well, if that is what you truly believe, then I accept your challenge. We shall meet in the Arena outside the school gates at dawn tomorrow. If you do not show, you will forfeit and everyone will know the value of your words. If you do show and you win, everyone will know the value of your words.”

Galvenor looked up towards the morning sun.

“You have about 20 hours to prepare. I suggest you practicing some calming exercises. Now if you will excuse me, I have a class to teach.”

Galvenor turned and walked away. As he walked, he faded from view.

Let's let the judges decide what the rules are. They will tell us at the start of the Duel. Neither of us will know in advance so we cannot plan anything, we will have to use our wits and knowlege instead.

The Arena is just as you can imagine one with a few changes. There is a strong Anti-Magic field protecting the audience from anything that happens in the ring. Neither of us can break the field, it was placed by the Elder God of Magic. There is nothing more powerful than him other than the Multiverse itself. The 6 Elder Gods are Avatars of the Multiverse. We will both have to use our feet to enter or leave the ring. The entire battle will be contained within this field.

The students and faculty will be in the seats watching. We get to split the proceeds from the popcorn and ice cream sales. (hehehe)

The rest is up to the judges.

OOC: I so would post, but not now. Soon though, soon... for now, a very simple IC post.

IC: Xos was still at the tower through all the recent events, though he was studying on the nature of machines as they interact with Magick. He was always looking for ways to expand the thin branch of Magicks known as energy magicks, and machinery seemed to be the way to go.

He paused, the energy of the tower was diffrent, not that that was new. Th energies always changed, do to learning magick, new students coming in, and the process of Entropy. A newcomer came in, bearing a diffrent form of magick. Xos paused at the top of the stone steps leading down form the second floor, upon which was the section of Library he was in. Then he felt Lord Galvenor arrive, even before he saw it. Galvenor's form of movement always set off alarm bells in Xos's mind simply because of its nature. Xos knew Reality was a fragile thing.

Xos could only smile. The newcomer must not know who he was dealing with. Only madmen argued with Galvenor.

A duel, tomorrow? Xos loved duels, as did the other Archwizards. Tomorrow, all the Warhaven Archwizards would be in one spot at the same time, in the same place, a rare feat indeed.

Xos hoped they had popcorn, he loved popcorn. The others, well, that was a diffrent story.

Xos returned to the library. He was studying many things. Currently, he was formulating a spell to cause all nearby machinery to spontainiously self-destruct, even if it normally could not self-destruct in any manner. A dangerous spell to Col. Cougar indeed, if the rumors were true.

IC:
"Ah right, would I be able to draw magic from the volcano then?"

"Not directly, no. The thing about magick is that it is inherent around us, but not formed. We take the energy, which we call fashka, in my native tongue, from our surroundings. In our case, we manipulate and draw primarily from the earth. Active volcanos produce a lot of fashka due to their very nature. You would be able to siphon off the energy and focus it into your spells. It doesn't wear you down so easily, and it amplifies your natural power tenfold."

No, it will not be to the death, but to submission. If you held one of the students at knifepoint and made me surrender, you would win. I know you would not do anything like that so I used it as an example. Also, since I am a FT nation, calling for an orbital bombardment would also not be fair. She was curious to see just how this would turn out. So, she waited in the Garden, just as patiently as you please, until the time came to go to the arena. The scent of a feild of Wildflowers of all colors and types seemed to waft from her general direction. It was a pleasant scent. Aldur wandered off to find someone to play with in this tower. For the Arena, I think we should use a real one. Let’s use the 2000 year old one at Verona Italy. I have been there and it is nice. It is not too big like the Coliseum in Rome but it is big enough for our use. If you want to know more about it or to see any pictures, you can GOOGLE for info or images. This will allow everyone to see the same thing.

I assume we would enter from opposite sides and meet either in the middle, shake hands, and then stand at an arranged spot. The Judges will then give the command to start. There will be lights and cameras recording the whole thing. There will also be several instruments arranged inside the anti-magic shield with cables leading out so the Research Lab can get readings on the events. It would have to be inside or they would not pick up anything because of the shield.

Think of the shield as something shaped like a birdcage but with solid walls. It does not affect anything we carry through but till stop magic from entering or leaving the area. Teleporting in is impossible even for Gods. Only BelDragos and his Siblings and the Avatar of the Multiverse can do so or affect the shield.

That’s enough background. The judges can determine the rest from here.

IC:

Galvenor spent the day composing his lesson for the next class, reading comfortably, and visiting with his staff and students, a normal day for him. That night he sat up, his kind incapable of sleep and not needing it like those still embodied. He spent his time catching up on the daily paperwork involved in running the college. Budget reports, supply requisitions, and much of the other bureaucratic nuisance that went with the job. Other colleges usually hired staff to take care of it but Galvenor felt he was closer to the school when he did it himself.

Periodically he received reports from his “servants” who spent their time researching the stranger named Tervic. There was an old Earth general that preached “having true knowledge of your foe was better than your foe having false knowledge of you”. He intended on both. If Tervic was to inquire about him, they would try to subvert and twist the knowledge so he would not know what to expect. The result would be the dotting old paranoid fool Tervic accused him of being.

About an hour before dawn, one of the “servants” appeared to him.

“Master, it is the appointed hour. You wished to be notified one hour before dawn.”

Galvenor looked up from the books that were hovering in front of him.

“Already? Drat, I was just getting into three of these and I would have finished the fourth in another two hours. Oh, well.”

With a wave, the books closed and returned themselves to their respective spots on the shelves. He adjusted him image to appear as he had not slept and shuffled off to the Arena. He slowly walked though the halls of the White Tower until he reached the gate. The guard opened them and he continued outside and approached the Arena about 10 minutes before dawn. Already the entire staff and student body had assembled.

He went to his assigned entry to the field and waited until Tervic was at the other side. When the judges demanded, he shuffled into the center of the Arena to shake Tervic’s hand. He adjusted the hardness of his “body” to make it seem like he was very weak and slipped in a show of pain from Tervic’s tight grasp. He turned and went to his position and waited for the Judge to announce the rules. He leaned heavily upon his staff, breathless from so much exertion.

It was the appointed hour. The sun began to light up the eastern sky with tinges of red and orange, instead of the grays and purples of pre-dawn.

Eight mages appeared at equal intervals from each other, enough to leave double the room at the northern end of the arena.

From east to west, they were colored:

Red, White, Gold, Gray, Black, Silver, Brown, and Blue.

Between the Red and the Blue, a dense mist began to form, and in that mist, there was a figure. The fog condensed even more, before lifting, and there, for all to see, was the current incarnation of Death.

She pounded down her scythe in front of her, and silence spread through the arena as anything capable of creating a noise heeded to this ghostly command.

These will be the rules for this duel.
First, neither combatant will kill the other.
Second, this is a magickal battle only. There will be no physical attacks.
Third, whatever damage is done stays inside this arena. If Mith or myself is unable to repair what damage is done, the victory will be announced nul and void.
This is to be a clean fight. Any foul play will result in the immediate termination of the cheater.
That is all.

Galvenor remained standing, unmoved by what his opponent was trying to do. He was carefully analyzing his moves and spells. His research had told him Tevric used elemental combination magic. Something used in the past but not much because of the weaknesses discovered in their usage. It was now time to act.

It seemed like Tevric only knew about five of the elements. He will soon be instructed in some others. Ta’Nar have the ability to completely multitask their minds out to several tasks at once. It was useful talent when in battle because they can assign one “segment” to attacks, another to defense, and a couple more for reactionary castings. This made the Ta’Nar dangerous but also unknown, usually because the attacker did not survive to describe the battle later.

With a thought, Galvenor cast three spells simultaneously.

Defense:

A wall of thick icy gelatinous matter appeared. It was material from the Para-Elemental Plane of Ice, positioned between the Elemental Planes or Air and Water. There were two systems in operation upon the Elemental Planes: Opposition and Dominance. Earth was Opposed by Air but it was Dominated by Water. Since the attack was of Earth laced with threads of Fire, The Para-Elemental properties of Ice would both Oppose and Dominate the attack. It would make a very effective shield.

Offense:

Galvenor caused an energy burst from the Elemental Negative Plane to fill the area around Tevric. The qualities of this energy were to shift the Elemental Defenses into Quasi-Elemental forms, possibly something he had not seen before. Having explored all 25 Elemental, Para-elemental, Quasi-Elemental and both the Positive and Negative planes, he could easily recognize them and use them efficiently. The

Miscellaneous:

Antipathy was cast at the defenses Tevric erected. The friendly semi-sentient spells that would act upon their own now were twisted into semi-sentient forced that were no longer very friendly to their maker. This would result in them attacking their caster, instead of defending him.

For the next few minutes, Tevric would be very busy.

Galvenor remained standing there, leaning upon his staff watching and waiting for what his attacker would do next.

OOC:

If you didn't know about them then you cannot use them. They would be new to your character. The Para-Elemental, Quazi-Elemental, Positive, Negative, and Spirit (or in Oriental Adventures sourcebook, Wood) have been part of AD&D since the 1980's.
[NS]Piekrom

Tevricks semi life filled shield uses the inversion of spirit to absorbe the apathy spell redering it useless. The shield then acts upon the other energys creating something akin to a black hole with a combination of inversed life inversed spirit and plain earth absorbing the energy rendering that useless. it then desintigrates the matter letting it evaporate and become regular particals.

While his shield handels these spells tevric then creates a more complex spell mixing fire with water thus creating a spear of fire and ice due to all the heat from the water goes into the fire helping fuel the fire which also absorbes from the air. Making intense heat and extream cold ice hard as steel and sends it right at Galvenor.

OOC:you missed how mine works. It is six basic elements that can be inverted. ice can not be made without subtracting heat wich is the domain of fire. that is just as an example of how they invert.
Balrogga
17-10-2005, 04:48
OOC:

I think you misunderstood what I actually did.

I first made a shield spell from summoning raw matter from the Para-Elemental plane of Ice. Para-elemental Ice is composed of Elemental Air and Water. In the Elemental Wheel it lays between the two main elements Water and Air

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/beldragos/Para-Elemental.gif

In the image, Dominance travels clockwise while opposition is with whatever element lies directly across the Elemental Wheel. Thus Water is Dominated by Air, which is dominated by Fire, which is dominated by Earth, which is dominated by Water, ect…

Now this is a two dimensional image I just described. Place a positive pole and a negative pole at the top and bottom respectively. Now we have the Quasi-Elemental Planes. The Quasi-Elemental Planes are only with the four main Elements (fire, air, water, earth). This turns Fire into Radiance or into Ash, Earth into Mineral or to Dust, Water into Steam or Salt, or Air into Lightning or Vacuum. The shift depends upon whether it has a Positive or Negative shift.

I flooded the area with a massive amount of Negative Elemental Energy so your elemental spells would be shifted to their other aspects, no longer Earth, but dust, ect…

So now you have your defensive spells shifted into forms you would probably not only fail to recognize, but probably not be able to properly control. They are not Fire or Earth Elemental Energies and you did place Spirit into them so they would have minds of their own.

MY Antipathy Spell will shift allegiances from friendly to foe. It is an old AD&D spell and has been around for more than a dozen years.

The result is you now would find your spells twisted into forms you might have never seen and they now “look” at you as their enemy.

OOC:

If you expect me to recognize your system of Elementalism, you have to also recognize mine.

I acknowledged your creation of semi-sentient spells but you completely ignored everything I stated about the Elements. That isn’t only not very nice, but it is also rude.

Also, it is not apathy, it is Antipathy. There is a big difference between the two. One is the lack of emotion, motivation, or enthusiasm. The other is a feeling of strong dislike or hostility.

If the spirits absorbed that, then the spirits would strongly disike you and remain neutral towards me, the opposite of what they would feel in a normal situation. (I'm not pushing for them to like me seeing as they regarded me neutrally from the start,)

I will accept for now what has happened but in the future you must also play fair.

IC:

Galvenor remained standing, leaning against his staff unmoving.

Defense:

Material from the Para-Elemental plane of Mineral was summoned into a wall, the matter flowed upward from the ground becoming a translucent barrier formed of Diamond. The Elemental Diamond caused the steel hard ice to shatter, sending fragments flying from the great force of the impact. Chunks flew everywhere in a spectacular shower of sparkling ice. Several of them flew towards the audience, to be completely negated by the Anti-Magic Shield protecting them. This did not prevent several from trying to duck the fragments.

Miscellaneous:

A wavering field of energy formed around Tervic, but outside the shield he erected. It caused everything to appear hazy and fuzzy, but it appeared to disrupt itself and collapse with an audible *POP!*. Instead of collapsing, it caused everything in the arena to appear somewhere else when viewed from within itself. This form of the Distance Distortion spell affected the appearance of locations of things outside of it, like the Displacer Beast of legend. It would make it hard to aim, or even look in the correct direction.

Offense:

Galvenor channeled energy straight down into the ground. The invisible energy snaked about underneath remaining undetected due to the distractions above. It waited to strike. When the command came, at the moment of greatest distraction, it leapt upwards from within the center of the shields Tervic set up around and above him. There was no flashy appearance, no bursting from the ground, no display whatsoever. The Contrariness Spell simply set into him (you do the opposite of what you want to do, see Ring of Contrariness for effects).

Galvenor waited to see what Tervic would attempt to do next.

Balrogga
18-10-2005, 17:43
OOC:

The Contrariness doesn’t affect your spells, it affects you. If you tried to cast a thickening spell on the air it would still thicken. If someone told you to eat an apple, you would do anything other than eat the apple. If you wanted to cast a fireball at me, you would cast it at someone else or a different spell at me. Understand it now?

Again, I will accept the thin air. Sorry about the confusion.

IC:

Galvenor leans upon his staff, standing still. He carefully watches and listens to everything Tervic does.

“So you want to turn this into an Elemental showdown? Give me your best.”

Defense:

Galvenor opened a gateway into the Elemental Plane of Air, causing a great wind to blow through the arena restoring the atmosphere. After the pressure was equalized, the gateway closed.

Offense:

Galvenor carefully established an open conduit to pass spells through. The conduit traveled through the ground and emerged under Tervic’s feet. It was only meta-physical in form so there is no physical manifestation. It will allow Galvenor to bypass Tervic’s defensive wall. No spells were sent along it, yet.

Miscellaneous:

Galvenor began casting Elemental Avoidance. It would make all elemental forms to try to avoid getting to close to him. It will only last a short time but that would be longer than the duel.

Galvenor stood his ground as his opponent wandered around the arena as if under a confusion spell. The randomness of his route made it hard to guess his path.

He thought it was about time to start the downfall of his opponent. So far he had been toying with Tervic but this was getting boring. He tried to counter his spells with Elemental counter spells as well as causing extreme disorientation within him. It seemed to work so far but it was time to show the foreigner what Meta-Magic was.

While Galvenor was good with Elemental magic, he was considered an Adept in Meta- Magic. Meta-Magic is the direct control and manipulation of the raw energy of the spells. He shaped and combined the Mana with his will, causing spells to combine and become something they were not before. In the past he had combined Warfare’s Fieros and his Ultima to destroy the Demon Warlord Apollyon and then combined Fieros with Chain Lightning to destroy his army. (Post #266)

Galvenor concentrated and reached down deep inside himself to where his Conduit lay, tying him to the Multiverse. He grasped the power that lay there and channeled it into a spell. He pulled more power and forced it to form into another spell, tied to the first. He released the newly formed enchantment into the Arena towards there Tervic danced his chaotic waltz. The energy flowed from Galvenor. It formed an area affecting abjuration of Banish Elemental and Anti-Magic.

The result should not only send the elemental effects back to where they were summoned from but it would also prevent any other magic from existing in the area. Normally the first spell would be destroyed by the Anti-Magic but since they were tied together, they both existed. All other spells would be negated.

Galvenor remained outside the Anti-Magical area.

While Tervic was walking about the Arena trying to get out of the Anti-Magic Area, Galvenor threw up a false image of where he was. He changed locations while Tervic was busy recasting his shields so he was standing right next to him, within the same shield. He waited for Tervic to make the next move, floating immaterially in the same place as Tervic.

The shield Tervic constructed around “Galvenor” held for a moment before collapsing upon itself, there being no physical object for it to target upon. The image of Galvenor still remained standing there, watching and leaning upon his staff.

“You missed.” Galvenor whispered within Tervic’s mind using his Telepathy. The voice was eerie and untraceable.

Galvenor quickly cast a couple spells while Tervic was confused.

Miscellaneous:

Galvenor flooded the immediate area Tervic was occupying with Positive Elemental Energy. He was hoping his newly conjured set of shields would try to absorb it because it would cause the Spirit Elemental to evolve into complete sentient beings instead of partial ones under Tervic’s control. These newly evolved beings would not take kindly to their slave status.

Defense:

Galvenor sets up a Redirection Spell so any spells cast at him is bounced back as if it struck a Magic Mirror and was Reflected.

Offensive:

Galvenor carefully placed a spell into Tervic’s Aura. The spell will cause the energies of the spell to feed back into Tervic, causing pain and disrupting the casting of his spell. The name of the enchantment was Morganna’s Backlash. It was a spell from his family line, a closely guarded secret that few outside knew about. A caster injured during the casting usually resulted in the disruption of the spell being cast. We will see if Tervic’s spellcasting follows the laws of magic.

Unfortunatly galvanor did not realise that tevric did not put up any new shield but rater just feellers extending from himself with no mind or partial sientety what so ever. upon felling the spells aproch he walks into the antimagik area ,after he extends the spell with his extenstion spells so that it goes into the ground, till galvanor's spell passes. He thinks quickly how to conquer his opponents mirror. He then steps out of the antimagik area casts a spell of dark burning light which absorbes magik energy from magik spells sent against it giving a powerfull punch to whoever gets hit by it. Knowing the rules he took outh the thing that would have made it balefire(straight from Robert Jordan and his wheel of time sieris it is a forbin spell of emence power and danger) which would have compleatly distroyed his oponent or anything it touches even through the time and space continuem. Right as it aproches his oponents mirrior he constructs his own mirrior around his opponients facing the opoisit direction. so that the spell was bouncing back and forth taking energy from each as it bounced and growing in strength till one of the mirriors gave way. Tevric in the mean time kept adding to his mirror from the outside giving it more and more layers.

IC:

Galvenor followed Tervic into the Anti-Magic area, continuously whispering in his mind, taunting him. When Tervic left, Galvenor remained but still broadcast his whispering taunts so he would think Galvenor was still with him. Galvenor watched Tervic cast several mirror spells facing each other bouncing power back and forth around the location where he thought Galvenor was (occupying the same spot Tervic was) so the mirror spells were constructed basically around himself. Galvenor watched as he placed several back-up mirrors around the ones he placed while the energy was building. Soon it would be too powerful to be contained but Galvenor would be safe while he was inside the Anti-Magic area.

Tevric realizes that the spell is beginning to get to powerful so he releases his mirrors and enters the anti magik field wondering were his opponent is. While he does this the dark light blasts into the dome magik shield and is obliterated with a loud boom sending shock waves through out the field which knocks him to the ground.

The Anti-Magic Spell will destroy any spell that enters it. It wiped the Contrariness spell from him when he first entered it.

They are correct in the assumption that any magical abilities are negated within the field. Galvenor is in his True Form, the pure Ta’Nar form without generating the illusion (Psionically) of a body he usually does while moving about the school. He is a pure Psionic Entity. It is all in the first couple pages of this Thread.

Out of fairness I have refrained from using any of my Psionic abilities other than his Telepathy. I do not know if you can locate me by sensing your surroundings because I am not physically part of them. I am only presenting you with OOC info so you can make your determination.

I also have been refraining from using the powers granted to me from being the Warlord of Hell (your Hellfire would have not hurt me if it was truly Hellfire for that reason).

My Immortality is also not being taken into consideration here.

I am just being an Adept in a battle but not using all his abilities, just his mage abilities.

Again, this is OOC info you would not know IC.

My mistake, I mis-remembered what you posted. I thought you called it Hellfire. Hellfire burns the Soul instead of the body. It cannot be put out by ordinary means. Nasty stuff. It's use would be banned in this event being definately Lethal, and thus against the rules.

As far as you Spirit Sense, I will let the Judges decide if it works. They are the Judges after all. If they decide it is a magical effect then it would not work in the Anti-Magic Area of Effect.

Judge Ruling #1

Since Pikerom has defined Spirit as a magickal element (a valid move in many cultures and systems), the use of said element to detect a being composed purely of conciousness would function as a spell or manifestation of magick.

As Tervic is still within the area that nullifies magickal abilities, he may not sense Galvenor.

Likewise, Galvenor is limited in his actions to whatever non-magickal abilities he has, while Tervic is limited to physical manifestations of strength.

...right. Would you care to point out precisely where RJ says the Dark One cannot stand up to balefire? It can kill people bonded to the Dark One, but it can't kill the Dark One himself. Get your facts straight before you shove your foot down your throat and choke.

Galvenor watched Tervic carefully. His perceptions were far from anything a human could conceive. Being a creature of pure energy with no physical manifestations, he did not have eyes. He did not use the typical rods and cones structures to see the world around him. Instead he perceived pure energy itself.

Looking at Tervic, Galvenor could see the Weak and Strong Nuclear Force holding him together. There was Electro-magnetic paths snaking through him following his cardio-vascular system. The neuro-system also flashed with continuous electro-magnetic energies impulses between his body and his brain. Tervic also had a weak gravitational field, one proportional to his mass.

All physical beings were nothing but a collection of energies, the basic bonds that held their bodies together. In addition to these energy patterns he shared with the stone below his feet and that composing the Arena around them, Tervic also possessed several Eldritch energy patterns. These are what Galvenor watched carefully. The flow of these energies would show him what spells Tervic would attempt to cast. They would show him Tervic’s potential. It would show him Tervic’s weaknesses.

So far his observations had been correct about his elemental links. He also was able to cast a few other spells but his primary link was to Elementals. He leaned closer to study the find gossamer web that was Tervic's Eldritch Patterns. He was looking for those threads that were the key to Tervic’s abilities. If he could manipulate those, he might even strip him of his magical abilities. Galvenor was not powerful enough to do anything like that permanently but it might last for a couple hours, depending upon the resistance of the Threads to being moved or unraveled. They tend to repair themselves unless a great deal of power is put into the action to rewrite the pattern, something only a god could do.

This was to be his plan but first he needed to get Tervic to do a few things in order to study how his Pattern worked. He carefully studied his Pattern and his Conduit, his link to the Source of Magic, the Multiverse.

First he needed to cause the Anti-Magic spell to drop. Galvenor wondered if he should replace it with a Delusion spell and decided it would be best if he did. The enchantment would trick Tervic to think the Anti-Magic spell was still operational to the point where he would delude or make himself think he sees (hallucinates) the spells disappear while they remained operational. It was a simple spell and it had been used many times in the past. The spell was even used to enchant a ring, creating a cursed item that makes the wearer think the ring provided the benefits of a different type of ring such as Fire Resistance or even Flight. These used to be distributed in the nations that were at war with Balrogga to undermine their mage forces. That was in days far in the past. Several of the rings still exist, passed unwittingly from user to user.

Galvenor dispelled his Anti-Magic spell and quickly replaced it with a Delusion Spell targeted upon Tervic. Hopefully he would think the Anti-Magic was still working.

OOC:

I stated my plan. There is no way you can know it but I did so for the record. If you object to the way I described his vision, how would an energy being perceive the universe around him. We perceive matter because we are constructed of it. He is constructed of energy, consciousness only. That is why your attempts to hide your casting has failed. He is watching the spell energies themselves as the spell forms thus knowing what you were doing.

Did everyone understand everything in this Post? I kinda mixed in hard science and pure fantasy together. If anyone needs a further clairification, please TG me.

The Ring of Delusion is searchable item on Google if you want to look it up. Here is a link if you cannot find one:

OOC: I can confirm this, so you can make an IC post. The Delusion spell will, as you say, make Tervic think that the anti-magick area is still there, when in fact it is not.

Tevric gets board of waiting inside the anit-magik field. Then he feels something strange happening. He thinks that the anti-magik area might be weakining. He then steps out of the area and places a net of spirit through all areas and into the ground except were he believes the anti-magik thing to be waiting for galvanor to come out or attack so he can react propperly. Not being certain about how stable the anti-magik area still is he decides to try relying on his own defences.

OOC: Here goes nothing. Note, this is just my intro post. I tend to get more character oriented after this. This will also set up some of the magic done in my nation.

IC: The Dragon gleamed in the light of the setting sun, his scales glittering as he soard toward the castle that crowned the mountaintop. His gaze shifted to a wide, flat area ending in a cliff, wreathed in shadows cast by the dying light. A slight tilt of the powerful wings and the red dragon turned, silent, beautiful, deadly, intent on his goal.

He landed, claws scraping against stone, the sound harsh in the crystalline air. A red mist surrounded him and the great Dragon became a wraith; the mist contracted, then disappeared, leaving behind the figure of a tall man.

Linden (OOC: I know I'm using him in another thread, but this post is his only appearance here) brushed a strand of hair from his eyes, his blood singing from his long flight and the magick of the Changing. He crossed the shadow-dappled landing area. As he reached the first step of the long stairway that led to the castle of Dragonskeep, a voice, old but still clear and strong, rang out.

"Dragonlord."

Linden paused and looked up. On the stairs high above him stood an elderly Kir, his silvered fur catching the last of the sunlight, no expression on his short-muzzled face.

Sirl, personal servent to a Lady on the Dragonlord Council, regarded him in return. "The Council has need of you," the Kir said.

Why? Linden wondered as he raised a hand in acknowledgement and bounded up the stairs, his long legs taking the steps three at a time. It had been long and long since he'd had such a summons.

When Linden reached the step where Sirl waited, the Kirl bowed to him. "If you will follow me, Dragonlord," he said. Then he turned and led the wondering Linden to the Keep.

No words where exchanged as they walked through the white marble halls of Dragonskeep. Globes of coldfire, set to hovering in the air by various Dragonlords, lit the way. At last they came to the tower room set aside for meetings of the Dragonlord Council. Sirl opened the door and bowed Linden inside. Linden entered the chamber; Sirl followed close behind.

Globes of white coldfire lit this room as well, setting aflame the gold threads running through the tapestries that covered the five walls. Dragons soaring against blue skies, sunsets, a river of stars, or amoung mountain crags covered four of them. The fifth, incongruously, was of a hunting scene: a stag, a pack of baying hounds, three huntsmen, all forever frozen as they raced through the forest.

Linden walked across to his chair at the massive wood table that took up the center of the room. Sirl remained standing next to the doors. The other members of the Dragonlord Council looked up as Linden approached.

"Welcome home, Linden," said Lleld, she was the shortest of the Dragonlords.

"Glad to be back, Lleld," he replies as he sat down. He says, jokingly, "Gained any inches while I was away?" Linden knew she wouldn't have. After six-hundered years, he still looked twenty-eight, the age when he first Changed, himself.

"Linden, Lleld, can we get to the business at hand now?" asks the man sitting at the head of the table. Eragon, by virtue of being one of the oldest, living Dragonlords, was head of the Dragonlord Council.

"Sure thing, Eragon," nodded Lleld and Linden at the same time. The four other Dragonlords that make up the remaining members of the seven person council also nod.

Eragon says, "I have recieved a report from off this island of a place that offers instruction in magic."

Linden says, "I have heard of this in my travels as well. It is known as the White Tower."

"Correct," replies Eragon, "the other Councilors have all voted yes to sending a representative from our island. We only await your vote, my friend."

"Do you have anyone particular in mind that you want to send?" Linden asks.

"Yes, I do," responds Eragon, "Her name is Ichiro Suzuki. I believe you know her, Linden."

"Yes," Linden answers, "I know her. That young Kyubi happens to have taken a liking to me."

Lleld snorts, "I think its more of a crush than you are willing to admit, Linden."

"Well," Linden says, ignoring Lleld's comment, "If you deam it is needed, Eragon, she will make an excellent choice to send. She has no lack in the power department, its her attitude that needs work. The best I can describe her as is a brat, pure and simple."

Eragon nods, "Then its settled. I will inform her first thing in the morning."

The Council then turns to other matters they must attend to.

OOC: The Dragonlords aren't half-Dragon, there Were-Dragons. And Ichiro Suzuki is a Kyubi, that's one of those nine-tailed fox demons (though she has a two-legged form that she can shift to). At only 100, though she doesn't look it, she is the youngest Kyubi on the island, and though she has the power of her species, she is very much a brat and tends to wear her emotions on her sleeves as they say.

IC: Ichiro was playing in the woods inside the base of the crater of the mountain on which the Dragonlords made their home. The floor of the crater was dedicated to the stables and plains where the Dragonlords kept their herds of Llysanyins. Eragon flew down in his Draconic form and landed near the tree she was engaged in climbing. He Changed to his human form and called up to her.

"Ichiro, please come down. I want to talk to you."

Ichiro (http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b325/USS_Atlantis_RPG/Character%20Pics/catgirl_471.jpg) peered down through the branches at him and stuck out her tounge.

Eragon used his magick to cause the tree to shake. Ichiro fell out cause she was unable to hold on. Eragon caught her before she hit the ground.

Eragon said, "If you continue to climb trees, little one, at least change out of your good dress."

Ichiro pulled a twig out of her hair. Grumpily, she said, "Well, now that I'm down, what did you want?"

Eragon set her on her feet. "The Council would like to send you to a school of magick to represent the island."

She huffed. "Why didn't you even ask me if I wanted to go in the first place?" she wined.

Eragon sighed, the little Kyubi was trying at the best of times. "The Council only wishes the best for you," Eragon thought quickly, "And Linden also mentioned something about wanting you to improve your magick skills."

Ichiro perked up when she heard Linden's name. Like Lleld had said, she did indeed have a crush on Linden.

"Well, I suppose if Linden wants it," she muses, her tail lazily curling around her left leg. Eragon knew this was a critical moment and didn't make a sound.

Ichiro asks, "When do I leave?"

Eragon replies, "As soon as you are packed, Ichiro."

She smiles a bratty smile, "I always keep a bag packed for whenever Linden wants me to travel with him."

She snaps her fingers and a bag appears in a pillar of green flame.

Eragon smiles and hands her a envelope. "Give this to the head of the White Tower when you get there." She nods her understanding.

"One question though," she says, "Where is this White Tower?"

Eragon simply scoops out a hollow in the dirt, allows the surrounding moisture to fill it, and turns it into a Scrying pool. Pictured in it is the White Tower.

"Just picture that in your mind, little one," he says.

Ichiro grabs her bag, and sighs. She knows Eragon is the oldest on the entire island and tends to call everyone 'little one', but it does tend to get to her.

Ichiro closes her eyes and pictures the White Tower like Eragon had instructed her to. She vanished in a pillar of red flame, bag and all, and re-appeared in front of the Tower.

Klelt, a rather odd individual was arriving at the Tower when there was a flash of fire beside him. Pulling back his hood, he revealed, very large, cat type ears perched on the top of his head, as they returned to normal up-right position. His cloak also bulged out in an odd fashion in the back, giving the impression of two people, one in front on the other.

"Why hello, might I enquire whether you are a teacher here?" He asked the rather cute girl that appeared as the fire faded.
