I don't know, James. I get the feeling that Shan's in danger of some sort. *She sits up and leans against the headboard* I don't know...maybe I just don't like the thought of him away from home, where I can keep an eye on him. Mithdelmar is one of the safest places in the nation, possibly in the world.

He sat up next to her,"Maybe you're right. You're more a mother to that boy than a teacher, and you know that. That is why you can't help but worry about him. It's good that you worry. And if Mithdelmar is as safe as you say it is, which I have no doubt it is, then he'll be just fine"

"I know...but I can't help it. The nightmare gets less effective by the day, so Death might try a more direct attack if he wants Shan's powers that badly."

He intertwinned his fingers with hers,"Brute force attack. It's something used by cryptographers to break codes. Death may try it, but we've got the spirit equivilant of the ultimate firewall - Haldosir. Do you think he would sit back and let Death take over Shan?"

No...but we also aren't entirely sure just how powerful Haldosir is. What if he can be broken?

Cougar wrapped his arms around his wife, and stroked her hair down her back,"We don't Rhenna. We have to trust in Haldosir, and Shan. If we can't trust in their ablity to resist, what do we have left?"

As he held her, he'd notice her trembling.

"I don't know. You said I was more his mother than anything...and mothers worry, especially when the child is away."

Warfare walked into Mithdelmar. He felt Death's presence. He headed unerringly for shan's room. Warfare made no secret of his presence, and he had his sword drawn. He walked right into Shan's room ready to strike. seeing nothing but Shan and his roommate, he asked:
"What happened? I felt the presence of Death." Warfare said.

The young Gray-Class mage sat up. "Vel'uss ph' dos?"

Shan hasn't stopped bouncing his ball off the ceiling.

"Xuat eszak bauth ol." *To Warfare* "He doesn't speak common, so I think we should use that language. Death was here...tried to talk to me...I'm a bit confused, and a bit afraid...he threatened to take me as soon as I stepped out of this city...I think he wants to enslave me, but that could just be a trick of the hour."

Well, it depends. As your decendant, are your powers naturally born within him, or does your presence give them to him?

Both. He has the ability to learn both magick and warcraft more swiftly...but in times of great danger, he will be able to summon me, myself. I was very tightly sealed before. Now... *Haldosir's eyes flash* Now, he can almost change with me at will. As to locking his magickal abilities...that is beyond my talent. You would have to ask the master of his class for permission to do that...and I believe it would put him in even greater danger. I know that my line will not extend past this child...but I would not throw him into mortal danger.

"Death cannot get into Mithdelmar. Deaths might occur, but Deth itself cannot get in here, or Shan would have been taken. Whether he wants to admit it or not, Death is actually terrified of Mith. As boring as Mithdelmar might be for Shan, it is the safest place for him. With my Children, the slivers, roaming Mithdelmar, and the surrounding area, if anything happens, Mith'll know about it before something happens. I think I will ask Mith her opinion." Warfare said.

Warfare closed his eyes, reaching out to mith, he told her exactly what happened. He also told her where he was.

M -- I'm in my room. Shan is safe for the moment, and honestly needs his sleep. I should be easy enough to find.

OOC: Just for the record, in the privacy of her own room, Mith has her mask and cloak of, and is wearing simple gray robes.

"Alright, tell your roommate what you will Shan. Mith says you need your sleep. You are safe for now." Warfare said. Warfare walks through walls and rooms in a straight path for Miths Room. He arrives there with little ceremony.
"Well, Now that we know for a fact that death wants shan's powers, we can take steps to counter this." Warfare says.

Haldosir...died the year I was born, actually. Other than putting an Anti-Death Ward on Shan, which might cause problems, I can think of little else to do aside from continuing to treat him for the nightmare, and cultivating his respect for life.

"Don't worry, I will, distract Death elsewhere. When Anna Finds my body and I reawaken as the Final Summons, it will be time for me to end this once and for all, and finaly, my son can rest." Warfare said. Aspects of his War diety Title were coming back to life.

It appears that indeed this battle will have many reprecussions.

The idea of me as Death is laughable at best. I've been working for life my entire life. But it would be good to have a less flamboyant Death. It would make my job easier, at the least.

I will a little bit, but he doesn't know that we know." Warfare says. So saying, he draws a door on a wall, and opens it. It opens to a moonlit plain somewhere. He steps through, closes the door, and it disappears. Minutse later, Death gets very distracted, and The Nightmare Attack Vanishes, without harm to Shan.

OOC: Yes, it took deaths concentration to maintain the nightmare. Mith should be able to connect the two events.

Shan's treatment for that day had already taken place...but how much longer the treatment would be needed was questionable. When the nightmares stopped, the child would be free to return home.

This spell fires three bolts of thunder at an enemy unit, killing up to tens of thousands of foes in one shot.(or three, since they fire all at once)

Health of the Dragon:
This spell increases the vitality of the target, enabling him to suffer fatal blows without flinching. Healing must take part immediately afterwards, or the target may die after the spell loses it's duration.

Emperor Slash:
This spell summons the Jade Emperor to slash a wave of negative chi to a specific location. It can wipe out potentialy many thousands of enemies, and has been used to clear away mountains.

Yin/Yang bleed:
Negative or Positive Chi may be absorbed or drained from areas or targets, empowering or crippling the recipient severely. One can change his target into a woman or man with this spell. Spells of fertility or infertility may be done with this magic power.

Spears of Thunder is a GM, Celestial Embrace would also be, if you don't have the rp skill to pull it off.

I haven't really posted the rules for the spells yet. Spears of Thunder and Emperor Slash are spells which can only be used when the chi of an area is sufficiently abundant. In order to cast the most powerful spell, Emperor Slash, you need to be in good standing with the Jade Emperor and/or honorable. So you may need to roleplay doing well and being good in order to cast it. For instance, if you risk your life constantly and sacrifice yourself, you may be able to invoke the spears or the slash.

It's still GMish. You need to dull down those two attacks.

Costh, having been wandering, decided to pay a visit to the Tower. Once there he saw the oriental, and decided to see what he did. Costh assumed a meditative stance, as he sat and watched the new mage.

Magickal energy flickered through and around the mage as she trained. Targets rose from the ground -- just rocks, really, picked up by the winds she controlled. Lightening bolts flickered from the clouds and her hands to strike her targets, and she stood on a cushion of air, her white robes whipping in the force of her winds.

Before you try to teleport, there are some concepts you have to understand.
It is among the most precise of all the spells we use. You may only ever teleport into a place you can clearly see or a place you can clearly visualize. To do otherwise can result in severe injury and/or death.

That being said, teleportation is done by summoning up the will to go from one place to another, without traveling the distance between. *She goes over to him and takes his hands* Pay very close attention to how I focus my spell energies. *She teleports them across the room.* Do you know what I did?

If I'm reading it right, and I like to think I am, then you focused your energy, concentration and willpower, on the point you wanted to go to, and then moved. That's the best explanation I can think of. It seems similar to telekinesis, but moving between space, rather than across it

It took me almost a hundred tries to teleport the apple at all...and it wound up coming about halfway.

After giving himself an hour or so to allow his energy levels to return to normal, he went back to the teleportation exercise. He would be doing this for some time yet...

"Simple, we never died. we were put into a Massive Stasis spell, us and about 2 billion other beings. Our purpose is to defend Warfare in the next war, then die. In the mean time, we simply wish to learn as much as we can." The Wizard in Gold robes said.

Rhenna's day consists of teaching and other work...but she does get in time to begin studying the book that Bahamut had given Anna to give to her.

Same for everyone, at least the first exercise is. It's hard. Took me three hundred attempts to get the apple to fall off the table. After you move it the first time, it gets easier with each passing attempt.

Same for everyone, at least the first exercise is. It's hard. Took me three hundred attempts to get the apple to fall off the table. After you move it the first time, it gets easier with each passing attempt.

Age? No, Wizards are magic users, age has nothing to do with it. Unlike Mages, wizards study other areas in addition to the one the excel at. Archwizards study all areas.

By your standard of muli-diciplines defining a wizard then I might fall under that as I have greater than average power in the realm of what my people term wild magicks." Costh replied

He fell quiet once more, and concentrated. Once again, nothing had changed,"Didn't expect anything else."

You have to expect it to come each and every time, or it won't. That's why teleportation is the hardest skill to learn.

"Well, look for yourself." Said a wizardess. She walked forward. Her robe was white, and it had various Runes drawn upon it. Costh could easily identify them as basic runes he knew, but their purpose was obvious, they identified her as a rune wizardess. She tapped Costh on the Shoulder, and suddenly he himself was wearing one almost identical to hers, except his was sown for a man, and it was sized just right for him. Made of various furs, it was soft and comfortable. Being lose, it was breezy enough to keep Costh cool in the heat, and could be drawn tight to keep him warm in the cold.

He kneaded his neck muscles,"Lets try this once more". He rose to his feet, and let the Flame burn fiercly around him. ONce more, he reached out with his mind, found the apple, and pushed his energy into trying to move the apple. In his minds eye, he saw it move from the table to his hand, but when he opened his eyes, it still hadn't moved

"Thanks." Costh said as he began flexing/stretching to get a feel for the robe.
"So do Rune Wizards were the same colours as other Wizards but with runes on them or is white the colour for runic magicks? Also these feel odd, probably because I'm not use to them." To the wizardess, "Would you mind if I see a demonstration of your rune magicks, then I'll show you my powers if you'd like."

I'll be alright for now. Another half-hour of work, then an hour out, then another hour or so working on this

Once Jovin had left, Cougar pushed himself harder than before, doing another seventy-five attempts before he begins to feel light-headed. He sits down to recover, and then stares at the apple.

"I'm going to get you, even it takes me an age," he mumbled, before going to eat and then rest in his room

Rhenna's sitting on the bed when he gets there, poring over the book in her lap. Occasionally, her fingers will tap along the outer binding, as she thinks out something the book has said.

Cougar noted Rhenna was in the room, and grabbed the journal along with a pen. He sat in the corner, trying his best not to disturb unduely, and wrote:

I've lost track of days really, so I'll go by what I know. Rhenna and I have been married just over a month now... a month to remember. It's been hard since we got back a few days ago to find time together, but we knew it would be.

Most recent hurdle: teleportation. This is going to take time. And I'm still on high-alert, so I may be called out anytime. Should be an interesting few months

It had been devised for use during lapses in torture, to recover energy and gather ones thoughts to breaking through the barrier again. This time, he used it to calm down and regain his energy for his hour of work

You're not going to get anything done if you put too much into it in one day. Especially on the first day.

That's called Situational Inertia. If an object in motion stays in motion, then a disaster in motion stays in motion until it's stopped by an outside force. That's a very difficult thing to do.

The Wizardess inscribed a rune in mid-air and vanished to the courtyard, taking everyone with them. She then proceeds to scribe a rune in mid air that erects a target a ways down the courtyard. The target is self-replicating.

"Alright, your turn." she says.

"Ok.' Costh said with smiled and used a rune on his skin to glow cause the self-replicating to begin glowing like a strobe light/disco ball, before using a different rune on his hand to fire a iceball at the target.

He smiled at her,"What would you describe it as?"

"What in the infinite layers of the abyss was that? I know about an Ice ball, but what did you do to the target?" The wizardess asks. She has no idea what a disco ball is, or a strobe light.

The Wizardess scribes a simple rune. Three seperate Lightning bolts thunder down and hit the target.

"I'm guessing from your reaction this spell didn't exist in your day. It is used at our primary magickal school as part of the decoration at dances, as well as post-grad celebrations." Costh replied as he used a used a rune to cause a pillar of flame to shoot from the sky onto a few of the targets.

OOC: You guys care if I have my new Aeromancer join in the fun?

"Ahh well. Let me show you a rune I made up myself. It spawns a creature of vast porportions, but only a master rune wizard can scribe it properly with the right amount of power." The Wizardess said.

The Wizardess scribes a complex Rune. Light blots out. A great beast of somesort walks into the courtyard. It rivals the tower in heighth. No one can see what it is. A pair of great red spots make eyes. Great feet smashed the targets, knocked holes in the walls, and destroyed local landscape. The Wizardess scribes a second rune and the beast disappears.

"That was a beast known as Grendal. Grendal, is, well, I don't really know. That's apart of the spell, the mystery." The wizardess said.

The Gold and Silver Wizards reversed time and restored the local area. Then they let it fow normally again.

OOC: Grendal really is a creature from mythology. Just Google the tales of Beowulf.

Storm clouds swirled in the center of the field, and with a spark of lightening and a resounding thunderclap, a white-robed Kaymirilian mage stood in the field.

"Who summoned the Grendel?"

While not high up in her own field, she was highly ranked enough to be permitted to check another mage's credentials.

OOC: Yes...you have to be accredited to use greater magicks, at least in Kaymiril...which is why you won't see a Black-Class mage doing cool things in public for show.

"I think I may have heard of a creature similar to that. The master of my field could probably do it but I doubt I could do it personnally, presently. I haven't created any runic spells persay, but I have mastered/created a few new rune sequences." Costh replied

" I need no credantials. I was scribing high magic Long before acrediting was even thought of. I hail from a time exactly 15 billion years ago, if Warfare is to be believed. Then again, he hasn't lied to me before so I see no reason not to believe him." The wizardess said.

Each Wizard had around their neck, the symbol of Warfare.

"Fifteen billion years ago, humanoid creatures didn't even exist," the mage begins to argue. She does not believe in these "wizards" and is not familiar with Warfare. A black figure, masked but not cloaked, teleports in beside her.

"Relax, Suaco. I will handle this."

S -- "Vedt...very well." With a swirl of clouds, she is gone.

V -- I must admit...it is unexpected, to see this many old-time mages here. Am I to guess that the final battle is upon us?

Costh, hearing the black mage get called Vedt, called up to him, "Hi Vedt, remember me?"

"Yes, then the New Reaper will ascend, I only hope that this one is a peaceful Reaper. We will not survive this battle. At least, not many of us will. Perhaps one or two monks, a cleric and a Paladin maybe. I'm surprised that Grendal took on a life of his own. I thought he only lived when I created him with my Rune.

Better that he hadn't. Then again...if he hadn't, Beowulf would never have been able to test his character.
