Quickly sizing up that this black-clad individual was possibly an authority, Jimmy snapped to a salute.
"Sir! Private third class James M. Mcginty reporting for magickal instruction! I request to learn Pyromancy, sir!"
He lowered his hand, and crossed his arms behind his back, staring straight forward.
"Ummm...yeah. First off, we're mages, not soldiers...second off...go into the Tower, and look for red-clad mages. They're the Pyromancers."
~snip~
"Only because Death respects the rights of the Dead. And you only get so many because your people's fear of death is greater than their respect for it."
There was no emotion present in the mage's voice...and no apparent shifting of power around him.
Suddenly, however, a vortex appeared underneath both of them, bumping them into a limbo-esque plane.
"Now, I give you one last chance. From here, you may return to your home without difficulty. But I will not allow your magicks to corrupt the students here. If you try to return to the Tower, I will kill you."

OOC: There are two forbidden magicks in Kaymiril: Necromancy and summoning. Both with good reasons.
IC:
The mage seemed unphased, although the energies around him finally started shifting.
His patience was waning, and fashka itself was at his complete control, to do exactly as he commanded.
"Your choice, sir."
He had heard it, but he didn't believe it. He had never, in his centuries, seen a necromantic community in anything better than anarchy, and if there was a ruler, he had to keep close control over both his underlings and his opponents.
Necromancy was not a power to be taken lightly...which is why it was forbidden...which is why any necromancers in Kaymiril were summarily executed.
Because they presented far too much of a danger to society.

A half-Eternal walked forward approaching the great college of magic. As he came closer to it he noticed how massive the building itself really was. He took note of this as it reminded him of the buildings he had witnessed on ‘Eternal’ worlds. Then he put his thoughts forward and came to the great gates of the building and using a power he had inherited from his Eternal parent knocked on the door loud enough to make sure there would be a response.
OOC: Half-Eternals are now where near even possessing a great deal of power from their Eternal parentage, but they have inherited immortality. Their immortality is very similar to that of the LOTR elves; except they are not reborn without the aide of an Eternal and that they have the choice to go to the afterlife.

"I'm joking, I'm joking." Jimmy said, grinning.
He set off for the tower that the hot chick in the black had pointed out. He walked inside to find himself in a brilliant white marble room, red-clad men and women milled about inside, some chatting to eachother, others seeking out thick leather-bound tomes, and the cocky few who stood around juggling fireballs and the like. Jimmy knew he'd have to be on his best behaivour here.
"Which one of you crackers," He yelled, both hands waving in the air "Wants to help me turn the fire from mah' belly to the fire from mah' hands?! "

The Necromancer may have believed he had dragged the mage into his realm.
What he had, in reality, was a Shadow. A copy, one crafted by a Master to appear the same as the original in every way.
It could watch, and through its eyes, he could watch.
There was one tiny difference, though, one unnoticible to any save of the mage's own class.
This copy that was walking around, saying nothing, was a focus, as well. Should the mage see anything...anything in the least wrong, he would wait until the right moment, and the Shadow would unleash a massive destructive spell...one powerful enough to level miles and miles of land and buildings so that all that might be left were patches of grass here and there. All matter would be destroyed to its very core elements, and those atoms would be scattered by the winds.
Meanwhile, the real mage stood on the plane, waiting.

He swam across the octagonal room to a submerged flight of steps, climbed up them, and made his way through an oaken door.
The next thing Jimmy remembered was falling flat on his arse in the hall where he had shamed himself.
"I apologize, I was not my intention to annoy you, just my little joke. I seek the knoweledge of how to make pyromancy my ally, if any of you so learned mages will take me as your student." Jimmy said, with sincere regret.
I sure hope they don't mind that I left an arse-print on the floor Jimmy thought desperatly as he waited for a response.

"I understand. Test me, I am ready."
Eldrad placed his fingertips on the man's forehead, sending out experimental signals. His eyes were open, but they seemed to be focusing on something in the distance, as if staring through the head on Chainer. He was searching for something that not many could see... indeed, it took great skill to see this deep in anyone. He was looking at the very DNA itself, trying to see that tiny little kink in it's workings that meant Chainer could learn this craft. After a few moments, he took his hand away, a thin veneer of crystal covering it. His soul had to leave his body to do what he had done, and it was dangerous work. He rubbed his hand softly, and then looked at Chainer,"You have the required mutation. I can teach you."
Elsewhere in the compound, Colonel Cougar, focused on teaching his own student the esscense of control, noticed the newcomers. With regard to the necromancer, he agreed with the first person he had met. Necromancy was not a magick they taught here. As for the other, seemingly-highly chauvanistic newcomer, he was little more than an annoyance, it seemed. Having already had a little incident thanks to the Blue-Class, and was now basically demanding that someone should teach him pyromancy. The human sighed, shaking his head as he twirled a small amount of fire, dancing between his fingertips.

Through some unspoken action, the pattern changed. Chainer could feel the slight difference in Eldrad's focus, as he was now linked to the Farseer. In his chest, he felt a soft push, enough to move him backwards slightly,"Did you see, and feel, what I did?"
"I saw what you did, and I certainly felt it."

The man pulled the door open, stepping aside,"Then come in, all are welcome here. Well... mostly, anyway."Alodrad bowed and then entered the White Tower. As he looked around he learned that he did not know where to go so he performed a basic spell that would lead him to his desired location.

After about a day of practicing with life energy and the control of its movement Teji felt a little tired. He had learned a lot that day. One of the most important hings probably was the fact that oly objects that have or once had life can be affected by his magick. Now that he knew how to move the magick and use it he now needed to learn how to minipulate it to preform more complex spells. that would have to wait till later though. He needed to get some rest at the moment so he went up into the tower to the room he had claimed earlier. he then sat down on the floor as the chair and bed were to small. He was going to need to do something about that. he then slept there for about an hour to rest up.

Loki had been watching the day's events from the balcony of his room. He watched a couple of newcomers arrive, as well as one being refused. He decided that for the rest of the day he would simply rest and tomorrow he would seek out a new teacher...

"there is no place in this world for your evil vampire" the warmaster said, rentching his sword our of the vampires back and returning to Death spire once more, leaving the Drow with a parting comment
"that is the first of many, look out, for they will come here first, attack here first, kill all here first, so for your sake, be on your guard" the warmaster stepped through the portal

I am going to make a nice little quest thing next week Monday. I am going to need 8 other people besides my main character. Why nine people in all? Simple. This is because nine is a very important number in Norse mythology. I intend to make a quest to save yggdrasil the life tree at the center of the universe. the people who join will each have to hunt out a magical staff of a particular trait. i will try to match them up as best as i can with your guys. these will be scattered around the universe on deserted planets. so what i need is to know who will join in the hunt. please list your characters or telegram me.

he walked backwards till hge hit a wall, at which he slid down until he sat
"if you change your mind, i am always willing to learn" he said, not knowing how they would respond to him, after his father had ruined any chance of anyone learning anything from this tower with his arrogance, but Richtor was young by normal standards, an infant by his fathers age, at 20, he had not even reached his first mellenia yet, but he felt as if the world was on his shoulders, and knew his father couldnt help him as much as the masters of Life magic at the tower could, he hoped his father would understand.

He took a deep breath, gathered his courage, and stepped inside.
He looked around, to see what he could and hopefully find someone who could help him return home. Back to the once hidden world of Ri-an.
He first would see two black-clad elvenoid mages, sitting in the open courtyard and speaking softly in their native tongue. They were male and female, with coal-black skin and stark white hair. They hadn't seemed to notice him yet, but did not seem incredibly threatening.
They were on the verge of adulthood...a good looking pair. The young male had clean features and a well-shaped face, with a friendly twist to his mouth and a mischevious twinkle in his intelligent brown eyes. The female was breath-taking, though, even for her kind. Every feature of her face and form could have been crafted by a master sculptor...indeed, it would have been hard to find such perfection of form anywhere. Her calm gray eyes glinted with merriment at what was obviously a joke from her friend.
The man knocked once more, then proceeded to enter the tower's courtyard after the other man.
"Amazing." The man said in sheer awe. "A mountain that moves and talks. No where on Ri-an do we have such a sight. Not even the walking forest compares." he said. He noticed the two Elvenoids sitting by the pool.
He had never before seen an Elf so the two mages were quite a novelty, as was Teji.
"Maybe you can help me. I seek to return to the world of Ri-an. I would return under my own power, but I am not blessed by The Lady to weild Nature. Those who were, were experimenting with moving objects from one place to another, instantaneously, with the power of nature, however the spell went wrong somehow. This was the first place I saw. Say, am I perhaps on the moon? Legends speak of a race of people living on the moon." The young man said, assuming everyone knew what he was talking about.
The young man then gasped and turned to Teji.
"I apologise. I am known as Biran." the young man said, while kneeling breifly before Teji. He then turned, and kneeled breifly before the two mages.
OOC: Brief explanation:
Ri-an is a world that hid itself long ago, and recently became unsealed. This is an IC explanation of my being new. Those blessed by the lady, are magic users. Since Ri-an has been in isolation for so long, that is what magic is known as, The Lady's blessing. The Ri-an sorcerers were just breaking into Teleportation, and had mastered it enough to not kill someone by teleporting him, or her, when the spell went awry, and the living volunteer ended up here. I hope this is enough of an explanation to help get the ball rolling, and I promise to go by the terms everyone else uses, its just that I'm getting started, so please don't get angry with me.
Oh yeah, Ri-an is pronounced Re Ann.

And you've made a better first impression than the other newcomers around here since, oh...WinterGreen or something, but he didn't stay.
IC:
The female looked at him strangely.
"There is no moon here at Hoeth, and Hoeth is not a moon...although we have many interplanetary travellers. I am Miireelta, this is Abrasth. Perhaps you can help us get you home, if you know where, and in what galaxy, universe, and plane your planet is on."
The male, identified as Abrasth, stood. "If you don't mind, I'd like to try and see what happened to you, to send you here."

Teji responds to brian softly, "there is no need to bow here brian especial not to me as i am still just starting my training. my name is Teji. Are you sure you do not want to stay a while here and try to learn some things? well what ever you decide to do good luck to you. I am off to try and find someone to help continue my training. hope to see you around." and with that he moves on to anouther section of the tower looking for someone who could help him.
Biran smiled.
"To return to Ri-an, that is my place. Teji, I have no magic to speak of. I was simply a volunteer to be the first person transported. I mean, it was amazing. They took an Apple, and it was on this Rock over here. Then, the next second, it was over here on this Rock, and it wasn't levitated. So I stood on the same Rock. They pointed at me, and everything fell away. all was darkness, then I found myself standing outside looking at this tower. I don't know what happened, but surely they would be willing to come here and learn. As to where I came from exactly, well, I hope this can help." Biran said.
He took the medallion off of his neck, and while pushing a few buttons and twisting a few small knobs, he muttered a few words that were obviously of a magic origin.
It took a few minuets for the medallion to gether enough power to activate. Everyone in the area was caught in the illusion.
The Tower fell away, as they seemed to rise in the sky. The star Hoeth orbited was turned orange. Far away, on the innermost ring of the Andromeda Galaxy, another star turned Orange. They zoomed in upon it, and saw the world of Ri-an. The atmosphere seemed to sparkle.
They were zoomed back far enough, to see Hoeth, in relation to Andromeda, and Ri-an. Then the illusion fell away.
"Strange, it usually doesn't take that long to activate. I don't have the blessing, but this medallion was crafted by those that do." Biran said.

With that, Eldrad opened the door, and walked out into the corridor, striding down it with his arms clasped behind his back, his mind in deep thought as was the norm. He looked around, and saw various spirits drifting around. They weren't real spirits, more residual energy than actual souls, but they did suffice. It was if a small part of the lifeforce was bound to the place it had died, and was fully capable of percieving it's enviroment and telling those who possessed the sight. The two Drow looked at the location of the planet, then at each other. They spoke briefly, trying to decide what it was and what could be done.
"You're an entire galaxy over from where you should be...and you're lucky you landed somewhere with comparable atmosphere for you. You could have been split apart, or you could have landed in a star, or something else as bad."
"Amazing. We can't even get out of the atmosphere, and here I am an entire Galaxy over. Then again, we do have an exorbitant amount of Mana in our atmosphere, as compared to other places. Perhaps it was something with that, but I don't know. A place such as this, is nearly powerless, compared to what I am used to. But landing in the sun, that would have been bad indeed. Is it possible to return? I mean do you have such powers, or were we blazing a new trail by our experiments? I'm not saying you can't, or that you don't, I'm just asking, because I do not know." Biran asked.

Abrasth raised an eyebrow, then disappeared.
"Teleportation is fairly easy, if you know what you're doing and have practiced it," he said from behind Biran.
"That is perhaps, why I am not of the blessed, as you are. I am a common man, with common goals, in an uncommon situation. Then, since you too can Teleport, will you return with me to Ri-an, to help us come here, and learn? Surely it must be easy to go from Galaxy to galaxy with Teleportation, as you called it. And perhaps, being a master of Teleportation, you could help us further understand Quantum Entanglement, for it is upon that, that we have based our Teleportation." Biran asked.

Miireelta shook her head.
"In order to teleport from one place to another, one has to know what it looks like...and inter-planetary teleportation is cautioned against...but from galaxy to galaxy...it's like trying to hit a target the size of your little fingernail from two or three miles away, using just a simple bow and arrow. Nearly impossible...highly so if you don't know where you're going."
"The Lake, we could go to the Lake, everyone knows what it looks like. heck, thes things come with an illusion pic of it imbedded in their memory." Biran said.
He began pushing it here, and pushing it there. and a small picture of an ocean with a giant lake floated just above Biran's medallion in his hand. The lake was calm, and clear. It was night, and impssible to tell direction, save by the single Stone island in the center, with a large pink flower bud in the center. Mountains ringed the lake, and were covered with a trees, some were moving of their own volition. Stars covered the sky.
"This is what it looks like, right this very minute. This is known as Ri-an's lake. The trees that are moving in the backround, their actually treants. and their forest kingdom is 3 leagues beyond those mountains. It has been said the the Space mambo originated here, and that they were so confused by the reflection on the lake, that they swam out into space." Biran said. He spoke quietly, and with reverence, for what to him, was a very important place.

"The consequences of this could be bad," cautioned Miireelta.
"Yeah...but now I'm curious." The Drow boy looked at Biran. "You ready?"
"Yes, always. Do I need to keep the picture going, or should I just put the medallion back on." Biran asked.
He was visably excited, both to be on the leading edge of a new age for Ri-an, and to be going home.

"Look familiar? And you can put the medallion back on."

Ri-an was far diffrent from Hoeth. The most noticible diffrence, was that there was so much mana in the air, that one could actually see it in the air, going on its on path, in and out of everything. The air sparkled with it, an effect, not visiable through the Medallion. The air was also a little thicker. the lake seemed to push Abrasth up until he was standing on its surface.
Abrasth could also feel, a a sentience in the planet it self, the planet Ri-an, was as much a living sentient being, as Abrasth, and Biran. The air swirled around Absath, an felt much like a woman hugging him, embracing him in welcome. It was easy to see where Biran got his refrences of the Lady.
Biran put the medallion back on, and pulled a small metal ball out of his pocket, and threw it into the air. It sprouted wings and became a hummingbird like creature, that flitted off.
"From here, the easiest path to walk, would be south. Also, Fire is illegal in any forest, though, since Cheif Longbranch, ruler of the Treants, made that rule, I'm sure you understand why. A ride shall be by to pick us up, soon." Biran said.
OOC: I don't know how strong Abrasth is normally, but due to the the large amounts of Mana on ri-an, it would be easy to see why he would be stronger there. The Extreme Mana amount is the largest reason why Ri-an is diffrent from all other places. At least I hope it is diffrent.

He looked around.
"Amazing...I haven't seen a place that has this much fashka around in years...and not for such a great distance. How many mages do you have here? It would be so easy to focus it all..."
He stepped off the lake and onto the ground, as the water apparently didn't wish him in it.
"It's...alive..."
"We have eight total, eight in each branch of nature. Ground, sky, Fire, water, healing, space, time, and Science, plus the one and only Ri-an sorceress, who has power over all domains, affording her access to spells the other branches cannot cast." Biran said.
The wind picked up, and began blowing through the cracks and jags of the mountains around the lake.
Biran listened intently.
For all the world, it seemed as if the wind could speak.
"M.....O.....R.....E....S.....O.....O.....N." was all it said, but then, wind couldn't really speak, could it?
"Yes my Lady, I shall inform the Eight." Biran said, speaking to the wind.
"Appearently, The Lady has decided to bless us with more." Biran said to Abrasth.
He walked south, towards a cave entrance. he isnpected it carefully, looking at the stalactites, and stalagmites carefully.
"Its okay, this one is not Rock Wurm." Biran said, heading through the tunnel.
It was dark, but then, Biran did not seem to care. His Medallion glowed, and a single beam of light lit the way for them.

Abrasth didn't mind the darkness. He could see better in the dark than in the light.
"It's amazing...your planet lives with you and cares for you. Most other planets are, at best, apathetic. It's amazing, too...so much fashka lying around...and so few that can weild it...we have many mages in my land, and my Master is one of the greatest of them all."
"As you said, The lady lives with us, and cares for us, as we live with her, and care for her. We have never had much need of magick, and thus, have probably progressed slowly in comparison. The Lady has always cared for us, clothed us, Fed us, given us water. She protects us from the moon during its time of evil, and finally, when we die, takes us into her bosom, where we can rest forever. Tonight will be a grand celebration indeed, for I am returned unharmed, and you are irefutable proof, that we are not alone in the universe, you prove that teleportation works, and that we enter a grand new age. Tonight, on the same night every year, we honor The Lady, and all that she has done for us. Maybe, just maybe, you will see her." Biran said. The tunnels end was ahead, and beyond, many Treants moved about, appearently in preperation for something.
A platform was also moving towards them. It stopped, and set down just infront of them. A man stepped off.
"Captain Biran, Father, we thought you lost. But you return. And with a another, but wait, what is he, is he the Shadow Lord, from the moon? Did you truely go to the moon, as we thought you did? Is this the legendary brother of The Lady?" the man asked excitedly.
"Jiran, my son, calm down. I have been to the Cousin, and there I visited the World of Hoeth. This man is going to take the eight with him, and teach them how to truely use their powers." Biran said.
Biran turned to Abrasth.
"Abrasth, my son, Jiran, Captain of the Third Division of Ri-An's Army. I am Captain of the first. The Army is in place, to protect against the many monsters born of the Mana. Treants are one of them, but we have a peace agreement, several generations old. Jiran, this is Abrasth, a Wise man from a White Tower." Biran said.
"A pleasure." Jiran said.

The young mage chuckled nervously, running his hand through his thick white hair.
"Sorry...I seem to have given off a wrong impression. I'm just an apprentice mage from Kaymiril...and my sister gives me the impression that I'm very unwise indeed."
He straightened up suddenly, before making a small bow, spreading his arms out. "Gre'as'anto lu' verve dro."
He'd been so curious and excited before that he'd forgotten his manners.
"As your father said, I am Abrasth, of Kaymiril."
"The Blessing of the lady upon you, now can we get out of here, the place is positivly crawling with slyphers, and you know how they like the Lake." an impatient Young Lady said from the strange platform.
Biran chuckled.
" I apologise, for as I said, I know nothing of that sort. And, Marill, your the Sorceress, for cryin out loud. Your afraid of Slyphers?" Biran asked with a grin.
"Yeah, yeah, save it for later. i don't want our first guest to get eaten, might look bad upon us, ya know?" The young woman named Marill said.
"Ok, ok. Abrasth, after you. This is the ride I spoke of earlier. And this young Lady, is the Sorceress, High Preistess of Lady Ri-an." Biran said, waiting for Abrasth to step on the platform.
The Platform consisted of a metal plate, weilded to a biug glass box, housing odd looking machinery.
"This is a Hoverform. It feeds off the Mana in the air, and takes us anywhere. Their quite popular." Biran said.

The young mage had started at the name of the sorceress, but stepped onto the platform.
"Gre'as'anto lu' verve dro, ussta Jalil. Your name is similar to the name of our Royal House. And we have devices very similar to this."
He took a small silver cylinder from his sleeve, tapping it gently on one side. It unfolded into a medium-sized bird, which landed on his shoulder and chattered at him.
"Meet Velve." He looked around. "By the way...what is a slypher?"
"A slypher, it is the worst of the beasts. Magic does not harm it, yet it is very hard to get close with weaponry. It is very big about the size of a common dwelling house. it has six legs, two of which, it uses to fight with. It is covered in scales, with a mouth like a spider. Its scales protect it from projectiles. Fortunatly, few of them exist. Usually, the eyes of Ri-an, a Sorcerer whose power manifests strongest in space, summons a big space rock, or I do. The same as a Royal house ehh, pretty intresting. If you choose to follow on your Velve Bird, the City of Namir is an hours ride away, if you keep up with us. Otherwise, its south by south west, on the outer edge of the Treants. Can't miss it. Its Ri-an's biggest city. Other wise, hop on." Marill said. She waited for a few seconds for Abrasth to make up his mind, then she muttered a few words to the Platform, and it rose off the ground, and took off, going at a speed equeal to 60 Miles per hour.

The mage wasn't so rude as to refuse a ride offered by his hosts, and was on the hovercraft before the lady had finished speaking.
"We are trained in combat in my city...but it would be a shame to shed blood on a planet of which I have no understanding."
As they sped away, the Mana in the air twitched, and a Slypher jumped down behind them, in a pounce.
Marill sped away.
"So then, why do you think Biran ended up at your tower?" Marill asked.
Kaymiril
01-02-2006, 02:53
"Sheer dumb luck. No offense, ussta Jalil...but your sorcerers know little of teleportation. Maybe one of them was visualizing a tall white tower, or maybe the fluctuations in fashka in and around the Tower acted as a zipper and pulled him in once your sorcerers lost him."
He looked over his shoulder at a slypher. "That reminds me of something...but what, I don't remember."
"I Think it was Mana, because I was the one Teleporting him. I was not envisioning a large white Tower, i was envisioning the smooth flat stone he was supposed to be on. However, the second I willed him to Teleport, The Mana here, well, the closest I can describe it is, Jerked violently, as though it was throwing something. The next thing we know, he's no where on Ri-an. And now here he is, with a story of a far away White Tower." Marill said.
OOC: what does Ussta Jalil mean, as well as everything else Abrasth has said? I understand its probably Drow, but, does it come with a translation, or do I guess?

"Then you must have lost control somewhere, ussta Jalil. He's lucky to have come out intact."
OOC: Gre'as'anto lu' verve dro = peace and long life, formal Kaymirilian greeting.
Ussta Jalil = My Lady. Again, formal/respectful for an obvious female authority figure.
OOC: Okay, thanks.
IC: "I don't know. Either way, I'm Glad my Father is home, safe and sound." Marill said.
"Please, we both know that the second we discovered you were chosen to be the next Sorceress, after Lord Rath Passed on, I stopped being your Father." Biran said, sternly, though pleased at the acknowledgement.
"It still doesn't change the fact that by blood, you are my Father." Marill said.
The forest of Treants beneath them was in a great hustle and bustle, getting ready for the most important celebration of the year.
Normal forests sway in the breeze, this one was stirring up a breeze.

Abrasth looked at Biran.
"Tell me, if you would please...what is your role among your people?"
"As I said earlier, I am captain of the first Division, I lead 250 men and women in battle, against the beasts that roam this planet, seeking to harm us. As captain of the first Division, I am the third highest ranking member of Ri-an's Military. Second highest is General Krill, a Mean tempered old man, and the highest ranking member, and therefore Ruler of Ri-an, is Marill, my daughter." Biran said.
They began to reach the edge of the Treants. a large city was spread out. It was surrounded almost entirely, by a glowing blue Crystal wall.
The City of Namir was waiting below.
In one Section, the section furthest south, was a bunch of houses. In another section, in the East, was a minor industrial section, with a weak commercial section intermingled with a palce made entirely out of Coral. At least, the outside was.

"Do not apologise, how would you have known otherwise. I imagine that we would need your help, were we to go among your people." Biran said.
They sat down in the city center. a whole crowd was gathered. The adults were silent with shock at actually seeing Abrasth, the teenagers sulked at having to be there at all, preferring to be elsewhere hanging out with their friends, and the Children, almost as one, let out a chorus of wows.
Most asked their parents what Abrasth was, one child started crying, and still another asked her parents if he was a monster.
Marill cleared her throught, her voice could be heard easily.
"My brethren, Our Mother, The Lady Ri-an, Brings us a Visitor from a far away place. his name is Abrasth, let us welcome him as a Brother. an tonight, let us give thanks to The Lady, for returning Captain Biran to us alive." Marill said.
The crowd cheered.
"And now, I hope he will forgive me for, suddenly putting this upon him, but let us hear a few words, from Abrasth, our brother from far away." Marill said.
All eyes turned to Abrasth.
"Speak, you will be heard." Marill said.
The wind blew softly. It seemed even Lady Ri-an was anxious to hear his thoughts on his being here. Even the clouds pulled back to let the setting sun shine upon the city.

"Gre'as'anto lu' verve dro," he began, when he remembered that they didn't speak Drow here. "Where I come from, that's a wish for peace and long life. I would like to thank your Jalil Marill as well as L' Jalil Ri-an for the warm welcome I have recieved in this your land."
He looked around.
"I don't really know what to say...I'm an apprentice mage from Kaymiril, and was glad to bring your Captain back to his homeland. I understand that your nation is new to going out and meeting other peoples, and can tell you that while most of them will give you peace for peace, others will attempt to conquer you, especially as beautiful and rich as this planet is. But these are matters for other days, and other company. Thank you for your attention, and enjoy your festival."
Phraktos d' vhid, I hope I didn't screw that up.
Most nodded thoughtfully at his words of other peoples. Then they all gave a good hearty cheer as he finished.
"Well, what more is there to say, Enjoy the festival, and don't forget the Dance of Ri-an tonight. We mustn't forget the best part of the holiday." Marill said. The Crowd gave another Cheer, and dispersed. Only a few remained. The Mana in the air swirled around them.
They were the Ri-an Sorcerers.
They moved forward as one, and gave Abrasth a formal bow.
The oldest one spoke up.
"Welcome, Abrasth of Kaymiril. I am Nalre, I am the Sorcerer of Science and Energy." Nalre said.
" I am Jale, Sorcerer of Winds and Lightning." said the sorcerer next to him.
"I am Fiera, sorceress of Fire." Said the middle aged woman next to him.
"I am Dryah, Sorcerer of Water" Said the Man next to her.
"I am Roser, Sorcerer of Ground." Said the younger gentleman next to him.
"I am Tiel, Sorceress of Healing." Said the young woman on the end.
"I am Shron, Time Sorcerer." said the young man on the other side of Nalre
" And I am Laet, Sorceress of Space." Said the young woman next to Shron.
"We are the Council of the Eight, and it is because of us, that Lady Ri-an lives." said Nalre.
"Not quite, but that's a theoligical argument for another time." Marill said.

The young man smiled nervously.
"Well, I can't claim to be familiar with your religion. I wish not to intrude upon your holiday, so if you like, I can be on my way home."
"If that is your wish." Nalre said.
"Ahh, but you must help me go to Hoeth tomorrow Abrasth, I wish to learn of the outside worlds for my people." Marill said.
"Are you sure?" Nalre asked.
"Yes." Marill said.
"But who will lead our people?" Nalre asked.
"What good is a ruling council, if it doesn't rule?" Marill asked.
But all of that seemed to be fading away.
Another voice crept into Abrasth's mind. It was as soft and as gentle as a whisper, and completly unignorable.
"Abrasth. Aaaaabrrraaaassssthhh. Come Abrasth, back to the Lake, to the center. I call you to my side. Come!" said the voice in his mind.
Everything fell into darkness, as Abrasth was teleported away.
Abrasth found himself face to face, with a woman kneeling upon what was now a giant pink flower, in the center of the lake he and Biran originally started at.
Vines and leaves were tangled in her hair. For garb, she wore a dress seemingly maid of roses, chained together, faading into a dress of leaves, seemingly woven together.
"Abrasth, This year I choose you to bear my message to my children. I am Lady Ri-an, and I ask that you help me lead those who dwell upon me into a new age. Long have I kept my children hidden, but no longer can it be so. It was I, who caused Biran to end up at the tower far away. I could feel much Magic done there, by many races. Take my Daughter Marill, and have the masters Teach her what they know. Take my Children, and wether by you, or by those you call master, lead them into the company of nations, for their own good. I too, will go, for no longer, can I return to my Planetary Body, and must needs learn a new way of living. Eventually, my Planetary body will die, and so then will my children, unless you help me, and take Marill with you, to learn. I will establish a link, between this point, and a great tree that shall grow outside hoeth, to allow for easy transport between Ri-an, and Hoeth." Lady Ri-an said. She seemed weaker than a newborn child, and yet was stronger than steel.

Teji was not so easily moved as a rude chainer soon found out. he had been too late any how. Teji ofcourse moved aside as soon as he felt the pressure and turned around. He saw eldrad in the back of the courtyard. he then walked to Eldrad hoping for further training or if Eldrad was not in the mood atleast what type of mage he should look for to help him.
Chainer left the room as well, heading down to the courtyard... He saw the one from before, and the two Dark Elves, as well as a new person. Someone he had never met. He shoved Teji, forcing him to move out of his way, so he could introduce himself.
The man watch the other shoved another man out of his way as he headed toward him. Figuring the man was in a rush, he stepped out of the way so he could go on his way.

Hmm... He is weak... He gives way before his betters, instead of trying to secure his own space. Do I really need to Tag him so badly as all that?
Chainer contemplated the man who would eventually become the newest addition to his Dementia Space, and waited.
Seeing the fact that he appeared to be the destination of the man, the hooded head faced the man's and gave the impression of looking him in the eyes, thought because of the way his vestments were designed, he could have been looking at almost anything else.

Everything went blinding white. Suddenly it seemed as if the whole nation was there, it was obvious they had just completed their celebration. Much time had passed in the space of a few seconds.
Marill and the Sorcerers looked at Abrasth expectently, the rest if Ri-an now veiwed him as a short term holy man. After all, not everyone got chosen to bear the lady's message.

Eldrad watched as Brian and Abstrath vanished from sight, and sighed gently,It is good that he was able to return home that fast... if only I had a home to truly return to
Meanwhile, he frowned as he saw Chainer's manners... he feared he had seriously misjudged him... he was behaving erratically, being rude and discourteous. It would do to watch the situation from where he sat, and so he did. He simply sat, watching calmly.

"It is the wish of your Lady that I take the Sorceress Marill back with me to learn. You are beginning to move into a new age, one of interaction with outside peoples. She also said that she herself will come and move on with you. This planet is dying...and unless you move onward, you and your Lady will die with it."
"Come then. let us go." Marill said.
Lady Ri-an and Marill both gripped Abrasth by the arms.
"Let there be a point forever linked between Ri-an and the far tower of white where the mages dwell. Let those of Ri-an and those of hoeth come and go between these two worlds as the please." Lady Ri-an said in a voice that echoed accross the world.
A great wind stirred up. Clouds boiled and grew angry. Lightning struck the moutain tops and the water boiled and swelled upon itself.
Lady Ri-an threw arm upward, and the three of them went flying away.
Suns, planets, nebulas, even worlds passed by in an instant, swirling around them.
They landed outside the tower. Lightning struck the ground behind them, and from the spot grew a tall tree, its many branches ending in vines, and hanging down.
"And so, here we are, apprentice Abrasth. Tell me, where are these masters, those better than you, of which you speak. From whom can we learn, of the outside world?" Lady Ri-an asked abrasth, relinquishing his arm, and Marill doing the same.
The tree seemed to glow, just a little bit.

"Should I, mention you, in refrence, or, what do I say?" Marill asked.

She nodded her head politely, and then entered the tower in search of mages wearing grey.
She figured she must look odd, wearing a robe of brown, with bolts of lightning on it, running downward, from her front left, to her rear right.
Either way, it mattered not. She thought she would have been given books to read, really her favorite form of learning, but meeting someone new was always a pleasure.

Chainer was quickly growing tired of this fool. Too stupid to recognise the danger he was in. His eyes flashed black, his anger finally getting the better of him, and the beast he had previously Summoned returned at his call once again, followed swiftly by a thick, dense fog, it concealed everything but a small clearing in the center from the naked eye of man, and most lesser forms of divination. He found himself reluctant to use the Warp Magicks he had so recently learned from Eldrad, they were powerful, but he felt that intimidation would be safer than attack. "I told you to leave me... "Of course it's divination. In your entrails I can see your death..." His time was up, he was still in the circle, and the massive...thing attacked him. Even a scratch from its claws would be fatal due to poison and disease, and its breath could kill, a fact aptly demonstrated as a beam of decay shot from its mouth. Whatever it struck, so long as it had once lived, would rot away as thousands of millenia passed in an instant.
His right hand came up, shed of cloth. The six fingered hand that was garbed in a gauntlet covered in gems that were set in such a way as to give an insectish appearence. A shield interposed itself from the hand, diverting the noxious gases harmlessly to either side. The Beast gave him no chance to run, there was no escape. The beam of decay lashed out again, striking for the weakling again.
Chaners eyes flashed black again, summoning a different beast to his aid, taller than the last, and similar to the first only in being humanoid. It was followed by a second similar creature, and then a third, they were almost like massive Snake Men, but they had barbed tentacles for arms, and massive blades of bone jutted from another set of tentacles on their backs. They were numerous enough and powerful enough that they would not be stopped by this aggravating person...

OOC: They're rather hidden within an extremely thick and dense fog. You could comment on the "WTF???" Fog, but the battle is effectively invisible.
OOC: Her comment was not from the current status of the battle, but from before hand, when you and Theao were simply arguing. If she had been able to see through the fog, she would have first asked what those creatures are, and where they came from. Because you two were arguing, it is not hard to guess that you two are currently fighting inside that fog bank, I have been trying to think of a way to leave the conversation with Kay's mage politely all day, since it is obviously at an end. and thirdly, no Ri-an has a concept of arguing. it is either fighting, or it is peaceful talking. Her question is from a cultural point of veiw.
I do not wish to pretend to do that which is impossible, even with magick, and I hope you will forgive me this, this time.
Also, what is the warp?

Marill is a common first name where I come from. we spell it M, A, R, I, L, L, it is intresting, that so far apart, one can find the same name. perhaps i have a twin out their somewhere as well." Marill said.
"Why do you not know whether or not you have a twin?"
OOC: You posted with him catching the chain first. Then, AFTER he'd made his post, you changed yours, in reaction to what happened.
This is cheating. You can't take back something simply because you don't like the result. It isn't good rp, and it isn't respectible.
Get a spine, get a brain, wimp.
ooc: I know that taking something back is cheating. We were talking in MSN, he pointed out the error in my assumptions(That he was using it whip-like rather than swinging it). Prior to my knowladge that MM had posted, I edited my post to conform to the information I'd received in IM.
"Why do you not know whether or not you have a twin?"
"Well, I wasn't born with one, as far as I know. my father was an honest man, and my mother, well, I never knew my mother so, I hope she was honest. Its just that someone once had the theory, that if even three other stars in the universe held life, and that if we resembled them, or, they resembled us, that each and every one of us had a twin look-a-like. Since we share the same general form, with minor diffrences that can be attributed to species, it is possible, that maybe somewhere in Kaymiril, I have a twin, or maybe elsewhere." Marill said.
The chain halted, for a moment, then it continued to play out, whipping towards his arm in an attempt to wrap around it like an iron constrictor...
"What'll it take for you to stop bothering me? He asked as he tried to catch the head of the chain in the gauntleted hand.

"Ah...a look alike. You find that in populations that are high enough. My mother saw an Aeromancer about my age some decades back, and asked him what he was doing out of his Healers Robes. It happens."
"heh, I hope they had a good laugh over it. Some decades, are all mages long lived, or are all drow long lived?" Marill asked.

Mithdelmar was busy, but Ri-an's guide led her through it deftly, eventually leaving her in the care of another, higher-ranking mage, who, after some time, led her to an office.
"Mith will be in to see you when he is finished with his latest surgery. Would you like anything, in the meanwhile?"

The Chain was snagged, and it moved like lightning. Wreapping it self around his wrist and beginning to act like a chainsaw, directed at the wrist and armor of the man who had been foolish enough to sieze it...
"Are you prepared to leave me be now? Or must I remove your hand?"
"I have nothing against leaving you alone." He replied as the chain began sending off massive amounts of sparks, but with no visible effect on the gauntlet.

"Then just turn away, when you do, the blades will stop."
The Blades were actually becoming shgarper as they spun, soon they would be a true monomolecular edge, capable of slicing through Terran ACs, this simple hand would be no contest.

"Intresting. Most Ri-ans live an average of one hundred years. Every Ri-an sorcerer has lived exactly five hundred years, from birth to death, no more, no less. In fact Nelre, the Sorcerer of Scientific magic, has exactly 5 days left to live. He will die, on his birthday, at 6:53 P.M." Marill said.

"I am fine, thank you." Lady Ri-an said.
She looked at her dress.
"Is there perhaps a skilled dress maker I could call upon later? I fear I must retire this one. The roses are beginning to develop seeds, others start to wilt." Lady Ri-an said.
"And what are the odds you won't attack me in the back when I do?" He asked as the blades just continued to send showers of sparks off the gauntlet.

The Chosen was a mage's top apprentice...specifically, the one chosen to succeed the Master after his or her death.

“I had hoped they would come to their senses before I had to do something but I see that is impossible. Oh well, I did give them a chance. Please excuse me, work to do and heads to beat.”
Eldrad felt his presence leave him.
Suddenly everything around the two combatants stopped. All magic suddenly failed as if it did not exist. Even the null magic of the chain device faltered.
“How dare you sully the halls of the White Tower with your petty hormonic arguments? Everyone knows the rules when they applied to enter these walls. I find your two behaviors completely disrespectful and I will not permit it to happen in these walls.”
A sphere of energy sprung into existence around the two combatants. The spheres floated into the air. Galvenor faded into view standing between them. His face was so full of anger that it would make even a Demon Lord hesitate. His eyes were cold. They exhibited none of the kindness nor caring that usually resided within, instead they were cold black endless pits of dread. Any who looked in them too long found them experiencing fear for their very soul.
“Your idiotic actions are endangering the lives of my students. Your thoughtlessness is disturbing classes. You are pissing me off.”
Galvenor looked at each of them before continuing.
"I have every right to not only throw you out of the school, but I could even toss you off the world, leaving you powerless wandering somewhere lost. This will accomplish nothing for you two would eventually find each other and endanger someone else with your barely controlled emotions.”
Galvenor paused for a moment.
“As Master of the White Tower, I sentence both of you to enter the Arena. One of you will not leave and the other will be forever banished from returning. This is to be carried out immediately.”
Suddenly the two spheres and Galvenor disappeared. Several students rushed to the Arena to see what was happening. They could see Galvenor standing in the center of the Arena and the two ex-students at their appropriate ends, still contained in their prisons.
“You will either fight to the death, with the survivor being banished by my hand, or you will stop this stupidity. The choice is yours.”
Galvenor vanished and reappeared in the stands behind the Anti-Magic barriers. The spheres disappeared, dumping their occupants unceremoniously upon the Arena floor.
“Make your decision now.”
OOC:
Same rules as before. The Arena is protected by Anti-Magic barriers erected by BelDragos, The Elder God of Magic. Nothing you do will carry through. You will need to walk out of the Arena if you wish to leave. Galvenor ported out because he is not only considered a High Priest of Beldragos, but he is also the Master of the White Tower.
The standard rules for duel are dismissed, so the battle you wanted is a no holds barred, other than nothing goes through the barriers. The floor is also protected as well as the area above the Arena.
You are being given one last chance to avoid the battle. If you settle your differences before the fight starts, then you will both be allowed to leave, otherwise it is to the death with the winner being banished.
"Chosen? Ahh, yes, his successor. Nelre, is the last of his type, unless Lady Ri-an has hidden a successor elsewhere." Marill said with a note of regret.

"Good. Then perhaps Mith will have someone escort me to one later." Ri-an said.
"If those are my options, then my choice is to stop." The man replied, "I also apologise for my irresponsible actions."

"Good. Then perhaps Mith will have someone escort me to one later." Ri-an said.
"Well...Science is hardly magick...although the two can be combined, in some instances. But it's a risky thing, putting a raw mage into a position of power, especially when he or she has no idea what is supposed to be done, or how the power is supposed to be controlled."

The mage nodded, leaving Ri-an to her own devices for the time being.
OOC: w00t! Way to lay down the law, Bal!
"Ahh, but we are not truely ever alone. The lady, she speaks to us, protects us, clothes us, feeds us, gives us water. We are as dependant on her, as she is on us. It is her that chooses all Sorcerers of Ri-an, it is her that teaches us, gives us training. It probably seems strange to you, because you have grown up with a diffrent method. But it seems strange to me, to have great numbers of mages, and training them all from birth. Then again, who knows where we would have been, in another 1,000 years." Marill said.

Ri-an sat there. she was used to being alone. She reached out with her mind,to see if Kaymiril had a spirit like her, to see if she was the only one of her kind, other than him, or if indeed, every planet had a guardian spirit.

OOC: And her I thought Chainer'd get the chance to show off some of his truly nasty nightmares... And kill something.
IC:
Chainer nonchalantly twirled his chain... His nightmares were his stock in trade, and his greatest fears were his weapons. Those eyes held no terror for him... "If he is willing to leave me be, I will not kill him. If he persists in annoying me, then we may be forced to return here, and you will be forced to clean up the smear that remains when I am finished."

"Then you will feel the effects of BelDragos' Metamagical Scourge right before I banish you. Let it rest or there will be more than a single smear to clean up."
Galvenor looked down at the person standing defiantly before him.
"A word or advice, know what you are addressing when you speak. Your ignorance will be your own undoing.”
Galvenor let his words sink in for a few seconds.
“You can go. Remember Chainer, even nightmares can have nightmares. Be careful what you look for because one day you will find it staring back.”
The man nodded his assent, and then proceeded to aproach the one who'd claimed to be the Master of White Tower. "Sir, who might I talk to if I wished to find a teacher?" He asked
Loki had heard and felt the commotion as he walked through the tower in search of a teacher. He was quite curious as to what was causing it and what would happen next, so he proceeded to find the origin of the disruption.
However, when he arrived both participants had been cooling down, apparently frightened into submission by one of the more powerful occupants of the Tower. Seeing that many had gathered to witness the spectacle, including many instructors, Loki went about searching for his next teacher.
"Excuse me," he said politely to one of the teachers he saw, "I was wondering if you would be able to teach me some of what you know... that is if you have the time and patience."
OOC: Whichever of you wants to be the teacher Loki approached is fine.

Waving his hands in a broad gesture Galvenor indicated the crowd of both students and instructors who had gathered to witness the event.
"If you want to be instructed in the ways of Power, you must first convince one of these instructors you are worth their time. Today was a prime example of how not to go about that. Good luck."
Galvenor faded from view and reappeared next to Eldrad.
The man nodded his assent, and headed into the crowd, looking for one who was an instructor.

OOC: Worked out my grand entrance. Yes, I'm in the mood to put on a show. Does the tower have a parking lot?
IC: The S.S. Freedom's Ransom (http://www.ussmiranda.com/images/ships/sabrewolf1.jpg), a Sabrewolf class escort owned and commanded by Isaac McFly, a distant cousin of the SeaQuestian Emperor, emerged from a Hyperspace Jump Point in orbit of the planet on which the famed White Tower was located. The ship eased into the planet's atmosphere and began heading ground-ward.
The plasma created from atmospheric entry blazed off the sparkling bubble of the ship's shields. By the time the Freedom's Ransom had broken through the cloud layer, the plasma flames had already died out.
The ship came swooping over the landscape on an approach vector towards the Tower Of Hoeth (OOC: According to the first post in the thread, that's the actual name of the White Tower). She extended her landing struts and set down in a field just large enough for her a few minutes walk down the road from the Tower. A section of the ship's ventral area slid open and a ramp descended to the ground.
OOC: Character intro in next post, when I'm more awake.
