Well, they tell me I'm a goddess, they say I'm Warfare's daughter, but I just don't know. They say I look alot like him too. I mean, just because I can see a special tapestry in my dreams doesn't mean anything, right? So what if it can show me the fates of any person, that doesn't mean I'm a fate Goddess, does it?" Gypsy asks.

Roy lends a hand in taking down the camp.
Kaymiril
30-05-2005, 20:59
"The Tapestry of Fate?" The mage looks off. "Resa...can you take her?"

T'puuli's Chosen, Resa, walks down. "The Tapestry of Fates...well, it makes you semi-clairvoyant at the least...but fate may or may not be your domain."

When camp is taken down, they eat breakfast, and then head on their way.

30-05-2005, 21:15
Roy follows along. He's always kinda silent after telling a story.

"Well, I want to do more, but, whenever I think about helping a person out, something holds me back, almost like a warning. Once, I pulled a loose strand out, and three really scary women appeared. They called themselves the Fates. They yelled at me for well over three days straight about messing with what they called The Tapestry of Fate. But I was just helping an innocent young boy avoid getting eaten alive." Gypsy says, shuddering at the memory.
Kaymiril
30-05-2005, 21:25
They head on to Breval. There seem to be quite a lot of entertainers gathering there.

"How was I supposed to know, I only just found out today that I am a goddess. All I knew was, I could help the boy avoid a bad ending. What was I suppossed to do, sit and consider the consequences? If you saw somebody about to get eaten, wouldn't you try and help them?" Gypsy asks.

"What's the big gathering here for?" Roy asks.
Kaymiril
30-05-2005, 21:32
Rs -- Of course...but I am a mortal...different rules apply. I have less power, so there are things I cannot do.
*******************************************************************
A -- The Festival of Song. All bards from across Kaymiril gather here every ten years to share their talents and appreciate the talents of others during a four-day-long festival.
Warhaven
30-05-2005, 21:34
"Fun." Roy says.

"It's just not fair, I have the power to help others, but I can't use it?" Gypsy asks, frustratred.
Kaymiril
30-05-2005, 21:38
Rs -- How about I take you to Hoeth? There are things that show some of the rules the gods must follow there.

OOC: And Rahegalhoff is there to be like "OMG, she looks like Warfare."
**************************************************************
S -- Very much so.
Warhaven
30-05-2005, 21:40
"I think I'll join in on the fun." Roy says.

"Sure." Gypsy says.
Kaymiril
30-05-2005, 21:43
S -- Sure...But make sure to just spend a lot more time enjoying preformances than you do preforming.

Resa takes Gypsy to Hoeth, and starts leading her to the library.

As the funny sliver wasn't doing anything Costh had headed toward the library to read a good book, as he walked there he met Gypsy "Hello again."
Warhaven
30-05-2005, 22:05
"Hi." Gypsy said. She stared at the books. She still had no idea how to read. She picked one at random, and pretended like she could. Never mind that the book was upside down, and she was going from right to left instead of left to right like the book was written.

The archwizards stared at Gypsy. The turned and talked quietly to themselves. They went and told Rahegalhoff about the young woman that looks like Warfare. Could it be? His lost daughter?

Rahegalhoff left the archwizards with the alien sliver, and went to Gypsy.

"Pardon me, but, do you know who your father is?" he asks.

"No, I'm told its some God by the name of Warfare, but I don't know." Gypsy says.

"Well, I'm Rahegalhoff, his favored paladin. Why don't you know who your father is?" He asks.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Gypsy. I'll tell you after I'm done reading this section." She says, still wanting to appear that she knew what she was doing.

"Oh, what's the book about?" Rahegalhoff asked.
"The rules of the Gods." Gypsy says.
"Really, what are some of the rules then?" Rahegalhoff asks.
"Uhh, umm, I don't remember." Gypsy says a ;little flustered.
"You have the book in front of you, why not flip back and look? I know, just tell me the one your reading about now." Rahegalhoff says, knowing full well she couldn't read by the way she held the book.
"Its about why we can't interfere with mortal lives." Gypsy says.
"Ohh that's a good one, did you get to the section that explains why?" He asks.
"Ohh fine, I don't know how to read okay? Some Queen in a place called Kaymiril promised to teach me to read, but sent me away to learn about my powers under another mage first. That mage took me here to read the books on the laws of magic never knowing I couldn't read." Gypsy says angrily.
" I knew you couldn't read all along. That book is really on 50 ways to cook a vizzerdrix. Besides, you were holding the book wrong." Rahegalhoff says.
"Fine, so you want to hear my story, well, alright, here it goes." Gypsy says.
She launces into a sad tale of her life as a slave, and never knowing who her parents were.

**********************************************************
"Oh, don't worry, someday you'll all have to come to the Barding competition on New Ephseus. Its a three month celebration of Bards and their skills. Each month is a diffrent competition: Troop, duo/small group, and then finally single Bard performances." Roy says.
Kaymiril
30-05-2005, 22:09
Sounds like fun, but this isn't a competition in the least.

*A different bard group calls over to Arel, who goes and joins them.*

Seera chuckles. "They always seem to want just one more member to pull a stunt...Arel's our stuntswoman...she can do anything."

OOC: It isn't Anna's fault that she didn't WAIT for the tutor to teach her to read.

Costh sat down near Gypsy and opened a book, one eye on the book the other on the Rahegalhoff and Gypsy .
Warhaven
30-05-2005, 22:35
OOC: Hey, that's just how Gypsy feels. She's very confused at the moment and trying very very hard unsuccessfully to deal with it all. Live it all to Rahegalhoff, he'll straighten it all out, trust me. She's on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

IC: "Now, aren't you glad your free?" Rahegalhoff asked.
"No. At least as a slave I didn't have to deal with all this." Gypsy says with a tear.
"That's just a part of life. There are things we have to deal with that are hard to take. It seems harder because you haven't experienced freedom yet. Your confused because thus far, everyones still telling you what to do while saying that your free. We're just trying to give you the basic tools neccessary to help you deal with freedom. Writing is a part of that, as is reading. We want you to learn what powers you have, and how to control them so you don't end up killing yourself, or someone else. Remeber Mith, the nice man in grey that healed you, would you really want to accidentally harm him?" Rahegalhoff asked.
"No." Gypsy says.
"Well, there you go. Do it for Mith, so you don't harm him. In my daily prayers to Warfare, I mentioned you after Kaymiril VII told me about you. He's excited, as are we, because you are his daughter. That, I can promise you, for a fact. Your heratidge is with the gods themselves. I'll let him tell you everything, but remember, your troubles are over, your safe now." Rahegalhoff says.

A group of three slavers enter looking for Gypsy and her former owner. The archwizards point at them and turn them into donkeys. A fitting turn of events. The slavers are now gone from Gypsy's life for good.

"So, can you help me then?" Gypsy asks.
"Well, let me explain the rules of the Gods to you. I myself am a half-God, because of Warfare's favor. I know all the rules, so I'll tell them to you." Rahegalhoff says.
He launches into a speel about the rules, and explains each and every one of them in full detail.

**********************************************************
"I don't doubt that she could do anything." Roy says. He walks along, looking at all the diffrent groups.
Kaymiril
30-05-2005, 22:42
The groups are doing anything the mind can come up with, and then some. There's music, drama, fire-eating, ribbon-dancing, groups, solos, everything.
The troupe Arel joined with does stunt after impossible stunt, one after the other, without missing a beat.
Mini Miehm

"yes, yes I see." Roy said, he whipped out a notepad, and started taking notes.

Gypsy followed Mith.

Back in the tower, Rahegalhoff was watching the monks fight Cougar.

"A sliver, what are you doing here? Oh, wait, your not from Warhaven, Where the duce are you from?" He asked.

OOC: been busy killing stuff, sorry everybody.

IC:

Greetings to you, Rahegalhoff, follower of Warfare, God of Warhaven, We are the emissary of the young queen of Miehm, although we do not understand this "deuce" of which you speak.

The emissary waited until the strange man had stopped following them, then they decided that following him may be a wise course of action to take, their decision made they moved after him towards the library.

Roy walks to an empty section. He has an idea, possibly the never heard this style of music before. He prays real hard to Warfare to send him the system he needs and the sounds to accomplish this performance. Despite being on Honeymoon, Warfare is nice enough to give Roy what he wants, it appears in a bag of holding, a large, bag of holding.

Roy gets all excited, and sets up the computer system, he looks inside, and finds a whisper quiet generator was included. He sets up the speakers, and pulls out the Guitar. He plugs everything in and turns it on. He puts in the headphones, and leaves the speakers unplugged. He mixes some samples, and then creates a Ghostly assistant, and teaches it quickly what to do. Roy listens to the ghostly assistant go to work. After five minuets of correction, Roy is satisfied with the result. The ghostly assistant resembles Arel.
The assistant dons Roys headphones, turns off the music, and waits for Roy's signal to start.

Roy picks up the guitar, tests it, and, satisfied that it works properly, tests the speakers.

He waits until a Crowd has gathered.

"Hi, Thank you fist of all, for letting me into this performance. I know I'm from outside Kaymiril, that much is obvious, but I think, or at least hope you'll enjoy what I'm about to play for you. This is in the style of Electronica, and was composed by a band name Juno Reactor. today, I'm playing their song, Pistolero. This is a ghostly assistant that's helping me out by the way, its working the Electronic system and the sounds on that."

"Without any further ado, Pistolero." Roy says. He and the ghostly assistant then proceedto play Pistolero for the crowd. The Music comes pouring out of the speakers, which are at a decent level, by any standereds.

OOC: Kay, I sent you the song in Gmail, Roy's playing the Guitar part.
Gmail's giving me hell. wait to respond until you get it.

OOC: I haven't gotten it yet.

IC:

Costh saw the funky sliver follow him, but unless it came to talk he would let it be.

The man had entered a large room filled with books, the sliver understood the purpose of books, but did not understand why so many were collected together in one room, it felt that maintaining silence was contraindicated at this point, since it would gain no information from merely listening, when nothing was being said, with that in mind he advanced and addressed the man"We are sorry to interrupt, but we are confused as to why there are so many boks stored in one place, would it not be safer to store the books in seperate places with a central reference location, so that in case of fire or other similar situation, they would not all be lost?"
Theao
30-05-2005, 23:25
"This is a library, books are stored here, and as I doubt any of these are one of a kind a fire wouldn't be irrepairable. Also with many mages a fire would be out almost before it started." Costh replied to the sliver.

How would the mages halt a fire, we have seen that they are very good at making fire, but we have never seen a mage put a fire out, it is thought among the slivers that mages can only destroy, are you saying that this is not so? We wish to learn all we can of magic but we have no understanding of its operation or its source, perhaps you would know someone who would be able to teach us more of it, that we may allow you to return to what you were doing?
Theao

We wish to understand, at least in the most basic precepts, many forms of known magic, our use was to be for our defense and the destruction of those who would attack us, however the thought that mages can create as well opens a great many new paths for us to take, is there perchance a mage who at least understands three forms of magic, that should be enough to give us the principle, after that we should be able to seek out other instructors on our own.
Theao
30-05-2005, 23:39

We wonder where you came from, we detect no magical emanations about you and we did not hear you arrive, if you are so powerful as tio leave no evidence of your magic then we will gladly recieve instruction from you in the ways of magic.

We shal learn from you, and the masters of water, and earth, we feel that this will provide us with a balance and ensure that we will not be corrupted by the power we wield, for while we serve the queen we are aware that power leads to a disregard for others who lack that power, we wish to guard against this.

We wonder, what do you think of those who endanger others in their quest for power, it is generally felt within the hive that doing so is ultimately destructive, but we wish to have an outside opinion on this matter before we proceed any further.

OOC: this is a test to see if he is the kind of person the hive can trust, depending on his answer they will either accept his offer or turn him down, mostly because I'm personally wondering how honest he will be.

IC:
Resa guestures over to her. "Did you find anything useful?"
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 01:05
"Yes, I found Rahegalhoff, Warfare's favored Paladin. He explained the rules to me quite thoroughly. He also included the reasons and occasions of when Gods can intercede on "Mortal behalf" as he put it. He said that being a Demi-God himself, he had to know all the rules. He also said that there were more advanced rules that Warfare would tell me when he came back to offically claim me as his daughter. He said that I was infact Warfare's lost daughter. Its not something Warfare likes to talk about very often. I also need to learn how to read. Queen Kaymiril VII promised me a tutor that would arrive tomorrow." Gypsy says.

Roy plays some more, than takes everything back down. Much to his chagrin, the bag disappears afterwards. He proceeds to walk around watching the other performances.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 01:10
Rs -- Then the tutor will arrive tomorrow. Would you like to go back to the Valshanth now?

**************************************************
It's safe to say that Roy wouldn't have ever seen such a gathering of talent in his entire life. There is literally nothing that the Kaymirilian entertainers wouldn't do -- from old, classical music (think Renaissance), to modern rock (made possible by Anna's open doors policy), to contortionists, to everything in between, there was nothing that went undone.

He wouldn't catch up with Arel and her siblings until the end of the day, if at all -- When things are starting to wind down.

OOC: I wonder what Arianna's reaction to finding out that she all of a sudden has a step daughter will be...I wonder if Warfare even told her. And what's the story behind Gypsy's birth, anyway?
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 01:13
OOC: I gues you'll just have to wait for Warfare's honeymoon to end to find out, now won't you? I'll give you an IC hint here in a bit.

IC: "I guess, I'm just not sure what to do with my new found freedom." Gypsy says.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 01:15

31-05-2005, 01:22
Gypsy steps on.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 01:25
She is taken back to the Valshanth, where a servant shows her to her room.

Servant -- Is there anything else that you want or require?

OOC: I'll let you bring Roy back to the little sibling troupe.
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 01:28
"Me? No, I'm fine, thank you for asking though." Gypsy says.

Roy eventually finds Arel and her siblings.

"So, how was your day?" Roy asks.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 01:30
"Should you need anything, pull on that cord, and one of us will come to attend to you." With a bow, the servant leaves.

************************************************
They were setting up camp, and Arel looks over at Roy and smiles. "We had a pretty good day, what about you?"

OOC: Y'know what...I changed my mind. Let's see where this romance can't go?
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 01:37
Gypsy felt lighter than air. Someone actually asked her what she wanted. Someone without a title. She was happy. She fell asleep. In her sleep, she saw it again, the tapestry of dreams. A small group of entertainers caught her eye this time. She turned her attention to this small group.

Anyone peeking into Gypsy's room for any reason would find her asleep, and floating in mid-air.

"Oh, I did some entertaining my self, and then watched the wide array of performers. All in all, I had fun." Roy says.

He felt, diffrent. He was starting to feel like he could talk to this Woman. He decided to get her a flower, but indescretly. He would wait until he had a good oppurtunity.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 01:40
No one would intrude on Gypsy's privacy.

********************************************
"This festival is fun...not only is it the one time the four of us get together...there's just so much to see and do. You have to be everywhere at once or miss something worth seeing."

She looks back to what she's cooking.

S -- Arel, we've been asked to do the closing act.

V -- Ring of Confusion?

K -- Oh, that's a good act.

Arel nods. "I agree."

S -- Then so it is.
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 01:43
"Pardon, but I've never heard of the ring of confusion." Roy says.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 01:45
Arel grins. "You will. We're one of the few groups that can pull it off."

OOC: And won't that be an uberpost worth reading.
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 01:55
"Ahh. I look forward to it." Roy says.

Gypsy wakes up. She decides to go to the roof, and simply look out over the countryside. She does so, and enjoys the first choice she ever made on her own, by herself.

Warfare appears next to her, as he is now.
"My daughter, it really is you." He says.

Gypsy spins and looks at the being next to her. It is amazing how much she looks like him.

"Are, you, really my father?" Gypsy asks.
"Yes. Kajeenith, Dark God of War stole you from your crib when you were naught but three days old. He sold you to a band of Gypsies after severing your link with us through the dark rituals." Warfare says.
"Really?" Gypsy asks.
"Yes. Why would I lie. I was Stol... er, ah, that is, I mean Kajeenith stole you, and I tried to stop him."
"You, stole me? But, your my father."Gypsy says.
"Yes, I know, now come give me a hug, your Home!" Warfare says. He grabs Gypsy.
"No let me Go. H-E-L-P!" Gypsy screamed.
Warfare merely laughed, and turned into Kajeenith.
"No. Your sacrifice to my powers will wound Warfare beyond reckoning. He'll be so hurt that he couldn't save his daughter after she finally resurfaces by blind luck he'll simply stop existing. Then no one could stop me. AHA HA HA HA HA HA!" Kajeenith laughed evily. He pulled out his sword.

"I sacrifice you to my Dark powers." Kajeenith said.

He prepared to strike, to kill.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 01:59
Haldosir had sensed the dark presence on the roof, and had teleported there. He threw a dagger at Kajeenith...it was heavily enchanted enough to actually do some damage. He held out his sword.

"You get through me before you harm a guest of this palace," he hissed.

Behind him appeared Rildorath, sword likewise drawn, and Nervim, ready to cast.

N -- "Gypsy, go back inside. It's safer there."

*************************************************
A -- It is a sight to see.
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 02:04
Kajeenith accidentally let go of Gypsy when the dagger struck him. He had a wound in his shoulder now. Gypsy ran for her life downstairs.

"You three think you can actually fight me? Hell if Warfare couldn't even destroy me when he had a chance, An ELDER GOD at that, how could you three Mortals possibly harm me. All mortals are mistakes. It was originally just the Gods. Mortals screwed everything up, rules were made. I would never have been a Dark God if it weren't for Mortals. I think I'll take it out on you three weaklings." Kajeenith said darkly. His Dark powers crackled and burned. He brought his sword down on Haldosir with enough strength to Topple a mountain, or at least a very large hill.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 02:10
Queen Kaymiril VII teleported up as Haldosir dodged the blow. There was now a hole in the roof -- but that could easily enough be fixed. Rildorath brought his blade down on Kajeenith's head.

K -- "Bahamut, God of the Good Dragons, Venus, Queen of the Faeries, and Elemental Warrior, Master of the Elements, I request your presence to aid me in this battle."

Haldosir whipped his sword around, red energy lighting it, and a trail of destructive energy lashed out at Kajeenith, and Nervim cast an energy-drain spell on him.

Kaymiril's eyes glinted harshly. If this didn't work...then she would progress to the spell which was supposed to be able to destroy a god.
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 02:19
The three requested summons appeared. They knew almost instinctivly that Kajeenith was their target. Kajeenith jumped off the roof and stood on empty air. He rubbed his head a little, and brought away blood.

He looked at them, with an evil glare.

"This isn't over yet. Pray thanks to whatever you believe in that I was Merciful this day." Kajeenith says. With that, he disappears, living behind a rather large Hydra. The Hydra was scared. All it knew was that it was out of place. There were some people looking at it mean. It was only just lying under water for a tasty fish. They must have brought it here to kill it. It had to defend itself. It launched seven fireballs, one from each head, at the part on the roof. Bahamut blocked them, Venus put it to sleep, and EW put it in a giant Aquarium.

"Well, Now what?" Bahamut asks.
"Shall we kill an innocent Hydra that never harmed anyone, or free it in the ocean? EW asks.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 02:22
K -- Put it in the ocean. I've no wish to harm an innocent creature. Thank you for coming.

Rildorath cleaned his sword. "We need to better fortify this place. We cannot have any dark god wandering here that wants."

Haldosir nodded. "I will speak to the Hidden Master tomorrow...there is much that he can do."

With that, they return inside.
Warhaven

All three lift the Hydra Aquarium, and take it to the ocean. There the Hydra is realeased to live a rich full life and have several baby Hydras. They go their seperate ways.

Gypsy finds Kaymiril VII.
"Who, or what was that, and why did it want me dead?" she asks.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 02:30
Kay VII guides Gypsy to a chair, and motions for a servant to bring drinks. Within moments, a sweet, warm, creamy drink (hot cocoa, only not) is served to them.

"His name is Kajeenith. He wants your father dead...he wants to take the most horrible vengeance possible on your father before that point...and, to prove that you are his daughter, finally, he showed up to make you part of his revenge. Fortunately Haldosir is both swift and brave...otherwise, you would likely be dead right now."
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 02:32
"A simple thanks just doesn't seem like enough." Gypsy says.

She drinks some. She comes a way with a cream mustasch.

"Mm, delicious." She says.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 02:33
Kay VII smiles. "You're my grand daughter, in one form or another...we couldn't just let you die, could we?"
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 02:41
"Well, I hope not." Gypsy says. She finishes the cup. It gives her a nice warm feeling. It almost seems like a melody. She can practically here it playing. What she doesn't realize is that it really is playing, She glows green ever so slightly. A wonderfully slow melody is playing. It gives the feeling of the hope of a new day, that eventually, all things will be made better.

Are you all right, dalhar?

*****************************************
Night passes at the bardfest, and a new day dawns.
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 02:45
Roy gets up, and decides to spend the day looking for an extremly pretty flower to give Arel.

"Why yes, I am, why do you ask?" Gypsy asks.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 02:49
The party gets up, gets breakfast, and then spreads out for a day of preformance and enjoyment.
There are flower sellers all over.
OOC: I love the range of relationships that can start in rp. The last one started somewhat shakily on Riptide with "Oh, f*ck it, I love you," and kind of solidified with a late-night guard-duty kiss, and this one's taking things slower.
************************************************************
If it were me that had been almost killed tonight, I'd be a touch more shaken up. I am glad you are all right, nonetheless.
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 02:54
"I've gotten used to such things, unfortunatly." Gypsy says. She says goodnight, and goes to her room. Since she does not need sleep, and everyone else around does, she simply lays there, thinking. Slowly her thoughts turn to Kajeenith. She lays there, thinkning about him, the way he talked, the way he moved, everything.

Roy spends some time carefully considering the range of flowers availible.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 02:58
There are sounds of repairs going on as workers begin to repair the damage done by Kajeenith's sword, and there is the almost imperceptible sound of footfalls as Haldosir keeps a careful watch over the Valshanth.

*************************************************************************
The festivities continue all day.

OOC: I have time for one more post, but it's pushing it.

Gypsy gets up when she sees dawn creeping up over the hills.
She waits for the tutor to arrive.

Roy selects a Bouquet of flowers to give to Arel. He pays the seller, and heads off to find her.

The Flower Bouquet

OOC: Good night Kay.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 03:06
The tutor arrives in due time, gives Gypsy a bow, and then decides that it would be best to start her learning how to read and write Common.

Selecting a book, she opens it, and sets it in front of the girl. "This is a long process...hopefully you can still learn. These scribbly marks you see here are letters. In the Phonecian alphabet, they start with A (etc)"
*************************************************************
Arel is finishing up a stunning rendition of The Fall of Darkness when Roy finds her. The applause is thunderous, but there are tears in many an eye. She takes a bow and steps off stage.

OOC: Good night. And holy crap, that's a big bouquet.
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 03:08
Gypsy nods and pays attention. A very bad very sour note is heard at the remark of

"Hopefully you can still learn."

Roy gives Arel the Bouqet.

OOC: well we still got the rest of the wargames to finish, or I could come up with a reason to invade you, or start a character RP in the vein of The legacy of the Aldenata\Posleen wars mythos, or, better yet, in the Empire of Man, set around the Adoula coup, while Roger's off on Marduk.

Gypsy nods and pays attention. A very bad very sour note is heard at the remark of

"Hopefully you can still learn."

Roy gives Arel the Bouqet.
"Don't give me any of that, Dalhar." The tutor continues on each letter for a short time, explaining stuff about it, etc, then looks at Gypsy. "How much of that alphabet can you repeat back?"
**********************************************************
Arel smiles. "Thank you, they're lovely."
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 21:16
Gypsy recites the entire alphabet back to him.

"Your welcome. Pretty flowers for a pretty lady." Roy says.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 21:23
The tutor nodded. "From these letters come the words in which we speak." She takes a quill and paper, then puts the inkwell at the top of the paper, and dips it in, handing it to Gypsy. "We learn both to read and to write, to express our ideas and to understand the ideas of others. Take the quill, and try to write an 'A'. If you need help, I will guide your fingers for the first attempts."

We shalllearn from you, and the masters of water, and earth, we feel that this will provide us with a balance and ensure that we will not be corrupted by the power we wield, for while we serve the queen we are aware that power leads to a disregard for others who lack that power, we wish to guard against this.

"I believe that each being should be able to reach their maximum potential, however, the absolute laws must be obeyed in the process. Those that endanger others in their quest for power should have a good reason, otherwise the questing party should be left alone. For instance, if the Warhaven hive were to breed a creature that ate Miehm slivers exclusivly, wouldn't you object? It is of a similar nature for me, if you were to find a way to cancel my powers, I too would have to object. Quests for more power are okay, but with great power comes great responsibilities, and more enemies. No one, has ever gone through life without making enemies. Your lives, your quests will be the same. I hope the Warhaven and Miehm hives can be come friends and allies, or at least come to a mutual agreement. However, you have began to seek more power. The fates will balance this with equally powerful enemies. Beware, for your own sakes, for Magic, is a powerful drug, once you try a little bit, you will always want more." El said.

Warhaven

IC: Gypsy draws twenty A's. The twentieth one looks a bit better than the first.

Roy enjoys his time immensly.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 21:37
"Here...let me help you." The tutor takes Gypsy's hand gently and guides an almost-perfect A out. "See? That's all you have to do."
********************************************************************
Arel gets called to join another troupe for an hour or so. She turns to Roy and smiles. "Don't let me hold you up...have fun...I'll see you at the camp tonight."
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 21:40
Gypsy copies the A, at first its a horrible copy, but 5 or 6 a's later, she's drawing it almost exactly like the Tutor.

Roy walks around whistling a random happy tune.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 21:43
"Good. Let's move on to B..." She takes Gypsy's hand again, and again guides it, then lets the girl copy.

*****************************************************************
Arel and her siblings are sort of sprawled out around the camp, thoroughly exhausted.

A -- Two more days. During which time we have to preform, watch preformances, and make sure we can still do the Ring of Confusion -- Also called the Wheel of Chaos...you may have heard of that.
Theao
31-05-2005, 21:49
ooc; a miscellaneous lecture in the Tower, unless someone wants to make the lecture something.
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 21:52
Costh was soon joined by Agrinja, current Archwizard of the Black wizards of destruction.

Gypsy soon masters each letter as it is presented to her.

"Ahh. Okay. Never heard of Wheel of Chaos either. Unless your referring to the bit where four people stand in a ring and summon chaos elementals to do their bidding." Roy says.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 21:57
"That's enough for one day...more than enough...we'll progress further tomorrow."
***************************************************************
Arel shakes her head. "Rule number one: Unless you're prepared for the consequences, don't summon AN-Y-THING...and chaos elementals can have some very nasty consequences. You'll just have to see the Circle of Confusion for yourself, then."
Theao
31-05-2005, 22:01
As the lecture finished, it turned out it was on the magickal properties of plants, Costh got up and headed over to Agrinja, "So what did you think of the lecture, and why are you here, this doesn't really seem like your thing?"
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 22:03
Gypsy nods, and goes off to the library, where she practices her handwriting, all, night, long. By the time morning comes around, she writes in a fanciful script as though she had been writting that way all her life.

"I guess I will then. By the way, those Chaos elementals were fun to try and get away from. No, the only thing I can summon is Fat Chocobo. Had to race another Chocobo to. Really hard race, I barely won." Roy says.
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 22:04
Agrinja looked at Costh.
"I always enjoy listening to the opinions of others. Besides, I was preparing to give a lecture myself later in the afternoon. I merely wanted to hear what the room sounded like. Kinda sorta get a feel for things, you know?" Agrinja says.
Theao
31-05-2005, 22:08
"So you were checking out the acoustics. I take it you'll be using this room then, so when is the lecture?" Costh asked
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 22:08
"The reason you learned the alphabet...the basic structures of the language, is that you could learn to read in it." She pulls out a child's book (Think shades of "The Cat in the Hat" or "Green Eggs and Ham") and opens it. "This is a long process, and most find it difficult...today, you begin to learn to read."
**************************************************************

Warhaven
31-05-2005, 22:09

Theao
31-05-2005, 22:11
"I'll probably be there, thought you may not find many Kaymirilians*, as they seen to have a repugance of necromancy." Costh replied

ooc: * sorry if this is the wrong plural
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 22:14
Gypsy looks at the book.
"so how does one read then? I see thhe letters forming the words, but how do I read, how do I make since of it all?" Gypsy asks.

"I heard stories. I heard she is the only one to have gained the ultimate summons, but what that could be I could not say. No one I've ever encountered could say what that would be. I heard many rumors. The most idiotic one says that its a Wargod of some sort. Yeah, I can just imagine Warfare letting himself get summoned by someone. Him, the most powerful wargod bowing to a Mortal and asking what they wanted. Aha hahahaha." Roy laughed.

OOC: If he only knew...
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 22:15
"If there are, there are. I am a master Necromancer. I know how to get rid off them quite well." Agrinja says.
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 22:18
OOC: Kaymirilians, Kaymirili, either/or

IC:

A -- "I've no doubt that the Queen could call on Warfare for help and he'd answer -- she is his most recent biological mother."
Theao
31-05-2005, 22:18
"I know a very small amount of necromantic spells, thought more necro runes." Costh replied
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 22:28
"So, this first line says:
'she sells seashells by the seashore.'?" Gypsy asks, reading it slowly.

"I had heard of that, that wasn't the funny thought, it was the thought of Warfare being some sort of King of the summoned monsters." Roy says.
Warfare, the real one appears next to Roy.

"What the, how did I get here? Drat, that'll teach me to craft a spell for Her in that manner. No matter. Oh, don't mind me folks. I'm not even here." Warfare says, and he disappears.

Roy stares at the spot where Warfare was standing.
"What was that about?" He asks.

OOC: Random? yes. Reason behind it? Yes, but it is a small one.
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 22:29

Warhaven

"I know, it gets drilled into us enought in school." Costh replied, "Same goes with summoning."
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 22:42
Well, and there's a reason for that. I remember when i summoned an elder Chaos Elemental once. I had hell trying to get it to go away. finally had to summon an Elder Law elemental. The two Nullified each other by their presence. I was in a hospital for 3 weeks.
Theao
31-05-2005, 22:46
"I never got into mid levels of necro or summoning, as it rated low on my testing and wasn't that interesting." Costh replied
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 22:48
I've never thought it was all that thrilling either, but, how can you defend against something you don't know how to operate?
Theao
31-05-2005, 22:50
"We are taught how to counter some necro but not how to do." Costh replied
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 22:55
The Black wizards are only taught basic. As we advance we learn more, with the Archwizards apprentice learning everything from the Archwizard.
Theao
31-05-2005, 23:07
"Ah, we are taught counters more than spells in non prime or secondary disciplines." Costh replied
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 23:13
Understandible.

OOC: Where'd Kay go, is she like, writing up one hell of an Uberpost or something?
Kaymiril
31-05-2005, 23:16
"And, lets see, then." Gypsy says. She reads more and more until basic level reading seems to easy.

"They say Warfare is a very weird God." Roy says.
At which point she progresses to the next level, and rules of grammar are begun to be explained, and she starts writing sentences.
***************************************************************
V -- You'd know best. *Yawn* You're his follower.

OOC: Kay got called away. Sorry, guys. And I'm fixing to head out and buy an SAT prep guide.
Theao
31-05-2005, 23:18
"So beside necromancy, what are your fields?" Costh asked
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 23:21
Gypsy soon graps this firmly as well.

"Why yes, I am." Roy says. He yawns as well.

"Stop yawning, its contagious you know." Roy says in a joking manner.
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 23:23
"Well, we aren't called the black wizards of destruction for nothing. My class masters the more destructive and powerful spells. We don't master any one element, however Black Masters may be masters of one or several elements in the process of training."
Theao
31-05-2005, 23:25
"So what areas have you mastered?" Costh asked
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 23:27
"I like Hexart before me, have mastered them all." Agrinja says.
Theao
31-05-2005, 23:28
"Who is Hexart? So you've master runics?" Costh asked
Warhaven
31-05-2005, 23:49
"Hexart was the Former Head of the Wizards of Destruction. He died in an incident involving Lolth. Yes, I have mastered Runes." Agrinja says.
Theao
31-05-2005, 23:52
"Interesting, I wonder how are runes differ, as well as how your rune skills differ from the Archrune wizardess." Costh commented
Warhaven
01-06-2005, 00:09
"I know Runes not even the Archwizardess is capable of casting. Thus, our Runes probably vary greatly. The same could be said for me and Ishrem. The real question would be, how do Scria and Ishrem's Runes differ?" Agrinja said.
Theao
01-06-2005, 00:14
"It would be interesting to see how they did." Costh replied, as almost of it's own violation, a rune changed the clothing he had on to the robes given to him by Scria.
Warhaven
01-06-2005, 00:20
"You must have made a favorable impression upon Scria to get those Robes. She only gives those to people who have the potential to become an Archwizard, Or More..." Agrinja says. He gets up, and stretches.
Theao
01-06-2005, 00:23
"Or more? Beside the divinities, I wouldn't have thought there would be a higher level Archwizard." Costh commented "As to the impression I made, I was told that by the paladin Rag-something, shortly before the Battle of Death, but I've yet to figure out why."
Warhaven
01-06-2005, 00:29
"Probably because of all the untrained potential you posses. I can feel it just oozing out of you. And yes, Its: Wizards/Mages, ArchMagi, Demi-God, which is inbetween Archwizard/Archmage, and the Lesser Gods, Gods, Greater Gods, and then Elder Gods." Agrinja says. He waves the chairs back into order, and fixes everything else back up.
Theao
01-06-2005, 00:31
"Now that makes a bit more sense, as all I have to do is undergo a ritual to become a demi-god." Costh replied
Warhaven
01-06-2005, 00:58
"You must have been a chosen successor. At that point, you'll be more powerful than me, but that doesn't mean you can simply throw your new weight around. Dark Gods do that. Don't be a Dark God, I'd hate to have to hunt you down." Agrinja says.
Theao
01-06-2005, 01:02
"Chosen, but not by anyone, but by the symbol of office. If I intended to go darksider, I'd have gone DG as soon as I got the ability to. That and my counterpart/wife would probably take me to task." Costh replied
Kaymiril
01-06-2005, 01:22
Gypsy soon graps this firmly as well.

"Why yes, I am." Roy says. He yawns as well.

"Stop yawning, its contagious you know." Roy says in a joking manner.
By this time it is late. "Go on...I am certain that the Queen would not have me take all your time. We will resume tomorrow."
*****************************************************************
V -- "I've been told."

K -- "Is anyone really hungry, or did everyone buy from the vendors?"
Warhaven
01-06-2005, 01:22
"Women, their such wonderful creatures." Agrinja says.
Theao
01-06-2005, 01:24
"Wonderful, but odd." Costh agreed
Kaymiril
01-06-2005, 01:25
"Women, their such wonderful creatures." Agrinja says.
OOC: What's that supposed to mean?
Warhaven
01-06-2005, 02:06
OOC: I'll let you puzzle that one out on your own. :D

IC: Gypsy goes back to the library, and this time practices her reading. When morning comes, she can read really rather well, and has a philosophy book under her arm.

"I got from vendors, trying diffrent things out." Roy says.
Kaymiril
01-06-2005, 02:08
The tutor raises an eyebrow. "I have two questions for you...one, do you understand that? Two...did you spend any social time with anyone last night? Or the night before, for that matter?"

*******************************************************************
A -- "Good. Then we can all just get some sleep."
Warhaven
01-06-2005, 02:14
"I'm not a very social person, and I do have a question I was hoping could be answered. I think I understand the book well enough though." Gypsy said.

Written in the book.
Symbols and Opposites Tell The Whole Story

We can define a philosophical and scientific theory of everything with the following simple rules:

Rule 1: Everything is symbolic (entities express), and,

Rule 2: Everything appears as one side (only) of a pair of opposites (entities survive).

Rule 3: There are no other rules (entities survive to express, and express to survive).

Zeros and Ones: Symbols, Opposites; Different Yet The Same

The symbol for Rule 1 is either 0 or 1. The symbol for Rule 2 is the opposite of the symbol chosen for Rule 1, either 1 or 0.

0 and 1 are both opposite and symbolic. 0 is in a constant state of becoming 1. 1 is in a constant state of becoming 0.

Zeroes and ones are in the continual, infinite relationship of attracting each other and then changing places.

Ideas, Realities, Showing, Hidden

Corollary 1: Whatever is showing, its opposite is hidden. (light, dark; outside, inside; 1, 0)

Corollary 2: Whatever is showing is continually moving toward its hidden opposite, and whatever is hidden eventually shows up.

Corollary 3: Whatever is true is also false and whatever is false is also true. Everything is both true and false according to how we (wish to) see it.

Corollary 4: Every opposite is a symbol and every symbol is an opposite.

Corollary 5: An idea and its corresponding reality are symbolic opposites. ( heaven, earth; abstract, concrete; 0, 1)

Sun Creates Symbols and Opposites; Hidden and Showing Ideas and Realities

The sun is our master symbol, creating and teaching us how to interpret heaven and earth and light and dark, and all of the other pairs of opposites-- abstract, concrete, showing and hidden.

As if we were the sun, everything we see is always one-half of a full view. The other half is always hidden from view (in a shadow).

(Heaven and earth are symbols for abstract and concrete, or ideas and realities. Light and dark are symbols for showing and hidden or outsides and insides. Hidden and showing ideas and realities comprise all of the knowledge in this and all universes. Another well-known symbol for hidden and showing ideas and realities is e=mc2.)

The sentence that describes these ideas succinctly is: 'what is is also not'. The symbol that describes them is the circle.

Gypsy read him the passage.
"Does that mean that nothing is real, and just a symbol for its opposite?" Gypsy asked. She had never before encountered Philosophy before.

Roy slept well.

The tutor laughs. "No...that was made up by some old stuffed suit trying to confuse people. In the fourth corallary, they do not define "opposite." What is opposite? Take you and me here, as examples...I am the opposite of you...my hair is white, your skin is white, my skin is black, your hair is black. We are opposites. And yet, am I a symbol for you, and vice versa? Not at all. You are yourself, and I am myself, and that is an absolute truth. Aside from that...you should know that there is reality...if both of us were not real, how could we be having this conversation?"

OOC: No more philosophy. Not this week. I just got an SAT prep book, and I'm starting to read it, and the test is on Saturday. I don't need your strange philosophy on top of that.

*Agrinja clears his throat.*

Necromancy, what is it. Necromancy is commonly accepted as the art of dealing with the dead through magic. Necromancy has always been thought of as an evil form of magic for the longest time, however, this is not entirely the case. There is Good, necromancy, just as there are good undead, usually referred to as Deathless. They are as opposite as the Light Gods and the Dark gods. But I'm not here to try and convince you that necromancy is good, only tell you of the Negative side to practicing the Dark Arts. After class, if you like, I will show you a genuine Deathless, from the massive crypt on Mille Mortis known as The Undying Court. Any questions at the moment?" Agrinja began.

It has always been our understanding that Necromancers disturbed the dead for purely selfish reasons...selfish reasons leading to dark magick...leading to the utter consumation of the soul of the Necromancer, leading to darker deeds, until said Necromancer is him or herself killed. Is this not the case?"

"Quite usually yes. This is what 90% of Necromancy leads to. However, the Deathless, are not created by usuall necromancy. The gods bestowed upon Mortal man a little knowledge, to be used for when say, an important leader was beyond healing, yet was needed for a little while longer.
*Gestures, King Arthur is standing there. He was expecting something like this.*

Take King Arthur here. There are many diffrent theories to how he died. Make no mistake, he is diffenatly dead, that, is an undeniable fact, but, when he died, The one destined to take his place, was not yet able to rule Avalon. To this end, Merlin used the Good Necromancy on King Arthur's neardead body, and turned King Arthur Deathless. In the process, Merlin gave his life up as well, and also became Deathless.

After wail of the banshee, depending on how strong your spirit is, you lose your voice, sometimes permanetly, sometimes for a time period. One Necro I know of, lost his voice for fifty-five years. Then one day, it just simply came back. Other effects also include a permanet loss in hearing, a mild form of one Phsycosis or another, and partially blurred visin for a while. That's if your strong enough to resist dying yourself. Necromancy has a wide array of effects on its casters. Pretty anything that can go wrong with somebody, will go wrong with the right spell. Its the anti-thesis to healing magic. Now, my face will return to normal, slowly, over time, and eventually, I will shake off the schizophrenia. Its really troubling to have voices talking to you all the time. Anyways. Full time Necros heal themselves using Dark Rituals. The most popular involves sacrificing something young and innocent, like Shan here. The Rune Mage near him, while not fitting for a sacrifice, might also be used for a body switch. If you switch your bodies with someone else, you take your Necromancy powers with you. The Mild effects stay with your body. The Rune mage would get a broken down and diseased body, and the necro would get a fresh young body to continue. Some Side-effects though, they but dark blights on your soul. Agrinja continued anyways. If Shan failed, well, he failed.
He decided to give him a chance though. Secretly, ha made a small shock get Shan from behind. Static Shock. Enough to startle him and get him to pay attention.

King Arthur walked off.

"Now then," Agrinja started after the static Shock hit, " The main focus, is how to repel the undead. Arthur has gone to round up several diffrent levels of Undead I have incapacitated in a nearby storage locker. Ahh yes, here he comes now.
*King Arthur pulls in a cart bearing all manner of undead.*

Now, we'll start of simple. The skeleton. Skeletons are very easy to defeat. All you really have to do, is knock them around with a good bludgeoning object, and they'll crumble to dust. I know however, that a situation may arrive in which you can't use physical violence, and frankly, magick is a whole lot funner to use. Now, a class of spell that almost always works, is Healing and restorative magicks. I am not a healer, nor will I ever be a healer. However, I have learned enough healing magic that I can cure almost any basic wound, and chase away most of the undead. I would suggest all of you apprentice yourselves to a good healer and learn at least basic healing and restorative magics. Its good for more than chasing away undead, trust me. Although, I do have to admit, most Healers I've seen, are really quite strick when they teach their magic. *Kahlan, the Achwizardess of healing shoots Agrinja a certain look as she walks by down the hallway.*
There are, other spells as well. Fire seems to do exceptionally well against undead, unless the undead your fighting is immune to it. It does happen, trust me. The fiend of Fire is Undead, and he's a master of the stuff. Although I do hear Phish, Kaymirilian Master of fire, really got him good.
I know, you hear Fish and think Aquatic animal, but no, I made that mistake to. Phish, with a Ph, is a really talented master, and good at his craft.

Now, the question becomes, how do you chase away an undead creature without a weapon, without healing and restorative magics, and without Fire Magic? Well, I'm going to answer that.

Dia.

Yes, a spell known simply as Dia. Where Dia originated from, I couldn't tell you, but I can tell you this. It summons an Aura, a powerful Aura, a Holy Aura. This naturally deals damage to undead, and with most weaker Undead, a small dosage of Dia will get rid of them quickly. Like so.

*Agrinja casts Dia, a powerful Holy aura fills the room. Since Agrinja worships Warfare, his aura fills the room. The skeleton crumbles, as does 1/3 of all the Undead in the cart.*

Then, lets say you've run across something even more powerful. Lets say you've run accross a Genuine Egyptian Mummy, or a Mummy from anywhere, not necessarily Egyptian. Mummies, are really powerful creatures. Hard to control, and hard to beat. How ever, there are more powerful ways to get rid of them. A good example of this would be Regenerative wind.

Reginerative wind originated awhile back, when a Healer and a sky Mage conspired to cast a massive healing spell on an entire army at once. Most Healers probably know this spell, and, if they don't, I'd be happy to pass it along. Anyways, The Healer and the mage, figured out how to put a healing spell upon a breeze. I personally learned this spell out of intrest, and one day I ran into a leage group of really powerful Undead. I tried thinking of things I knew that worked that would help me out of the tight spot I was in, but all I could think of, was Regenerative wind. This is what happened.

*Agrinja casts Regenerative wind. Everyone can see healing energies floating upon a breeze. They all feel refreshed and much better. 1/3 of the Undead in the cart crumple up and die. The remaining Undead, obiviously under Agrinja's control, Look at him.*

Then, sometimes, nothing does the job quite like a Black Hole. Black Holes come from science. They occur when a really big star collapses. Me and my fellow Archwizards of Warfare, got together and figured out how to craft one via magic. It's only for the real masters of magic. The ones who have the greatest control, and the highest amount of power. Anyways, we've discovered, that taking a high amount of Gravity, concentrating it, and exerting influence over its gravitational influences, allows us to spawn a small black Hole.

*Agrinja mumbles scientific formulae mixed with magic. The gravity in Hoeth increases and the lights dim and decend to a point just infront of Agrinja. They can see the lights revolve around a small black Hole just infront of Agrinja. He drags the black hole, partially through more of the spell, partially through brute strength, more spell than strength, closer to the remaining undead. They get crunched up along with the cart into the black hole. Agrinja finishes the spell and everything reverts to normal. Agrinja's breathing hard.*

And, that, is, how, you, get, rid of, powerful, undead, creatures."Agrinja says while breathing heavily. He waits for questions whilst he catches his breath.

"Your hits are good. They can be stronger. Channel your energies, in your case, your white flame, into your muscles, all of them. Have it amplify your strength. The more familier you are with your power, the more you can use it to increase your strength. Remeber this, for using it as you normally would is good, but their may be times when you need to use it in secret. This technique, the core of what my skills are based off, will allow you to acomplish such a feat." The Abbott said.

He channeled his energy away from his muscles. His muscles visibly deflated a little.

He ran up, and gave cougar a blow on the chest. While it was still strong, it was not as strong as the previous blows. The monk stepped back a pace or two.

"See what I mean? Be glad I am not the Grand Abbot. It is said that Warfare challenged him once to dent the DarkSteel. It is said he put a great dent in the darksteel. The Grandabbott's powers, are far better than my own." The abbott said.

Kahlan, the archwizardess of Healing and regenerative magics, healed the abbott back to perfect health, removing any injuries, and restoring lost energy. Then she did the same for Cougar.

The Abbott of the Mage Fist stepped up, and bowed.

"Alright." Costh replied, he first used a very powerful shielding rune to encircle him and the lich as merged spells, especially untested ones, ran a risk of unintended side effects and reactions. Once he was sure of the shielding he began working on the rune. Rather than drawing it in the air as he'd done for the Dai and Regenerative Wind, he drew the merged rune carefully and neatly on a sheet. Once it was complete he focued and sent power throught the rune. The spell let loose it's powers, the combination of the two sending out an odd purplish wave, that broke on the shield but still bleed out into the rest of the room. The Lich, simply vanished under the power of the rune, but it did have a number of unexpected side effects on the people and objects in the room. Any wood objects either sprouted branches or leaves depending on size, while on the people, thier hair grew a full foot and thier finger nails grew an inch. The effects on Costh were he grew butt length hair, from a formerly bald head, and his nails grew almost a foot in length. Costh staggered from the spell and fell to his knees, braking all ten of his nails.

He closed his eyes, and concentrated for ages,, before the White Flame burst in existence. After nearly a year, Cougar had managed to achieve his next power level. Even as he did so, he yelled out, his hair grew to it's old lenght and then some and it flickered in the fire. It had taken much training, and much hardship, but the fights had only served to make him stronger still. He stood there, his muscle mass slightly increased, but his speed unimpended. He opened his eyes, and saw nothing except the Flame, the world merely etchings of black, mere outlines of what was there. But he was used to it by now.
