OOC: I do not think there is a parking lot. since most of us have used teleportation of some sort or anouther we have had no need for one. If you are worried about storage though I am certain that there are rooms designed to store something of that size.

These people are soft... This Master is softer than most... Nightmares fear nothing, and I fear less. I have lived my greatest terrors for very waking moment of the last centuries, and still he seeks to frighten me... I gaze upon my nightmares constantly, what terror is there for me in the words of an old man?
"These people are weak..." He didn't even realise he'd said it out loud, but it was said so softly that not even those with the keenest opf hearing could have heard him...

Waving his hands in a broad gesture Galvenor indicated the crowd of both students and instructors who had gathered to witness the event.
"If you want to be instructed in the ways of Power, you must first convince one of these instructors you are worth their time. Today was a prime example of how not to go about that. Good luck."
Galvenor faded from view and reappeared next to Eldrad.
The Eldar Master Farseer ((Sorry about all the caps)) sighed gently,"It would appear we have a problem, Galvenor... I do not understand what the provocation was. From my point of view, there was none... and very little, if anything, escapes our collective notice."
His head snapped up as Chainer spoke to himself, his hearing being of high Elven quality. However, he did not need to hear him... all those he had taught to wield the Warp could be felt through it, and so could their thoughts,"Excuse me, Teji and Galvenor, I will return."."
He stood up, walked over, and grabbed Chainer by the shoulder, his grip strong despite his slender frame, even concealed within his armour,"You imputent child! Do you not realise that this 'soft' person took the time and energy to teach you something that very few have the chance to learn. Who helped you when you found it difficult, and showed you how to manipulate the power of the Immaterium? This 'soft' Eldar has seen things you could never dream, even though you claim to have faced your nightmares for many centuries. Others may not have heard you, nor felt what you were thinking, but I have. You are a disgrace, and I regret having taught you."
With that, he pushed him away,"Irregardless of power, nobody here is weak nor soft. Everyone is strong in their own way. If all you wish is power at any cost, then you do not belong here. Should you win your upcoming battle, you should leave the Tower... there is no place here for those whose only wish is more power at the cost of others. Your willingness to exploit a persons charity sickens me to my very soul."
As he turned to walk away, he stopped, and said over his shoulder,"Oh, and should you attempt to assualt me now, I will spread your soul across the Immaterium to be devoured by the beasts within, and I would do it with pleasure. You say you are not scared? To quote a famous Jedi,'You will be.'"
With that, he walked away, his hands clasped behind his back tightly, before sitting back on the bench,"I apologise, Teji, but given the current situation, I cannot train you further. For the time being, please meditate on what you have learned before, and return to me when this nasty buisness is complete."

OOC: Yeah, until someone else comes up with something, Chainer is temporarily dead in the water so far as character development is concerned...

After Eldrad had left Teji began wondering about the name he had called out who was this Galvenor and were was he. perhapse he was anouther teacher or student. he had no clue. He decided that it would be worth it to try to find out anyhow. so he spoke out to the air to see if he could get his attention. "Mr. Galvenor sir were ever you are and who ever you are can i speak to you for a moment."
As he couldn't find an instructor in the dispersing crowd, the man decided to spend some time in meditation as well a review of his actions. Taking a seat on a bench, he removed his cloak. What was revealed was a young man with spikey white hair as well as an almost elvenistic cast to his features. Covering his right hand and stretching to mid forearm was a gauntlet that was designed and inset with gems in such a way as to make it appear as if it belonged to an insect. The hand also had an extra finger, that the left one lacked. Covering his right eye was an eye patch in much the same style of the gauntlet. He closed his left eye with a purple iris and began to contemplate and meditate.

"Ahh, but we are not truely ever alone. The lady, she speaks to us, protects us, clothes us, feeds us, gives us water. We are as dependant on her, as she is on us. It is her that chooses all Sorcerers of Ri-an, it is her that teaches us, gives us training. It probably seems strange to you, because you have grown up with a diffrent method. But it seems strange to me, to have great numbers of mages, and training them all from birth. Then again, who knows where we would have been, in another 1,000 years." Marill said.

Ri-an sat there. she was used to being alone. She reached out with her mind,to see if Kaymiril had a spirit like her, to see if she was the only one of her kind, other than him, or if indeed, every planet had a guardian spirit.
OOC: Good night. I hope to meet more people IC tomorrow.
"You do have a point. Still...we are trained from a very young age, so that by the time one of us becomes a Master, he or she knows exactly how to control the specific magick."
__________________________________________________________________
The planet did have a spirit, but as its tenants were not in need of it, and it was not hostile towards them, it lay passive, dormant.
"What we have mastered, probably seems basic to you, but that which we have mastered, we have well and truely mastered. In fact, my entire trip here, started with experimenting with Teleportation. It seems difficult now, but I pray it will become easier with time, and practice." Marill said.

Lady Ri-an let it sleep. It was not her place to wake it. She sat there, and let time pass by. She watched over her own world, seeking still, the source of the mana born creatures, for they were never her creations.

"It does. Our own people's history of magick is greusome, simply because too much was attempted too soon. But from that, we have mastered much."

It was a while before Mith could get in to see her. He was tall, for a Drow, at almost five and a half feet, and while he was covered from head to toe in gray, including a mask, his eyes and posture gave out a soothing feeling, one that tended to calm frightened patients and families.
"L' Jalil Ri-an?"
"Who can truely say what path is best? A society develops according to its needs. In the end, it matters little, for now my people can learn from those who truely know magic, and its powers." Marill said.

Chainer had no idea what to do now... He had sensed some truth in what Eldrad said, but after over 7 centuries of constant numbness, what was there that he could do to change after so long? When fear, hatred, anger, and the shades of those you have killed are your only companions, what could break the cold that descended on a person after so long???

Not far away, there was a group of small children heading out, with two adults leading them. All were dressed in a deep shade of gray.

Chainer was oblivious, he was too deep in thought, considering all he had heard. He nearly ran into her as he walked by, barely even noticing her as he passed...
Loki noticed a figure meditating by himself and decided to go find out who he was. As he neared the young man, he realized it was the same spikey haired person who had recently been summoned to the arena for his argument with Chainer.
"Um, hi," Loki greeted innocently as he stood next to him. "Who are you?"

He nearly ran into her as he walked by, barely even noticing her as he passed...She paused just in time to not be bumped into, and muttered something under her breath, in Drow, about humans that couldn't see where they were going.
She then continued on her way. She had a job to do, after all.
"Hello young fellow." The man said, turning to look at Loki. "My name is Uriel, Uriel Lucifer."
"Interesting name," Loki replied as he thought about his name, Lucifer. "Um... what are you?" he asked bluntly, though with the innocence that only someone as young as Loki could muster.

"No doubts. If you are a student, pick a destination. If an instructor, choose a student. If an obstruction, the exit is back that way."

She was good and kind, though to many she seemed cold and remote as the stars. We would sit and talk for hours, about absolutely nothing. This is not going to be an easy case. If I succeed with this one, I'm going to request to be moved to Fourth Order, specializing in Mental Health.
He nodded. "And then you will decide if that is what is best for you."

"Gre'as'anto lu' verve dro. I am Mith, head of the Healing Class."
He sat down, guesturing for her to do the same.
"How may I be of service?"
Not far away, there was a group of small children heading out, with two adults leading them. All were dressed in a deep shade of gray.
All but one of them vanished, the last one, a female, being temporarily stationed at the Tower, in case someoen got hurt.
"I live but to serve. It is my people, who will decide. Either way what would we do first, start from the beginning, or would you test me, to see what I know?" Marill asked.

"So many, so much grey. Indeed, Ri-an has been slow in developing, but it was necessary. Maybe, if change occurs, next time, he will be gone. No matter, let me tell you why I'm here, why I wish to meet the Valsharess." Lady Rian said as she sat down.
She told Mith, what she was, who she was, of all that had transpired, and of her wish. She told him that if things were to continue as they were, she would die, and her children would soon follow. She told him, that she could no longer guide those who dwelt upon her, and that she needed help, lest her children die needlessly. She told him, that a Drow, in robes of black suggested she meet with the Valsharess, that she would be able to help.

Piekrom']After Eldrad had left Teji began wondering about the name he had called out who was this Galvenor and were was he. perhapse he was anouther teacher or student. he had no clue. He decided that it would be worth it to try to find out anyhow. so he spoke out to the air to see if he could get his attention. "Mr. Galvenor sir were ever you are and who ever you are can i speak to you for a moment."
The gentleman that had been sitting next to Eldrad turned toward Teji.
"You don't have to yell, I am not deaf...yet."
Teji looked over and saw Galvenor trying to get the ringing out of his ear, which he had just yelled into.

Of course there were many people in gray. One out of every three people in the entire city was a Healer, and the robes of their Class were gray.
"Interesting...but the Valsharess is currently away, and I do not know when she will return. You have the option of meeting with her daughter, or with the Minister of Foreign affairs. I do believe, though, that our Minister will be better able to help you than our young Qu'essan."
" With Healing, more than likely it will be close to the beginning. Moral issues in society have plagued the development of our knowledge in that feild." Marill said.

"The option you think best is fine. It is better to learn from a friend in the ways of dealing with others, than to learn from an enemy." Lady Ri-an said.

"I'd rather not have you conflict with your society's morality. Our society accepts healing by magick as completely normal and even necessary...but not all cultures are so."
_____________________________________________________________________
Mith nodded, glancing at a lower-level healer as he brought in a report. There was more work for everyone to do...Kaymiril was currently involved in a war, and that had called away many healers from the Healer's City.
"I will speak to him when I go there later today. In the mean time, is there anything else I might do for you?"
"Its not that, its just that Death powers are illegal and immoral, and some medicinal practices seem to lean into that area. An organ transplant is all well and good, and I think it should be allowed, but the previous sorcerer thought it was immoral and wrong. He thought it was Death magic. The entire problem is, what is death magic, and what is healing? Like, raising the dead to fight for you, is Death magic, closing the wound of another, is healing. We really have trouble defining the two." Marill said.

"Could you help me find a good dress maker? I cannot make another dress, unless I am home, or with my children. This one, is developing seeds and wilting." Lady Ri-an asked hopefully.

"We have issues with organ transplants as well...we've developed many complicated medicines, spells, and procedures to avoid taking organs from the dead for use by the living. We have no issues taking such things as a kidney from a willing donor...but from the dead..."
He shook his head.
"We don't think about it much. Necromancy is punishable by death, but it is also strictly defined."
_____________________________________________________________________
"That is easily arranged, if you don't mind silk, rather than flowers."
He called a younger healer into the room.
"Yarea will take you to the nearest tailor's shop, and get you something there."
He wrote something in Drow, handing it to his subordinate.
"Perhaps as we go along then, you could explain it to me then, what Necromancy is. Now, not so many will die, from Slypher attacks." Marill said.

Eldrad had taken to keeping a close eye on Chainer. As was usual, his prediction had come true; Chainer was afraid. He always had been, and now he was paying the price for hiding it. He sighed,It's always the same when this happens to them
He 'watched' for a moment longer, and then left, his armour letting his form melt into the night as he went to find the Fifth-Level Grey mage who had been talking to Chainer earlier in the day,"You are the one who spoke with Chainer earlier?"

"As far as I can tell, he's driven by guilt. Out of guilt stems his fear. Normally I'd work with his fears, before getting to the guilt...but now I think it is wise to deal with the guilt first."
She hesitated there, setting out little cups that would hold water, to make the clay more moldable.
"He'll need simultaneous training in something else. It wouldn't be right to take away everything he knows he is and replace it with a void."
Snake Eaters
04-02-2006, 22:06

Or perhaps one of your mages, whatever their class."
Kaymiril
04-02-2006, 22:08
"No. I think he needs to pick his own direction. He's misguided, but he's not stupid. When he decides he needs a new direction, he will not be long in choosing one."

Chainer ws wide awake by this time, and he knew he would not sleep again this night. He waited out the hours of darkness, and the morning, plagued by those that haunted him still. His mother and father, slain by Arthur Dayne of the Kingsguard, his love, Elia, killed by the Viper, Khamal, dead at his hand...
The afternoon finally came, and he left the room he had occupied in the night, heading for the courtyard where he had met the mage yesterday... He wasn't sure if he would be early, so he took his time getting there.
Kaymiril

"I see I am to make you a dress...what style and color would you prefer?"
"Style, make one similar to this living dress which now slowly dies. For color, I am fondest of green." Lady Ri-an said.
The dress wasn't remarkably had to duplicate with silk. It had no sleeves, and the neck was cut high enough to be modest, yet low enough to attract mild intrest. The dress portion seemed pleated, though that was the way it grew, and the roses seemed soft and smooth, with a row of white petals, going from the middle of her shoulder, to her waistline. The back was nothing special, save for it was cut lower than the front.

OOC: Worked out my grand entrance. Yes, I'm in the mood to put on a show. Does the tower have a parking lot?
IC: The S.S. Freedom's Ransom (http://www.ussmiranda.com/images/ships/sabrewolf1.jpg), a Sabrewolf class escort owned and commanded by Isaac McFly, a distant cousin of the SeaQuestian Emperor, emerged from a Hyperspace Jump Point in orbit of the planet on which the famed White Tower was located. The ship eased into the planet's atmosphere and began heading ground-ward.
The plasma created from atmospheric entry blazed off the sparkling bubble of the ship's shields. By the time the Freedom's Ransom had broken through the cloud layer, the plasma flames had already died out.
The ship came swooping over the landscape on an approach vector towards the Tower Of Hoeth (OOC: According to the first post in the thread, that's the actual name of the White Tower). She extended her landing struts and set down in a field just large enough for her a few minutes walk down the road from the Tower. A section of the ship's ventral area slid open and a ramp descended to the ground.
OOC: Character intro in next post, when I'm more awake.
OOC: Sorry about the delay between posts. Slight connection troubles.
I am surprised nobody noticed the ship landing. Oh well, a little Fluid Time and I can get back into the thread's flow.
IC: A figure appeared at the top of the ramp. The figure was in shadow as the only light source currently active on the underside of the landed Freedom's Ransom was coming from the top of the ramp. The figure strode down the ramp and set foot on the green grass of the field.
A male voice called from above, "Ma'am, you forgot these."
Another figure leans out and tosses something to the first.
"Thanks, Isaac," the first figure replied in an obviously female voice.
The first figure pocketed the item she had been thrown and walks out from under the ship. She blinks as her eyes get used to the change in light level. She then starts walking down the path towards the White Tower, her black dress swishing softly.

She would want what ws best for me, and, until recently, the path I chosehas kept me alive and safe. That is what was best for me." The clay he had been working exploded, not through any magic, but by the simple application of too much force. Gobs of clay went flying across the room as Chainer lost control.

"She's been dead six centuries or more. Her remains have crumbled to dust. Even if she were to revive, the world would be foreign to her. She would be lost, and frightened...and the Oberyn she knew and loved will not be the Oberyn that greets her at her revival."
She collapsed her jar again, pulling a trick she had learned long ago...the dancer.
It created a female form, and would move, even "dance," to the touch of the artist's hand. Clay may not have been her favorite medium...but it was the only one that could do that.
"Most societies believe that the dead play a part in the lives of those who remain. They watch over their family and friends...people they genuinely loved. I think that your refusal to let her go, your stubborn grasp upon the guilt and memory of her death, would have saddened her. Free yourself from the burden you put upon yourself...it would be doing her the one favor she didn't have the chance to ask of you."

Today had gone very well...but she knew that there would be many stumbling blocks in the days to come.
She'd been lucky enough to hit the right nerves today.
After Lucifer had said good-bye to Loki, he decided to go for a walk in the environs of the White Tower. Looking down the path, he saw a odd craft and a woman exit it. Seeing that she was headed to the tower, he decided to go and meet her.
"Wait, where are you going?" Loki asked, though Lucifer had already gone. Being the only person he had met in recent memory that shared any connection or similarities to himself, Loki didn't want to lose him.
Hurrying after Uriel, he quickly noticed the foreign woman appearing. Nervous about her, Loki quickly hid behind Uriel without his knowledge and out of sight.

Cougar approached Eldrad, his children following close behind him. He sat himself down, and waited a moment before speaking,"So many newcomers to the Tower."
"Yes... it is slightly scary."
"You ever get the feeling we're being ousted?"
"I doubt that would happen. We have the expierence that they lack... even you, a man of his early fourties, have more expierence in some areas than mages far older than you."
The blond-haired man nodded, ruffling the brilliant blond hair of his son, a nice contrast to his darkened skin. A result of Human-Drow marriage, the children were an odd mix of four races, thanks to their parents being half of two races. In this case, it was: Drow, Human, Dragon and Eldar. His son looked at him, and then sat on he ground, playing with a caterpillar who had crawled onto his hand,"Dad, it's fuzzy."
"Yep, that's a caterpillar, Barrus."
"Know what it is. Not stupid, like Akor."
His twin sister pipped up,"Hey!"
"Calm down, you two. What would Ma say if she saw you?"
The twins looked at each other, and then at their father, speaking in unison,"She tell us 'Stop'."
"Exactly."
Akor reached out to be picked up, and Cougar complied, lifting her to sit on his lap, before speaking to Eldrad again,"I heard a rumour that Galvenor has scheduled yet another battle."
"Yes, between Uriel and Chainer."
"Who?"
"The newcomer with the purple eyes, over there," he gestured towards the SeaQuestian ship," and the one who was working with the Grey Class."
"Ah, the one driven by guilt."
"That would be the one. We shall have to wait and see if their efforts yield positive results."
The two men, and the two children, sat there, simply talking to each other as the day drew on. To look at them, you would have thought they were mismatched. James Cougar looked about twenty-five, but he was now in his early fourties. Wheras Eldrad looked, in Elven terms, about six hundred years old, but was far older than that. Both carried themselves in a similar manner, as if they had seen and done much that others would not believe.

He went far enough that he hoped the transmission would not be detected, and instructedthe Castellan at Sunspear to send him what had been known to the small-folk as Fang. "It's good to hear he's making some progress at least. But, as you say, it will take a long time in order to completley let go. It is good that you perserve, Quilae."

"What does he think he's doing?"
She was, of course, referring to the spear.
"If you will excuse me..." She teleported down into the courtyard.
"I think one weapon is enough for now."
Maybe even too much.
If he decided to attack her over the spear, there wasn't much she could do. She was an unarmed healer.
But she didn't think of that. She thought of the dangers a spear posed, not only to her patient, but to others that he might be tempted to harm.

He cracked opewn the case, paused for a second, shrugged, and handed her the spear, which, once having a simple wooden shaft, now had a large metallic orb resting below the head, and a new sheen on all the surfaces. "Well... That explains some things..." After giving her the spear, he removed the Chain from his waist, to return it to his room. Where once it had been graced with a shining orb of an unknown metal, there were now only cold black links of iron.

"Hmmm," Loki thought about what they should proceed to do. "Honestly, I think if you want to find a teacher, just ask one... he or she may want you to prove yourself, but other than that there isn't much of a way that I know of."

"The only other thing I can think of beside specialization is that the colour of the robes are indications of rank." Uriel commented thought he was guessing.

Chainer returned to his room, tossed the chain that had become HIM into a corner, and tried to sleep. Sleep failed to come, as his thoughts wandered back to the Spear...
The Mountain. Rhaegar. Aerys. Arthur Dayne... They all died on the point of the Vipers Fang. Screaming in agony as their flesh rotted and their minds broke under the poison... A spear that had been used for centuries by the Martells, hundreds of men had been killed by it, and hundreds more had been killed by The Viper. But, it ws still just a tool. He'd carried it when he slew the Mountain, Gregor Clegane. He'd wielded it against Rhaegar, the Last Dragon. He'd killed Aerys, the Mad King, and Arthur Dayne, his guardsman, during Aerys rebellion. He'd carried it that day...

"The colors of the robes often indicate the type of magick that they are affiliated with," Loki responded. "The length, on the other hand, is an indication of their rank."
"Also, there are a few different cultures represented among the teachers and administrators of the Tower," Loki added, "Each bring their own culture's view and styles of magick."
"I stand corrected, now we must find one with the robes of an instructor and request that he or she trains Robin." Uriel commented

"In my way of casting magick, I am an expert. In yours, however, I know less than your youngest children."
"Would she have wanted for you to hold onto her like that for so long? Or would she have wanted you to remember her living, happy, and in love?"

A man stood under the Ri-an tree. he was dressed quiet diffrently than other Ri-ans. He was dressed in a white business type suite and hat straight from the American 1920's. He walked, with a style a grace all his own. when he got to the gates of the tower, he simply, disappeared, gone, a part of all the energy from Ri-an, which daily came from the tree.
