Is this it? I went back to see what all the fuss is about, and I see it was only this what started it. Why is it that people seem to be offended by that comment? I've not read all this thread so I don't know if she got any worse, but what's wrong with saying someone is unattractive. I don't agree with her, I do see two of them to be very attractive. I have no problem with her saying that though, if that's what she thinks. Okay, it wasn't a nice thing to say and most people disagree (myself included) but I am surprised by the strong reactions she got. You are still going on about it now. I can think of many worse things to call someone, she put what she thought in the politest way possible.

Before Rommels 'Recon in force' he didn't have the resources too.
In regards to 8th Army's Succesful attack of Late October early November he didn't have the resources to do ground recon and DAF only allowed him to see what they wanted him to see using Aerial Recon.
I can't remember the name of the operation that disguised 8th Army's positions the dummy tanks airfields pipelines etc but it was a masterstroke.No, I know he had tons of supplies at Tobruk, but he didn't do proper aerial recon, iirc. Depended on the point in the campaign. In the end, Rommel's armor didn't have enough fuel to continue the battle. He wasn't being properly supplied or reinforced.

'cant remember').

At this point Rommel thought 'oh crap' and turned around to deal with the Kiwi's.
At the Battles scenes of Ed Daba, Bel Hammed and Ruweisat ridge we gave as good as we got but in the face of Armour we lost a whole Brigades worth of soliders.

But more to the point we did alone what no one else could do.:cool:
Rommel won a Tactical victory but lost strategically, having to retreat to Gazala but in only a month or 2's time he was pushing east again into what would become Alamein.

In regards to Rommel being a poor Logistician(???) he didn't have a choice in attacking or defending, 8th Army was getting more supplies and if he didn't attack as early as possible he would have been crushed.
He couldn't exactly withdraw either because of his fuel shortage.
I cannot remember which month but in that month his supplies of fuel went down to 20% of incoming supplies from what they were previously.

Kesselring promised 500 cubic litres of fuel for DAK he sent over 500 but only about 100 actually reached the front forces the rest being used in transit.:(

I do actually identify most with Libertarians. And I'm approaching an-capism, although I haven't quite gone that far yet, being a realist and everything. Anarcho-anythingism is bound not to work.


I've never really understood how it's possible to role-play wars and what not. I mean, I'm into strategy games, but if someone comes up with a better tactic or whatever, couldn't the weaker forces just say something like "we fell neatly into the ambush, but the raw passion and valor of our warriors coupled with their individual weapon proficiency enabled them to slice through their opposition, despite being vastly out-numbered 100-1?" Because that sort of thing would become very irritating.

I was a die-hard anarcho-capitalist for about a week when construction on a main road in my city slowed down traffic by 45 minutes; I'd bitch to anyone who was in the car with me about how we needed to privatize roads. But I'm somewhat more rational now, and still acknowledge that even supporting Libertarianism is pretty futile, what with them not being corrupt enough at this time to attain any measure of actual power. At this point, it's more for the benefit of being able to claim I was right in the end.

I've also noticed that no one seems willing to support the Libertarian party if they don't agree with every platform entirely. I have met countless people who, after realizing that Libertarianism was much more than eating babies and fucking dogs, said they agreed with the ideals and would vote accordingly were it not for whatever sub-issue. People "settle" all the time when they vote Republican or Democrat, as most seem to agree with only about half the platforms of those parties, so why Libertarianism is different is beyond me.

I guess I'll go look at those forums in a bit just to see how it all functions. I honestly cannot fathom getting any real satisfaction, though, seeing as how my views on war and battle are pretty romanticized--I never get tired of watching my Alexander the Great DVD depicting his successful campaigns at great disadvantages because of how he was able to inspire/dishearten. But that's neither here nor there. I just don't see how it'd be possible for two or however many people to objectively agree upon how many troops each has, to whom is benefited more by the terrain, the reactivity speed of armies, etc.

But yeah, I'll go check it out, and thanks for bothering to explain terminology with me. I'm really clueless about all of it. :cool:

That's also the same moment I lost faith in our education system, since she taught honors. :(
