AoM is good too, except that I don't like its population limits. With Rise of Nations, I edited the programming code of the game to change the pop cap from 200 to 100,000. The game isn't built for that though, so at around 1800ish, when you want to make more units, they don't appear for some reason.

Due to the ongoing situation we're all aware of involving me through several alliances, I shall have to take a leave of absence as an active ESS mod. I simply need to batten down my RP hatches and prepare for the very worst if what I fear happens, and with my off-site regional duties soon to balloon that only goes double.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to that, as it would give me something interesting to do. Hell, I was halfway finished with the intro post by that point; I still have it saved somewhere around here if I ever need it.

It is true that he has exams that will inevitably take up most of his time; this is the exam season, which may be why ESS business has slowed down so much. But hell, I have exams too, and I at least manage to get a word in every now and then. I'm disappointed that Eralineta can't even manage that much; a sentence of two every few weeks isn't so hard. if he doesn't have the time to play as China in ESS, he oughta drop the claim so that someone who does have time can do something with it instead, simple as that. By the time he's finished with exams and ready to RP again, there'll probably be another Earth in which he can claim China again anyway. Just my thoughts.

Edit: I was trying not to Godmod, but I had no choice but to RP their losses as I have waited for a long time...I understand that there was confusion for who to RP it, but if Candistan is doing it, then my last post should give you something to work from.

Oh, and one more thing. The FBR is NOT going to have a 10% population military. I am going to downsize in a little bit. I prefer quality over quantity, and the way I see it is that all of you guys with a 10 million man armies will most likely suffer horribly from a massive chain of command, extremely poor training, and a huge lack of equipment.

When the information is widely aviable I'll get my crazy Pope to denouce it - he'll be quite a big RPer for me in the build up at least to the invasion, as he will completely disagree with all alien thing, and maybe rustle up some Catholic demostrations against the governments lies about the aliens - and there's a lot of Catholics in the world. He'll also be used as Rome is one of the cities I plan to be attacked.

As for my government, I doubt they'll say much publically on the issue mostly behind the scenes stuff until Europe is hit. I don't really care about what alien type it is, I'll leave that to the more creative people who actually care ;)

Well, you see, the Bosporous is a UR base, 20 block out in each direction from the base is UR territory for settlers and workers. There is a prison camp in the East side of the city and a 1/3 mile buffer zone between the outermost Western UR Wall and the Kampferian side of the city.

On a side-note, i've heard the question asked, and i'll repeat it: what kind of aliens are these going to be? I've never played Gears of War (i'm one of those old farts that still hasn't moved beyond my N64 and original Playstation, neither of which get much playing time compared to my SNES), so i've got no idea what's going on. Cast it in Starcraft terms - small buglike Zerg or tough warrior Protoss?

Either way, they need to have the technology to go Independence Day on major cities with little to no effort. Totally badass.

Yeah, your basic GEARS overview is a conglomerate of a bunch of Humanoid Subterranean guys, wretch-like loping things, flying squid-like creatures, big heavy gun-totting Brumak apes, large insectoid Corpsers and Seeders, and of course, everyone's favorite man-eating bats, the Kryll.

I can let you have most of the way (since most of your cities, besides Lagos, are light pops). Besides, I don't have you scheduled for the opening attack run

Washington D.C., Oslo, St. Petersburg, and Tokyo (if Courbornne can't make it much, I can switch that up for Johannesberg possibly, or New Delhi).

Alien preferance post coming up in just a sec (I'm going to make the poll about what the core of the aliens [essentially, the basic structure] should be, and then just state what you really want to see in a post in the poll thread and I'll include the best of those in the invasion conglomerate).

I still think Vampyr on Alien fighting would be quite awesome.

If it is at all possible, AB, I want Moscow to be the target for a massive ground attack later on. I plan to have one of the largest and costly ground battles of the war there involving heavy use of trenches and other hastily thrown up defenses.

Helghast (Tight as hell) + Locust (Also tight as hell, especially the Theron) = ultimate badass killing machine!

Mandalorians or Covenant would actually work the best, mainly because they have to distinct styles that lend themselves well for Conquest.

The Mandalorians want to find an opponent who is their Equal, while the Covenant want to Conquer the Galaxy to find information on the Forerunners.

Most of the Locust aren't really scary. Mandalorians are scary because they are nigh unbeatable in combat. Well atleast they usually are.

I'm dubbing the group itself as the "Amalgamation"-a classy word for a melting pot-and the leading race (essentially the prophets of this "Amalgamation) as the Progenitors (Ancestors, or in context, original race).

I'll make an OOC post sometime soon that will serve as a sort of factbook for these guys and detail out the races, ships, weapons, culture and religion, etc.

Well, I'm actually back now insofar as updating claims goes. My situation's a lot calmer, so by next week I should be fine for ESS stuff unless Vetaka's war with Clandonia Prime gets out of hand somehow and grows beyond Haven to threaten my interests proper. In which case, my RP time goes all to that again and we're back to square one here.

But for now, just keep it going AB and TG me if you need any claims voided or to discuss any flaming incidents and the like. I blew a bundle of cruise missiles at the DR and Haiti, who (RPed by Granate) promptly surrendered as I was in the middile of blowing up four cities.

Alien findings? My gov't has yet to really find them. Also, anyone can find them now (read the new post). They're right by the moon, and more than the NAR has telescopes. Especially when something essentially the size of High Charity (which is what Core Habitat in that post essentially is) shows up and starts blocking moonlight.

Well, since my nation is an authoritarian one, I have three percent of my total population in the military which comes out to be a little over 3.6 million people. I put a lot of money into defense and since I produce all of my own weapons, it lowers the price down quite a bit. Nations that aren't well supplied in natural resources and armaments with huge militaries tend to be underequipped, but an underequipped army can alwasy have that chance to hold its own against a technologically powerful one.

I have increased numbers to compensate for my lack of a National Guard (I think it says something about a Home Guard in my factbook, but disregard that). So essentially, it's still the same, but I'm increasing my national guard to full-time (it doesn't affect the numbers all too much-it's still around a total of 1.8 mil military.

Yeah, on my new genetic research project for the air force, Project: Omega Kappa, I have had one survivor of the experiment. I basically pumped the subjects fuill of hGH, mental stimulators and implants to increase bone mass, muscle, and High-G survivability.

That wasn't the real number for my military. It was a placeholder and I will update it.

All the ones in Europe are taken (Andorra and Monaco are included as part of Spain and France really) - however , Greenland, Oman and United Arab Emirates may be open. Lebanon would launch you into a war possibly, and Kazakhstan I'm not so sure about...but we'll say it's Russia's or at least too much under there influence to even bother to take.

Also, there is Silvado's lands...Egypt, Yemen, Saudi Arabia. I recommend taking Egypt, Yemen, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Oman and United Arab Emirates (Greenland is a bit out on it's own) and forming quite a powerful group of countries, who will basically we the sole power in the Middle East.

Hundreds of billions including a bunch of little things that one can mow down with an MG with ease (I mean, look how easy it is to kill the Flood in Halo 2-now transfer that concept to the Infectors of the Amalgamation. Same concept).

The actual "tough guys" are in small numbers. The majority is Infectors or non-combat.

Yeah, but in one of your posts you mentioned the Infectors can change shapes and forms to let bullets go through them...I thought that the aliens had to shoot the infector with a special bullet/gun to kill it, otherwise it wouldn't affect it. Or maybe part of that was in your factbook? I think so. I understand that the flood ws easy to kill - but in number (especially hundreds of billions vs. 7 billion here - and our militaries don't even make a billion) they are effective. Maybe a rock, but you can't even see a bullet move-and neither can these guys. Once a bullet gets 'em, they're toast. It's too fast for something like that to intercept. I just mentioned "kinetic impact", meaning that maybe if you rolled a boulder at them, they might be able to latch on and slip around-but not shrapnel, or missiles, or the like.

As for the Flood: don't know about you, but with one SMG I found them easy on Halo 2 even on Heroic level...
