*Raven watched as the cat walked over to stand by its master,she held the knife at her side waiting, as soon as the mans breathing began to return to normal, she stept out from behind the bar, the cat turned and groweled at her but she just stood still waiting for the man to wake back up*

Gunfire broke the silence.

A young kid running through the rubble of a broken building was the only thing of note. He held in his hands an FNP-90. Blood sprayed the air as another burst of fire came from the weapon. A rattling tore into the already havoc sounds of bombs and gunfire. A fine mist of blood was emmited from the childs arm, and upper body. The trigger squeezed and the second rattling stopped. The kid stopped to take a rest, blood streaming down his body. Several other children ran past him, and he stood back up, and continued on his way.

He ran up some diplapidated stairs and into a room that viewed a majority of the city. He glanced around and saw a dead child holding a rifle, he picked it up and took aim as best he could with his injured arms.

Sight alignment, sight picture, Right between the eyes. A slow steady squeeze and another....."

The man woke up with a start, gripping his weapon.

"Enough with the games, another trick like that and I will kill you," the man bellowed, ignoring the newcomer.

I'm sure it would be much easier for you to get answers without threatening to kill everyone you speak to.

look i dont know what i made you see, and i dont want to know eather but that is what you get for threatening me, and i can not help what you have go through in the past but it is no reason to go through life waving you gun in order to get what you want

well i have news for you, if you ask people nicely they will tell you more than if you threaten them.

Will entered the club in a better frame of mind. The struggle with the elements yesterday was just what he needed.

The place, again, showed signs of heavy evening usage. More blood on the bar...whoa...finds a shot glass rimmed with red. Unconsciously licks his lips and swallows a sudden mouthful of siliva. Forces himself to set down glass.
quietly chants his centering mantra...

turns on grill, starts a stew in the pot.

retireves a sawed-off double barrelled shotgun out of his pack, opens breech, cleans the bore with a wire brush, runs cloth swatch down both barrels. Loads two buck and ball cartridges, snaps breech shut. Places loaded firearm under the counter, within easy reach, and covers with linen towel...

"Nicer weather today, maybe a bigger crowd"

She woke curled on her side next to the bed, but didn't move right away. The wooden floor and scent of the sea made her feel more like she was back at the helm. A gray light shone through the window, filtered through a thin layer of clouds. She'd dreamt of her father, what she imagined him to look like. Shaking the bittersweet image from her mind, she uncurled slowly and stretched. Her mouth was dry. Donning her usual effects, she yawned and sauntered off towards the bar and its kitchen.

*The sun was just beginning to show as Orchid woke and it promised to be a fine day.*

I hope that is a good omen........

As Will worked at his breakfest he caught a glimpse of the castaway walking up the path from the cabanas. He admired her person, although it was not shown off to its best advantage with that sea-dog walking gait. He laughed at himself, "old fool, if she didn't kill you trying to get on; you'd probably kill yourself ..." She had a hard look to her though, but that was okay too..for it was a hard world and only the strong survived.

*jumps in through a window and tacklehugs Orchid*

Stifling another yawn, she entered the bar proper, chuckling to herself quietly as one woman attacked another. Old friends, no doubt. She smiled a greeting to the gentleman as well, but made her way to the bar for some water before all else.

Grins right back, but veils it thinly. Picking out a chunk of meat, she was happy to see it appeared tender and not at all dried. Sampling it confirmed the examination. Happily, she set about making short work of the meal.

She hadn't touched the old flint-lock, nor the cutlass, but he would certainly understand. Unrolling the paper, she smoothed out the waxed surface and lay it on a nearby table.

She watched LP while speaking, but the offer seemed to be addressed to the others as well, if only to a lesser extent.

"It's settled then. And I may have support from the gypsy as well. Once he sees the gold I've left him anyhow."

A clean shaven fellow, with a definitive high and tight haircut entered the bar. His Utility uniform suggested he was a soldier, perhaps a US Marine judging from the hair. He carried with him a lone duffel bag, that had let out mettalic chings whenever it moved too harshly.

He looked around the room and saw it was nearly empty, only a single lady loitering around. He took a seat at the bar when a large dog, perhaps a wolf came running up beside him, and sat down.

She eyed the soldier over her bottle of rum. Reflex dropped a hand to the hilt of her cutlass, but only as a precaution. Setting down the bottle, she nodded a somewhat stoic greeting.

"Evening.."

"Good evening," he said.

This man has lived his life a soldier, known no other path really. Trained from a lad to be the ultimate killing machine, just as all his fellow country men had. Five years of bootcamp, and three years of specialized training. He was a Nofian soldier, a mercenary.

"Know where I can find gainful employment?"

With that said he got up, grabbed his bag, and went to a more private area.

As I was talking to Raven, I recieved a phone call. Some one had tipped that my hit was coming, and a revenge killing had been set up. One of my associates was dead. The hunters were now the hunted. Predator to Prey"

"He is associated with a local kingpin. Word is, my employers and their employees now have praticulary large bounties on our heads."

He opened his bag and pulled out a Famas, and a five seven. He stuck the five seven onto his belt ,and popped a clip in the Famas.

"For a job like this I'll accept payment after you are safe. So are you jsut looking for protection, or do you want me to kill a whole lotta people?"

*Pulls out his lighter and a cigarette. Blows smoke deeply and simply responds:
"I was never given the order to call off the hit"

"However you wanna work this, just let me know."

*Picks up cell. After a few minutes of conversation with an unknown, once agian faces the man on the other side of the table.
"Ok. My original price for the hit was 15k. Since the killings, it has been upped to 25k. However my target is suspected to be in a "safe house" in an unknown location. But, there are new targets now. Bigger fish. The kingpin is walled up behind a legion of his guards, but he has men in less safer locations. His eyes on the streets. I was informed to make him blind. 10k per target taken out. There are at least 5 of these men in the area, that are known to be the eyes. I am expecting a file sent to my computer with more information in a matter of moments."

He nodded, then set his weapon down. He then walked over and put his arm around the shoulder of the guy and said.

"We need to have a heart to heart talk. You definatly want some advice from someone who's been in this field for many years."

I had never been so cold in my life. The night was pitch black when they finally arrived with our money. As soon as my partner opened up the suitcase, him and the other were engulfed inflame that threw me off my feat. The window on the Russian car lowered as the betrayers got in. AK-47 rung like bells. It is a pity you won't live to see tommorow, You just need some training on tactics and you would have made a great soldier, but a single slip up and it cost you your life."

Five other soldiers ran in, wearing bullet proof vests and carrying various weapons, the most prominant being an M-240.

Any hunt for me is unlikely, as even if it resulted in my death, those responsible would not only pay, they would lose everything they have, and live a nice long life in the torture facilities of NoF."

He pulled the trigger and felt the gun jump as the bullet entered the skull of the target. He smirked as blood, skull, and brain sprayed the area. He started walking away as a bullet shattered the window, and planted itself in the couch Raven was sitting on. He didn't even flinch when the glass broke.

"That would be my asociate. He wanted to kill you, but I gave him explicit orders not to. He's a very good shot with that PSG-1 of his, and I know he missed on purpose."

Will was early. He hadn't slept well and had roamed the beach for hours. When he got to the club it was once again a shambles. Efforts had been made to clean it up; but there were fresh bullet holes in the walls and windows, and a little grey matter mixed with hair peeked out from under one of the tables. Ought to rename this place the "Bloody Bucket".

checked under the counter to see if the barkeep's buddy was still there. It was. Opened breech, checked cartridges, snapped it shut. Put it back in its place.

ah, humanity.

It was going to be a strong coffee morning. and something special to eat... flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, an egg, some milk, mixed well, poured batter into pan, topped with cinnamon, brown sugar and multiple pats of butter, placed in oven.

He was on his second cup of coffee and the aroma from the oven filled the club. The smell of cigerettes, booze, blood, and death retreated. The first streaks of daylight crossed the sky.

The breakfest cake was finished and Will placed it on a wire rack in the window to cool. The scent of cinnamon was caught by the breeze and carried down the beach....

All the sack contained was a couple of pieces of driftwood and a small length of rope....not much to be done with that easily!

As she walked she thought about Jayne, and the little rhyme.......

The club was suddenly in front of her, and there was Will.....sound asleep in a makeshift hammock.

Orchid grinned to herself, and walked over to him.

With a quick movement, the hammock had tipped, and Will lay sprawled on the ground.*

Wait.....I found something today whilst I was beachcombing.....it's a piece of wood.....some writing on.

I can't make out the letters though, I think it has been in the sea for too long!

She took the piece of wood and studied it. It had been well-worn, indeed. She presumed it to be once part of a bow, but the engravings were nearly weathered away. She could only make out the shape of a single letter.

"It seems to be an 'R,' but I can't be certain..."

She racked her brain... trying to remember what ships would have been near this area or her own for the current to bring it here.
