With the rum in hand, she wound her way along the beach to the grotto she'd found earlier. Carefully, she climbed down the slick rocks to the sea-smoothed gravel below. She'd a portion of keel pulled up onto a few boulders and moored with a length of old rope. When the tide rose, it lifted the floating mess off the rocks, which would prove handy later. The port and starboard sides of the hull looked in decent repair, if not a little short on quantity. From prow to stern, the little craft was only 18-20 feet or so. But with a little work, she'd be seaworthy.

I think Rambos been doing Meg an injustice.

She tied one end of a length of rope around the end of a tree trunk she'd cut and trimmed to serve as a sort of mast. The other she held between her teeth as she climbed the grotto walls to an outcropping in the ceiling she could use for a hook. Cursing, she held her loose end and let herself fall, hoping to raise the mast. One end raised about 2 feet before she hung suspended, neither the mast nor her moving. In a string of curses and swearing none but a pirate could think to utter, she shimmied down the line and pulled with all her might, to no avail. This would have to wait for the next turn of the tide. Pulling the rope tight as she could, she tied it off around a sturdy stalagmite, lest she lose the small bit of effort acheived. Leaving her boots with the rigged up boat, she jogged back to the beach house.

Annoyed, and without so much as a word, she scoured the grounds for a few more pieces of rope, and jogged with them back to the grotto.

So that's why we take others' ships instead of building our own..

However, from this spot she could see another and Meg was walking there with a man. She only saw his back before she walked past towards the club. Meg went along to the ballroom, hung the punchbag up, she put on some heavy rnb with a loud booming bass and started to punch the bag violently, she screamed and grunted everytime she punched it.

Meg came back from the ballroom purring like a pussycat, all her anger had been punched out of her, she looked very hot and sweaty, she grabbed some water and sat outside to cool down.

Off collecting shells? Any new beauties you want to share?

Scampering down the grotto once more, she tied one rope to the starboard rail, and one to port. These ropes, she tied tightly to the sides, trying to take the high tide mark into consideration. Hopefully, these would keep the boat from swinging and thereby fail her little plan. She took note of the current conditions, keeping in mind when high tide would roll in. She'd have to come back and adjust the mast line once tide was in completely. She killed the bottle of rum, and tried to think if there was anything to be done, but the next stages all hinged on the mast. She'd have to wait.

Sliding on her shoes, she climbed out of the grotto a final time for at least the next few hours, and set off back towards the club. Hopefully, she could scare up a meal.

Meg got her car keys and drove up to the house, she collected some clothes, various items of specialness to her, she then drove down and moved into the cabana - bringing all of Promise's things too.

*It turned out to be a very successful evening for sketching. People she had never seen before came in and out and she managed to quietly sketch all of them. Especially interesting was that most of them appeared to be old friends of the 'regular' group that had been away for a time.*
