Mai-lee went back inside and started to tidy up and hoover and tidy the place up - she sprayed some summer fruits air freshner around to make the place less dull , she lit some aromatic candles also to bring more light to the place.

She made a quiet enterance carrying an empty potato sack in one hand. Around her waist was a long sash concealing the muzzle of her pistol, which was tucked into the fabric much the way it had been through the scabbard belt days before. Without so much as a word, she stalked back into the kitchen.

"As many times as I've seen him do that... it never gets any less impressive."

She caught the gypsy before he could fall and do himself any damage on the rocks, and dragged him up onto the small deck. It was really less of a deck so much as the inside of the hull. Forward of the mast, she'd fashioned a sort of foredeck, which was really nothing more than a flat piece of wood secured from the prow back about 7 feet from port to starboard rail. However under it formed a makeshift cabin to protect cargo or perhaps a passanger from spray off the waves. She pulled Ju into this small dry area, then made herself comfortable at the stern. When tide rose enough to lift her small craft free of the rocks, she'd shove off.

Well, that was a bit disconcerting to Matt, as he walked forward and... well, he was attempting to follow Mai, and he could see a bit. When the person you're following disappears, you get concerned. He walked forward and nearly slipped in with her, but managed to keep his balance.

Money isn't everything, and neither is love. You'll be able to deduce that one day, I just can at this young age because I go to psychology school. Everyone's trying to discover the meaning of life there.

Just thought I could help. I recommend that you do exactly what I did when he's annoying Mailee.

And it's usually better for the other male to stay out of the situation. Too many male hormones just makes everyone go crazy. Makes the males tempers flare, and the females get pissy and hormonal. Then it's all crazy.

she wrapped her gown around her body and went to the door, she opened the door and peeked out, her heart pounding.

Well, either Cuneo still had a key, or it was someone else with a key. When the door opened, it was clear that it was Matt.

"It's just me. Don't worry..." he said quietly, locking the door after him.

a wave of relief washed over her, she stepped back and wrapped her arms around his shoulders.

As tide rose and lifted the sloop off the rocks, she crawled forward and cut the lines mooring her to the grotto. Surprizingly, the ship did not fall apart with this gesture. The next test would come when she unfurled the sails. Somehow, she managed not to bash the craft to pieces on the rocks, and drifted out into green water. Climbing forward, she checked on the still-sleeping Ju, then set her sails. However the current had carried her abreast of the waves and into a cross-wind. Bad news for her rigging. A strong breeze and cresting wave nearly rolled the boat before the gaffsail swung shoreward to compensate for the wind. Clinging to the ratlines, she crept aftward to control the rudder. Finally, she managed to bring the bow around and diagonal to the mounting waves. The little ship was under control.

Pleased that her construction and all its slipshod rigging held, she sailed away from the island to wait out the incoming tide past the breakers.

a wave of relief washed over her, she stepped back and wrapped her arms around his shoulders.

"Don't worry. Just get some sleep. That's all. Sleep," he said, carrying her towards the bed.

Mai smiled, she let him lay her down, she pulled him onto her and switched the light off

*he sat high above the water's edge, the cold breeze chilling his face. the sky was just beginning to illuminate the water far below and he squinted in the faint light. he thought he saw...a ship...bobbing on the waves...*

Will returned from his journey in a good frame of mind, which instantly changed as he entered the club and saw it was in a shambles. Appearantly someone had freaked out and trashed the place. He was surprised the JuNi or someone else hadn't cleaned up the mess. Removing his coat and rolling up his sleeves he proceeded to straighten up the clubhouse. He retrieved the chair that had been thrown through the window. Rearranged the tables. Swept up the broken glass and replaced the pane. Checking under the bar he insured his barkeep's buddy was loaded and handy. He kindled a new blaze in the fireplace. He brewed some coffee and settled down at the bar with the morning paper. The place was quiet. After fighting the city crowds the last couple of days he enjoyed the solitude.

Nobody was stirring from the cabanas or upstairs rooms. Nobody was passed out on the floor.

He chuckled , and said aloud,
"anyone want some rum?"
