She uncurled from the corner of the couch, blinking sleepily into the pillow. Sitting up, Noire ran a hand messily through her short hair, and turned to the fireplace, which was dying down to a few embers.
Her finger swept down and tapped the hearth, which flared up with dark fire once more before she, in an attempt to get up, rolled off the couch and hit the floor. A muffled, "Ow," rose from the floorboards.
