' i didnt realise it was snowing outside!' Meg said, she disappeared and came back with logs and light the fire in the fireplace, it was soon roaring.

she sat on the sofa next to Kreige looking longingly at him then into the fire. Promise was sound asleep.

Meg came back with Promise.

'I hear my name, no bad stuff i hope?' she said questioningly.
We were just saying how well you did with the ball yesterday is all!

well, err, no. I didn't think of mince pies. I could probably find the makings but they'd take a while to bake. If you're hungry now I'm afraid Ham and Hash Browned potatoes would have to do.

Look honey I realize I've been a terrible guy. Until I lost all that money, I thought I was it. I was wealthy, good looking, smart, I had everything. I was wrong.

Most of my stuff was repossessed at auction this morning, but I had some guys bring some things over to the club, I'll tell them to put it there.

I'm such an idiot. They're tracing this crash in my company stock to a corporate fraud case I got jailed in. Apparently there's more than I thought I got busted for.

Mailee, I'm never working again. I don't deserve too. A friend of mine in Italy told me he knows I have $40M of honestly earned money on his island that I left in a bank there years ago. Everyone turned me in but him. He kept the $40 million and it's still mine.

Now it's not that I don't have any money at all anymore, it's that I don't have as much, and I have no respect that comes from the money.

Noire rolled her eyes, still facing the fireplace.

Meg's still up to all her old crap. She pressed a finger into the ashes she'd swept into the dustpan, and they burst into flame before disappearing. Standing, she sighed, and gazed at the empty, darkened hearth. Touching the index finger of her left hand to the hearth, the logs swirled with dark light, and black flames blazed up inside the fireplace. Noire smiled a little wanly at the sight. More and more like home, I suppose.

Turning back to the bar area, she strode into the kitchen and hung up the dustpan and brush in the closet. A rag adorning the sink was put to use, as she picked it up and ran it under hot water, adding a tiny spot of suds to the mix. Returning to the front, she began to wipe down the bar counter, and the shelves. Pulling out and rotating each bottle of wine, she cleaned them all before going to the kitchen and once more returning, this time with a bucket full of suds and stiff brush. Dropping to the floor, she proceeded to scrub the wooden floor behind the counter.

she smiled and they sat there in silence for a while, she then took his hand.
'lets go back, i need to find Promise' she said,

*looks up and sees the black flames in the fire place*

Noire stood up, the floor finally in a decent state, and stretched her back tiredly.

Hearing a faint, "Hello?" from the direction of the fireplace, she glanced over, short, white hair swirling around her face. "Raven?"

Dropping the brush into the bucket and picking it up, she grinned. "Hey! How're things?"

she smiled and they sat there in silence for a while, she then took his hand.

he stoped her for a moment and placed his left hand over the broach there is a bright flash of light and then it faded Kreige steps back and takes her hands. "now I can protect you even when I am not with you."

It almost looks like it used to, when Ju was here all the time.

She nodded to Raven. "That's good; I'm doing all right. I had to take a long leave of absence. A friend of mine needed assistance with a personal matter, and we had somewhat of a falling out.

So I left, and I'm back again." Noire shrugged at the conclusion of her brief story, and wandered over to the sofa. "I wonder if my books are still all here." She pulled up the cushions, and Hamlet, Dante's Inferno, Pride & Prejudice, and several other familiarly worn covers met her eyes. She grinned, and dropped the cushion over them again before curling into the corner of the couch. "Life goes on."

My company stock crashed today in the wake of a monetary felony investigation of me.

I can't pay the fines they've already given me. I can't give the money back. I pretty much had to declare bankruptcy, all I've got is $40 million that I sent for safe keeping to a small island that a friend of mine owns with a private bank on it.

I used to be a dishonest jerk and now I got paid back for it. I think I'm a better person without the billions though.

Meg wandered down with her gown on, she went through to the kitchen and came back with two cups of tea.

Will left his cabana shortly before dawn and walked through the snow to the clubhouse. turning on the lights he noticed that, although there were some scattered used dishes, someone had taken great efforts to clean the place up. Putting on the coffee to brew, he tidied the bar area and tackled cleaning out the hearth of the fireplace. After removing the ashes, he kindled a new fire and soon had a merry blaze going. Pouring himself a goodly sized mug of joe he settled in one of the comfy chairs and allowed his mind to wander where it might.
