Joshua sighed. "Don't be stupid patrick." he looked to Methua. "Bring us back to your original maze, without my alterations. Your job is to get through it like a normal human. No going through, over, or under walls. No altering the maze, and you have to follow the entire path to the center."

Methua raised an eyebrow. "Are you saying you want to fight me?" He asked increduosly.

"Bingo. One on one fight, Mano e Mano." Like it was drilled into him in boot, Patrick didn't drop into a stance. CQC, fast, deadly, damn near unpredictable The instructors words still echoed in his head, probably because his arms was snapped like a rotten twig.

Methua shrugged. They were then at the beggining of the maze, without Joshua's alterations. He glanced at Joshua. "You do realize that I created this maze,right?"

Cecilia shrugged. "Alrighty then. I'll be here if you need me, or feel the need to be surrounded by children." With that, she went inside and closed the door. Mecca turned to Medunia. "So, anywhere in particular you want to see?"

"Anywhere you would recommend? I just need a place to clear my thoughts." said Medunia.

"You realize I said 'as a human would' right?" Joshua asked. "And you also realize that I can modify it once we get in there." Zena began to wake. "Ah, good, just who we needed. I'll have Zena send you a message on when to start. Your goal is to get through the maze and get to the real me in the center." Joshua said, as the rest were whisked to the center of the maze. "Any questions?"

Mecca grinned. "I know of just the place lass. They just managed to perfect the Garden of Life, as it is called. Normally we wouldn't use such modern technology, but we couldn't think of any other way to get flowers and such to grow up here."

Methua shrugged. "Ready when you are Joshua."

Mecca grinned. "I know of just the place lass. They just managed to perfect the Garden of Life, as it is called. Normally we wouldn't use such modern technology, but we couldn't think of any other way to get flowers and such to grow up here."


"Okay, show me where the Garden of Life is." said Medunia.

Mecca nodded. "This way." He led her down several hallways, until they were outside again. He then led her to a different building, this one of a much different sort than the barracks. It was beautifully crafted out of a pure white marble. "This is the building where the Garden is kept." Mecca told her. "Took us forever to build this damned thing, as crafters werewolves are not."

"We might want to find somewhere to rest for the night." said Rollins looking up at the sky, it was getting darker.

"If that works for you. I think I saw a cliff side over here we could take shelter next to. There are plenty of trees to make a temporary shelter there." The angel pointed off into the woods. "Follow me." He walked off into the woods, somewhat slowly.

Aozora frowned. "No clue. Tal is sleeping, and none of the rest except you can fly." He thought for a second. "I could always sneak ahead and scout it out. My years in the Vatican have made my skills kinda rusty, but I figure its like riding a bike, you never forget."

OOC: Seems like a good explanation for Tal's absence to me.

OOC: I said Angel's don't need sleep earlier... usually he just does because he wants to, by purely choice.... but I'll go with it, it seems like an interesting angel. Angle, pardon me.:)

IC: Tal woke slowly, just barely opening up his eyes. We're still at the maze, but.... we're was in the middle now, and.... Methua is outside? Tal tried to think back. I remember something about.... Guildo? No, that must have been a dream. Tal's eyes shot open. A dream?! I was asleep? But, I.... I don't need sleep! The only time angels sleep is when they want to! Tal looked around. It seemed like he was bored to everybody who would have noticed him, but inside his mind was racing. No, it must be... must be something else.

Aozora noticed Tal was awake, and grinned. "Hey sleepy head, awake finally? You know, this really seems like it would be a bad time to go to sleep."

Tal just shrugged. "Everything seems fine enough." He was trying to stay calm on the exterior, and doing a good job of it too.

Aozora laughed. "You may as well stop with the charade mate." He tapped his nose. "I can smell emotions to a certain degree, and you are anything but calm mate."

Tal took a breath. "I didn't say anything about me. You should know, angels don't lie. I was just saying that everything about the current happenings seemed fine. Sorry if I wasn't specific."

Aozora grinned. "Wasn't talking about what you said pal. I'm talking about how apparently calm you are. Look, if you don't want to tell me whats bothering you, I'm not going to pry. You just may want to know that I'm perfectly aware, that on the inside, you're in turmoil."

Tal shrugged again. "I'm an angel. Calm is just what I do. And don't mind me, it's nothing you have to worry about." I suppose I should have though of disguising my presence and emotion earlier. Oh well, too late now.

Aozora shrugged. "Hey, just asking. Think of it as friendly worry. And don't blame yourself either. I know you are very good at disguising stuff, but like I said, with me, its simply smell. And I'm not certain anyone who has never smelled emotion before would be able to disguise it."

OOC: Wait, Tal thought the part in italics.... and not out loud.

OOC: I know, but you have to remember that despite how idiotic he may act at times, Aozora is actually extremely intelligent. Not only does he know damn near everything there is to know about history, hes an accomplished psychologist. He knew from Tal's personality that he would blame himself for not thinking of masking it.

Tal shrugged again. "I should still be more subtle than that. I am older than earth, you know." Tal glanced up at Aozora. "It's not logics, its statistics. I had 100 men, I ended up with three. Clearly there was a problem with my judgment. That's why I don't think I should be trusted to determine the fate of others, to put it simply."

"I suppose now would be a good time, with everything said and done, to tell you all what my plan was?" Said Sharpshot.

Medunia looked at the flowers closely. She spent so much time in Northern Canada, that she hadn't seen flowers in a long time.
"So tell me. What is life here like?"

Aozora raised an eyebrow. "Think about it mate. Not only were you vastly outnumbered by the demons, you fought not only Satan himself, but two demon gods as well. Considering those odds, I'm honestly amazed that any of us are here right now. That, and you have to remember that you weren't the only one who took losses. The werewolves were involved as well, and werewolves are built for war. The believe that the only honorable way to die, is in a war. And no offense, but when it comes to a one on one match, a werewolf could for the most part tear an angel apart, and they took more casualties then the angels did. Considering all those things, I'd say only a military genius could have pulled away from that with only 97 casualties."

Mecca scowled in mock frustration. "Entirely too peaceful if you ask me. None of the other clans are stupid enough to start a war with us. Its been a while since I've been in a good old fight."

Tal laughed a little. "Your argument sounds very similar to Zena's. It's no wonder you two went and got married. Although she didn't talk about the werewolves so much.... I'm not sure who would win in a fight; contrary to popular belief, we angels don't hunt down the werewolves. But this isn't the time to get into that. Anyway... no, there are many things I could have done different, better, and easily come out with at least half the casualties. I already explained myself to Zena, talk to her." Tal didn't know how to respond to Sharpshot's remark. After all, he had been unconscious, and as far as he knew, they had never left the maze. However, he didn't want to let on as much, so he kept quiet.

Normally it would have broken if somebody half his size had tried to stand on it, but it held as he stood on top, perfectly balanced. He pulled out his blade and began wiping the blood off of it, which was a mix of the demon's blood and his own.

Aozora shrugged, content to leave it at that. He turned to Sharpshot. "Seems to be a rather moot point right now, but go ahead."

Mecca, thought about that. "Well, there aren't enough of us to have all the clans we used to, but there are about three major ones. There is the Blood Clan, which for some reason have converted to worshiping the vampire god, though it beats me why. Honestly, if any were to attack us, it would be them, but, no such luck as of yet. And then we have the Slaughter Clan, which Alehkra tells me is sort of a ressurection of one of the original clans that were around when he was young. Then of course there is us. We claim to be the Moon Clan, though we aren't nearly as religiously intolerant as we would have been in the older days."

"Actually it may give an edge in the future, Celestial can heal people. Umbra, as I can assume Zena has not told you yet, is the one who actually created me. He is the creator of the anti-human weapons. As you should know, becoming an anti-human weapons requires one to die to an extent. So that being said, he and Celestial and Umbra combining their abilities actually allows them to ressurect fallen comrades." Sharpshot explained looking at Aozora, he didn't blink or give any indecation he was fully there, he just focused on Aozora.

The angel shrugged. "Normally yes, angels are good at healing. However, I can't be sure. I've never fought a demon like that before, or seen a weapon like that. But don't worry. I should be fine. Now, you seem very tired. Why don't you get some rest?" He continued to wipe the blood from his blade.

"I think in Britain. I moved around a lot and reached Canada in the 1500s." said Medunia, thought she wasn't really sure.

Slater watched the construction of a semi-fort in the middle of the old city. His small clan has a lot of work to do. His second in command, Westlin, was directing the construction of the fort. But with only eighty-nine workers, he couldn't hope to finish the fort any time soon.

He had sent scouts across the area. Seattle was pretty much empty, except for occasional skulls lying around. Five of his scouts had arrived in Vancouver and stayed there for the day.

He shrugged. "Oh, I was turned some time ago by Cecilia, and so have been with her and her parents ever since. They announced they wanted to revive the glory days of the wolves, and I of course helped. We were in Japan until about seven years ago."

"How did you get across the ocean?" asked Medunia. She took a seventeenth century ship.

Mecca grinned. "We happen to have a certian vampire with us that has the ability to teleport large amounts of people. And after all of the veteran wolves and vampires got here, Alehkra let it be known that he was summoning the wolves to Canada, and they of course obeyed. I'd assume they built ships or somesuch."

Tal suddenly stood up. He looked around intently. When he didn't see Methua, he shouted, "Methua! I'm not sure where this is, but... since this is your challenge, do we all have to be here? I have other business I'd like to take care of right now, so if you don't mind, I'd like to leave, if only for the moment."

Go ahead. the thought was in Tal's head, but obviously came from Methua. I feel no reason for you to stay, so long as you are here when your challenge comes.

Tal grinned a little at this. There's no end to the mind reading with this crowd, is there? Very well, since you seem very able, could you return me to the jet? I will travel to my destination from there. And I suppose you could also retrieve me when my turn comes, couldn't you? I should be back by then however, so it shouldn't be a problem.

There was no answer, but Tal was suddenly on the plane, proving that Methua had no need to touch or even be anywhere near a person in order to teleport them.

Tal blinked. That was easy. He was even more polite about it then Josh usually is. He sighed as he walked off the plane. He looked about in the sky. He jumped into the air, flying off over Canada, thinking, I hope the others don't mind my sudden absence... but too late now, I suppose.

Tal was gliding over Canada. He had received a call from an injured angel who needed assistance with a human who need protection. He could feel the angel's presence. He was getting near.

Mecca laughed. "Good for you lass. As I'm sure you've learned by now, it isn't good to show you're intimidated around wolves, especielly when all the wolves around are very dominant."

Tal saw the bloodied angel sitting on a branch. He landed next to him, and still, somehow, the branch held. He lightly touched his shoulder, and the angel flew off into the sky. Tal glided down to the ground and walked over to Rollins, who was asleep. Well... what should I do with you? Tal bent down and gently picked him up, an arm under his back and one under his legs, doing his best not to wake him.

IC: Tal gently lifted off the ground, and began fly slowly through the air. He was heading for Anchorage, where he believed was the location of most of the surviving humans.

Mecca nodded. "Several, actually. Because of the recent demon war, there are actually more females than males currently." He made it sound as if the reason for this should be obvious. "May I ask why? For curiosity's sake of course."

OOC: Well, Josh challenged Methua to go through his maze without using any of his powers. Aozora and Tal had a little chat.

OOC: To bad I had to leave at the point where I challenged Methua to a fist fight, I would've loved to beat the living snot out of him, with Patrick.

IC: Tal gently lifted off the ground, and began fly slowly through the air. He was heading for Anchorage, where he believed was the location of most of the surviving humans.

Tal sighed. He removed his arm from under Rollin's legs so he could grab the machine gun from him. This left Rollins dangling as Tal was only holding him with one arm wrapped around his chest. "Fight who? Me? Because at this height, I wouldn't recommend shooting me down. Unless you can fly too?"

Mecca led her to the door of the building, and opened it to reveal a much more lavishly decorated place than the headquarters. "This is the woman's quarters. Normally I wouldn't be allowed in here, but I'm sure an exception can be made, seeing as how I'm escorting you around." He told her, and led her to one of the doors, and knocked respectfully. The door opened to reveal a very short woman, probably about five feet tall. Despite being a full two and a half shorter than Mecca, she did not appear intimidated at all as she glared up at Mecca. "And what are you doing here Mecca? You know you're not allowed here." "This is Medunia, shes new here." Mecca answered quickly.

Tal sighed again. He tossed Rollins to his other hand, and did the same with the machine gun, while grabbing the Glock with his right hand. He caught the machine gun with the hand holding the Glock while his left hand caught Rollins in mid-air around the chest. He waited a moment before saying, "Maybe you haven't noticed, but you're really high up, and if I go down, so do you. Besides, there aren't any 'supernaturals' up here. Just us. I suggest you calm down. Just so you know, I'm an angel, and I don't appreciate it when people swear around me."

It was indeed solid all the way around, but just as a precaution, Joshua made the wall thicker and gave it a once over. "He's gotta get through this like a normal human, so don't expect him to try and break anything down. Zena, can you tell him it's time to go?"
She nodded. We're ready, you can start now.

OOC: The loophole is, you said he had to participate on human terms, nothing about obsatcles other then a re-aranged maze.

"Actually, yes." Joshua said. He tapped the ground and Methua's feet sank into it. "I said you have to get to the center and find the real me. Zena, cue illusions." He vanished and a half dozen Joshuas appeared around the circle.

Methua considered the illusions for perhaps a dozen minutes, before nodding his head at the correct one. "That one."

The Joshua vanished. "Nope, guess again." Zena said, taking it's spot. "Sorry to disappoint you, but I've been improving." She and Kathy enjoyed a good laugh after that, especially with Methua's feet still slowly sinking into the ground.

Tal landed in the snow by the jet. He carried Rollins in, who had fallen asleep on the way. He set him down in the jet. Shoot... now how do I get back to the maze again? It seems like Methua still isn't done yet... heh, Zena must be giving him a hard time.

Methua, meanwhile, had been thinking hard while all this was going on. Suddenly, a thought came to him, and he grinned. He then used his power to sense Joshua's soul. He frowned as he searched for a minute, then looked rather indignant. He glared at Zena. "Whats with this? Hes in Vancouver!!"

Rollins grabbed his light machine gun. He had a feelign something was about to happen.

Alehkra raised his eyebrow at Rollins. "And whom may I ask is this?" He glanced at the machine gun and sighed. "Great, another trigger happy human."

Zena grinned even wider. "You're wrong and you cheated. You lose."

Methua smiled. "I did not cheat. Joshua said I have to get through the maze as a human. He said absolutely nothing about using my powers to find him."

Joshua sighed. "Don't be stupid patrick." he looked to Methua. "Bring us back to your original maze, without my alterations. Your job is to get through it like a normal human. No going through, over, or under walls. No altering the maze, and you have to follow the entire path to the center."

Zena shrugged. "Either way, you're still wrong about his location. And wait a minute, didn't Joshua come up with some clever little phrase, what was it. Oh yes, 'and you have to follow the entire path to the center.' Your trap door is a shortcut, and you went below the walls of the maze in using it."

Methua grinned. "Who said it goes under the walls? It is simply one of two ways to get into the circle. And he never specified which path, did he?"

"I'd be glad to." She dug through her seemingly ever present toolbox and found a good sized hammer. She pulled back and attacked the wall like someone playing croquet. "How's that?" She grinned.
"Perfect." Zena looked at the hole and sure enough, it ended at the ground, above Methua's pathway with the trapdoor. She sent that image to Methua. "See, you went below the walls of the maze."

Raphael had fallen asleep. He still forgot he was human from time to time, and neglected things like eating and sleeping every now and then. In his dream, there was a storm...he and Aya were trying to get out from it...she was telling him something, but he couldn't make it out over the roar of the wind.

Methua grinned even wider. Suddenly he wsa out of the ground and in front of where the hole was. "That wasn't a wall. Its a gate. It is the second way to get into the circle" Sure enough, he pressed a certain part of the 'wall', and it opened up.

IC: Zena's jaw dropped. "A gate. Go figure." She said as the ground beneath Methua began to pull him in again. "And yes, Joshua put a repeating spell on the ground just for you. Kathy, another part of the wall that isn't the gate please."
"Fine, but I'm using a wrench this time." She did indeed have a wrench large enough to have people wondering how she managed to fit it in the relatively tiny box. She held it like a baseball bat and swung hard at the lower part of the wall opposite the gate. This left surprisingly a larger hole than the hammer did, though unless every wall in the maze was movable, it too would prove that Joshua made the walls end at the ground. "Take a look now." Kathy almost ordered.

Methua raised an eyebrow. "And your point is? I fail to see how that changes anything."

Zena rolled her eyes. "My point is the you went below the walls of the maze, which Joshua strictly forbid. You taking your trapdoor lead you below the walls, which consequently lead to your cheating and that means you lose."

Methua suddenly laughed. "You seem to be under the impression that I made this maze specifically for this challenge. I have been working on this maze for thousands of years. There is not one thing you or Joshua could think about doing to this maze I have not already experimented with." He grinned at Zena, and motioned her towards himself. "Come here, let me show you something."

IC: Methua smiled, and suddenly he and Zena were outside of the gate. He led her about five feet outwards, and pointed at the ground. "This is where that particular tunnel begins. There are several others that would have gotten me there quickly, but those would have taken me under the walls, so I had to make my way towards this one."

Zena rolled her eyes. "You still went below every single wall Joshua's modified version of your maze. He changed it so that the walls would always end once they hit the ground. You were lower than the walls bottoms were, and that is under the walls."

Methua shook his head. "I was under the ground, but not the walls. This tunnel stays four feet away from the walls at all times. I may have been below the level of the walls, but I did not go underneath them. You see..." He trailed off as he suddenly thought of something. "This was not a viable challenge." He said.

Zena's grin reappeared. "You said we could have any challenge. You never once said it had to be one that could be completed. I don't remember him saying you couldn't ask for help from someone though. But the point is that you lost, you don't get a point, we may as well move on because this is getting nowhere."

Methua shook his head. "I said that you may choose absolutely anything as long as it is not impossible. Therefore, this was not a viable challenge."

"Alright, I'll give you that. But humans have machinery. Machinery that can bring down walls. Explosives work too. Humans also have others for help. And do you remember what you were supposed to complete this challenge as?" Zena hoped she was getting somewhere at least.

Methua raised an eyebrow. "How was I supposed to get said machinery? Last I checked, human's are not able to pull such things out of the air."

"Now that we left up to you. We gave you time to get ready before the challenge and you said you were ready. You were perfectly capable of using your powers until the challenge started."

Methua laughed. "Granted, but how about this: I am incapable of summoning fossil fuels such as oil or gasoline. I am really not quite sure why. I think it has something to do with it being the remains of plants, which I've always had a small amount of trouble with. But, regardless of the reason, whenever I summon machinery, I am required to use souls to make it run, which I am fairly certain human's are incapable of."

"That may be so, but you could always alter time and space, you seem good at that, to bring a diesel tanker here. That would work nicely. I've never had luck with plants either. I sense that they have their own being, their own life force, but I can't connect with it. Besides, plants die when I take care of them."

Methua shook his head. "You fail to understand. Should I try something like that, the oil would be left behind. It is not that I simply can't teleport it. For some reason, I am completely incapable of doing anything with fossil fuels." He thought for a second. "They wouldn't happen to have machinery that we are talking of that runs on water, do they? I don't pay much attention to technology these days."

"There is technology that runs on water. There's also electricity, hydrogen, and many other forms of power. Nuclear power is pretty effective too."

"Let's try this," Raphael interjected, plucking a feather. He whispered to it, "Teach me Father/ To do your will/ Show me Father/ How you feel/ Open my mind/ And let me see/ The way..."

The feather glowed slightly as it began to flutter on the air. It hung, suspended, waiting for them to follow.

Kathy looked at the feather. "What are you doing?" she asked of Raphael.

Methua thought about that for a second, then said, "In that case, I will concede that I lose this challenge."
