Aozora grinned slightly, and whispered back, "Of course. Regardless of how I may act, I like to think I'm at least rudimentally intelligent. However, you don't want me to give you away by suddenly halting my denounciations, do you?" Again he said something completely different aloud. "I thought better of you as well Umbra!! I thought you at least would let them believe as they chose!"

OOC: Uhm...have Zena try and help comfort Nala or something, and Josh yell at Tal. Your choice of course, just a suggestion. Hell, you could even have them believe Tal.

Medunia was surprised by the way she communicated, but she accepted it.
"Shall we go outside to greet her?" asked Medunia to Mecca.

Mecca shook his head. "She'll probably head straight for here. Avoid the sunlight you understand."

IC: Zena too went to Nala and wrapped her arms around her the way someone would to their little sister. "Hey, it'll be alright." She said, smoothing her hair. Joshua meanwhile just glared at Tal for doing this to Nala. He'd always preferred peace even though he knew when there was a time to fight.

"I'm sorry Aozora, what's done is done. Yes, let me say it to all of you. I'm completely behind Tal in this matter. To the end!" He looked at the group. "You should join us, rise above this nonsense!"

Edward held up his hand. "I think you've proven your point." He noded to Patrick then wandered over to Nala. "Hey, uh, just to tell you, we support you. Patrick and I, I mean."

Aozora scowled, and Alehkra gave a large growl. "This is nonsense Umbra, think of what you are doing. You will fall from the newly gained graces of your God!" Alehkra declared, though he gave a slight smile to let Umbra know he understood what was happening.

Edward smiled and wrapped Nala in a bear hug. "Y'know, in a way, you remind me of my daughter."

Zena squeezed Nala too and kissed her forehead while smiling at her. "Look, just make sure none of your followers go as nuts as Methua did and I think things will be alright." she was half joking as she conjured her wings and pulled Aozora and Edward toward Nala and herself with them, creating a shell of feathers.

He was smiling on the inside even though his outward appearance would not suggest it. We need to be cool... play this long enough but try to minimize casulaties...

Nala finally stopped crying, and choked out a laugh. "Thats what I aim for with this form." She told Edward, she looked up at Zena. "Don't worry Zena, only one other of my followers would be able to do anything should he go crazy, and I have even more faith in my Champion than I did in Methua before this started."

Alehkra gave a disgusted sound, and waved Umbra away. "Go, follow your perverse path then, but remember who gaurds the end of the path." He said, and walked behind Zena, wrapping her and as many of the others as he could in a hug.

Umbra released his full demon form and spread his wings, "To think, I thought you would trust me enough to see this my way. Fine then, I can see that my words, too, fall on deaf ears... there is no reason for me to stay here." He then gave a sorrowful glance, "If only... if only you could understand and see it my way." A small tear ran down his cheek as he spoke. He pulled himself higher into the air.

Patrick stayed towards the outer edges of the group. "Champion? A gaurdian, hm? As long as he doesn't go Methua... I'm okay." He took a step back. "Sorry if I don't join in, I have a bit of trouble, y'know, uh... expressing myself."

Aozora grinned at him. "Come on mate, join in the group hug. This is one of the few times in your life that you will be able to hug my wife without me getting angry with you."

Zena laughed. "Good to hear." her feathers were probably tickling Edward and Aozora, but she moved her wing and pulled Alehkra into the fold too.
"Damnit, now look what happened." Joshua said, vanishing. He warped to Umbra's level and kept blinking to keep up with him, something that drew a lot of strength. "Get back there. We're going to need you now just as much as with the Garden. I may not agree with you, but at least I'm willing to work with you. Zena too. Besides, I'd rather work with you than against you." he paused every few words to keep up with Umbra.

Aozora grinned at him. "Come on mate, join in the group hug. This is one of the few times in your life that you will be able to hug my wife without me getting angry with you."


Patrick shrugged. "If you insist." Then joined in the group. "Feathers are a bit ticklish..." He muttered.

Nala smiled happily. "Thank you, I feel much better." She looked nervously around a the people gathered 'round her. "So, you gtuys don't believe what Tal and Umbra are saying then?"

Zena laughed. "Of course they're tickly. What did you expect? Also, you're tickling me, could you move to the right a bit?" She looked to Nala. "And I don't know what to believe. What I do believe is that you mean no harm."

Umbra stopped and then grabbed Joshua, "I assume you still can't fly?" He lowered himself back to the ground and dropped him. "Why would I help you when our goals are different in their nature? That makes not sense."

Nala smiled happily. "Thank you, I feel much better." She looked nervously around a the people gathered 'round her. "So, you gtuys don't believe what Tal and Umbra are saying then?"

Patrick frowned. "I'm human. They've suddenly started annhilating humans who don't believe in god. I don't believe a single damn word, if I had the ability to, I'd storm the pearly gates."

Aozora got closer to Zena, and smiled down at Nala. "We should have a kid." He said suddenly.

"Essentially, we're doing the same damn thing you people did for years... I don't ssee the difference." Umbra said, leaning forward.

"Huamnity has changed, outgrown a god with the temprament of a spoiled two yeard old you could say." Patrick detached himself from the group hug. "That was one of the darkest chapters of human history. We've changed, you haven't." Patrick frowned. "And don't start the 'I'm and angel, you're a human, what do you know?' thing, I've seen enough to know my fair share."

"No..." Tal had fallen to his knees when the group had gathered together, against him. They won't even listen to Umbra. At least he is with me to the end. "All of you... Zena... can't you see? This is a war... people must be sacrificed to win... why can't you see it's a war like any other? Nala's deceiving you... why won't you listen to God instead of her? Zena, surely you of all people should understand?"

"Well for starters... I'm a fucking demon, thankyouverymuch, and you still ain't seen the same bullshit I have... You can talk all you want but its cheap one way or the other." Umbra intended to tear into Patrick, it would make the situation seem so much more real.

"Let us not forget that those slaughters done in the Medievel ages were in the name of your God." Alehkra jumped in. "And you can't simply say I don't know enough, I was there. And I didn't see the angels trying to stop them."

"No I can't fly." Joshua said, barely keeping his balance. "And because having people around is generally good for when you have friends that govern people."

"I am listening to God. But you need to see that our goal here is to stop the Angel of Death from killing us all. At the very least, we need to talk to him and see what's going on." Zena said to Tal.

"I don't imagine the angels would, I mean, you guys don't even believe in the Christian god do you? And I know you sure as jell don't care what he does. I mean, angels coming to werewolves aid, that would hurt your ego I'd imagine, that's actually been something I've wondered." Umbra trailed off before coming back to the subjet at hand, "Nevermind that. Tal, we may soon have to take our leave, these people are beyond our help."

"So I can. But as I was saying, we've outgrown a god that gets himself worked into a tizzy if people suddenly lose faith in him. His own fault, his own problem. The rectification for his problem, at least according to his logic, is to murder as many non-believers as possible to scare the rest into believeing. Let me tell you something, its not going to work. Humanity has had enough of having its fate chosen like some supernatural chess board. You want to decide our fate, you'll have to deal with all of us."

Alehkra smiled nastily. "A wise man once said that the rule that god put down that says Thou Shalt not Kill is negotiable, all depending on whether the person in question believes in a different invisible man."

Tal stood up. "No. That's not what we're doing. We're only targeting the people that this... woman... had damned to hell. This isn't about killing off humans, it's about saving them, even if a few must die on the way. That is war. How can you people not understand this, after all the war you have witnessed?" He was looking over at Pat.

"The only way to rid this woman of her power is to eliminate those who give it to her, her followers. If we don't do this, she will lead a rebellion against the Lord and attempt to overthrow him. I can't allow that to happen. The Angel of Death has told me it this is God's will that we do this, and I am not one to question it. That is the whole truth." Tal looked up at Zena, not sure what he was looking for.

And besides, it doesn't matter how strong you are in the human military, its how good you are with a rifle. Demons only won through numbers, angels are few and far between. Lets see how long they last."

You can't stop me with a rifle, mainly due to the fact you really can't hit me. Also there's my special abilities and other factors like banding together before you're all picked off. Patrick, you can actually be quiet, everyone knows that people like me, Tal, Zena and the bunch are all that's really keeping humanity from going over the edge. WIthout us, there is nothing."

Nala shook her head angrily. "Of course not!! If you really must know, your God is family of a sort to me. And to prove to you I mean it, I will permit you to search my mind, just this once."

Edward inserted himself between the both of them. "Enough. Both of you. Doesn't matter who is who, what does what, any of that. God is attempting to destory humanity in some fickle rage. That ends that." He grabbed Patrick by the arm and dragged him back towards the others. "And you, crispy, need to calm down."

Zena nodded. "I hate to do this, but it's better than a polygraph." She closed her eyes and entered Nala's mind. It was like nothing she'd ever seen before. Rather than a jumble of memories as was most minds, Nala's was a location where memories seemed to come when called. In the real world her mouth was open and her eyes were glowing bright as stars. Zena's mind meanwhile was calling for memories connected to her boss.
"Is she alright?" Joshua asked. "I've never seen this before. The eyes yes, but she looks like she's fully immersed in Nala's mind."

OOC: Mer, it should be noted that I need you to tell me what Zena sees. Probably in an IC post or something.

Blade also decided to step in, "Agreeing with Edward, shut up Patrick. You're talking to a demon that banished Mond, demon god of ice and helped kill Satan. You're an idiot if you think anything you have is effective against this piece of life-destroying machinery right here." Umbra nodded, "Plus, your counter measures are still pretty worthless if you happen to not be able to tell anyone to activate them in time and everyone meant to arm them is killed. Plus Pat, Pyro, Celestial, Gold, and myself are currently leading whole bands of humans, or did you forget that? SO yes, dumbass, we are keeping you from going over the edge."

Tal's fist tightened. "And what makes you so sure that Nala can't trick Zena, even in her mind? She is very powerful, after all." Tal had been facing Josh, but he wasn't really talking to anybody in particular. He had a bad feeling in his stomach that he knew how this would end.

"Zena is pure. We need to trust her. Besides, she's had enough experience. She can tell the difference between a created memory and a real one." Josh's speech sounded like random phrases, but he didn't feel like mincing words.

Tal glared at Josh. "Purer then God? More experienced than someone who has the plans to overthrow God, and even had the gall to offer to have Zena in her mind?" Tal didn't want to believe it, but he was sure that he was too late. Nala had already won over his friends, as she had almost won over him.

"I never said purer than God. But still, just because she has the ability to make plans doesn't mean that she has the ability to alter memories and modify them. We'll see what Zena comes up with, that's all we can do." Joshua replied. "Besides, do you have any other way of detecting if she's lying?"

"I don't have to. God says she is lying. That is all there is to it. I'm simply hoping that, on a slim chance, Zena will be able to find this out for herself. But if she can't..." Tal had been glaring at Josh, but he returned his gaze to Zena and Nala.

Umbra put his hand on Tal shoulder, "Be patient, even if Zena is corrupted, she still possesses skill. Who knows, maybe she'll find something that will turn her to our side."

Zena would then find herself immersed in countless years of memories, all coming at her one after another, never more than one at a time, but passing too quickly for her to catch more than a conversation, or a few images here and there.

She would see a form, of blue, distinctly femenine shaped, slowly solidifieng to form a clothless and beautiful young woman. And so a new divinity is born came a voice, And it is Nala

She would then see the same female figure, apparently arguing with a stern looking man who appeared to be in his forties. "You control them to much!" The woman was saying, to which the man answered, "Self-discipline and sacrifice is the best road to salvation." The man answered calmly. "If you think you can do so much better, cousin, than you may try to gain followers amongst my people, as you are as yet too young to create your own children"

Again the same pair speaking, the woman this time frustrated, but the man as calm as ever. "Its not really as easy it seems, is it?" She said, sighing. The man laughed. "Were it so, I'd have created the perfect followers long ago, child."

OOC: Best I could do on short notice.

Tal sighed. "You're right. I need to keep a cool head. Umbra, I really appreciate you sticking by me. At least with you we have a chance of convincing the others."

"Zena is just someone who likes to find things out first hand. Maybe if we had God talk to her himself she would change her mind. As for right now, this is her way of being neutral, what is preventing you from seeing that?" Joshua didn't like what he was hearing.
Zena snapped from her trance. "I saw nothing that told me one way or another. She was arguing with a man though, I don't know who. She's got one heck of a temper to boot."

OOC: Thanks, that's all I'd need.

"Uhh, didn't she say she has fond memories with god or something, what were they arguing about? And Josh, I don't know why but God spoke to me... or at least I think it was him. Ironic huh?"

Patrick sat on the ground, rocking back and forth on his heels, listening to the others discuss Nala. "And now..." he muttered. 'We wait..."

Nala shook herself. "Remind me to never let you do that again." She muttered. "Not very often a Goddess has someone in her head, and its disconcerting to say the least."

Tal sighed. "Listen, I'm not asking you to help me... I don't want you involved in this at all... I just want you to stay away from her!" He pointed at Nala. "I don't want any of you getting hurt by her! Just stay away and let me handle it." Tal lowered his hand, but he was still looking at Nala.

"She did. But I always thought God didn't have a body, just Jesus. I don't mean in any way that Jesus isn't God, but the first one refers to God the Father. Anyway, if she's got that much of a temper and that much of a problem with God, perhaps it's for the best if we follow through with What's his face's plan." Joshua said while Zena remained silent.

Nala sighed. "Divinities can have bodies if they wish Josh. We usually use bodies when talking to each other just for comfort. And as I mentioned earlier, Jesus isn't really a God."

Tal's eyes lit up slightly. Yes! Maybe Josh is finally starting understand! Tal remained motionless and silent. He wanted Zena to come to her own conclusion.

Patrick stood up. "To add my two cents, and I am not looking for an argument. I'm sticking by Nala." He sighed then sat down. "I'm set in my ways."

Hmm, someone looks to be ready to cross over...

Joshua rolled his eyes. "Well that does it. Where's your friend Tal? I want to help him. Besides, I'm sick of this blasphemy. Just because he took on a human form doesn't mean he's not God."
Zena nodded. "Josh's right. Jesus is god and saying otherwise is heresy. Sorry Nala, but you've just proven how untrustworthy you are by sticking with that mentality."
"I'm sticking with my boss. She does head the largest religion in the world after all, I think she knows what she's talking about." Kathy's two bits were in.

That was quick... too quick...

Tal sighed with relief. Finally they understand! "Thank you for staying with God, Zena. I'm not sure where the Angel of Death is, but I'll gladly take you to where I know he hangs around, at least where we saw him last." Tal stood straight. He knew that God's will would persevere in the end.

Zena rolled her eyes next. "I'll contact him myself then." How quick can you get here? she sent out to him, unsure if he would reply or pass out.

Nala sighed sadly, and hopped down from Zena's arms. There was true melonchaly as she looked up at Zena, and said, "I am very sorry that you could not be brought around. If you should manage to succeed in this, then my one wish before I die is that you are not crushed by the realization of what you have done at the end of all this." She looked at Aozora and ALehkra with little hope in her eyes. Aozora sighed, and patted her on the head. "Sorry Nala. Truth be told, I believe you in this, but I'm going to have to go with my wife." Alehkra chewed his bottom lip for a second, then said, "I think I'll just sit this one out. I believe you Nala, but I can't bring myself to hurt them."

Patrick grunted. Shifting loyalties, feh. He stopped his face from controting into a grimace. He walked over to Nala. "Well, guess I'm standing with you."

Nala walked over to Patrick, and dejectedly held her arms out for a hug. "Are you still with me? Or do you prefer to sit this out as well?"

Zena sighed. "Ok, let me put it this way. I'm willing to cut Nala a deal. If she will stay away from God's followers, avoid converting them, and do nothing to try to overthrow God, I'm willing to let her and her followers live in peace. If not, well, then we'll have problems. Can you agree to that Tal?"
"I say just end it now and end the misery." Joshua muttered.

Tal glared at Zena. "I don't trust Nala for a second. I will follow God's will to the letter, nothing more, nothing less. I have already said what must be done. That is all there is to it." Tal didn't want to discourage Zena, but he had to do what he had to do, and he was going to be straightforward about it.

Patrick picked up Nala in a hug. "I'm with you, I'm not sitting this one out."

Umbra held his hand to the sky and almost all light from the sun was gone as dark clouds began to block it out. It only took a few seconds before the landscape began to change as well, demonic spires jut from the ground and the landscape became semi-volcanic and barren. "Yours."

"I'm sorry to hear that. I'll put in a kind word at his funeral if you want." Zena said, knowing Umbra had signed his death sentence.

"Jehovah. You're thinking of Jehovah. And I'd love to hear your theories and stories, but I know the truth. He's incapable of lying and has always existed. I do not acknowledge you as a goddess, though I do acknowledge that you are some kind of omni-being."

Leon raised an eyebrow quizzicly, but shrugged, and moved to strike. He was going extremely fast, and with enough force behind the blow to fell an elaphant.

Leon smiled, and said, "You move, Demon."

Nala shook her head. "No Odin. Hes only just older than I am, barely considered in the generation above me."


Patrick frowned. "No odin... damn. If I hadn't met you, I would've devoted myself to the Norse religion." He shrugged. "Just appeals to me. And you've been avoiding the question.. how will you become mortal?"

"The Angel of Death has betrayed you all. Umbra tried to create a double agent situation but failed. And the good part is still to come..."

Joshua meanwhile was shrugging off Nala's comments. "If I were to dwell in lies my life would be very miserable. Right now I'm not the happiest, but in general life's not bad. Alehkra's a great teacher and a kind person and he allowed me to live with him. Zena's my best friend, always has been. I've had some rough times, sure, but who hasn't?"

Umbra ducked and spun bringing the scythe at his foe's knees.

"All right then, lets talk about Alehkra then, shall we? He too, believes very differently from you, and worships a strange god whom even I don't claim to understand. Are you saying he is wrong?"

Slater laughed,"The Moon God? That is ridiculous." Four of Slater's "soldiers" came with their hands on their sword hilts.

The young wolf scowled, and drew his sword. "Noone talks of our Lord like that. Take it back, unless you want to return to the Moon before your time."

Nala smiled faintly, and patted him on the cheek with her little hand. "Keep that attitude, the hope will see you through the dark years to come."


Patrick noded. "If I keep fighting, I may prevent those dark years. Huamnity did it once, it can do it again. And one angel of death won't be able to match him." He smiled. "Ares." He said.

Deserae looked her over. "Hmm...alright, tell me about yourself then. Whats your story?"

Medunia repeated the story that she told Deserae's daughter slowly.

"None as of yet. We killed Satan, I assumed you'd be up to this task, apparently I was wrong."

IC: Leon seemd about to strike, when he noticed Tal. "Brother!" He called out. "This demon has proved that his kind may not be trusted. He spouts lies, and wishes to strike me down!!"

IC: Tal stopped on a dime, his sword drawn about 50 feet from the two. He was still glowing with radiance from using his full power to get there. He looked every bit the angelic warrior he was. "Leon! Umbra! What is the meaning of this! Why are you fighting?!?" Tal's voice boomed through the wasteland. He wasn't holding anything back at the moment. He still couldn't be sure of what was going on.

Patrick sighed to. "If anything... it'll slow them down. We've got our own countermeasures besides one man. Have you heard of the "Broken"? Humans captured by demons? We managed to free about a dozen of them, and they literaly are broken, both mind and soul." He frowned. "Poor men, they are in eternal pain... but its that pain that gives them the edge."

Deserae grinned. "When, not where, but I was going to ask that next."

"Later 1100s or early 1200s I think." said Medunia, slightly annoyed that she heard the question wrong.

The wolf pulled away, and delivered a rather clumsy overhand, while his companian struck at Slater's second in command.

Nala shrugged. "If it means that he is only allowed to run rampant for fifteen years, rather than twenty, than I applaud you."

Deserae thought on that for a second, and nodded. "You are old enough, though just barely I might add. Now, would you rather live with the wolves or vampires? I will arrange quarters to be made for you in whichever you choose."

Patrick noded. "I intend to not let him run rampant at all. If I can stop him, I will, even if I have to sacrifice myself." He shrugged. "If it only was that simple."

Struck by a sudden idea, Leon put a hand on Tal's shoulder. "Hold, brother. Let him explain himself. It is possible he has been misled."

Tal's grip loosened. "Yes, you are right as usual. I suppose I must listen to reason." Tal shifted his gaze to Umbra. "So, Umbra, why have you done this? Why would you attack Leon? I thought you were on my side?"

Unbeknownst to Tal, he smiled behind him. This is going nicely, 'Brother'. I thought I was in trouble, when that demon appeared. But, here we are, you helping me accomplish what you should undoubtedly be against.

The wolf shook his head. "You been hiding under a rock for the past seven years? This ain't the Moon Clan, that is led by that old fool Alehkra, who would think to tell us our Lord is decieving us. We are the Clan of Change, as we shall bring change to the wolves like fire through a meadow."

Patrick went mute for a second. "Me." He whispered. "Haven't officialy announced our relationship.. people might cry foul."

Nala grinned. "No wonder you didn't seem very enthusiastic about Alehkra finding you a mate. Well then, General Kathy it is then, daddy."

He gave a level look to Patrick. "I know I said I'd stay out of this, but should you and that little girl ever need sanctuary, come to me."

The world isn't as safe as it was a year ago, and I'm getting to damn old to do anything. From what other telepaths have told me, i'm aged beyond my actual years."

Alehkra laughed. "Once you hit ten-thousand, then maybe you can complain to me about age. Till then, remember who you are talking to."

Patrick noded. "I should've died at any time during these past seven years. To think, eight years ago my worst enemy was a religious extremist...now its the forces of heaven." He scratched at his growing side burns. "As with everything we face, there is always a good side and a bad side."

Alehkra shrugged. "Noone is born evil. Maybe thats why I like children. Theres an innocence about them that can't be matched by the fairest of virgins."

Patrick smiled. "Yeah... its the actions that make the person. I've known people who've come from the darkest of places yet retain an almost child-like innocence, and people from the brightest areas decending into the dark. Usually its the lure of power, it doesn't matter who they are, all human crave power, whether they use it for good or ill defines them."
