Threats such as this will be disregarded. Unless Cali wants a huge war on his hands I would suggest you don't do anything. And that is not a threat, it is a promise.

But someone like Granate who is very specific about moves and such can easily outmaneuver a vague Rper in a battle, leading to a win. RPing does matter.

Ja, I've seen nations almost twice the size of other nations beat them by using smarter tactics and guerilla warfare effectively. Also, not exactly the same but in the same light, I've seen countries using only modern equipment, like Merkava Tanks and Humvees, and beat nations using the NS Tanks and the lot. Mind you, it takes alot more then RPing ability, but hey if you outclass your opponent in that category and are on equal terms in manpower and tech, heh, you've got a good chance.

We're taking the same aproach; my NS government is a heck of a lot more cautious about alliances; its nothing personal its just how we are. and Futaris - History posted.

But to give you an idea of how cautious we are about alliances; in 4 years of NS I have 2 people I call serious allies; and we consider them like brothers and sisters; we fight and indeed die for them as our Marines are doing at the moment...but thats pretty irelivent to this but gives you an idea of our loyalty if you make it that far.

Marx, although I try and make my allies close and more nations I trust, and don't sign NAP randomly with no background (I think RPing it is far more realistic and proper) my nation did agree to sign a conditional NAP with you, which, according to your late post which means you have left my government hanging for probably a month NS time, so they went on to find "friends" in the 'Meeting of Leaders'. I'm not sure whether your very good at diplomacy. :p

Sorry; british slang for signiture just to confirm you. as for Budgets we use the RL GDP and Pop (PPP not Nominal) of our nations but you can use any RL or reasonable MT/Low PMT NS Tech.

Babel....was weird. I don't fully understand it - there were like 3 different plots with almost no connection to each other, random scenes with that crazy Japanese girl, the mexican crisis, the Moroccan thing...I don't get it.

Could I recomend 1RL Day = 1EFJ Week.

I know that seems a little drastic but I've seen it in use on other offsites and it's really good cos it allows for plenty of action to be taken more realistically than 1 week = 1 year it also means that you don't end up at 2059 by the end of one RL year.

I think about roughly 2 weeks for one year :p but that is only because I have little patience.

I think the best timeframe would be one RL day = one EFJ month. The longest Earth that I have been in lasted 2-3 months, so we should use up the time that we have. Plus, it would allow for quick research and design, instead of bored waiting for new projects to come out. But it's up to AB to decide.

Marx, although I try and make my allies close and more nations I trust, and don't sign NAP randomly with no background (I think RPing it is far more realistic and proper) my nation did agree to sign a conditional NAP with you, which, according to your late post which means you have left my government hanging for probably a month NS time, so they went on to find "friends" in the 'Meeting of Leaders'. I'm not sure whether your very good at diplomacy. :p

OOCly I'd be fine with that, but ICly my leader would get annoyed if some Corporation came in just trying to get investments for his country and sell stuff - so it's unlikely you'll get an invite just for that really. It's not personal, just wouldn't really make sense. One reason I can think of for an excuse why your people do not want to be friends with my is because the Europeans (who are my ethnic majority) wiped out nearly all Asians in the 17th and 18th century in the Honakon Empire, and now only about 0.1% of my country are Asians (as in Chinese Asians - Arabs and Muslims make up about 1%.) Though I only thought you were RPing as Asian from your name.

Anyway, my country wants relations with yours, though we view an NAP as something that is signed after relations have been good for a while. :)

You haven't been around a while, so here's a brief: Granate's been a good RPer since the ESS days and through CW. Sure, he may not be the most enthusiastic, but nobody's got everything. Trust me, if you'd been with Eralineta, you'd be talking way different. He's another RPer here who actually is committed to playing with everyone else and going with the flow (unlike Era...who wanted to go into perverse other-world).

Lay off of Granate, everybody. People are different-you'll find that out by expanding in life, as well-simply adapt and find your own medium. Let's try to keep this a flame-free Earth, please-the business with Era on ESS is not something I'd like to repeat, especially over an RPer here who actually has a positive proven track record.

I don't know really how to answer this without hurting somene's feelings, so here goes.

First off, let's stop the name-calling, flaming, and whatever else. This is an Earth-it's supposed to be tighter-knit. If we want this Earth to survive, we need to work together here.

Secondly: Don't take things personal. If this were on the street and somebody told me something like that, I'd probaly say the same thing (or in slang)-I just try to be a bit more sophisticated here. If Granate wants to use his own personality on these boards, that's his choice. Don't take it personally, just go around it and work with it. I've not taken comments here on NS period, and I've been able to work with RPers that many have considered near untouchable (not gonna mention names). That's a key.

Concluding: Much of Granate's criticisms come with the younger guys, the less experienced RPers-go back a few pages, he complimented Kamp that he doesn't have as much a problem with Kamp since he's gotten a better RPer. Simply try to co-exist, people-the last thing this Earth needs is fracturing. We're on the verge of cracking this Earth open big-time-hell, it's practically the only Earth on these boards, since EII, EV, and AMW are less and less frequent here. We even have a backlog in people wanting in-Carloginias is here, who I promised Tymh's territory if Tymh doesn't show up by the 15th. We can really make this one to remember-let's not OOCly spoil it.

Pretty much. I just hit on the people whose RP skills aren't average. Look at Kamp, although he probably doesn't like me, much of his improved skills can be linked to my rants at him. So if you see, if look through most of my bullshit you'll find some valuable information.
