Okay i was going to try this thread out here. I've done this before in an old forum way back....
Let's try to prove that NS isn't just a waste of time (not that is, but anyway)
why doesnt every poster put on here something they learned today. Whether it be something thought provoking and insightful, or just something downright ridiculous.....whatever the hell it is that you learned put it here!
*EDIT* and if this thread goes into the next day, then say what you learned then. make this EPIC!

I was going to toss this into the "Evidence of God's Existence" thread but decided no one would get it. It hasn't been that big a topic since the 4th century. Consider the company you're in with OCD, though (this is from Wikipedia's article):
David Beckham, an English footballer who plays for Real Madrid and is captain of the English national team.
Harrison Ford, an Academy Award-nominated American actor.
Paul Gascoigne, aka Gazza, a former English football player, notorious for his colourful character in the game.
Howard Hughes, an aviator, an engineer, an industrialist, a movie producer, a playboy, an eccentric and one of the wealthiest people in the world.
Marc Summers, an American television personality, best known for hosting the children's game show Double Dare on Nickelodeon.
A large proportion of the great philosophers seem to have also suffered from some of the symptoms. The most extreme case was Immanuel Kant.

Because, milady, you are brilliant. And with brilliance comes absentmindedness for things that most would consider fiarly important. Example: I know it's going to be a good raod trip if I forget something I really needed. I came home to Everett from Bismarck and was planning on doing a lot of composing and arranging over the summer. I forgot my keyboard.
That's why I like to say I'm not smart, I'm quick -- and sometimes being quick means you forget things.

I learned (not on NS) that it pays to bother the person behind you at the supermarket in the checkout line, apparently I am hilarious, and I have a gig next wednesday night at the local comedy club (okay it's open mic night so anyone could get in, but the owner is reserving me a spot, so I don't have to wait in line and sign up then hope that he draws my name)

Best of luck! Stand-up is so much more difficult than it looks. I have lots of people telling me I should try it. I never do because I know that most of my retorts depend upon the first person's input. If I had nobody to bounce off, I'd die on stage within three minutes.

In my English Setter's obedience class this morning, I learned that if a dog gets another dog's head in its mouth, it's the highest form of canine affection. Realising this, I now do not rip the Setter and our older Golden Retriever apart when Bellamy (Golden) has Zoe's (Setter) head in his mouth.

When the train stopped at the next station I refused to open the doors till they said sorry. the great thing about standup is that you can do it at the same time you can do most "real jobs" it's a night and weekends gig, you don't have to abandon all money making opportunities to be a comedian, you just have to show up when you are scheduled and hopefully make people laugh.

I learned that I may have mistaken what they meant by one of the issues and that now it seems my country goes decades without an election. In one fell blow my political freedoms went from Good to Below Average - doh!

I have an auto immune disorder where bread actually is toxic to me, there is enough gluten in 1/48th of a slice of bread to do serious damage to my body. So, anyway the thought of sandwiches makes me sick.........

My brother has the same disorder. Now he eats only rice and is quite fond of eating sushi daily...I wonder what is your diet like...

I learned that I'd get along very well with Aelosia's brother -- not because I share the disorder, but because I just love sushi. :D

You will get along fine with me, then. Try to guess who prepares sushi at home. I made a course some time ago after he insisted too much.
However, forget the classics. Have you ever tried baked plátano sushi?

this morning I had gluten free cereal for breakfast, for lunch I am having bean burritos (corn tortillas, beans, cheese and sour cream, with pico de gallo) and for dinner I am going to eat a baked potato with butter, sour cream, chives, and gluten free bacon bits. ;)
after you heal you can eat a lot more stuff, just no wheat, rye, barley and oats. (provided you don't have any intolerances, my friend can't have soy or corn either :()
