yeah i understand that. i think it boils down to feeling unlovable and unromantic - i have never experienced any form of romance in my life (well except e-marrage of course;)). when you don't feel that other people will possibly love you or find you attractive, sexy or "romantic", it kinda negates the whole issue, from a logical point of view

Being rather nerdy myself, here's my advice: Be a very patient alpha. My first girlfriend (and only, sigh) was quite good at reeling in a guy slowly. You should want to be the friend of your girlfriend/boyfriend, so you shouldn't have that much trouble finding stuff to do together. Human pillows is an excellent idea. I wouldn't advise being physical right off the bat, at the very begining, it made me really nervous. Combining early relationship jitters with nerd low-self esteem, I wouldn't say you should do something crazy. Spend time with him/her, and then slowly make it more and more obvious you like them. When everyone's talking (or its obvious he/she knows) then you can spring it on him/her.

Life isn't all about talk and sex and practicalities. Girls like to be romanced a lot. It's particularly true in my case as where I'm from has a strong Latin (Spanish) heritage. My girlfriend is being all grumpy and practical then I say something like, "I miss your smile like the first light of the morning... your eyes like the soft wings of butterflies in the morning breeze... your cheek like the soft kiss of the wind, caught up by the wings of the dawn..." and she'll just melt. Of course the fact that she's on another island and we're communicating by mobile phone means nothing happens after (but even if she were with me nothing would happen... she's very conservative) it still is the most wonderful thing to bring a smile to the lips of the woman you love.
