Unum Veritas Shop Thread

1) Hover Carrier:
The Armed Republic of Unum Veritas has recently developed a new design for the venerable aircraft carrier. Of old, the only drawback to an aircraft carrier, was its limited attack radius. Without tanker support, an aircraft carrier could not threaten a landlocked country or even the center of a large country with a coastline. But that has all changed with the invention of the new HVC carrier class. Instead of a conventional, water-based aircraft carrier, this new class is a hovercraft. The hovering ability allows it to cross any terrain, be it land, or sea. This gives the carrier an unlimited attack radius, and the ability to hit any target necessary. Due to the fact that this vessel does not sit in the water, it is practically invisible on sonar. It is also immune to any torpedoes because the torps can't acquire it without active sonar pinging.

(8.) Fast Attack Hover Patrol Boat
As many know, one of the oldest strategic moves in a war was for one country to place a blockade on another's ports. During blockades, smugglers (known as blockade runners) would attempt to race through the blockade to deliver goods, and recieve a handsome reward for their bravado. In the new age, due to aerial transportation, the art of blockading ports is now a moot point, correct? Wrong! The days of the naval blockade are back. The latest vessel to be designed by the Unum Veritas engineers has been specifically designed to seal off countries by dealing with aerial, submerged, and floating targets. Although more or less useless in small numbers, this vessel can be one of the most deadly naval weapons available when deployed in vast quantities. A full sized unit of these HAB's (hover attack boat) can rain down devastating missile volleys upon land, sea, or air targets, while still agile enough to evade most counter measures. These ships are perfect for blockading ports, protecting ports, or just overall battle group security.

9) Hovercraft Deep Sea Transport
Although we are very proud of our hovercrafts, we must acknowledge that it cannot handle extremely rough waters. Therefore it is only effective within a 50 mile radius from a shoreline. Well, how is one to place a blockade on a foreign country if these blockade ships can't reach that country? Well, once again the Unum Veritas engineers have come through with the development of a ship specifically designed to transport our hovercrafts.

13) Tall Ship Frigate
In honor of the esteemed past, and to help young ones appreciate new technology, Unum Veritas is now offering a ship directly out of the 1800's. These "tall ships" are perfect for living museums, display, themed races, or NS countries set in that time period. These ships are fully operational recreations of their old counterparts. Each ship comes with a full set of sails, extra ropes, cannons, cannon balls, instructions on how to produce more cannonballs, and customizeable features. We wish for these vessels to not be mere glimpses into the past, but fully hands-on works of art, therefore no two vessels are alike. Each ship will be painted in the national colors of its purchaser, as well as sculptures all along the bow and stern of the country's national animal (or a different animal that is specified by the buyer). So, when making a purchase for one of these magnificent works of art, please specify what you wish to be the ship's primary colors, and what animal(s) you wish to have carved. Due to the skill demanded to build one of these vessels, please allow one full NS year for delivery (1 week RL). The picture below is just one of these vessels and is meant to give a prospective buyer an idea of what these ships are like. Ordnance
Unum Veritas is very pleased to offer these fine munitions, all of which are compatible with our ships. The price for each missile/torpedo is a flat $500,000.

1)The Mark-48 is designed to combat fast, deep-diving nuclear submarines and high performance surface ships.
2)The Mark-46 torpedo is designed to attack high performance submarines, and is presently identified as the NATO standard.
3)The Mark-50 is an advanced lightweight torpedo for use against the faster, deeper-diving and more sophisticated submarines. The Mark-50 can be launched from all ASW aircraft, and from torpedo tubes aboard surface combatant ships.
4)Harpoon anti-ship missile can be launched from the air, from ships, or from submarines.
5)Exocet anti-ship missile with fire and forget capability.
6)The Brahmos is a supersonic anti-ship missile developed jointly by India and Russia. This joint effort has produced what is touted to be the world's best anti-ship missile. ``The combination of a long-range of fire, high-speed, low radar detection, advanced jamming protection and a high-explosive warhead makes BrahMos by far the deadliest anti-ship missile in the world."
7)Sea Sparrow, surface-to-air missile, has all-weather, all-altitude operational capability and can attack high-performance aircraft and missiles from any direction.

8) Double 0 Cars
After the recent development of our special operations submarine, our engineers have become enamoured with the special operations and entire clandestine community. Because of this new-found obsession, they began acting of their own accord, and started renovating cars. Evidently our chief engineer has watched one to many James Bond films, and has decided to begin building completely operational replicas of his cars. Although our government viewed these creations as a waste of time and resources and did not believe them to have any utility, we have been proven wrong. Our engineer has asked permission to sell these vehicles, and while we remain somewhat skeptical, we gave him permission, despite our misgivings. The government of Unum Veritas realizes that some nations will not believe these vehicles to be possible (OOC- and to accuse us of god moding), but we assure you, they are possible (in RL theoretically possible). They are not complete replicas. Because of the extra weight, they cannot go as fast, and they have been made of far sturdier materials than an average vehicle (thus the much higher price), but they are ideal for covertly placed agents who might have a need for some "special" toys.

How does this statement work with the carrier? "Although we are very proud of our hovercrafts, we must acknowledge that it cannot handle extremely rough waters. "

An aircraft carrier that can't go more than 50 miles out to sea isn't something I want to purchase..

Kormanthor, your order is confirmed. Construction will begin immediately. (and next time could you please not quote my entire product list? thanks.)

Hontah, your order is confirmed also. Expect delivery in about 8 months.

Freedom Country consider this confirmation. The planes will begin construction at our new facilities ASAP and should be ready in 5-6 months.

Formicia, your order is confirmed as well. The products should be ready in about 8 months. Also, I'm surprised you are the first to mention this about the hovercrafts. That comment was meant to apply to our transports and our hover-patrol craft. Obviously the hover engines on an aircraft carrier are much, much bigger than on a small patrol boat or troop transport. Plus the added weight would help it to deal with large seas. Even normal patrol boats or troop transports couldn't make cross-Atlantic voyages by themselves. I'm sorry for the mix up, I should have specified in that comment.

Thank you all for your business. We look forward to working with you all again soon.

That comes to $31,421,000,000. Given that your military budget (http://www.pipian.com/stuffforchat/gdpcalc.php?nation=Daharaja&defenseprovided=1&defense=20&militarybudget=1) is about a tenth of that, you might want to trim your order down a bit. ID, yeah, I hope it doesn't happen again.

Formicia, I think it depends on personal style, but I tend to be heavy on AEGIS destroyers and attack submarines. I like to rely on a large attack sub screen, rather than ASW frigates (although i have some in each battle group). I use dual carrier battle groups, so my groups tend to be quite large. However, it is largely up to you.

To the esteemed leader of Unum Veritas:

The Principality of Divilosa requests 10 Tall Ship Frigate, painted aquamarine blue, with a dolphin figurehead.

Please paint, in white, on the side, in calligraphy, the following names, one for each ship:

Ship 5: Noble
Ship 5: Cavalier
Ship 6: Valorous

Also, could you give me exact specs (number of cannons, crew, length, etc.)

Also, could you build a ship larger than a frigate to serve as a flagship of a country whose time period is the late 1700s to mid 1800s?

17-09-2003, 01:15
To the esteemed leader of Unum Veritas:

The Principality of Divilosa will expend only $50,000,000 on the frigates, plus the price of the flagship if you construct it. This is well within our means, as we are purchasing nothing else, due to the lack of things being sold within our technology level.

Well, Emperor Daz's is the only order I can confirm, because that is the only country which specified which ship they'd like. In case none of you others noticed I sell quite a few naval armaments, and I cannot distinguish between them when all I am told is "I'll take 100". 100 what? Please specify what ship/plane/car/missile/torpedo/sub, that you'd like so that I can actually construct them. Other than that, Daz, your order is confirmed. Well Ruhr, I really want to say that you've been "on my case" since I first opened this thread and while I probably did start a bit soon, I feel the need to inform you that almost all of my specs come straight from globalsecurity.org, so go complain to them rather than wasting time in my thread...

Everyone else, your orders are confirmed. Half our factories are still working on another project, so please allow 1-2 NS years for delivery. Thank-you.

Just to make a case study out of the LA Class:

It is actuall 360 feet long with only 4 torpedo tubes. It's top speed is only around 30-32 knots (unofficially, the official US government says 23+ knots).
Unum Veritas
19-10-2003, 03:53
The reason that might be different is that orginally it wasn't an LA Class, but then I changed the name back to get the recognition that the LA Class has. The specs were based on the LA, however, but changed to make it original *makes note to self to change the specs back to original*... But frankly I really don't see where its any of your business. You're obviously bored, so why don't you go find something more constructive to do than to hijack my thread by complaining about my ships in my ships' store thread...

Lima Beens, that's it....you are officially ignored. Do not post in my thread again. The trillion you've been given was to rebuild your nation, I do believe, not to spend on military equipment. Besides, you don't have the population to man all the machinery you are buying, much less maintain and care for it all. You are one of the poorest RPers I've seen on NS, so please do not waste any more of my time or thread space unless you make a 100% improvement.

I agree with you on two fronts.
1.) Ive seen lima beens god modding alot before now, its amazing, some one should take him under thier wing like i was. Im not going to tho, he annoys me so.

2.) "We sleep safely in our beds because rough men

What about us obtaining production rights for the Sea Shadow, Arsenal Ship, and E2-C Hawkeye? We would be willing to pay well for these plans.

As far as our purchase, we are wiring the money now.

21-10-2003, 02:02
The following are what the Republic of CoreWorlds wish to purchase, please.
1 Iowa Class battleship at $950 million
1 Arsenal ship for $500 million
5 Tomcats for $100 million
5 hovercraft transports for $60 million
and if applicable, building rights to all ordinance for $35 million. Arms manufacturing is our second largest industry, after all.
That would be a grand total of:
Option A)$1.610 billion without ordinance rights
Option B)$1.645 billion with ordinance rights
We can afford it, with a $2.83 billion military budget:
http://www.pipian.com/stuffforchat/gdpcalc.php?nation=coreworlds&defenseprovided=1&defense=20&militarybudget=1
We'd still have $1.185 Billion left to spend (with ord. rights), and no, we didn't spend it yet today. How long to get them?

Money wired upon confirmation of one order option (A or B) stated above.

CoreWorlds, I think we'll go with Option A, because currently I am not selling production rights to any ordinance. Expect delivery of the ships/planes in about 6 months.

Gun Brothers, we can sell the production rights for the E2-C Hawkeye, but not for the other two ships, because they are such recent additions to our inventory. The rights for the plane would cost $200 million (how's that sound? I don't normally sell rights... ).

Liberty Fighters, its good to see that not all new nations are as bad as Lima Beens. That nation is just a hopeless case. About the quote, I'm not sure which version is correct, I just saw it somewhere this way and decided I really liked it. Please stay in touch as your nation grows and prospers, and perhaps in the future we can form a lasting friendship.

Independent Hitmen, now that all of our facilities have reopened, we can have your twelve ships constructed in 7 months. How does that sound?

Alfeite, your order is confirmed as well, and the subs will begin construction immediately. Please allow 6 months for delivery.

We feel that the price offered for the production plans of the E2-C Hawkeye are reasonable, so we accept that proposal (a wire transfer is on its way to you as we speak). As to the other vessels, is there any way we can convince you to change your mind? We would be willing to construct a quantity of the vessels in question for you (for a set period of time), in exchange for the plans. If this proposal isn't acceptable, we understand (although we had to try).
