If the person likes you a lot, it's impossible to turn them down without hurting his/her feelings.

I think the bigger question is: "How do you turn someone down for a date without feeling guilty?" But there isn't much of a solution to that, either, now is there? I mean, in order to not feel guilty, you would need to not have a conscience...which, you poor, unfortunate soul, DO seem to have (or else the topic of this thread would cease to exist, non?).

Therefore, just tell the person that you don't like them (try to be nice, though...unless you want to be pegged as a bitch/asshole). The quicker the better: they'll get over it, eventually. If they don't get over it and kill themselves because you turned them down...then, I suppose, it's all your fault, but it's pretty obvious that they had emotional problems to begin with.
