"I'm Ravnos, which is sort of inbetween," Rube explained.

"What clan is the leader of the city from?" Victor asked "The same one as you?"

Rube shook his head. "Zanaar is Ventrue," he replied. "They prefer to lead, by force if they deem it necesary."

"Ah." Victor replied

They soon left the tunnel and appeared in a large cavern. The walls of a building had been fused into the cavern walls.

"We're here kid," Rube said.

"Ah, so what differentiates the inner section and outer section of the lab?" Victor asked

Well the outer section is outside and the inner section is inside," Rube told him. "As you can see, this is outside."

"So how do you get to the inside?" Victor asked

"The same way you go into any building," Rubed told him, pointing towards a door.

"I wouldn't have expected a door to still be around." Victor replied as he headed toward the door.

"They won't be back for a while. It's not like them. But that might come in handy for whatever was living in that dry area a while back."

After finding a ladder, he said “Drusilia, I ran into a human maybe 49,000 years ago that everybody said he had the power of a vampire. So, I found out where is was and did some research on him. He was a 10,000 year old vampire and little old me was a 1,000 year old vampire.” He took a small pause then continues.

“He was more powerful then me but was not a smart vampire. I outsmarted him in a battle and that was the turning point I need. After my hands killed him, I took everything he had. His clan, his buildings, and everything that he had. So, Marius will not be a problem.” As he started climbing down, he added “Now, if that bitch of a bride get in our battle, I will have to retreat. No vampire can take on two ancients at one time.”

"Well it's all down to how the FTL engine exploded and fused the building into the bedrock," Rube explained as the found themselves in an unlit corridor that had evidence of being ransacked.

Rube nodded and headed down the corridor. "I suspect most of the easily accessable parts will be just the same," he warned.

"And since I'm guessing that most of those who come here are vampires, hard to get to will be very hard to reach." Victor replied

"Exactly kid," Rube nodded. "Most humans who come down into Caer Chan Caddug come as food."

"I'm partially surprised none of the vampires that reside down here have tried to take a bite out of me. Of course it would turn out worse for them if they did, but still. It'll still be interesting to see if there is anything to find." Victor replied

"That's because you are with me," Rube told him, kicking open a rusty metal door. "They know better then to fuck with me."

"Ah, so you have a reputation then?" Victor asked as he continued searching.

"Mainly through working for Zanaar," Rube replied, looking around an empty room.

"Nope, I was born with my powers." said the Count "What I call them are mutant powers then I became powerful through the years. Learning to use them right. It took over 5,000 years to master them."

Then he kicked off the ladder and landed on the next ledge. “My dark side powers came later but I have mastered them, too.” Then he continues down to the next ledge and to the next one after that. It looked like he was going faster and faster as he went down. In few minutes, he was on the ground and way ahead of Drusilia.

"Ah, so what do you do for him?" Victor asked



"The odd job, whatever needs doing," Rube replied.

"Ah." Victor replied as he continued searching the rubble.

Rube took out a cigarette and lit it as he went from empty room to empty room. So far there was nothing of interest, but the lab itself was huge and was bound to hold secret.

"Shit, nothing," he muttered to himself.

Victor continued searching through the devestated lab.

Aeschia woke up and it was still afternoon, so she decided to check on JWolf and Drusilia's progress. She marked it on the map, and went back to sleep.

OOC: How can you know where they are, if you not following them. Don't say it is because of Druailia's blood. Because that BS, it is hard to track them being underground.

Victor continued searching through the devestated lab.

Rube flicked the stub onto the floor and stepped on it. "Seems we need to go deeper," he said.

"Then I guess we shall." Victor replied as he ceased searching the area he was in and headed deeper into the lab.

After a while walking through the ransacked corridors, the trio came across the door to a lift that had seemingly melded shut. There had been obvious attempts to open it from the scratched and dents all over it, but all attempts had obviously failed.

"What do you think kid?" Rube asked.

"It looks like this needs to be opened, I'm pretty sure I have something that can open it but it may be dangerous for you and Jonas to be around it while it is working." Victor commented

"I have something less dangerous," Rube told him, taking a lightsaber out from under his coat.

"Ah, my method tends to be harmful to vampires as it produces radiation in similar ranges as solar raditation." Victor replied as he stepped back so that Rube could do his stuff.

In a series of swift moves, Rube attacked the list doors. Once he had broken through there was a long drop down. There was nothing down there save for darkness and who knew what, that however didn't stop the scruffy vampire from taking a leap into the darkness below. There was a thud as he landed on the lift.

Victor followed Rube, landing slightly heavier, and as he landed his lowlight/dark vision kicked in, enabling him to see the elevator shaft.

Jonas leapt down behind them, while Rube used his strength to pry open the lift doors and headed out into a floor that had not seen the light of day since the accident.

"Looks like we're in luck," he commented.

"Hopefully we shall find something interesting." Victor replied as he set to work searching.

Rube looked around, he decided against lighting up another cigarette for the moment. For the moment he couldn't tell if it was safe to as he walked to the nearest door and kicked it open. It was obviously a computer research rook as there where computers lined up all against one room. In each chair was a skeleton, the scientists here had seemingly died while working on something.

"At least no one else has been here," he said.

"That's always a plus when searching for things lost in rubble." Victor replied

"Definitely," Rube agreed as he looked across the room.

The computers were old and probably no longer worked. Other then the computers and the skeletons, there wasn't much of interest in the room.

Then a phone on the wall rang.

Victor, being the nearest to the phone at the time picked it up and said "Hello, this is Victor."

There was nothing but static, no voice or anything.

"Thats creepy," Jonas remarked.

"Hello, anyone there?" Victor asked into the phone.

Still nothing.

"Put it down kid," Rube told him.

Victor hung the phone up and began to continue searching the area.

Finding nothing in the room, Rube left and kicked in another door. There he found cage upon cage stacked everywhere. In most of the cages were the skeletons of animals, in some cages there were several.

"Good if you are into skeletons," he remarked.

"I wonder what kind of experiments were done here. A necro would have a field day down here anyways." Victor commented

"I am not telling them about this," Rube said with a stern look on his face. He looked towards the cages. "I'd guess something towards cosmetics back before the late King Kurt I banned it."

"Banned because of 'cruelty of animals'?" Victor asked

Rube nodded. "That and the fact tasting on animals held things back rather then move it forward," he replied.

"So what kind of things have been found down here?" Victor asked as he brushed some dust off an area.

"In the upper levels just the usual shit you find in a lab," Rube said. "equipment but no bodies."

"I wonder why there are bodies down here then?" Victor commented

"Nothings been down here since the accident," Rube said. "Maybe it had been seeled off so these souls couldn't escape."

"Perhaps but it sort of looks like they died between one moment and the next." Victor replied as he gestured to the skeletons in the chairs.

"Possibally," Rube agreed.

Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed there was a thone on the wall and it began to ring.

Hearing the phone, "I wonder who's calling this time?" Victor said with a chuckle.

"Don't answer it," Rube warned, his eyes serious.

"Alright, why not?" Victor asked

"Think about it," Rube told him as the phone continued to ring. "No ones been down here for decades, who would ring the phone each time we went into a room?"

"If I believe in them, I'd say ghosts, but since ghosts can't make phone calls, I couldn't really say." Victor replied

Rube raised an eyebrow. "Who says ghosts can't make phone calls?" he asked.

"A ghost by definition is immaterial, now a wraith, or poltergist, they could use a phone, but a ghost..." Victor replied

"A ghost is generally energy, energy can make things work," Rube then said.

"True, but it should then be able to 'talk'. Also, ghosts can't generally harm people, or at least not more than scaring them." Victor replied

Rube nodded as the phone continued to ring. "I still wouldn't pick it up," he said.

"It's your city, so I'll follow your advice." Victor replied as he continued to search for interesting artifacts.

"Things are probably very different here to from where you're from," Rube replied, leaving the room. He looked around for another door.

"That it is." Victor replied as he followe Rube.

Rube kicked his way through another doorway and found them in what looked to be a 'staff room'. He looked around at a settee and saw a skeleton sat upon it, still holding a book open in front of it.

"I bet he's fed up with that page by now," he remarked.

"I wonder what that book is?" Victor commented as he goes over to look at it.

"Stephan King, 'Misery'," Rube said from where he was. "Probably was misery for him, dying while reading a good book."

"Ah." Victor left the book reading skeleton and kept looking.

A telly that was in the coner of the room that was previously off, suddenly turned on and showed 'snow'.

"Definitly ghosts," Rube told him, sitting down beside the reading skeleton.

"Wonder what they're goal is?" Victor mused

"To scare the fuck out of people," Rube told him, placing his feet upon the coffee table. "This could make for an interesting lair sans the ghosts."

"I wouldn't have thought most vampires would be scared of ghosts." Victor replied "Or you could just get the area excorcised."

Rube glared at Victor. "They're not scarey, just annoying," he replied.

"Ah, still a good excorsism should get rid of them." Victor replied as he continued searching.

"Well to be honest, I don't like druids," Rube replied.

"Any priest of a religion, be it drudical or otherwise should be able to preform an excorcism." Victor replied

"You'd be surpised," Rube replied. "Non-Asatru have no effect here, the gods won't allow it."

"Wonder why, who can tell why gods do what they do." Victor replied as he continued to search.

"Well they laugh at people who worship nonexistant gods thats why," Rube shrugged.

The telly in the corner switched off.

"Ah, gods are odd." Victor replied as he let out a sigh, "That static was annoying."

She followed after JWolf, struggling to keep up, but he was just too fast for her on the unstable terrain. Once the angle shallowed out, she jumped on the loose rock to finish the rest of her descent in a controlled skid.

"What planning on trying to convert someone?" Rube asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Actually I meant the otherway, would they try to convert followers of other religions. I don't believe in being a missionary, or at least not an agressive missionary." Victor replied

"I don't think they're bothered really," Rube shrugged. "They exist, the nation follows them."

She hopped up about a foot from the bottom of the slope and landed neatly beside him in somewhat of a crouch.

"At least it gets the proverbial blood flowing, eh?"

"Ah, that's good, I don't mind other gods, but do dislike when they/thier followers try to convert me." Victor replied

"Oh don't worry, you won't be burnt at the stake," Rube told him.

"I don't think I've encountered a nation that still practices burning at the stake in years." Victor replied

"The Christian nations that did that have long since moved out of the dark ages," Rube replied, finally lighting up another cigarette.

"I've met non-christian nations that did it. It appears that this area is empty, shall we move on." Victor asked

Rube blew out smoke. "I hope there are sleeping quarters around," he said standing up. "Or at least lockers, that's were the loot will be."

"Most likely, shall we move on and search another section then?" Victor asked

Rube nodded and left the staff room. "Looks like a long corridor," he said. "Plenty of rooms to check."

"You take left, I take right?" Victor asked as he headed to the first door on the right

Rube said nothing and kicked through another door. Nothing more then a storage room.

"Looks promising," he said.

Victor entered the first room and began looking around for anything promising.

First box was nothing but obsolete computer parts, Rube was beginning to think the rest probably was too.

Victor began going throught the drawers and cabinets of the room. He managed to find some old money and a few pieces of cheap jewelry, both of which he pocketed before heading to the next room.

Heading back out of the room, Rube noticed the lift doors had shut and the panel had lit up. There was also the sound of what might be the lift moving.

Victor was just coming out of the second room, which had nothing in it, when he saw Rube, but failed to notice the lift, "What's up?"

The lift made a ping noise and the doors opened up, releasing a tide of blood. It was only waste deep and they didn't have to struggle against it.

"I didn't realise we were in the Overlook Hotel," Rube remarked.

"Overlook hotel?" Victor asked as he tried to avoid the majority of the blood.

"Never read 'The Shining' then?" Rube asked as the blood drained away. "This is rather worrying."

"About the book or the blood, if it's about the blood it is, I've never know vampires to be wasteful, at least around blood." Victor replied

"Ghost's remember," Rube told him. "In The Overlook Hotel, blood flowed out of the lift."

"My name is Victor Vanhel." Victor replied while thinking If they are who they claim I'm a monkey's uncle. He also partially slides one hand into his jacket, ostentatiously to scratch an itch.

Looking around, the corridor looked as if the tide of blood had never happened.

She hopped up about a foot from the bottom of the slope and landed neatly beside him in somewhat of a crouch.

"Yeah it will do that." said the Count. "Hey, I think we should start searching in that direction." He was pointing towards what looked like the end of this part of the city.

"Well, l'll pull the rock off." Aeschia agreed.

She looked at the rock and decided on a circle about ten feet wide and slowly removed it from the ground, all the way through the undergound city. This slab of rock was just floating in mid air. The two of them flew inside, and she carefully replaced the rock.

"There is something not right about this place," Rube said, looking around each of the previous rooms they had been in. "Perhaps we are close to the core of the accident, the ghosts here are restless."

Still there was no sign of Jonas.

"Possibly." Victor replied as he continued to search for Jonas.

Rube looked towards the lift, the doors were closed and the control panel lights were off. Something was definitely off.

"Keep your eyes peeled," he told victor as he walked back into the computer room.

The phone began ringing again.

"Not again, I'm very tempted to shoot that dang phone." Victor griped

Rube marched over and picked it up.

"What the fuck have you done with Jonas," he yelled.

However he got nothing but static back and slammed the phone back onto the reciever.

"I wonder what the ghost could do to him?" Victor asked

"They could do pretty much anything," Rube said coldly. "Most likely we'll be taking him home in a small plastic bag."

"Possibly but let's hope not." Victor replied

"If they work, perhaps theres something in these computers," Rube said as he looked over the screens. He couldn't tell a way to turn them on if they were operatable.

Victor began flipping switches trying to get the computers to turn on.

Rube sighed as nothing worked. "Well I suposse after all this time the computers were bound to not work," he said, scratching his unshaven chin. "Might be that the electricity is not getting to it, or theres a bad connection in one of them."

Victor began tracing the wires looking for a break.

"They won't work," came a voice.

Rube looked around to see where the voice had come from, but couldn't see anyone. One of the skeletons was looking at him.

"The computers are dead... as are we,"

"So what do you want, and do you or your kindred have Jonas?" Victor asked the voice.

"We want revenge for our suffering," the skeleton said. "This Jonas is now dust."

"And what would revenge do for you?" Victor asked

"Quench our thirst," the skeleton replied. "We must have revenge."

"Bollocks to that," Rube remarked.

"I agree, you scientists devloped the thing that caused this, so you only have yourselves to blame." Victor replied

The skeleton laughed. "And you believe the rumour?" it asked. "You weren't there."

"Then what happened?" Victor asked

"We were sabotaged," the skeleton replied.

Rube shook his head and left the room.

"Why, and why should I care, I'm not even from around here." Victor replied

The door to the room slammed shut. There was thumping on the other side followed by shouting from Rube.

"Why'd you shut the door kid?"

"We want revenge!" the skeleton shouted.

"I didn't. If you want revenge, you need to get the people responsible, not just harrass anyone you can find, it's bad policy and form." Victor replied

The skeleton seemed to have died away amidst Rube's banging on the door. The phone began ringing once more.

"Dang phone." Victor muttered as he went to open the door.

The door was stuck.

"Stand back," Rube yelled from the other side and the buzz of a lightsaber could soon be heard.

Victor stood back, and once Rube was througth said "The phone's ringing again."

"Ignore it, we're getting out of here," Rube told him.

"Sure, you seem to be more on edge than normal." Victor replied

"This place is just really pissing me off," Rube told him before trying to open the lift doors.

"Ah." Victor replied

Once inside the lift, Rube began climbing up. He didn't check to see if Victor was following as he climbed out into the already ransacked corridor.

Victor followed Rube and once out, "So where now?"

"We get the fuck out of here," Rube replied, heading for the exit.

"Alright." Victor replied while thinking, Man he's edgy.

Rube shifted his hat and headed back outside. As he did so, he placed it lightsaber back inside his coat and began whistling to himself.

Rube gave him a strange look. "We are underground," he replied.

"So are you a Jedi?" Victor asked

ooc: I had thought when you said " headed back outside" you meant outside outside. Will delete privious post

"Nope, stole it from a dead sith," Rube replied. He headed back for the tight tunnel they had been in previously, he vowed not to return to the labs unless Zanaar ordered him to.

"Did you have anything to do with making him dead?" Victor asked

"Nope," he replied. "I was scouting a battlefield."

"Ah." Victor replied, "What were you doing scouring a battlefield?"

"I was looking for a good lightsaber," Rube replied, entering the dark tunnel.

"Ah." Victor replied as he followed Rube.

"Before you ask... I only drink from the living so no I wasn't doing that there," Rube then told him.

He hated the tunnel and the sooner he was out of it, the better.

"Ah." Victor replied

"I get my blood from stored blood." Victor replied

"So..." Rube began. "Where do you get your blood from?"

"I get it from blood banks, whenever possible." Victor replied

"I have friends in blood banks so if you need any just ask me," Rube replied.

"I have enought to last a few weeks before I need to think about getting a refill, and that doesn't count the reserve." Victor replied "If it turns out I need it I'll remember your offer thought."

Rube nodded. "You got anywhere to stay kid?" he then asked.

"Not yet." Victor replied

"I'm sure Soren could put you up," Rube told him.

"The researcher, what would he charge?" Victor asked

"Nothing," Rube told him.

"I'll see, so what now, or is it nearing sleep time?" Victor asked

"We'll had back to Soren's place, see if he'll give you a room," Rube suggested.

"Ah, do you have to sleep or do you just get sluggish when the sun is up?" Victor asked

"Just a little sluggish, nothing sevre," Rube shrugged.

"Ah." Victor replied as they continued to walk down the corridor.

Soon they were out of the tunnel and back into another cavern. The group of vampire's were still playing cricket. The ball bounced near them as as a vampire with large ears that stuck out ran after it.

Victor asks the jugeared vampire, "How often and how long do you play cricket?"

The vampire just ignored him.

"It's rude to interupt a cricketer in play," Rube told him

"Ah." Victor replied

Rube continued to walk on while the vampires continued to play.

"You'd probably do best not to ask questions," he warned Victor.

"Probably." Victor replied

Rube said nothing more until they arrived at Soren's lair. He was surprised to see them as he hadn't messaged Rube to tell him to come.

"Can you give the kid a room?" he asked.

"Sure," Soren replied.

"Have you found anything out?" Victor asked

"So far I'm afraid not," Soren replied. "It's a long shot to find him."

"Ya, I know. Any indication of any other members of the clan?" Victor asked

"So far nothing," Soren explained. "However I am still running scans that could take a day."

"Alright." Victor replied

"First door at the top of the stairs will be your room," Soren told Victor.

"Thank you." Victor replied as he headed to his room.

Victor's room was simple, it had a bed, a wardrobe, a chest of draws and a window that was fused into the bedrock so there was no view oustide whatsoever.

"The ghosts at the lab got Jonas," Rube told Soren.

"Damn," the elven vampire cursed. "So they are real then."

Rube nodded.

Victor settle in and began to drift.

Rube wasn't happy with the turn of events and decided to head back to his flat. Soren headed back upstairs to check on if Victor's target had been spotted or not.

Victor continued to doze.

Soren checked the screens over and over again. Nothing, not even any of his contacts had seen any of them either. He sat back in his chair and wondered if the vampire that Victor seeked had ever come to Draconis Nightcrawlis.

Aproximetly six hours after he headed to the room he was given, Victor woke and headed down the stairs.

Soren was there waiting for him. "I'm afraid I haven't been able to find him," he said.

"I knew it was a long shot, but I still had to check it out." Victor replied

"Back to the drawing board huh?" Soren replied.
