A Time For A Change (Openish FT Vampire RP)

“You smell that?” a dark figure asked. “Ah, the smell of change is in the air. It is very refreshing, that Azazel was bad for all us vampires everywhere.”
The voice belonged to the self-proclaimed vampire prince, Zanaar. Near him stood his seer, Marie. One of a few that had escaped Lord Azazels kidnapping of the seers of Draconis Nightcrawlis. She had as a young girl been freaked out by her visions. She thought she would be punished by the Norns for having them and cut out her own eyes in order to stop the visions. That of course failed and she was left blind and still had the curse of the visions. That led her to a mental breakdown and she was left in a mental hospital. There she was found by Zanaar and turned, the rest as they say is history.
“Sand, demon and dragon,” she said.
Zanaar raised an eyebrow. “As cryptic as ever,” he smirked.
Caer Chan Caddug, once the nations capital, was now the lost city fused into the bedrock below Exetergrecia. Just perfect for vampires to hide in during the daylight hours.
“The dragon will lead, behind stand sand and demon,” Marie then said.
Zanaar walked up beside her, running a hand through her hair. His vampiric eyes glistened in the darkness. “You have such a way with words,” he said, staring at her neck and recalling the time when he had turned her. He could still recall her sweet tasting blood. “My dear seer, this does indeed signal that Azazel’s time has come to an end.”
Marie nodded. “Yes my Master.”
Zanaar smiled to himself. This was good, so very good. Once Azazel was out of the way, the vampires could get a bigger foothold on the miserable planet. “That grandson of his, he is this dragon, yes?” he asked.
The seer turned her head in his direction, a lock of hair fell over her stitched shut eyes. “Yes, my Master, he is,” she told him. “King of dragons.” She moved her head away again. “He could be trouble.”
That intrigued Zanaar. “How so?” he asked.
“Because he is a closed friend of Zathar Cyredathem,” she explained.
Zanaar’s face turned to that of a scowl. “A Cyredathem,” he spat. “Family of vampire hunters that plague our kind, we can’t afford to let him gain power.”
“He is already gaining power, my Master,” Marie warned him. “He advances on his grandfather, that is the change you feel in the air, not a good change.”
Zanaar muttered something under his breath to which Marie could not hear. He pulled at his black suit and began to leave the room. “Then we shall do something about it.”
**
Exetergrecia was a popular place for vampires, even before the fall of the royal family. Two hundred million people packed into the capital city of Draconis Nightcrawlis meant a good supply of fresh blood. Then there were the vampire haunts, some popular, some obscure. It was the more popular ones that had a tendancy to attract vampire hunters and vampire hunter wannabies. Since Azazel’s rise to power, the number of vampire haunts had grown in size and so had the number of vampire hunters. One such haunt was a tavern known as The Red Cow. Once it had been a popular place for diplomats, officials and others who used to run the country, including one Prince Kurt. Since the days of the royal family, there had been a change of owner ship and the diplomats and officials never again dared to go back.
The atmosphere was dreary and mostly gothic music was played. Some Lacuna Coil could be heard. Behind the bar was a tall black-haired female, she could have been human as she could naturally be pale, intensified by her black hair and the heavy makeup around her eyes. The tavern was packed and rife with chatter between vampires and other beings of the night. Except for werewolves as they didn’t get along with vampires.

Jonas was just your average vampire. He didn’t know who his sire was, one day he had gone to a tavern much like the one he was in now and met a beautiful woman. He knew he had had lots to drink that night, as it had been a complete blur. The following afternoon he awoke in a dingy crypt alone. The first thing he actually thought of was to leave since he felt a hunger he had never experienced before in his life. As soon as sun touched his skin it burst into flames and he instantly knew what that meant. From then on he had been a vampire, hiding in the shadows when the sun came and drinking human blood. Unlike some vampires he didn’t much care for elven blood.
“Jonas, you’re wondering off into dreamland again,” came a gruff voice.
Jonas was suddenly brought back into the real world of The Red Cow. He was sat at the bar, tankard in hand. Next to him was a scruffy man in a black leather trenchcoat and hat, lighting up a cigarette.
“Don’t forget why you’re here,” he told him.
“Yes I know,” Jonas replied and took a gulp of ale.
The man who was sat next to him turned and watched the door. It appeared that he was waiting for someone.

OOC: I'm gonna assume I can post since you gave me the go-ahead in the OOC thread..
Drusilia had been watching the two at the bar all night. Discreetly, of course, as a big vampire who called himself Cyris seemed to think he held claim over her. Icy blue eyes watched them from the confines of his arm, tearing away only long enough to laugh politely at a joke or comment. He said he was a child of Marius, but she could sense none of her sire in him.
She had come to this place in search of a legend. Of a vampire so brazen as to name himself prince of their kind. So far no leads. People here seemed to avoid the subject around her, a foreigner. That was the only explanation she could come up with. But even for a place utterly infested with their kind, the vampires here were strange. She was accustomed to living in shadow, in secrets and whispers. A disease festering in their hatred of human oppression. Here they had an entire subculture. She could see only danger in it. Vampires attracted hunters as naturally as flowers attracted bees.
Cyris traced the side of her face, brushing a few strands of red hair aside to expose her neck. She smiled coyly, nipping at his hand. But she did not care about this one. She used his affections as an excuse to watch the man in the hat and his companion once more. Those who shrouded themselves in silence housed many secrets.

"So is he coming?" Jonas wondered.
They had been in the tavern for what already seemed like hours. He picked up his tankard of ale and drank the last of it.
"I don't know how you can drink that stuff," the scruffy man remarked, without taking his eyes off the door.
Jonas allowed a weak smirk to cross his face. "I'm used to it," he replied.
The scruffy man tapped his fingers against the bar. "If he is not here in the next hour then fuck him."
As Victor stepped into the tavern he kept the hood of his cloak up, this was for a couple reasons, these being he wasn't entirely sure how these vampires would view a member of the Dhampir, as well he didn't want to risk giving the members of his fathers clan more information on his movments than possible. Victor headed to the bar and ordered a drink. Those of vampiric blood would see him as human, while most humans would see him as elvish, at least those who didn't look to closely would. Anyone looking into his eyes would see they were red and appeared to shine, even without light reflecting off them.

The scruffy man tilted his head forward and looked at the newcomer. "Fe fi fo thumb, I smell the blood of a dhampir," he remarked.
Jonas raised an eyebrow but said nothing. Like most vampires in the tavern, he didn't take any notice of the dhampir.
Victor turned to face the scruffy man and smiled, revealing the smaller fangs that are characteristical of the Dhampir. As he reached for his drink, his cloak was partially brushed to the side, revealling a number of vials as well as a few stakes, a few of the vials containing a yellowy liquid with a paste at the bottom, clearly labled with a G, a couple with a clearly labled H, the others containing a red liquid with a lable B.

"Not from around here are ya kid?" the scruffy man said, noticing the stakes and vials.
The tall barmaid looked at him, then looked at a group of vampires that were gathered around a nearby pool table and shook her head. The group of vampires turned their attention to Victor. The scruffy man gave them a fierce look.
"Trying to start something kid?"
"With you?" Victor replied, as he noticed where the man was looking, "If I was after you, one of us would be dead by know." Victor stated as he flipped the hood back, revealing dark red hair.

The scruffy man looked up at the group of vampires again, they looked ready for a fight. "That would be you kid," he said. "You would not make it out of here in one peice if you tried anything."
Jonas said nothing as he drank out of a fresh tankard.
"As I said kid, you're not from around here are you?"
"Perhaps, as to your question, no I'm not from around here at all." Victor replied as he finished his drink, ordered another one, pulled out one of the red vials, opened it and drank the contents, before closing it.

The scruffy man kept his eyes on the group by the pool table. He half pulled out a dagger and flashed it at them. "Well only an outsider would be carry bottles of water and think he's being tough with them," he remarked. "So outsider, what brings you here?"
"I'm looking for a clan of vampire and since this town has a reputation as being a haven for those of the vampiric persuasion, it may have either those of the clan I'm looking for or information on them." Victor replied, noting the actions of the scruffy man and the group around the pool table.

"This is a city kid," the scruffy man told him. "The best place for info is down there." He pointed towards the ground. "Caer Chan Caddug, the old capital."
He looked at the door before nodding at Jonas. "Looks like the fucks not coming," he said. "You want info kid, come with us."
"Alright, shall we go?" Victor asks as he downs the second drink. He tosses a few extra coins for the services and follows the scruffy man.
The Transylvania
20-05-2005, 20:09
The Sith warrior had no idea why he can to this planet. It was like the planet was calling him here. After landing a shuttle in the shuttle bay of the nearest city, he head to where vampires were. A place called The Red Cow. As Count JWolf walked inside, his hazel eyes scanned the room. His armor was hidden under brown cloak. He left his helmet back in the shuttle.
Vampire, vampire, vampire. He said in his head. Then he walked up to the bar and said “Fine place you got here.”
Draconis Nightcrawlis
20-05-2005, 20:15
"We really seem to be attracting the outsiders today," the scruffy man said, looking at Count JWolf. He then passed him by and went to head outside followed by Jonas.
The group of vampires around the pool table were still watching them.
The Transylvania
20-05-2005, 20:25
The Count watched as the barkeeper walked by him and saw him head outside. Still not knowing why he was here.
Maybe I should follow them. He asked himself. Then he turned to head outside when he saw the pool table.
Man, I have not played pool in years. He said to himself. Then a name flashed through his mind. Zanaar
Need to get more information on him. He said to himself. He looked over at the barmaid and said “Know a Zanaar?”
Draconis Nightcrawlis
20-05-2005, 20:29
The scruffy man stopped walking and looked over his shoulder at him. "Everyone knows Zanaar, he is the selfproclaimed prince afterall," he told him. "What do you want with him?"
The Transylvania
20-05-2005, 20:33
“Well, I’m the True King of Vampires.” said the Count “I would like to meet him because I have a felling that is why I’m on this planet.”
Victor stopped to see what was going on between the scruffy man and the other newcomer.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
20-05-2005, 20:37
The scruffy man chuckled. "Anyone can give themselves a silly title like that," he replied. "Vampire's don't need a king, besides Zanaar is busy with the upcoming battle between Lord Azazel and his grandson."
The Transylvania
20-05-2005, 20:48
"Well, Zanaar has a silly title too." said the Count. "Vampires have no rulers but their masters." Then the Count appeared in the man's face. "Every seen a 50,000 year old vampire?" asked the Count "Because you have just meet one. Now, is somebody going to take me to Zanaar."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
20-05-2005, 21:00
The scruffy man looked at Victor. "We have something else I'd rather do right now," he replied. "Maybe later."
Turning around, he and Jonas headed down an alley alongside the tavern.
Victor followed after scruffy and Jonas.
The Transylvania
20-05-2005, 21:04
The Count looked at them then sat down at the nearest table to wait.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
20-05-2005, 21:09
At the end of the alley, the scruffy man lifted up a manhole cover and he looked towards Victor, while noticing that Count JWolf had not followed. "Only way to Caer Chan Caddug is through the sewers," he said.
Jonas was first to climb down.
Victor followed after Jonas, eyes seeming to brighten in the darkness, as the light reduced the masking of it.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
20-05-2005, 21:23
The scruffy man climbed in after them and the manhole cover slammed down after him. After what seemed like a long trek through the sewers, going deeper into the system, they came across a large crack in the wall. It looked just large enough for someone to squeeze through.
"It's a tight fit kid," he said as Jonas began to squeeze into the crack.
Once through the crack, Jonas was happy to see the long wide cavern that led down into the long forgotten old capital city.
Victor worked his way throught the crack, and looked over the cavern that lead somewhere, presumably to the old city.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
20-05-2005, 21:33
The cavern spiralled down into the depths of the underground. Down here was just right for vampires and other creatures of the night. The further down the went, the more they began to see of the old city fused into the bedrock.
"So what was it you were looking for again kid?" the scruffy man asked.
"A clan of vampires, which includes my father." Victor replied
Draconis Nightcrawlis
20-05-2005, 21:48
"Clans," the scruffy man pondered as the cavern morphed into an old street with ruined houses on each side. "I know just the person to see, hope you don't mind a long trek kid."
The scream of a woman filled the air, seemingly echoing around them.
"Not at all," Refering to the scream, "I take it this is were you feed as well as sleep?"
Draconis Nightcrawlis
20-05-2005, 22:00
"Neither personally," the scruffy man said. "I live in a flat near Embassy Square and I never feed down here kid."
The street gaveway to another narrow cavern. The outlines of houses were melded into the walls, twisted like some form of abstract art. There was also the odd twisted skeleton or remenants of a car. To get to where he was leading Victor, there would be some areas that would look inaccessable, but the scruffy man always knew his way around.
"Ah, so who are we going to see?" Victor asked
Draconis Nightcrawlis
20-05-2005, 22:10
"An associate," the scruffy man said as Jonas quietly followed behind. "Don't be to upset if he doesn't find anything for you."
"I don't really expect him too, but if theres a chance I could find information, I'll take it." Victor replied
Draconis Nightcrawlis
20-05-2005, 22:24
Up a head, the cavern ended in a door. The scruffy man opened it and walked though onto a narrow ledge. Next to it was a wide underground river, a bend took it away from the cavern they had previously been in.
"We're all searching for something," he said. "Our journey ends when we find it."
"True, if you don't mind me asking, how long since you were turned?" Victor asked
Draconis Nightcrawlis
20-05-2005, 22:33
"Somewhere over 250 years ago, I lost count decades ago," the scruffy man said. "Not as old as some but alot older then green vamp here."
He looked over at Jonas who just shrugged at him.
"Who's the oldest vampire in the city?" Victor asked as they continued thier walk.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
20-05-2005, 22:52
"Wouldn't know kid," he said as they neared the end of the ledge. "There man vampires that are so old their ages have long since been lost in time. Some may be as old as the Gods themselves but I don't believe that."
Soon they had run out of ledge and it appeared that they would have to cross the river.
"The boat should be along anytime soon,"

Back at the tavern, the group of vampires watched Count JWolf briefly before going back to their game of pool.
The Count watched the men start their game back up when a idea jumped into his head. It was a bad one, if anything would go wrong but it would be funny one. Right as one of them lined up their shot, the Count moved the ball over an inches using his mind.
"Ah yes, I always forget that vampires have problems with running water, I don't why I can never remember that." Victor said with a grin.

"As to last location, that was a small town in another nation, as to present location, anywhere." Victor replied

21-05-2005, 00:17
Rube nodded in understanding. "Unfortunately being anywhere makes it harder to track them down," he said as the boat continued to cross the river. "Do you really think he might have come here?"
"He might not have but quite possibly one of the members of the clan may have." Victor replied
Draconis Nightcrawlis
21-05-2005, 00:23

"This way," he said.

"So what's this 'Prince Of Vampire' like?" Victor asked as he followed Rube.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
21-05-2005, 23:45
"He's not the Prince of Vampires persay, he is just the Prince of this area," Rube told him.
Twisted old lamp posts lit up the street. The houses in the area were livable and in some lights were on.
"I like him," Jonas said.
"He's harsh but fair," Rube told him.
"So the head of his clan?" Victor asked
Draconis Nightcrawlis
21-05-2005, 23:51
Rube shook his head. "Head of all vampires in Exetergrecia," he explained. "At least to those clans who accept him."
"Ah, so how did he get to his position?" Victor asked
Draconis Nightcrawlis
21-05-2005, 23:57
"The usual way," Rube told him, adjusting his hat slightly. "Violence, threats and a little cash."
From a window a shadowy figure watched.
"No offence but his method of gaining his rank seems more like a mob style power struggle than the methods I've seen more often used amongst vampire lords." Victor replied
Draconis Nightcrawlis
22-05-2005, 00:13
Rube just shrugged as he walked up to a door and knocked. "You get into power however which way you want," he told him. "Zanaar wanted to get into that position of power and got it." He paused for a moment before adding. "You don't expect us to vote via elections do you?"
"Not really, most clans I've meet have decide leadership and other similars throught one on one combat." Victor replied "So how much further?"
Draconis Nightcrawlis
22-05-2005, 00:19
A slide window in the door opened and two pale yellow eyes peered out.
"Rube," came a gruff voice.
The door unbolted and they were led inside to a very messy living room. The voice belonged to an elven vampire with a blueish-white skin and blue hair.
"Make yourselves comfortable," he said.
Victor took a seat while thinking Elven vampire, now that's something you don't see very often.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
22-05-2005, 00:28
"So what might you be here for," the elven vampire asked, looking in Rubes direction.
Rube instead turned his attention to Victor. "Tell him kid,"
"I'm looking for information on a clan of vampire." Victor replied

22-05-2005, 00:36

Drusilia tensed as her Master entered the tavern. She had sensed him, yet distractions being what they were, she hadn't realized he was coming here. Her eyes narrowed in hate when she recognized Aeschia. That bitch of a demon was the sole reason she had broken with Marius, though she doubted if either really knew. Quietly, she slipped from Cyris' grasp and made her way outside in that silent subtle way Marius had taught her so long ago.
Nothing to do now but follow the Sith. He was the only one she could sense, other than her own bloodline. Power veritably radiated from him... And if he was seeking the same goal, perhaps she could leech off a bit of information.

The Count has walked along time, he was on his way back to the Red Crow. Then a beeping noise was coming for inside his cloak. He walked into a dark alley about two blocks away for the Red Crow.
Flipping his right hand over and a holo-gram of a young man appeared. A 26-year-old male wearing black robe with black long hair. His name was Edgar Hart and JWolf started training him in the way of the Dark Side at the age of five. The Count killed his parents and took the kid as his own.
“Master, there is no Jedi temple on this planet.” said Edgar.
“I know that but there is a Jedi on this planet. Prince Kurt II.” said the Count. “Plus, I’m looking for Zanaar. I will find the Jedi later.”
“I will get all the information of both of them I can, Master.” said Edgar.
“Good.” said the Count.
Then he closed his right hand and walked back out of the alley. He started walking back to the Red Crow.

While Marius still cared for her, his attentions were more focused on that woman. And while Aeschia had tried to adopt a motherly nurturing role, it only served to drive a wedge further between the two.
Marius had been strong. He had saved her from the cruelty of her masters. Aeschia retained her emotions, almost human-like at times. And Dru hated the humans for what they did to her as a child, and what they continued to do to her people as a child of the Night.

Looking over at Drusilia, he said “We go down that tunnel then walk 250 yards. After that we will be in the other city.” He jumped over the walkway and down to the tunnel. He looked in for little bit before walking into the tunnel.
Another city... That certainly cleared up some of the confusion. In her limited questioning, the local vampires kept referencing the old city. She thought they had been talking about another time, but apparantly some things could be taken literally.
"You knew Marius?" The question was little more than superficial. Marius certainly seemed to think he knew JWolf.
Marius and Aeschia were so high and mighty in their mannerisms... but their affection for each other clouded their vision. All emotions clouded vision. All except anger. Anger brought with it a stunning clarity, snapping everything into focus. She had learned this long ago and utilized it well. They were bringing about their own downfall.
"Want a hand up?" Victor called down.

"You knew Marius?"
"Yeah, I knew him." said the Count walking through the tunnel. "I'm happy I left that planet and now he show his face. Next time, I see him." he took a small pause and added "I will kill him."

"Want a hand up?" Victor called down.
"No, I'm fine," Rube said. "Now hurry up, not much further."
"Alright." Victor replied as he continued down the path.

"You'll get no argument from me. An enemy of his is a friend of mine. The pair of them are deluded and far too human in their mindset."
She followed complacently, scanning the tunnel ahead of them and to either side for unexpected visitors.

"Alright." Victor replied as he continued down the path.
The sudden strench of rotting flesh filled the tunnel, neither Rube nor Jonas seemed bothered by it.
"Gangral lair," Rube muttered.
"Who's?" Victor asked, while he was slightly bothered by the smell, it wasn't worse than other things he had smelled.

"Don't know, Gangral's tend to leave rotting corpses around," Rube explained as the came up to where the tunnel split into two.
Remembering his previous trip down here, he headed down the right tunnel.

"Yes, an ancient should act like a vampire and not damn human." said the Count. They were about halfway through the tunnel when JWolf stopped and said, "I have to set something up, if those idiot try and follow us."
He got to his knees and putted something for under his cloak. It looked like an old mine for Earth.
A Claymore types mine but it was not from Earth. It was a Conner Ship Systems HX2 Mine from the last galaxy he was sin. He wired it up with a trip wire for somebody to walk by it and set it off. Then placed one on the roof of the tunnel. “There, now he can head forwards.” He contiune to the exit of the tunnel.
"Odd behavior, but it's his life, or should I say unlife." Victor replied as he followed Rube.

"Gangral's are a clan, not a single vampire," Rube told him.
"Still odd behavior but enh." Victor commented as he continued to walk.

"For a Gangral, no," Rube began to explain. "They're a feral bunch, usually they're rural, but some have sinced moved into Caer Chan Caddug."

"They won't be back for a while. It's not like them. But that might come in handy for whatever was living in that dry area a while back."
Or foolish hunters.
"Enh, still odd behavior in general." Victor replied

"If it were any other vampire I would agree with you," Rube replied, familiarity was beginning to come through. They were going the right way. "If you ever see a Gangral, you would understand."
"Shall we continue on the way then?" Victor asked

Rube was still walking, "Sure kid," he replied. He took his mobile out and looked at it, nothing yet from Soren and hoped it would still work around the lab.
"So how many clans live in this city?" Victor asked

"Many," Rube said. "Some are very well known, others obscure so it is hard to say exactly."
