There were some few small and confusing things, but nothing big (unfortunately). We're currently working on starting a major war that has like half the space-nations involved. We hope this will convince some to stay (Sniper Country left because he found space was boring)

Hmm, remember the Jumpnode map?

I'm considering doing something slightly different, if I get enough approval here.

I am thinking of writing a small program, that allows Space Nations to register there systems on the JNN, (no map, heh). If your system conflicts with another, it will tell you. When a jumpnode is used (simply right-clicking on the icon in the taskbar and typing in a destination), all users within a few lightyears of that system are informed via a small message. (Or simply logged to a file, depending on settings.)

The program will consist of a client, which will allow for:

* Registration to the jumpnode network. (Requires no more than your nation name and a password, NOT YOUR NATION PASS THOUGH.)
* Alerting all nearby nations of your jumpnode activity, (unless its a stealth jump, which will only be allowed to be used 2 times per week, and in that case no-one will be informed except the server for debug messages.)
* Viewing alerts to nearby jumps.
* Listing of nearby neighbours and/or free systems. (Which can be added /very/ easily by me at the server end :P)
* Estimate journey times.
* Anything else you can suggest.

The server is the back-end that you never see. It will:

* Handle registrations using 256-bit Serpent encryption algorithms.
* Log jumps in case of disputes over "instant movement" godmodding.
* Allow for me to update with new systems probably on a daily basis.
* Use a very basic protocol that I will probably release at some point.

Basically, the client connects to the server, registers your details, claims your systems, informs others if they try to infringe on your claims (as well as alerting you), notifies you of recent/current jumpnode activity and will list thousands of free systems that you can settle.

OH. I forgot to mention. It will also at some point allow for you to show what forces you have in each system, allow easy editing of it, and will show system allegiences in some kind of chart.

If I get enough positive responses, I'll start work soon :P

Answer to question 1: I'll hardcode all current known claims to the system into it before it it released.

Klonor, if you have any experience with protocol writing/development, c++ or Visual basic, i'll accept any help you can give.

I happen to be an expert in both Visual Basic, and C++. In fact, the webbrowser that I'm using right now I made (myself), using VB.

Yeah, they're bilogical weapons ships (designed to use bio weapons)

The fact is that there's no Article or GA law that prohibits biological weapons, so since you donated the ship I can't see any reason not to accept it. I'll make sure it never goes anywhere near an inhabited planet (or ship), and I'll try to make sure that they're not even made (no offense), but it's design is still owned by the GA.

And if said I already had 25, hovering ominously near Mars, Terra and Punjabia, what would you say?

(Please bear in mind, the combined Roanian Galactic Navy could eat you, consisting as it does of

35% Roania's military (Which in itself is 4% of my nation)

58% of New Roan's military (About 58% of the Colony's population, which if you know anything about what goes on on NS Mars, would seem a bit small)

No plans are in place to use them, and they are being prepared for an expedition that doesn't concern this planet, or this alliance.

Then I'd say good for you. And make sure that nothing happens, because I'm sure some GA members have stuff on Mars, and we don't like having our people attacked by other members.

It wold be museres above our current habatats which are astroides that have been hallowed out and given a rotation for gravity sure there nice but they are expensive and take a long time to set up.

IH just invited me to join but after reading the Articles I have some misgivings, so I have a couple of questions. If I introduce technology for my ships after joining would that make it alliance tech and therefore make any ship that I use it on an alliance ship? I don't want to build a fleet for national defense and have all but one of my ships in that fleet under alliance control (I wouldn't have that problem with the extrasolar fleet I'll be building after my home defense fleet is completed).

Seing as our area of influence is growing at an astounding rate and our defences of said area are as many probings by an contracted force. We are making the second construction fleet avable for improving defences withen allied space.

......Klonor has still not put me on the member list... until he does, i do not feel obligated to share technology with the GA, 'cuz im technically not a member (although i will, it just bothers me that im not on the member list on the GA site) Anyway... inabout 10 NS years, we will be re-desigining our entire fleet, so everything old will go to allies, and the GA. The reason for this re-design will be that we will no longer need massive ships with massive crews, since we will have completed phase 1 of the AI conversion program. (look for the thread if you care to have proof, i started it today, and have posted absolutely nothing on it)

There's a major GA discount. Also, the GA has it's own fleet, so don't feel that you have to make this massive death dealing group of ships.
