OOC: My attack helicopters aren't performing straffing runs that have become to common in OEF or OIF, they are performing "shoot and duck" tactics as they were designed for in the NATO Shooting War (Fulda Gap, Black Horse Cav, etc.)

Also, the TOW, due to its wire-guidance, cannot be fired on the move, since the gunner would be too jarred by going cross country that he would end up driving the missile into the ground. Hence why Humvees and Bradleys need to halt to fire their BGM-71s.

IC:

The Stinger had always been a formidable enemy as they downed a number of the Viper helicopters. The other pilots took the MANPADS fire as a lesson to keep their aircraft safe behind the hills and trees as they continued to duck out and continue firing their cannon rounds and rockets.

The 5.56mm rounds of the G36E rifles pinged off the armour of the M55 tanks and M4A2 Spartans as the Javelin missiles struck and exploded vehicles or streaked past harmlessly, obviously fired on the run. The .50-calibre rounds also pinged off the Spartans, nevertheless causing large dents in the armour, while the 30mm rounds had an easier time penetrating the applique composite armour, causing many vehicles to be abandonded by their infantry and crews before becoming engulfed in flames. Those who were forced to abandon their vehicles quickly took up firing positions, infantry aiming their G65 rifles and MG85 machineguns and firing at the advancing infantry, sweeping their lines. As those armed with M7A1 LAW launchers fired their 75mm Thermobaric warheads into the masses of infantry as the anti-tank gunners equipped with FGM-148D Javelins, selected their targets, the massive Behemoth II vehicles and fired off their missiles as they raised into the sky and sped down towards the weaker roof armour. As quickly as they fired, the infantry, drilled well, reloaded and continued the fight.

Lieutenant-Colonel Rocke watched as one of the 220mm rounds struck one of his M55 tanks and completely exploded it in an orange flash. Black smoke covered the battlefield as vehicles burned on both sides and the mercenary infantry advanced on the armoured troopers. Rocke's gunner ordered the loader to start loading canister rounds as the infantry came within 500 metres of the Aequatian lines. The young private called out on the intercom, "Canister, up!" Rocke watched as a number of his tanks dropped off his monitor as the AV-18 missiles streaked in and put them out of action.

"On the way!" Said the gunner as the gun fired, incinerating the shrubs near the muzzle of the gun as the 125mm gun spit out over a thousand 12.7mm Tungsten pellets towards the line of Griffincrest infantry and soft-skinned vehicles. The other tank commanders followed suit as they fired the large shotgun shells into the enemy lines, by now, only one out of three tanks was still firing anti-tank rounds at the massive enemy Behemoth II tanks. Just as the first squadron of AH-72 Viper helicopters were running dry of ammunition, the division's second squadron arrived and took up the same positions, this time firing their AGM-65R Super Maverick missiles, guided by the FLIR television cameras mounted on the missile's nose through the choking black fog, towards the enemy Behemoth II tanks.

It was then that the colonel heard the most beautiful code on the radio as the fighting continued, "Zulu, zulu, zulu!" He checked his monitor as he saw the image of the sixty BA-74 Arrow tactical bombers closing in, Five minutes out, come on, guys, hurry your asses!

OOC: 250 incredibly advanced missiles and you lose 5 planes. I think they would all be destroyed.

The F-22s (with low radar visability, radar-absorbing material and modern ECM) would have an easier time evading the missiles, however, the F-18s, even if it was a newer E/F model, would have a hard time fully evading AIM-120s.

Yay, I got my map up! http://img157.imageshack.us/my.php?image=twspmap1gt9zq3.png

More Gnats soon filled the skies, over 100 of them. They were determined to clear a path to Red City. It just happened that in their path was also the Aequatian bombers. The five F-4's also send with them for surveilance picked up the enemy planes. "Prepare for a fight ladies" a pilot said sarcastically.

The men on the ground were taking huge casualties. Many were saved by the ceramic inserts in their kevlar vests, but many more were killed. The army finally stopped moving and layed down overwhelming fire. 500,000 men + tanks could lay down tons more fire than the Aequatians could. Every man and vehicle was now opening fire. Screaming mercenaries were being rushed to the rear in humvees as the battle picked up. The Javelin and G36E fire was now much more accurate as they were no longer running, and most were taking cover behind the dozens of burning Behemoth's or Leopards.

More stingers were fired, even though it was assumed they would do little now. Hundred of BM-21's were called in to fire on the Aequatian anti-air weapons, as the AV-18's were put on alert to move in once they were disabled.

The Undershi IIS Storm Troopers have launched an all-out attack against the forces encircling the Beiraqian forces. Displaying an almost suicidal disreguard for their own safety, they're advancing as fast as they can, apparently relying on "shock and awe" to win the day as their artillery pounds the enemy positions ahead of their advance with as much power as they can muster. As the forces close with one another, the Drake MBTs began firing their Gauss cannons, supported by the Viper IFVs and the IIS heavy infantry as they unloaded... it looked like this was going to be a swift and brutal battle.

Rocke ordered the task force back as the Aequatian line began to bend in some areas, but not break, as the surviving tanks and infantry carriers began to move back towards the third defensive position line. Dismounted infantry, those who had their vehicles destroyed, climbed aboard M35A1 gun trucks that raced to the front, the gunners firing their M2C1 12.7mm machineguns into the Griffincrest mercenaries as they drove for the defensive position. The Cyclone air defence vehicles then turned their weapons against the ground targets, sweeping the enemy infantry and light vehicles with their 25mm vulcan cannons, firing high-explosive rounds that detonated half a second after contact, so that they would cause enough internal damage once their pierced armour, although this was normally the nominal armour on aircraft.

The 72 Sabre 155mm self-propelled guns opened fire with their DPICM rounds, firing a dozen rounds each before starting to move to another firing position. The rounds burst in the air and released 172,800 shaped-charge munitions on the advancing infantry and vehicles. The mortar nits of the division joined in the barrage as well, the 120mm automatic mortars mounted on Centurion light armoured vehicles fired in salvos, lobbing 1,152 high-capacity high-explosive rounds down onto the enemy positions.

The sixty BA-74 Arrow bombers of the first wave streaked in low over the withdrawing Aequatian forces before releasing their cluster weapons against the advancing enemy forces. Almost 57,600 shaped-charge submunitions rained down on the advancing infantry as the swept-wing aircraft turned hard and started back for the Red City airbase. Ten minutes behind was the second wave, armed with the same weapons as they moved in with almost sixty F-1C Banshee fighters that had been performing air combat patrols around the city and were redirected to join the fight.

Lieutenant-Colonel Rocke looked at his monitor which kept an inventory of the vehicle's ammunition supply and displayed that they had been reduced to just ten rounds of various types. He gave his gunner a light kick before speaking into the intercom, "Sergeant, make sure you only shoot at what you can hit, we need to save our ammunition until we get to the 2nd Division's lines," He said as the tank drove over the rough terrain, Thank god for the lessons learned in the Red Tide campaigns.

Many of the Stinger weapons streaked into terrain features such as trees or hillsides or trailed off after countermeasure flares launched by the AH-72 helicopters as the avoided the missiles. They returned fire on the enemy troops, firing 35mm high-explosive fragmentation rounds which airburst, raining shrapnel over the infantry and a small number of 70mm rockets and their white phosphorus warheads which exploded as they struck the ground and sprayed the infantry with burning fragments that covered the area.

----------

The 2nd Infantry Division's forces took up their own defensive positions that had been prepared just North of Red City. In addition to the trenches and makeshift bunkers built for the dismounted infantry there was also dugout positions for the division's M55 tanks as they monitored the horizon in hull down positions. The engineers had laid fields of anti-tank mines with channels for the retreating 1st Infantry Division's units to pass through, additional watch was placed on the channels, which could be used by the enemy forces to pass through once they arrived.

The Fire Arrow MLRS and Broadsword 203mm self-propelled guns of the 1st Infantry Division's artillery had reached the city and had been amalgamated with the DIVARTY of the 2nd Infantry for the city's defence. Frantically, the gunners and support personnel worked to prepare for the coming assault. At the airbase, the third wave of sixty BA-74 Arrow bombers, which had been refitted with different weapons, lifted off with an escorting force of sixty EF-2B Baal ECM fighters as they moved North towards the enemy lines.

At this point, mercenary deaths in the war were now tottalling over 10,000. The bombing run caused chaos for the mercenaries. Thousands of men fell as the shrapnel tore through them. Blood and screams filled the air, as men were trampled over when the army continued on.

75,000 men, 200 Leopards, and 300 Mercury's moved to make a flanking strike on the left flank. Hundreds of smoke grenades were fired from the Mercury's, and each man tossed one of his own, blanketing the sky in darkness. The mercenaries all then flipped on their infra-red goggles as they advanced through the smoke.

All of the 3,000 BM-21's were once again called in to punish the enemy for the airstrike. Millions of rockets were aimed at the front of the withdrawing Aequatians. The FRAG, HE, Thermobaric, and now airburst rockets were sure to do immense damage as the enemy would move into the rockets field as they withdrew. Each of the Mongoose 165mm and G7 105mm guns were aimed at the enemy cyclones, and began pumping. About 30 of the G7's targetted the retreating men and once again loosed CK tipped munitions at their enemy.

Behind the army, the air assault group was in bound, flying high to avoid ground fire. Their new mission was no longer to clear an air path for the bombers. Instead, it was to precision bomb the enemy forces. Each Gnat held 2 laser guided 500 lb bombs, and each F-4 held dozens of the same munitions.

Hovering overhead, waiting for the all clear, were the sleek forms of the AV-18's.

OOC: Wait a minute, I have a few problems with that last post.

Using smoke and NVG, you have effectively blinded your own army. Night vision only amplifies the low level of light that is available at night. By blocking any light that would allow my forces to see normally, you have also blocked the light you would see and have done nothing but given my forces the chance to escape while your soldiers stumble around in the smoke, lost or firing at their own people when they get spooked and see another soldier or vehicle.

As for your air group, first they are launched with the intent to "clear the way" for the bombers and were armed with air-to-air weaponry and now that you don't wish to do that, they have switched to ground pounding roles and now have LGBs. As well, with the use of smoke on the field (from your own forces and from burning vehicles) it would obscure any chance of effectively guiding the weapons onto their targets. Your pilots would not know where the lines are and be just as likely to drop the 500-pound bombs on your own people than my own forces.

OOC: I meant Infra-red, sorry, I have to edit that. The Gnats wont be carrying any bombs, but the F-4's can carry both. About the smoke, I had planned on not even hitting you and bombing my own men cause of the smoke and ineffective leadership.

OOC: Okay. I know the Phantoms did that a lot in Vietnam.

IC:

With most of the infantry and personnel that would have been exposed to the CK gas as it exploded from the shells were already withdrawn from the area, chemical agent detectors mounted on the vehicles flashed before dying out, leaving almost no casualties with all of the infantry in the vicinity remaining under armour. The rockets on the other hand poured from the sky and pounded the earth as the armoured vehicles and tanks took their chances driving through, some being struck and exploding while others were scarred by near misses and nearby explosions. Lieutenant-Colonel Rocke looked at the monitor that was connected to his own thermal viewer as he watched a number of the enemy infantry and vehicles move around on his right side (assuming you were moving on your left flank) and called for the Vipers to focus their fire on the avenue of approach of the enemy tanks and armoured vehicles.

"Roger that, Ripper Six, Viper Two rolling in hot!" Came the reply as many of the helicopters shifted over and focussed their fire on the lead enemy forces. A squadron of sixteen MH-20 Shadowcat helicopters arrived, weapons mounted on their stubby wings as they poured 70mm rockets and 23mm rotary-cannon fire into the advancing forces.

Higher above, the sixty BA-74 Arrow bombers streaked in low with their wings swept back like the first aircraft as they released their cluster bombs which in turn released 57,600 shaped-charge submunitions onto the infantry advancing on the right flank as they also opened fire with their 35mm rotary cannons, firing short bursts of rounds as they passed over the enemy tanks and armoured vehicles, firing at the weaker top armour and the infantry surrounding them.

The sixty F-1C Banshee fighters moved in far above the ground-pounders, guided in by AWACS aircraft, the Gnats were the first targets as each F-1C let loose a pair of AIM-154G missiles, first guided in by radar until their own lidar systems locked onto a target and geared for them. The 120 weapons cut across the sky as their SCRAMJET engines engaged, pushing them to a blinding Mach 18. The Banshees then increased their throttles to light their afterburners as they fired off six AIM-120C AMRAAM missiles against the Gnats, guided in the same fashion as their larger AIM-154 brothers. With that many weapons, the fighters closed in on the enemy aircraft, seeking revenge for their lost comrades on the ground.

The third wave of sixty BA-74 Arrow aircraft with the escorting force of sixty EF-2B Baal ECM fighters moved past the Northern edge of the city as they turned and set their course for the enemy lines.

The Gnats, all knowing that they were doomed, fired of both AMRAAM's they each had at the enemy planes and ejected. As they were going down, the F-4's remained airborne and began their pass over the main Griffincrest formation. "We really need new planes" one of the pilots thought as the Gnats were bumped off his radar screen.

As they came over the formation, the ground was now black with smoke. "We have reports of a massive flanking manuever, no word from the ground, assume hostile" came over the radio of the jets. "Roger"

Soon, dozens of 500 lb bombs were raining down upon the mercenaries, who were already scrambling for cover. Nearly a thousand men lay broken on the ground after the combined cluster bombs and 500 lb bombs.

Admiral Ironclaw was sitting in his war room aboard the Kraken as the hundreds of frantic calls came in for anti-air. Then he heard the news of the succesful bomb drop, followed by further pleas for anti-air. "FUCKING IDIOTS" he raged, tossing over a table and sending papers all around the room. "They bombed their own men. IDIOTS!!" He soon regained himself, and wired back to the main Griffincrest command. An order for 200 SA-11's was sent, and they would be in TWSP soon.

On the ground, the flank was considerably slowed down after the dual bomb runs. The main body, however, continued pouring over TWSP soil as they chased the Aequatian forces. Artillery fire was unending, aiming at the farthest Aequatian position so that in would likely hit their middle. The dark smoke continued floating over the battle field, and the lead elements of the mercenary force fired randomly at anything ahead of their front with a heat signature.

Then a radio intercept, from task force 3...
Greetings, Coroprate Alliance members!
This is Lt. Paul Vandergrift, commanding officer of the Hurtian Navy Provisional Warfleet Number One. Would you be so kind as to inform me about current events at the front and your exact locations so that I may better be of servic in the war raging in the Soviet Party's lands?

We have over 21 million troops awaiting your response.

"K, so I've got an insane subordinate who thinks he controls the whole fleet... and is fratranising with the enemy. Private Riggs, remind me to shoot him..."

Meanwhile....
Vandergrift's plan still went ahead, with not a single shot being fired, they pulled the first wave of hovercraft to the beach, while planes and helicopters flew fast and low as men on the ground took snapshots of the elegance of their "war".

Each hovercraft could only carry a battalion of men at a time.

The F-1C Banshee fighters, being ahead of the other aircraft, bore the brunt of the enemy AIM-120 weapons as they pulled evasive maneuvers and releasing their countermeasures. Only a dozen of the fighters were downed by the enemy missiles, with many of the pilots themselves ejecting down towards the earth. The surviving forty eight aircraft locked onto the F-4 Phantoms with their first four AIM-132B ASRAAM missiles, sending 192 infrared-guided missiles towards the enemy fighters before they dropped their external fuel tanks and closing to cannon range and engaging the enemy aircraft with their M85 23mm rotary cannons.

The third wave of sixty BA-74 Arrow bombers moved in low as they strafed the enemy attack column with their 35mm cannons before releasing four large bombs each. The 240 weapons fell towards the ground, slowed by parachutes before airbursting and releasing massive clouds of vaporized Propylene oxide which fell upon the enemy soldiers, weapons which failed to ignite in violent explosions, engulfing the area in flames and a massive concussion, choked the area with its particles as they affected exposed infantry and coated vehicles and the earth.

The EF-2B Baal electronic countermeasures tactical aircraft turned on their afterburners and jammers as they passed over the enemy lines and closed on positions plotted by the Aequatian counterbattery radar operators, who had predicted the advancing mercenary artillery units in their continued barrages. The nimble fighters jetted through the air as they approached the enemy BM-21 multiple rocket launchers and their massive supply trains before each releasing four CBU-120 cluster bombs and raining 28,800 shaped-charge submunitions onto the 3,000 soft-skinned launchers and supply vehicles on the ground.

As hundreds more men burned on the ground, and fighters smashed their countermeasures, another message was sent to TWSP. You claim you want no more bloodshed, yet you reject or terms. Why?

Tanks and other vehicles littered the burning forest. Still, there were many, many more men. Artillery continued to shower the Aequatian forces. Humvees shot ahead of the lines, then stopped, firing over 100 TOW missiles, and pulled away. They were targeting mainly the Cyclones, so that the AV-18's could move in. Infantry stumbled over their dead as they continued chasing the withdrawing enemy.

On the flank, things began moving again, and the first of the Mercury's opened up with their 30mm AP rounds, and the Leopards joined in the calamity with their own 120mm guns, pounding the enemies flank, while hundreds of mortars rained down from both positions.

In the sky, the four F-4's were desperatly trying to evade the mass of ordnance, to little avail. They all fired off the last of their munitions, 4 IRIS-T missiles each, then ejected. One of the pilots wasn't fast enough, however, and died in his plane.

Rocke's gunner fired the last round for the main gun and opened fire with the coaxial 12.7mm heavy machinegun on the advancing infantry while the driver, under instruction from the colonel, moved the tank into a position that would drive it right through the minefields laid for defending th city and throgh the lines of the 2nd Infantry Division, as they waited for the advancing enemy. The entire 1st Infantry Division's maneuver units had been reduced to nearly thirty percent of its original strength in the onslaught and many were relieved to hear they would no longer be on the line as they moved for the heavy defensive positions dug in around Red City.

The combined might of the 1st and 2nd Divisions' Fire Arrow MLRS launchers opened with a salvo of the smaller, but more numerous, 130mm rockets which released their own rain of 115,200 shaped-charge submunitions onto the advancing infantry while the heavy Broadsword 203mm guns fired their own extended-range DPICM rounds on the enemy artillery units along their plotted avenues of approach, splashing down almost 144,000 of the submunitions against the mobile artillery units. The fist of the DIVARTY of both divisions was the 144 Sabre 155mm guns which raked the enemy lines with a sustained barrage of eighteen rounds per gun firing the high-capacity high-explosive rounds which airburst over the enemy infantry and vehicles, the 2,592 rounds showered the enemy lines while their mortar counterparts followed suit with 3,456 120mm high-explosive incindiary rounds, which exploded with both shrapnel and burning fragments of white phosphorus.

The first of the 1st Infantry Division's units began their run through the minefield's channels as the 2nd Infantry Division's M55 tanks, M4A2 Spartan combat vehicles, Cyclone air defence vehicles, and infantry protected somewhat more from chemical agents with the addition of heavy-duty tarpes drapped over their positions. Thousands of G65, G4A1 and G6A1 rifles, MG55A3, MG76A1, MG85 and M2C1 machineguns watched the lines as others were armed with M7A1, FGM-148D and M21 launchers prepared themselves for the enemy vehicles. Farther back, the three squadrons of AH-72 Viper gunship helicopters waited for the approach with their weapons ready.

At the airbase, a hundred and twenty F-2A Abbadon fighters were quickly being fitted with weapons for ground attack missions along with their normal compliment of air-to-air missiles while sixty B-12A Vanquisher heavy bombers were also loaded with numerous weapons. The first of the sixty BA-74 Arrow bombers touched down on the arrival tarmac as they taxied into positions to rearm for additional strike missions.

A new flight group of Thunderbolts were being prepared on the flight deck. This flight group had roughly 20 aircraft and had orders to assault the Maldorian forces in Northern TWSP. As they all got into the air, they hit the deck, flying foughly 15 foot above the water, well below the radar level for any known radar dish. They headed towards the southwest to bypass the griffencrest naval fleet and to hit the Maldorian forces from an angle in which they wouldn't expect aircraft to come from.

SCENE: 2nd Flight Group of Thunderbolts
This flight group was keeping their eyes open for any aircraft comming in as they passed into the territorial waters of TWSP. Within a few minutes they would be bearing down upon the Maldorian naval fleet. The missile pods on the Thunderbolts were armed and two torpedo's were mounted to the underside of each wing, they would launch the torpedo's and then fire missiles at the hull of the ships.

It would take a few minutes to reach the Maldorian fleet though, so they waited...

All 3,000 BM-21's turned to target the Galmirian forces. Millions of rockets spewed out onto the camp. Thermobaric, FRAG, HE, and CK filled rockets all poured down on the camp. SCENE: 2nd Flight Group of Thunderbolts
The Thunderbolts began to pick up the Maldorians naval vessels on their active radar and saw them as little dots off in the distance. They dropped the safteys off of their weapons and flipped up the cover on the trigger on their sticks. As the distance ticker was counting down to the minimal safe distance to fire at the ships, they stared ahead of them and watched the dots get closer. A short text message was sent between thunderbolts telling them to target five of the ships, so there were three Thunderbolt's to each ship.

As they passed the minimal safe distance, each of the Thunderbolt pilots pulled their trigger and their torpedo's dropped into the waters and sped off towards the Maldorians naval vessels. They then switched weapons and fired off four missiles from each Thunderbird to each of the five vessels. A total of 6 torpedo's and 12 missiles were heading straight towards the naval vessels of the Nation of Maldorians.

Just as fast as they launched their weapons, they turned around and headed back to base, making the Maldorians unaware of the attack until it was too late...

Those ships that werent hit began firing their Anti-Air guns. 5 more crusier escorts opened fire on the thunderbolts.

Sarcastic OOC:
I love it when Newbs call each other noobs, which then makes them noblets by default.

TWSP, Northeastern beechfront, closest to St. John Du Caen
2nd Wave
Alreday, roughly 2 brigades of Mechanized Army troops landed ashore, those of the first wave, as promised, were busy taking photoes of the 2nd wave, which posed a number of potriotic action shots. Occasionally a few rounds were fired to give an added effect.

A few visably high ranking officers could be seen looking for Corprate forces in order to find points most suitable for their 'action'.

The entire 'invasion' looked as phony as one would appear in a hollywood studio. Many troops even pretended to be casualties in some photoes and then stripped off the bandages and did an action shot, followed shortly after by a mid-morning brunch on the beech.

Task Force One
"What in the world are those guys doing?" asked Admiral Kovaks.

"I believe they are advancing on the enemy, sir..."

"Then why are those 3 people sitting down for brunch?!?!"

Task Force Three
Vandergrift:
"Deploy the combat ships to the rear, inform the subs to lay protective minefield pattern 5, make sure no more CA reinforcements make it to this beech, fire only when necessary, and under no circumstance are you to provide aid to the enemy"

"Aye sir."

Task Force One
"Now what?"

"I belive the gunships are heading back out to sea..."

"He's up to something..."

*Meanwhile, a large motor launch approached*
"Ahoy!"

"What news do you bring us?"

"New orders, all ships not carrying necessary invasion cargo are to head out to sea in order to quarintine the beechead"

"Now you are starting to talk sense! Order our subs to deploy minefield pattern 2, 200 miles from shore, that should give our men some breathing room."

"It's already been done sir..."

"What, under whose authority!"

"Vandergrift's, sir; he has assumed command of the entire fleet, and since then we haven't been shot at and we already have our first units well emplaced on the beechead with almost zero casualties."

"Almost...?"

"One bumped his head getting up in the morning; another tripped on some coffee, and scalded himself with, uh, coffee; and another tripped on his shoelaces while getting off the hovercraft and was trampled to death, he's being used as a prop now."

"Excellent, send an uncoded open band transmission stating our casulties and their last mission, especially that guy being used as a prop, what is he being used as now?"

"You, at parade rest... they are using it as target practice as we speak..."

"List him as a target backstop trampled to death."

"Aye, sir trampled target backstop"

IC: The Griffincrest fleet, which massivly outnumbered the Aushan one, sent out its six Lord Class battleships, four of the Chieftains, and the flagship, the Kraken, to engage the Aushans. They have just now thrown away an entire army.

Airspace surrounding TWSP was almost all owned by the GAF (Griffincrest Air Force). Routes from the South and West can be stopped by GAF bases in Blainesville. Flights from the South or East could be shot down by flights outof Beiraq. Flights from the North would have to pass over CA territory. Aushan forces would never make it to TWSP.

Tension snapped. A Griffimcrest fleet in suppport of their RFF allies, decided to make the first move. A Kraken class dreadnought lead the pack, along with 20 Chieftain Class battleships, 40 Um al Maradim fast attack ships, and 10 Sovremenney class destroyers. The fleet steamed ahead of the rest of the CA forces. Dozens of Predator drones and Seaking helicopters surrounded the fleet watching out for enemy submarines. They made a huge ring around the fleet, and would detect the subs before they got in range.

The Rustovian artillery was now going to be the next victim on Griffincrest guns. The 500 G7 105mm howitzers targeted the Rustovian guns. within minutes, hundreds of howitzers began raining shells down on the enemy not all that far from them. Using mainly HE shells, a few shells still contained CK, for that horrible "Fuck I'm going to die" effect on the Rustovians who survived. Seeing a man blown apart is one thing. The Thunderbolts were refueleed and sped back towards the ships belonging to The Maldorians. This time they were prepared for anything that the Maldorians were to throw at them. As the ships skimmed even closer to the water, you could see waves form from the engine exaust that was being pumped out out of aircraft. The aircraft were scattered farther apart to make it harder for the Maldorians Tripple A to take them out. The Dark Empire would make this one hell of a hard time for the Maldorians fighting in the region.

As they passed the point in which they had to turn off their radio contact, they began the prelaunch sequence for their weaponry. Unlocking the safteys to ensure that the launch would be quick. There were 24 aircraft in this flight group, which would mean that they would be able to target 12 of the Maldorians ships.

The benefit of using Towed artillery was that it could be towed quickly. About 10 G7's were still lost, but most were able to be moved as the missiles came down.

The BM-21's now followed the missile path. 3,000 BM-21's, each capable of launching over 36 rockets a minute, began raining down on the area. The rain would cover roughly 1.5 kilometers, ensuring that even if they enemy launchers did move, they would not be able to get out of the massive missile blanket.

Numerous SA-11's were also now arriving, and setting up to defend the mercenaries from the Aequatian bombers.

SCENE: Thunderbolt Flight Group
As soon as the Thunderbolts saw the outlines of their targets in the distance, as well as smoke from the ships that they damaged earlier, they placed their finger on the triggers of their joysticks. The advanced targeting system began it's locking sequence. Each of the pilots watched his/her hud to ensure that the targeting sequence was doing it's job. It would be more difficult for the Maldorians to notice the Thunderbolts as it was beginning to become dusk.

The lead thunderbolt adjusted his course just slightly so his weapons lined up directly with the bow of the ship. The Thunderbolts then passed the minimal safe distance for firing and fired off their first volley of missiles at the Maldorians ships. They kept doing straight at the ship and as soon as the missile pods were ready, they fired a second volley of missiles. They then turned sharply, their wings almost skimming the surface of the water and headed back towards the USS Shazbot. They would take a different course back so that they would pass into Russian Airspace and then back out to International Waters.

But first, the 35,000 Howitzers, rocket launchers, Heavy Mortars, etc. had to do their job.
At 0600 hours, the assault began, artillery started firing at the Griffincrest Lines (please consider the psychological power of seeing your lines turned to swiss cheese in a matter of seconds), the Armoured Forcesbegan their push, easily crushing the first lines of resistance, thousands of men jumped from their APCs, Tanks and IFVs and began a berserk attack on the enemy lines while Artilelry kept pounding the defenders, Tanks advanced blasting everything and everyone they found in their way.

The massive counter attack caught the mercenaries tottally off guard. The artillery, after saturating the Rustovian lines in fire, swung around to launch a massive counter-barrage against the TWSP forces, utilizing every gun they had.

Hundreds of men died in the sudden attack, as the center pulled back. As they left, thousands of Kriegzimmer made ATG-44 mines were layed about. About 300 yards of ground was turned into a massive minefield. Behind it, the tens of thousands of mortars and Javelins opened up, supported by hundreds of Leopard II's and Behemoth II's.

Overhead, the eight AV-18's unloaded 24 Ballista anti-tank missiles each, and then opened up with horrifying barrages from their chainguns. This would be a bloody, bloody battle. CA forces were yet to lose a battle. Would this turn the tide?

On the air, over 100 F-18s, 50 F-22s and 40 A-10 Thunberbolt IIs commenced their attack, the thunderbolts concentrated their fire on the ground, targeting large tanks with missiles and rockets while dropping Thermobarics and Napalm on the enemy infantry, the other fighters scrambled and engaged the enemy planes with their AMRAAMS.

As of today, your population is 567 million. Standard numbers for militaries are 2-3% for a good sized military, and 5% if you are intensely militaristic (like me :D). Now, that is usually for standing army. Since this is in your own nation, you could rally millions of your citizens to fight. However, they would be untrained, usually have fairly poor morale, and have to just get whatever crap you could scrape together in terms of equipment. How you are going to continue feeding and supplying these men is another issue.

Red City Airbase, Red City, TWSP

The sixty EF-2B Baal electronic warfare aircraft, upon their return to the Red City airbase, had been informed of the arrival of the SA-11 launchers and were ordered to engage them. The fighters maintained their jammers as they searched over the enemy lines for the launchers and their radar systems. The 120 F-2A Abbadon strike fighters took off from the airbase with another sixty EF-2B Baal ECM aircraft as they headed North towards the enemy lines, the sixty B-12A Vanquisher bombers waiting for their opportunity to take off from the tarmac.

----------

Phase Line 32, 32km North of Red City, TWSP

Lieutenant-Colonel Rocke jumped down from the turret of hus battle-worn tank and looked over the remains of the division as it streamed through the lines and assembled into their original company organizations, which were considerably weakened from the fighting, leaving only thirty percent of their original maneuver units remaining. The colonel walked over to one of the command bunkers and saluted one of the 2nd Division brigade commanders before walking over and receiving his unit's new orders before exiting the hurrying back to his tank. He walked over and spoke to his gunner, "Sergeant, what's going on?"

"This comes from the top, after brigade command was killed in one of the CK strikes, they want us to assemble for something special, but they wouldn't say," Replied the gunner as he handed a 125mm sabot round to the driver as he handed down into the turret to the loader.

"All right," He said as he picked up another sabot round and handed it to the sergeant, "I should have realized we weren't finished yet."

Rocke's original task force had been joined together into an ad hoc mechanized infantry battalion reinforced with a tank company thrown together with the brigade's surviving tanks, he was put in charge of the 1st Brigade and promoted to a full Colonel. In all, his force now consisted of 23 M55 tanks, 8 Cyclone air defence vehicles and 33 M4A2 Spartan vehicles plus infantry. He was shocked to hear that the division's entire anti-tank force was killed in the first chemical attacks, leaving many of the vehicles and weapons behind in the withdrawl, We'll get all of our boys and girls and bring them home, He thought as he climbed aboard his tank and led his force towards the new assembly area.

News of the Soviet counterattack North had reached them by the time they had met up with the other forces at the assembly area and a hasty attack was ordered with the Aequatian forces, which consisted of the 1st Infantry Division's assault brigade of its last maneuver units and the three maunever brigades of the Aequatian 1st Armoured Division, which had been brought up while the 2nd Infantry Division assembled their defensive line.

The order went out as the engineer vehicles moved forward with the protection of the coming artillery barrage and the brigade commanded by Rocke as the armoured vehicles used their heavy dozer blades to simply push the mines out of the way and detonate them harmlessly to the side as they punched holes in the minefields. Once the first channels had been cleared, Rocke ordered his tanks forward and the first M55 tanks rushed through the clear terrain, their engine governors removed, which allowed the quasiturbine engines to push the vehicles to almost 75km/h as they kicked up the dark earth behind them. The Spartans followed close behind as the third wave of BA-74 Arrow bombers, already having released their weapons, straffed the enemy lines with their 35mm rotary cannons ahead of the Aequatian tanks.

In all, three division's worth of artillery came to life as they spat their fire onto the mercenaries. The 216 Sabre 155mm guns opened fire on the mercenary lines with 2,592 high-capacity high-explosive rounds. The 72 Broadsword 203mm guns fired twelve DPICM rounds each and Fire Arrow MLRS launchers armed with twelve 250mm rockets opened fire on the enemy artillery positions, as detected by the counterbattery radar systems after opening fire on the Soviet advance. 561,600 shaped-charge submunitions rained down on the various Griffincrest BM-21 launchers, G7 and Mongoose mobile guns and mortars that were already firing on the allied advance.

IC: The Griffincrest forces pulled back to a previously set up defensive position about two miles back. Massive rocket and artillery barrages continued to rain down, as the forces went blow for blow with each other. Over 10,000 mines were spread over that two mile area. Chainsaws, left over from former victories, were set up all along the line. Soviet forces would soon have a taste of their own medicine.

The SA-11's, now somewhat blind from the enemy ECM planes, continues firing up, hoping to hit something with well aimed shots, and the AV-18's shot up to their service ceiling in an attempt to engage Aequatian bombers with chainguns and rockets.

IC:

Although their effectiveness had been cut down by the attacks on the radar suites, the SA-11 launch vehicles' own radar systems would doom them to the surviving EF-2B Baal aircraft as a dozen aircraft were licked from the sky with the weapons, as they were able to burn through the jamming. Using the enemy radar trackers as guidance, each of the Baal aircraft launched their compliment of AGM-88H Super HARM high-speed anti-radiation missiles, each weapon riding a separate radio frequency down to the launch vehicles housing them. The aircraft then darted through the sky as they were guided in by air controllers to the enemy AV-18 aircraft attempting to engage the BA-74 Arrows supporting the ground assault, each of the modified twin-seat fighters letting loose their pairs of ASRAAM infrared-guided missiles before turning back towards the airbase.

Although the BA-74 Arrows had released their ordinance and were lighter, they were still the size of heavy fighters and had difficulty in avoiding the enemy fire from the AV_18 aircraft, twenty of the heavy bombers met their ends to the enemy cannon and rocket fire as many ejected to the battlefield below, allowing their striken aircraft to streak towards the ground and the enemy lines. As the airbattle raged, the multirole hundred and twenty F-2A Abbadon fighters released their four equipped laser-guided 450kg bombs towards the enemy lines, painting targets such as infantry and vehicle concentrations and any remaining Behemoth II heavy tanks. The 480 weapons cut through the air as they plummited towards the enemy forces. Having released their ground attack munitions, they moved to engage the enemy AV-18 aircraft with their AIM-120C AMRAAM weapons, each aircraft firing a pair of the weapons as they closed range with the aircraft. The second group of sixty EF-2B Baal tactical aircraft screamed in low over the battlefield as they hunted for the surviving SA-11 vehicles.

Colonel Rocke clenched his teeth as his helmetted head hit the inner rim of his turret hatch as he trid to look through one of the forward vision blocks at the advancing vehicles under his command. The earth was ripped apart as the Griffincrest artillery rockets and shells landed, scarring vehicles with burns and exploding a few of the lighter M4A2 vehicles. A mercenary Leopard II came into view on his monitor as he spoke into the tank's intercom, "Gunner, Lepoard II, designate!"

"Roger," The sergeant called out as the gun jolted back with a roar, "On the way! Load sabot!" The round flew through the air as the sabot tiself peeled away and fell to the ground as the Tungsten Carbide-Cobalt long-rod penetrator sliced through the air as it streaked in towards the Leopard II tank.

The loader stamped his foot down on the floor pedal as the electric door slid open and allowed the young private to grab one of the sabot rounds and slam it home in the breech of the gun, "Sabot, up!" The gunner fired again at another target as the force advanced, the entire 1st Armoured Division behind their brigade.

OOC: I was just clearing up for TWSP, he said he lost infantry to them.

IC: A dozen of the SA-11's were destroyed by the anti-radiation missiles, and the AV-18's were struck from the sky after they fired off their rockets. Still, the mass of now 188 SA-11's launching two of their four missiles each filled the sky with SAM's. With the massive amounts weaponry in the sky, Aequatian planes would have to be taking damage.

Massive casualties were being reported all along the mercenary defenseive lines. Over two dozen more Behemoth II's were torn apart, another ten disabled. Many of the mercenaries were having trouble working the chainsaws, but when they did, there was hell to pay for the enemy, as all three gattling guns simultaneusly opened up from each chainsaw position.

Admiral Ironclaw noticed a southern breeze. He radioed over to a co-ordinator on the front to see if he was having the same south blowing breeze. Indeed, he was. They both got the same idea at the same time. Corromis, Lewisite, and Cyanogen Chloride were all loaded into hundreds of mortars, and the shells rained down on the enemy, mostly the million soviet soldiers that were bearing down on them.

Artillery was constantly raining thousands and thousands of HE and Thermobaric rockets and shells upon their enemy. The forest was now a twisted wasteland, and would only get worse.

Fifty more AV-18's were ordered up to support the mercenaries, and 25 F-4 Phantom II's were ordered to the front to bomb the enemy forces, along with 100 Hong-5 bombers, eager to see action.

Aboard the Kraken, Admiral Ironclaw sent out a request to all allied forces to make a massive push towards Red City, to support Griffincrest forces against the Soviet/Aequatian counter attack. Ironclaw hoped this would serve as a Battle of the Bulge, having this be the last possibility to stop the invaders.

IC:

As the armoured forces were travelling light, meaning it as only their combat vehicles which raced forward in the counter-attack, their infantry were all protected from the enemy chemical agents which would have wrecked havock on exposed troops. The vehicles were not so protected against their share of enemy artillery, which was now finally split between the Aequatian spearhead and the Soviet lines, several lighter vehicles were destroyed in the fighting while others suffered from mobility damage, tracks blown off or tires shredded. No matter the damage, however, as the Aequatian vehicles continued to persue their enemy, firing on the move with 125mm shells from the M55s and 35mm automatic rounds from the M4A2s, although some did take the opportunity to halt and fire their BGM-210 ATGMs in against heavier targets.

The field artillery battalions consisting of the tri-divisional Sabre 155mm self-propelled guns, Centurion LAV-bound 120mm automatic mortars were the first artillery units to catch up with advancing forces and provide fire support with a quick barrage of twelve rounds each of 155mm HCHE shells, 2,592 in total, and almost twenty rounds each for the 120mm mortars, 5,184 HCHE rounds total. The Fire Arrow MLRS vehicles, carrying the lighter 130mm rockets, caught up as well and let loose their sixteen rockets each in a roaring salvo before rearming and moving on with the other units, each rocket releasing its 120 cluster munitions on the enemy forces, 138,240 of the shaped-charge submunitions rained down on the enemy forces as the rockets burst in the air.

Nearly all of the BA-74 aircraft that had remained over the battlefield of the third wave had been removed from the sky in the barrage of SA-11 missiles, with only eight returning to the airbase. Twelve of the fresh EF-2B Baal aircraft were swatted from the sky as the other forty eight targetted the launcher vehicles which exposed themselves when firing, each aircraft firing a pair of AGM-88H Super HARMs against the vehicles. As insult to injury, the EF-2Bs moved in low on the SA-11 TTELs and dropped CBU-120 cluster bombs, releasing 11,520 shaped-charge submunitions over the launcher units and their surrounding support units.

With the immediate air threat removed, the surviving ninty six F-2A Abbadon fighters (twenty four having been downed by the SA-11 SAMs), were redirected North by the AWACS aircraft past the enemy lines to intercept the enemy aircraft which were now inbound, the single-engine fighters sped off as they tracked the enemy AV-18 and F-4 attack fighters. Although having already taken part in fierce fighting, they were ready for more with each aircraft having a load of two AIM-132B ASRAAMs and a full load of 23mm rounds for the M85 Vulcan cannon.

At the airbase, another hundred and twenty F-1C Banshee tactical fighters were fitted with AIM-154G Super Comet long-range missiles, AIM-120C AMRAAMs and the usual AIM-132B ASRAAM missiles as they were prepared to intercept the enemy Hong-5 bombers that were being tracked by both AWACS and satellites. As they were being prepared, the sixty B-12A Vanquisher bombers lifted off the runways and moved North towards the advancing lines in order to inflict as much damage on the now-retreating mercenary army.

On the ground, Infantry had a toguh time advancing, the tanks were taking most of the hits from the Chainsaws, but some bullets still made it past them and into the APCs. Thus, the Benemoth IIIs were tasked to destroy the Chainsaws, which they started to do with their Dual 300mm Cannons.

The Benemoths fired their Stinger at the enemy aircraft, more than 300 Missiles lit the sky ans they went for their targets.
However, this didnt prevent the B IIIs from getting damage, over 5 of them were destroyed, and 2 damaged heavily.

The Navy wasn't expecting any type of assault. Suddenly, torpedos and missles tore into the hulls of 3 battleships, and 2 broadside cruisers. Men were jumping overboard as if they were stuffed dolls. Ship parts flew everywhere as it hit a seaman on another ship and knocked him unconsious. Then they sprung back into action. Those ships that werent hit began firing their Anti-Air guns. 5 more crusier escorts opened fire on the thunderbolts.

"this is Admiral Vaal to General Doa. There are reports of thunderbolts that attacked our fleet. They will be heading your way. Whip out your Anti air and do something about it."

I posted twice about those mines, and (though not expected of you) the Commander of Task Force 3 has a habit of dropping mines discreatly.

The funniest thing about this landing: is that this is what the Alidor landing would have looked like had they not shot at me and then declared war (plus they put twice as many boats as I had in between me and the coast).

And I was helping them.

Undershi Forward Positions, Just Behind Joint Undershi-Blackhelm Confederacy Lines

IIS Corporal Samuel Theisman sat atop the burned-out wreak of a Drake MBT, destroyed during the most recent advance, and lit a cigarette. It had been a fierce fight, as such fights were - as they always were when the Undershis were invading some other power, were taking away their homes...
As he sat, lost in thought, a collumn of more Undershi AFVs rolled by, the brutal industrial aesthetic of the Undershis done up in black that still shone. These AFVs were fresh from the factories, unmarked by enemy fire... the men who drove them were not. They had been hurt, in those last few battles. They had been hurt badly, lossing sixteen of the Drakes and twenty four of the lighter Viper IFVs... and, more painfully, 397 True Undershis... 397 Undershis of the IIS Storm Troopers. As that thought entered his mind, Theisman angrily cursed and threw away the cigerette, wishing for something more potent to take away the memories of fire and death and screaming TWSP soldiers, fighting for their homes and their lives and that socio-political system they held so dear... they were only norms, but somehow they seemed more real to him than his own men did in their battle armour.
It was odd, and he knew it - if he ever voiced such a sentiment, then the Security portion of the IIS would be paying him a visit, more likely than not... but he still felt it.

OOC: Well, that's an overly dramatic way of listing casualties... as mentioned before, the Undershis have lost 16 Drake MBTs, 24 Viper IFVs and 397 True Undershis in the fighting along the front.

OOC: Thanks Aequatio. I meant I was the invaders, your counter attack would either make or break the war, as the Americans were the invaders and had they lost the Bulge, it would have been a different war.

IC: The GSF mercenaries were now well dug in. The two dozen captured chainsaws from the beach, St. John, Gustavich, and the airbase were now all spewing out lead like their was no tommorow. Each weapon spat out 18,000 RPM (according to TWSP). Two dozen of these pieces put down truly overwhelming fire alone. Now factor in almost 500,000 men, all firing RPK's, M60's, G36E's, or Javelins, and they fire was even more brutal.

That was not the only thing to be worried about. Mercury's spat out hundreds of 30mm AP rounds every minute, and shell after shell flew from the Behemoth's and Leopards.

The artillery attacks tossed dirt and bodies into the air. Mens broken, twisted bodies covered the earth. Still, thousands of shells and millions of rockets were fired back at the enemy, as SA-11 crew struggled to reactivate their vehicles.

Colonel Rocke's tank shook as a 120mm HEAT round landed short of his tank and it plowed through the crater and continued forward as many of the 1st Brigade, 1st Armoured Division M55 tanks and M4A2 Spartan vehicles moved forward and fired on the move. The large 220mm rounds pounded the earth and kicked up large armounts of the dirt which almost swallowed smaller vehicles while the 120mm rounds from the Leopard II tanks struck vehicles, mostly blowing off tracks on the M55 tanks while disabling many of the M4A2 Spartans. The M55s returned fire, focussing on the Leopard tanks while the Spartans swept the enemy IFVs with their 35mm automatic cannons, while a few would halt momentarily to release and guide in their BGM-210 Spike ATGM. The constant stream of 7.62mm rounds from the Chainsaw mountings did little more than ping off the armoured vehicles, which would have been much more devastating against a lighter force. Although the lead assault brigade had been reduced to almost sixty percent of its original numbers, they kept up the momentum of the attack, helping the first units of the 1st Armoured Division push against the heart of the mercenary lines.

It was then that the artillery shifted its firing, while the 155mm guns of the Sabres continued to fire on the enemy lines, they switched to the use of DPICM rounds and splashed 311,040 of the shaped-charge submunitions over the enemy lines, mainly focussed on the enemy infantry and lighter vehicle concentrations. The 120mm automatic mortars continued their supplimental barrages, raining 5,184 120mm high-capacity high-explosive rounds down on top of the corporate soldiers. The Fire Arrow MLRS vehicles and Broadsword 203mm guns shifted their fire towards the enemy artillery, the 250mm rockets releasing 288,000 of the dreaded submunitions over the enemy artillery units while the Broadswords changed to their 203mm SADARM rounds that were guided, by the ground-search radar suites of the surrounding AWACS aircraft and drones, in towards the specific enemy artillery vehicles. The 576 large 203mm shells split open to release a pair of the warheads which drifted down with parachutes until their detonated, launching their explosively-formed penetrators towards the weaker roof armour of the mobile artillery.*

The forty eight EF-2B Baal aircraft remained over the area with their jammers activated as the hundred and twenty F-1C Banshee fighters passed through the "invisible" corridor through the mercenary radar screens as they moved North to intercept the slower Hong-5 bombers as they made their own way South. The ninty F-2A Abbadon air superiority fighters were already ahead as they detected the incoming AV-18 and F-4 aircraft and each aircraft launched their pair of AIM-132B ASRAAM infrared-guided missiles before moving to cannon range.

While the fighters darted about the battlefield and went after the enemy aircraft, the sixty heavy B-12A Vanquisher bombers, their wings swept back and electronic countermeasures suites engaged, came in low on the enemy positions and released their first payloads of 480 CBU-300 cluster bombs, which threw almost 144,000 of the shaped-charge submunitions over the enemy lines as they roared over their heads and turned around to make additional strikes on the enemy forces.

At the airbase, a massive wave of a hundred and twenty BA-74 Arrow light bombers were being prepared for a strike mission along with another hundred and twenty F-1C Banshee tactical fighters fitted with strike weapons and sixty F-2A Abbadon fighters as air combat escorts. The ground crews, although fatigued in their work, still proceeded with fury as news of the counterattack reached them continually.

A simple, encoded message was sent to all of the allied forces within the areas.

Attention Allied Forces: This is Task-force Romeo, we have been dispatched by Reich High Command to help expel the CA presence within the area. Please relay information regarding the state of The Soviet's territorial waters to us, so we may either annihilate their naval assets or begin our landing

Over 500 miles above the Earths surface, in the lower reaches of the exosphere, the DT D-57 Exosphere Dive bombers (http://bellsouthpwp.net/t/h/thek/graphics/planes/SubOrbital.jpg) lazily drifted over their targets on the edge of space. The 50 proto-type unmanned D-57's positioned themselves above the Tocrowkian ships. Armed with 2 DAM-12's each, they prepared to dive on the surface targets. Several targeted the super-dreadnaught, and the rest targeted the bigger surface vessels. The remainder (about 5) stayed in the Exosphere, prepared to clean-up whatever might be left.

45 of the D-57's dipped down, gradually at first, but then faster and faster. Finally coming to within a degree of perpendicular to their targets, they rushed first throught the burning ionosphere, and then through the freezing mesosphere. 13 of the proto-types alloys failed to survive the extreme temerature changed and their cracked exteriors gave way to the pressures of the upper atmosphere, the mangled bodies falling, straying from the position of their targets. But the rest carried on, reaching terminal velocity.

They started up their engines as they neared the release point. Making final adjustments, they armed their missles. Appearing through the clouds, the pulled up and let their bombs go. As the bombs travaled at terminal velocity twoards the ships, 10 of the planes' control surfaces snapped, sending the planes spinning into the water, bouncing off the surface of the water untill slowing to a stop or hitting a ship. The remaining 22 made for safety where they could refuel and go home.

Captain of The Fleet Luther Smith watched the radar display as the massive fleet of Tocrowkian warships approached the CA fleets, huddled together off the coast of TWSP.
It looked like the Inteligence officers had been right - the Tocrowkian Reich had been serious about its intention to intervene... and so, it seemed as though the uneasy peace that had been in effect for so long in TWSP waters was about to be broken.
A short while ago, he had commented to one of his under-officers how he hated the waiting... now he wouldn't have to wait any more. The waiting was over - now the dieing would begin.
Standing to issue his final orders and command his vessel for the last time, he spoke:
"Communications, get me our escorts - the destroyers the Bismarck and the Napoleon, right? Well, get those ships ready to fight - soon enough we'll all be dead, and nothing will matter... nothing except for how many of the enemy we take with us. Scramble the Thunderers - we still have all 100 of them, right? Well, I want them in the air now - kit them out for heavy duty anti-shipping Attack Runs. We're gonna die... this ship, the carrier Descartes, is going to die... but we're going to take a few of the Tocrowkians with us." pausing for a moment, Captain of the Fleet Smith glanced at the bridge clock.
For a moment, he fancied that it measured the minutes left to his life. He managed to shake himself free of the melancholy, and turned to his crew once more, shouting:
"And I want it now! Move!" that said, he could feel the fatalism rising up within his body - he would die this day, he knew it, and nothing he could do would prevent that.

OOC: The Undershi carrier and its two escorts are deploying ECM drones, generally preparing for battle, and in the case of the carrier, getting as many of its fighter-bombers into the air as it can as fast as it can.

One of the managers, a lieutenant-colonel, watched as it replayed again, "They weren't ballistic missiles, otherwise we would have noticed them as they came into orbit. Undershi Advanced Forces, Main Line of Conflict

IIS Corporal Samuel Theisman ducked reflexively as he heard the sound of artillery... but it was only theirs. The Undershi forces, the 122nd IIS Storm Troopers, had just recieved word of what was transpiring in TWSP waters... and so, in light of that, some senior officer had decided that, rather than withdraw, the Undershis would launch one last suicidal death-and-glory attack against TWSP forces - they would make a breakthrough, or die trying... and that was the only point of that. The Blackhelms would move in later to exploit whatever gains the Undershi made, but whatever those gains were, they wouldn't matter for most of the 122nd Division... most likely, the greater majority of his comrades would be dead before the day was out.
But... he was an Undershi, so he would do his Duty. That was the purpose of his sad, pathetic, mutant life, wasn't it? To serve the Undershi State until it claimed dominion over all the earth?
Sighing at the sheer pointless-ness of it all, he watched as the first wave of Drake MBTs began to roll forward, cresting the hill... the Undershi artillery had been targeting TWSP positions on the other side of that hill with just about all the force they could muster... but it hadn't been enough. It was never enough - that was what the IIS Storm Troopers were for - charging unsilenced positions and dieing gloriously so that others could accomplish their cold, practical, missions.
As he waited his wave's turn for the charge, Samuel thought of the memories that made up his life... and realized that not one of them was marked with anything other than misery or violence. He remembered his early years, off in boarding boot camp, learning how to field-repair a Gauss rifle as he listened to the Mathematics Officer lecturing on Trigonometry... watching eight year old Heinrich die bloody and screaming during a ive-fire training excercise when he had accidentally fired... his nine year old self screaming in rage and weeping in horrified sorrow, then screaming in pain as the Sergeant-instructor flogged him... no, he would not miss his life. For an Undershi, life was pain.
That thought fresh in his mind, IIS Corporal Theisman actually smilled as the order was given for his wave of attackers to roll over the hill, into the nightmare of fire and death that he knew awaited over that hill, into that hell from which echoed back the sounds of Drakes and Vipers dieing and bursting into flame, the super-hot flames of their destruction cooking the Undershis within them even through their battle armour.
He was not afraid. Death would be... acceptable.

OOC: The Undershi forces in TWSP are launching a massive assault against TWSP lines along the front, spearheading a Blackhelm Confederacy offensive. (He can point out where I'm attacking).

I Corps Headquarters, Red City Airbase, Red City, TWSP

Lieutenant-General Justin Gorman examined the lines as the 3rd Infantry Division moved from its position at the airbase to its own position on the defensive line North of the capital while the 2nd Armoured Division prepared itself to move when reports came streaming in of the Undershi offensive, Shit, He thought as the general walked over to the signals officer who was receiving the messages, followed by his executive officer, Major-General Ozzy Stevens.

The XO spoke, "How sure are we that the Soviets can hold their lines while advancing against the Griffincrest forces while being attacked by the Undershi tanks and troops?"

"We're not, they may be defending their homeland and fellow comrades, but they seem to lack the general understanding of warfare," Gorman said as he removed his field cap, with three silder stars pinned in a triangle setup, to wipe his brow before placing the cap back on his head, "We're going to have to reinforce that line if we hope to keep this attack going. What can we move thee immediately?"

The major-general looked over a clipboard, "Sir, we could move the attack helicopter squadrons of the 2nd Armoured Division to reinforce their lines, plus we could move the rest of the division there as well."

The commander shook his head, "I don't like it, but we don't have a choice. The Soviets have already shown us that their lines can be broken, we cannot allow that to happen at such an important point. Get it done, I want those Vipers there to hold that line... At all cost."

First Lieutenant Gregor Hynes hopped off the rear passenger section of the cargo Ferret HMMWV as it stopped in front of their AH-72 Viper helicopter gunship, his aircraft's gunner, Sergeant Kyle Preston, was close behind as they hurried into their helicopter and started its engine. The entire squadron of the attack helicopters were called to hold the Soviet line after the Undershi forces launched an attack. Each helicopter carried the general-purpose weapons load, with eight AGM-114Q Hellfire III guided-missiles, thirty six 70mm rockets and a full load of 35mm rounds for their M125A4 automatic cannon. The group of choppers lifted off and sped for the Soviet lines, hoping to reach them before the Undershis inflicted a large amount of damage on their allies.

Unfortunately for both of the attacking powers, they plainly had no idea who or what they were messing with. The Dive Bombers, which had to have a massive IR signature due to their very nature of being extremely high-altitude aircraft, were easily tracked by the Tocrowkian Aerial Defense system on the Venator. Tactical High Energy Lasers and SAMs locked onto the rather pathetic show of 'force', and all fired in union. The pin-point laser system would work it's magic, as well as the SAMs that locked onto a single temperature, and ignored any temperatures that were lower or higher, such as flares would be. Any missiles that did make it through the gaunlet were surely going to be destroyed by the lasers before causing any damage.

And with that problem nicked, the rest of the Tocrowkian Navy unleashed a massive amount of firepower toward the incoming Aircraft carrier. The Venator fired a barrage of it's magnetic quintuple 760mm turrets, as well as a salvo of 360mm rounds. That was supported by a wave of VLS missiles from the Venator and the Missile Cruisers, as well as ten Sledgehammer-anti SD missiles, along with at least two dozen torpedo's from the attack submarines.

IIS Corporal Samuel Theisman winced as the Drake MBT to the left of the Viper he was riding in exploded in a massive fireball, its turret seeming to leap into the air... the IIS Storm Troopers had suffered before, that much was true and obvious.
But not like this... his thoughts were inturupted as a Viper to the left of his own vehicle was blasted into burning fragments. They were suffering... but they were advancing, and their own artillery was starting to tell, and they were within range of the enemy positions, so the Gauss cannons of their vehicles, the Gauss-autos mounted all about the vehicles... all were coming into play, and it looked like victory would be possible...
Then, a flight of helicopters was in the air, raining death down on the IIS... who responded with massive ammounts of AA Gauss-auto fire, supported by the one pair of SAMs carried by each Drake... here and there, Viper IFVs and Drake MBTs were blasted apart, but they maintained their attack, maintained their advance.
Already, the IIS infantry in its powered armour was deploying, rushing forward towards the TWSP positions, their grenade launchers and Gauss rifles and rockets adding to the sheer volume of fire directed at the TWSP units they faced.
It looked, for that moment at least, like the assault just might carry, just might break through to slaughter the TWSP unit that opposed them...

OOC: So far, the 122nd IIS Storm Trooper Division is fighting well, advancing in spite of the volume of fire that they are facing. So far, they have lost 24 Drake MBTs and 76 Viper IFVs... along with almost 1,000 men...

And Soviet, you can in no way support an army of 17 million, with 10,000 heavy artilley pieces, advanced machine guns, and an advanced airforce comprising of A-10's and B-2's on your budget.

IC: The Aequatian advance had been hugely devasting. Several hundred BM-21's were destroyed. Men lay about the field, bleeding and dying. The only thing the mercenaries hoped would be in their favor was that they massivly outnumbered the Aequatians. The mass of Soviet infantry would be dealt with easily. Hundreds of CK filled shells flew from mortars, while hundreds more flew from the surviving BM-21's. The southern blowing wind would only increase the effect, as the gas would blow over much of the million man Soviet military.

At sea, Admiral Ironclaw groaned as he recieved news of the Tocrowkian fleet pulling from port. He hoped to have the country before they arrived however. If he didn't, they would have many, many problems. GNF submarines and stealth ships, along with Um al Maradim fast attack ships were littered all over the path to TWSP. He wants you to approach his fleet, rather than teleport right into the thick of it.

So post your units pressence, he responds, then you use them, then he RPs his loss (hopefully) or points out an error of judgement. He then posts that his forces exist, then you respond to them existing, then he does something with them. etc..

It makes for a more impressive read as it forces you to RP people rather than actions in order to introduce yourself.

A good example is the Secret IC I madewith the messages bweing sent to vatious people. Nothing really happened yet, that is for after he acknowledges the initial action.

You've got to be kidding me. Fleets patrol international waters. It's what they DO. The United States always has carriers patrolling within a few hundred miles of potential trouble zones. Try and try again. :)

The fact that you didn't exist in the RP until now.

It is like spawning right behind a guy in a FPS with some uber weapon while he's fighting off some massive hordes of pawnage. Then slitting his throat with a knife so that you can run around claiming you are better than him because you managed to kill him with a knife.

If such behavior was tolerated, I'd most likely have asasinated 20 nation leaders in this RP and snuck out the back door by now.

So tap him on the shoulder first, then knife him...

Speaking of which, I have to go RP now, find the OOC thread and continue thinking over why you have to tell people you positively exist in the RP before doing anything if you have to, this is an IC thread.

I am not well informed on the situation in World Soviet Party, however, what I do know is that Blackhelm and your associates have invaded this nation.

Stop. Flee. Pack up your equipment go home. Your other option is to ignore my demand, and I will drive them out screaming and begging for mercy, for which there shall be none.

The choice is yours. Flee, or die. I do hope you see reason. I am far more powerful than I was before, and I assure you, you cannot stop me.

That is my Ultimatum to you.

The General sat at his desk, grinning as he waited for a response to his ultimatum. If the Corporate Alliance failed to agree to his terms, they would deeply regret it. In the time that Wanderjar had gone into seclusion, they had rewritten the doctrine of Wanderjarian Warfare. Unlike previously, they no longer would use the Blitzkrieg doctrine initially, but rather that would be phase two of operations. They would begin with massed bomb raids. But they would not use conventional bombs, of which the level of effect could be less than desirable. No, instead they would use E-Bombs, or Electromagnetic Bombs, which were impossible to stop. Nothing had yet been developed to counter such a weapon, not even the best of ECM teams would be able to fend it off. An entire nation would be wiped of power, all mechanized equipment rendered useless, and systems irrepairable. Then, the Wanderjarian Imperial Army would move in, and seize the unfortunate nation.

"Yes," He laughed, "They should fear us."

To: Blackhelm

From: General Johan Guiderian Supreme Leader of the Red Empire of Wanderjar

I see you are in a tight spot with the NS World. I will do all I can to redeem you, as long as you do everything that I say. You will issue a statement of apology to all nations of the world. Then, I will stand up and speak for you and try to curry favor, as it would be unheard of to hear your nations mortal enemy speaking to preserve you. You were a snake in the grass to the international scene. I want you to be my snake. If I can arrange for them to not utterly destroy you, you shall join the Commonwealth of German States. I will rebuild you. And in return, I want you to be my ever faithful ally, and never carry any operations which I do not favor.

If you will agree to these terms, then I shall try to save your life. Think about my most generous offer.

Guiderian sighed. He'd hoped to find a decent ally in Blackhelm. He was saddened that he'd been mistaken. In his response message, he said: "So be it."

The C-17s fell back, but were replaced by 2 B-3 Bombers. They flew high above the nation of Blackhelm, and prepared to drop the E-Bomb for the first time in Wanderjarian History. Once dropped, the entire nation of Blackhelm would be without power, their electronic equipment rendered useless and inoperable, and all tanks and other vehicles irrepairable. This was a show of force, to hopefully convince the Blackhelm Government that their best bet was to join with the Red Empire and the German Commonwealth.

The two bombers would hopefully not be spotted, but if they were, it would not matter. The detonation was known to still be effective at high altitudes, though the level of success went down significantly. The B-3s had enough stealth technology however that should allow for them to get close enough to drop their payloads anyway.

Those bombers would never even make it into Confederate airspace. AAD-1 anti aircraft balloons were spread all over the border of the Confederacy. A ballon picked up on the bombers as they entered its field of vision, still some some 20 miles out over international waters. The image was relayed back to ground command, and a single word was sent back. HOSTILE. The balloon automatically reacted, alerting four surrounding ballons to the incursion. Each of the now five balloons locked onto one of the two planes. Once a definite lock was achieved, each one launched a massive barrage at the intruders. Three AIM-57 Super Phoenix Missiles were launched from each, along with another six AIM-9X Sidewinders, making a total of forty-five missiles sent flying at the two bombers.

The pilots dropped their bombs, though three miles off shore. It would not matter, as the bombs had far larger ranges to effectively devestate the shore defense systems. Once the two bombs detonated, the EMP blast would sail in twenty miles, killing all electronic systems, and leaving the coast completely without power of any form. More bombers would come in under the cover of the darkness.

The two bombers were destroyed, and their pilots killed, but regardless, it was not in vain.

(OOC: Not a god mod, I watched about this on the military channel, and actually, I undersized it. The bombs which mine are based on can wipe out 100 miles worth of land, but that would be cheap and not fun, so I stretchted it down to about 25 mile range, about the size of a standard nuclear blasts EMP range.)
