The small exploratory battle fleet sat quietly over the planets surface. The small fleet consisted of

2 Galactic Intruder Battleship
1 Macage Hospital ship
and
1 Farpoint Exploratory vessel

The Admiral stood on the bridge watching the planet. The planet was about twice the size of Earth. And it was green with life.

"Uh, Sir?" The ensign in control of the sensors swiveled in his chair and looked at him.

"What is it?" The Admiral looked kept looking at the view screen.

"The sensors are picking up allot of plant life but there is almost no Fauna down there, Its strange." The ensign paused. "Ive done the sensor sweep twice, but the results are the same."

The Admiral thought for a moment, "Send down a RAT (Rapid Action Team) team, let them survey this world."

The Comm. Ensign nodded and started to relay the orders.

Within 2 hours 100 fully armed men started there decent in Drop ships.

The New Kirisuban exploration vessel moved gracefully into the system.

The INKS (Imperial New Kirisuban Spaceship) Kagemon was a small vessel with minimal weapons but very fast and agile.

(it looks like a flatter version of a Classic Star Trek Romulan bird of prey only its a steel grey colour)

Samurai-Captain Ari Fujimoto looked at the view screen at the system ahead of her. Her first officer Nomi Onazuka who also ran the science station sat at the sensors and raised a slender eyebrow.

"Samurai-Captain, We're picking up a large M rated planet on our scopes as well as four ships of unknown design and size. Orders?" she says.

"Helm cut speed to half sublight and adust to an intercept course. Comms hail them. Standard friendship greetings in English and any other forms we know.

Tactical maintain yellow alert"

She knew her orders would be obeyed and as she sat down in the command chair she adjusted her katana and waited as the Kagemon glides closer.

(OOC: this is an update of my existing NS nation thats based on a mix of feudal and modern japan. theres still a divine emperor and a samurai class.)

(IC knowledge : The Empire of Kirisubo is well known for its neutrality on Earth and its first planetery colony is no exception. As they have dominion status they are practically independant but still owe loyalty back home)

Exploratory Fleet II Gamma was traveling through space when they came upon a system. The fleet was not very large, consisting of one Command Frigate, one Carrier Frigate, two Viper Class corvettes, and two Beetle Class corvettes.

Fleet Admiral Munsell looked up at his view screen.

"Sir," the scan officer said, "Sensors detect medium size unknown planet, life sensors positive, and two fleets. One is landing what appear to be exploratory dropships."

"Take her in," Munsell said to the flight officer, "And do a more in-depth scan."

"Sir."

"Attention Exploratory Fleet II Gamma. This is Fleet Admiral Munsell. We are taking fleet in towards unknown I. Alert status will be at low guarded. Do not fire unless fired upon."

The fleet approached the planet to a distance just outside orbit. The Scan Officer ordered a comprehensive scan on the planet, "Sir. This is disturbing. There appears to be very little fauna on this planet. Should we investigate?"

"No. Hail the fleet which is landing men."

Message to the Neoman Exploratory Battle Fleet

"This is Fleet Admiral Munsell of the Texarian Exploratory Fleet II Gamma. We recently scanned this unknown planet and found disturbing news. We wish to work with you, if we may. And we request news from your explorers."

The Drop ships made a horrendous sound as they started to land.

The sound waking the horrible creatures that had been abandoned.

They were called the Ashen mostly unknown to this part of the galaxy.

In a deep dark cave the Ghouls started to wake, there was easily a couple thousand of them.

They all started to rush out of the cave toward the drop ships, bloodshed was the only thing they wanted.

The swarm of ghouls charged over the trees and shrub.

"Sir! Multiply star ships inbound unknown origins!" called the sensor ensign.

The Admiral looked puzzled.

"Sir, were receiving a hail."

The message was broad casted over the ships bridge.

"Send them this message"

The giant doors of the 15 drop ships lowered and the RAT team moved out, and secured the area, The air was breathable but it had a faint stench of something decaying.

The Lieutenant, was the last to leave the drop ship.

he looked at his men who were following procedure and setting up auto guns, and digging foxholes.

A metallic voice came from the machine "Sir, permission to scout the areas to the south?"

"Go ahead Delta 441. Take Delta 442 and 445 with you."

The metallic suit nodded slightly and walked off.

The lieutenant put a cigarette in his mouth and lit it.

"I want this F*cking defense up now!" His Sargent was walking around barking orders and kicking ass.

he walked back inside the Drop ship and picked up the comm. "Sir, Beachhead secure. Ive sent out Delta 441, 442 and 445 to begin recon. over"

the tactical officer speaks. "Captain, the lead ship is launching fighters" Private Teraza reports.

"Ready the shields but don't activate them yet. Comms, voice channel only to the lead ship in the formation ahead of us"

The female comms officer nods and the Kirisuban Captain says "this is Captain Ari Fujimoto of the New Kirisiban spacecraft Kagemon. We are peaceful explorers and wish your vessels no harm"

She stops and says to her comms officer who cuts the connection. "repeat this until they give an answer" Ari orders.

She turns to her pilot and says "set a course to take us behind the other ships if those fighters are hostile and jump to warp on my order. We can always return later"

she drums her fingers on the arms of her command chair ready for anything.

The Admiral sighed. Sen them this message.

"Sorry, but in the past Neoman ships were attacked un provoked by a ship that jumped close to us and didn't hail us. We lost allot of good men that day. Its standard procedure now.

"we're getting a reply Captain" the comms officer says and puts up the Admiral on the view screen.

Ari nods to her tactical officer and pilot who know what to do.

the ship sails up gracefully to the flagship as the Captain replies with the view screen on.

"We understand that. May we approach your vessel and discuss this face to face. We're also explorers and we may well be able to co-operate in the exploration of this planet"

(Ari Fujimoto is in her early 30's, is an oriental human with the classic long black hair, olive skin and dark eyes. she's dresses in black trousers, short boots and a dark red wrap round tunic. the visable bridge crew members (all female) are dressed like their captain the only difference being the badges and pips on the jacket.

the captain also has a katana stuck into a belt sash made of a gold cloth)

Message to Neoman Command Ship
This is Fleet Admiral Munsell.
Do we have confirmation of safe landing and secure landing zone, and if so, would you like me to send support troops to your location?

Fleet admiral Munsell looked at the two fleets, apparantly facing off and sighed. This may not look good...and we don't have the fleet capabilities for a full scale space battle... "Bryant!" he barked at the comms officer, "Get in contact with Armada II command. Send for Landing Backup Fleet II Zeta."

"Aye, sir!" Bryan confirmed.

the bumble the smallest space craft in the scouting party with a crew of only 100 soldiers only 5 commandos in full battle armor started to hail the fleets to show they are on a mission to make a colony on this planet

The Admiral Picked the comm.

"Sure we will open a landing dock for you. Also will send two fighters to escort you"

The Admiral set the Comm. back into its small compartment.

The Admiral turned to one of the ensigns. "Set up the meeting room, We are going to have a guest." The ensign ran off and he pulled a cigar from his front coat pocket and put it in his mouth. He lit it and puffed.

He picked up the comm. and dialed into the lieutenant on the ground.

"This is Jacob, your going to have a few guests coming down. Treat them fairly, you have command of ground forces."

"Yes sir," The comm. crackled as lieutenant hudson hung up the comm. Jacob turned and faced the bridge.

"Call back our fighters, there waisting tax payers money out there. Also send two of them to escort the Kagemon Commander to This ship."

captain krank hailing all fleets: we are going to set up a base if that is okay respond if you have any objections

Ari smiles slightly and replies "I look forward to meeting you Admiral. We'll follow your fighters in"

she thinks to her comms officer who cuts the transmission. Some New Kirisubans were able to practice limited telepathy and they usually ended up in the space service.

Ari and her comms officer Hoshi had the link and knew each other very well.

Ari looks to the pilot and says "match our escorts speed and lets meet the Admiral. Nomi you're with me"

she hits a comm panel on her command chair and says "Lt Commander Sakura you have command while we're gone"

a male voice comes back and Lt Cmr Toshiro Sakura, the Chief Engineer and 3rd in command heads to the turbolift ready to take over.

The Kagemon follows her escorts in and the Captain takes a good look at other ships as she passes. 'Impressive' she thinks.

The Admiral picked up the comm. "You have no claim to this planet. Neomans were the first here, of all the people present we have priorety claim to this planet."

Bryant turned to Admiral Munsell, "Sir, Landing Backup Fleet II Zeta is on approach, eta to our position, 4 hours."

"Aye. Tell the Landing Group I to launch for the landing coordinates. And keep a sharp eye on these new guys,"

"Sir."

Landing Group I, consisting of 9 light dropships set for the vectors sent by the Neoman ship. Upon landing, the unloading began. From the ships came 1 staging group (with field staging center), eight Mechanized units, two medium artillery tanks, 40 Commonwealth Space Marines, and 10 Medic units (and field medicenter).

Bryant turned hastily back again towards Fleet Admiral Munsell, "Sir! Hostile activity in the unknown's outpost!"

"Get on the Comm, Bryant. Tell Landing Backup Fleet II Zeta to get here as fast as possible."

"Sir!" Bryant said and turned back to the comm.

"Exploration Fleet II Gamma, this is Fleet Admiral Munsell. Set alert level to Medium. Standby on all shields. Carrier I, prepare fighters."

Jacob Looked at himself in the mirror. He was about 5'9'' and 146 pounds. He had medium hair. He had a lean healthy build a must for all space fairing people.

He turned and took a shot from his breath freshener. He put on his ceremonial Officers dress and put on his shiny shoes. He walked out of his room and was greeted by two Elite Van guards. They flanked him as he went down the hall and onto the elevator. He hit the landing dock button and the elevator. It hummed to life and withing 5 seconds he was already on the landing dock.

The Admiral and his Elite Vanguard walked onto the landing dock. A flight officer faced him

"Sir were just waiting for them to arrive... oh here they are," Jacob looked and could see three sets of dots in the distance coming toward the force field.

Bryant turned to Admiral Munsell, "Sir, Landing Backup Fleet II Zeta is on approach, eta to our position, 4 hours."

Lieutenant Samuel Wolf walked over to the men, He was flanked by two Battle suits.

he walked up to the nearest person. "I wish to speak to you commanding officer on the ground."

Colonal John Greenfield stepped forward. He was of stocky build. He was one of the suited-up space marines of the Texarian Army. He had seen combat on over 21 planets, including that of San Texario Prime. His unshaven face was flecked with grey, though his hair, short and standing straight up, was a dark brown.
"Colonal John Greenfield, Texarian Army, Space Marines," he said, "How can we be of service?"

Meanwhile, in the command frigate:
"Sir," Bryant said, his eyes on his screens, "Message from Landing Backup Fleet II Zeta. Eta in 45 minutes."

"Very well," Responded the Fleet Admiral.

"Very well, Liutenant. I've got some mechanized units myself. The tanks are primarily for defense, but the walking mechs I can deploy in a few small teams. Ideally, I'd fan them out in one general direction, splitting off.

The 'Kagemon' drops speed further and safely docks with the Neoman ship.

"lets go Nomi" Ari says and her first officer follows her into the docking port. The other door opens and the two women are greeted by a security team who lead them to the Admiral.

Jacob leaned in close to the flight officer looking over his shoulder at the control panel. "Okay now you need to cancel out reboot, and execute program 332 okay"

The Flight officer nodded ad began to do what Jacob told him.

"Sir the commander of the Kirisubo ship are here."

Jacob turned to look at the Elite Vanguard.

His eyes scanned the two.

He walked up to the Commander

"Hello my name is Jacob Calvert. Commanding officer of this Neoman fleet."

He extended his hand to the stunning women.

Ari shakes the Admirals hand and the both women bow.

"Greetings Admiral Calvert" Ari replies "Samurai-Captain Ari Fujimoto at your service. May I also introduce my First Officer and Science Officer Commander Nomi Onazuka"

Nomi gives the Admiral a little smile.

(Nomi is in her mid 20's and wears her dark hair long just like her Captain. Both women are small and lightly built and the only difference in the uniforms is the different gold badges on the left side of the jacket and the number of rank pips on their jacket collars.

The Captains badge is two crossed katanas and Nomi's is a represntation of an atom)

Jacob thought for a moment "Do you want the grand tour or just get down to business?"

Nomi speaks in slightly accented english and says "a tour would be nice if its going". she looks at her commander who just nods back in approval.

Jacob smiled at both Nomi and Ari, "Alright, If you would follow me then well get going."

Jacob walked over to a small elevator. "First i think we will visit the gun deck. Since its the closest"

Jacob walked in and sat down on one of the chairs. "Be careful these thing don't go up or down, they might throw you off the chair"

Delta 441, 442, and 445 Trudged threw the dense underbrush.

Delta 441s motion sensor suddenly pinged off to the far south.

“What is it?” 442 questioned

“I'm not sure, keep it tight” 441 ordered to 442 and 445.

Suddenly there was a loud crash in front of 441 as a strange alien like creature erupted from the dense undergrowth.

The creature charged them.

“Halt! Or we will open fire,” 445 Shouted at the charging creature.

The creature didn’t stop or show any signs of understanding.

The creature jumped at 441 and crashed into 441s extremely hard chest plate.

It bite and scratched at the metal, tearing small chucks from it.

441 Reached up and grabbed the creature and examined it.

It seemed like it was unconcerned with its own safety, The look in its eyes seemed to look like insanity itself.

“What should we do with it? kill it maybe?” 445 inquired.

441 ran situation protocols threw its cyber brain till it reached the optimal protocol.

“No we will take it back to the beachhead.” 441 turned to walk back to the beachhead.

Suddenly the motion tracker pinged off again. This time, there were many signals.

The forest crashed as hundreds of the same species charged the Battle suits.

“Fire!” 441 screamed as secured the captured creature with tie down ropes.

441, 442, and 445 let open with there Gatling guns and flamethrowers sending death toward the horde of creatures.

Ari and Nomi take a seat while the elevator makes its journey.

Back on the Kagemon Toshiro Sakura feels out off place on the bridge. The only male officer on the ship he resented the accident of birth that limited his career prospects.

New Kirisubo in general had a larger female population than a male one and since women were calmer and more logical they were more likely to become officers in the space fleet.

with 2/3rds of the total crew being female the 20 men on board generally had a harder time while on missions.

Hoshi Mikato, the comms officer looks up from her console and reports "commander, I'm picking up Neoman signals from the surface"

she listens more intently and adds "I think they're in combat"

Toshiro goes over to her and says "keep listening and tell me what happens"

Word had reached back to the beachead that the exploration team had begun combat. Colonel Greenfield summoned Mech Team I (Half of the landed mechs) to him. The mechs were large, and human piloted. The Texarian High Generals all believed that it was better to rely on human instinct than machines, "Ok. Word has reached that the Neoman exploration team has encountered hostiles. Your alert status is at high, should need be to go and assist them."

Greenfield turned to Lt. Wolf, "I have four mechs at the ready to assist your units, if need should arise."

The elevator came to a halt and Jacob stood.

The doors slid open and he stepped out. "This is the main control room for all the NNS juggernauts guns, we have 8 triple barrel Plasma turrets, 35 AA guns, 70 Flac barrier cannon."

"This room also acts as a secondary bridge." Jacob turned to look at Ari and Nomi.

"Now any questions, if not we can go to The Aircraft hanger or the Barracks whatever you wish. Those are really the only two interesting aspects of the NNS Juggernaut."

Lt. Wolf looked at Greenfield "No, they haven't called for reinforcements. That means they got it under control, or there in deep shit. which ever the battle suits can handle themselves... I think, i don't know what there up against. And i cant allow myself to have you send men out there without any kind of information."

Wolf paused for a moment "I think we should wait for a few, just to make sure... I might call the NNS Juggernaut and have them send down F.E.A.R soldiers. There trained to deal with this kind of thing."

Exploration Team

441 Walked out of the battle ground. The forest was on fire, and bodies were everywhere. 442 and 445 had become incapacitated.

441 Was badly damaged but it could still walk and the captured specimen was undamaged.

Sparks flew from the joints in its legs, but nothing gave out.

441 Headed back to the beachhead, but how many more of the creatures were out there was unknown. But 441 now knew what happened to the fauna of this planet.

Ooc: ill be gone for an hour or so…

Nomi's about to ask something when Ari's comunicator badge goes off.

she hits the crossed swords and listens to the brief report in Kirisuban.

Ari simply replies "wakarimas Sakura san" and hits the badge again.

"Jacob" she says "my comms officer has picked up a report of a fire fight on the planet. If they're not fighting another team on the planet they must have found the fauna of the planet"

Nomi's about to ask something when Ari's comunicator badge goes off.

Ari simply replies "wakarimas Sakura san" and hits the badge again.

"Jacob" she says "my comms officer has picked up a report of a fire fight on the planet. If they're not fighting another team on the planet they must have found the fauna of the planet"

Jacob brisk fully walked to the elevator and once everyone was piled in he hit a button and the elevator rose.

When the elevator arrived Jacob walked out, a strange commanding look on his face.

"What are my men fighting down there?" Jacob barked at the Comms. officer.

"Unknown sir, Delta 441 has captured a specimen but is heavily damaged."

Jacob thought for a moment, "Send them down."

The ensign looked at him "Who?"

"The F.E.A.R teams," Jacob looked at a terrain map. 441 was almost 6 miles from the Beachhead

"How many?" The comms. ensign had a finger on the button

"All of them, both ships."

"Sir," The ensign began to type while talking.

Jacob turned to Ari and Nomi "You can stay if you want, or i can have a ship ferry you to your ship,"

Suddenly the ship rocked violently.

"We don't have many troops on our ship but we could send a scientific away team down to help if you want it. They could transport to the co-ordinates of the F.E.A.R. teams once they make planetfall.

Nomi will of course lead it. She's the best science officer in the fleet and she'll be able to figure this out"

"I must stay on the bridge but if you wish Nomi could go down in one of our dropships, slow i must admit but she could take a F.E.A.R pod. There self guided and it pretty safe as long as you arnet going to take enemy fire."

Jacob paused for a moment and pulled a cigar from his pocket and lit it.

The pods raced as they flew threw the sky.

Inside each pod a F.E.A.R member laid inside, They prepared for what was coming.

About 1 mile west of the Beach head 700 One man pods crashed into the ground.

It strode slowly past the forest even more sparks flying flew from it.

"Common with me lets go!" Lt. Wolf vaulted over the fortification ans sprinted to his downed comrade.

20 or so men followed Lt. Wolf

441 Was lying on its back, sparks flying from its joints.

but it had a Creature in its grasp the Lt. Wolf never seen before

The private reached into a pocked and pulled out a small circular device and handed it to Lt. Wolf.

LT. Wolf took the sonic emitter and placed it on the bound creature.

The creature thrash violently then it went unconscious.

Lt. Wolf place two fingers into his ear pressing the Comm. device. "Ready the cage."

two men took the Creature back to the fortification while Lt. Wolf and the other 18 men dragged 441 back to the fortification.

6 columns of light appeared amongst the F.E.A.R. team while they were working.

the columns solidify and 6 humans appear. all female.

they now wear red field jackets over their usual uniform with their comm badges on their new coats.

Nomi leads her armed team over to the commander on the ground and introduces herself. "I'm Commander Nomi Onazuka, the Science Officer from the Kagemon ready to assist you"

Every kirisuban has a PPW (Plasma Particle Weapon) pistol and look like they can use them as well.

Finally the leader walked up "Were going to the beach head, If you want to live follow us."

The F.E.A.R members started a slow jog east toward the beachhead.

The creature bashed against the cage walls furious and blood hungry.

Lt. Wolf finally got 441 into the fortification and 441 was now set up on a repair bed.

suddenly Lt. Wolf felt something hit his face.

He looked up and sall the storm could. "Shit,"

Nomi and her team follow the F.E.A.R team.

Nomi sees the creature and gets out her scanner and after looking over the readings with a colleague she says "If thats the local fauna no wonder this place has no other animal life on it.

I doubt an any animal species would be able to co-exist with it. Doctor Abe can you look this life form over"

The Kagemon's Doctor goes over to the cage and using her medical scanner charts the creatures biological makeup.

Suddenly All the Auto-Guns on the south side of the Beach head went off.

The twin 10mm Guns sprayed the forest.

"Fuck! Miss. Nomi I'm in charge of your safety, You are to follow me."

Lt. Wolf Grabbed a Scope and looked into the forest.

"How many?" The F.E.A.R commander

Lt. Wolf looked down from the scope at him, "Allot,"

There was a crash from the forest and hundreds of creatures spilled forth.

The men on the lines opened up. There assault rifles, RPGs, and machine guns, made a horrendous noise as they send burning death into the horde of creature.

Lt. Wolf looked at Nomi, "Have you and your team been in combat before, or any Combat training?"

"Sir! the beachhead is under attack by massive amounts of creatures, the same race as the captured creature!"

Jacob looked at the ensign "You've got to be kidding me!"

"Can we fire on them?" Jacob looked to his weapons chief

"No we can, will hit our own guys!" The chief was standing behind his desk.

"F*CK!!!" Jacob screamed as he slammed his fist on the arm metal edge of the control panel

He looked at Ari, "Please sit," he pointed at his commanders chair

"Galactic Intruders, well shake violently if we launch anything, If your not use to it you could fall and hurt yourself. Or we could ferry you to your ship. Once i got red alert you cant leave, all bays are for fighters and drop ships going to fight the enemy or landing troops. I'm sorry but its protocol."

Back on the ship Ari says "I'll stay. my third in command can look after things on the Kagemon".

She accepts the command chair and sits down in it and adds "we can use our transporters to extract all the people down there"

On the surface Nomi nods to her team and they all draw their PPW pistols. She replies to Lt Wolf "we've all got combat training otherwise we wouldn't get into the space service"

She looks to one of her security people and says "Azumi, take your security team and help out at the perimiter"

she turns back to the Lt. and says "I believe their telepathic ability allows them to work together"

The creatures kept coming more and more came at them from all sides.

Even the mighty battle suits couldn’t hold them back.

Lt. Wolf grabbed seven Model 2 APBR (All purpose Battle Rifle)

He walked over to Miss Nomi and here team.

They were busy firing there pistols into the mob of creatures.

"Here, use them if you need them! There slug throwers not those plasma weapons you’ve got"

Lt. Wolf gave Miss Nomi a funny little smile; He thought even though she was from a different nation and culture maybe... just mabey...

He stood next to her, He raised his rifle and sent 3 rounds into a creature, and it fell over dead. He dropped another, and another. He didn’t think about it, it was all instinct for him.

Suddenly the comm. device implanted in his ear went off.

"Lt.! Cover your head, we’ve got back up!"

Lt. Wolf spun "Cover!"

His men ducked behind the fortification. He looked up at Nomi “You might want to duck”

Suddenly engines could be heard, and from over the west horizon 3 dots appeared they were coming in fast.

Jacob looked at the Screen the three fighters he sent were coming in on the Beachhead.

He looked at Ari, “I only hope we don’t hit our guys…”

Suddenly an Alarm Klaxon hooted.

“Sir, hyperspace worm hole appearing, its big sir, really big. I’ve never seen something this big,”

Jacob clenched his hands “F*ck”

The View screen flickered as it changed to the hyperspace wormhole.

Suddenly the ship rocked violently as it sent a MR (messenger rocket)

The MR flew gracefully away from the GI at about 500m it entered hyperspace and disappeared.

“Sir its launching fighter! There heading for the Beachhead!”

“MotherF*ck! Launch all fighters! Intercept!”

After a few seconds the Ship rocked again, as Fighters were launched out of the bays,”

200 from both ships raced to intercept the other fighters.

“Oh shi-“ The ensign didn’t get to finish her sentence

“It fired on us! Shields down 6%”

“Deflect all shield fronts! Fire all Guns!!!”

The three fighters flew over the beachhead.

Lt. Wolf covered Nomi with his body. There were several blasts, Heat wasted over LT. Wolf and the others defending the beachhead.

He waited a coupled of seconds and waited for the debris, It fell. Rock, dirt and gore splattered all over the area.

Lt. Wolf stood up and surveyed the battle ground.

There were numerous blast holes around the Beachhead.

But after a few seconds more creatures came crashing threw the forest.

"F*CK!" Lt. Wolf screamed as he raised his rifle and dropped more creatures.

The Alien fighters were starting to go down.

"WHOOOO!" Shouted one of the fighter pilots as he dodged plasma cannon fire.

The group of 400 fighters descended on the mass of over 2000 fighters.

The got within missile range, the shot missiles and spared fighters with 10mm death.

The two GIs the "NNS Juggernaut'' and the "NNS Guiding Light" fired on the Spherical craft.

Nukes, Powered Bolts, Missiles, went up at the enemy ship. They impacted the sphere and but exploded at 4m due to a extremely strong shield.

Jacob looked at the screen and shouted in distress.

He looked up at Ari, "I'm sorry, but that was our strongest volley. Now its only time..."

Suddenly another Alarm Klaxon hooted. A hyperspace rift was opening.

Ship after ship came threw.

A cheer came up from the crew.

Jacob tried to count them.

"5 GIs, and 7 Dante Destroyers."

He turned to Ari. "Thank Coord for the cullis gate!"

There was a crackle from the deck Comm. "Greeting, this is the Zeta Battle group, Admiral

The Zeta Battler group fired on the Sphere.

Nomi calls out to her team "we've still got a fight to win" and the women pick up their guns and keep picking off creatures with short controlled bursts.

Relieved Nomi kisses Lt Wolf on the cheek and turns her attention back to the fire fight.

Ari is as relieved as anyone to see the reinforcements arrive and contacts Lt Cmr Sakura to get his report.

"keep firing and keep moving so it can't hit you" she tells him over the comm link and ends the message confident that she's see her ship again in one piece.

The units fired at the creatures as they came, the tanks providing artillery support and the Mechs being heavy weapons. As the fighters came in, the Mech Units fired their rockets to stave them off and possibly destroy a few.

Meanwhile, far above the planet, a Hypergate finally opened and Landing Backup Fleet II Zeta arrived, having been delayed by the worm hole. The fleet consisted of one Lancer Class Command Frigate, three Gryphon Class Carrier Frigates, 26 Beetle Class Corvettes, and 18 Viper Class Corvettes. Each Carrier Frigate carried 400 Sentinal Fighters in addition to the one frigate already in the system with 200. As they found position, the 1400 Sentinal Class Fighters launched from their bays and began to engage the alien fighters.

At once, the 28 Beetle Class Corvettes, the smaller class, more accurate class, began targeting fighters with its turbolasers, while the 20 Viper Class started targeting the larger ships with turbolasers and plasma launchers.

The Neoman fighters had superior maneuvering, speed, and firepower.

But they were outnumbered 7 to 1.

The fighters dodged, weaved and fired.

Lt Wolf broke off and turned to Nomi, "We are not going to hold out long, Ammo is going to be a problem here shortly. And bringing ammo down from above would not be a very good idea, because of the space constrictions."

He paused for a moment and took a breath. he stood up and tried to take aim down range. But one of the creatures was right at the fortification wall.

"SH*T!!!" Lt. Wolf pushed Nomi out of the way and turned to face the creature.

It pounced.

The creature tackled him in the lower abdomen.

As he fell back he placed his rifle into the chest of the creature, and pulled the trigger.

The APBR came alive and sent 10mm death into the chest of the creature.

It flung wildly and sunk a claw into his stomach.

Lt. Wolf fell on his back and the creatures inertia took it about 5 ft behind him.

Lt. Wolf got up his hand clutched his stomach.

"Son of a b*tch!" he drew his pistol and shot the dead creature a few times.

Nomi says "Yuko, The Lt. needs help"

Dr Yuko Abe leaves her rifle at a colleges feet and rushes over to the injured Lt Wolf. She can see how deep the wound and using her medical scanner can tell that theres some damage to his intentines.

"We'll fix you up on the ship" she tells him and taking a scalpel from a medical bag she cuts open his jacket and then his shirt. she then takes a sterile wipe and cleans the blood away from the wound before going into her bag and taking out the autostitcher.

working quickly she uses the instrument to close over the wound and even with all the chaos of combat going on around her has the presence of mind of contact the Kagemon to ask for an emergency beam out.

the reply is negative and she tells Nomi the science officer fires another short burst "Nomi sama, the shields are up. We can't evaculate yet."

Nomi runs out off ammo and reverts back to her PPW pistol which vapourises a creature that gets too close in one shot.

Lt. Wolf didn't move letting the doctor work. Blood slowly seeped from the corner of his mouth.

Every once and a while he would raise his pistol and drop a creature.

He raised his hand to his ear and contacted the Admiral

They talked for a moment and he looked at Nomi "Were going to have to survive until the battle overhead is over, I'm going to call in another air strike, and a simultaneous drooping of reinforcements and supplies in the blast zone."

Nomi manages a small smile and asks "If we get out of this how about dinner in my quarters?" before she blasts another creature into the next world.

"things may get a little bumpy soon" she tells her team as they keep shooting, Dr Abe using her medical scanner on the Lt. and frowning at the readings she gets back.

Lt. Wolf smilled at Nomi. He had never meet a women like her before.

He looked down at Dr. Abe who was frowning at her scanner.

"What? Whats wrong Doc?" A chill ran up his spine.

"internal bleeding" Yuko replies "The Lt. will die soon unless I can get him back to a sickbay"

She goes into her medical kit and injects him with a hypospray.

"I don't want you going into shock" she says gently "this will keep you awake until this assault is over one way or another"

"I can hack it, I'm stronger than that... MEDIC!!!" Lt. Wolf turned and he could see one of his medics sprint over.

"I want you to prepare a Nanonic shot,"

The Medic looked around, "Who's injured sir?"

"I am.." He lifted his shirt and showed him the stitches"

"Sir" The medic ran back threw the chaos

He looked down at Dr. Abe. "The Nanonic shot helps my brain functions, and if need be put my ass in a hibernative sleep."

Suddenly the engines sounds were right on top of them.

"COVER!!!" he knelt down and covered is ears.

Jacob looked at the screen, The barrage from the fleet was not really effecting the Sphere ship much.

He new Lt. Wolf was severely injured, and was going to die if he didn't get help.

He looked at Ari. "If you can get your ship behind ours, you may be able to drop your shields and evac the wounded. but i wont force you to."

All enemy fighters were burnt up but only 13 Neoman fighters were coming home.

"I can do that" Nomi says and activates her comm badge.

With a few instructions to the Kagemon it breaks off the attack on the globe ship and comes round to safety.

"Dr Abe, Lt. Commander Sakura" she says into her comm badge "prepare for transport of any injured down there.

A female voice replies back "Hai, Captain".

She says "we can transport 36 people per minute. How many injured are down there? Jacob I'll start the transport when you are ready"


on the ground

everyone ducks for cover hoping this attack run will be more effective..

"I can do that" Nomi says and activates her comm badge.

With a few instructions to the Kagemon it breaks off the attack on the globe ship and comes round to safety.

"Dr Abe, Lt. Commander Sakura" she says into her comm badge "prepare for transport of any injured down there.

A female voice replies back "Hai, Captain".

She says "we can transport 36 people per minute. How many injured are down there? Jacob I'll start the transport when you are ready"

He walked over to Nomi "I have 5 with minor injury's, and they want to stay. But there 1 with major injurys... me."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a letter.

"If something should happen to me, find my parents and give them this... either way, I'm ready..."

Dr Abe accepts the letter, nods and hits her comm badge giving an order in Kirisuban.

The pair of them vanish in a glitter of light..

Now able to work properly she cuts away the shirt and removing the tempory stitches starts emergency surgery after giving the Lt. a knock out spray.

Assisted by her nurse the two women fight to save their patients life.

Dr Abe accepts the letter, nods and hits her comm badge giving an order in Kirisuban.

10 Fighters scorched the air as the flew over.

Suddenly huge explosions rocked the very ground they stood on.

Fire balls flew into the sky.

When the flames dissipated more engines could be heard, 20 Zeltac Drop ships (These thing stay and fight with the men) could be seen. The came in and stopped about 5 feet from the ground. and 200 full combat solders piled out and charged the Fortification carrying large cases on the side in bright yellow letter said AMMO. They lept over the walls and took positions.

The Drop ships raised and flew off.

The pods started to crash into the ground and 50 F.E.A.R members bursted forth and scrambled to the fortification.

The Zeltac Drop ships came back and hovered over the fortification, they could stay for a little over 4 hours.

The F.E.A.R commander walked over to Nomi.

"When can we expect Lt. Wolf to return? ...If he does at all. Either way the suns setting so I'm going to have flood lights put up."

Nomi shakes her head and says "Dr Abe said his wounds were serious and that she would need to operate. It looks like you're in charge for a good while yet"

The rest of her team recover their wits and the female Kirisuban security chief goes over to her first officer.

"we stay here" Nomi says "we can't leave now since i'm sure that the Kagemon has raised shields again"


on the Kagemon

Yuko and her nurse Arisu Ogawa work hard to repair the damaged intestines which were causing the internal bleeding. As Arisu clamps them off one at a time Yuko stitches them closed.

Finally able to drain the blood off she stitches him back up and lets him rest.

The bio bed shows encouraging results and after washing her hands she send a message to her Captain.

"Captain, Dr Abe reporting. Lt Wolf has just been through surgery and should recover given a few days bed rest. He won't be able to return to combat till then"


on the Neoman flag ship

Ari tells Jacob "It looks like Lt Wolf will survive. After Dr Abe operated she said that he'll need bed rest for a few days but will fight another day"

Minute after minute passed, but no creatures came... The line was uneasy fearing.

The F.E.A.R commander walked over to Nomi two cuts of instant coffee in his hands.

"I just got word Lt. Wolf is doing well, he'll be in bed for a few days... He's not going to like that much. I hope this isn't embarrassing but is there something between you two? Lt. Wolf and I have been best friends all our lives, we joined up together doing the war..."

He handed her a cup of Coffee. He set his down and pulled flask from his coat pocket. He spiked his cup and looked up at Nomi.

"Its Norfolk tears, Goes down like the finest of wines, but hits your stomach like the hardest of whiskeys. want some?"

"Oh by the way i have set up a privet tent for you and your team, if you want to get some rest. The tents because your all women and were all men..."

Suddenly a brilliant green flash erupted from the enemy ship and a Dante destroyer burnt up.

"I cant believe that one hit burnt up one of our Dantes..."

Nomi says "Domo commander" as she accepts the coffee and a little of the norfolk tears.

"thank you for the consideration" she adds. she calls over her security chief and her and the rest of the team head to the tent on their commanders orders.

"I don't need much sleep" Nomi says as she sips at the coffee "and Commander I don't even know your name yet"

she manages a little smile to put the man at his ease.

"Hmmh. The living seem to consider this planet an asset," the spectral Dusk Elder spoke to the Censor who stood next to the Dusk Elder in his full pitch black power armor, which was bursting with green flames from the seams from time to time, and torn red cape. The two had been observing the battle - from a safe distance and behind as much of the underbrush as was possible.

The Censor let out a short, cold laugh.

"True. Why else would they fight these beings with such fervor instead of admitting defeat and leaving? Their petty needs exceed their higher mental functions."

The two saw that the battle was coming to a close, for now. At least planet-side.

"As long as it does not affect us..."

They were accompanied with quite a few humanoid creatures in black, yet somewhat light armor, wielding weapons that resembled machine guns. The group was standing right behind the two. Needless to say, they were all dead.

The Censor turned around to face them and let out a chilling shriek, after which the beings turned around and began marching deeper into the forest.

"Yes... If they do not interfere, everything will go as planned... But I think they will. If they find us out. But I doubt they would know of what we seek."

Then the Censor walked after them and the Dusk Elder hovered beside him. They had much to accomplish, and their time was growing shorter.

back in space

Captain Ari Fujimoto contacts the Kagemon for a tactical update.

"repair the shields and be ready to resume the attack if necessary" she tells Lt Cmr Sakura.

Having noticed what the globe ship can do against smaller vessels she wonders if the Kagemon, the most advanced exploration ship in the fleet could handle that amount of damage.

She replies to Jacob "I hope that Kagemon won't have to handle a direct hit from that ship. I've never seen anything like it before. We collectively hit it with everything we had and nothing seemed to affect it"

Jacob looked at Ari.

"There is one more thing we could try... Its one of our strongest bombs. Its a two ton Antimatter bomb, Its not pretty trust me. I think if we hit a spot all at the same time then launch the bomb strapped to a missle... We may just blink them out of exsistance..."

Jacob took a cigar from his pocket and lit it. He puffed it.

"Either way using it is extremely hazardous.... we may lose 10, to 15% of the people on the ground... but its the only thing i see that would help."

Lt. Wolf slowly opened his eyes, His vision was fuzzy and he couldn't make out the rooms layout.

"Is any one there?" His voice was rough and cracked a little...

The F.E.A.R commander looked at Nomi "My name is Fredrick,"

One of his men came over to him. "Sir i want to take a team out and scout the area where the creatures first appeared."

Fredrick thought for a moment.

"You wont have support out there, i wont send in men to pull you guys out i hope you know that."

"Yes sir,"

"Okay take a volunteer team only."

"Yes sir,"

The F.E.A.R member ran off to assemble a team

"... Yes, we have indeed made progress, Sire."

The Censor and his companions had marched back to the area with their... Objective. He was conversing with a Lictor he had left in control, who wore an armor just like he did - the Lictor just did not have a cape.

"Good."

The Censor began to walk towards the site, and the Lictor did the same.

"We expect the excavation to take some more time, though."

The Censor nodded and looked straight into the crevice. He smirked rather twistedly, but no one saw it, for his face was covered by the power armor. Then he turned back to the Lictor.

"Have the... Locals objected to our presence?"

"No. It seems they do not see us as a threat. But that could change."

"Good, good... It would be excellent for us if they never turned their attention to us... And it so far seems that they care more for the living than for the dead."

"That would be the basic assumption."

The Dusk Elder had been with them, but had been silent so far, hovering idly. But now...

"Lord Censor... They might begin to assault us when we take away the artifact."

The Censor turned to face the Dusk Elder and when the spectre had finished, he crossed his arms.

"Hmh. It is possible. It could be that these other undead have been attracted by it without even knowing of its existence... I have no idea why it was placed on this planet to begin with..."

"Who knows what the Lord was thinking," said the Dusk Elder, "It is our duty to bring this artifact to the Lich Queen."

"And we shall not fail her Excellency," said the Lictor, glancing at the two. Otherwise he did not dare to look at them, he watched the ground.

The Censor nodded again in agreement and placed his arms back on his sides. He watched the Wights that stood around them and let out another chilling shriek. The Wights seemed to disperse into the surroundings.

"Indeed. We shall bring it back for the glory of the Ashen Empire, even if it means destroying this planet."

He looked at Ari. "Theres a problem, The drop ships will only be able to hold so many people, And people will be stranded on the ground until the drop ships could come back."

"They dont call us First Encounter Assault and Reckon for nothing. Usually its just bug hunts but a stand up fight like this is always preferable to sneaking around in the sewers of abandoned city's,"

Nomi drinks some coffee and chuckles. Her missions were never usually this dangerous.

"Frederick" she says "my security chief thinks the same way. If I went on an away team without a PPW she'd have my hide when I got back and I'd need Dr Abe to out me back together again"

Dr Abe calls over her nurse and as the nurse consulted the medical scanner Yuko couldn't see what was causing Lt Wolfs problem.

Not one to panic she hits his back so he can cough up whats making him choke.

"Jacob" Ari asks "just how many people are down there? I'm sure we could manage an evac with the Kagemon and your fleet. We can keep transporting as long as we need to"

The Dusk Elder floated closer to the Censor, who was keeping an eye on the surroundings at the moment until he noticed the Dusk Elder had come close. The green burst of light coming from the seams of his armor was much stronger now. He was visibly frustrated.

Whilst the dead rarely show any emotion, it does not mean that they cannot feel any emotions. The feelings generally considered positive by the living are dulled down, but the negative ones tend to be augmented by a lot.

"It is unbelievable that the Lord would go this far to... Test us."

"I doubt these are tests. It is possible that He has just hidden these artifacts from the living. They always seem to be accompanied with beacons that show their location to us ever-so-subtly."

The Censor became a bit less tense.

"Hmph. Maybe you are right, Dusk Elder."

"I am quite sure that I am."

The Censor nodded slightly.

"I truly hope so."

The Lictor walked up to the two from their backs, from the general direction of the excavation site.

"Sires."

The Censor turned around, as did the Dusk Elder, even if he was lazier in doing so. The Censor was slightly annoyed by the Lictor's impudence.

"What?"

"We are close. We can feel the chamber it is in now. Whilst your scryings," he bowed slightly towards the Dusk Elder, "were necessary to locate it... It is no longer required."

"Good. Continue," said the Censor, feeling some kind of relief. They were finally making progress.

The Lictor bowed at the two and backed away. The Censor watched him do so, and then turned to the Dusk Elder.

"Finally. Soon, it'll be over."

"Yes."

in sickbay Yuko says to Lt Wolf "your men are being transported here until they can be shuttled to their ships. I don't know what else is going on yet"

more FEAR team members are transported off the surface at the same time as shuttles land.

"It'll soon be our turn" Nomi says to Frederick

"Sires!"

The Lictor ran to the two from the behind, from the general direction of the excavation site. They still were conversing.

The Censor turned once again, but this time he aimed the Lictor with his rather sizable weapon, not much unlike that of the Wights. He was greatly annoyed by his underling.

"What do you want now?"

The Lictor took a few steps backwards. He felt an odd sensation - fear.

"Sire... We punched through to the chamber."

"... And?"

"It is guarded by a strange beast. The weapons of the Wights have proven themselves ineffective thus far. It seems that the inner parts of the chamber are protected somehow... The beast demands a... Duel."

The Censor lowered his weapon.

"A duel?"

The Lictor felt somewhat relieved. Censors can be intimidating indeed, but at least it did not lead to anything this time. Then he continued.

"Yes. It wishes to fight... Our champion."

"Tell me more."

"I will, but please, come with me..."

The Censor began to follow the Lictor, whilst the Dusk Elder stayed put.

At last, something to do.

Suddenly 7 men came running from the jungle.

Fredrick stood up and readied himself by raising his rifle.

The got to the wall, "Sir! we found footprints, in the jungle. There were no men around that area."

The FEAR member stood there breathing heavily.

"Alright, ill remember that." Fredrick looked at Nomi

"Yay... we get to come back to this hell hole..."

Ari was happy with the speed of the evacuation and the reports she was getting. the mess hall now full, FEAR troops were now filling the recreation area and the surrounding corridors.

"... Interesting."

It was all he had to say to the Lictor's story. Indeed, the beast in the chamber had been very adamant on seeing the one who was in command of the endeavor. It would not bring down its protective shield before that, it had said. Nothing had been able to penetrate it.

They stood at the very entrance they had made into the place. It was illuminated by the green light of the beast's shield. The walls, the ceiling, the floor were made of the blackest obsidian. It was perfect... Or had been perfect until the chamber had been forced open.

"Finally... You have come," said the beast. Suddenly, the room was pitch black.

"Indeed I have."

The Censor dropped his cumbersome weapon and took something from his sides. As the things were lit, it was obvious that they were swords... Of sort. He entered the chamber, leaving the corridor behind. Suddenly, it was shut by a rather large block of pitch black obsidian.

Again the room was lit. The beast had not moved.

It snorted.

"Yes... You are one of them."

The Censor took a battle stance. He saw something behind the beast, but just for a second.

"I am here to claim that artifact for the Ashen Empire."

"... I have been waiting for you."

"You have?"

"Yes... Finally, a follower of the Lord."

The Censor lowered his swords.

"What is this?"

"I was placed here to guard the Ankh from intruders millennia ago. In the name of our Lord."

"What...?"

"You are not an intruder. You are the one I have been waiting for. The Ashen Empire has risen... Just as the Lord told me."

"So...?"

"I will not stop you from getting what is rightfully yours. Of Ermor. Of your Queen."

The beast took a sidestep, leaving the path to the Ankh open, and the Censor began walking towards it. Just as he was about to pass the creature...

"There is one thing..."

He saw what was about to happen - the beast was going to take a swipe at him. He ducked and sliced the beast's abdomen with his swords, and proceeded to cut its head and arms off. The body still stood there, with its decayed insides falling onto the ground and black blood flowing everywhere, staining the Censor's armor.

The disembodied head spoke...

"Yes... Now I can return... Tell him that....."

And there was silence, and the obsidian blocking the way to the chamber retreated back into the floor.

The Censor placed his swords back to their sheathes and removed the Ankh from its pedestal. He put it in a pouch he kept fastened to his waist.

The small chamber began to crumble. Such a cliche.

He swiftly and calmly ran into the corridor and picked up his weapon, right next to which the Lictor still stood.

"Did you...?"

"Yes, but we better relocate. This place is not safe."

The two ran out of the corridor made in the excavation. It had also begun to crumble down. It had not been made to last anyway.

On the surface, they were met by the Dusk Elder and several unholy priests.

The Dusk Elder spoke with anticipation.

"Did you get it?

The Censor took the Ankh from the pouch.

"Yes."

He put it back.

"Good. Now we can prepare to leave."

"We'll just have make sure the locals don't get worked up by our handiwork while you cast your spells."

The Dusk Elder nodded.

They had the item. Now they had to make their way out of the planet.

He paused for a moment and sall a drop ship lift off, Dust and small particles of dirt stung at his face.

"Speaking of Lt. Wolf, i hope this isn't embarrassing but is there something between you and him? You don't have to answer if you don't want to."

Nomi manages a smile and replies "Frederick san, maybe there is something and maybe there not. I don't even know myself yet.."

Nomi then heads to the sickbay with Frederick so she can check on Lt Wolf.

Seeing him sitting up enjoying a cigerette makes her smile again and she gets a brief rundown off events from Dr Abe.

"How do you feel" she asks Lt Wolf

He had waited. And waited.

And waited.

He was growing impatient. The Censor left his own little spot in the underbrush that surrounded the now caved in excavation site. He wasn't that far from it - in fact, he was in the closest "line" to it.

He walked towards the Dusk Elder and spoke out.

"How long will it take? Or are you slacking off?"

"... Silence!"

The Dusk Elder had made some kind of runes on the ground, who knows for what purpose. There were purple gems in the middle of it all. They were glowing somewhat.

"What are you doing? That doesn't look like the usual ritual."

The Dusk Elder turned towards the Censor, annoyed.

"How nice of you to notice. We need a greater one to transport that artifact through the Underworld unscathed. Now, if you'll excuse me..."

He turned towards his runes again, mumbled something in the ways of "impudent fool" and began whispering something incoherent. The purple glow begun to flow from the gems to the runes. It seemed as though he was making progress.

The Censor shrugged.

"... Have it your way," he said rather quietly, and began walking back to his "post". At least the locals had been quiet, if something good was to be found of the whole situation.

Nomi manages a smile and replies "Frederick san, maybe there is something and maybe there not. I don't even know myself yet.."

"Please Nomi, I'm off duty call me Samuel. But for having a gapping hole in my stomach repaired I'm doing alright"

He looked at Fredrick, "How many did we lose?"

Fredrick smiled "Zero, its a miracle that nobody died, Thank Coord."

Samuel smiled and shook his head lightly.

Nomi goes over to Dr Abe and they speak in kirisuban briefly.

Nomi nods and says "Yuko says that you'll need to take things easy for a few days and not to do anything too active otherwise you'll undo her surgery.

You'll also need a new shirt and jacket as well"

She walks over to Samuel Wolf and smiles broadly.

"Samuel Wolf, i believe we had a deal"

Nomi goes over to Dr Abe and they speak in kirisuban briefly.

Nomi nods and says "Yuko says that you'll need to take things easy for a few days and not to do anything too active otherwise you'll undo her surgery.

You'll also need a new shirt and jacket as well"

She walks over to Samuel Wolf and smiles broadly.

"Samuel Wolf, i believe we had a deal"

"I'll try not to undo the surgery" He smiled lightly

"But, my duty is to my men and if they go back... I'll want to go. But I'm not sure if i will."

Fredrick took a step forward

"Samuel, if you go back down in your current condition i may have to smack you"

Samuel looked at Fredrick with a smile "Even in my current state you know your no match for me,"

Nomi chuckles and says "Samuel san you agreed to dinner once this business planetside was sorted out. i'm still holding you to that"

Ari answers her comm badge and gets back to Jacob.

"now everyone is off the planet wouldn't it be a good idea to deploy the weapon before they realise that somethings up" she says

"... It is done."

The runes on the ground burned brightly with purple flames. The flames grew stronger and stronger and soon began to spread, but the flames did not burn anything in their wake. No, everything that was alive simply began to decay instead. They were unholy flames from the Underworld itself, beckoning the dead.

The Censor shrieked and suddenly it seemed as though the whole surroundings were moving, as the Wights had begun running towards the growing circle. They had only so much time to enter its perimeter, as portals such as this could not be maintained for extended periods of time.

And soon... They were gone, roaming upon the paths of the Underworld, going towards one of the many beacons made by the Ashen Empire for its own to find their way through the vastness of space. The only thing showing that they had ever even been on the planet was a circle of oddly decayed plantlife.

Nomi chuckles and says "Samuel san you agreed to dinner once this business planetside was sorted out. i'm still holding you to that"

Ari answers her comm badge and gets back to Jacob.

Samuel looked at Nomi and felt himself go red.

He had never met a women like her before.

"I'll be going," Fredrick turned and walked out giving Samuel a wink as he left.

Samuel looked back at Nomi, "They wont send the men back down for another 72 hours, maybe we should have dinner tonight?"

Jacob Nodded at Ari. "Prepare yourself"

He turned to his chief ensign

"Begin"

The ensign nodded "Sir!"

All the ships in the Neoman fleet fired everything simultaneously, Barrages of Nukes, HE rounds, and Beams of blue hot plasma streaked for the Enemy ship
.2 seconds after the main Salvo was fired the 2 ton Anti-Matter bomb flew out of a Salvo tube and streaked toward the Ship.

The Beams hit fist, Creating ocean of Blue plasma eating away at the shield.

The Nukes, Missiles, and Shells struck the shield exactly where the plasma hit. There combined explosion produced a dip on the 4m Shield.

Before the dip could repair itself the demon struck the dip.

The Explosion was horrendous, Matter and Antimatter blinking in to nothingness creating a blast that was un naturally barbaric.

On the Bridge the some of the crew cheered.

The the shock wave struck the fleet.

The "Juggernaut" Shock ferociously, Sparks flew from the instruments.

"How is she holding!"

"Shields down 50% some of the Shock wave went threw, No structure damage."

Ari grips the arms of the comamnd chair and holds on tight, knowing the Kagemon was built to take punishment.

"Raise shields and hull plating" she orders "now"

on the Kagemon

Nomi gives Frederick a look as he leaves and manages a smile.

"I don't usually have that effect on men" she tells Samuel as her orders come through.

"hang onto something. things may get rough" she adds as the shockwave passes over the neaoman flagship and hits the kagemon shaking it around and knocking Dr Abe and her nurse to the floor

Ari grips the arms of the command chair and holds on tight, knowing the Kagemon was built to take punishment.

Samuel got off the bed and went over to Dr. Abe and the Nurse he took a hand from both of them and lifted them up of the floor.

He was use to pain, but he didn't realize how bad he hurt until after they both were off the floor.

He hobbled over to the bed and managed to sit down.

He could see that she was startled but unhurt.

The Enemy space ship was still there, But a gigantic hole was in its super structure, looking like someone took a cup and used the rim to cut off a piece.

There was no debis from the ship, but it was to be expected seeing as how all the available matter had been blinked out of existence.

The ship tilted off axis and began to roll.

"This is the Delta 4r Scout craft, or Spanker as some of the men call it. It can hold 6 People in the back, not counting the Pilot and the Navigator.

It cant jump as far or as fast as we could, it max range is only about 15 light years but its allot more versatile then having a Dante or a GI to jump take a picture and jump away..."

He paused and looked at his men. And whispered to Ari "Most of them are only 16 to 25, just kids. God knows how many i sent to there death, Kids, Ari. There just F***ing kids."

He looked at Ari and tried to manage a smile.

Having a young military isn't sad. its just the way it is. We lose a lot of our female crew once they get married or settle down to have families and theres only our eager young people coming up to fill the gaps"

Ari enters the elevator again and sits down thoughtfully. If she had been in Jacobs shoes she wouldn't have been burdened with the pilots deaths. they had died honourably doing their duty and that is the best accolade you could give them.

theres no natural asteroids to build defences on so we'll need ships stationed there permanently and those ships need a base to keep them resupplied and maintained.

However we do it it'll be hard work and expensive. Ground defences would be easier to build but they won't be able to knock out a target in orbit.

With the various hostile races and pirate bands out their leaving Unity without a planetary defence would be suicide"

He bent down and kissed her lovingly.

Nomi gets a tent and sleeping bag from the shuttlecraft and pops up the dome tent before pegging it down and disapearing into it.

She studies her scans by lamp light before having a nap on top off the sleeping bag.

The young guard stays alert keeping watch and nods to Samuel before going on a perimiter patrol.

the dusk turns into darkness and Koyuri gets some lanterns from the shuttle to illuminate the perimiter. She also sets up a portable heater.

Nomi wakes up after an hour and joins Samuel at the heater.

"now all we need is some sticks and marshmallows" she says gently sitting close to the heater.

Jacob stood on the bridge awaiting any kind of news.

Suddenly an Alarm Klaxon hooted and he felt the pull of a gravity signature...

"Sir! Hyperspace worm opening... Its the Marines!"

On the view screen the blue green worm hole opened up and 4 ships obviously troop transports charged threw... All four had an emblem painted on the side. The emblem was of a scythe and a wolfs Head...

"S***" Jacob cursed lightly under his breath.

Nomi unholsters her pistol but Koyuri is already alert.

"there must be something out there" Nomi says "but theres been no lifesigns"

she gets to her feet and tries to look into the darkness.

Back on Kagemon's bridge Ari heard her tactical officer make the report of 4 more ships.

Samuel began to walk away from them, into the darkness.

He picked up the comm. and opened a privet channel to Ari.

"Its the Mariens... but its the Hunter/Killer sect. Coordist fanatics. This isn't going to be good."

He took a breath.

"Samuels ex is the commander of that company..."

"OK Samuel but if you don't come back i'll have your hide" she calls back and heads back to prep the shuttle for take off.

She stows the tent and camping gear into the shuttlecraft and leaving only the perimiter lights on.

Samuel crept threw the dark jungle. He had been in there for at leas 30 minutes

His lights barley giving him a 5 meter sight radius.

Another loud cry came from directly behind him.

He spun and fired three blasts from his shot gun.

Whatever it was it dodged and tackled him and started to rip at his bullet proof chest plate.

It growled and roared furiously.

Samuel shoved his shot gun into the stomach of the beast and pulled the trigger.

The creature fell limp and a shower of blood rained down on him.

He rolled the beast of of him and inspected it.

He hesitated to cal it a dog, but it was dog like only bigger, coarse grey and black all over. It wasn't like the creatures they first encountered...

He looked down and saw his brest plate... It was in shreds but he wasn't hurt.

He raised the Blue flair above his head an pulled the trigger.

Ari replies over the comm channel "if they try anything with us we'll knock them out of the sky ourselves. thats a promise Jacob. Us Kirisuban's don't take kindly to being fired on"

The forest behind him crashed and 13 doglike creatures charged out after him.

"10m, 7m, 5, 2," Samuel told himself, the new creatures gaining on him.

He grabbed Nomi by the shoulder and threw her inside. He stepped in, turned
and pumped started pumping round after round threw the hatch.

"NOMI GO GO GO!!!"

"Ari, could you use that transport beam to get over here if we dropped the shields?"

The door to the bridge slid open and three marines walked threw, one obviously a women.

"Sir, were are ready for your orders..."

Ari returns a smile and introduces herself to the commander of the marines.

Ari was not one to be outdone by anyone especially another woman..

He turned back to Amy who was scanning the bridge with her eyes.

"Something you need?" Jacob asked

"Samuel, i want to talk to Samuel."

Ari walks with Amy to the sick bay and hits the opening button to find Samuel talking with Dr Abe, her nurse and a guard.

"Major, there he is" Ari says "he was injured on the planet and had to have surgery but he will recover fully given time"

she nods to Koyuri who still has her PPW rifle on a stun setting.

she then turns to Dr Abe and asks in Kirisuban "whats been going on here?"

she hits a few buttons and takes the scans. soon Samuel can see his chest area on a screen above the chamber.

"the intestines have started to heal a little" she says pointing them out "but theres a long way to go until you can run round in a firefight again"

thinking it may be a good idea to have aircover during the first phase she opens up a blank file and records some of her thoughts there.

one shuttle would be patroling round the construction area and another could be dropping off and setting up motion detectors once their locations were plotted.

Still not having solved the problem of scanning for the creatures she hits her comm badge and gets her chief engineer up to her quarters for a chat.

Ari gets dressed and she talks with him about modifiying the scanners to act as motion detectors.

He concedes tha the idea has merit and they work on Ari's own scanner to built a prototype.
