The former Republican Republic of Great Romeo, consisting of the states of Costa Rica, Serbia, Romania, and Russia, is now known as the United Socialist States of Great Romeo (USSGR). The Senate still exists, but one member of the Senate is chosen as the Secretary General of the Senate of the United Socialist States of Great Romeo, who rules in consultation with the Senate. The current Secretary General is Milan Srecko. The creation of a more direct government style was deemed necessary due to certain domestic issues.

Today the Fuji Heavy Industries will be producing the Boeing AH-64D Longbow and Fuji has said that they will be producing AH-64D not only for Japan but it will also produce the AH-64D for the South Korean Army and is hoping for the first Longbow's to the first Japanese Army Aviation Squadron and South Korean Army Aviation Squadron with the next 6 to 8 months. The Fuji Heavy Industries hope to replace all the aging AH-1's for both the South Korean Army and Japanese Army.

OCC: From the looks of it, this American War or whatever name it has is not going anywhere anytime soon, so here is it’s FIN [END]. As very little has happen during the conflict I couldn’t exactly incorporate it into the history of my nation(s) or yours for that matter. While, at the same time I couldn’t exactly ignore what little has happened. I also, had to take into account conflicts of interest. Hence, I came up with the following solution. Before, I state what that solution is I would like to make clear that whether you agree with the outcome or not, I consider the matter closed. I am moving on and while, I may edit this post to address concerns any of you might raise, I will not be making any more posts after this post concerning this particular war.

If anyone, wants to have a war with me or anyone else for that matter in the future, I hope the following will be cleared up ahead of time, in addition to other factors that I have left out or arise before a player vs player conflict starts...


All outstanding Roleplays of the percipients have been finished.
All percipients are sure for at least the next few weeks/months that will be active at least once a week. Furthermore, they are sure they will be able to get a post up once a week concerning their moves.
An easy method of calculating losses is assessable to all members or some type of understanding between the various percipients is reached about calculating their own losses.
At least two active war mods are approved ahead of time to oversee the results and address any concerns the percipients raise.


Now with that all said, the solution I came up with was to have this war be a simulated tactical/strategic warfare scenario that was conducted deep in the bowls of the Republic’s military headquarters. I have included where possible what you all posted during the brief war. Hence, the war happen and yet at the same time it hasn’t happen. It is my hope that the solution I have come up with strikes a balance between what a war between the Republic, the Sharina Technocracy and the Vineyard Empire would have looked like while at the same time causing no undo harm to our nations and thereby creating conflict of interests.

The Build Up: As a possible war between the Sharinan and Vineyardian people edged ever closer, a be prepared attitude began to develop among the various member nations of the Republic. What would a war be like given the capabilities of all three nations? Should the Republic adapt a purely defensive stance, an offensive stance or a mix of both? What advantages did the Republic have, what were it’s disadvantages? What advantages did the Sharina Technocracy and the Empire of Vineyard have, what were it’s disadvantages given the knowledge of their forces and political background? To answer all these questions and more, the various military figures of the Republic got together and began one of the most elaborate wargames ever assembled. Even what seemed to be the most minuscule of details was recorded and factored in. The war had begun, but who would win remained to be answered!

The Ground War: Though, most of the war would be fought in the air and on and under the seas. The ground war did see it’s piece of the action, with the majority of it being fought in Northern South America and all along the Eastern Caribbean with the rest located in Southern South America, Southern Europe and in the Eastern Pacific. In the opening weeks of the war, the start of what would be the focal point of the war developed all along the Colombian-Venezuelan border. During, those opening weeks the Sharinan military had launched a full scale invasion of Venezuela and the Eastern Caribbean Islands held by the Republic. As two-hundred and fifty thousand Sharinan troops poured into western Venezuela, the size and scope of the operation had caught many of those in the Republic by surprise.

Though, the Venezuelan Army had a limited numerical superiority in the region compared to it’s rival the Sharinan military. This one area in superiority the Republic had over the Sharinan military would in the end last only a few months as the advantages of the Sharinan’s Air superiority, Naval superiority and greater population base took it’s toll. Further, weakening it’s numerical superiority was the war of attrition that developed as the Venezuelan armed forces were slowly, but steadily pushed back towards the Guyana-Brazilian border. With the final months of the land war in South America, turning from a slow retreat into a major route as the Sharinans at last achieved a major breakthrough. By the end of the first year of the war, the only major strongholds the Republic had left in Northern South American were on the Islands of Trinidad and Tobago and in the hills and river valleys of Venezuela and Guyana.

While, the war waged in Venezuela-the Republic saw the slow systemic loss of it’s Caribbean holdings from the few Islands in had in the Leeward Islands to those in the Windward Islands, Aruba and the rest of the Lesser Antilles. The ground war in Southern South American, meanwhile saw little to no action due to it’s geographic isolation and the tremendous losses both sides had suffered in manpower and material with an estimated loss of around three-hundred thousand for each side not including the loss in civilian lives. On the other side of the Atlantic, the war in Southern Europe took on the image of the tides as it’s flow ebb back and forth. The Vineyardians launching a invasion of the Baleares Islands, capturing the main islands of Mallorca and Menorca, and eventually losing control of them as the Republic from it’s bases in the two remaining Baleares Islands and from mainland Spain launched a counter-invasion. This cycle repeating as the Republic launched repeated invasions of parts of Italy, getting expelled and the Vineyardians following with their own invasion of mainland Spain or in some cases the re-invasion of the Baleares Islands and themselves getting expelled. With neither side able to make any headway, a long war of attrition set in with each side trying to counter the other in a game of never ending chess with neither side able to gain an advantage over the other.

As in all wars, each side launched operations in hoped would win the war in their favor, but in hindsight turned out to be doomed to failure. During, the early stages of the war the Vineyardians had launched a large invasion of the United Netherlands with an entire battlegroup with over 70,000 personnel. What seemed to many in the Republic to be a bold and reckless plan, if everything had worked as planned would in all likelihood have saw the Netherlands knocked out of the war for good, however it was not to be. While, the opening invasion was a shock to the Republic that the Vineyardians would even contemplate such an operation. The invasion itself was no surprise to those involved in the planning to defend the United Netherlands in case of an invasion. While, an invasion by the Vineyardians had never been foreseen, a possible war between the United Netherlands and The Great Sixth Reich however unlikely had been planned for and training had been accordingly. During, the first few hours of the invasion it was mistaking believed that The Great Sixth Reich was the one attacking, but once it was properly determined that it was instead the Vineyardians, the same plans developed in case of invasion from Germany and TGSR were put into effect to deal with the Vineyardians.

With the majority of it’s troops already based along the German border, the same disadvantages the Republic had in the closing days of the war in Venezuela were revisited upon the Vineyardians to the same devastating effect. Within weeks, the Vineyardians had lost an entire battlegroup. That however was not the worse of it, the political fallout both within the Vineyardian military command structure and the tensions that arose between The Great Sixth Reich would continue to plague the Empire of Vineyard long after the war. While, not as disastrous as the Vineyardian invasion of the United Netherlands, the Republican invasion of Hawaii also met with a disastrous end as the Republic’s lost in men and material resulted in the gain of nothing, but in throwing the Republican war effort into chaos for weeks.

The Air War: Before, the ground war had even got under way the Republic found it self in a fight for it’s life in the skies above Venezuela, the Kingdom of Iberia and the United Netherlands. All told, the Sharinan military had launched a massive air campaign with aircraft numbering in the thousands. At the most, the Republic only had at it’s disposal a few hundred fighters for air defense in each of the theater of operations with the majority concentrated in key outposts throughout Europe. Once the Vineyardians joined the war against the Republic a few days later and brought their force of over ten thousand fighters and bombers into the mix, the Republic found itself on a two front war heavily outgunned and outmanned. It was at this point that the Republic made it’s greatest mistake of the war, by deciding to concentrate all available resources against the war with the Empire of Vineyard, the fate of Venezuela and the Eastern Caribbean had been sealed.

With it’s attention diverted towards Italy and the Vindyardians it was only a matter of weeks, before the Sharinan military finally gained Air Superiority and through this was finally able to push the Republican military out of Venezuela. With the loss of it’s strategic oil reserves, it wasn’t long before the resources of the Republic become strained and the strategic options available to the Republic becoming ever more limited as the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months. Further, adding to the woes of the Republic was the constant bombing raids on the industrial centers of the Republic. With no long range bombers of it’s own, the Republic had no way to responded in kind with it’s own bombing runs. As, the leaders and people of the Republic slowly watched their cities and towns turn to rubble the enemy sat for the most part safely untouched by the war. By the end of the war, the Republic had for the most part reached the end of it’s line. The Republic had lost the air war and for that it sat as a demoralized and defeated foe.

The War at Sea: By all accounts the war at sea got underway and unfolded in a similar way the war at sea had run it’s course during the opening years of World War Two. With most of the action focused in and around the North Atlantic and by extension the Caribbean Sea/Gulf of Mexico and the Mediterranean Sea. While conflict did take place in other parts of the world’s oceans for most of the war it was confined to the North Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea. The Sharinan Navy proved the toughest in combating and the Republic was never truly able to counter the massive firepower of the Sharinan Navy through it’s Battleships, Aircraft Carriers, Cruisers, Destroyers and Nuclear Powered Attack subs. The advanced Virginia Class subs of the Sharinan Navy proving the most troublesome as they roam up and down the European coast sinking anything bearing the flag of the Republic. In the Caribbean Sea, the massive Sharinan Fleet numbering in the thousands soon made it’s mark felt as it bombarded both from the air and from the sea the lands of the Republic. Finally, launching when the time was right a massive seaborne invasion of the Republican controlled islands in the Caribbean. Like the air war, the Republic fought as hard as it could, but through a war of attrition it’s navy was finally ground down to a pulp.

Meanwhile, in the Mediterranean the Republic was fearing much better. With the Vineyardians have no large capital ships like Battleships or Aircraft Carriers and few if any major warships to speak of as the Vineyardians had concentrated most of their military resources on their Air Force. It wasn’t long before almost the entire Western Mediterranean was in the hands of the Republic. Through this control, the Republic was able to launch massive invasions of the Italian coast with little to no warning. Still, while the Vineyardians had neglected their Navy, their Army and Air Force was at it’s prime and proved to tough of a nut to crack and as a result the Republic was never able to fully establish a bridgehead on the Italian coast. Still, while the Republic was able to gain control of the Mediterranean this advantage had little to no effect on the outcome of the war. And so it went back and forth for nearly a year between the Republic and the Empire of Vineyard, before both sides agreed to a cease fire and eventually after a few rounds of hard negations and a little more fighting; a Peace Treaty.

The End: Though the war against the Empire of Vineyard had ended, the war against the Sharina Technocracy raged on for another few months as the Sharina military launched an invasion of Argentina to complete it’s goal of completely removing any and all influence of the Republic from South America. It was through it’s invasion of Argentina, that the Sharina armed forces finally bit off more then they could chew. Confident of their superiority over the Republic in Venezuela through their technology, many in the Sharina government now saw an easy victory in Argentina if they only continued the fight. Blinded by the truth, overestimating their abilities and underestimated the Republic’s- a massive force descended upon Argentina. However, unlike Venezuela, Argentina shared no land border with any territory in the Sharina Technocracy. With only a seaborne invasion giving any hope of allowing the Sharina military to get a foothold in Argentina, the Sharina military assembled a massive fleet not seen since the days of World War Two. Yet, even with it’s massive numerical and technology superiority over the Republic, the successful invasion and conquest of Argentina was not to be.

With mother nature working against them and fighting in terrain and weather they had never encountered before or trained for, a massive Republican force struck back. At the same time, the war in Venezuela had shifted from a conventional one to an unconventional one. The Sharina military now found itself fighting on two fronts and in two different types of wars. It wasn’t long before the leaders of the Sharina government realized that if they were to keep what they had achieved in Venezuela, some sort of agreement needed to be reached with the Republic. It wasn’t long after this realization, that the war to end all wars finally came to an end. And yet, the tensions that had resulted in the war still remained strong and along with it the possibility of another war.

Summary: After, examining the multiple outcomes of a possible war-the following conclusions began to be implemented into policy changes to give the Republic every advantage possible during a war against either the Sharina Technocracy, the Empire of Vineyard or both.

A few months after the exercise came to an end, a declassified version of the original report summary issued to all high level military commanders was released to the public. Only initiatives that had not become public in the months leading up to or after the exercise were released. The following is a declassified version of the above report summary.

1. The first and foremost lessen taken from the scenarios was that if a real war were ever to break out, even a small one between even one of above parties, almost the entire world would be drawn in and consumed by chaos as the intricate series of alliances of each nation kicked in.

2. The second and most valuable lessen learned during the exercise was that without a long range bomber of their own, the Republic would be at a severe disadvantage. Hence, the development of the Eurobomber-a European version of the Sharinan B1B.

8. The terrain in Venezuela was conductive to light infantry and not armored warfare. For this reason, a number of Venezuelan armored divisions would be disbanded and replaced with infantry divisions, regiments or special forces teams.

9. A continuation on number 1, one factor not taken into account during the exercise would be the role the various allies of each nation would play. Specially, that of the EATO alliance and the BS alliance between the Empire of Vineyard and the Republic of Great Romeo.

OCC2: As I said at the beginning, this is my last post concerning any part of the war and as such if need be I will edit this post as necessary. If, you wish to add something or find fault with something, please don’t just tell me what it is. Take what you have a problem with and rewrite it, making sure that it makes sense when combined with the rest of the paragraph as a whole. The same goes for if you wish to see something added, write up what you want added whether it be just a sentence or an entire paragraph so all I pretty much have to do is copy and paste. News from the United Kingdoms Foreign Office:

Today the Government of Ghana has asked to start talks with the Foreign Minister to bring Ghana back into the Commonwealth with the protection and fruits of the United Kingdoms. The Foreign Minister will set up a meeting with the Ghana Foreign Minister to bring Ghana back into the Commonwealth as a Crown Colony as it was on before.

The Government of Sierra Leone is looking into being a British Protectorate and Crown Colony. The British Government is looking into the matter as a valid offer and is going to be talking to the Governments of Ghana and Sierra Leone about this choice of their Governments.

Today as troops from the 51th Scottish Brigade and 38th Irish Infantry Brigade have moved into the Northern Ireland to regain control over the area before moving on to help bring the rest of the war torn Ireland into the Commonwealth again.

Troops from the Royal Marines 45 Commando were airlifted to Hong Kong to bring it back into the United Kingdoms also a A Company of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders to the British Indian Ocean Territory to also bring the territory back under British control again.

News from the French Foreign Office:

To the Government of Guinea has begin talks with the French Government to bring Guinea back under the protection of the French Government. The talks are that Guinea be renamed the French Guinea they will have self governing abilities but will have there military for self defense and to put down civil unrest but they will also have to provide military force to the French Army.

The Monocratic Office of Aviation announced today that full flight service has been resumed to all areas affected by the war.

Under policy of the new Emir Aziz, all current foreign relations are currently under review to determine if any and all present treaties serve in the best interests of the Emirate. Any outstanding treaties that have expired that do not serve Emirate interests will be terminated promptly; those that have not expired will be permitted to expire and then terminated. We apologize to all in advance, as the Emirate consolidates its foreign policy requirements following what appears to be a devastating war.

The meeting between the British Foreign Minister and the Foreign Ministers from Sierra Leone and Ghana about their being placed back into the United Kingdom’s Commonwealth and allowed to keep a Prime Minister and working elected government in place and then have a Governor General appointed be the Crown as the Crown sees fit. They worked out that they will be allowed better health care and other matters such as education befits, as well as the protection of the British Military as well as there own military forces to be added into the British Military. They will be given British Citizenship as well as to keep there own nations citizenship. Well there were some concerns about the treatment of their citizens in the United Kingdoms because of leaving the Commonwealth once before and now with nations out expanding they worried about harassment and even stronger crimes against their people. The British Foreign Minister stated that the British People as well as the United Citizen’s Federation is looking forward to welcoming their nations into the fold and to help them out anyway that they could.

Because of the nature of the meeting between the British Foreign Minister and the Sierra Leone and Ghana Foreign Ministers. The Foreign Ministers had to get the ok of their Parliaments of all three nations.

Today it is with a warm joy that I announce the Governments of Sierra Leone and Ghana have be allowed to rejoin the United Kingdom with full rights for all that live in these nations as British Citizens. The Governments of each nation will appoint a ten member delegation to the House of Commons. The Crown has seen fit to also announce the Presidents of both nations will be granted the title of Earl and will also be knight in the Order of the British Empire.
The Letters Patents for both men was drawn up by Her Majesty’s Government for them to assume the Office of Governor General of both nations.

John Agyekum Kufuor will be know as Earl of Ghana and will be the first Governor General of the Commonwealth of Ghana.

Ernest Bai Koroma will be know as Earl of Sierra Leone and will be the first Governor General of the Commonwealth of Sierra Leone.

Today the French Foreign Minister and the Guinea Foreign Minister meet today to sign the final agreements to bring the nation of Guinea back into the French Empire as French Guinea. Guinea will become an Administrative Division with the same rights as all other Administrative Divisions in the French Empire. All the Guinea Citizens will become French Citizens also so they will be able to have duel citizenship. They will be represented in the French Parliament which is the French Senate and the French National Assembly. Also the Guinea Military will keep their military as long as it swears an oath of loyalty to the French People. The Guinea Nation will also produce military units for the French Army which if the nation would like they could send a unit from there nation military to serve in the French Army. The French Government will provide Guinea with a large amount of medical, food and fuel supplies for joining the French Empire again. There were a few problems about civil unrest and conflicts with the current opposition in the Guinea Government but all was put down when the French Government asked for members of the Guinea Opposition and Guinea Tribes to join in the talks so that the whole nation is agreeing with this choice. So, have long talks with all parties to deal with this matter the French Government have released a statement:

“The French Government with the Guinea Government is proud to say that the nation of Guinea is joining the French Nation again and will be brought into the 21st Century with improvements in all fields of growth. The two governments have spent many months talking about the people of Guinea joining the French people as brothers and sisters for the benefit of both nations’ people. Election for new members of French Parliament will be held in two months. We are looking forward to happiness for our two nations. Thank you very much and have good day.”
That statement was released by the French Foreign Ministry.

On other news 51st Scottish Brigade was sent to help the Headquarters Northern Ireland. The 51st will be attached to the HQ Northern Ireland to start moving into the nation of Ireland to help bring the Irish nation back under peace and also to bring it back in the loving arms of the British Empire. Lieutenant General Nicholas Ralph Parker, CBE has been tasked to talk with Lieutenant General Dermot Earley about the state of his nation’s military personnel and the transfer of the Irish Defense Forces into the command of the Northern Ireland Headquarters to start an Irish Headquarters. The reason for talking with the Irish Chief of Staff is because if the two military forces on Ireland can work together then the rest of the nation will take this as a good sign and will give into joining the British Empire again. As the two military forces work its way down to Dublin the British Government has named General Earley the Military Governor of the Ireland until further notice. The Irish Chief of Staff has signed agreement with the British Government to turn over power once everything with civil unrest has been quailed on order has been restored to the nation.

The Royal Marines 45 Commandos have rerouted to Hong Kong to bring the Crown of the Orient back in the British Empire. OCC: I'd advise against sending Peacekeepers in unless you plan to annex the whole nation into your sphere of influence and I highly doubt you'd be able to do that with what India having over 1.1 billion people and a massive military. So, unless your going to try to annex India I see no point in invading India as that's what it would be seen as, an invasion.

Yesterday the nation of North Korea has used a low grade nuclear weapon on the Najin Naval Base and has not only destroyed the surrounding area but has also hurt the North Korean people. The Commander in Chief of the United Citizen's Federation Sky Marshal in Chief James MacKenzie has authorized the release of Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Weapons. The Chemical and Biological Weapons are to be released only if they are used on the Military Forces of the United Citizen's Federation. Also Nuclear Weapons have been authorized to be used on targets that the UCF has seen fit. We are informing the rest of the world that the war in North Korea has moved from conventional to a Nuclear warfare. And from this point the military forces have been told to begin wearing their NBC suits and that all Nuclear Weapons that North Korea has to be destroyed by any means. The UCF has authorized the creation of more military forces to help the military forces in the Korean Warzone to help the forces out there.

The Emirate deplores the use of these weapons on such a whim.

The agents contemplated the ALM briefing for a moment. Afterwards, the agents briefly reviewed the operation for the last time, in Latin (the language of all Monocratic intelligence agencies).

They were to blend into the populace as normal Arab citizens in Djibouti. The agents' fluency in Arabic (natively) and French (near-native), as well as ethnicity as Arabs and status as (Sunni) Muslims, helped maintain the deception. They were to follow a normal routine similar to the other residents.

However, they obviously did not intend on doing nothing but living a civilian life. During times when the streets were crowded, two agents were to inspect suspected locations, while able to communicate with one agent in the vicinity with a car. Certain locations would be bugged with miniature video cameras.

At all times, they would be armed and able to communicate with the MND through a front company.

The agents arrived in their temporary safe house between the European Quarter and the Central Market of the city of Djibouti, after buying a cheap nondescript automobile on the streets. Upon entering the safe house, they tacitly scanned every inch of the safe house for signs of any bugs. After the safe house had been secured, the agents rigged the house with their own bugs, which were to be broadcast in real-time to MND intelligence analysts back in Germany, in order to ensure that no one intruded while they were away.

Ghazwan and Sabri left the safe house on foot as previously planned; Ayham, the intellectual collection commander, left in the newly acquired car. Ghazwan and Sabri would travel individually to each of the suspected locations escape locations that were provided in the ALM briefing. At each location, the agent would shoot with a special device a miniature camera onto a high surface, which would broadcast information in real-time back to the MND and could remotely be ordered to self-destruct if necessary. Sabri briefly smiled after thinking of the plan; the MND certainly had a large budget, he thought. Meanwhile, Ayham would inspect the locations in his car.

The French Government today is going to be announcing that the great-great-great-great-grandnephew of Napoleon Bonaparte will be named as the new Emperor of France and the formation of the Third French Empire. Hey all.

I'm still lurking and around. Although I have been swamped with a lot of RL problems as of the past couple of months. For one thing, my college workload was much more than I thought it would be, and I'm having a couple of medical issues. I have gallstones and a ruptured blood vein in my right eye so that means plenty of doctor appointments, hospital stays, surgeries, etc.

So you can imagine, with all of that going on plus no recent TG's about any new exciting RP's in Earth V, my activity at NS has pretty much been non-existent. Besides, I can't really find the motivation to RP in NS other than Earth V because *ALL* the good RP's I'm in end up dieing out because of inactivity or players aren't into *real* RP'ing like characters, story, politics, etc.

Ah well. I'll always call Earth V my home on NS, and I'll always be around for whatever new and exciting RP's Earth V gets going. Please, I beg you, keep me updated via TG's and such if there's any Earth V activity and any interesting Earth V RP's I could participate in.

OOC: Your press release in response was quite impressive. ;) But the Monocracy won't respond officially, not only because it does not not official recognize the PRC, but also (and mainly) because it does not have to respond to the "rhetoric of 'lower' states." Plus, an unofficial statement is just as powerful, given the immense economic, military, and political power that the Monocracy has in the world (Chinese television, on the other hand, could go unnoticed at this point on Earth V).

Deputy Minister of Defense Zbigniew Kazimierz Chechlinski showed up as scheduled on the late-night show Der Reichstag [OOC: It's not real, so don't look it up!]. After some jokes playing off of the media constantly mentioning his being at "an undisclosed location in the Monocracy," the host asked him about the harsh wording of the PRC response. A naturally funny man, Chechlinski presented the PRC release as absolutely ludicrous, being sure to note Ming's lack of knowledge of geography (the Great Sixth Reich has a vested interest in Asia due to its possession of East Timor, along with the Midway Islands and the Maldives), but more importantly the hypocrisy: marching an army to take over another after issuing an ultimatum is "a peaceful takeover" that is "beneficial," while those who call for the two sides to enter an agreement volitionally are "criminals" who are against "diplomacy means," despite what the Monocracy advising the PRC to doing being diplomacy by definition.

General Gianni Geronimo was a busy man. Ever since the collapse of the central government, his division and others that took the liberty of calling themselves to duty had been ruling odd chunks of Italy. Chunks being only odd sections of Italy. While his government had the support of the lower masses and seculars, some Catholic elites had taken over odd sections of the country. Milan and the Vatican had broken away under religions leadership. When it happened at first, the already stressed army sent a patrol into both to see what was going on. Since they had not been heard from, and since the announcement of the Military Junta in France, they had surrounded both cities and began shelling it; although the Vatican was close to collapse. The Swiss Guard were giving a valiant fight, to be sure, but they were taking too many Provisional Soldiers with them. Hence why he was busy.

It would not be too much of a stretch to call Gen. Gianni Geronimo's "nation" a more brutal throwback to the Vineyardian Dictatorship times, but it was necessary in the mind of Gen. Geronimo. The society had ceased following the laws of the government after it had collapsed, and a special committee of local representatives had so far failed to agree on any singular legal system. So while they debated fruitlessly, Gen. Geronimo was forced to suppress any dissent, crime, and separatist actions with the strongest actions possible. But that was proving difficult. As the police forces had deteriorated from desertions, the Italian Provisional Army had to replace them.

The results were... dissatisfying. With security weaker than normal, something called the 'Free press" had snuck in and revealed what was going on. They even caught footage of a robbery in Venice that was not handled "properly". Essentially, a patrol had luckily been passing a Venician bank when it was being robbed, the proceeded to brutally suppress the robbers. To make a long story short, a RPG was used, along with a high-caliber Machine gun attacked to one of their patrol's Armored Personnel Carriers to "Clear" The front lobby. In spite of their success in stopping the robbery, they had killed (Accidentally, Gen. Geronimo would insist) 21 civilians and bank workers in the process. This drew attention from all over the world to their situation. Gen. Geronimo, being the good-intentioned man he was, had then decided to stop the free press. First he asked nicely. Then imprisonments began, dead foreign reporters started to surface, and even the citizens began to clamor for a stronger government.

Perhaps that’s why the catholic movement spread. While they had seized control of Milan and the Vatican City, there were insurgencies in progress from what was projected to be about 5% of the populace. Gen. Geronimo has mobilized the TO's, and then vigilante violence had started. Then TO's had 'declined' to disarm, instead forming something they called the 'Defense Council" which had then send Gen. Geronimo 'Recommendations' that essentially told him what he should do.

Gen. Geronimo was not a politician. In fact, he prided himself on that, and promptly ignored anything political. After all, he had a Catholic uprising to suppress and a brutal terrorist insurgency to destroy. The Defense Council was a tool to be used, so he promptly agreed with everything they asked for. Food, protection, training, legal this, legal that. It was boring, but necessary to use their roving bands of TO's against the Catholics.

And boy, was that keeping him busy.

As for MC's declaration, he was ticked. He knew it would be difficult to repell the invaders depending on where they came from. The Alpine TO and the small border force had been put on alert, but they would only delay the enemy. The Cathloics were essentially turning to MC to prevent an inevitable defeat. And the Pope had defied the Vineyardians for the last time (Gen. Geronimo still considered himself a servent of the Empire, in spite of its partial collapse). When caught, he will pay...

Perhaps the most surprising thing he had heard was the claim that there was an Italian Prime Minister. There had not been one for Years... Centuries perhaps. It was clear the MC was using its comparitive friendliness with the International press to propogate what-ever-the-hell-it-wanted-to the press. Well, he thought, reality does not reflect fantasy. MC was in for a rude awakening.

I have a Earth V Military Budget of $4,255,071,607,471.10 and I have a total combined military force of 17,904,411 military personal that is both the Active and Reserve Forces in all the UCF. Active Forces are 8,952,205 and 8,952,205 for the Reserve Forces.

So, I think that I have the forces for the new naval forces that I am building.

Tuesday evening, Black Guard patrols apprehended a News Reporter from The Great Sixth Reich attempting to leave the capitol city of Olympia and enter the forbidden zone in order to capture footage of alleged civil rights violations. The incident has people the world over on edge; both countries are nuclear armed, and The Karond Kari Board of Directors has previously displayed little to no reluctance using such devices, even against its own citizens. The normal punishment in Karond Kar for such an offense is flaying, although international lawyers maintain that the Karond Kari legal code only has provisions for crimes committed by human capital, and that the TG6R citizen is therefore immune to this. The Board has stated that it will deliberate on the matter before coming to a conclusion.

General Gianni Geronimo rules Italy with an iron fist, and Geronimo and the IPG military have shown repeatedly that they will violate international law flagrantly and breach human rights to attempt subjugate the Italian populace to Vineyardian hard-liner rule, even if it means slaughtering innocent Catholics and destroying sacred religious sites.

We are issuing a warning to Gianni Geronimo, which will have already sent, that he must respond within three hours to our request that he disband his psychopathic personally henchmen -- what is called the "IPG military," but really are Vineyardian hard-liners not representative of the Italian people -- and agree to convene a meeting to set up a constitution to establish a new government. He is a not a legitimate ruler; rather, he is a corrupt opportunist ruling his people through a government that neither the international community nor his own people recognize as legitimate. If he does responds in the negative or does not reply to our request, we shall work to pass a resolution in the United Nations Security Council to declare him a war criminal.

Peace and stability in Italy is a matter of international concern. The lack of a legitimate government in Italy is a threat to the peace and security to our border region and of grave concern to the international community; we will not stand by idly as the human rights of millions of human beings are violated.

If General Geronimo does not respond favorably within three hours, we give authorization for the use of deadly force to stop the Vineyardian terrorists.

SIC:

The 13th and 16th Bomb Squadrons -- 12 B-2 bombers each, the 13th Bomb Squadron armed with one GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb each, the 16th Bomb Squadron with 16 BLU-109 bombs each -- based at the secret base in the Bavarian Alps (a sealed off portion near Zugspitze) took off and appeared to head toward the Monocracy's naval patrols near southern Sardinia. Thirty minutes later, one squadron of Tornado ECR aircraft from an air base in northern Bavaria followed the same flight path. Around that time, A380 military transports -- loaded with a total of 30 Leopard 2E main battle tanks and 60 Puma infantry fighting vehicles with their crews, in addition to one A380 containing 10 ATF Dingos with a MND special operations detachment -- also took off from around the Czech Republic, Germany, and Poland at times to arrange themselves in an aerial convoy. All aircraft headed to meet up off the western coast of Italy.

In addition, 1,500 Puma IFVs, 300 Raketenwerfer MARS, 1,000 Leopard 2E main battle tanks, 3,000 Leopard 2E PSO (non-lethal, designed for securing urban areas), 100 NASAMS AA defense vehicles, 60 Tiger HAD attack helicopters, and 30,000 infantry began to organize at staging points just north of the Italian border.

All of this was occurring under the cover of darkness with radio silence after approaching the Swiss border. However, some ships in the naval force in the Mediterranean began to broadcast messages over the radio calling for all Vineyardian military personnel that it is their duty to leave their bases immediately because the Vineyardian Empire has fallen and a new government must be elected, and that the dictator only has three hours to comply before the use of deadly force against the IPG is approved.

Today began a major step towards the union of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland again as one. The leadership of Northern Ireland Executive Committee, Republic of Ireland, and the United Kingdoms held a meeting in Belfast, Northern Ireland under close protection of the Police Service of Northern Ireland and Garda Siochana would be doing protection of the leadership along with other outside agencies like the Specialist Protection, London Metropolitan Police that is in charge of the protection of the British Prime Minister. Four months later
With Prime Minister Brown, President McAleese, First Minister Robinson, and the Rt. Hon. Shaun Woodward MP which is the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland meeting today in the city of Belfast to discuss the reunification of Ireland under one rule, but the price to be paid is that the whole Irish Nation would have to join the British Commonwealth. The Republic of Ireland is joining the Commonwealth under the London Declaration, in which the Republic of Ireland doesn’t have to declare the Queen the head of State but rather as the Head of the Commonwealth, “symbol of the free association of its independent member nations and as such, Head of the Commonwealth.” So, with this act the Federated Republic of Ireland was born.

Two months later
The meeting today was to be the first in many over the coming next two months about the joining of Irish Defence Force and the British Military in a more able body of command of the two military forces. The new command system will be the Joint British Isle Defence Command (JBID), in which both the Irish Defense Command and United Kingdom Defence Forces will become under command in time of war and national emergency such as terrorist attack on either nation. Also well at this meeting both nations Ministries of Defence have agreed to expand their military and raise new units and begin a major military expansion.

Today the Government of the Her Majesty have decided to expand the British, Irish and other Commonwealth Militaries to better fight the growing conflicts all over the world. Also we are going to be in connection with other military forces in the United Citizens’ Federation will also be allowing the enlistment of soldiers, airman and sailors to join a UCF Military Unit in either the form of ground, air or sea forces. The MoD will have out a new Strategic Defence Review out with in a month allowing the showing of the expanding military forces. We will also be allowing the early production of the Joint Combat Fighter also know as the F-35 Lighting II into full production to be fielded in less then one year to allow the RAF to put the Tornado GR4s and Harrier GR9s into the reserve fleet to be used either by minor UCF Air Forces or Naval Fleet Air Forces. The Royal Air Forces will also be expanding to field about another 15 Typhoon Squadrons to begin a full aerial control of the English Channel with its brother Air Force in France which is also part of the UCF too. This major expansion of military forces for Great Britain it to better allow her to protect her interests around the world. It should be noted that this expansion is not just to be of Great Britain either. The overall military expansion will be for the whole of the United Citizens’ Federation.

Let us start by saying that there has been a major meeting of the United Citizens’ Federation and The Great Sixth Reich that is currently being conducted by members of the UCF Military Government at the moment. This meeting it to bring a continental alliance between our two nations to ensure the peace over Europe and to bring a better relationship between our two great nations. On other news the conflict in Korea and Italy are being conducted according to plan of the Joint Military Council (JMC) of the UCF. On other news the JMC has also decided to put a Unified Military Force together of Naval, Air Force and Ground Forces under sole JMC command. These forces will have there own uniforms and rank insignias as well as use equipment for the whole UCF overall as well as any equipment they might need to acquire from other nations to fill its needs. Tokyo, Japan- Japanese Ministry of Defense

Also, today the Japanese Imperial Government has also announced that it will be restoring its right to conduct offensive military operations against foreign powers. With this happening they have voted to abolish Article 9 of their Constitution. As this has happened the Japanese Self-Defense Forces will be changed to the Imperial Japanese Military Forces. The Ground Self-Defense Forces will become the Imperial Japanese Army, the Air Self-Defense Forces will become the Imperial Japanese Air Force and the Maritime Self-Defense Forces will become the Imperial Japanese Navy. Also the Imperial Japanese Military will also be creating the Imperial Japanese Marine Corps with the help of both the Republic of Korea Marine Corps and the Royal Marines. The Japanese Government as asked the British and French Ministries of Defense if they could produce for them versions of both their navies aircraft carriers. The Shokaku-Class Aircraft Carrier will be based off of the Charles de Gaulle Aircraft Carrier with four of these carrier type being needed. The ships names will be Shokaku, Zuikaku, Soryu and Hiryu to be produced as soon as they can and brought into the Imperial Japanese Navy. The Hiyo Class Light Aircraft Carrier will be based off the Invincible Aircraft Carrier. The first two carriers of this class will be named Hiyo and Junyo. Along with these carriers will also be delivered over 100 Dassault Rafale M Fighter Aircraft with the ‘F3’ standards which would allow it to perform air-to-ground missions. Also the 60 Harrier GR9/9As have been ordered to be placed on the Hiyo Class.

The Japanese Carriers will be working along with the newly formed British Pacific Fleet and French Pacific Fleet that will also be stationed out of Kure and Yokosuka Japan and Hong Kong for the British Pacific Fleet.

Well the Sixth Reich was moving its forces into position to begin its attack on the IPG and against General Geronimo Dictatorial Government in which he would not even allow the right to worship a higher power by the Italian people. The UCF Military Forces already in country started to their prep work on moving their attack with the Sixth Reich's attack into Italy. Many of the forces holding the da Vinici Airport and Port of Fiumicino was beginning to see that reinforcements have started to come in with the landing of the rest of the 13th Foreign Legion Demi-Brigade at the Port of Fiumicino with its more heavier units to move up to da Vinici Airport to help the Rangers out and then hopefully move with the Sixth Reich's forces that would start landing at da Vinici to move onto Rome.

Also at this time the UCF Joint Military Command has authorized the movement of the 1er Regiment de Chasseurs-a-Cheval de la Garde Impériale and 2e Regiment de Chasseurs-a-Cheval de la Garde Impériale from the 1er Corps de Cavalerie de Gardes to be released and moved to help with the fight to Rome with the rest of the UCF and Sixth Riech's forces. The two Cavalry Regiments would be made up of AMX-10RC, VAB and VBCI and VBL armored vehicles. They have an two full infantry companies assigned to them. They will be brought into da Vinici to begin combat operations from the time they rolled off the aircraft.

Gen. Geronimo issued no reply in the specified time frame.

SIC:

The 13th Bomb Squadron flew in from the coast over the imperial air base at 47,000 feet above mean sea level. It was only a short few minutes before the bombers each dropped a MOAB over the air base; the underground fuel system, runways, and RADAR facilities would be completely destroyed in less than a minute, and the base would be an inferno from the fuel system explosion. The other bomb squadron would do the same to the other smaller air base in northern Italy, but with less powerful but more accurrate weapondry.

Immediately after the pre-arranged time that the B-2 bombers were to drop their bombs, two elite fighter squadrons protecting the fleet off the coast rapidly accelerated, using afterburners, to engage a squadron of Vineyardian Typhoons on patrol that base command ordered to investigate base RADAR contact with high-altitude bogies a minute before the bombing attack.

The Vineyardian squadron successfully guessed that the aircraft bombers were bombers and were headed west after dropping their payload. However, the lead Typhoon noted over the radio that he couldn't detect any RADAR contact and, with the base RADAR system now off-line after the attack, the squadron would search west of the base at 45,000 feet MSL.

A minute later, the Vineyardian Typhoons were within only perhaps another minute of making visual contact with the B-2 bombers when F124 air-defense frigate Seidur just off the Italian coast verified the Vineyardian Typhoons as definite bandits.

"Saxnot [call sign of the first fighter squadron on attack], Seidur, music!" Seidur transmitted over the radio.

Seidur jammed the Typhoons' on-board RADAR with its on-board FL 1800S Electronic Support and Counter-Measures system and activitated electronic support measures for the engaging He-36 fighters.

Exclamations of "Fox 3!" soon filled the radio as the engagement started, and the Vineyardian Typhoons took evasive action in response to the incoming missiles. The real dogfight started.

The bombers, however, were now out of harm's way.

Meanwhile, the main attacking force of 1,500 Puma IFVs, 300 Raketenwerfer MARS, 1,000 Leopard 2E main battle tanks, 3,000 Leopard 2E PSO (non-lethal, designed for securing urban areas), and 100 NASAMS AA defense vehicles moved swiftly across the border into Italy. There was no resistance within the first hour besides a brief firefight at the border, but officials at the MND alerted the field command of potential Vineyardian mountain holdouts and possible ambush sites a few miles in-front of the current positions. It was made easier from the MND contacts in Croatia that had full access to all Vineyardian military information at the time right before the fall, although some of it may have changed.

All A380 transports arrived in Rome in the massive airlift that occurred within an hour of the bombing. The forces began to coordinate with the UCF.

Although relatively quiet in international affairs as of late, the USSGR has been busy on the home front in the past years. The military build-up has been completed (OOC: see the military declaration), and the secret police have launched a public campaign to encourage people to report on suspicious activities of people around them. There have been about 100 uprisings, causing about 100,000 deaths and 50 million USD in damages, since the official transfer of government, but the creation of a mostly Russian politburo and the dwindling importance of the old Senate -- in addition to the military's use of deadly force to crush the rebellion and the secret police's infiltration of dissident groups -- has caused the unrest to fall to a reasonable level of one uprising per year.

With the military build-up complete, 10 Borei-class SSBNs are now at sea at any given time, with 3 remaining in port. Sixteen 45-ton Bulava SLBMs on each SSBN, for a total of 160 missiles with 6 MIRVs each, giving a grand total of 960 warheads. All SSBNs have targeting plans to destroy certain Sharinian cities in the event of nuclear war -- two warheads per city above 100,000.

OCC: Two things, first I was making an official announcement, so I think your getting a little to worked up over something so silly for whatever reason I don't know, but I digress. Two, what's great about or not so great depending on your point of view, is that languages are always evolving. As writers, if written cleverly we can use whatever words we want to get them to imply whatever we feel. If I or anyone else wants to imply that the word Communiqué has other meanings, were free to do that.

So, yes I intend to be careful, but I also intend to use words I think imply the best at what I'm trying to convey. You also got to admit that the word communiqué is a much more beautiful word to type then plain old message. As for the Oxford English Dictionary, give them time. Their behind the times.
