Though Iraq and Kuwait have been pacified, the countless petty warlords of the area are fast on the move. They have invaded Sudan, Niger, and Nigeria. Others are threatening Bahrain and Yemen. If order is going to be restored to the middle east and Africa, I feel that we must ally and stand as a united front against the forces of chaos.

After talking it over with Monocrat Otto Rommel von Heinkel and Chief Officer of Defense Ludo Heinkel, we have agreed to agree to your nation's fair proposal.

The Republican Monocracy of the Great Sixth Reich will ally with Sistan as a movement for peace in the Middle East. Although Herr Heinkel seemed optimistic about being involved militarily in the Middle East, I have my doubts that our forces will complete the transformation fast enough. We currently are in the process of transforming our military, you see, and we need time to finish before being involved in any actual military actions.

However, we do have other avenues of support in this case. We would give economic aid or military supplies if requested. Even if direct military "aid" is required, we have a private military contractor secretly affliated with our government, and would be happy to supply "services" under the Sistan flag. Their last operation, quite ironically, was defending Iran from Vineyard.

Meanwhile...

The airborne division that had assisted in the takeover of Ethiopia's capital were now being redeployed to Djibouti City, along with their transport aircraft and equipment. Their passes had been revoked and they were now on standby for possible combat deployment.

Other divisions, now streaming across Ethiopia, now darted towards the former border of Sudan to reinforce the border. Fuel depots and ammunition dumps were erected and guarded in easy-to-reach locations for the divisions, and Sistani-donated aircraft patrolled the skies overhead.

Meanwhile, seven more infantry divisions were moved into the area of Eritrea and Djibouti out of range of warships that may patrol the Red Sea. Artillery and rocket artillery were moved to cover Bab el Mandeb.

The last six divisions were put on alert throughout the rest of the country in various locations (from the former border with Kenya and near population centers). It was a wise move to make sure that all contingencies were planned for, the Imam knew. Hopefully, he had planned for all contingencies...

As requested, Sistani troops were shipped to Asherton. Six divisions in total, and with accompanying air power. Though the naval forces were stationed temporarily at Djibouti, almost the entire Sistani ground force was deployed to the northwest, all along the border with Sudan. Two more carriers and their escorts had arrived with the troop transports, bringing the total to six. These carriers provided the backbone of the Sistani blockade of Red Sea Alliance vessels, though subs also prowled the waters.

Today's current headline is the election results in Minnesota and Iowa. Over the past several months, there were some politicking and a good amount of rallies throughout Minnesota and Iowa. The people of Minnesota and Iowa have recently called for early elections regarding the future of these two states, even though the regular elections is not supposed to be held for two more years.

The impromptu elections have revealed a surprising result. Approximately 78% of Minnesotans wish to join Sharina, while 17% are neutral / undecided, and 5% preferred to stay independent. Similiar numbers are reported in Iowa, with 83% pro-Sharina, 15% neutral / undecided, and 2% pro-independence.

With these results, the states of Minnesota and Iowa have contacted Sharina with offers of membership and intent to join Sharina. The Sharinan leadership has indicated that they are quite happy to accept the two states into the Technocracy, but official paperwork and legislature has to be undertaken. It is expected the official province-hood of these two new provinces will occur later this week.

The states of Illionis and Wisconsin have announced they will hold similiar elections in a month from now to give the campaigners more time to convince voters whether to join Sharina, stay independent, or join the CSA (Illionis) or Michigan (Wisconsin).

"Wisconsin would be a lost cause, we have no support there as it stands, no land borders, and next to no business interests, for now at least, we should focus on Illinois".

"True," Mclaughlin admitted, "But the south and west of the state have strong support for us, and by altering agricultural policy we may be able to get some more, we should milk it for all its worth."

"Maybe, in the regions directly bordering the CSA, but not many - if the Technocracy finds out, shit'll hit the fan and give CSA-Technocracy relations a blow they can ill afford. Two Squadrons of Hawk 209 (30 Aircraft) and One Squadron of F16D (15 Aircraft) were relocated to Bontang AFB (on Borneo) for extensive Combat Training. The Planes were Painted Black with no Markings except a Warta Endorean Flag on the Tail. They practised in close Air Combat, Longe Range Air Combat, Extensive Air Manoevres and Ground Attack. The Training will last two months, with two flights a day with courses in between.

Ministery of Defense Bulletin

DEFCON Level is lowered to DEFCON V, since all manoevres and the threat of war with Indochina are gone. Normal border patrols are resumed and forces take a well deserved rest after several weeks of intense duties (and not to forget the 5 day manoevre). Lessons learned from the Manoevres will be used. Regular Training (such as Advanced Infantry Tactics, Practise on the Shooting Range) continue.

The First of the G36 Assualt Rifles have entered service in the Warta Endorean Marine Corps. If all goes well with the production and no foreign orders come in, the entire Marine Corps will be equiped with the new Assault Rifle in June 2007. The Entire Armed Forces will be equiped with the rifle by December 2007. The National Army Reserves will continue to use the SAR 21, which uses the same ammunition as the G36.

The training of the 133rd. "Black" Squadron, the 12th. "Black" Squadron (both equipped with Hawk 209) and the 2nd. "Black" Squadron (equipped with F16D's) was progressing steadily. The Classes were generally interesting, but the Pilots loved to fly, against each other and against the instructors. Today would be a grand excercise. All three Squadrons (45 Aircraft) would fly against 1st. and 2nd. Instruction Squadrons (30 planes, F16D). Though the Pupils had the numbers, the Instructors were much better pilots, with better planes.

The Instructors weren't in a good modd today. Three were "splashed" at a cost of 6 pupils. The reserve joined the fight and tipped the scale towards the pupils. The Instructors just had too many hostiles around them. They soon withdrew and flew back to base.

Refugee reports from the Sudan confirm that massive slaughters have been occuring within Ethiopian territory. Just before Asherton and Sistani troops closed the border, at least 25,000 refugees - mostly Christian - fled to the Sudan where they have flocked to massive camps where recent military reports confirmed that rampant disease and malnutrition run through the camps. Although the occupation by these refugees was considered illegal, the Prime Minister Yusuf Hassan - on the behalf of Emir Jalal - has granted them all amnesty and pledged to relocate the civilians to government support centers in the Sudan. A number of militant refugees were forced to turn their weapons to ALM authorities before they were permitted to leave for these supporrt centers.

From this large community, which alleges to numerous barbaric murder and torture incidents in Ethiopia as Asherton and Sistan force solidify their power over the region. One man indicated that men were decapitated, castrated, and/or minced in front of their families. A number of the Christan men in the camps had lost arms - one of the better offenses committed in Ethiopia. In all, the reports are startling and conjure only condemnation from the Emirate for this disregard for basic human rights: "Any person who commits such atrocities cannot call himself Muslim, let alone human," quoted by the Ministry of Justice.

The Ministry of Foreign Relations has issued a statement to Asherton:

"While we respect the sovereignty of Asherton and their recent need to procure safe and secure borders, we implore your government to restore order in Ethiopia by less barbaric means. We furthermore express our hope that this sort of practice is commonly accepted by the Asherton Armed Forces as a means to deal with dissident minorities. If need be, we will open our lands to host those displaced in the conflict so that these practices will cease. We hope that Asherton respects the dignity of life, so as not to authorize brutal and unnecessary modes of acquiescence for its citizens. We stand by our offers and await your reply."

If the claims that a genocide has occured at the hands of Asherton and Sistan, we strongly condemn these actions. If the large numbers of refugees become a burden for ALM, Warta Endor will gladly take up a few refugees in our country.

For months, the so called Red Sea Alliance has pranced around Africa, annexing territory as though warmongering was going out of style. Arabicia has allowed renegade Vineyardian forces to attack Sistan from its own territory without a single attempt to stop them. Now Arabicia has taken a page out of Hitler's playbook and staged an attack on its own territory to give a crude excuse to invade the sovereign nation of Yemen. Most recently, Alif Laam Miim has staged a coup in Bahrain and planted a puppet on the throne who immediately declared his loyalty to his puppetmasters. Further, Alif Laam Miim has been smuggling troops around the globe with military transports disguised as oil tankers. To top it off, now the Red Sea Alliance is making false claims of genocide in Asherton. If there were a genocide in Asherton, I would know about it, and put an end to it. This imperialism, warmongering, and lying cannot go on any longer. As of now, the Persian Empire is at war with Alif Laam Miim, Arabicia, and Kopparsberg.

At the moment not. Our support covers the Diplomatical Field and Warta Endor has called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. We support the Red Sea Alliance, but in words only.

So you say Warta Endor will never commit troops to fight in the Middle East?

No, I said that at the moment, Warta Endor will not send troops to the Middle East.

When do we send troops, if we send them?

When High Command thinks the time is right. Maybe, and hopefully, it is not necessary.

Now to the fighting operations going on in the Middle East, who will win?

It will be a though fight. Asherton and Sistan have the advantage of the attacker, but the Armed Forces of the Red Sea Alliance are much and much better. Kopparbergs has an outstanding Military, I doubt Asherton and Sistan can overwhelm them. They've got the numbers, but not the guns to say it that way. The scale can tip to the side of Sistan and Asherton if TG6R, who is an ally of Sistan, joins the war. If that happens, it can be close.

ooc: Re-instating the Government draws upon the tenants onto which the Empire was formed. Officers (and soldiers for that matter) indoctrinated into the Vineyardian Ideology since childhood and/or training would prevent any of the Higher Archy in Individual army command from going rogue due to the throughly propagated Officers. OOC: There's a bit of a difference between corporations and army. Corporations tend to fund themselves, and are independant of governments. Armies, on the other hand, need governments to fund them and direct them. Without the government, armies lack the money to maintain equipment, pay troops, feed troops, house troops, or basicly do anything. When Vineyard left for five months, without a government no less, the equipment would have become unusable, troops would have deserted, and everything would have fallen into chaos. Note the way you claimed that Iraq was a mess.

BTW, every single bit of Vineyard's ME territory has been taken over by someone in his absense. (I control Iraq and Kuwait, Arabicia controls Saudi, and I've invaded Jordan, Oman, and Qatar.) Such is the way of empires when their foundation crumbles. Look at Rome. Rather than claiming that Vineyard's stuff is the same as what it was before minus losses, I'd suggest factoring in the toll that years of entropy has taken.

Vineyard is an often misunderstood nation historically and presently. Perhaps we, a nation with a long history of dealing with this particularly irritating but rewarding ally, can explain.

First of all, Vineyard does not mess around, to put it bluntly. If the Vineyardians promise something, it's going to happen. Polish Intelligence heard that the Vineyardians said that they want their lands in the Middle East back. If this is true, which seems perfectly rational, then this is the most imminent threat to your nation.

Secondly, Vineyard will be a good ally when Vineyard is made happy. Vineyard is a very militaristic nation, which is why the Vineyardians are particularly good allies for other militaristic nations.

If Sistan gives back the Vineyardians lands, the Vineyardians will reward Sistan by making sure that Sistan destroys the Red Sea Alliance. It may be unthinkable to considering giving up newly conquered land, but then again, Great Romeo already did this in the Balkans. Besides, we recently made connections to allow for operations via the Great Romeoians submarine force to assistance Sistan in the Middle East. But this will only happen if Sistan gets into good relations with Vineyard.

In short, it is in Sistan's best interest to transfer the Vineyardian land in the past to the Vineyardians in the present. When this happens, the Vineyardians and the Great Romeoians will make sure Sistan wins this war against the Red Sea Alliance.

We are also overhauling our own military and we are no threat to you. Our two nations have had a long history together filled with both war and peace. The equipment we asked for is vital to our national defense, we are willing to place an order for you to produce that military equipment for us until we get our factories geared up to produce our own. Most of that equipment we asked for is already in our sevice. It would be a shame if we would have to turn to another nation to supply our defense needs after all the past agreements we have made, especally after working together on joint projects.

The Government of Corsica made the transfer from independence easily as expected.

The South Korean Government offered a cease fire agreement with the Japanese forces in their country. They also agreed to compitulate to the Japanese forces because they want a stable government. While the North Korean Government said that they will fight until the last man.

Not Content to abandon our fellow brothers and sisters in the Netherland Antilles and Aruba, a small force has been dispatched to the Islands to protect them from hostile action. The United Netherlands will take full responability for the defense of these Islands.

A small Force was also dispatched to the Islands of Trinidad and Tobago and Madagascar for incorporation into the United Netherlands. While the Islands of Trinidad and Tobago were expected to be a push over, the Capture of Madagascar was going to be a different matter all together. With only a limited number of transports in the Indian Ocean only a few battalions would be able to land at a time until more reforcements could be brought from Sri Lanka.

The United Netherlands hereby has claimed (annexed) these Islands and ask all nations of the world to recogizne our claim to them.

The landing operation in the Netherlands Antilles and in Aruba was a simple matter of just docking the large Rotterdam Class LPD into port to unload the troops. The residents of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba were citizens of the United Netherlands. As the troops marched into the main town (Capital)- women and men were hugging and kissing the soldiers, the government of United Netherlands had not abandon them to the wolves of this world.

A single Battalion of soldiers were to guard each Island, a few Flyvefisken Class Patrol Craft and Karel Doorman Class Frigates would aid in the defense of the Islands.

The Islands of Trinidad and Tobago:

A few hours later after reloading new troops into the transports and sailing the distance to Trinidad and Tobago- the battle for these Islands would of course be easy, but not as easy as just sailing into port. Right before the troops would hit the ashore both in landing craft and in helicopters, the Hr.Ms. Karel Doorman, Hr.Ms. Van Speijk and Hr. Worried that some nations might view this action as aggressive and imperialistic, at the same time the government announced the annexation of the Islands it had announced that the Islands residents were now citizens of the United Netherlands and all the benefits that came with citizenship.

Together, both the residents of the Islands and the nation of the United Netherlands would benefit in due time from the annexation of these Islands.

A few members of the crowd started to get very angery but most just kept talking amongst themselves while he went on.

"And to any Sistani officials that are watching this, we will not fall so very easily. The spirit and determination of the Caucasus is very strong. We will resist you at every turn. We will make you bleed for every inch of land you try to take from us forcibly." He said finally 'I hope this all works out' He thought. With that he left the podium to a lot of cheers and a few boos. He hoped he could hold onto their spirit in the coming months.

It was a cool, rainy afternoon. Lieutenant Salim did not want to go on this mission, but the Federal Security Service received a very certain tip about a terror cell hiding out in an Istanbul warehouse. His own car, a black Crown Victoria was parked on the opposite corner from the warehouse, which was in the middle of the street. Another car with agents was on the diagonal corner on the other side of the ware house. Other cars were around the corner. A total of 50 agents were under Salim's command for this mission. They had been waiting for hours until finally a man of Arab descent walked out of the warehouse. An FSS spotter quietly radioed his direction to agents nearby. The man turned the corner and was grabbed and stuffed into a car without making a sound.

Salim got out of his car and walked down the block to the other car and began interrogating the man. He soon found out a few details about the warehouse. There was indeed a terror cell inside and they had a full operations base. The man was hand cuffed as Salim left the car and went back to his own. He spoke into his radio:
"All units report!"
"Unit 1 here."
"Unit 2 ready!"

"Unit 3?" Salim asked.
"Sorry, had a problem. Unit 3 here."
"Ok, be ready when I say go." Salim started, "GO!"

A door ram was brought and used to break down the door. Agents stormed in and yelled: "Federal Agents! Hands up!" One agent tossed a stun grenade towards a group of terrorists at a table. A bright flash and bang went off. The agents moved in and before the terrorists ahd a chance to get their weapons, they were immobilized and soon handcuffed. From a side door two terrorists walked in and started firing from behind an old car in the warehouse. Lt. Salim sent two shots off at them and they both dropped,

The agents began clearing up the place. "Look at this, Lieutenant." said a sergeant who found a trove of forged IDs and passports for several nations. They continued looking for thigns and uncovered thousands of dinars worth of counterfeit money from many of the same nations as the forged IDs: Sel Appa, Alif Laam Miim, The Great Sixth Reich, Vineland, and others. Upon opening a trap door, a corporal found the press that made the counterfeit money and a desk with equipment for forging IDs. "Look at all this stuff they had." said the sergeant. He had found hundreds of kilos of explosives and a box filled with faxes and printed out emails. There were also letters from Tel Aviv, Cairo, and Riyadh. It turned out that the terrorists were not only terrorists, but spies. They were arrested and brught back to the FSS Headquarters for interrogation.

Several divisions, infantry and armored had started to move forward, and begin setting up temporary headquarters at several border towns. Towns such as Jaisalmer, Armitssar, Pathankot, and Bhuj. It would seem as though atleast 2 full Field Armies are being mobilized.

The last power to recently control Pakistan before they gained their independence was the British Raj or Indian Empire. International news reports, and especially local Indian reports have started to conduct stories on the massive restructuring, and funding of the Indian military.

Along side the massively increased standards of living for Indian military personnel, recruitment is being turned out to an all time high. Promises of massive amounts of money being put aside for enlistment bonuses. Promises of great pay, housing, and food are being pointed at the down, and distraught Indian.

They are no lies either. With great economical power, comes a greater budget. The Indian defense budget boasts a budget of nearly 10 trillion USD, more than enough to buy the country’s wildest wet-dream toys, and equip their soldiers to the point where they’d never want to leave the military.

The side affect to having a massively equipped, and trained military, is what they will wrought in the civilian world. With training, leadership, and skills, retiring Indian officers, and even ordinary soldiers will bring much needed skills to the civilian work place, which will improve conditions, and create more income.

Along with a massive recruitment drive(Quota is to increase size by 500%), the country reaches out to the international community for all of its shopping needs. However, that is the only snag in the entire operation. No country has yet to come forward for India’s needs. The solution? Again, massive budgets. Offer many times asking prices, and one is sure to receive.

It is with great pleasure today that the UARCA announces the formation of its first national government, led by Premier Taimur Nazarbayev. Despite the fragility and relative newness of the UARCA, a Constitution and political process was agreed upon by all member nations and swiftly enacted.

Furthermore, the capital of the UARCA has also been chosen- after a fairly short debate upon the matter, Tashkent, formerly of Uzbekistan, will become the national capital. At this time, plans are being laid for the conversion of multiple areas of the city into areas suitable for foreign embassies.

The four Army CH-53D helicopters bumped down on the rooftops. They were easily distinguished as being Confederate, bearing the army insignia on the side, whilst the words "The 4th Airborne Cavalry - you never saw us coming" were painted in white on the dark green sponson of the chopper.

Eventhough certain elements of the Warta Endorean Marine Corps and Air Force are abroad, the planning of the reconquest of Thailand, Burma and Bangladesh was finished.

As usual with Warta Endorean Operations, speed was essential. With Amphibious and Airborne Landings deep inside hostile territory, followed by quick advances on the ground, it was almost Blitzkrieg like. The neighbouring countries, Azaha and Indochina, would be informed before the attack and would be ensured that they were not a target now and in the future.

We have raised our def con status to its second highest. As I speak, two more field armies are being mobilized to push into the Pakistani territory, and then onward to the Iranian territory. Our naval and air forces are on full alert, and the INS Viraat strike group is being composed.

Our already highened recruitment efforts have been trippled to compensate for our relatively small military size. Immediatly, there will be a creation of an 8th Field Army. Within the next coming year, there will be a creation of two more field armies, and the christoning of a Marine Expeditionary Force. The plan had been for this to be done within the next 3 years, however the urgency of war have made us increase our efforts dramatically.

At the Reich Intelligence Agency headquarters, the brand new briefing room was in use. Equipped with one one-hundred-twenty inch high-definition liquid crystal display (LCD) monitor in front of the room connected to a multi-million dollar audio-visual equipment and computer systems, and smaller LCD monitors in front of each of the thirty seats, it was a geek's dream come true.

Jonatan Romanowski was conducting the briefing personally, in Latin, the language of choice for Reich Intelligence:

“At 0003 hours Zulu, Expeditio Vigiles begins. At that time, a full-size rental van, loaded up with all the weapons and gadgets' one could want, will be ready in the service tunnel of this base. JULIET will travel to Munich Frans Josef Strauß International Airport in this van to our secure cargo terminal. The van will be loaded onto a Lufthansa Cargo Airbus A380F, while JULIET boards the plan to rendezvous with KILO and SIERRA PAPA. While traveling through international airspace the aircraft will be protected by the Luftwaffe, specifically three of our experimental Heinkel He-36 fighters, with support from an Airbus A330 AWACS and an Airbus A330 tanker. After landing at Cairo International Airport (IATA: CAI, ICAO: HECA), JULIET, KILO, and SIERRA PAPA will travel in the van, which will have a real Egyptian plate and registration matching it, carrying real Egyptian driver licenses with fake names, to the safe house and await further instructions. The operation was started immediately as JULIET traveled to the waiting van. Agent JULIET was an experienced veteran spy, a German Russian Jew with a curly afro named Michael “Mike” Eisenstein. The ride to the airport went smoothly, with the effects of the Great Sixth Reich's continuing environmental initiative evident in the star-filled dark sky. After a biometric identification check outside the terminal, he was cleared inside and parked in the warehouse. Once at 35,000 feet, all the agents and the flight crew heard “Lufthansa six-six-six heavy, Nordlus heavy with you. We are type Airbus A330 AWACS, leading your escort team,” “Lufthansa six-six-six heavy, Bayer heavy is with you, type Airbus A330 tanker,” and “Lufthansa six-six-six heavy, Seehund Flight is with you, types Heinkel He-38, Seehund One.” The escort team was with them, and they were headed to Egypt.

Since this event, I've tracked them more closely and found that nearly all of the men come from either Sistani and Asherton territories. In an international news report, the subject of the Indian Navy surfaces.

After years of secrecy, trading, and Research & Development, the Republic of India announces its new naval plan.

The plan calls for the construction of 4 new Light Cruisers, 2 Heavy Cruisers, and a minimum of 2 Aircraft carriers to be constructed. All of which were designed, and will be created, by Indian yards.

The reason behind is stated to be the lack of power the current Navy conveys. With the Indian Navy's largest ship being the INS Viraat, only one of which exist, and the next biggest being missile destroyers, it was called for larger, more force projective vessels. Not to mention, the Indian Navy is as old as the late Soviet Union.

The schematics and basic specs will be released in several months when construction actually begins. It is estimated that it would take a minimum of a decade for the new fleet to be constructed, but miracles have been known to happen, one Indian official notes.

With sporadic fighting still occurring in areas of Turkmenistan and a number of further terrorist incidents reported in Turkestan, the United Autonomous Republics of Central Asia has announced today that it is calling up reserves for an unannounced length of time. Even as this was announced, Central Command of the People's Guard annonuced that further military units would be moving into Turkestan.

The Premier called for "a just and measured response to be delivered by the People's Guard, in both Turkmenistan and Turkestan." Premier Navarbayevs further elaborated, saying that,

"This is a fight for the very soul of our nation, for the heritage our nation was built upon. The people of Turkmenistan will exercise their basic right to participate in government and the actions of deluded rebels who long for their power under the despotic rule of Niyazov will not hinder the People's will. And their allies, in deed if not letter, in Turkestan, will also feel the strong fist of justice and liberty come crashing down on them. Even now, as attacks spread, the brave soldiers of the People's Guard advance to meet and contain the threat and protect all the people of Western China, those of Turkestan or points further east, from this vile activity."

Independent sources claim that multiple divisions have already passed over the Tien Shan range and are moving to major cities along the Tarim Basin, but with no official word these reports must only be viewed as idle speculation. Official word has come out that People's Guard forces have defensively occupied the cities of Kashgar, Ining, and Urumchi, despite heavy resistance by terrorist forces. Casualty figures are unknown.

News coming out of Turkmenistan is noticeably clearer, with People's Guard spokespersons reporting that all major cities, with the exception of Turkmenbashi, have been completely freed from Niyazov's rule. As the war in the Iberian peninsula continued, new happenings were going on in the South Indian Ocean.

In Madagascar, a small force was dispatched from the Island to seize the Juan de Nova and Tromelin Islands. Since, the islands were uninhabitable their takeover was only a matter of landing the force via helicopters. Just like on Europa Island a small military garrison would be set up on the islands to oversee a meteorological station. Since, observing the weather could mean the difference between life and death, the United Netherlands also announcing they had annexed the islands would allow other nations to use the meteorological stations.

From Sri Lanka, the 1st Marine Battalion was sent to seize Cocos (Keeling) Island and Christmas Island. While of no military value, their future to the United Netherlands had been decided long ago. The battle for the Islands took less then a day, with the landings taking place on multiple fronts, including air insertion via helicopters. Though a shock to the locals of having their islands invaded without notice, soon they settled back into their normal routine.

An agreement was signed with the governing body of the Cocos and Christmas Islands. The United Netherlands would gain the use of the Islands as a base, but would financially compensate the islands residents for the use of their Islands.

Elements of the Tripoli Army Group loaded onto the ALM fleet in the Mediterranean and made headway for the islands of Crete and Malta, after the recent supposed acquisition of Cyprus by the Empire of Dweladelfia Prime.

Malta was swarmed by planes carrying leaflets,urging the people therein not to resist Emirate Forces as they sought to defend the population against future agressions. While many did heed the call, a large element of loyal Maltese forces resist ALM landings on the north side and through the ports. The action in Malta was rather swift and bloodless, although casualties are still present.

The Emir will be making a televised appearance later this evening, likely to offer his official stance on the circumstances around the events in the Mediterranean. Forces have yet to make any advance on Crete, although planes have been sent to drop leaflets over the island, to placate any resistance.

The strait of Gibraltar is international waters and any ship may pass through them. Any military or civilian vessels of the Dutch fleet stopped or fire upon without due cause will result in action being taken by the ships to defend themselves. Even with our operations in Spain and Portugal, we have not resorted to blockading international waters.

Our vessels are doing the upmost to maintain order on the high seas. It can't complete its mission, if its blocked from doing so. Thereby, the United Netherlands government will not recognize the blockade impose by the Kingdom of Kopparbergs.

OCC: Remember I have ships traveling to and from around the Strait. A large part of my fleet is sitting right off the various coasts of Spain. You wouldn't want me to blockade your fleet would you? Remember, I'm here to bring stability to the region, not start a major war. Your making my job harder. If you want to have a blockade, I suggest you work one out with my government and have it be a limited one.

Satilite operator # 22 was proceeding with his grid scan of the Atlantic. He zoomed in on it. A name appeared as he zoomed towards it. The Island of Ascension. He panned his satilite to Infa red. His coffee mug dropped onto his desk, spilling hot coffee all over the Mahogany desk.

A man was seen sprinting down a metallic hallway, knocking over several prestegious Naval Captains and Admirals idling away and minding their own buisness. Normally, this man would have committed suicide by now, after having offenced so many prestegious people in the command chain, but he no longer cared. naval command HAD to see this!

He rammed his way, without losing momentum, into the High Admiral's office. The Admiral was mid-way into sipping his tea and didnt flinch when the man fell face first into the floor after overcomming his door and failing to clear the lone step up. The man stood up, calmly regained his posture, then basically jumped to the Admirals desk, slamming down a piece of paper. Not just any paper. But a Photo. Not just any photo. But a satilite Photo. A Photo of a giant reb blur covering the seas around Asencion.

The small rabble of Dignified, if slightly angry, Captains and Admirals strode in, and probably would have flogged the poor man if they hadn't noticed that the Admiral didnt even acknowladge their presence. His eyes were wide, staring at the piece of paper. They put the man down and gathered around the paper, many of them gasping, but a few of the younger officers amungst them being puzzled as to what they were looking at.

The last that had been seen or heard of it was in the Adriatic, when Admiral Hrechuck, the old admiral of the Empire, had been forced to withdraw after his son, a Captain of the Imperial Guard named Captain Adam Herchuck (Coincidentially his son), had bombarded the navy from afar using 2 Mountain bases at the mouth of the Agean while controling the Heartlands.

The Intel report read that it would be difficult to feed such a crew for an extended period of time, and that it was likly that when Herchuck had presumably returned to Ascension, his navy disentegrated. But clearly, the opposite.. or something much worse.. was the case. Clearly, someone had managed to Crew and fuel such a large fleet... but who? And why would they sail now?

ALM forces in the Red Sea are ordered to make final preparations to pacify the chaotic forces of the former Sistan. A land force is expected to join Arabician forces in Saudi Arabia, to make pacification runs in the UAE. The hardest battle is expected to run in Yemen, Oman, and Qatar, where the Sistani forces had the local support of extremist groups, which recently perpetrated the attacks on Riyadh.



In other news, the attack on Crete was slow, due to extremely stif resistance. Two of the three attempts were repulsed, and the third landing made a successful breach, only to face rather uncommon valor. The ALM airforce is having difficulty maintaining runs on the islands, due to the long distance required to perform the runs. Naval vessels have forgone any attempts to bombard the island, but casualties are running relatively high, neighboring in the 1000s, nearing 2000.

The General Staff has convened in Al Qahirah, to decide on future military operations involving the Emirate, notably against Asherton, as their long-time supporter has fell into collapse. The Army of Aswan had faced a few skirmishes, along its jungle border with Asherton, but most of these were too few and far in between. Progress there has been rather stumped by a lack of coordination between its indigent forces.

CSA News bulletin - McDonnell Douglas Awarded $79 Billion Arms Contract!

The firm McDonnell Douglas was today awarded a contract of $79 billion, to proceed with the development of a multi role fighter to replace the ageing F-4 Phantom in the Confederate army air arm. Fairchild Aviation and the United Defense aerial systems company are set to be sub contractors.

The aircraft is also set to replace the small numbers of F-22 Raptors currently in service for logistical purposes. Total requirement is currently set at 780 for the Air Wing, 80 for the navy and 50 for the marine corps. Development is set to take around 6 years.

The MoD and McDonnell Douglas declined to release any further details at this stage.

The Government of United Federation of Military Command is at this moment sending ... snippet... from the Japanese Imperial Military. These forces are currently invading Greece to bring into the folds to the UFMC. It is also to bring stublity to the Greek people.

AS all are aware, four days ago a string of terrorist attacks rocked UARCA citizens and conmstruction equipment across much of Turkestan, in addition to causing grave damage to the citizens of that reegion. I was unfortunately forced to send the military in to attempt to bring back peace and security.

I stand before you today to say that it will not be that simple. The People's guard has been forced to move throught Turkestan and yet is still coming under attack. The latest intelligence reports suggest rogue elements of what was once the Chinese military have joined with these brutal terroists to seek to impose their will on the free peoples of our nations and of Turkestan. This shall not be tolerated. In a closed session of Parliament, I asked for and received full coooperation of the government of the UARCA in the effort to secure the areas around our borders from the vagaries of terrorists and despots.

Many of you may know someone directly affected by the calling-up of national reserves. This step, however, is a necessity. Though the People's Guard stands ready, there are simply too many problems occurring at the same instant along the borders of the UARCA. Turkmenistan was one of those problems, the situation in Turkestan another, and now a new situation is developing even as we speak, in Sistani territories adjacent to our own. We are surrounded by violent criminals of the lowest order, by tyrannical and deranged terrorists and mobs. The UARCA has been forced to respond.

Turkmenistan, I am proud to announce, is fast on its way to becoming a functional nation once again. Elections are to be held within the week, and fighting has subsided across the country. Even now, there are but few pockets of hold-outs who long still for the despotism of the ex-dictator Niyazov. I can guarantee the people of the UARCA that Turkmenistan will be whole and secure once more and it is my fond hope that the people of Turkmenistan will choose to join the UARCA at hte earliest possible time, to cement their hard-earned reforms.

Turkestan and other areas around it are now feeling once again the justice of liberty and law. The People's Guard is working hand-in-hand with the Ministry of State Security to root out terrorists and terrorist supporters who threaten the lives of the citizens of the UARCA and the lives of those in the region. At the same time, the People's Guard is making strong headway into gaining control of areas even now erupting into lawlessness, something totally and completely necessary for our safety in this region. The struggle will require sacrifices, but we will bring the beacon of liberty and allow the light of freedom to shine in the area, rooting out those hiding in darkness and waiting to strike.

But a third situation has develpoed- the Sistani government has fallen and lawlessness has begun to reign over the Middle East once more. I do not condone nor support the ex-government of Sistan and indeed condemn them in no uncertain terms for their blatant and unwarranted aggression against their peace-loving neighbors. But now, with the region descending into anarchy, something must be done and I wish if ever so slightly for hte order provided by that departed government. Without them, order must be restored somehow. And recent world events show me just how- the current order of the world today.

Foregin nations, seeking to "provide peace" will move in like vicious beasts, snapping at and feasting upon all available land for their expansionist impulses. I stand before you today, people of the UARCA, people of Asia, people of the World, and say that this is not how it will happen. Order will be restored- not by warmongers from foreign lands or vultures from imperialist nations, but by a coalition of nations who have a true interest in the lives of the people within the region. I call on all fellow Asian nations bordering what was once Sistani territory to immediately meet in Tashkent regarding the situation, so we can best approach how to rectify this problem for the best. Only through our nations working together can the problems be solved once and for all.

But only nations who have full ties to the region shall participate. No foreign nations will be given free reign over Sistani territories. No government shall be levied upon the region by outsiders. This is an internal matter of the repective nations of the region and will be treated as such, by all nations of the world. I stand firm in my resolve, and the people of the UARCA stand firm behind me. If you do not doubt our resolve, now is the time to show the world what has been made through the strength and solidarity of the UARCA. Though we stand for peace and fully believe it is the best approach to all problems, if we must we will overcome tyranny, we will overcome despotism, and we will overcome the darkness of ignorance with the blinding light of freedom!

South Africa is most disturbed by these events unfolding. but we know an opportunity when it arises. therefore we propose an alternative route through to the medittereanean via the red sea and the Suez canal. we can accomodate trading and merchant vessels in the ports of Waalvis Baai, Port Elizabeth, Cape town and Durban.

Being a nation that has a relatively large coastal territory we have a vested interest in International trade via shipping routes e.t.c. Therefore this opportunity would be mutually beneficial to all nations involved...

we wonder if any red sea nations (Aliff Im looking at you....:p ) would be willing to participate in this venture.

(this was akin to the Red sea crises of the 70s where the opposite happened the Suez canal was closed and an alternative route was planned to transport goods via South Africa and throught the Straights of Gibralter.)
