"That about covers it." Smiling, Eric thanks the General for his time. "Now, you'll have to excuse me. There is another meeting I must attend." He climbed back onto the Blackhawk. Once the bodyguards got on board the helicopter lifted off the helipad and headed towards Erikkland, their final destination.

"We must protect our intrests in the region."

The Emperor's words rang through General Roberts' head as looked out at the sea. The general had been sent to this island, now called Insula, to asses the situation and solidify "our interests in the region." Roberts knew what that meant.

Take some territory.

He looked down from the view from his balcony at the map that lay in front of him.

Troops had already been mobilized to take control of Parum Insula, the small island to the west. They had already been annexed, but the locals resisted violently, (OOC: meaning my ownership of it hasn't been marked on the big map yet!) and they needed to be faced in kin: violently.

However, Roberts knew that taking control of that island would not be enough. Errikland needed some real control in other parts of the region.

That is why he just ordered a legion be sent to take the penninsula south of Demoras as well as all of the land of the harbor to the south of that, all the way to the border with Deatharon. Control of this region would provide many a safe harbor for shipping, not to mention the available resourses in the area.

Also, Roberts had just signed the order for another legion to take control of either side of the narrow straight between the island occupied by Demoras and the large island of the Greater Chinese region (OOC: Just the two penninsulas opposite one another that come out and nearly touch).

The only occupiers of these regions were the locals, whose weapons bear no threat to Errikan forces. Demoras and the GCR do not control territory near the areas we intend to conquer, and thus should not be alarmed by our forces taking it. Deatharon, however, was another story.

Roberts knew that they were conquering to the very edge of the territory of another imperial power. He also knew that the last thing that he wanted at this point was bad relations with another imperial power in this region.

Due to the increased trade and the newfound resources in Arterus, the Premier had allowed more military forces to be stationed in Liantao Province. As of now, two new aircraft carriers, the result of the recent militarization, had been deployed to the area. Several frigates and destroyers, as well as a couple SSNs, were also based in Liantao. Admiral Zhang had been promoted, and was now the Commander of GCRN forces in Liantao. His first action was to send ships to the newly colonized land. Because of the close proximity to Erikkland claims, he didn't want any misunderstandings between their two countries. Therefore, he decided to send an aircraft carrier, along with its escorts, to keep the peace.

Zukariaa has expanded farther into the north, forcing out inhabitants. They have either been sent to Gwazzaria's protective claim or the Kukar nation.

After replacing the back rotor assembly, which started making crunching noises, the newly-outfitted Blackhawk helicopter headed towards Erikkland.

"Send the Emperor my sincerest thanks." Roberts returned the phone to the reciever. Another conversation with the mindless ditz that they had assigned to be his secretary. He had been looking forward to going to personally lead the troops at the front; not just because he enjoyed such things, but he would do most anything to get away from that woman for a couple days. At least today she had brought good news.

He could resolve some diplomatic issues (quite important to solidifying power in the region) and be off to the front when that was done.

The Emperor had commited several more legions (apparently he thought this region was pretty important), and Roberts knew just where to send them.

He would send the majority of his forces to secure the western penninsula of the large island to the east of Insula, as well as sending minor forces to secure other areas to provide good ports for Errikan trade.

Hold it, I think the remaining Kukar nation should be divided between the two of us with me receiving the northern territores and you getting the southern. My reasons for this as follows:


1.My forces will still be advancing and taking advantage of the native's fear and chaotic confusion.

2. The Imperial forces would most likely halt as soon as we meet at your claimed/ guarded borders and found a decent resistance from a modern nation.

Zukariaa has sent a small naval fleet to Whyatica's currently held penninsula. They are to aid Whyatica in its capture of the penninsula and then await further orders from the High Commander.

The conquests had gone better than expected. The resistance of the natives was minor, at most. In the largest area they had annexed (the western penninsula of the large northern island), the locals mostly merely got up and left. Stupid nomads.

Now Roberts was planning something bigger.

He had already shifted his two best legions and most of his tanks to the easternmost Errikan territory in Arterus (the continent, not the island chain), and was preparing an assault. They would fight their way to the border of Roman Greek territory in the southeast and then to the sea in the west. This huge land grab must be swift, as he did not want any other imperial power to become involved. They would initially fight the locals as little as possible, as a full scale war could easily be waged after the territory was claimed and no Imperial powers had their toes stepped on.

He would remain in the new colonial capital, Urbs Insula, on the island of Insula, until all of the diplomacy was taken care of, then he would go to personally lead troops at the front.

Roberts issued the orders to his commanders at the front over the phone. Not only was that campaign launched, but another, minor, one was underway as well. The coastline between the other two territories that Errikland controlled on the continent was to be siezed. This campaign would be much quicker than the war following the annexation of the eastern land, not only because the area was smaller, but also because it had far less population density of natives than the other area.

Now all Roberts could do was wait for the Chinese ambassador to arrive.

With the initial bases set up, more and more Capitol Police flooded onto the Whyatican-held peninsula. As they mechanized and prepared to advance, they heard from the High Command that Zukariaa was supporting them in their advance throughout the continent, but the forces on land ignored it and began their advance. Within one day, they had claimed three hundred miles of land, executed 7,000 natives, and set up a new military base. Kraven Whyatica now claimed the entire peninsula and was preparing to sweep into the main continent..

As of 12 noon that very day, the new colonial land was for sale to private owners: dirt cheap (both literally and figuritively).
Errikans migrated from the increasingly crowded cities of the homeland to the new colonies in the hundreds of thousands within hours. The new capitol was overrun, but not for long: many sought land in the countryside: by boat, train, or plane.
The locals were little problem: their populations had always been low, and Errikan law did not protect them.

In a matter of days, nearly every corner of colonial territory saw the settlement of Errikans. Vast tracts of land were readied for farming, cities began to rise where there had been none, and roads seemed to spring out of no where. This new world was quickly being civilized.

Even we only have 5% of our total population in the military, and we are on the extreme edge. Most people would have around 2%, and that's total military forces anywhere in the world. The Regiment that had "disobeyed" their orders received high honors for defeating the Barbarian hordes and for "claiming" Kukar's lands in the name of the Grand Shadow Empire and the Galick Barony. The Grand Shadow Emperor Alfonso Von Antheron personally thanked the Imperial Regimental Commander despite his failure to follow his orders. The surviving Natives were now classified as slaves. The Grand Shadow Empire of Deatharon began to sell the new slave source to the various trade guilds. Soon the Natives would be shipped by the thousands across the various lands of the Grand Shadow Empire of Deatharon.

Your strike is the opening blow to this operation, and we believe there will be little, even no resitance for you. Later waves will suffer losses, but you guys are lucky."

He then put the pointer down, and walked to the center.

"You boys are opening the first shots on the Arterusian mainland. Stay safe, and Godspeed."

The pilots filed out, preparing to board their planes. The first raid of this war was to be carried out by a plane that no nation other than those with close ties to Cravan knew about. The F-798 Talon.

Hundreds of the fighters, each of them carrying four fuel air bombs in their internal bays, prepared for takeoff. They engaged their burners, shooting off into the atmosphere. Within a half hour every Talon participating had been launched. They engaged their main engines, and entered orbit. This was the largest formation of the fighters ever assembled, and they were going for good reason.

They would be over Arterus in the next few hours. And when they did arrive, the forces in the region would feel the true Wrath of the Falcon unleashed...

Within a half hour every Talon participating had been launched. They engaged their main engines, and entered orbit. This was the largest formation of the fighters ever assembled, and they were going for good reason.

They would be over Arterus in the next few hours. And when they did arrive, the forces in the region would feel the true Wrath of the Falcon unleashed...

Major Jones raised his hand in a sign of no.

"I don't smoke." The man shrugged and slipped the cigarrette back into the case. They were a standard part of the rations, but not all men used them. The commander of Errikan forces in the eastern section of Errikan territory in Arterus used a different part of standard equiptment.

"That Bible have anything new in it?" Jones looked up at his questioner, his friend Will Jackson, "I mean, you read that thing all the time, and I was wondering if it had anything new."

"Very nice, Will."

"I thought so," he chuckled. After another moment, Jones slipped his bible into his pack and began to leave the tent. "Where you goin'?"

"I have to check my messages, Will," Jones answered, "We can't all have the cushy jobs like you." That raised quite a bit of laughter from Jackson, which was only slightly blocked out when Jones closed the tent flap behind him. Moments later, he arrived at the official compound, and found a particular message awaiting him from his mother's brother.

The major tribes on the border of our territory in your region (to the west and south) are knowingly hostile to us. They are supporting insurrections amoungst local tribes that normally would not be able to oppose us at this point by rallying them and smuggling weapons in to them. I am sending a similar letter to our army to the east of your position, and they are to do the same to the tribes threatening their region. Expect no reinforcements.

Jones skimmed through the many extra pages that had come with it. As always, there was an Official Mission Statement on top, which was basically what the General had said, except in lawyerspeak.

They would head out tomorrow.

Major Jones patted his steed atop the head. It really was a beautiful animal: a large light brown mare with a dark mane and a dark tail that walked like it carried a king.

"Sir?"

"Yes?" he quickly responded, looking at the souce of the voice. It was Ralph Karson, whose upper torso and above stuck out of the hatch of the nearest battle tank.

"Our scouts report that the enemy army is signifigantly larger than we thought, and advancing far faster than we thought."

Bad combination.

"How many and where?"

"At least fifty thousand who should reach our current position before dusk."

"Fifty?! Where could these savages get those kind of numbers?"

"From my reports, our tanks have some sort of religious signifigance . . ."

"Great," Jones chuckled sarcastically, "The same thing that made the people in the north just get up and leave is uniting these people against us."

"Talk about irony, eh?"

Jones blew that last remark off, surveying the surrounding terrain. It was a shallow valley, with fairly thick forest beginning fairly low on the slope they were approaching, with thinner forest beginning higher up on the slope behind them. The bottom of the valley itself was merely grassy with no trees. Jones turned in his saddle to better see the slope behind them. The slope was far steeper than the slope that they were advancing on, and had large boulders strewn about.

It was then that he had the idea.

"Please accept our agreements to propose a treaty and permanent borders, seeing how you wish to acquire some land by my territory. Let us meet, and sign a treaty of some sort."

As this telegram was being wired Jaredcohenian naval vessels sailed through the warzone in Zukariaa and settled in the harbor between Zukariaa and Deatharon, the perfect spot for trading with all three surrounding nations.

As the sun slowly disappeared in the west, the large native force crested the hill. Jones watched through his binoculars from the slope of the opposing hill. There were definately more than 50,000.

His troops had spent all afternoon digging trenches, building three foot walls out of wood, stones and earth, and moving the rocks and boulders that littered the hillside. The men stood at the ready; the some soldiers were ready in the trenches with their assault rifles, while others crouched behind the walls behind that (also with their assault rifles); heavy machine guns were posted at these stations at well. The boulders were positioned to funnel their troops through essential choke points (should they get past the initial lines), where they could be mowed down by the heavy machine guns.
When all was said and done, they had constructed a considerable fortification, at least from the point of view of the natives.

And yet the natives, bearing only spears, some swords, a few simple guns, and several dozen horses, decided to attack.

Jones had no air support, but that did not stop him from starting the battle from the skies: he ordered the tanks, with their long range turrets and explosive rounds, to begin firing on the enemy position.

The shells fell into the ranks of the natives with devestating effect. Men, or what was left of them, where thrown in all directions from where the shells struck.

Still, Jones had far too few tanks to have any real effect on anything other than their morale; unfortunately, that was unshakeable, as their gods demanded they fight this new threat. Fleeing now, even against such unholy power, would be unthinkable.

It was then, with the sound of a horn, that they charged.

The natives rushed across the field at full speed. They ran as fast as they could, holding their spears high, waving their swords about, and readying their guns.

It was then that the machine guns began firing.

The savages were mowed down in droves. Some caught the bullets (from the machine guns, which were fifties) in the chest, killing them instantly. Others were hit in the legs, sending them falling down into the ongoing fire.

Despite the heavy fire, some got within range to fire their basic guns. The guns were very inaccurate, and the shooters were neither skilled nor had time to aim, causing damage to be minimal.
However, those that grew close enough to throw their spears were far deadlier.
The few that had rudimentary granades were even worse.

After quite some time of this, the injuries and casualties in the forward trenches were getting bad.

"Fall back," Jones ordered over his radio to the commander in the forward trenches, "Our rear positions will provide more than enough cover fire. Mine the trenches then retreat to the walls." His orders were followed swiftly, and the forward trenches were abandoned.

Now using their large wooden shields, which could hold off a split second of machine gun fire, the natives quickly reached the abandoned positions, jumping in quickly in hopes of getting cover from the persistant enemy fire.

What they found was explosives.

"Good," Major Jones said as he watched the battle through his binoculars. Most of the savages had yet to enter the valley, and the enemy had taken the forward trenches, but their later positions were far better fortified. The enemy would need a miricle to turn this battle.

"Sir," the radio suddenly broke out, "An enemy force is advancing on our southern flank!"

Of course we shall agree to the proposed pact and we shall grant trade rights. It should be noted how ever that the land of Elendil will be highly militarized area, so please do not be alarmed after we ship over two million troops to be stationed there.

As the forces of Kraven Whyatica continued to advance through Arterus, destroying the land, destroying the natives, further feeding the indominatable war machine, they suddenly stopped advancing when their border touched nations called the Aeson and Novus Romus. The brigades fortified their positions, and the Reichsmarshal in charge of the advancing brigades sent a communication to both nations.

You will allow the Kraven Harvesters to advance through your lands or we will take it by force, we have the military force to crush your simple nations within a week. Do not trifle with the Kraven Corporation..

Four Brigades massed around the Novus Romus border, and four brigades massed around The Aeson border, and who the Corporation struck first, nobody knew...

Jones reacted fast.

He quickly shifted most of his tanks southward, along with 1000 men. He personally led them to the crest of the hill to their south.

However, the enemy had advanced faster than they had thought.

The small flanking force of 2000 natives rushed up the hill, and were already within twenty yards of their position.

"Fire, men!" Major Jones shouted, "Fire!" The men with assault rifles opened fire immediatly, but the heavy machine guns took a moment to set up. The main tank turrets lost a lot of their effectiveness that comes with long range, and could not fire their explosive shells for fear of collateral damage, but still did devastating damage when they hit someone. The heavy machine guns mounted on the tanks did far more damage at this range.

It seemed that this flanking force was made of genrally all around better troops than the rest of the force, as they were upon them in moments.

With a bloody war cry they swung their swords and thrusted their spears, and the front Errikan line collapsed into an all out brawl. It came down to bayonet versus spear.

The heavy machine guns on the tanks continued to fire beyond the front lines into the masses of natives. Suddenly, a large collection of natives riding horses broke through the front lines and strormed at the tanks. Jones turned hsi pistol, which had been aimed behind the enemy front lines, at the advancing cavalry charge. Retreat was no option.

It was then that one native, whose horse had been shot less than a second earlier, threw a rudimetary granade, which was little more than explosives tied to a Moltov cocktail of sorts. It hit the ground just under the main tank.

The explosion disabled the tank, injuring and incapacitating all inside. Jones, who had been directly next to the tank, was thrown from his horse.

Jones scrambled to his feet as quickly as he could, shouting to his men to reform the lines and unloading his pistol into the remainder of the cavalry charge. Just as one paricularly fiesty native had Jones in his sight, Jones pointed his pistol directly at him and squeezed the trigger.

He qickly realized that he was out of ammo, not so much from the minor clicking sound that had replaced the sound of the weapon firing, but from the fact that the angry savage was still charging at him.

Aesonic settlements thus far are only along the coastal regions. If you advance through our lands you will remain away from the coasts. That said we have no current desire for war with Kraven and will not interfere with your operations.

The native swung his sword around above his head as he approached Jones. After less than a moment of thought, Jones realized what he must do.

He quickly turned and ran as hard as he could.

Jones leaped unto the still smoking tank, hopping over the turret and jumping off the other side. The native charged up quickly, stepping from his horse unto the tank, following Jones as quickly as he could. He readied his sword and came to the edge of the tank, hoping to kill his opponent whilest he cowered behind the tank.

He found himself staring down a shotgun.

Jones fired, quickly eliminating the savage. He had remembered the three dozen "trench guns" (meaning shotguns with bayonets) that he had had brought up the hill when they had advanced for the counter attack. There had been no time to distribute them, so they had just been set down next to the main tank.

The Major climbed back over the tank, jumping onto his late opponent's horse and riding down to the very front lines.

His men were doing well. The savages were brutal and fanatic, but so were the Errikans. On average, they were larger than the natives (all that Germanic blood), and their intensive training produced hard, strong men who knew a thing or two about how to use a bayonet. Also, the fierce nationalism and pride of the Errikan soldiers may have even outweighed the fanaticism of the natives. An Errikan would never allow himself to give ground to such lowly creatures as these savages.

Jones quickly barked orders from just behind the front lines, and the trench guns (as well as flamethrowers, which had also been brought up) were quickly distributed, and the tide of the battle turned.

At the sight of flames spurting from weapons and engulfing their men, the morale of the natives took a serious blow. Against all of their beliefs, many natives fled, risking being struck down by their gods out of shame rather than being swallowed up by the guns that spurted hell itself.

Soon all that remained of the enemy in the south was a hundred men in full rout. Jones sent several tanks to destroy them utterly while he joined the main battle.

The savages had been unable to effectively advance any further in the main battle. It was clear that all of their hopes for victory had lain in the flanking force hitting the Errikans from an unexpected direction. With the flanking foce destroyed, all the Errikans had to do was defend their current position until all of the enemies were destroyed. Of course, had any of the flanking force escaped, they could have warned the rest of the natives and begun an organized retreat. None escaped the tanks.

By the next morning, the fighting was over.

The Errikan casualities had been very low, although many had been injured. Thousands upon thousands of natives lie dead and scattered across the field. A couple dozen had escaped.

Jones gave his men a day of rest and recooperation before the advance continued the very next morning.

IC: In the port of Al'esh in Praganova the countries first fleet was being hastily prepared to depart for the land of Arterus.
Rows of ships sat in the ports massive dry docks where they were loaded with supplies for the journey to Arterus. The fleet consisted of 2 hawk class carriers, 1 helicarrier, 4 Arc class destroyer, 3 swift class cruisers, 2 missile destroyers, 2 missile cruiser, 2 anti sub frigates and 2 attack submarines. 3 troop transports, 3 vehicle transports and 2 supply ships were also being prepared. The Pragnovan militaries 5 large Ekranoplans had also been loaded with troops and equipment and were ready to depart. The 1st army was stationed in nearby barracks where they waited to board the transport ships.
The fleet would be ready in around a week and would depart for the southern part on the main continent of Arterus.

OOC: As I said in the post could I have some of the land on the south of the largest continent on the most southern peninsula that isn't taken. Could the colour of my area be white if possible.

With most of the imperial powers in the area occupied with their war, and the outstanding victories over natives in the region, General Roberts decided that it was time for the biggest land grab in Errikan history.

Our forces originally arrived in the region with the intention of annexing it, not needlessly killing. We did annex it, and all was fairly peaceful. Then, the natives in question (from outside of our territory) raided our borders and encoraged insurrection within our borders. Only then did we send military forces to destroy them. Even then, we only destroyed those that were hostile to us. So, there was in fact no "unneeded slaughter" as you say.

As you may have seen or read, I have documents proving that the villages in question were abandoned before our troops reached there. Thus, no one in the villages were killed.

Our reports also say that the army that faced them had soldiers as young as fourteen. Of course, that would only be an estimate based off their remains, but one may consider them children. If you do, then yes, hostile children were killed. However, they had taken up arms against us and were actively trying to kill our soldiers at the time. If that disqualitifes them from the category, then no.

Hundreds of thousands of natives were enslaved and sent back to Whyatica for the slave camps, or executed out right. The Oberstkampf Furher in charge of Arterus operations read the diplomatic fury between two enemy nations and laughed, he thought,

Now that the complaints have been withdrawn against me, I assume it is becuase I have cleared my name with my argument in Operation: Saving Grace. To those who had complained and withdrew their complaint, I would like to thank you for finally believing me.

Also, I must note that, during all of the proceeedings, rumor spread amoungst the native people that I was going to round them up and kill them all (it may be from when you said I was slaughtering natives), and so they have fled my territory in droves. Future guides, contributing members to society and possibly citizens fled my country for good, and I hope that the withdrawl of this complaint will stop the remainder from fleeing. The invasion force of 100,000 Imperial Shadow Legionaries had finally landed on the mainland part of the Barony of Galick. They were immediately ordered to begin mobilization against the eastern border. (I assume?) The 4,000 Shadow Legionaries that had captured the mainland territory was ordered to guard the border to the west were the armies of the Errikland had expanded all the way across. This was seen as a possible threat and the Shadow Legionaries were going to guard the border incase the Errikland's Imperial military decided to get hostile.

The Luftwaffe was building bases on the isthmus thus giving the Grand Shadow Empire a large amount of control over it's own air space. The Imperial Navy continued to patrol the coast looking for threats of these new powers that were threatening the land of Arterus.

The Baron Xavier Galick noticed the sudden presence of wars and now Kraven forces landing on the continent. The Baron knew that the Grand Shadow Empire did not have any international relations with Kraven and that meant they could prove to be a threat to the Grand Shadow Empire.

He sent a request to the Emperor requesting more ships, men, and aircraft incase the Kraven menace decided to move towards Deatharonian controlled territory…

The Gwazzarian protective claim had developed surprisingly well. The local nations were not too difficult to unite, once word got around that the Gwazzarians were the ones willing to help. Most of the nations had formed into an alliance (called the Tacualteu League by Gwazzarians and people of the Dalc-Wea Union).

New Aumpqua had been swelling in size, and was now a permanent settlement with the flag of the Grand Duchy and the Union tabard flying side by side.

On the other side of the isle from New Aumpqua, around the Northeast, the Gwazzarian Navy had begun construction of bunkers and listening posts. The rest of the region was enveloped by more expansionistic nations, and no one wanted the wars to spread to Tacualteu.

The recent events concerning Zukariaa were confusing and frightening for the Gwazzarian government. They'd just taken control of an entire former ally's country, and intelligence reports were saying something about some kind of 'craven agents' (terrorists, it was assumed). As such, a rather large portion of the fleet was patrolling the channel between Zukariaan-held land and Tacualteu.

Then I select the crop tool (the upper rightmost tool, which looks like a box made of dotted lines), then draw around the section of the image I want to "crop," or cut out. Then, I right click inside the selection, select copy, then open a new paint document and paste. Presto!

Other image editors have crop options as well.

The portable docks were dragged along by tug boats. as soon as they were set up cargo ships docked, ladened full with luggage and people. People dismounted from the ships, chatting excitely and scouting areas where they could make a farm or ranch. Builders dismounted and surveyed the land, looking for the best possible location for a new city.

The vehicles brought in soon dissappeared as people went outwards seeking free land. Other people wished to open up businesses in the coast. A forest had been discovered and timber was sold to the companies making buildings. Others used the timber to construct homes. Tents were set up as temporary homes. a large dock was being build so that more ships could come in. Later, a larger, more permanent dock would be planned.

IC: Curiously, although GCR forces traveled from the mainland to Liantao Province from the north, the new Arterusian territories were not discovered till now. Once the news of new territories reached the Premier, he immediately ordered GCR forces to establish a foothold there.

Two days later, GCR marines gained control of the four unclaimed islands directly north of Liantao Province.

The Royal Army's 1st Expeditionary Group dropped in 1,000 of its ground units, including army contractors, into the unclaimed land in the far northeast.

Tent city was set up, and the contractors went out to survey the land.

The contractors called in the flyboys, and the 4th Heavy Airborne Brigade took off from Stech International Airbase, Royal Code Capital City. The units are expected to arrive in a couple hours with armor and the means to establish an immediate defensive coastline perimeter.

More and more Frenzian Citizens had moved to the colony.The colony now had 1 joint military base,and many checkpoints along the borders.Their were 2civilian cities,both with ports being built.Oil fields and mines were up and running and there were now more troops in the colony.General Howe saw that a few nations had taken borders around him and ordered his men to take anything not yet claimed on the island.He was most interested in making sure that he had acess to both the Northern and Southern coasts.

OOC: sorry about my earlier posts not being clear about what I wanted. I have now decided to claim land in northArterus here’s the islands I would like to claim( the islands in the black box are the ones I want to claim).
