This is usually done for RPs and such, but I'm ill and have taken tylenol and am now bored. Why don't we have a huge ass map with your NS country on it? I'm far too lazy to make an original one, so we'll use a map of the world. Just name one area/nation as your own.

:pDamn, I spent too long collating the list of countries I would like to have. I would have included China as well, but that had already been taken.

I'll probably start with Uzbekistan. I'd annex the remaining parts of Ferghana valley from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. There's bugger all those mountain countries could do to stop me. I'd build a pipeline throu the Caspian sea to Iran and Russia to securely ship gas and oil out of the country. I'd then take the Syr Darya from Kazakhstan and any populous regions of the country whilst I'm at it (like Almaty, Astana, Karaganda, Shymkent, Semey, Turkestan, and the strategic port of Aqtau, which would then become the primary means of shipping oil and gas out of the country). After taking Almaty I would proceed to capture the source of the Syr Darya in Kyrgyzstan. With this accomplished I would turn my attentions south to Turkmenistan and the Amu Darya, and then to the source of the Amu Darya in Tajikistan. Having consolidated most of Central Asia I would complete a programme of switching the region away from cotton production to agricultural production that requires less water. A huge water conservation programme would be put in place and I would attempt to ensure the region is able to recieve clean piped water through out the year.

Free movement of people would be allowed and foreign companies invited to invest in commercial ventures to at least construct such infrastructure to allow commercial operations at the various resource rich areas of the region.

Control over religion would slowly be relaxed, allowing many communities to pray as they see fit and ensure their attentions aren't focused on an over bearing state, nor a dysfunctional economy that is intentionally running them into the ground.

Russian would be reinstated as the language of government and business, but major languages would be allowed in all other circumstances (for business products and services can be sold in any langauge so long as there is a clear Russian translation). Free Russian language lessons would be made available for those who need it.

Attempts would be made to restore healthcare and literacy rates to Soviet era levels - 99.9% for literacy rates. This would be accomplished by pumping in additional funds aquired from an improving economy due free enterprise being allowed to take place and oligarchies dissolved.

I think I have most of my bases covered for at least a year. I'd have to see how things developed from there.

I would expect to have a population of 60 million spread over approximately 4 million sqkm. I would also expect a staggering rate of growth in the economy.
