I'm just back from a very, very disappointing blind date. Up until now, I would have been one eagerly telling people that looks don't really matter at all in any form of relationship, at least to me.

I'm afraid I have to revise that statement a fair bit now. I've met two guys online recently, one who I thought might have been "relationship material", and one who's clearly going to be a one night stand, if anything.
Now, today I've met the first of the two guys. And right from seeing him I just knew that this was going nowhere, ever. There simply wasn't anything about his looks that I liked... and the worst bit were his fingernails, chewed to the bone. He even chewed on them while we were talking. *shiver I just made up an excuse to get out of there, fast.
Now, I haven't met the other guy yet, but we've exchanged a couple of pics. If that's really him on those pics, I SO want to jump his bones. Relationshipwise, that's going nowhere, either, but, oh boy, hothothothothot.

I'll take the latter two. Imagine how horribly awry someone who is a hermit with crossed head-wires must have gone. What really gets my attention is the personality. The looks are just the box, but I've usually got x-ray vision. There's just something about the mental stimulation that I find irresistable.

I've noticed that if you really love somebody, weather they're physically very beautiful or not, they start to seem more beautiful to you, in your mind. How you look at them changes I guess. I know it sounds cheesy, but you have to admit, if you really love somebody, it doesn't matter near as much how they look. I mean, my best friend, who I used to date (long time ago, we kinda had a mutual breakup and have been best friends for years after), she's a pretty girl, but I have to admit that she's not the most physically beautiful girl I've ever seen by any means, but I just love her so much and she's so great on the inside that on the outside, I start to not necessarily care less about how she looks, but to almost think she's alot prettier then she really is. Like if I didn't know her, and I saw her walking down the street, I'd be like "oh, she's kinda hot, has a nice ass" but not like "jaw dropping" hot. But now when I look at her, even though one part of my brain knows she's not jaw dropping hot... she still is to the part of my brain that matters. Weird, but cool.

You could. I'd just put it in quotes. I doubt it has any one origin anymore. Prolly too old and commonly used. Shakespeare's great. I like being able to understand language more than most. I think as long as the person has some redeeming physical attribute, like the nice ass your friend has, or a charming smile or something, then usually their personality can make up for a lack of other good looks, presuming they have a good personality.

I don't think I'm in the majority in thinking this,though.
