Depends. Magic is sometimes needed, for some of them are really tough or can heal very quickly. That's what makes Demons difficult to get rid of.

Spirits however, can be gotten rid of by faith, or the wealker ones can. the stronger the spirit, the harder it becomes untill you need POWER to back it up.

Like that Mae-banshee... She was too strong for me, and unfortunatly Mystra wasn't around to help me. :(

Very good orchid... that was a simple spirit, one of many that are content to just watch the world and not really interact with it. easy to get rid of, but a good type to start with.
