I was referring to the fact that, at the time of writing, there were loud noises outside my window. Rain and some guy skateboarding in his driveway after midnight, when it's pitch black outside. He's weird.

Actually I have...cause I like eggs...but other than that I'm not a big breakfast person. If I wake up early I'll just eat normal "lunch" or "dinner" food, if not just a bar and a coffee.

As for greater development with one, ya I mean to each their own. I never said you had to have more than one, it's just my typical style. In my Civil War RP, I easily had over 30 characters lol. Looking back on it now, I'm actually glad you did what you did, as this RP is somewhat of a blend of styles. Like I said in a previous post, it has a good blend of my typical type of long-ass posts with a lot of dialogue that stand alone, as well as a good variety of back and forth posts more common in character RPing.

Aye, I got 4 and a half hours last night and feel refreshed...I think I have a problem lol

Anyhow, before I get accused of "ripping off" something coming up (not what I've been referring to lately...just a name of a character) I figure I should just throw this bit of info out there. In all of my RP's, I make an allusion to something. This could be dialogue from a movie, a song a character is listening to, a theme, or in the case of this RP: a character's name and his relation to another character. I know Rave will catch it, as it will be fairly obvious to her, although I'm not sure the rest of you will. Either way, it's not that important, I just don't want to be accused of being unoriginal, as I have once in the past. I'm, in fact, being purposefully unoriginal. Other than the time I mentioned, these allusions have went quite well.

Ahh...it feels refreshing to post.

Anyhow, I threw some more foreshadowing in there as well as the allusion I was referring to. You'll find, Rave, and anyone else who notices, that it goes a bit beyond a simple name. Worry not, however, as it's nothing TOO ridiculous or TOO close to the source.

Well I'm back. now to read all the RP posts and see what I can add.

Sun ish in the lab now. if anyone wants to talk or observe. She is working rather quickly, diligently, more so than usual so...yea....

Oh...I'm back early by the way.

But anyhow...that was some good stuff. Rave and I were talking over aol about RP, and how we really seem to like it. It has a lot going for it, and seems far deeper than a majority of the stuff on NS.

That's not just me being egotistical either...a lot of what has made this good so far has come from you all, and last but not least us working together. I wish NG and DMG would be around more, because the four of us are really making this thing something special.

It's really too bad there aren't RP awards anymore like there were years ago lol. I'm not sure if you guys feel the same way or not, but I'm beyond impressed with the material, characters, interaction (both between our own characters and with each others'), and emotion we've seen so far...and unlike you guys I know most of the plot twists lol so I'm really impressed with the plot as well.

I know that looking back on some of my older RP's, even ones that were "hailed" as outstanding (read one of the threads that are listed in one of the stickies as an example of good RP...lol...it's almost embarassingly bad and I'm called a good writer because of it), pale in comparison to this already. It's already up there with my best work on NS, mainly because of what's to come, but also thanks, in a large part, to who I'm RPing with.

Other than with Tappee, I've never quite had the feeling of RPing strictly among peers, and other than Realm of the Risen II and parts of my Civil War, Tappee and I didn't quite have the depth of material to work with that we do now.

Well, SB, I have to agree with you. I think this RP has been pretty damn fine so far, and I have to wonder just what you've got in mind. I know what you mean about old RPs, too, and agree more than you know.

Simon's mantuition is on the blink. He might end up talking to Sun or someone else about it. I don't want him talking to James about it until later, mostly because James is busy and I want Simon to interact more with other people.

I know, I just didn't want to cut you guys off when you're on a role. Should I wait for you two to tell me when to post? It's going to be rather huge, and undoubtedly the conversations your characters have following it will be far different than those they had before it, so I don't want anything to go unsaid.

As for your idea, alas, it was my original plan way back in the planning stages of this RP. However, I felt that it didn't do enough justice to the story, as specially as it evolved into what it is today, and I didn't want the reason to be found just because no one thought about it before.

By all means though, I'll lay off on incorporating it into one of my posts and allow you to do it with one of your characters...thinking it may be that but ultimately ending up wrong. I have the reason in my head already, and it's kinda a multi-step reason.

There was really nothing else I could do with him, except make him one of those "unlikely heroes" who grows throughout the story, and I really didn't want to do that. Besides, his death is a catalyst. It's shocking and it signals the end of the beginning, so to say.

George had more of a backbone in his final moments that he had his entire life, but befittingly to George, he was wrong in his assumtion and died a rather meaningless death. My favorite part I wrote out of both of those posts was:

It was a needlessly unfortunate ending for a needlessly unfortunate man, and while shocked in his final moments, George was not sad. For the first time in his life, he had done something. For the first time in his life, he had lived. The irony of dying in his one true moment of life, of course, was lost on George.

I think that sums up his character perfectly lol.

As for Jim, I had actually planned on him getting out of the cave fine, figuring that with everyone coming and going all the time he wouldn't have a hard time of just leaving. I liked the idea of him getting back to his people and telling them what was going on.

Still, your idea is rather promising as well. I figure that Jim is somewhat of a community character instead of being "my character" so if you want you can have somewhat of a manhunt within the cave for him (or leave chasing after him), as long as he ultimately gets out.

He needs to tell the others, or we're pretty much back to where we were, just with George being dead.

A biologist, Steven had dabbled in medicine before deciding on working in the lab. However, whether or not his skills were “decent” was up for debate.

Quickly he rushed to Simon, grabbing the man under the shoulders and laying him down where he collapsed. His nose seemed broken, his lip already swollen, and a few teeth were even missing. As Steven scanned the rest of his body, he also noted bloody knuckles, and there were undoubtedly bruises to other parts as well. He shined a flashlight in Simon’s eyes.

"Damnit I think he has a concussion," Steven shouted.

A person with a Grade 2 concussion must discontinue sports activities for the day. He or she must be observed by a medical professional and be observed throughout the day until all symptoms have disappeared. If symptoms become worse or continue beyond a week, further brain tests, such as a CAT scan, may be necessary. The person cannot return to contact sports until one week after symptoms have disappeared and a medical professional has given permission.

A person with a Grade 3 concussion should be seen immediately by a medical professional. If symptoms are severe, brain tests and hospitalization may be necessary. Prolonged unconsciousness and worsening symptoms require immediate examination by a neurologist.

lol silly me...I guess the pool of blood on his face would be unusual for a usual beating...

The jaw might be at a funny angle (the crack runs up the side of his left cheek), the knuckles and nose would be instantly noticeable, the concussion has already been discovered by the flashlight-in-the-eyes trick, and the teeth were noticed by Steven. Most of it would probably be easily visible. Biggest sign for the jaw/teeth? The fact that he's cough/spitting/vomiting blood.

Also, he's probably bleeding from several other places on his body - I know he's bleeding fairly heavily from the left temple, where Jim kicked him while he's down - the injury that gave him the concussion.

I'm posting soon...and Blastit, with Steven out of the way for a while (you'll see in my upcoming posts), Chris will have more to do since there will be one less person there.
