Somewhere in Espias
Josef thought about Gracia's idea as they moved. If they were actually able to disguise themselves as government supporters, they might actually have a chance. The only problem was how they were going to get around to doing it.
"Don't they all dress like civilians?" Josef remarked. "Unless you plan to take out some Government troops and take their uniforms."

City Tyrosor
Julia nodded. "But that's hard enough to do by itself." She needed time to think of something clever. In the meantime...
"Get the stuff distributed." She ordered to a nearby stormtrooper, who nodded and ran off. She turned to the rebel "We'll have your people fighting like real soldiers in no time."

(OOC: Slazland, i assume your first post was a message)
To The Armed Republic of Salzland,
We understand your concern but you must understand that any hostile action towards your ships is not doe by us, as we are too busy with internal affairs to attack merchant vessels.
Your offer to provide humanitarian aid is much appreciated, those who are in need of it most are the small hamlets and villages that are far away from the cities and because of riots and fighting are either unable or unwilling to risk entering the cities and are therefore cut off from resources.
Sincerely,
http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm34/glostickx/Picture4-14.png

Gracia did not answer as they made their way cautiously down the streets. Spotting what looked like a patrol they ducked into a doorway, a group of people, all of whom were armed passed and they remained quiet and hidden as they passed by. There was something about the patrol, only about two of them were in military uniform the others were dressed as civilians. The group passed them by not noticing them. when they were out of earshot Gracia whispered
“Did you notice them, the civilians, they wore orange armbands with a symbol on them”
***
The rebel nodded
“Quite a few of us were soldiers at some point” not him though, he had not served his compulsory service yet but quite a few had. He watched the stuff getting unloaded.

OOC: I made the number of troops ships realistic as possible,so as such I had to up the number of ships protecting them. Those if you want me to cut down the number of ships for the sake of the RP. Then you have to ingore that I wouldn't have enough ships to carry my troops...:P Unless of course everybody cuts down on the number of troops they use...

IC As the Whiskeasy fighters planes approached the Fighter4u carriers they were slammed with radio messages.
"Unknown fighters you are approaching a no-fly zone, turn back now.I repeat you are approaching a no fly zone. Turn back now."
"Unknown fighters you are entering a no-go zone. Turn back or you will be fired upon."
But as the miles lessen between the fighters and Fighter4u carriers.
"Unknown fighters this is your last warning, turn back now or you will be fired upon. I repeat, turn back now or be fired upon."
If they did not heed this message then the escorts ships would have no choice but to fire. And fire they would, as each plane now had nearly three thousand sea sparrows locked upon their airplanes and with every increasing moment, the pressure to fire was increasing. If they did not turn back. They would be destroyed.

The fighters got closer and closer before peeling of and the squadron leader spoke into the mike. "Warning Fighter4u shipping. As off 1900 hours yesterday you are now forty nautical miles within Whiskeasian national waters, the national waters have just been expanded to alleviate the fishing tariffs. Depart immediately or be treated as an invasion force. In that case appropriate force will be used. Out." With that the squadron bore away a couple doing barrel rolls in formation as they headed back to base.
The subs were amassing, if a war kicked off it would be the single greatest moment of submarine warfare in the world. Thousands of ships and thousands of torpedos. Missile ships were also amassing and the prime beach landing jones were being fortified and mined. The reserves were called up and shelters prepared. If a war was going to happen, Whiskeasy was going to be prepared.

The Admiral upon hearing the message from the Whiskeasy flight commander quickly checks went to his computer and googled "Fishing Tariffs" and "National Waters". Upon reading said information he dispatched a message to High Command who kicked it over to the Office of Foreign Affairs. Half an hour later a message was send to the Whiskeasy government.
To:Whiskeasy
From:Fighter4u Office of Foreign Affairs
We do not recoginse the expasnison of your national waters as you have not offically relase any treaties or signed the *whatever* treaty of 1964 and gone to the approvative international body for them to approve your borader expansion. As such we will not heed your warning and instead will refuse to be bully by your nation. We will make a stand in what is INTERNATIONAL waters & stop your imperialism attempts to unlawfully expand your boraders through threats of violence agaisnt the peaceful exserices taking place within internationally recgsize international waters. As such we adivse you to rethink your actions.
Those luckily for you, our nation wants peace. So we offer you a deal. If our fleet is causing you such a problem that you must feel the nesscary of using the threat of war to displace us from international waters. Then in return for your fleet outside of Fiction international waters that is also conducting peaceful exesrices. Returning to its naval bases and not going within 250 miles of Fiction or our allies waters. Then we will do the same.

OOC: Fighter4u, you can't have a no-fly zone in international waters...and if you're so interested in international law and verifying territorial waters based on international acceptance, maybe you could point us in the direction of an international body which sets the presidents for this situation?
You give up your neutrality in international waters the moment you threaten another neutral ship. Sovereign states have the right to defend themselves against threats, even if those threats are not operating in their territorial waters.

OOC: Hey that what Whiskeasy told me. That I had to delcare a no fly zone. And yeah I think we have to assume that their a international body or else how can we (the NS world) know what international waters are? Unless your terriorty waters consits of how much you can protect. Also I hadn't threaten him at all. Hes the one lanching military fighters planes aganist me and threatening me with war. I have not threaten a single ship and I made sure to make that clear in my RP posts. And if thats so. Then Whiskeasy fleet off the coast of Fictions is a threat that I am allowed to destroy as it threatens a ally. No?
Beside my IC defense is quite vaild,so is his. It just depends on which story you wanna believe in. I just waiting for him to fire the first shot and attack me. Then you guys can't say I started the war.
OOC: Apologies for the long absence. Have had problems with my internet connection for a few days.
City Germuarur
Juán was silent as he drove the car through the streets. He kept the rear view mirrors under constant surveillance, checking if someone was following them. As they finally reached the Intercity and left Germuarur behind them, he seemed to relax. From here there would hopefully be no problems reaching Majevul. With a faint smile he turned to Eleanor.
"How long will it take us to reach Majevul?"
City Eris
Fighter squadrons from the aircraft carriers patrolled over the city as the governmental forces slowly took back district after district from the rebels, showing their presence and willingness to attack anyone who thought of resisting. Beneath them, three frigates were approaching their harbour, carrying a team of liaison officers and naval security personnel. The commander of the fleet wanted Eris a base from which he could strike against the rebels in the inland, especially in Majevul. It would also function as a base where Zaheranian reinforcements, if needed, could land in relative safety. From the flagship of the fleet, a message was sent to the local government, informing them that the team was coming and asking them to meet the Zaheranians.

OOC: Huh? You're threatening his shipping and parking a battlefleet off his coast. Quite obviously that's an act of war--why else would you be there?
OOC: Actually I hadn't. His shipping is freely going pass my fleet as it wishes and I we even escorted ships for a while when merchant shipping was having a problem rerouting around my fleet to ensure no collisons happened. And yes we did have some new pliots along with a few cowboys who flew a little to close to some ships recently. But they have all been rightfully pusihed with the docking of pay. The main reason why we are here is to project power(Like the U.S used to do with their carriers) using gunboat diplomatic to show Whiskeasy who he dealing with when his parked HIS BATTLEFLEET off the shore of Fictions first with the OOC intentions of overthrowning the Fasict goverment of Fiction as it was in a civil war. My harrasment of his shipping for a shore while was to get him to pay attention to my fleets. After all he was ingorning it and as he has a Democractic government I would think people would be questioning why my fleet is their and have by now noted that Whiskeasy has a fleet parked near Fictions and start connecting the dots.
I have kept on hinting in my IC messages to him that if his battlefleet near Fiction is withdrawn,so I will withdrawn mine from his international waters. But no far he showed no desire to do so. Instead he try to cause a war by lanching fighter aircraft at my fleet which is conducting peaceful exericses in international water. If conducting peaceful exericses in international water is thought of as a threat of war. Then Whiskeasy has already given me a reason to go to war agaisnt him by doing the same to Fiction who is my ally who currently is/was in the middle of a civil war.
Not to forget the bad predecent you be setting if you decide that the peaceful exericses in international waters thingy is a act of war. Then that means every nation who has ever used that as a excause to parked a battlefleet near a enemy was conducting a act of war.
Not to forget you have pointed out due to the lack of a international body like the WA. Their is actually no way to decide what is or isn'tinternational waters anyway.
So to sum it up. My IC reason for being their is the same IC reason Whiskeasy has for parking a battlefleet of the coast of Fiction. Its conducting peaceful exericses which is not a act of war at all. Also ICly I have done noting to threaten Whiskeasy shipping(My government postion & ICly you have no way to prove otherwise)but instead have helped them well Whisheasy had lanched fighters to play chicken with my carrier group,& tried to expand his international waters to include my battlefleet so he can lanched a attack upon them.(Which ICly you do know. But ICly you didn' tknow about my carriers kill zone, which Whiskeay didn't ICly know about either, but still ICly lanched fighter jets to fly over my carrier, with a lame IC excause. In other words he wants to start a war where he can claim I attacked him so he can drag ODECON into the war,and as such, use you guys.) Why else would my fleet radar be picking up the presences of alotta submarines being massed close to my fleet location? I am entirely within the right to do what I have done and have pausblie IC reasons for my actions which you have no way of knowing if their true or not. So if your are actually the ODECON that serves only good. You would not become invole as I have done noting wrong while in every case Whiskeasy has plainly showned a wish for war. I on the otherhand do not want to go to war. I simply want him to withdrawn his battlefleet which is threatening Fictions and then I withdrawn my battlefleet. Besides why would I attack a member of ODECON? As I NOT a member of the IFA, I would be on my own unless they chose to help defend me. Which I can't see why they would do unless they justed wanted a excause to fight you. But if Whiskeasy doesn't withdrawn his battlefleet and keeps up his threatening actions then their may end up being a ODECON/IFA war which Whiskeasy and such, ODECON started as the hostile attacker attacking without any good moral or "legal" reason. Which I understand is agaisnt what ODECON stands for in the first place.

OOC: Despite the fact I literally can't read half that post, I get the gist of it. While technically Whiskeasy can set his own territorial limits, and technically "peaceful exercises" at sea wouldn't involve any land forces at all, and technically you're wasting massive amounts of money resupplying a GIGANTIC fleet which is sitting around doing nothing, I get the gist of it.
Whiskeasy, if his ships aren't doing anything, just let them be. He's trying to provoke a war.

OOC: :p
IC: Admiral Yelcan studies his options and wondered what to do next. His country needed his fleets to be elsewhere and yet they were just sitting around doing noting. Well...sitting around doing noting in Whiskeasy waters. After all it wsn't his fleet fault that they extended the territorial limits out of the blue and that they were within those limits. Fighter4u still resgioze the old territorial waters. As such to them they were still twenty-fives miles out of Whiskeasy territorial waters. It was time to get closer and because of the enemy sub presence he would have to order the fleet FECOM to FECOM 2. And he also gave the order to fire if fired upon. Fighter4u would end the end of this matter one way or the other.
Sailors scrambled to their posts and addition F-35s jets were send up to defend the skies and to provide protection to addition EA-6B Prowlers & ES-3 Shadows planes. While the fleets escorts were told to remain a very high outlook for submarines attacks as they were a high probabitly.

The group sent to meet the Zaheranians was small, as most of the forces were needed in the city, but as it had been requested one had been sent, The group was made up of about three soldiers, two government officials (who were also armed and not useless, most people tend to forget military service is compulsory so they would have spent at least two years in the army) and two vigilantes who has insisted on coming along.

Red lights flashed, people were shouting and paper was flying everywhere. Out from his office walked General Abe Smith of His Majesties Whiskeasian Army. He shouted over the din "Turn that fire alarm off! Stop watching the football and for God's sake, stop throwing paper airplanes! It's like a bloody school in here!" A small balding fellow with spectacles siddled up to him and said "Fighter4u fleet is moving towards territorial waters sir. They are closing with the borders fast."

Juán glanced at his watch. Two hours. He didn't want to arrive to early, as he had been informed that a salvo of cruise missiles would reach Majevul shortly, but if the rebel was correct, they would arrive about half an hour after the missiles had hit. Perfect. The rebels in the city would be desperate for help, hopefully desperate enough to not ask too many questions. If he managed to get close to Gracia, a few meters would be enough, he could end the rebellion in a few seconds.
City Eris
The frigates slowly made their way to the quay, carefully checking for possible dangers and ambushes. Finally, after about a quarter of an hour, they moored alongside the quay. Gangways were extended and the members of the liaison team walked out. Their leader, a man in his late twenties with captain's insignia on his white ceremonial uniform, walked towards the welcoming committee with a warm smile on his lips. When he reached them, he saluted smartly and extended his hand.
"Captain Max Raulberg at your service, sirs. I apologize for the mess we have created in the city, but we deemed it necessary to defeat the rebels. His Majesty's government will pay for the damage caused, of course. I presume you are more or less in control of the city by now?"

In the place he was using as an office Drabek leaned back in his chair, he had just approved a missile strike in his own country, oh well, he shrugged at least ow the rebels would know what it was like to have cruise missiles flying at you. He thought for a moment, what had they said, Governor? Never would have used that title for himself, but it worked... Sort of. He found his thoughts wandering.
“Sheryl?”
“Yessir?”
“Do you think Mew II is named after the country, or the country named after her?”
“I wouldn't know sir, probably the former” Sheryl wondered why that was relevant, of course it wasn't.

"Captain Max Raulberg at your service, sirs. I apologize for the mess we have created in the city, but we deemed it necessary to defeat the rebels. His Majesty's government will pay for the damage caused, of course. I presume you are more or less in control of the city by now?"
One of the government officials who seemed to be in charge of the group shook the mans hand
“Pleasure to meet you, I'm Ali Rodgers” He incicated to the other government official “That is Korey Durham”
Korey Nodded a greeting and Ali continued to speak
“Glad you could make it. Your correct, the city is becoming increasingly under our control, as for the damages, we acknowledge that they were necessary. Frankly your help in this situation has proven invaluable.”

As was assured the aid was being put to the use it was intended, the small hamlets scattered around the country were suffering because of the instability of the cities they depended on. Life away from the cities was hard even in peacetime, recourses being scarce and often having to travel several miles to the city for even the most basic of things. Now the cities were closed or too unstable to reach they were unable to sustain themselves. That is where the aid came in, when it arrived anyone who could be spared was sent to distribute it amongst these places.
When these places had received what was needed, the remaining aid was given to those people who lived in the shanty towns on the edges of the cities who were poor and lacked the resources of the inner cities, some of them, most of them lacking running water and electricity. They were affected only in the fact that riots and occasional attacks happened here, but it was felt that they would benefit from it a they had a hard life civil war excluded.

At these words, one of the vigilantes, the youngest, he looked about 18, made to remove his but was stopped by the others.
“Don't even think about it” The one who spoke the words raised his weapon, following his lead the others did the same, he spoke again, this time in English.
“We not help foreign terrorists!” there was venom in his voice, clearly they were not going to co-operate, another one spoke, indicating to Gracia who was hanging around in the back unsure what to do
“Isn't that?”
“Yea...Two million A's on that man”
“Incase you haven't noticed we have a circle of guns pointed right at us”
“Damn, well, I'll fix that”
The one who had spoken in English lowered his weapon but instead of dropping it fired right at whoever was in his range, startling the others around him by his sudden firing they followed his lead and also fired.

The captain bowed his head slightly to the two government officials.
"Thank you, sir. If you need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask. That's what we're here for. But now to the issue at hand. We need to discuss a few things. My commander, that is, Admiral Meyerhof, would like to use this port as a base for the 3rd Fleet, from which we can strike at the rebels further into the inland, and also use to ship in troops and supplies. we believe that this will help the war effort a great deal. Will we have your cooperation on this issue?"

The 48 Tomahawk missiles roared in over the Fictional mainland at subsonic speed, heading for Majevul. In a mere twenty minutes they would start to fall over the rebel-held city. The Zaheranian commanders hoped that the destruction caused would be enough to break the population's morale, forcing them to surrender. If they didn't, the 57th Panzergrenadiers would be forced to take the city by force, a possibly very bloody affair which the Zaheranian government wanted to avoid if it was even remotely possible.
The minutes went past. The missiles' GPS guided them over Fictions towards their goal, over farmlands and villages, over roads and towns. Finally, Majevul was below them, and they began to descend, falling over the unfortunate city like spears from heaven.

Josef watched the display made by the government supporters with something notable as indifference. He had quickly grown weary of their heroics. Or foolishness, it depended how one looked at it. Suddenly, a gun went off, clipping a soldier in the leg. The civilians began to bring their guns up.
"Now." He said calmly, raising his own weapon.
In perfect unison, the soldiers opened fire, directly into the vigilantes.

The armbands seemed to do the trick, once or twice they ran into more groups like the ones they had just encountered but one glance seemed to convince them and they let them be on their way, undeterred. Most did not even approach them, taking it for granted that they were on the same side side. Gracia was relieved about that, had they paid more attention to the people wearing the bands he knew he would be recognized, but people seemed to look past that. It was amazing what people did not see and what details their own minds filled in for them.

What with City Espias once more stable, the army that had been acing there was free to move on and see to it that City Majovul went back under the control of it's rightful government, by now the missile strikes should have already happened, even so it would take time to reach the city. "Thank you, sir. Could you send out a warning so that fishing boats and similar vessels can get clear of the harbour for a while. We've got some pretty large ships coming in, and we don't want to run over anyone."
He turned and shouted a few words in German to his subordinates. They saluted and run off in different directions to carry out their orders. Some would contact the fleet commander and inform him that they could use the city, others were out to find adequate housing for the officers and a large building that could be used to host the fleet headquarters.

"Hey Governor Drabek. Missiles impacted perfectly. We still have another few sets which can be launched to any rebel base at any time. Mew II out."
He opened transmission.
“Right, well done. If more are needed I'll let you know”
This time he made sure the transmission was cut before speaking
“Is that mew like the sound a cat makes?”
“I think so sir. Are you sure this conversation is not being transmitted?”
He checked again
“Positive... Bit of an odd name... Then again I once knew a man called Lithium”
Sheryl perked up “I remember him. Short, kind of skinny, he was the finance minister a few years ago... What happened to him?”
“Led a protest march at some point.”
“Oh...” She sat in silence. People came and went. If you worked in the government you knew what happened behind the scenes. Some could take it, some could not. That's what happened to Gracia, he was one of those who could not. She however could, not only that, she supported it.

Eleanor got out of the car after Juan, staring transfixed at the black smoke rising in great, ominous clouds over the city. She was angry, angry and frustrated. How dare they? How could they kill people, innocent people who have done nothing but want a better life? She clenched her fists to stop herself crying... Crying for all the lives that have been lost, not only now but throughout the whole sad, sorry affair.
"The fascists must pay for this. So many killed, so many wounded, just so they can keep thatv bloody tyrant Drabek in office? I swear, if I ever get my hands on the bastards they will regret this."
She nodded in agreement at these words, to choked with emotion to speak, to make a sound. With great effort she tore her eyes from the scene and managed to speak.

Ali nodded at this and gave a few instructions in Fictin to the soldiers that had accompanied him, they saluted in the appropriate manner and went off to follow their orders. One of the Vigilantes spoke up at this point
"What do you want us to do sir?"
"Nothing yet, you stay here and make sure no rebels come"
"Sure thing sir!"
Ali shook his head, they were keen he'll give them that, but he found their methods a bit too... Overenthusiastic. That is why most of these people, the 'citizens militia' could never be full time soldiers.
City Majevul
Juán nodded, sighed and began to walk back towards the car. He took up the submachine gun and loaded it with a grim expression. They would have to be careful, the missile attack could have caused total civil disorder, with all that it meant. He kept the gun in his lap as he began to steer the car down the road towards the city ahead. The missile strike had been a total success, he saw when he got closer, the damage caused by the forty-eight missiles was gigantic. And soon Zaheranian soldiers would arrive to complete the victory. But first, he had to find Gracia.
City Eris
The Fleet Headquarters had been established in a large villa overlooking the harbour. The previous inhabitants had been given a large sum of money to give up their house, of course, as the Zaheranians didn't want to worsen their relations with the city's populace even more. The same had been the case with the owners of the houses that would be used as quarters for the officers.
A large panorama window in the house's living room gave Admiral Meyerhof an excellent view of the harbour below. An aircraft carrier, he thought it was the HMS India, was making its way into the harbour, guarded by a screen of smaller ships. A number of ships, mostly frigates and destroyers, were already bobbing on the waves inside the harbour. About half of the fleet would fit in, the rest had anchored in the bay outside, where they atleast had some protection against the whims of the open sea.

Surprisingly the city was not in total disorder. What was meant by that was in fact, the city did not have a riot in every street, that is not to say that there was no fighting, because there was. The fighting that was going on were minor squabbles between those who saw the people who wanted to surrender as 'traitors'' and the people themselves.
Most of the people seemed to be more concentrated on finding friends and family that had been caught in the missile strike, clinging on to the hope that they may have survived. Other did what a lot of people do when all order breaks down and just looted every shop they could find that had not been blown to pieces.

What with City Espias well under control, Drabek felt it was time for the government to start making a new stand. There was point in attempting to reinstate A.M.A.P.P.M.I. until the whole country was stabilised, especially as the whole building had been struck down by a missile... God that was going to expensive, It would cost Millions of Ankhs in repairs, A.M.A.P.P.M.I had some of the most advanced surveillance equipment in the country and replacing it all was going to hell on the country's expenses. None the less, it was time for the country to get back to running itself, order would be restored faster if the government was effective. It was a damn nuisance that the ministries office was in CA Aquaria which still had to be stabilised.
“Sheryl, I want things to start running smoothly again, at least in this city, From this point I was City Espias to be known as Acting-Capital Espias, at least until Capital Aquaria is stabilised”
“Yessir, should I start establishing acing-ministries, some of the senior members of ACA Espias A.M.A.P.P.M.I can fill in those positions”
“Yes, I want the city to remain in order, if you can get what is left of the surveillance equipment up and running again that would be good too, and send a message to C. Ibea and C. Norata to do the same”
“Yessir, right away”
The plans were put into action, what was left of the A.M.A.P.P.M.I. Building was searched for any working technologies, and to their surprise they managed to salvage some of the surveillance equipment for the city centre which was put online and had people monitoring it. The Police was being rallied and put on regular beats along with some Vigilantes. The old office building that Drabek was using was turned into a de facto ministries office. In the other two cities, similar operations were being held, The citizens soon knew what was happening. The rebellion, at least in ACA Espias, C. Ibea and Norarta was over. Whether the other cities would follow quietly or be taken by force was still unknown...

What with the government starting to regain it's old type of order combined with the fear of a full military attack such as the ones that have been seen in ACA Espias or a missile strike like that in C. Majovul the people who supported the rebels were ever losing faith. Some stopped fighting all together and tried to get on with their lives, others switched sides or turned themselves in. Yes there were a few citizen rebel supporters who would fight to the death, and what remained of the rebels themselves but their numbers were dwindling as the army and police continued to gain the upper hand in most cities. This was especially strong in City Tyrosor in which the last dregs of rebellion fizzled out by itself, they were foolish. How could they even have fooled themselves that this would work? The only thing they could hope for now was that the government would not be too hard on former rebel supporters. The rebellion in C. Tyrosor was over, over by itself. it was the first city to stop itself almost bloodlessly and actually surrender of it's own will.
City Majevul
Juán drove slowly through the city, avoiding the streets were people were rioting. The sight of the submachine gun, which he now held in his free hand while he drove, would probably discourage would-be looters, but he wasn't taking any chances. his mission was far too important for that. At regular intervals he checked the rear view mirrors to see if someone was following them. It was harder and harder to get forward as they approached city center, as the fighting was growing more intensive.
He finally parked the car in an underground parking lot a few blocks away from the center. As the government rule had collapsed in Majevul he didn't bother to buy a ticket. He emptied the car, in case someone would steal it. Losing the car wouldn't be a great nuisance, as he could always steal another, but he needed his equipment if he were to succeed with his task. Finally, he locked the car and turned to Eleanor.
"Where should we begin to search? Is there any local rebel headquarters?"

Walking out of the parking-lot Eleanor looked around, she knew there was a place that the rebels had been using not too far from here. Spotting it, her heart sank
“Well...That was one of them” She pointed to a building, well, what remained of a building, it was impossible to tell what it once had been.
“But, There is another not too far away” She looked up the street where a new fight was showing promise of evolving into a full blown riot
“But we'd have to get past that lot, or go around but I don't actually know this city very well and I may get lost...”

Despite the fact Eleanor did not know the city very well, they decided to avoid the fight and go around. They wet through alleys and streets occasionally getting lost but eventually they reached a small, shabby looking pub. She knocked on the door and someone on the inside opened it slightly. Recognising Eleanor they opened it further to allow her in. She stepped inside and Juan made to follow but the person stopped him.
“It's ok, he's with me”
Reluctantly the rebel stepped aside to let him in.
City Majevul
The CID agent followed Eleanor as she led the way through the city's alleys and streets towards the rebel headquarters. He noted that she seemed a bit confused. Several times they took the wrong turn or ended up in an dead-end streets, but she always quickly corrected her mistake. Juán nervously thumbed his submachine gun, occasionally giving his watch a worried glance. They only had about two hours, then the Zaheranian ground forces would initiate the final assault on the rebel-held city and they would have to evacuate. He didn't want to be captured by his compatriots, it would lead to too many uncomfortable questions. Sure, he could just ask them to read the chip implanted in his left shoulder, they would have the appropriate instruments, but he would have to kill Eleanor afterwards. As she was currently his only contact in the rebel movement it would cause a big delay in his mission, and he couldn't afford that. Gracia needed to be eliminated as soon as possible.
Finally, they reached a shabby pub which Juán assumed functioned as a cover for the rebel headquarters. The CID personnel monitoring him quickly sent the coordinates to the commander of the 57th Panzergrenadiers, who added it to the list of locations which would be attacked by his assigned aircraft. If the division managed to kill off the local rebel leadership in the first strike, the subjugation of the rest of the defenders would be an easy affair. With a hidden smile Juán followed Eleanor through the door. He stopped abruptly as a muscular and not very smart-looking guard put his hand in his chest. A few words from Eleanor made the brute let go of him. He ajusted his shirt and gave the guard a mischievious smile, then followed her into the pub.
Over Fiction's West Coast
The second wave of heavy transport aircraft entered Fictional airspace, escorted by scores upon scores of fighter-bombers, AEW&C aircraft and tankers. The intimidating armada roared in over the western coast of Fictions as subsonic speed. Farmers and city dwellers alike could see the planes pass over them. Some might have guessed that they were going for Majevul, the only rebel-held city remaining. They would have guessed correctly, the destination was indeed the rebel stronghold. The time had come to retake Majevul and give the rebels a blow from which they could not recover. There would be no more sanctuaries for the rebels, no more places were they could regroup and gather their forces. Soon they would be outlaws, fugitives in their own country. There would be no places to rest, the hunt would be going on across the whole country.

The bar was what you would expect of a place such as this, Shabby furniture and floors which have only ever heard of things such as 'mops' and 'Vacuum-cleaners', except one thing, everyone inside it was a rebel, everyone inside it was armed. Eleanor walked over to a man who was tall, thin and had an AK-47 slung across his back and seemed to be in charge of the place.
They exchanged a few words in greeting and then he spoke, to both of them.
“So, why are you here?”
Eleanor glanced around the bar, she recognised almost everyone there, that was a good sign, she knew these people were on their side and could be trusted.
“Well” She lowered her voice, perhaps out of habit, or perhaps out paranoia despite the apparent trustworthiness of the people here.
“Well, we're looking for Gracia, if you must know”
The rebel leaned back in his chair and put his hands to his head thoughtfully and after a few seconds pause he spoke
“Well, He ain't here”
“Do you know where he is?”
“Nah, haven't a clue”
Someone else who was sitting a few tables down from them smoking a cigarette walked over and placed his hands on the table and spoke to Eleanor.
“He ain't in this city. When we split the base he went to C.Espias.”
City Majevul
Juán looked at the pub interior and pulled a disgusted face. Rebel morale must really be low if they had allowed their headquarters to degenerate to this level. He gripped the submachine gun tighter as he followed Eleanor through the pub. He was deep inside enemy territory now, and aware that if he slipped up, he would be completely on his own. He suppressed the natural instinct to run with an effort. There was only one way left now, and that was forward.
Eleanor seemed to have recognised someone she knew, she was walking with determined steps towards a tall, thin man carrying a AK-47, probably the rebel leader. Juán memorised his features. Memory training had been part of his CID field agent course. If needed, he would be able to describe the man perfectly for years ahead. Likewise, his voice patterns would be recorded by the CID for future reference, maybe given to the AMAPPMI so that they could identify him in case he survived the inbound missile attack.
Juán listened to the conversation with an expressionless face, hiding his disappointment over finding out that Gracia wasn't in the city. Still, if he was hiding in Espias, either the GWO forces or the Zaheranian units guarding the peninsula would catch him.

Eleanor's heart sank, Espias... They would never get there in time. The rebel who had delivered the news glanced at Juan, distrust in his eyes.
“Who's this?”
“Juan...He's on your side”
“Oh yes” He sounded sceptical, this rebel was a typical Fictonian, meaning he had a strong distrust of foreigners, he spoke directly to Juan “Where you from? Who sent you?”
Eleanor glared at the rebel
“That's enough Martin, I trust him, is that not good enough for you?”
The man who was probably called Martin turned away from her with a look of indignation on his face.
“Just tell me this, how much do you really know about him”
“Martin, please. That is enough” This was the thin rebel as yet unnamed, the one who seemed in change, his voice was level but there was a hint of warning in his voice. There was an awkward silence that seemed to last too long, it was shattered however by the door of the pub swinging open and a man, gasping for breath came running in
“More fighter planes.... Coming this way....” He gasped trying to get his breath and deliver the news of the impending air-strike, the largest yet according to rumours and eye witness accounts that had spread at the incredible speed of rumour throughout the country...

A regiment of Naval Infantry landed on the western-coast of Fictions. They would be moving to the last rebel haven city. It was a mechanized unit and would be given air-support once they arrived at the target location, or else called for it.
Juán remained silent during the heated verbal exchange between the three rebels, calmly looking at the man called Martin with a poker face that betrayed nothing of his feelings. He didn't need to look at his watch to know that the attack would start any minute, so he wasn't surprised when the doors swung open and a panicking, completely exhausted man stumbled in, yelling about an incoming air strike. In the general confusion and chaos that followed, he grabbed hold of Eleanor's shoulder and lowered his voice to a whisper.
"We should leave, now. If those rumours are true, we only have a few minutes. We must find Gracia, he is our last hope. And if he stays in this country, he will die, the fascist are too strong. I can get us, and him, out of the country so that we may live to fight another day, but first we must find him. If he is in Espias, the fascists must be close on his heels. Eleanor nodded in agreement, and without saying a word indicated to Juan to follow her as she pushed past the general confusion and ended up back in the streets again. Even here it was possible to tell that the news head spread, the streets were crowded with those running in every direction, trying to escape the city. If they would even stand a chance of reaching Gracia in time they had to leave now too. Before it was too late.
They ran back through the crowded streets towards the car. Juán found his way without hesitating, helped by his photographic memory. The roar of the engines could already be heard in the distance, the planes would be over them any minute. The car was standing where they had left it, incredible enough without visible traces of burglary. Even as he drove out of the parking lot and onto the highway they could hear bombs falling over the northern parts of the city.

The first wave of aircraft to reach the city consisted of 16 F-35 Lightning II's. Their mission was to eliminate the rebel's asbility to strike back against the incoming aircraft and ground forces. The pub that Juán and Eleanor had visited earlier was targeted by four guided missiles, so that no rebel leadership would remain to coordinate the enemy forces. All still-functioning radar sites were targeted by anti-radiation missiles to eliminate the possibility of the rebels striking back with SAM's. All electrical substations delivering electricity to the city were engaged as well, to further decrease the enemy morale. With their ammunition depleted, the planes then turned back and flew away from the darkened city below.
Then came the second wave. 50 F-35's roared in on a low altitude. Missiles and guided bombs fell over every defence position the intelligence division had managed to identify. Mixed with the munitions were propaganda leaflets demanding the immediate surrender of the rebels.
The third wave consisted of the transport planes and their escorts. Their destination was the city's airfields, which had been spared the air force's attention. One after one, the giant aircraft landed. Tanks and IFV's began ro roll out, their first task to secure the vicinity around the airports. People living around the airport could see dozens of grey-painted vehicles roll past, filled with foreign soldiers dressed in urban warfare uniforms.

They reached the Intercity and Eleanor glanced at the rear-view mirror. The city had gone dark and she could see thick black smoke rising from several points, even as she watched more explosions could be heard followed by smoke rising in great billows. She tore her eyes from the scene and tried to keep her emotions under control, but even as she tried she felt her eyes filling with tears, she buried her head in her hands and began to sob. All the emotion she had been keeping back these past few hours coming out in one great burst and now she cried. Cried for the lives that had been lost, cried for those who had lost friends, family, mothers, fathers, children and cried for those who would surely lose their lives in the time that was to come.
Juán sat silent and concentrated on his driving, a sorrowful expression on his face. It was not entirely faked. He had seen his share of death during his fifteen years as a CID field agent, killed more people than he could remember, seen and done things that normal people wouldn't dream of in their worst nightmares. His service had given him a very cynical view of life. That was the way it worked, you either became a cynic or eventually lost your mind. He had seen his share of such cases too. Not that it woul ever happen to him, he had learned to suppress his feelings a long tiome ago.
But now, something new was happening. He had begun to feel compassion for the rebel sitting beside him. The young rebel women who was now crying for the friends she had lost and the friends she would lose. His orders were to kill her when Gracia had been finished, but for the first time in fifteen years he had begun to question his asignment. Would it really be necessary? Without Gracia the rebel movement would be a chicken without a head. While it might run around and flap it's wings for a while, sooner or later it would die. What good could it do to kill even more? He sighed and turned his attention back to the road, putting the problem off. That was a decision he would have to take later. Now he would just try to avoid being killed by his own compatriots.

With the airports secured, the armoured columns slowly began to make their way into the city proper. They moved slowly and carefully through the suburbs, making sure no hostiles remained behind the lines to threaten them. Every time they were met with fire from fortified enemy positions, the division's artillery unleashed a storm of fire on the defenders. Low-flying helicopters and airplanes swept over the streets, strafing them with their gatling guns to keep them free from people. The bombings and missile strikes continued to terrorise the populace to submission. Mounted on the advancing tanks and IFV's were loudspeakers broadcasting demands for the rebels to give up, another step in the psychological warfare campaign. The propaganda leaflets that rained in their thousands over the onfortunate city informed the reader's of the rebels' "atrocities".

(OOC: Oh man, I was busy with the world war and hadn't noticed this had been posted in, thanks mews for brining it to my attention
I'm afraid I'm going to have to time-warp here, This is actually happening a few days before the diplomacy thread related to the war, which in turn is happening a few days after the nuke-- which follows that this is the day of the nuke
Yes the world war has been going on but I been RP as if Majovul was a temporary breakaway so as to avoid confusion)
They had been driving for over an hour and she had shed all her tears and merely sat in silence with her thoughts, and terrible thoughts they were she could only imagine what was going on, but now they were out of sight of the city. Eleanor didn't know what prompted her to turn the radio on but when she did she wished she had not.
“Tragedy the like of which the country had never seen has struck today as what we belie was a nuclear warhead was launched straight into City Espias. The exact number of those dead is unknown but it is believed to be well in the millions. Rescue operations are underway to try and find any survivors... It is believed that our Leader, General Bryce Drabek, was outside at the time of the impact... And... And the Minister of Foreign affairs, Nita Ellison today... Today signed an unconditional surrender-”
Eleanor turned off the radio and sat in stunned silence for a moment, she felt dizzy
“S-stop the car please...” She needed to get out, the car suddenly felt too small. She couldn't, she wouldn't belive what she had just heard, it couldn't be true... Espias couldn't be gone...
OOC: Must have forgotten about this thread too. Anyway, as a matter of convenience for everyone in the "Cry havoc..." and diplomacy thread, I will RP as if my forces in Fictions were withdrawn after Greston's et al declarations of war, but Juán was left behind to continue his infiltration of the rebel movement. I presume Gracia was killed by the nuke as well?
IC:
Juán pressed his foot against the brake and the car came to a stop with a screeching sound. It took a few seconds before he got over the initial shock and began to comprehend what had happened. He could feel the panic rising inside. With the Zaheranian forces evacuated and Drabek's regime gone, he was more or less alone in a possibly hostile country, with no help to expect from his compatriots. It was a nightmare situation. He had to get out of Fictions. At least he still had his passports, he could claim to be a tourist trapped in Fictions by the war. Or an international aid worker, he had such papers as well. But with the population's usual xenophobia coupled with anger over the invasion, he doubted that it would be wise to pose as a foreigner. Better to stay under cover until the situation calmed down.

(OOC: He is missing, presumed dead by the government.
But there is a chance he survived, depending where about in Espias he was at the time, but if he has survived he would be very badly injured)
Eleanor opened the door of the now still car and stumbled out. Her head was spinning and she could barley think. She took several deep breaths trying to clear her head but it was not much use. The radio announcers voice kept reverberating in her head. A nuclear strike was launched against City Espias. That is where they had been going,. Oh god, had they arrived there earlier they would have been caught up in that! She stared at the road, not really seeing it, cars over took them their horns blaring. She knew it was over, everything was over.
“Juan... What are we going to do?” Her voice was weak and sounded as though every word took effort.
He stared at the horizon for a few minutes without answering, his eyes filled with a mixture of anger, sorrow and fear.
"I don't know", he said at last. "Drabek is probably dead, and we have to assume Gracia is gone as well. Without him, the freedom movement will begin to crumble. And I don't think the invaders are going to support you, not now when they have control over the country. With the kind of forces they have, they can hunt down and destroy you without any major effort. We can either run or fight, it won't matter in the long run. The hope of freedom for this country died with Gracia."

Eleanor stared at her feet, she didn't know what she felt.
"It...It's over, isn't it?" Hopelessness, despair, that is what it was. they had lost and she was a dead woman walking. She knew that once things had calmed down they would come for her, for everyone that had been involved and they would show no mercy. And Juan, who had come to help but was now going to face the same fate she was facing...
Juán shrugged. All his usual determination had disappeared, replaced with a slightly apathetic resignation.
"More or less", he answered honestly. "We can probably evade them for a while, but sooner or later they're going to find us. We have two choices now. We can either run and be hunted down like animals, or we can turn and face them, and go down fighting. I'd prefer the second choice, but you can decide if you want. It won't matter much, in the end."

Eleanor didn't reply, she let out a small cry of despair, or maybe it was anger it was hard to tell.
"Bastards! Why Dammit!?" She kicked the wheel of the car breathing heavily, everything they had worked for, everything was gone! Over. There was nothing left for her anymore. She wished she knew what had been going on the rest of the country that nuke had came as a total shock. That was another thing that was gone, another thing that was hopeless.
"What would be fighting for..." her voice was quiet "Everything is lost... There's nothing left anymore..."
"There is one thing left", Juán said impassively. He reached into the car and pulled out the grocery bag containing his weapons. "Revenge. We can hurt the bastards who did this, hurt them bad. We can show them that not whole the people of Fictions are going to sit passive and watch their country be occupied." He shrugged again, and his voice softened. "We should move. We aren't making the situation better by just sitting here. Come, let's get into the car."
