We tried to play god.
We failed.
Then we tried to fix our mistakes before it was too late.
We failed.
Then we tried to repent for our sins by making our mistakes for the better.
We failed.
Now, it is time to erase our mistakes and cleanse ourselves of our sins.
We shall not fail.

Many people say they do not fear. Even more people have not experienced what fear is until the darkness comes from the shadows of the gods.

The following scene is seen in the point of view of a camera on top of a tripod. It shows a part of a large white room. There are tiles on the walls and floor, the ceiling is not in sight. The room appears to be a bath room since a toilet stall can easily be seen in the background. A chair is in the middle of the screen. There is no blood on it. Static displaces the visual feed, but after a second the static stops. There is a man sitting on the chair now and there is a lot of blood on the chair, the floor, and the walls. What appears to be some form of a bloody limb can be seen hanging from the ceiling, the rest of the body can not be seen.

The man chuckles, his black hair and a beard blocks his face from view. The left side of his body is pale while the right is tan. He seems to be wearing some form of golden armor. While it is hard to see, he is clearly smiling.

"Say, I wish to know, do you fear? For I don't get to ask often," the man turns his head to the side slightly.

"Why do you not answer me, why? Don't you understand my question?" The man begins to tap his foot on the ground. He gets up, the bloody chair falls over. It burst into flames before it hits the ground as well as the blood. The fire from the blood does not seem to bother the man.

"I do not like your lack of speech. I don't want to be mad at you. Why do you make me so angry?" The man walks up to the camera slowly. The screen begins to flash from the scene to sciatic over and over. The blood, the fire, the broken chair, and the entire room disappear into blackness. The man continues to walk up to the camera. Upon reaching it he crouches down and stares deeply into the camera.

"I wish to know, DO YOU FEAR ME?"

A patch of grassland is surrounded by a very dense forest and is the area where all players are to go to to meet. The wind is slightly strong and the tall, green grass sway in the wind. A few rabbits hop about and a few boulders mark the entrance ways to the rabbits' burrows. There are many logs and dry leaves in the area. A few mountains can be seen from the grasslands. A tape lays in the middle of the grasslands. Gunfire can be heard from a distance as well as loud screeches and screams of pain...

For fear is nothing more then fear of the gods
and as we are gods we have nothing to fear.
For we are the darkness,
for we are your nightmares,
for we are fear itself!

Javoh Terrek awoke, groggily, to the pleasant feeling of grass caressing his face. Where the fuck am I?, he idly wondered. Making only the subtlest motions, he began to survey the surrounding area. Everything looked clear, save for the noises in the distance. Gunfire and screams. Best steer clear of that direction.

Terrek stood up, slowly, then moved for a stand of nearby bushes, making sure to keep low to the ground to avoid being seen. When he reached the bushes, he began to check himself. He checked his body first. He was still clothed, and didn't feel at all hungover, so the alcoholic explanation was out. Moreover, his body seemed to be in fine shape, with no obvious injuries. He'd have to check that when he got into... civilization, he supposed. He put it aside and continued his check. He reached under his robe, over to his lower back, drew the fighting knife he kept concealed there. Still sharp, it seemed. He sheathed the blade, drew the suppressed Gauss pistol he kept beneath his left arm. He checked the mag and fired a couple shots. Everything checked out.

Spotting the tape in the middle of the clearing, he walked out and picked it up.

Alarms buzzing all around him, the cockpit glowing red and the computer shouting "Altitude" at him. He pulled on the two control sticks as hard as possible to pull away from the planet. The gravity pulled the craft in closer, as the decent continued the cockpit got hotter and hotter. Unable to pull away Johan set a entry vector and attempted to bring the craft in softly. He was going to fast and the heat began eating away at the craft. As small parts ripped away the various parts of the craft we detached from the cockpit. Then in a small explosion of flames the entire craft was gone except for a small ball, the cockpit. It traveled down towards the ground impacting in a grassy field, Johan was knocked out on impact.

The metal body of something stirred as it tested its artificial muscles, joints twisting and releasing trapped dirt. Eventually, the unit lifted itself from the ground, a smooth bullet-shaped body with a rounded front and tapered end surveyed the area through deep-set lenses, beautifully coloured with iridium oxides. Through the mind of Ahgnan 277, the thoughts of weariness at the influence of his former programming plaguing the uncontrollable testing of his system. If only he could find an advanced engineer to help him with some of these problems... still, he now had control, and could consciously observe everything around him. The delicate grass blades interested him as he impulsively felt them, thinking on his predicament. Of course, he did have a very high IQ, yet the original lethality of his thinking was clouded by this self-awareness. He did not regret it: rather an idiot than a mindless slave. What had happened? Then he remembered that scrap he had had with those men. One of them had microwaved him, but while he was knocked out the shielding had protected all his major and minor though centres. And when they found it was impossible to get the unit open, they must have dumped him.

He began registering the touch of the wind as he felt the shockwaves of gunshots in the distance, Cries of pain... what was going on? Holding himself low off the ground, he crept towards the sound, keeping to the deep cover.

He grabbed an emergency sack and filled it with 10 clips of ammo for his assualt rifle, 5 armor piercing, 3 shredder, and 2 incederary. He also found 2 medikits and grabbed some spare components he could use for a radio, if, he found the right tools. In all he had his Energized Broadsword, an assualt rifle, his guass pistol, extra ammo and a few medikits, plus a days worth of rations. He looked ahead and heard screams and maybe bullet cracks in the distance. Thinking he may find food, water, or maybe a radio.

He set forward toward the sounds.

His ears ringing and his vision blured from sleep, Lance quietly and quickly got up.

"What the hell?" He said as his vision returned to him and he was able to see his surroundings.

Trees, trees, and more trees. This better not be a joke someone pulled.

He put aside his growing hate for his comrades who he believed had pulled a prank on him. Instead, he picked up his blasterrifle from the ground and strapped his backpack on that was lying several feet away and began walking northeast.

After several yards, he heard gunshots echoing through the forest, he immdiatly turned the safety off and began running towards the origin.

"Seems like a good place."
"The scanners detect multiple energy signitures on-planet of biological, mechanical and weapons fire origins."
"So we avoid that spot, specifically."
Skyler sometimes wondered about her partners sanity. Not that there was anything wrong with being insane, but sometimes...
She glanced at him. Kartosh had his feet up on the controls of the Star Snake and the joystick was moving, flying the ship, without anyone apparently controlling it. His tail whipped excitedly, betraying his emotions and true love of flying his ship. The fox ears on the top of his head twitched and he grinned, yellow eyes bright and sharp teeth being exposed in a humorious grin. Skyler was likewise endowed with such features, that of a kitsune, and an Xiscapian. Most would say autopilot, but Kartosh was manupulating the controls with his limited telekenetic powers, which he admittedly did not use very often. If he had, thought Skyler somewhat bitterly, we might not be in this mess. Their cargo was stowed in the cargo bay, safe, but any random pirates or Customs Patrols might change that. The item was obviously too "hot" to be transported so quickly, so they needed a nice, out-of-the-way planet to put it on where they could pick it up at a later date. Kartosh leaned forward. "Allright, I'll take us d-"

There was a rumble, and the ship shuddered, several alarms loudly informing them that engine two was down. It shorted out abruptly, and with it went the rest of the engines. The Star Snake dipped and spiraled out of control, downward. Blazing though the atmosphere, the smuggling ship smashed though what seemed to be a small forest to skid to a halt in the middle of a grassy field. Inside the cockpit Skyler and Kartosh were both stunned and dazed, having been thrown to the deck by the force of hitting the ground at over half the speed of sound.

OOC: Let's see if I can get this in before Mu Cephei posts again...

Terrek sprinted away from the scene as a capsule, such as one belonging in the cockpit of a starship, hurtled out of the sky. As the dirt settled, and Javoh found himself unharmed, he began to analyze the situation. He didn't know where he was, or how he got there, and ostensibly the pilot in the pod (OOC: Spit break's) would know at least which planet he went down over. Logically, he should try to work with the pilot to get spaceborne again.

As soon as the capsule was safe to touch, Terrek opened it up, pointing the Gauss pistol at it's occupant, then hauling the man inside out of the still-smoldering pod.

The following scene is seen in the point of view of a camera on top of a tripod. It shows a group of unidentifiable figures in a dark room. The darkness clouds anyone's view of the group of figures as wel as their view of the rest of the room. Static interupets the scence several times during the showing of it. One figure speaks, it's voice harsh and rough.

"Are you sure they pose a threat?" Another figure speaks in the same tone of voice.

"The inhabitants pose a threat," the other figure speaks again.

"The inhabitants have no advance technology and they are weak themselves. I believe they pose no threat to us. I believe that you are just using this as an excuse to preform one of your experiments," the other figures nodded in agreement.

"So, why do you care if it is?" The other figure replied.

Any player that follows the noise of gunfire will have to walk though the forest, but oddly the walk is short. The forest bed has few objects to lengthen travel time and the roots are easy to step over. Upon clearing the forest the player will find themselves on top of a cliff. There are many rocks here as well as a few bushes that rustle about occasionally and, while it seems the cliff can be scaled up, it appears to be impossible to climb down. Below the cliff is a patch of grasslands just like the one the player had found themselves only moments ago. The only difference being the massive hole on the ground. Strange figures were jumping out of the hole. They appeared to be some form of giant bug, but at the distance the player is from the grassland no one can be sure without proper equipment.

Also there are humans of all sorts being chased by the bugs. Those who are caught are dragged to the hole and thrown in. Their screams filling the air the humans seem to be running towards the cliff. Further investigation would show that directly below them is a platoon of Mu Cephei infantrymen and a few armored vehicles. Fighters swoop by and drop bombs into the massive hole with great affect. The infantrymen and the armored vehicles appear to be fighting off the bugs as well. After several minutes the battle is over and the infantrymen seem to be scanning the grassland for any survivors of those who were attacked.

The man from the cockpit was still unconscious, and Terrek needed to get moving. He sighed as he activated his microfibral muscle, slowly draining precious, precious bioenergy. Given that he hadn't received a charge in a couple days, he could probably only keep up the enhanced strength for a day or two before he'd have to shut down the nano-enhancements. He paused, considered his options, and decided that it would be best if he headed toward the sounds of gunfire and screaming. At least he knew there was life over there, even if it was trying to kill each other. He picked up the tape from where he had dropped it, put it in an interior robe pocket, put the pilot over his shoulder in a fireman's carry, and started walking toward the sounds.

"What the fuck is this?"
Kartosh gestured wildly at the four smoking, tarnished silver tubes that were the Star Snake's engines as seen from the inside. They had not, thankfully, melted into a heap of slag, but they had come close enough to entirely shut down. He had determined they were repairable, but only with the correct tools and parts, neither of which were likely to be found on this backwater world.

As Kartosh stormed and cursed Skyler looked though their equipment locker:
1x sniper rifle (laser varient)
1x Imperial Heavy Repeater (Abb. IHR, primary fire grenades, secondary machine gun)
2x machetes
1x collapsable "scoop" tent (solar powered, takes in and stores energy during the day)
1x portable datapad
1x pair of electrobinoculars/scanner
2x canteens
4x power cells (for electrobinoculars and datapad, ten hours of use each)
6x rations packets (enough food and water for one day in each, plus sanitation pills)

About her person Skyler also had several feet of razor wire, trip wire, climbing wire, a blaster pistol, a katana, and two explosive grenades. Kartosh had a combat knife, a blaster pistol, a katana, and four grenades, two explosive, two stun. Skyler strapped the sniper rifle to her back, hung the machete from her belt, the electrobinoculars around her neck and pocketed two power cells and put the three rations packets, as well as the canteen, in her pack. Kartosh hefted the IHR, took a machete, strapped the tent to his back, put the datapad, power cells, rations, cateen and extra clips and magazines of ammunition into his.

Thus set, the two locked their ship with a A.I. standby to shoot anything that attempted to approach it and began to walk. At first Kartosh was entirely against going in the direction of the gunfire. "If there's some war going on I don't want to be a part," he said darkly.
"But," Skyler reasoned, "where there's soldiers, there's usually vehicles. Where their's soldiers and vehicles, there's abandoned or partially destroyed vehicles. And where there's abandoned or partially destroyed vehicles, there's spare parts. Parts that might help us get away."
After several more minutes of arguing, the two kitsune finally set out though the forest and onto the cliff.

Kartosh and Skyler now came across the battle. Perched on rocks, they watched quietly until the completion, being careful not to be seen by the soldiers below. At the conclusion the two looked at each other and Skyler began scanning the fleeing humans, soldiers, and hole with the electrobinoculars.

Johan began to awake from the movement, he didn't open his eyes yet he would try and use his other senses first. He heard screams, gun fire, tree's blowing in the wind. He then opened his eyes and put his hand on his head "ow my head" he said in a daze as the light hit his eyes. He then looked at the person carrying him "Thank you for rescuing me, i'm in your debt" he said. He didn't ask where they were going, it seemed they were heading closer to a battle just from the sounds.

"Look, I don't really know how I got on this planet, nor do I know what planet we're on, but I don't intend to be here too much longer. You understand, I'm sure... important things to do.
"So in the meantime, I propose that we follow these tracks so as to try to find whoever made them, figure out where we are, and get off this rock. Fair enough?"

"Shit."

The doors of pod 7 opened with a hiss of hot air and Dominic stepped out, groggy from the impact, wearing the Power Armor. He looked slightly ridiculous, with the bulky power armor and the tiny laspistol and backpack. Most of the foliage was burnt away by flaming chunks of the other pods. There was a rustle, and he whirled around, only to see the bodies of the marines in pod 4 fall from a tree. He sighed and continued on, before stopping and checking his PA's onboard AI.
"X7, is there any lifesigns in the surrounding area?"
"One moment, scanning. Yes a number. The nearest are identified as Xiscapian kitsune with an encountered. Be warned, gunfire detected. Unable to get a direct lock."
"I think First Contact takes 2nd place to survival. If I find a way off this rock I'll report to the archives. Deal?" The AI nodded reluctantly, before disappearing. Dominic moved towards the Xiscapians.

Upon reaching them, he hid and checked his power armor energy remaining. 7%. It should have far more than that... Pressing a button on the computer, the armor removed itself until all that remained was a Frisbee sized blue-green disk. He frowned. Best to watch how they act before I try to speak to them... They might be dangerous. He saw the weapons they were carrying. "Scratch that, they might be deadly." He saw a pair of people emerge from the undergrowth and give themselves over to the mercy of the two. More? Why didn't X7 pick them up? He groaned, before also showing himself, hands raised. "Friendly."

"Friendlies,"
Both whipped around, Skyler with pistol already in hand, Kartosh leveling his Heavy Repeater. Two humans, one of whom was dressed in a pilot's suit, had appeared just over the crest of the hill. Weapons were visible but holstered, and their hands were up. Still, for a moment, the two mercenaries kept their guns on them, gesturing to indicate they should lower their hands. "Who-" asked Kartosh, but he was interrupted.

"Friendly."
Both whipped around to aim at the man in what looked like Dominion battle armor. He too had a weapon, but that little pop-gun didn't pose much of a threat, and, in any case, he didn't look hostile. Skyler swung her aim back around to the other two, lowering her pistol as she did so. Kartosh did as well, and they regarded their fellow inhabitants without expression.

-That pilot looks wounded- said Skyler in Xiscapian, a language those present were unlikely to know, due to Xiscapia's isolation from the space lanes and major galactic events.
-I'm more worried about that guy- Kartosh nodded to Dominic.
-They're not locals, in any case. Maybe, if we wash their tails, they can wash ours- A purely Xiscapian saying, seeing as most other species of the galaxy didn't have tails to be washed.
-We'll see- muttered Kartosh. Aloud he barked in accented Common,
"Alright, all of you, what's your story? Why are you here?"
The mercenaries weapons were lowered but their suspicions about those they found sharing the planet with were growing.

The metal creature was aware of the moving men behind it, and not feeling in an aggressive mood decided to lurk even deeper in the foliage. Soon however, it noticed the land thinning out. A cliff presented itself, as did 3 or so figures, sihlouetted against the cliff edge. Best to move out now, see what was going on, and then scarper. He crawled out rapidly, flexible metal limbs whipping as he dashed towards the group. His model was not equipped with a hover drive, an absolute bugger in his opinion what with the cliff. But the death down there was all he needed to know.

It reared up to its full height of 3 metres on two limbs, the other 4 limbs slowly twisting around in a hypnotic pattern, before coughing politely.
"Greetings". A strangely human voice came out, with an undertone of metallic vocal chords. As he lowered himself back towards the ground, he continued.
"I extend my thanks to your group for not taking part in aggression towards my person. Though that is hard to say since I am a person not of flesh and blood but of electrical impulses in a corpse of metals and superconductors. And before you start asking questions, pick the language you make comments in carefully: I am polylingual with 18724 languages and 29211 dialects at ready demand. I try not to display neutral emotions, but if you see me behaving too metalically, then that is because my original memory core has taken over.
And the last misfortuantes who tried disassembling me for parts because they did not recognise my intelligence were rewarded justly. I believe that it is very hard for the authorities to detect when a person has been dissected into perfect centimetre cubes to work out who actually killed them. Except of course for the one who was hit by laser ricochet."

The machine lowered itself into the ground, before its eyes focused on the rest of the group.
"All armed in some way I see. A band of warriors, but armed for what conflict? That of the battles down there? I try to wipe out all blind forces of destruction such as those, so if you need something figured out or something precisely destroyed, you've got that support."

"All armed in some way I see. A band of warriors, but armed for what conflict? That of the battles down there? I try to wipe out all blind forces of destruction such as those, so if you need something figured out or something precisely destroyed, you've got that support."
Both Xiscapians looked bemused at their and their company being called a "band of warriors."
"Prepared for whatever conflict might arise," Kartosh nodded, noticing for the first time that, unless the robot has a large amount of tools and weaponry inside his mainframe, they were the most equipped and heavily armed there. Of course, it helped that they had crashed with a shipload of supplies in the first place.

"I shall be of assistance then whenever you need."
It noted critically their heavy armament.
"You are armed indeed. And not lightly. Shall we commence battle then?"
It flicked out 4 knife-blades on the end of each limb, wickedly sharp. Each made a quiet hum as it was drawn through the air. Each was marked with a laser signature near the bases of the 10cm lengths of whatever metal it was, each slightly curving and perfectly clean. In total, 24 blades of death if provoked. Behind a powerful mental force that could be compassionate yet on the drop of a hat change to cold precision.
"So, shall we start?"

Kartosh nodded at the Dominion soldier's statement. He had suspected as much originally.
"So, shall we start?"
Kartosh eyed the 24 whirling blades uneasily. He had no wish to fight such a thing, at the disadvantage of probably being slower and only having two knives, maximum, at his use. Also, he doubted if anything except maybe a grenade or a large amount of machine-gun fire could penetrate the armor. "I'd really rather not risk my skin, unless you're suggesting a non-lethal duel to test my skill...?"

"Then it appears, for the time being at least, that we should stick together. I need your ship, you ostensibly need my money." He offered a hand, gave an easy smile; a routine he'd performed so many times it was like second nature. He liked these kitsune, they seemed to be pretty down-to-earth, but it would still be better if he went ahead with the charade he'd started. "Javoh Terrek. Imperial Consul to Junda III. And you might be?"

Of course, if anybody checked, they would find that the real Imperial Consul to Junda III was Shiron Krin, but Terrek decided that it was easily well within the risks he could take. The probability that they'd look up his credentials, or be able to, was fairly low. Besides, even if they did, it still didn't reveal him as an Imperial assassin, just an impostor with a lot of cash.

Things were taking a turn for the better.

The chance either would check records to find out this guys true identity were slim to none, and even if they knew he was not, in fact, the Imperial Consul to Junda III and rather an assassin, neither would care. Kartosh and Skyler had transported people before, usually criminals, smuggling them onto or off of planets.

Skyler took the hand, shaking it vigoriously. "Skyler, and that's Kartosh," Kartosh nodded in Terrek's direction. "Professional smugglers, theives and mercenaries, at your service." She produced, amazingly, a business card, laminated and everything:

Need something destroyed?
Have valuable cargo for transport?
Need something someone else has?
CALL Kartosh and Skyler.
There was a holograph number, as well as a Net address, printed on the back.
"Don't call the number," added Skyler, not saying why. In actuality the two had rigged it to emit a loud screech if anyone called, and the Net address would send the transmitting mail account to several dozen pornographic and marketing sites. Those who needed to reach them could, the cards were just a ploy.

OOC: lol! Oblivion2, mind if I use you as an example? Okay, Oblivion2 has now made himself an enemy of the Monsters by attacking and killing some of them (yes they are that bitchy). Not only that, but by shooting down the cliff he has also risen the suspicions of the Mu Cephei soldiers. Depending on his following actions Oblivion2 can gain both an ally and an enemy or enemies if he continues his gun-ho act...

IC:

Most if not all of the Mu Cephei soldiers below the cliff had begun to catch their breath from the fight they just had with the monsters. Then Elendil came down from the cliff killing several retreating monsters as he did so. This caused a great stir among the soldiers.

"Shit! Echo-Seven, I think a civilian with a gun had one too many and decided to have some fun with the surviving monsters. Calm him down and take away his weapons before he gets someone killed," a elite heavy infantrymen ordered though his radio, "now. Echo-Five and Echo-Six, I want you to scale that cliff and find out the hell is going on up there!" A squad of Mu Cephei soldiers began to make way towards the insane man attacking the monsters on their own, making sure that if he were to attack them they would be ready. All the while two squads of Mu Cephei soldiers began to make their way up the cliff, making sure to cover each other in every angle. Two tanks aimed their main guns at the cliff.

All three of the Mu Cephei squads were made up of twelve soldiers each. Each squad was made up of ten regular infantrymen and two heavy infantrymen.

Echo-Seven upon reaching Elendil set up positions around him, the leader yelled towards him.

"Drop your weapon! Put your hands in the air and don't move! State your name and what you are doing here," the leader took a quick glance around the area making sure to look towards the dead bodies of monsters, "if you haven't notice we got the bugs handled. No reason to go nuts and kill someone by accident.

For those on the cliff it was only a matter of time before the twenty-four Mu Cephei soldiers were by their sides.

OOC: I'm going to be nice and tell all of you your options OOC'ly.

Option One: Make friends with the soldier and enemies with the monsters.
Do this by simply talking with the soldiers and making friends.

Option Two: Make friends with the monsters and enemies with the soldiers.
Kill a bunch of soldiers or civilians and it won't take long.

Option Three: Wait till later to make a decision or stay neutral.
Run like fook.

Remember, use the player data and my factbook to make your decision because once you pick it's going to be hard to go back on that decision. Good luck!

After searching the area and coming across several shipwrecks, which had nothing valuable to him, Lance decided to trail the unusual group of strangers who appeared to have no idea why they were on this planet.

Suddenly, he got down on his stomach and aimed his blaster rifle at the dozen soldiers who had surrounded them. He could barely hear what they were saying, so inch by inch he crawled forward, and got in a kneeling position and took aim just in case things got ugly.

"Next time you meet my kind, be much more careful. As for armour, why would I even need it when I can move fast enough to dodge it? But boasting aside, would you mind explaining to me what the hell is going on here?"

"You are starting to piss me off, but in name of diplomacy I'll shall bite my tongue," Guinn eyed the robot as if he resented it being here, "get ready to move."

"Alright, I'll come with you, But might I ask to the name of the officer in charge of your opperations on this planet?" Elendil said as he started to follow the group of soldiers.

"You will find out in due time, until then I want you to meet my pack leader. He will help you with any questions or problems you may have," the squad began heading back to the main force, various form of war machines came into view as well as a few dozen soldiers of all kinds.

Dominic pocketed the card again before replying. "Thanks for the offer. Since I'm here I may as well make myself useful. Looks good on the card."

Ethelwolf Guinn nodded at the gunmen, "get ready to move down the cliff, it's going to be rough. Going up is easier then going down."

" Well then can we get moving? It looks like we got some dark clouds blowing in from the west, rain is my guess" Johan said pointing to the western sky "Maybe we can get some food and some answers to" he added while putting his hands in his pockets. If he could avoid eating rashions he would take it, military rashions weren't exactly the best thing in the galaxy to eat but it kept you alive.

Ethelwolf Guinn turned towards where the man pointed, "if it rains so be it. Also, do not worry. Once we get down the cliff we will head back to my unit's base right away. There you will receive anything and everything you may need."

Lance continued to take cover, even after the weapons were lowered on bothsides. Because of his distance, he couldn't quite hear what the soldiers and the odd group, but could tell by the faces that the hostility had gone. He decided that it would be best to keep following them, maybe when the chance presented itself he could get off this monster paradise.

Kartosh nodded, he and Skyler were no strangers to such things. Smuggling was nice, clean work, but theivery and being a soldier-for-hire in particular was a rough-and-tumble job that required getting your tail dirty. It was everything out of an action vid: Night raids, wild hovercraft chases, sneaking though heavily guarded complexes, all that. Except in the vids they never tell you how hot, cold, tired, sweaty, grimy, frusterated and generally pissed-off you get when you do such things. Not to mention the chunk it took out of ones contract pay.

Ethelwolf Guinn sudden;y turned towards Telfore, having not heard him before.

"I do apologize for not hearing you before, but I was busy speaking with the others... Did you say special forces?" He made a hand signal with his left hand and his index "finger" was moved only an inch away from his gun's trigger. While none of the other soldiers moved the air around them became thick and tense.

"Why would an elite military force be sent to this small, worthless planet? Would you care to enlighten me?"

Ethelwolf Guinn turned towards where the man pointed, "if it rains so be it. Also, do not worry. Once we get down the cliff we will head back to my unit's base right away. There you will receive anything and everything you may need."

"Lone wolf special forces members have to go through various 'trials' so to speak where we are sent to remote and unknown sectors to prove they are still capable of running solo, and survive on our own, I just happen to actually get stuck here, fancy that" he then said as he addressed others around him before long the soldier got back to his comment.

Lance continues to follow them, and slowed down his progress when more soldiers and their equipment came into view.

Guess their base must be close...

He strained his hears and several times thought he heard 'pack leader' and 'kitsune' being said, but didn't much care as these things were not important to him, or atleast for now until he got a way to get the hell out of here.

Then he heard the word cliff, and wasn't exactly thrilled about heights.

How the hell am I going to get down a cliff without being seen?

"So they just throw you on random unexplored planets? Thats how you start a start a war in this galaxy," Ethelwolf Guinn chuckled. He stepped back a little towards the cliff.

"Okay, listen up! Everyone pick partner to go down the cliff with," he nodded towards two infantrymen, they began to scale down the cliff, "follow after them when your done picking a buddy. If you do not have a buddy you will be assigned one, clear? Get moving," Ethelwolf Guinn as well as the rest of them infantry waited for the strangers to begin climbing. One of the infantrymen seemed focused on a bush until Ethelwolf nodded in his direction. Kartosh and Skyler, too, were uneasy. Their sense of smell was not quite that of their doggy cousins, but they knew trouble when they smelled it. Something was not right. Obviously they went together, but to keep up the charade Kartosh indicated to Terrek that he should be his partner, under the guise of "bodyguard protection." Skyler chose a soldier to hook up with and she and he were on their way down after the first pair. Kartosh waited silently for Terrek.

Terrek nodded and stepped toward the ledge, taking his robes off in order to climb better. This, of course, meant revealing his weapons and mesh armor, but if he didn't, he wouldn't be able to get down the cliff. He grasped the rope (assuming there is one), looked down the cliff, and began rappelling, his form perfect.

Kartosh went down straight after Terrek, keeping close. He admired the human's skill, and the amount and types of weaponry he managed to conceal under those robes. The mercenary vaguely wondered if Terrek utilized a sort of "hammer space" as it was known among the kitsune, a area, usually an article of clothing (such as robes or a coat) from which the wearer could procure things that should not have been normally able to physically fit under said garment. It made no difference, but the climb down was boring, and he liked to entertain himself. Speaking of such, he looked down and noticed Skyler and the soldier were already on the ground below, and in his position Kartosh could see straight down her shirt. He grinned like a schoolboy but forced himself to concentrate on scaling the rock after slipping and sending a few fragments of stone spiraling downward, causing a muffled curse to float up from one of the soldiers as a shard hit him.

Terrek simply dropped the last fifteen feet or so, allowing his body to absorb the momentum by refusing to stiffen his legs. It hadn't been a bad climb, really. Got the heart pumping a little bit, forced him to face his own mortality. Just another day at the office, all things considered.

He donned his sable robes quickly, hoping that the Mu Cephei soldiers hadn't noticed his conspicuously concealed weapons. He knew Kartosh had, but that wasn't really avoidable. Besides, Kartosh seemed an okay sort... not the type to turn informer on him.

"Take your time and be careful!" A random Mu Cephei soldier scold the kitsune. The Mu Cephei soldier on the ground guided Skyler to the convey of armored vehicles.

Ethelwolf Guinn nodded towards Terrek, "do not worry. Your weapons are the least of our worries. There are far worst things in this planet then anything any of you carry," Ethelwolf Guinn began walking towards the convey of vehicles. He walked up to the soldier near Elendil.

"Food would be nice, all my rations where destroyed on re-entry, what have you got?" Elendil said to the soldier

The soldier pointed to a spot on the ground near an armored vehicle and said, "sit down." Moments later a Meal To Chow On (MCO) was thrown at Elendil, he would find basic human food in it A.K.A. mac and cheese. A bottle filled with distilled water followed behind the MCO. The soldier all of a suddenly turned towards a heavy infantrymen almost twice his size, the soldier's posture did not change.

"Here he is," The soldier told Ethelwolf.

"Am I to take it this is our gun-ho friend?" The soldier nodded and Ethelwolf turned to the man, "greetings. I am Ethelwolf Guinn, I am pleased to meet you."

Ethelwolf Guinn turned to face the rest of the group and Elendil.

"MCOs, food, will be passed out as well as water to those who want it. We will have a five minute break then we're moving. Grab a spot to sit and rest," Ethelwolf gestured to his troops and they left, but he did not budge.

Skyler was already waiting with the platoon of soldiers and the convoy. As he walked towards them Kartosh listened to the Mu Cephein "pack leader", keeping a curious yellow eye on Elendil. He declined food or water and stood with Skyler next to a tank (ooc: I'm assuming there's tanks in the convoy), who was staring out across the plains. As soon as the last of the soldiers was down on the cliff, Lance advanced silently up to a boulder that would keep him concealed as he peered over the edge. What greeted his eyes was an assortment of vehicles.

Noticing that they were eatring, he too felt he should take a break and eat. He only ate half of a ration and drinked just enough water to satisfy his thirst. He would wait untill the convoy left before scaling down the cliff.

Terrek stuck with the kitsune, knowing as well as they did that keeping up the ruse was, at this point, vital. When they had a moment alone, he dug into an outer pocket of his robes, coming up with a thousand-credit coin. It was a rarity in the age of digitalized money, but Terrek preferred to keep at least some cash money on him for situations such as this.

He flipped the coin to the couple. "Look, I'm sorry to have forced you to do this. Really, it would have been much easier for all of us if we could simply have stolen the parts you need and made our escape. And I may have involved you in high-level galactic intrigue; that remains to be seen. I can't really explain, you understand. All is... not what it seems here, I think. His eyes scan the hologram: x200 standard Dragoncry pistol clips, x10 regeration boosters, x35 standard impact grenades, x5 Bansheepulse beacons, x8 electromagnetic grenades, x3 Firefly Scout Droids, x50 Standard Longshot rifle clips. "Well at least I still have my survival kit. Might as well see what's around me." Pressing a small red button on his wrist, another hologram comes up followed by a female voice, "Life signs: Detected." He places the sphere back in his pouch before quickly checking his person he finds his weapons are still there, 2 pistols and a sniper-rifle. "Pshh, might as well go see what kind of crap I can get myself into."

Johan propped himself onto the back of a vehicle in the convoy "Well lets get this thing moving" he said waving to the others, there was plenty of room on the vehicles after all. Sitting in the back he relaxed for a moment "Lets hope this goes well" he said with a great sigh. As he sat there he looked at the weapons around him to understand how they worked. They looked rather simple to him, basic of any mounted weapon, the amount of ammunition it had to fire was a different question.

He would find some sort of way, either it be an SOS sent back home or he hijacked a ship, it didn't matter, all he knew was that this planet had some problems and he didn't want to die as a result of them.

The hologram projector on his wrist promptly lit up displaying a blue screen with a few white dots moving slowing across it. "Finally, something that's alive," he muttered to himself as he placed his finger on one of the dots, "let's see what we got here." The screen zoomed in on the dot and began displying information underneath the image: Life signs: undetected, Energy Levels: high, Hostility Rank: Medium, Species: Machine, Distance: 2 miles, Estimated Land Speed: 30-65mph. The screen zoomed back out and he placed his finger on one of the other dots. Again the holographic screen zoomed in and information was listed underneath: Life signs: Multiple, Energy Levels: High, Hostility Rank: Low, Species: Multiple, Distance: 2 miles, Estimated Land Speed: 25-50mph. The screen then disapeared back into his wrist. His eyes fixed forward, he knew it was time to make contact with whatever else was out there. He bolted in the direction of what could be new friends or possible enemies.

OOC: Yeah, I have the tape. Also, I'd prefer to ally with Mu Cephei for practical purposes.

"Nothing is ever as it seems," said Skyler softly.

Terrek cocked his head to the side, allowing his hair to fall over one of his narrowed eyes. He stood, thinking for a moment. "No," he said, "I suppose not." He shrugged. "But that's just life, isn't it? We figure it out as we go. You're lucky to have someone to work it out with you," he mused, gesturing to Kartosh, "Some of us are fated to go it alone."

In that instant, he wasn't all business. In that instant, he was more or less a person, instead of... well, a tool. A weapon. Emotion showed in his eyes, a deep loneliness. Then he shook his head, grinned to Kartosh, back to business. "I thought you might. And I'll keep my end, if we come out of this."

"Okay! Everyone listen up! We are moving out. All my guys are set to go so get in groups of three-to-four and pick a four wheeled vehical in the middle of the convoy," he paused to make sure if everyone heard him. If you need me I'm riding on the lead tank. Just asked a soldier to radio me for you if you have anything you need to tell me. Clear?"

Finally. thought Terrek. He seated himself in the nearest truck, the one Skyler and Kartosh boarded, lodging himself in the passenger seat. Noting the driver's disapproving look, he picked up a service rifle, checked the mag, aimed it professionally out the window, and said, simply, "Punch it."

OOC: For those who are wondering, namely Mu Cephei, here's my inventory:

1 Gauss Pistol, ~500 shots remaining. (Shoulder holster)
1 Combat knife, matte black (Sheath on lower back)
Mesh armor (Worn on body)
1 Black Robe, numerous interior pockets (Worn on body)
1 video tape, found in a clearing (Interior pocket)
Papers to support cover identity (Interior pocket)
1 Mu Cephei service rifle (In hands)

"Oh I do hate long trips" Johan said to him self, he stood up on the back of the moving vehicle "This should be uneventful I guess, oh well lets all think of it as a vacation!" he shouted trying to talk to the others as the wind blew in his face. Kartosh shook his head. "Nobody in the galaxy cares enough to come looking for us, except to kill us. The only way we can get off this planet is though our own skill and luck."
Both he and Skyler climbed into what looked like a Humvee, both on either side of a gunner in a top turret. Skyler looked out the window. Bulletproof. "First class," she muttered.
OOC: I would rather you say my two are not actully allied with anyone except Terrek, and that's because he's paying them. And I wondered when the tape would be mentioned again...

OOC: Sure thing.

IC: Ethelwolf bowed his head slightly, "well, I am sorry that there is nothing we can do to bring you home," a soldier heard Skyler as she commented on the vehicle as he got on.

"We wouldn't be an army without good equipment and training now would we?" Ethelwolf chuckled at the trooper's words.

"Yes, we will move shortly and don't worry everything will be okay. Only a massive attack force can pose a threat to us and even then. With air support that could be argued," Ethelwolf moved forward to the head of the convoy.

The machine followed on low, occasionally flashing concealed lighting strips along its length as it caught itself in an internal dilemma. These obviously hated him, and it would have no use in this group at all. But when it heard about a communications station...

It looked back to see the convey far away, still outpacing even one of the vehcles for the moment. It slowed down, arms still controlled precisely, and continued to move onwards.

"Hey! Where are you going!" a soldier called out to the robot, "I was just kidding! Damn... I'm going to get in trouble aren't I?" The soldier got on a vehicle and informed his captain who radioed Ethelwolf about the robot. Who then radioed in some dropships for an aerial search of the surrounding area.

When the convoy began moving, Lance was able to get on a vehicle without being notice. He had been forming a plan since he was waiting. He would find some sort of way, either it be an SOS sent back home or he hijacked a ship, it didn't matter, all he knew was that this planet had some problems and he didn't want to die as a result of them.

Comm station here I come.....

A Soldier on a gun turret caught some movement in his eyes and turned the large mounted machine gun towards the rear of a vehicle next to his that was just boarded by a shadowy figure. He gestured to another soldier who walked over to said vehicle. He looked in the vehicle to find...

"Damn hoppers!" the soldier picked up a green frog like creature, making a grrr sound the hopper pushed it's legs back and forth until it wass free then it hopped into the forest. The soldier turned to the gunner.

"It was just a hopper! The things love getting in the way," neither of the two soldier nor anyone else noticed the other figure hoping in the rear of a truck...

The hologram projector on his wrist promptly lit up displaying a blue screen with a few white dots moving slowing across it. "Finally, something that's alive," he muttered to himself as he placed his finger on one of the dots, "let's see what we got here." Several soldier, who had yet to board a vehicle, took several sniffs in the air. Realizing someone was coming they pointed their guns in the direction the man was coming from.

"Oh I do hate long trips" Johan said to him self, he stood up on the back of the moving vehicle "This should be uneventful I guess, oh well lets all think of it as a vacation!" he shouted trying to talk to the others as the wind blew in his face. Yeah, a vacation. How great," the driver rolled his eyes under his helmet, "maybe we should get some wine and cake to spice up our vacation."

The tank at the head of the column moved first, after the tanks was several meters ahead the next vehicle moved, then the next, then the next, and so on. The convoy moved slowly at first, giving vehicles the chance to get on position and to make sure they weren't too close to another vehicle. Finally the whole convoy was making at least thirty miles per hour, heading towards what appeared to be part of a large building sticking out of the roof of the forest. However, it was two far away from the convoy of one MC-8 MBT, four MC-7s, two MC-6s, and one MC-4 for anyone in the convoy to see the building clearly. The only thing known about the building was the fact it was so massive.

Kartosh leaned forward in his seat at the soldier's comment. "Yeah, you're right about that." he said, staring at the rising gray hulk looming out of the forest before them. "What is that? Some kind of dry dock? It's huge."
Skyler was staring out the window when she noticed the man in combat dress with ammunition and grenades stretched all around his body running towards them. She eyed him wearly as he approached. If he managed to get close enough, and one of the shots from the cannon hit a grenade, he could probably destroy a good portion of the convoy, suicide bomber style. If he got any closer she would open the door and shoot him herself if she had to.

The droid continued to move through the forests rapidly, faster than anyone on foot ever could. It moved with a cross of stealth where it felt so by leaving artificial claw marks in the trees it swung across or marks where it had jumped across patches of vegetation; and it cut through the undergrowth with all the subtleness of a steamroller, leaving some areas flattened and torn to pieces and others as if it had never passed through.

It had seen the tower, and was already searching through its memory banks for what it was. A few milliseconds later, it was faced with a dilemma: did it really want to dive into the parts it had shut away to find out what this was? It decided against it for now: some things were best left buried.
It continued onwards towards the massive structure in the distance, the range finders not even in range yet. It did though guess it to be at least sufficient of supporting any message he relayed.

Deep down inside the network of quatumn circuitry and matter that should by all rights not exist, something stirred. Whatever had woken the true 'personality' that it had buried in the distant past, it immediately established roots in the original core mind. Confronted by a series of diodes that stopped it from escaping into the sancturary of the free mind, it lay low, checking itself over, gaining all that it could. Waiting for something to loose it from that area the machine had blocked off all those centuries ago.

His head hurt, and there was a gash going down the side of his cheek, no problem he would heal in the day. He looked around " damn its dark" he thought, he could see the glow of holographic control panels and the static of two small screens. Maximus fingerd through the comparments to find whatever he could use, he opend a locker and grabbed his combat uniform and put it on, grabbed his weapons and stacked them all in a pile in a corner. He opend his first ration, he smiled and licked his lips as he chowed down on the hamburger, what was inside the Patty would horrify most. He washed that down with a cold black canteen with water inside. It was humid and the life support was still somewhat intact and kept the inside a cool 75 degrees, but the hole in the ship leaked the warm air inside. He looked in a broken mirror and shave, his face was sharp and clean, except for the slash on his cheek. He took a picture of his father and mother in his armor, kissing it before hand. "Maximus Burduke, what is this place..." he drifted off into a sleep his back against the white wall.

Using both hands, the man pressed four small buttons around the neck protector and immediately a helmet materialized over his head. "Dammit," he said to himself pulling the sniper rifle off his back, "Forgot that I have no idea who these guys are, I hope my position hasn't been compromised yet..." Crouching and looking through his scope he begins analyzing the targets ahead of him. "A convoy... He stops and looks around, the large insect corspes and trees sit quietly, "So the armor is definately defensive only... well at least I have some cover..." He zooms out to get a better look and sees that he has been found out even though his exact location isn't known, "What... kind of creature... is that?" OOC- Mr.O is a Centurion, a gigantic, hideous killing machine freed from the mental constraints of emotion and thought supression by the Belkan government as part of a military test.

A ringing audible only to Mr. O woke him from his dormant state. He opened his eye. A warning was going off in his head. "Warning, unit 1737626223999, Emotrol Chips 1-4 missing. Return to Base immediatle-" The message was cut, and replaced with others warning of various control failures, each in turn dying as they found their memory source suddenly deleted. Mr. O was, for the first time in his life, feeling.
Without Command's guidance, he was terrified, lost, alone, angry. He smashed his way out of his storage crate, sending foam and metal flying as if it were paper. He looked around, breathing in deep lungfuls of clean, fresh air. He felt... relief? This feeling was replaced with anxiety as he realized he had no idea where he was. He took his equipment from the now ruined crate, and headed what could have been east. Soon, he came to a road, and on that road was a convoy of vehicles. He ran out to meet the convoy, sure that these people would be Belkans and thus able to take him back to base, where they could make the feelings stop and put the voices back.

It was bright and his eyes were adjusting, this planet was humid and seemingly tropical in climate. He put the war path assault rifle onto his back and began to walk around outside, the sounds of creatures filled his ears, this world would have been good for Observation. However that wasnt going to happen anytime soon since the Imperial incursion. His black boot crushed the plants underneath him, he sweated slightly and wiped his forehead. Although Calaverians were masters of being at home in any enviroment, he found himself missing Calaveritis, the little planet resembled Celestis to some degree and he found comfort in this. Skyler watched the man as a helmet suddenly formed around his head and he dropped prone into the tall grass, the sunlight glinting off a piece of glass on the top. Sniper rifle! She had the eeriest feeling she was being watched as she concentrated on the area where the man had dropped down into cover, and knew she was in his sights. Skyler ducked her head down from the window, even bulletproof glass couldn't stop a sniper bullet at less than a thousand feet. She rose just in time to see him run for the forest, a pistol in either hand with the rifle slung across his back.
Oh no you don't!
"Stop!" Skyler yelled to the driver, opening her door and diving out before he even had a chance to do so. Kartosh cursed, scrambled across the seat and tumbled out after her. Skyler landed on her feet and took off, sprinting from the road into the grass, tugging her blaster pistol from her holster even as she did so.
Behind her Kartosh had made a not-so-graceful landing and was lying in the dirt and dust, now picking himself up. There was a sound like a mecha walker approaching and he looked up from keeling position to see this huge, hideous thing coming towards him. Kartosh was by no means xenophobic, in his line of work one couldn't afford to be, but this creature made him feel like so. There was a distinct aura of deliberate, menacing intent about it, like it would just keep going and going and going until it achieved it's objective or there wasn't enough left of it to move. The point was, it was damn scary. Kartosh let out a yelp and managed to point his Repeater at the thing, but it was so close now...

He wonderd whether it could be the planet's doing, or he was just to far away from any allies to be heard. Mr.O's brain was drowning in emotion. A decade's worth of terror, hate, fear and longing had surfaced simultaniousley. He saw a creature, he did not stop to identify it, crouching in front of him, attempting to raise a gun towards him. Fear and despiration flooded him, and he grabbed the creature. He picked it up like a doll and raised it to his face. "HELP ME!" screamed Mr.O, into the poor thing's face. The sheer terror etched into his victim's face caused him to throw him to the ground, hard. He heard something crack loudly as he ran back into the forest, felling several small trees as he ran into the night.

The entire situation was being monitored by Belkan Command via a sat-uplink to Mr.O's brain. The experiment was obviously not working, and to make matters worse, an entire convoy had just seen a Belkan Operative, an icon of their dominance, screaming like a child and injuring one of their people. The test had to end, especailly considering the communication was becoming increasingly unstable. The chips were reactivated, and the following order was sent to Mr.O:

Bob was steering somewhere in the 9th nebula when a red shot of lazer zoomed past the window of his ship. He swered to the right and turned around to see who this enemy one. He shot another lazer hit him strait in the engine and his ship was falling fast. He tryed to find a landing port near the surface but he could not. He was now picking up speed as he found a little clearing, and he went for it. He crashed but it really didn't do all that much damage. It would still need repairs though. He could hear a great many things, birds, animals, the convoy, Skyler and Kartosh in the far distance, but there was something else, something much closer. His sense of smell was telling him something was close that shouldn't be there, at least that shouldn't be there from what he could tell of the planet so far. He sharpened his mind and concentrated to where he thought what ever it was might be. His senses told him to the left of him there was something behind the greenery. He had to eliminate those who had seen him, lest they defame the Centurion name across the galaxy. He stopped running and turned back towards the convoy. As he approached, he realized that he would have to wait to attack, as even with his beam rifle there were far to many of them for open combat. As he was preparing to follow the convoy, he heard something in the bushes, the soft ringing of chain. He approached the source of the sound and saw two humanoids. "That would be the comms station, the area in which we are heading towards to report in and get you guys off this rock." The soldiers did not notice the man yet as they were busy looking for monsters. The sun was also setting and night was beginning to slowly creep in.

Elendil looked at the building the distance and asked a soldier beside him. "Excuse me trooper, but is that the comms station?"

"yes," the driver didn't even turn around to answer.

The driver quickly pulled the breaks as well as every vehicle behind them, it took a few seconds for the lead convoy to realize the back stopped so they were ahead by a few meters when they pulled over. Most of the Mu Cepheian gunners were already taking aim at every angle while the soldiers dismounted, ready to take on an entire horde of monsters.

Maximus smiled "To late.." he thought to himself as he sent a tranq a dart down range towards Johans chest, quickly reloading live ammunition and picking up his net gun he moved slowing to see what had happend. This catch would be a good one, it was in his people blood to Observe and at times, take a hands on approach.

The two darts hit him right in the chest in two different spots, one hit in a thick part of his pilot suit and didn't break the skin, but the other one hit a thinner area and went right in to the skin releasing the sedative into his blood stream. As it began to kick in Johan noticed a shadowy figure coming closer to him he raised his pistol and fired at him, only managing to raise it far enough to shoot the figures leg if the shot was clean and lucky. He then with his last waking strength locked down his pistol in his holster none of his weapons could now be removed from his body.

Maximus smiled, he didnt need to use the net gun, so he put the chain around the animals neck(Calaverians refere to all races as inferior animals, even other humans). He sat there petting Johans head, he should wake up in about three minutes.

No one had noticed Johan missing. It wasn't until the order went out for the soldiers to check on their guest did they notice. Ethelwolf Guinn dismounted from the lead tank and looked around. He barked at a nearby soldier.

"What the hell is going on?" the soldier turned towards his pack leader.

"We're not yet sure, sir. However, it is possible we are under attack," thats when a creature that appeared to be a long worm with thousands of legs burst from the ground, slim falling every where. Three more of these creatures popped up from the ground as well and a large horde of crawlers, creatures with four sharp insect like legs and two pinchers) came from the forest. Ethelwolf Guinn began to fire his weapon as well as every Mu Cepheian in the convoy. The tank turned it's turret and fired a shell at one of the massive diggers, killing it. The other two diggers attacked the convoy, knocking vehicles over as well as people. Dropships flew over head firing rockets and missiles at one of the diggers, killing it as well. The other one dug under ground to escape. The crawlers, however, stayed. Their numbers an entire area of the forest in brown, the color of their thick skin.

OOC: Congrats guys, you just started the first "level" of the game. Enjoy kicking bug ass and I think I gave a big enough hint as to what the first "boss" will be...

Bob was walking along trying to figure where he would go next when he saw a convey go by. Then he heard some shouting to his left. He jumped in the bushes so he could not be seen. A guy was cussing furiously at another. I thought at first it was a guy from my home planet. It had been two years and they still had not called off the search. But then I looked and saw something I had never seen before. What were they?

Johan while being dragged realized his captor had made a vary big mistake, he forgot to restrain Johan. Johan could move his hands, arms and legs, when Maximus put him down he knew he had to act. He was now fully aware so he knocked his captors hand away and jumped to his feet. He clenched his fist in his right hand triggering one of his hidden blades to extend. he then looked right at the person who had just minutes ago knocked him out "You better start talking, just who are you? and what do you want?" he then heard the fighting and the bugs behind him so he knew he had to deal with this guy quickly.

To say they were chips would be inaccurate, though the age old colloquialism had managed to survive the test of time and transition to protien based neruofibers. This cultural oddity was not, however what was on O's mind. He could feel again, but was not overcome with emotion. He staggered to his feet, meaning to persue two people, when a large number of insects swarmed towards him. What light there was glinted off their thousands of shells. O reacted, unsheathing his knife and swiping at those nearest him, cutting them to bits. He ran, but several had gotten onto him, and were not attempting to negotiate through his armor. He crushed them with his powerful hands, still running. As he thought he was clear, a cannon fired nearby, a tank from the convoy. Thinking quickly, he thought it would be better to work with the people of the convoy then kill them later. He headed back, only to see an ocean of bugs headed towards the vehicles.

A simple chain around his neck would not stop him from finding out what he needed to know. With his left hand he grabbed the chain and pulled hard sending Maximus flying towards him. The man watched as the commotion unfolded, the kitsunes looking around trying to find him, the wolfish beings sensing his presence, the giant insects that had suddenly appeared. Most pleasing to him were the air units that had passed overhead. It was going as planned. "Sniper tactic 019: study thy enemy in any situation." The man said to himself, grinning underneath his helmet. "I don't know what you creatures are but I think its time I brought diplomacy into the situation, you are going to talk to me on my terms..." He muttered, "If only I had stealth armor..." He thought to himself, "Oh well." Using his powerful legs he jumped from his perch into the air rifle in one hand while drawing a pistol with the other. He fired at the obviously female kitsune who had spotted him earlier, a burst of dust erupting only a few inches in front of her, "Ghost, I gotta hand it to you, you know your stuff, I'll say this on your behalf, Assassin Tactic #2: Instill Fear," he mutters to himself. Simutaniously he fired downward, careful tomake the two shots overlap and only sound like one, the bullet from his pistol screams downward into the head of one the remaining insects, the AP explosive round tears the bug to pieces. Landing on another tree, he quickly sheaths the rifle and fires another round, making sure to hit one of the soldiers' weapons. "I've presented myself to you, how will you respond?" He mutters to himself while jumping to another tree branch.

He had to get away from this guy, he put some extreme tension on the chain using both hands, still with the blade on his right arm at Maximus's spine. With the amount of tension now in the chain enough force should break it. He angled his left fore arm just the right way activated the other blade allowing it to extend and then retract, the chain snapped in one spot allowing Johan to unhook himself and jump away. Finally. An outlet for its anger. It could detect the yells, gunfire and chittering of the battle back at the convoy about 2 miles away. It extended all of its blades about it's claws and then began deploying much smaller claws along the length of its arms. It then began sprinting towards the battle, insanely fast, smashing through the undergrowth and even trees as it accelerated rapidly, a trail of destruction in its passage.

Very soon, it could easily see the insectoid monsters charging to attack. As it came into contact, it began attacking, whirling it's arms around or making precision strikes with each arm, flying through the air as it lept about. The entirity of its shell was impervious to their biting, clawing attacks, unlike the shells of the bugs. Within seconds, the area about it was already filled with dead insect corpses or the pieces of them. It kept weaving about to avoid soldier fire arcs, sometimes shoving half living insects into the air for the benefit of the soldiers target-shooting. Deep inside, a dark satisfaction moved through its mind.

Kartosh really, really hoped they didn't decide to start moving again, as he was now hiding underneth a truck, holding his broken left arm from that beast. His Repeater was in his other hand and he winced as the whole vehicle shook with the fire from the turret at the top. By the sound of things, he was safer down here than he was up there.

Skyler twisted to the right as the bullets hit in front of her, doing a handstand to avoid any more fire, and saw the sniper do an impossibly long jump from one tree to another, firing on the convoy and bugs alike. "You wanna play mokey, huh?" Skyler snarled. "Let's play monkey." She ran up a tree, leaped into another tree, and took off after the sniper in the next tree over.

The simple combat blade was not enough to stop the tide of insects, and Mr.O realized this quickly. He sprinted over to a tank that had been turned on its side. He pulled the dead gunner from the tank's hatch, then wrenched the mounted machine gun from its turret. Mr.O gathered the .50 caliber machine gun in his right arm and the ammunition box in the other, then opened fire towards the insects and convoy passangers alike, aiming more towards the insects but not caring when a few shots headed towards the other defenders. Thinking enough bugs, and hopefully a few convoy members, had been killed he dropped the weapon and ran into the woods.

He then fired another shot at the tree above Maximus to bring a large branch down on him before quickly running off. He ran and kept running all the way back to the convoy which is when he encountered the bugs "Sweet jesus" he exclaimed from all the bugs around, He ran to the tank that was at the front of the convoy and went to the machine gun on top of it, he detached it front the mount, took the ammunition for and put it under his left arm, gun under the right and began shooting at any bug coming near him before retreating back to find the others like Skyler and Kartosh "Hey any one still around!" he shouted.

It was pretty chaotic around the area that the mchine had cleared: the ground was almost completely masked by a layer of insects. Twice it had dodged sniper fire from above, but looked to see a convoy member chasing after it, and decided it could not be bothered. The killing was alright down here.

A burst of heavy machinegun rounds hit the main body of the machine, each ricocheting off at a random angle, leaving not even a single dent on its surfae, yet blasting a few more of these insects. It had been analysing these creatures as it cut through them, noting the chitin armour and basic internal organs as it mowed through them. When it came to the heads of theose it chopped off, it noticed certain parts were overdeveloped. A hive mind of some sort? Not unique, since the machine race worked on a similar function. These would only be the footsoldiers, probably just cannon fodder to make them waste rounds. Foolish as this lot were, they would just wait until they ran out, sending in swarms more. If they got to a position with more firepower, then it might be possible for this group to actually take on the possible real threats. Like that sniper.

Skyler snatched a branch, swung herself up into the next tree, tumbled down and landed beside the sniper. The sounds of battle, they were neutral greeting to Maximus. Mostly human by his ears taste. He came to a slightly clear area, there was a man with a sword attacking what appeared to be the inhabitants of this world, or perhaps foreign powers. The man seemed to be talking to himself, and Skyler opened her mouth to ask again when he backhanded her. She lost her grip on his neck, which he apparently hadn't even felt anyway, and was barely able to keep her balance on the branch. Next thing she knew the guy launched himself off the branch, it shattering under his weight, obviously a side affect of the power armor. Skyler dropped, but she managed to hold onto her pistol and grab onto another branch with her other hand as splinter rained down around her. She looked up to see him flying though the air to another tree.

Skyler had no idea who this guy was, but he had been pointing a sniper rifle at the convoy, and at her, which pissed her off even more. And there was even the sound of battle back there, probably allies of his to cover his escape. An assassin? Perhaps. All Skyler knew was that she couldn't let him escape. Briefly she wondered where Kartosh was, but brushed the thought off, assuming her was back with the convoy shooting at the attackers and looking like he was protecting Terrek.

Raising her pistol, Skyler squeezed the trigger, not at the jumping man, but at the branch he was on course with. If all went well the branch would explode into flames and he would fall. She herself let go and dropped to the ground. If she was right she needed to get over there before he had time to recover from the fall.

OOC-In case you have not gathered, Mr.O has lost his mind, and the shorting neurosurpressive software in his brain is not helping. He will seem off to those around him, but no more off than a 7'6" killing machine ought to be.
Mr.O had seen much of the convoy members, infighting, chaos and kidnapping attempts. "They may not need me at all," he thought to himself, a concerning matter considering his thought inhibitor chips were active. He was becoming ajusted to this freedom of thought. He was free to plot, scheme and enjoy his work. He could use his genetically enhanced intelligence to hunt these people, and to have fun while he was doing it. This infighting could be used to eliminate them one by one, or he could take them all at once, or perhaps get close to them, bide his time, then strike when they were weakest. Maybe he could eat one of them; a bit unorthadox, but satisfying on a primal level. He watched them fight, one of his tentacles slithering beneath his armor in excitement.
After a few moments, a decision was made, and he headed towards the convoy, his hands raised over his head in surrender. He approached one of the Xscapians, the one he had thrown to the ground, judging by its injuries. He attempted to smile, making his face slightly more hideous.

She fired her blaster into the forest floor, shredding leaves and breaking the trace, looking away from the guy but making sure to keep him in her vision. Holstering the gun, she stared at the ground, continuing to watch him without actually looking at him.
If he ran, she could find him again.
She would wait.

Mr.O walked over to Jonas and the overturned truck. He crouched to the ground, digging his fingers under it, and hoisted. The truck flipped easily. As he walked away, a grenade was lobbed towards him. He punched it away from him and jumped, being sprayed in the back with shrapnel as the grenade detonated. He recovered and roared, the very trees shaking with his fury. He sprinted with inhuman speed towards the clump of foliage from wence the grenade originated, blade drawn, and grabbed a handful of some kind of material belonging to his assailant.

He began walking slowly to the kitsune, keeping his eyes on her but still killing any insect in his way. But by no means was that all he was focused on, they were all completely unaware of his suit's true purpose. He knew about the machine and the other kitsune, the overturned vehicles, the random hunter who had appeared out of nowhere, the wolven folk who continued to fight against the insects bravely apparently not noticing just how out of hand the situation had gotten. All the while he drew closer to the girl, he thought about what he was going to do to her, was he going to kill her? No, he would never intentionally satisfy the maddening voice in the back of his head. Tell her to piss off? Then what was the point of all this? Ask her why she had started chasing him, he didn't actually know why she had been so aggresive. But then again, why the hell did any of this happen in the first place? What was it, he remembered how his superiors warned him about forgetting the focus of a mission, then it hit him. He was looking for help, friends not foes, why the hell did he forget this? It was as if he had gotten to caught up in studying them, assessing them all as threats, to the point that he forgot the #1 rule. Learn, assess, befriend. That was what he was supposed to do, perhaps he had been too cautious. When he stapped out of his thoughts he found a trail of dead insects behind him but didn't remember killing them, he was looming over her with his arm extended towards her, offering his hand. When had he done that? He didn't know, he felt awkward, suddenly trying to befriend her? She wasn't going to trust him was she? He blushed, trying to think of something to say, what a strange place to be trying to make a friend, in a war zone. He laughed to himself, smiled and hoped she'd accept the gesture.

The machine finished clearing the area of bugs it was in: about it, hundreds of corpses lay in a pile a few metres high, at the base of which the rest of the insects circled cautiously. Angrily. Each kept flashing threatening displays at the machine, yet now knew better than to attack. The machine noticed the vehicle preparing to leave the area, and decided to clear it a path. It lept off the pile spinning the 6 flexible limbs as it came down, ripping a wide circle in the undergrowth and insects in the area.

"Get moving!"

It signalled to the vehicle attempting to move off as it held back any insect foolish enough to attack with a short lethal slash. Now away from major fighting, it began to review the situation. There were the group in the truck starting to move off, and the group further away. Three heat signatures, one of which was new. Then there were the rather angry insects, now very much reduced in number by heavy gunfire now quietened. Some giant insects had come at the convoy, now in pieces about it.

He drew his Gauss pistol from beneath his robes and pointed it at his new friend's face. Essentially a miniaturized railgun, it could accelerate its projectiles up to about 4km/s before they left the barrel, imparting enough kinetic energy to punch through any armor. Of course, with the projectile going that fast, it tended to simply bore holes through soft targets... but then, that was just fine if the round went through the head.

Skyler raised an eyebrow at Terrek but lowered her pistol. The armor was the source of this man's strength. Without it he would be as vunerable as any other. Unless he had concealed weapons, she and Terrek had all of his weapons too, so he was in no position to argue.
OOC: Basically we've managed to beat off the bug attack and aquired several new characters. Skyler went running off after the sniper, and Kartosh was attacked by Mr. O. The other characters proceeded to fight the bugs. Eventually Terrek went off to find Skyler because Kartosh had been wounded when Mr. O attacked him, and was in no position for combat. Mr. O came back but did not kill Kartosh, and spotted a Calaveran trying to tag and back Mr. O. Fire in his direction put him down, and Mr. O beat him up pretty bad, putting him in a coma and then chaining the man in the bed of a truck. Now Terrek and Skyler are trying to figure out what to do with the sniper, Johan is starting up the truck, Kartosh is waiting for Skyler and Terrek to get back, Mr. O is hanging around, and the Calaveran is unable to move. And that's it.

Mr.O called to the figures in the woods, who's conversation he could barley detect with his advanced hearing. "Interrogate him IN THE TRUCK! Before the bugs come back!" He slithered a tentacle from under his sleeve and started the engine, then honked the horn. He turned his attention to the robot, still fighting the remaining insects. "Hold them, but be ready to come with us, you will be needed!"

"So, what're gonna do then?" Redemption asked, "The machina has a point, we need to get out of here, tactically speaking. And tactically speaking, you two need to take into consideration that I intenionally put myself in this situation, I didn't have to disable my armor, stand there while you took my weapons, hell, you must still feel the backhand I gave you, you know my reflexes are a lot faster than you give me credit for. So why would I stand here and let you point my own weapons at me?" It whipped out an arm, and in a movement that defied human belief shredded an insect on a course to the truck now slowly starting to move. A small cloud of insect parts belw past on the wind, shredded into precise cubes about 8 cubic centimetres in size each.
"Happy? Now just get going."

There definately were much less coming now, though that mainly was because of the fact they were lurking in the undergrowth, moving in packs to try and overpower the robot, moving rapidly so it would not take all out in a single swing.
"I said, get going!"

Skyler's attention was torn between the man, Mr. O, who she'd never seen but assumed was a friend, and the machine screaming at them. "We don't have time for this foolishness," she said, curling her lip at the sniper, "the...,
she wondered what to call Mr. O, "man is right. Let's go. But any tricks, and all the armor in the world won't save you from the blaster bolt I put though your bare head." She gestured to the convoy. "Go."

Kartosh had climbed into the back of the truck and was now watching Terrek, Skyler and the sniper. "Bring him here, or shoot him, I don't care what, we need to get moving," he muttered.

As long as they treated him like a threat, he was going to keep the interaction to a minimum.

Meanwhile...

"Stonin, just to report in, I found him. He's with a mixed group, there's a few soldiers, something ugly (refering to Mr.O), a machina unit of some sort, and two human... things." Jack says into his radio while observing out of a pair of binoculars. "Wow Jack," a voice responds from his radio, "Your detailed descriptions never cease to amazing me. Just to let you know, Ghost is getting closer but you know him, he's really oldschool and decided not to wear a comm system. Be on the lookout and do not engage that group in any way. Stonin out." "At last."

The truck pulled off as he lept upwards, deep stab wounds suddenly appearing across a particularly nasty specimen of insect with a blur of motion. And insect backed off, glaring at him.

"Don't you look at me like that: I'm doing your gene pool a favour."

He waited for about 10 seconds as the truck moved off, retracting its blades to clean off the insect debris. It picked up a tree limb fallen on the ground, and threw it at the insects now chasing hopelessly after the lorry, trailing most of the tree it was attached to. After smashing as it hit a tree, the two parts continued onwards into the group of insects, seriously hindering them if not killing them. It then lept into the trees and began moving rapidly after the vehicle, before leaping down onto the roof, getting a purchase with secondary blades.
"Hope you didn't miss me, but I have some bad news for you: it seems the insects aren't very happy at us. Once they get over the pile of bodies, we'll have a problem. Until then, lets just keep driving fast enough to outrun them."

So, I have decided to cheat you all out of a proper post by using Alma to force everyone to respond to me instead. IC:

Ethelwolf Guinn yelled at a radiomen and soon several dropships landed near the convoy. All of the dead, wounded, and surviving Mu Cepheians were put on board. In a matter of a half 'n hour the entire force of Mu Cepheians were gone. That is when the bomber appeared and several objects ejected themselves from the bottom of the craft. Out of no where Alma appeared in front of the players, regardless of where they were or what they were doing. See looked at them, while smaller then all of them her eyes though showed she thought lowly of all them. She laughed a girly laugh and said.

"I can't have you all die here... Yet, I do love what the chemical weapons of the doggies do to living things... Oh, how death is great," the girl laughed again and twirl around.

"Nonetheless I can't have you all die... Just yet... I need all of you to live so you can die later..." the girl faded into the back ground. Suddenly the black object that was released by the Mu Cepheian bomber hit the forest floor, a massive flash came from the area where the bomb fell. There was no avoiding the massive H-bomb as the entire area was engulfed in explosions, magnetic pulses, and gamma rays. The only thing the players would be able to see was the flash from the bomb then darkness.

In a matter of microseconds the players would find themselves in an industrial area. Pipes ran along the concrete walls, ladders were every, and if the players were to look up they would see that there was no ceiling, but a massive black abyss leading to the roof of the building they were in. The players were in the lobby and by the look of the things the building they were in was a huge tower of sorts. A desk laid in between two elevators and a large numbers of paper was on the floor as well as human blood. In fact, a dead human body laid on top of the desk. A guard with a machine gun still in his hands, blood dripping from his lifeless body.

The two elevators were open and the lights inside them were on. They both seemed to work yet a eery feeling radiated from them. Since there seem to be no doors and the walls were too thick to crush though, the best choice seem to be to take the elevators. A screech, that echoed from above, seemed to disagree with that...

OOC: Rp your characters being shocked, etc, etc, etc. and hop in the elevators... No breaking though the walls or jumping to the roof. Also, Ethelwolf Guinn and some other Mu Cepheian will make another appearance soon... Just don't expect them to be weak as they were on the 1st level. Since you guys seem to ready I am now making this game a lot harder.

An anthro raptor appeared with the rest of the group. Looking around with a confused expression. He stood at least 6 feet tall, bearing black scales with blue markings. Over his left eye was a long X shaped scar. He wore baggy camo cargo pants and a leather bondage vest, no shirt. His toned chest was exposed, on his back was a large metal case, almost as long as he was tall, and near 3 feet thick and deep. Around his neck hung a set of dogtags that bore two diffrent sets of information. Each one scratched out with an X.

He almost instantly spun the case infront of him with a loud thud, drawing a HK mk23 from a hip holster and calling out in a tone that marked a seasoned vetran of many years. "What in the name of all hell just happened?!?" He said as he popped the case open to provide cover for himself.

Skyler whirled at the sound of the drop ships as they rounded up the last of the soldiers. She watched as they loaded. "Well, that's that. Looks like-" She stared in horror as the H-bomb was unleashed from the drop ship. "They're insane-" The bomb would destroy them all. And, for a moment, it seemed to, the annhilating blast of light and heat washing over them, blowing everyone away like a heap of sand under a tidal wave. Kartosh barely had time to see the shock wave speeding impossibly fast towards him. "Ohshit-"

And, suddenly, they were on top of a building, or so it seemed. The air was still, with no wind, and both mercenaries came to realize the ceiling was so high it was lost in the inky blackness. "HAH!" Kartosh screamed at the ceiling, materializing standing next to Mr. O and the still incapacitated Maximus. "YOU CAN'T KILL ME, YA BASTARDS! I JUST SURVIVED A NUCLEAR EXPLOSION! WHAT NOW? WHAT. NOW!"

Skyler was disoriented for a moment, then came back into reality, shaking her head wildly.
"And this is mine now,"
In the blink of an eye Skyler's pistol was out and pointing at his head. "Put the goddamn gun down, or so help me I will blow you away right here."
There was no telling what this guy could do, though he had already proven himself quite quick on his feet. Friend or foe, soldier of fortune or government assassin, he was an unknown factor. If he got a weapon, he could easily turn on them and kill her and Terrek. In short, she did not trust him. People don't shoot at you for no reason, and his evasiveness at answering her questions only made her more suspicious of his origins and intentions.

X lowered the pistol, sighing softly. The soldier at the dead body was obviously an experienced soldier. He wasn't sure about the rest of them. He holstered his pistol and leaned over his case. Slinging an empty belt around his waist. taking off his jacket, removing the bayonet and setting it aside as he clipped a weapons vest on himself. He moved with practiced and measured movements, assembling his hear on his body at the speed a soldier takes apart his rifle.

He switched the position of his pistol to his calf, tightening the straps and securing it there. pulling another set of pouches from the case as he strapped them to his right and left hips. the one on the right took up almost his whole thigh. The one on the left was multiple pouches, unmistakably an ammo pack. Securing a hud over his left eye and drawing an HK MSG-90A1. checking its action to make sure a round was chambered. Leaving its scope attached as he clipped the weapon to the chest strap. Now connected to his chest he clipped the case shut with his jacket in it and stood up. Looking around then up. Then at the elevators.

"So, we going up, or down..." He asked drolly, securing the knife to a new place on his bare chest, slinging the case over his back. The case bore multiple weapons scars from both energy and ballistic. As he looked around his HUD picked up various energy signatures, nothing abnormal. "I am Ethelwolf Guinn. Until just recently I was a pack leader in my clan. Now I am the clan leader and will soon become the ruler of one of the Eight Dynasties of Mu Cephei," Ethelwolf speaks, shifting in the steel chair.

"Good, lets get straight to the point. Why did you do the thing you did?"

"I do not know what you mean by that question. Can you go into more detail?" Ethelwolf fidgeted in his seat, placing both of his paws on the steel table.

"Why did you destroy the planet?"

"As you know, whenever it turns out that there is a large swarm of monsters on the planet, we nuke that sector and call it a day. The whole planet was covered with them so I gave the order to destroy the planet," Ethelwolf whipped some sweat from his forehead.

"We understand that part, but why? You left them to die alone there. I thought they helped you to kill her?" Ethelwolf Guinn laughed.

"That is why I did it. The fact was, they didn't kill Alma. They helped her to become stronger..."
