The Alliance focused there AA fire onto the incoming missles, although the masses of missles tore into two frigates and downed them for the count. Ground based plasma-ray cannons engaged the fleet, the ground and previous fleet AA fire against the nukes was quite effective, althoguh five nukes got through and hit citys, killing thirty million imitators as well as taking out three thousand ground units. The Two forces pounded as again as the Alliance kept a continued rate of plasma fire and missles.

The Two forces pounded as again as the Alliance kept a continued rate of plasma fire and missles.

The Combined firepower of the 2 battleships was massive, it wiped out anything in its way, and the plasma rays brought the battleships shields down to 86%. The fleet kept up a steady bombardment against the planet's AA disks, and the Imitator ships. 4 Cruisers grouped up and attacked the Scavenger ships, one by one. They were helped by hundreds of fighters pouring out firing torpedo after torpedo at the planet and the enemy ships.

Two more city's were hit by nuclear fire, the AA guns were working round the clock at engaging missles, even battle cars were trying to lock on and take them out. The ground base cannons were unaffected and continued to pound the enemy fleet, the massive beams coming our orbit and connecting with ships. The main fleet kept coming, another battlecruiser(scavenger) went down in fire. The Cruisers had sufferd light casualites of only one. There AA swiveld towards the fighters now as the enemy stopped firing missles at them, although the fighters torpedoes were targeted first. The Alliances small craft consisted of Contact class fighters and Solar bombers, the bombers aimed at capital ships, whil the Contact fighters were to dogfight there imperial counterparts, space was turned from a black abyss to exploding fire show as missles and rays connected.

Now, the corvettes came out,a long with bombers and scout ships, the corvettes had more firepower then fighters, so they engaged the enemy fighters and bombers. The Greal bombers, escorted by fighters, flew over the planet, dropping plasma warheads along with Hell fire torpedoes. Decoy bombs were also dropped, that way the enemy AA fire would have to destroy the decoy bombs also. The Battleships unleashed their mines, mines were "thrown" out of the battleship, then the mines were "attracted" to the nearest enemy vessels.

Unforgiveable

Patterson turned to Ari " Your going to see combat soon Colonel." The ship turned to hook up with the Achilles, from there they would meet up with the Medusa..

Aries Orbit

They continued to slug it out. Two more Shredders were taken out from the mines, and a scavenger lost her sensors, and she began to fire manually. The fleet was down to 3 Scavengers(battlecruisers) and two shredders, and her compliment of fighters that were left, they didnt seem to be harrassed by the enemy fighters, allowed them to lock on and fire there sidewinders. The Greal bombers that got through the defense net destroyed thirty homes and killed two thousands imitators, there bodys scatterd and homes bombed out.
Neo Kirisubo

"Understood Commander" Ari replied as the ship changed course. She didn't feel nervous about this prospect but it looked like it would be the first outing for first ever Alliance medical team assuming the injured could be recovered.

She could see the big picture at least on the Unforgiveable and after studying the ship systems felt ready to go into battle.
North Calaveras
01-04-2008, 20:44
Patterson briefed her " We are meeting up with the Achilles and Medusa, then we will make an attack run on a greal colony, return home and reinforce defensis, understood Colonel?" The Warship thunderd along in hyperspace, she would be the first to start swinging at the Empire.
Neo Kirisubo
01-04-2008, 21:37
"Do we know yet what level of defences we will be up against?" she asked trying to get a better idea of what was going on.

"Either way we'll hit them hard and fast and make them pay. Can we modify some missiles to carry imitator cells so we can also infect their water supply and infect the colony world without them knowing it?"

She smiled slightly thinking the way her people did. They were cunning and forward thinking people.
North Calaveras
01-04-2008, 21:43
Zorg turned in his chair " Easily, we can modify some sidewinders, and load the bombers with infector shells. In the choas of battle we will drop these weapons into there water supply, and to top the cake we will fire real ammunition as well."
Neo Kirisubo
01-04-2008, 21:48
"Do it Sergeant Zorg" Ari replied with a sly smile on her face.

Now they could infect the colony as well as strike back at the enemy who was attacking them. The Greal would pay big time as along as the Alliance had breath in their bodies.
North Calaveras
01-04-2008, 21:58
As the united mind of the Alliance was orderd, it did, Swarmite technicians began loading infector shells into the bombs and missles. There four armed bodys worked frantically, unscrewing and rescrewing the ammunition.
Neo Kirisubo
01-04-2008, 22:04
So the Unforgiven continued on its way as they made the detour to meet up with the Achilles and Medusa.

This colony would most likely survive the attack but then they would be assimilated without them knowing it.

Ari was looking forward to this as they would be able to strike the first blow against the Imperials and make them suffer.

The scout ship, cloaked, appeared on the battlefield, recording devices working at maximum to discern the battle. It seemed the Imperial assault was going well, many Imitators had already been killed, and the fleet was failing fast. Soon they would order a nuclear strike on the planet to wipe it clean of life, Imitated or not. Such a waste, when it could be sprayed with the Imitator-killing chemical and taken for a colony for the Empire, but the Grealians do as they saw fit.

Unit 323956 had her orders, releasing a number of probes into the battle to watch and listen, seeing the strikes and intercepting transmissions from both sides. Some of the probes would undoubtly be destroyed in the chaos, but enough would survive to report sufficently. Unit 323956 had her orders to take a Imitator ship, Shredder or Nova prefferably, to be brought back for Xiscapian scientists to study. Finding out how their systems worked might unlock an easier way to defeat them in combat.

The attack continued. torpedoes from the fighters were aimed at the Shredder Class, the 10 Lasom Class Frigates gathered up into a group and used their combined firepower against the Shredders. The Battleships and cruisers dealt with the enemy cruisers. A massive barrage of 500 lasers opened up from the battleships at the cruisers, along with the megabolt cannons.
North Calaveras
02-04-2008, 07:34
The battle raged as the shredders fired there last salvo's of plasma-nukes and torpdoes, and plasma-rays before they burst into flame in space. The Battlecruisers also fired all weapons and diverted all there non-essential systems to weapons and fired, there last cry of violence before the space battle ended. On the surface the ground plasma-rays continued to shred into the damaged Greal fleet.

Another frigate finally turned into debris, but it released all its torpedoes at the planet and the ships. The Battleships fired over and over at the planet, There still was plenty of ammunition. And better yet, another Greal fleet would be arriving soon to reinforce the Greal fleet currently attacking the planet. Escort carriers arrived to drop off fighters and bombers.

The fleet began to turn on the planet, firing hundreds of Plasma warheads into the crowded regions of the planet. Hell Fire Torpedoes were fired, hundreds of them, at the planet. Even the battleships, used their Megabolt cannons to bombard the cities.

The planet was lit afire from the xenocidal Grealians. They were an enemy that showed no mercy to her prey, she was a monster in her own right.

OOC: 3 frigates destroyed, that may sound like a small number, but my battleships and cruisers suffered heavy damage, so another fleet will have to replace them in battle.

IC:

The Admiral of the fleet, clearly pleased by the destruction of the planet's Imitators and their fleet, watch the planet being nuked over and over, the fleet made sure it was completely lifeless by dropping more Plasmma warheads in deserted areas.

The Techars were out to wipe out the Imitators.

The Alliance united mind was aware of the Greal's tactics seemed to involve hitting the weaker worlds, working there way to the heart. They were acting like a poision, shutting down weaker worlds and clawing there way to more important ones. Well, this was to say the nuking was not unanswerd as she had two attack fleets that were going to bear down on the worlds of Miller and Pamp, but this attack was going to be different. Miller would be attacked by a fleet as was Pamp at the same time. In this attack the imititors had the ability to deliver salvos of imitator shells upon the enemy then swiftly retreating and attacking another world, this strategy was in high hopes.

OCC: Alright, dosnt matter, im not going to be hitting you from orbit my freind ^^.

Pamp

The fleet was nearing there destination in hyperspace, before they burst out of the hyperspace tunnel and they slowed. They had entered the system and sensed the enemy presence, they would completely ignore the Calaverian ships, as they couldnt fire there plasma-pings for five minutes, allowing them to beat up on the other fleets. This was the Insurgents main job as they cloaked and were to circle the enemy fleet while the main forces engaged battle with the enemy, then there high-powerd Anti-ship weapons would cut lose into the choatic fray of enemys.

Miller

The Miller attack fleet arrived two minutes early and did the same thing, there Insurgents cloaked and targeted the "WARLORD" and "LAST EMPIRE" They would engage there engines from behind and tear them apart from the ass to the front. The Main fleet was merely a distraction for the two big boys they wanted to down.

The Main fleet was merely a distraction for the two big boys they wanted to down.

However, the Miller attack fleet jumped right next to a frigate, and the frigate was suddenly destroyed in half, the alarm was raised, and the admiral realized that cloaked ships arrived, he ordered some of his ships cloaked, the rest would target them. Meanwhile, below the planet, the population of Pamp and Miller was not very big though to the fact that the recently colonized.

Meanwhile, the headquarters received news of the attack, and quickly assembled the 4th Assault fleet for an attack on the Imitator planet of Aquarius Maximus.

The accidental jump didnt prove to harmful, the Grealian fleet didnt fire, and they downed one of there frigates. They opened fire on full-bore, as the Terrassimilators (cloaked) and Solar Bombers armed with Bio-shells raced for the planet. Plasma-rays, plasma-nukes, and torpedoes Marathoned there way into the Imperial ranks. The fighters raced attempted to distract the Greal escort ships, mauling at them with plasma and sidewinders.

Pamp

The fleet opened from long-range with plasma-nukes and torpedoes. There plasma-rays charging to full power as they closed into range with the Imperials. The Alliance solar bombers broke off from the assault and flew to hide behind the moons, they would sweep onto the world and drop there load's and then high tail it out of there.

However, the bombers were spotted since the Greal forces had "radar". Greal fighters in large numbers went after the bombers. Patrol ships also went after them. Suddenly, some of the Greal fleet became cloaked, small ships remained uncloaked.

OOC: We know where Celestis is because we've been there before, the Xiscapians, ditto with Cyroartica. The tiny colony Unit 323956 destroyed I can easily say came from ship's logs of the captured transports. It would be good enough to land on the surface on a conquered Imitator world and steal files containing the location of Imitator worlds and colonies. Besides, Greal opened trade with the Imitator before they betrayed them, so Greal would have to have been told some planet or moon to ship their supplies, not to mention the Berrax they sent. This dosen't mean we know where all Imitator worlds are, but we have a pretty good idea of where most of them are.
IC:
Vice Admiral Dovenhawk sat in the command chair on the bridge of the XIW Smoke. They were in orbit over Nova Max with the rest of the fleet, mantaining order and ensuring that the Techar didn't try to wipe the last of the Berrax from the galaxy. Now, however, they were planning an attack. The fleet would go to Celestis, assisted by a small Greal fleet, to take the world for the Kitsune Empire. The tactics were simple enough: Destroy the fleet in orbit and the guns on the ground, then spread the Imitator destroying chemical over the planet. Doing so would sanatize it, freeing Celestis for the Xiscapians to colonize.

It was amusing that it had once belonged to their hated enemies, the Calaverans, when it's ultimite fate was to become a kitsune world. He was awaiting the arrival of the Greal Fifth Fleet, where he and the Admiral in charge would coordinate the attack plan. Unlike most of the other Imitator world, the Xiscapians had very good intelligence on Celestis, knowing exactly how many ships there were, with good troop and surface guns locations and estimates.

The 5th fleet arrived at Nova Max, led by Admiral Glima. It was not very big, compared to most Greal fleets. However, the cruisers posed a threat to anyone, it carried some new weapons modified for this mission. Such, as the Hell Fire torpedo batteries, which could blast capital ships into dust.

Feeling confident after the easy and zero casualty take over of the Imitator assimilation fleet, he now spread an air of arrogance about himself. The Xiscapian inclined his head. "Greetings, Admiral Glima I assume?"

Dovenhawk nodded. "The planet we plan on assaulting is an Imitator controlled one, probably only the second or third planet they took, once inhabited by Calaverans, a race of humans, now virtually extinct. This planet has a wide range of Xiscapian intel which I have been provided with, including ship strength, types and positions, as well as locations of vital cities and factories. In orbit there is a Galactic glass ship, the most powerful of Imitator ships, the equivalent of one of your Super Destroyers. Also there is ten Scavenger class, battleships, five nova class, basic warships, three shredder class, frigates, one hundred contact fighters and fifty solar class bombers. Normally I would advise against engaging one, but I feel with our superior numbers and firepower we cannot fail. Our combined fleets give us ten cruisers, twelve frigates, one "mine" ship, although I am informed it shoots "homing mines" so forgive me to call it a missile ship. And, of course, a hospital ship. That is your fleet, Admiral. Our fleet is comprised of three cruisers, three battleships, two destroyers, a medical ship and a carrier, in addition to supporting troop ships. The troop ships will be sitting this one out."

"Here is my plan of attack: Our thirteen cruisers will go in first, targeting the small craft, Nova classes and Shredder classes. Just behind them will come the Destroyers, which will fire upon the Scavengers. Finally our Battleships will target the Galactic glass and it alone, while the Carrier and Medical ships hang back. Your missile ship will also target the Galactic class, bombarding it until the ship is either destroyed or it runs out of ammunition. Eight smaller, weaker Imitator ships will fall quickly to our cruisers, as will the fighters. Once destroyer they can be split to concentrate on the remaining Scavengers and Galactic ship. Once the orbiting fleet is destroyed the ships will begin shuttling wounded and start the needed repairs, except for your missile ship, if it has any weapons left, if not we will fit our fighters. What I refer to is that we fill our missile warheads with the Imitator-killing agent, wiping out all Imitators on the surface. This will leave the planet and structures unharmed, as well as spare us from having to land invading forces and take casualties. I will claim the planet as a colony for the Kitsune Empire, and you will have one less Imitator planet to continue supplying the enemy."

Dovenhawk rested his chin on his hands. "What are your thoughts, Admiral?"

The Third Assault Fleet had one hundred sixty-seven fighters, fifty-six patrols one hundred drones and five corvettes to it's name in small craft numbers. They outnumbered them in fighters alone, never mind the other small craft in addition to whatever the Fifth Fleet could provide.

The fleet arrived as planned, cruisers out in front, destroyers just behind, then battleships, then the hospital ships and carrier. The fighters and patrols were unleashed forward, quickly outflying the larger, slower capitals but keeping out of the range of the planatary defenses. The corvettes stayed back, protecting the destroyers from bomber attacks as the guns swiviled to target the Alliance fleet. On the bridge of his battleship Smoke Dovenhawk smiled as the two fleets conformed perfectly with each other.
Alliance fleet, self-destruct immediatly. Alliance guns, go offline immediatly. Alliance lifeforms, lay down your weapons and march away from all population centers. If we do not register compliance within the next thirty seconds we will be forced to destroy you ourselves.

OOC: This is in relation to the diplomacy with Greal in the Trappings of Empire (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=553307) thread. In short, I promised him a superfortress to aid him in his wars.

IC: It had been some time in the transit. The Victorian Architecture was one of the two superfortresses the Realm possessed - smaller supercapital ships, capable of perhaps destroying a few small fleets. Depending on your definition of the word "small", admittedly. She had been blooded in the war with the Arl'skich, pushing them to the edge of extinction within a few weeks. After that, she had headed into the Fleetmind War, fighting one of the most deadly and clever opponents the Realm had ever faced.

They had won, and, without a rest, Vicky had been rerouted to the Imitator conflict, in support of the Realm's new vassal, Greal. Her mission was threefold. Firstly, to destroy Imitator military capabilities. Yet, for all she had heard, this had been taken care of satisfactorily already. Secondly, to impress upon both the Greali and their allies the power of the Realm. A little ostentatious, it was true, but if people knew of their fleets, and their capabilities, they would be less likely to war upon the Realm.

And lastly, to preserve as many Imitators as possible for study and resettlement. Of course, this would mean preserving the populations on Celestis for now, until they could be properly removed - or, alternatively, she thought, they could merely keep the population on Celestis, and impose a quarantine from there. It depended, really.

The Victorian Architecture jumped into position, a short distance away from the combined Greali-Xiscapian fleet.

Greetings. This is the Realm superfortress craft, the Victorian Architecture, arriving to aid our Greali allies in the war as was agreed. We request information as to your battleplan and intentions towards the Imitator population on the planet once the battle is won.

Greetings. This is the Realm superfortress craft, the Victorian Architecture, arriving to aid our Greali allies in the war as was agreed. We request information as to your battleplan and intentions towards the Imitator population on the planet once the battle is won.
The Communications Officer turned to Dovenhawk, a slightly worried look on his face. "Vice Admiral, these people are not logged into our databanks, nor has there been any information from Greal about this."
Vice Admiral Dovenhawk considered for several moments. This could change the battle, and quite possibly the entire war, significantly. "Message back..." he said.
Greetings to the Victorian Architecture. This is the Xiscapian Battleship Smoke, in alliance with the Grealians against the Alliance of Imitated Worlds. Our currently battle plan is this: The small craft and cruisers are at the front, to destroy the Imitator small craft, frigates and warships. Behind them are the destroyers and battleships, which will concentrate their fire on the battleships and Galactic class planet ship. Behind these will be the Grealian missile ship in support. On the edge of the battle where there is little chance of them being harmed will be the two medical ships and carrier. Once the small craft, frigates and warships have been destroyed all fire will be concentrated on the Battleships and Galactic class until they fall.

After the battle we, the Xiscapians, plan to spread a Imitator-killing chemical across the planet though filling missile warheads with it and firing them into the atmosphere, which will cleanse the planet off all Imitated lifeforms. The chemical is harmless to all other life and dissipates after the job is done. Once the planet is safe Xiscapian forces will claim the planet for Xiscapian colonization.

OOC: HT, just to let you know, NC is dropping out for an unspecified amount of time due to RL issues. He told Greal and I to destroy the AIW but leave a few Imitator ships hanging around the galaxy. He also stated he would like the Calaverans to reclaim Celestis. I told him of my claim to the planet, and he told me the Calaverans would offer a similar planet to the Xiscapians for colonization in exchange for Celestis in their hands once again.

OOC: Rightio. We'll just go with what's planned - I don't think he'd mind if I took a few hundred for study, would he? If he does, I can always retroactively remove them from my nation, so it should be good.

IC:
Seems simple enough. Out of curiosity, do you mind if we take it upon ourselves to lift a few Imitators off the world, in order for future study? I can assure you they will be kept in safe captivity, and never released again. Nonetheless, their cellular structure has been of great interest to many people, and since we are here in any case..

Oh, and if you'd care for some cover, I can empty out my missile banks to distract the fleets initially. I have a volley load of eighty-four thousand missiles, and a total complement of one-point one-oh-eight-eight million missiles. Most of them are just old nuclear fission missiles, so they probably won't achieve many kills, per se, but they'll play hell with enemy sensors, allowing your fleet to take minimal losses. Not to mention the fact that Imitator weaponry will be engaged in point-defense, so they won't have much firepower to spare on you.

Either way, I see you've got this war more-or-less wrapped up. We're on request from our allies, and there's nothing else to expend our resources out here before we head on home for resupply. We'd just like to minimize casualties where we can - I understand that when your crew die, they're dead on what you'd call a permanent basis?

Missiles were locked into bays, prepared to fire. The strategy Vicky had outlined was quite simple. A major, constant missile attack on the Imitator positions, so the Xiscapians and Greali could advance with more than enough cover to keep them out of trouble. Normally, she'd be a bit worried about expending all her missiles at once, but it was a mission half-designed to impress. She was sure she could justify the expenditure under that.

Ah, well. It seemed a little horrible, to be honest. Stealing a victory from someone who had worked for it so hard. She'd just sit back, fire missiles, and let the battle go as it had been going to go before.

What the hell do they mean, 'permanent basis'?! I've never heard of anyone dying on a non-permanent basis!!
Not at all, take as many as you like. We assume you know just how contagious this disease is, and won't drill you on proper containment methods. Covering fire would be appreciated, if it is not too much trouble.

Eighty-four thousand missiles. Away. They streaked across the backdrop of stars and planets in front of the allied fleets, towards the Calaveran ones. They were distributed rather evenly, proportioned as according to each ship's ability to destroy them. They might've killed one or two ships, had they not been set to explode just a little before they'd do maximum damage. That way, more of them would survive, and, when they exploded, they'd play hell with the Imitator sensors. The sheer quantities of energy released would make it intensely hard to focus on the approaching Xiscapian and Greali fleets.

Volley #1 away. Volleys #2-4 will be released around your fleets as you approach. It'll give them more to focus on as you approach.

With that, she shut the link. From one of the superfortress's bay slipped a heavily shielded transport. It would follow the allied fleets up, and land on Celestis to capture some Imitators as soon as it was possible.

Dovenhawk's eyebrows raised in surprise. The volly which was meant to merely confuse the Imitators while the allied fleets approached had taken down the Galactic class, as well as three frigates. Now the Third Assault Fleet was well within range on the Imitator fleet and planetary defenses.
"Sir, multiple small craft contacts coming from the planet." reported the Scanning Officer.
"The Cruisers know what to do. Activate the point-defenses." ordered Dovenhawk.
At the front of the fleet a thousand missiles with antimatter warheads streaked out to meet the fighters, followed by lancing red beams of light. The lasers woule hit and destroy a fighter, then make a connecting jump to the next closest, then the next in a spiderweb of explosions. Meanwhile the Destroyers and Battleships shuddered under their own weapons fire as they unleashed MAC shells, laser beams, ion cannons and missiles against the Imitator Scavenger classes.

The fighters plasma and torpedos didn't even scratch the Smoke's shields as it fired a volly at the nearest Scavanger. The Destroyers and Battleships focused on the Scavangers, while the Cruisers pounded the Nova class ships. Dovenhawk smiled to himself. This was far easier than he had expected. Shuttle-pods swept down onto the surface of Celestis, some dying, some not. They were expendable, after all. Small grey spheres, kept aloft by their own temporary generators, sweeping Imitators into their frozen holds, some under fire by the occasional burst of weaponry, but they were unmanned. It was a costly way of gaining prisoners, but safer than moving the superfortress into high orbit - just in case there was, as many races tended to have, one last secret weapon.

About five thousand Imitators, in total, were collected. A few hundred spheres had been shattered, and then Vicky came in closer, utilising her gravitics to pull the surviving spheres towards her. The spheres alone held temporary cryogenics bays. Once they were inside, they were subjected to a somewhat tougher confinement program.

Firstly, they were quickly tipped into individual cryo cells, vac-suited workers freezing them in a air-drained bay. They understood the Imitator propensity to infect the air itself, and, while Vicky was sure that, even in the case of an infection, she'd be capable of containing it, it was probably better to be safe.

After that, the cells were wrapped in silksteel cocoons, impenetrable from the inside, should the Imitators attempt to escape. The bay itself was sealed off, and filled with a rather wide assortment of deadly nanites, capable of eating through any biological being that decided to go inside. Just in case one of the crewmembers was already infected, by some manner of chance. Lastly, and a short row of shaped nuclear charges were placed around the edges of the bay. Any attempt to escape en route, and they'd go off, killing the Imitators.

There. She thought they'd be fairly secure - no matter how clever or powerful they were.

Just to allay any fears you might have, we've cryo-frozen the Imitators, wrapped their cryo cells in silksteel, put them in an isolated holding bay, filled the holding bay with rather deadly nanites, and set nuclear charges in the bay to explode if they should manage to circumvent these other measures. When we return home, they'll be placed in atmospheric orbit of a gas giant, on a station kept aloft by gravitic skyhooks from another, larger, orbiting station. Should they manage to overwhelm the station they're on, we can safely drop it into the depths of the gas giant.

Just to make sure you don't have any fears about this perennial enemy of yours managing to return.

- Vicky out

The battle was all but done. She'd stay around long enough to ensure the Imitators didn't have another fleet ready to come in and ambush the orbiting ships - until the gas was released, and then she'd leave. There was the morbid curiosity, of course. Killing planets wasn't something one got to do every day, and she wanted to know how the Xiscapians would deal with it.

The message was received with the equivalent of a nod as the Third Assault Fleet prepared. Vice Admiral Dovenhawk smiled wanly at the last sentence of the transmission from the superfortress. If there was one thing the kitsune had learned during their time in the galaxy, it was that nothing ever stayed dead. Somehow, somewhere, things always came back. The Infected had, before the Xiscapians destroyed them the second time, and so had the Calaverans, before being utterly wiped out by the SASM. The trick was, obviously, to kill it twice.

Hovering in high orbit now, the Wasp class Battlecruisers Speed, Legacy and Luck, as well as the Destroyers Servant and Warrior, were floating in a position, if space was flat, as if they were overturned, to point their full armament of weapons at the planet. Intelligence showed two hundred AA guns, one hundred guns intended to bombard orbiting ships, and one hundred nuclear silos. These were targeted by the Light Guns and Ion Cannons of the fleet.

AS guns would do little against the ground-based weaponry, and any of the larger guns would simply punch a hole though the planet, but Ion Cannons disrupted electrical and computer systems for long periods of time, and the Light Guns could have their beams calibrated to a fine point to destroy specific targets. This was so accurate that tests had shown a Light Gun sitting in high orbit on a Battlecruiser could hit something as small as a coin precisely, vaporizing it and leaving a little smoking hole in the ground. The surface guns provided a rather larger target area, and the silos could be easily shut down by firing Ion into them.

And so it began. Eighty four Ion Cannons and sixteen Light Guns fired blue/white beams of light at the Imitator batteries. In no time it was over, guns firing, re-targeting and firing again in seconds, leaving all the Imitator surface guns and missile silos either smoking piles of slag or functionless pieces of equipment. And now the fun began.

As the Battlecruisers and Destroyers withdrew from orbit the hanger doors on the Ritual opened, unleashing one hundred Shuriken class fighters. The Carrier had joined back up with the rest of the fleet, along with the Medical Ship Spirit, once the Imitators had retreated. The fighters formed into Squadrons and broke atmosphere with burn flames flashing around them as each took to a different part of the globe. From space it was impossible to see, but millions of tiny capsules, barely larger than the head of a pin, were being released from the fighter's bomb bays. These spore-like capsules were releasing a fine rain of the chemical onto the planet, bursting once they hit air from their vacuumized containers. The planet was saturated with the stuff, leaking though buildings and rock because it was an acidic compound.

Harmless to biological creatures, and safe enough to even eat, it was lethal only to creatures with Imitator cells inside them, or the cells themselves. It ate away at them, finding the cleverly hidden cells among the brain of the organism and destroying them. Unfortunatly this could not bring back whoever had been unfortunate enough to be host to the cells, and one was left with a corpse.

After the fighters had spread their load they broke back up though the atmosphere to the Ritual. The planet was scanned by the Battleship Smoke, and again the hanger doors of the Ritual opened, spilling out four drop ships. These shot towards the surface, one landing at the north pole of the planet, one at the south, one at the equator and one landing in what had once been the Calaveran capitol of their homeworld. Aside from all the dead Imitators and lifeless vehicles and weapons, it looked normal. Kitsune in Biological warfare (http://miggs69.deviantart.com/art/Chemical-Warfare-Field-Medic-62450060) suits leaped out, a full platoons worth of thirty in each area. Equipped with field scanners and sensors, they reported the planet clean, cleansed of Imitated life.

Celestis once again belonged to natural forces, and, as a Biohazard Major slammed a black flag with a silver katana on it into the dirt in the capitol in an archaic show of possession, to the Xiscapians.

A beam of light came down where the flag was located, and thirty personall came out of existance. An officer and twenty nine other GOU troopers had appeared right in front of the Xscapians. The officer let some tears out of his eyes and watched them hit the smooth grass of Celestis, he got on the ground like all the other soldiers and almost rubbed themselves in the dirt of there homeworld, the officer let some words out " I am Lt. In space Vice Admiral Dovenhawk's eyes widened in surprise as an Observer appeared before him. Obviously the Calaverans were not dead. "All craft, target that Observer!" he ordered, and made a transmission to it:

"Excuse me a moment," said the Major, and turned his back, standing by the flag as he spoke to Dovenhawk via his in-helmet communicator, informing him of the new developments.
The Xiscapian Vice Admiral was already well aware of the situation.
"Get me into contact with the XNHQ." he ordered his Communications Officer.

From there was a whirlwind of activity. Dovenhawk contacted Head Admiral Krystal, who contacted the Imperial Palace. The Palace, and the general population, was quite shocked to learn the Calaverans had survived the assault of the SASM. Meetings were quickly arranged as they had been before Xiscapia had been involved in this, diplomats and military commanders meeting in conference halls and offices, everyone talking about what to do with the Calaverans.

The main problem was that the Calaverans technically were a part of the Intergalactic Empire of Greal. This made all Observers their property, and all GOU their citizens. If Xiscapia handed over Celestis to the Calaverans, the Greali would almost certainly claim it as their own over the Calaverans because they technically owned the Calaverans. Also, records showed that Calavertis was also land owned by Greal, and any arrangement made for it's possession would have to go though them.

There were third conflicting schools of thought: One, mostly the military commanders and the more passionate kitsune, said the Calaverans should be annihilated on the spot. The second advocated a simple refusal as the best course of action, simple a, nonviolent, and probably the most profitable. The third said that Xiscapia should throw caution into the wind and take the Calaverans up on their offer.

Option one would undoubtedly be pleasurable, and cause the least headaches. But it was not how the Xiscapians worked. Dismissed. The second, while the most attractive, would probably spark a war between the remaining Calaverans and the Xiscapians. While the Empire could certainly be victories, Celestis had no real strategic significance or resources that could be useful to it. Also dismissed. Option three looked the most attractive. The Xiscapians could force the Calaverans to agree to whatever they pleased, holding their planet ransom, and gain a different, richer planet in the process.

So those assembled chose Option Three.

Calaverans, we are currently sending a transmission of our resident ambassador. She will outline the terms which will result in your people receiving their homeworld again.

We have seen there way's ambassador, they nuke worlds that could be ripe for resources. They waste the life of the universe to fit there own gains, and should not be trusted. Xiscapia was well aware of the events that surrounded the take over of the Calaverans to Greal, but Kece wanted to hear it first hand. "Term I: Release of all prisoners.
Under this term the Calaverans will release all prisoners they are currently holding at this time to the Xiscapian government.
Term II: Removal of cells and operation rooms
No longer will any Observers carry holding cells (excepting a brig) or a dissection operation room.
Term III: Dismantlement of weaponry
All Observers will turn over their fighter craft and Post Walkers to the Xiscapian government, or destroy them. All Observer Superlasers and other ship weaponry is to be dismantled. Crew is allowed to keep assault rifles, sidearms, ect. The only exception to the this term is discussed in item VI.
Term IV: Appointment of overseers
All Observers are to staff one (1) Xiscapian overseer to view all Calaveran operations to ensure trust between the Xiscapians and Calaverans.
Term V: Defensive Fleet and planetary defense forces
Due to the destruction of HOME which allied forces were unable to prevent, the Calaverans are permitted a home fleet for Celestis of no more than six (6) Observer craft and no more than two thousand (2,000) Probe fighters. These may be armed with whatever weaponry the Admiral sees fit. However, each ship will still bear an overseer. Ships of the defense fleet are not to leave the system in any case barring extreme situations which can be defined as the probable destruction of Celestis from hostile forces. Post Walkers and GOU on the surface are unrestricted. Maximum allotted surface guns of all types is two thousand.
Term VI: Exchange of planets
Calaveras is to exchange Calavertis to the Kitsune Empire of Xiscapia is exchange for the Empire turning ownership of Celestis over to Calaveras."

Ambassador Kece turned to Captain Oponis. "You must summon your forces here, to Celestis, with all haste. Meanwhile we will be going to Calavertis, to transport the rest of the population here and claim the world as our own."
OOC@Greal:
Do you mind if I basically make a finisher post for the AIW war, to end this thread as NC is no longer RPing the AIW, as well as a post of the transaction of Xis-Calaverian people and ships?
OOC@NC:
perhaps the Calaverian goverment will admit your intelligence and consider you a worthy race...
HAH!
We decimated your armed forces, destroyed the very things that destroyed nearly all the Calaverians, gave our lives for HOME fighting the SASM, are (no offense) superior to you on the emotional, intellectual, technical and governmental levels, not to mention the kitsune tactic of diplomacy and negotiations before war and bullets, and we might be considered a intelligent and worthy race?
That's a good one.
Tell me something: Are the Calaverians stupid, so xenophobic they are blind, or both?
...
....
OOC3:
Sorry, I've had a bad day...

OCC: lol, im sorry about your days "hugs" there you go ^^

OCC2: It was just a war, and the Casuality limit of the war was extremely low, you can see now that the Calaverians arent as xenophobix, i mean they are, but when it comes to business they are even.(no there not stupid)

OOC@ Greal: Yes.
OOC@NC:
Xenophobia and stupidity are easy to confuse...one might even go so far as to say they are the same...but never mind that.
Calaverians will be Calaverians.
And, while the casualty count was low on all sides (I didn't even lose a thousand kitsune), you lost Celestis and almost the entire population to the Imitators. If that's not a big loss, I don't know what is. :p

OCC: lol it was a big loss, but that's when i sucked at FT(reason why im bringing back calaverians, so lets get by the war, it was shitty and short, not even a excuse to stop dealing with Calaveras

OOC: Right then. Just make a post summoning the other free Calaverian Observers to Celestis, and I'll make the big finisher...

OCC:kk

Meralius sent a message to all Observers in the galaxy, the message would move out 360 degrees and pick up any observer. The message read as follows...

" Celestis liberated, return to homeland for re-integration of fleet and command, prepare for ground re-construction."

Meralius turned to Kece " When they get here, they will drop all combat personall except for boarding partys to the surface for protection, we wont be landing troops on other worlds for some time, so we assume its the best course of action." he bit his lip for a moment " We will keep out fleet in orbit until we can replace the fleet with a new class we have been planning on building, thanks to you we have had to make some changes" he smiled.

Kece was sure they had made changes to their ships. The Observers, armed with only a single beam weapon, were useless in a fight while they charged. When fired the beam devastated whatever it hit, but Xiscapian shields had (barely) stood up to the assault, and by targeting the laser dish on each Observer they were quickly castrated it of their only weapon, aside from the enormous compliment of Probe fighters each carried.
"I must be returning now Captain. We will move our fleet from orbit but the majority of ships will stay here, in-system, until they are recalled home. Remember," she looked at him gravely, "we are watching. Always watching. One step out of line and..." She smiled sweetly as the Smoke beamed her back to the Imperial fleet.

The Observers arrived soon enough, beaming down tens of thousands of GOU and other Calaverians back to their home planet. Meanwhile the transport ships returned from their mission at Terracropolis and made course for Calavertis, with the escort of the Legacy, Luck and Warrior. The transports landed with a message sent well beforehand informing both the Greal ships and soldiers and the Calaverian people that the Calaverians were being transported to Celestis, and that Calavertis was now under Kitsune Imperial control. The ships relayed continually until all the Calaverians were off-planet, then the Greali ships and troops withdrew and went home.

The war against the AIW went quickly from there. The AIW was rapidly losing essential resources, and Greal fleets destroyed planet after planet. The Imitator war machine was slowly grinding to a halt as more worlds were covered in a cleansing nuclear fire, finally leaving only Cryoarctica and it's considerable defenses. At that point a massive Greali armada of hundreds of ships descended onto the world in a slow, bloody battle in space, on the surface and below the surface as the Greali sought to eradicate the Imitators once and for all. Finally, at last, the Imitators revealed their ultimate weapon: A gigantic bomb placed near the core of Cryoarctica, with enough power to destroy the world. The Greali fleet attempted to flee, but many were caught in the blast as the entire planet exploded outward, killing the Imitators.

Finally, it was over, but the Greali had been sloppy: A small number of Imitator ships, no more than a dozen, managed to escape to parts unknown. Greal itself took no significant losses excepting for the last battle of the war, in which a large portion of the armada sent to finish the war was destroyed by the bomb. So marked the end of the first major conflict of Greal outside of it's own rebellions and uprisings. As a people, Berrax and Techar and humans alike, they were united, however grudgingly. Greal was free of the Berrax rebels, free of the AIW, free of the Calaverians, not to mention the combat experience gained from the war by the military. Greal has suffered some, but the wars positive effects far outweighed the negative.
At least for some.
Sadly, the puppet President and corrupt, Techar-controlled government remained.

The Xiscapians withdrew the Third Assault Fleet after making sure Calavertis was under their control and ready to be colonized. Nevertheless, probes and scout ships prowl the Intergalactic Empire of Greal's space, and a kitsune overseer it present aboard every Observer. The Empire had gained much: The destruction of the AIW, control over the Calaverians, and a planet, more than they had originally hoped. Vice Admiral Dovenhawk received a promotion for his work from Head Admiral Krystal herself. He was cited for the "systematic destruction of the enemy" "unification of a fractured Empire" "a cool head in times of crisis" and "an excellent diplomat."
Dovenhawk was promoted to a full Admiral, in charge of the fleet protecting Calavertis and keeping a careful eye on both the Greali and the Calaverians.
However much the President did not want a Xiscapian base on his doorstep, that was exactly what he got.

And so, it ends. Greal has her peace and the people standing together, rather than apart. The AIW was crushed, and out of it's ashes came the Calaverians, after their previously ill-fated bid for a place in the galaxy on HOME. The Xiscapians got what they wanted, and the entire operation was considered a success by Palace officials.

But who knows what the future may be? So many dark, cold paths...and bright, shining possibilities.

OOC: A war between Greal and Xiscapia is a definite possibility, considering our low opinion of your government. Not to mention the wholesale slaughter of innocent civilians.
BTW Greal, it would just look like auto-pwanage if you destroyed the Imitators and took few casualties, so I had to add that last bit. ;)
From here I will be concentrating on the threads I'm already involved in, so unless one of you makes a new one, you probably won't be seeing be much excepting threads that you are already engaged in where I am present.
