I am not running the Enemy ships, regardless of what they are called. I have asked others to do that. I thought I had made that pretty clear too. So how about we stop this arguing and start the RP? :headbang:

Sorry, I seem to be having a hard time articulating today. I know you don't control the other ships, but I wanted to make sure that when you RP you don't describe a ship to be looking like a ship of the Empire and just make sure you describe the slightly older Republic style vessels (or another vessel of the clone war time frame.

Now, RP a contact with someone to get things started. Right now you're using cloaked ships and running silent in an area of space where few travel. Send your ship out and run into a vessel of someone else's. (Make sure you're not cloaked, or else they won't know you're there and won't be able to make a response.)

I don't have a problem with that, except I will need to research those ships
so I can describe them accurately. Can you give me some links to ships of this era?

Really? how bout in ESB? They're hittin' a lot.

Not really. We do see them storm the base, but we don't actually see them shoot anyone. Most of the shooting is done by the rather poorly designed walking tanks.

Ok I have replaced the other ship with a Victory 1 Class. I know damned well it is clone wars era, so don't even try to say it isn't. Now if you don't mind I need someone to RP the ship, or I will do the entire thread myself ...

There's no need to get pissy. If your going to enter an RP that takes place in a canon defined universe, its your responsibility to know the canon. Why do you think I took so long researching the Chiss before starting to RP them?

Sorry, but I'm not up to date in Clone War tech. I can tell some things don't belong but not enough to give you any definate answer. That's why I chose to RP a ST race, I know what they can do and what there capabilities are. And when I started my thread, I left it open as to exactly what kind of ship it was. Since Species 8472 had no previous contact with any SW races I simply described a large vessel, and when I breached the hull I described humanoids in white armor (intended as clone troopers), and a being with tremendous mental powers that wielded a weapon of energy (intended as Jedi).

The only real name I used was Jedi, and that was toward the end. In retrospect I would have prefered not to give a name so that it could have been RPed as something different if they had wanted.

I think people are hesitant to join an RP where many things have been declared for them.

I haven't declared anything that has to do with SW RPer's. I am running only Section 31. I don't care what ships they use as long as it remains balanced.
That is a rule that most every RPG go's by. So explain to me what
has been declared for everyone else. From my point of view, you guys are the one's demanding that I conduct my thread the way you wish..

What we're trying to say is that by dictating the kind of ship you severely limit who can respond and how. if you specify a republic ship, only one of the two republic players can respond, and they've both got their hands full. If you leave it open ended, anyone can jump in.

And if you'll look at my join date, you can see that I've also been here some time, not that it really matters. New user =/= bad RPer and veteran user =/= good RPer.

I am willing to drop it, and you are welcome in my thread. Finally I will endeavor to get in touch with one or more of your Republic RPer's. Before
your post I was considering concluding the encounter with the Vic being a
derelict. Now I will hold off on that scenario to see if I can successfully talk one of your Republic RPer's to RP it.

I have just TGed 1010102 asking him if he would RP the Vic in my thread.
Now I will wait to see what the decision is.

I just had the evil thought it the hutts and the orion syndicate (and/or the ferangi's) formed an alliance. Imagine if those three groups joined togeter, and solved the monitary differences between cultures, they could become exetreemly rich. I'm reminded at this point, "Ask not what your profits can do for you, but what you can do for your profits."

Respect is earned, not given. Just by being the oldest (NS age and not RL age) currently in this RP arc does not mean the rest of us automatically respect you. You have to proove to us that you deserve it.

And even though it is probly now considered old hat, I have always been told that you should respect your elders. I would appreciate a little respect from you all because I have always given it to others I don't think that is to much to ask.

How old you are in RL is irrelevant. As much respect as I give for those older than me, it is not guaranteed that just because you're older that I will respect you. If you do not display characteristics that I find admirable my respect goes down. Since you came into this thread and instead of asking who to contact about RPing in your thread, you threatened to RP it yourself if we didn't join. That lowered my respect for you, and it can only be earned back through your actions in this and other forums. As I see things that, in my opinion, earn respect you will receive more from me. But this is beside the point. I have no further desire to continue this discussion about respect with you.

TBH, IMHO, it would have just been easier if you had joined an existing thread. Then none of this crap about having a thread (which is rather limiting in ways to get in, I might add) die, all these arguements about which SW era the ship comes from, et cetera.

If I do then you really can't say much because you limit yourselves too. By saying that only certain people can RP certain ships, not allowing for any backups to be put in place so when things like bans happen it doesn't leave the rest of the group holding the bag.

Tell you what I will RP this particular ship as a derelict. And then from then on I will leave the type of ship open to whoever wants to jump in. After all this cruise that the Freedom has embarked on was always meant to meet multiple contacts, hopefully not all at the same time.
