Yeah, but I make sure my ratlings don't eat enough. So when an enemy manages do get within choppy distance, my snipers will have no compunctions about chewing through their kneecaps.

I don't mean to nitpick, but do you remember the Shadow? While Tyranid hive fleets are in orbit around a planet it is cut off from Astropath communications.
I suppose you could get around this by saying that an Inquisitor had already been called for though.

Hmmm...Does anyone know where I could get infomation on Tyranid Hive Fleets makeup? as in how many Hive Ships should be in one, how many feeder ships, how Tyranid ship-to-ship combat works and so on? I usually can find out quite a lot but my understanding is that all Tyranid ships are different biological organisims that share only their purposes.
It is found in numerous sources that the Tyranids are capable of space-combat using ships but anyone here know how?

they have organic ships, which look like giant crustations from the outside.

Which are fired by what is likely to be the most smashable unit in the Chaos Codex. Add that to the fact they have a relatively short range, and need to be summoned - which is often near to close combat, where they do not want to be - and they're not that great. Not to mention the fact that for 23 points a model, there are infinitely better things to be bought. (A Slaanesh Marine + Sonic Blaster is only 24 points.)

The Imperial Guard is filled to capacity. But if you really want it, then New Ireland can have my characters, and I'll go to Chaos because they are somewhat lacking at the moment.

Sergeant Mikil


Sergeant Mikil is a veteran of many battles throughout his career as an Imperial Guardsmen. His homeworld, which was in the Gothic Sector, was ravaged by Chaos while he was young. An Imperial Inquisitor found him and took him away before using an Exterminatus to cleanse the planet. Since, he was taken by the Guard at 17, and was sent initially to stop a rebellion at Lorn V. However, it soon turned out that the rebellion had more sinister forces behind the scenes. He was one of the few of his battalion to escape that place alive, and earned several medals for valour having killed two Traitor Marines with his killed Platoon officer's chainsword. Soon after, he based upon a world which never recieved a name, but was affectionatley called "Armpit" by Guardsmen stationed there, due to the tedious boredom they delt with. However, a Tyranid hive fleet launched an assault upon the world, in which his Regiment, along with the support of the 3rd Company Ultramarines fought off. He recieved a Badge for his numerous combat related wounds recieved there, and was promoted to full Corporal, skipping Lance, to fill the rank structure of the now battered Regiment. He fought from there on a campaign against the Tyranids on numerous worlds, in which he recieved his famous Scar across his face, which paralyzed the muscles in the left cheek. It is not known what happened on planet 340, in which he recieved his famous wound, but he returned changed. He has not spoken of it with anyone except those who were there. He fought again at Scelus against the Alpha Legion who convinced several of the Nomadic clans to declare war upon the Imperium. After defeating the clans, it is said the Legion was able to summon a Demon (Blood Thirster), in which Mikil led the attack which killed it, but this has never been proven, and he has never admitted this (nor denied). Later, he participated in other campaigns against Orks, more Tyranids, Necrons, and a skirmish against the Tau. Eventually he rose to the Rank of Command Sergeant of his Squad, and is being considered for Platoon Sergeant status.

You were nice, and I appreciated the role, I was just asking if I could have a diffrent one or I was locked in as Mikil. I am gratful, but i'm curious as to what else is open.

As for battlefleet gothic, I know of it, but I couldn't name ships off the top of my head. I just know what they look like.

Oh, By the way, knowing my way it was probably a novel, or some sort of history book...

What Krow also failed to mention is that any Guardsman asked to do so by an officer must be able to show a (preferably intact) copy of said Primer at any time, on punishment of death. (This time I'm not mistaking, it actually says so in the Primer itself.)

From what I have gathered a hive fleet starts at about 1.2 billion ships and then divides into smaller units. From what I have gathered a normal splinter fleet is about one thousand ships but that might just be too much...

it's my impression that a spyder can't fix a necron while moving, and fighting... I think it's kind of an either-or kind of situation.

Rules-wise the Spyder's mere presence is enough to help them regenerate when they normally couldn't, but I suppose I could make a simple change to make it a bit more 'interesting'. As you know, Tomb Spyders can do more than just fight and repair...

Well with OA outa the game...It'd simply be silly to continue fighting someone who isn't there, if the Necs want a shot at the Orks, by all means but I think I'll go after more soft and squishy targets...Anyway I'll finish rping my battle with the Orks and then see what happens.
