IC: *Yawn* Dudrich LeVanson puts down his book. As current leader of the Dragonlords, he has to govern the entire area they lay claim to with only the help of his soul-twin and a few advisors.

"Dudrich, what is it?"

"Nothing, my dear. Just wishing that I didn't have so much politics to deal with."

His soul-twin, Cortana LeVanson, begins to massage his shoulders, "You knew that politics came with the job when you accepted it. You govern this mountain and the surrounding forest wisely, I can't think of anyone currently residing in this castle who would do better."

Dudrich reaches up and takes hold of his soul-twin's hand. The two look lovingly into each others eyes.

OOC: Okay people. You can enter into this by having characters enter into the forest surrounding the mountain. I don't really care what your tech level is. This will be a character RP for now. That means, no big armies.

OOC:Yea, more info would be nice... Thus far it seems that there is a dude, and his sister or something and they are in a castle. Pretty difficult to join and post IC based on this only :rolleyes:

Seregon (http://ackegard.com/albums/elves/wild_elf.jpg) was lost. He had taken kinda lot last night, got laid (which was good)
and into a fight (which was good too, he thought) but mysteriously lost it and got thrown out of the tavern. He still got his sword though. With this loyal companion of his, he was sure of his capabilities to survive, even in a place like this. A forest.

The place where plenty of trees grow...

The idea, the thought itself was enough to make him feel uncomfortable. He was a man of the sea, his soul belonged to the Ocean. Right thing for a tree to do was to be a part of a beautiful white ship, not to stand with its comrades around the poor, lost sailor.

However, after checking again that the weapons were where they were supposed to be and that no bone was broken or anything, Seregon rose up and started to look around. His elf ears reached the echoes of something that could be the memories of last night in his head, or something rather big moving incredibly silently somewhere, not even far.

With extreme caution, Seregon The Sailor drew his sword (http://bjorn.foxtail.nu/images/jt_bastardi.jpg) and moved slowly towards the sound.

Nephil wandered into the forest. While he was around seven feet tall, it wasn't that unusual for those of his kind. As his ears, that stuck out from the top of his head, and added another three quaters of a foot to his height, twitched, he cursed as he caught his wing on a thorn branch. He used his flexible, spade tipped tail to extricate the thorn from his wing. Padding forward with his long, clawed feet, he scratched his side with his clawed hands.

He paused and wondered what he should do today. He decided on Yoga, something highly unusual for a demon.

OOC: Looks interesting, I might join with some more info and, more importantly, sleep.

OOC: Sorry for the lack of info. As to the location, I haven't seen any maps. That first post was meant as only a tester (my first intro thread). I'll see if I can work out a map of my forest, the mountains, lakes, rivers, and the few cities (4 major (north, south, east, and west) and 4 minor (north-west, north-east, south-west, and south-east)) in it. As for the soul-twin thing, Dragonlords always come in pair, one male and one female. The best way I can put it is that they each contain half of a primary soul, though each has two other souls, their human ones and their dragon ones.

IC: Edge Of Western City

A small, elderly women was weeding her garden next to her home located at the edge of the clearing that contained the Western City of Gondolin. She heard a rustling in the forest. She looked up, but didn't looked that alarmed. She knew the Dragonlords took walks in the forest on occasion.

Deep Eastern Forest

Derjanil was walking alongside Sernja, his soul-twin. Suddenly, their hear a noise coming from nearby in the forest. The slowly creep foward and look around a tree. They see the Theao Theao doing his yoga. Sernja, the braver of the two, stalks foward.

She walks right in front of him and boldly asks, "Who are you? What are you doing in the Imperial forest?"

Western Forest

Haturon was walking through the forest in his Draconian form to get some peace and quiet from life in the castle. His soul-twin, Levrinsia, was busy helping prepare the evening meal. Haturon walked through the western part of the forest. Suddenly, he hears the scratch of steel. Recognizing it as the drawing of a sword and not wanting to alarm any newcomers to the forest, he decides to transform to his human form.

He concentrates. His body becomes a cloud of red mist that reshapes itself into a humanoid form. It solidifies into that of a man with shoulder length red hair. He looks around with his sky-blue eyes and starts to walk towards the source of the sound. He comes around a tree and comes face-to-face with the Madnestan sailor.

OOC: I didn't thought this was in-nation RP, that sailor character has nothing to do with my nation really. There are no elves in Madnestan.


IC:

Seregon was famous amongst his comrades about couple of skills he held. One of them was the ability move without any sound whatsoever - now, you might think that it aint such a big deal when it is elf we're talking about, but that is not the case - and to jump, run, and even fight in almost perfect silence.

The second ability that he was aknowledged for, was his capability to intuitively sense threat, in whatever form was it posessed. This had helped him greatly in his career as a Free Sword, part-time pirate and a thief.

Third ability was to drink just unimaginable amounts of alcohol. This hadn't help his career in any form, so let's not discuss about that matter.

He was also a more-than-a-decent swordman.


Because of his sophisticated ears and instincts, he wasn't caught in surprise even now, when this weird looking fellow jumped in front of him.
He was, however, pretty surprised due the fact that the man had heard him while he was moving quite damn silenty! "Must be the sword..." he thought himself. That was like the only real sound he had made after starting to move from his waking position.

"Good day", he stated, looking straight in the eyes of the man in front of him.

"I'm sorry, but it seems I'm a bit lost here. Do you mind if I ask, where the hell are we?"

OOC: Madnestan, when you mentioned forest, I just assumed you ment the one surrounding my mountain castle. Sorry if I was wrong about that. But, it does make for an interesting first contact, no?

IC: Haturon blinked and put his hands up to show he wasn't going to pull out any weapons.

"Okay," he said, "I don't mean you any harm. My name is Haturon. As to where you are, once you stepped foot inside this forest you were on soil belonging to the Empire of Dragon Emperor. At the center of this forest is a sole mountain. At the top of that mountain is the capital. Though the Western City is closer."

OOC: No, you were absolutely right about that. The dude is in the forest. However, he is not "Madnestan sailor". He is a weird elf-character from Ihavenoclueland or something :p But yea, he is there.

IC:

"Ummm... As far as I can remember, my ship arrived in some nameless port after horrible strom, but we didn't bother to see what was the name of that crappy town before starting to look for a decent tavern.." he responded, with a grim smile, putting he sword back to the sheath and the revolver to his belt.

"I woke up in here just minutes ago. My name is Seregon btw, captain of the merchant ship Fadrafalcon." He gave his hand for a shake.

"My crew will certainly find something to do while I'm here, so no rush about that... Also, I need some breakfast. Perhaps I should visit that capital then... How far is it?"

OOC: I just need clearance on this one... I'm thinking of joining in as a pretty unusual race, a Dauthi. They are humans who have been cursed, making them living shadows who can become solid at will. This of course makes 'em real hard to battle, and it might be considered godmod, so I wanted to check first.

OOC: You mean, there is nothing one can do to your character with a decent magnum.357 and a well made sword? If so, my vote must be "No" for such character.

OOC: Yeah, that's what I thought as well. They can be killed of course, but only when in solid form or by magic. The Dauthi were always my favourite creature-type in MtG, that's why I'm asking, otherwise I'll just be a vampire or something.

Deep Eastern Forest

She walks right in front of him and boldly asks, "Who are you? What are you doing in the Imperial forest?"
"I'm Nephil." He replied as stood. "As to what I'm doing here, I'm doing Yoga, want to join me? Oh, and what are your names?" He then stretched in a manner humans would find flat out impossible.

OOC: I'll just be a shapeshifter, that's always fun.

IC:
Volrath suddenly woke up. There were leaves in his face, and it confused him: Wasn't he at home? He looked around, and saw only more trees and quite a large drop. No, he wasn't home. But where was he? He was dressed in the robes he usually wore, at keast he thought he usually wore them. His, or at least probably his, sword was sheated on his hip. The hip was his, that he knew for certain.

But the problems remains: Where is he? Why is he here? What is that awful taste in his mouth? He decides to at least start off with going down to the ground. He grabs hold of the branch he's lying on, then elongates his arms and legs so he can climb down safely. After reaching the ground, he returns the arms and legs to their natural size and starts to try and get a feeling of where he is.

A blinding flash of light appeared and then was gone. Laying on the ground was a mage of no more than 5 (mage) years old. He stood up to his full height of three feet and three inches and proceeded to straighten his clothes.

As he took a step forward he tripped over his staff and fell into a creek, soaking his clothes. "Awww, not again," he said to himself as he picked himself out of the water. He raised in his hands in front of them and a red glow appeared as his clothes dried. Again he brushed off his clothes, picked up his staff, and began walking.

OOC: What's the differense between races of mage and wizard?

ooc: well for my rping of them here are the differences I am using:
a) they are simply different races
b) mages can wield magic with their hands, while wizards must use an object (wand, staff, etc...)
c) often different type of magic, while wizards could conjure up a table, mages' magic is often things like a fireball or bolt of lightning.

note this is just how I am using them in this RP, in reality (well technically in fiction) they are both characters than can wield magic.

My character has the appearance of a mage (as I am using the term) but has the blood of a mage, wizard, and elf.

OOC: Ok, that makes sense. Everybody seems so poverfull here... lets hope my dude doesn't get overrun :rolleyes:

Oh, just a little tidbit, the cities contain people of elven, human, and dwarven descent. The central mountain is where you are most likely to find the Dragonlords.
Oh, as to the Dragonlord's main power (the red mist thing), they only have two forms, Draconic and elven/human/dwarven (depends on birth species). Its complicated. They each have their own special talent; like any other race, each is unique.

She blinked, "My name is Sernja. The guy over there is my soul-twin, Derjanil," she kneels down and smoothes out her dress, "Actually, we're not far from the Eastern City of Mu. Perhaps you would like to get a room at one of the inns there."

Inner Fringes Of Northern Forest

Hearing the splash, one of the sentials from the Northern City of Nova walks into the forest to investigate. His sharp elven hearing attempting to pinpoint the source of the sound. He creeps foward while keeping his hand on the hilt of his sword. Soon he sees a red glow through the trees and walks toward that. He walks around a tree and comes in full view of the young mage.

Inner Fringe of Central Forest

Nojirnus was out for a stroll while his soul-twin, Derinla, slept in. He walks through the trees that surround the central mountain. As he walks, he notes a figure descending a tree. He heads for the spot that contains the tree. He arrives just as the shape-shifter reaches the bottom. He steps out boldly into full view and calls out, "Who are you?"

Noticing a figure approach from behind a tree, the mage stopped and looked at him for a moment. "Hello, mister. Who are you?" said the mage as he continued forward towards the sential. "Are you from around here, I am kind of lost?"

The waking sun of the early dawn began to show through the thick canopy of the western forest sky. Grass, bathed in the soft glow, shone like strands of emeralds as dew slid off their sparkling stems. A whispering breeze caressed the morning air as it passed through the trees, rustling the leaves from their slumber to face a new day. A snowy white rabbit slowly stretched out of his burrow and blinked its dreams away.

Crimson dyed the ground as the unknowing rodent met his end as metal speared through its hide, pushing its life under the earth to be reborn as a flower. A figure stood over the newly slain creature, draped in long, flowing robes of an earthen tone. Like a waterfall, the cloth rippled and moved on the figure's body. With a rough and traveled hand, the hood was removed. Revealed from this was a head of silvered, thinning hair and a dark lined masculine face.

Thandon the druid whispered a prayer under his breath as he thanked the animal he had just killed. Everything in nature served a purpose and he respected all life, this rabbit would keep him fed for most of the day. He began to clear a place to build a fire, gathering rocks and piling on sticks. With a brief incantation, a fire was set a blaze. As it sparked and crackled, he placed the skewered rabbit over it to cook.

"That sounds good", Seregon (http://ackegard.com/albums/elves/wild_elf.jpg) replied. "By the way, now when we're at it, could you tell me more about this place? What sort of a country is this, and how far from the Ocean? I should have a ship somewhere pretty near... Or atleast I hope so! Knowing my crew, well, ...."

Though you have wandered pretty far in. Though, the island itself is totally surrounded by water, you would eventually reach ocean no matter which way you went."

"Really? Good, because I am hungry - I wonder if they will accept these coins," said the mage as he jingled a couple of poches on his waistband. "That sure is some shiny armor," he said as he walked by the elf and it glistened in the light.

He had taken about five steps past the elf when he turned around and spoke, "By the way, my name is Loki."

Sernja shook her head as she stood up, brushing the leaves from her dress, "Technically, we both have two full souls of our own. Its the half of the third soul that makes us Soul-Twins."

IC: Pae woke up in a cold sweat... the same damn dream... the heat... suffercating heat... she couldn't move... flames were closing in around her... the lashing pain in her throat...
damn, it's been months and I still get those dreams... Pae's hand moves involuntarily to her throat as she feels the scar tissue. Tears slowly drift down her cheeks as she remembers the praise she once got for her voice... now forever silenced. Looking around at the woods that she found herself in. she slowly gathered her things and continued to walk northward... surely there must be some habitation there.

Sernja says as she starts to follow, "So, Nephil, was it, I'm sure you will find this city to be highly entertaining. There are many cities on the island, but the eight surrounding the mountain inside this forest were arranged in the pattern they are in by our ancestors millenia ago," she pauses, "sorry about that, I am what you might call a historical book worm. I do tend to ramble on about history at times," she stops talking to listen to his question, "Five souls? Well, yes, in each pair. Though, their are a few residing in the mountain who have not found their soul-twin yet."

Deep Western Forest

Haturon smiles, "Well, Waterfall City is on a river. Just wait till you see the view."

He parts some branches revealing a grand view of the waterfalls that give the city its name.

Serinus says, after scratching the tip of his left ear, "The armor just comes with the job. As a sentry, my job is to keep a look out for any arrivals near the city. Loki is it, interesting name. As for your coins, I'm sure their be worth their value in whatever they are made of. The system on this island pretty much centers around the concept of equivilant exchange. Trading is very prevelant."

Sad because she hadn't found her soul-twin yet in the couple centuries she had been a Dragonlord, Kirjania took a walk in the forest surrounding the Southern City to clear her head. Hearing footsteps nearby, she followed the sound and almost walked smack into the woman making them.

OOC: @Draconic Order: Where is your Druid located? Is it anywhere on the island?
@JuNii: To get a clearer concept of the whole Soul-Twin thing, I suggest you read "The Last Dragonlord". Main basis for my nation.
@Madnestan: Technically, its not the biological twin thing. Soul-Twin is a term used in "The Last Dragonlord" to refer to a Dragonlord's other half. Thus, they come in pairs, one male and one female. Think of it as kind of like soul-mates since birth, even though they might have no knowledge of the other until they meet. The birth soul is predominate until they meet, at that point the unawakend Dragonlord's Dragon soul will awaken as will the half of the third sould they contain. The whole Dragon soul and birth soul is what makes them able to do the red mist trick and change between the two forms. In Dragon form, the Dragon soul is dominate. In birth form, the birth soul is dominate. Though both can communicate in either form. Both the Dragon soul and birth soul also usually have their own name as well.

"Ah, ok. Well then I will be off to the city. Which direction was it again - unless you are coming? I have a terrible sense of direction." said Loki inquisitively and looking around for a path to the city.

As Pae walked on.. a loud... Rumbling? no Growling can be heard behind her. Turning, she saw a large shaggy creature rise up... stepping back, Pae reached for her weapon. Damn, Forgot! instead, her hand drifted to her dagger and after a breif consideration, turned and ran into the woods while the bear chased after her.

@The Transylvania: I'll edit the title of the first post to take care of that. I'm thinking of making the island my nation is on timeless so any tech would apply. Might even add some FT to the mix later on.

IC: A black Mi-35 Hind E assault transport helicopter, with the symbol (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y101/CountJWolf/BWSymbol.jpg) of the Black Wolves on each side, lands in an open patch near the east edge of the forest of this strange island. It is strange for two reason, it was on any maps that the Dominion had and the God-Emperor Count JWolf has never been to the island. In this helicopter were eight people all that worked for the Count; two Damphir vampires, a blind tall man with staff, two snipers from the Black Wolves, and three more Black Wolf soldiers.

As the men exited the helicopter, the Damphir vampires were the first to hit the ground. Havoc (http://img437.imageshack.us/img437/9207/havoc4dr.jpg) and his twin brother, Chaos looked around before helping the blind tall man out of the copter. Chaos was wearing the same outfit as his brother but they were not the same. The colors were change around on Chaos, red is now white and white is now red on his outfit. Both of them had their whips and two Colt King Cobra revolvers in shoulder holsters. Both Havoc and Chaos are 525 year old and were born in Southern Germany in 1480. They headed into the forest.

The tall blind man was wearing long black robe with a hood, which was not on his head. The six foot tall wooden staff in his right hand, he followed behind Havoc and Chaos.

The snipers exited after the blind man. Each one was in Transylvanian body armor (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y101/CountJWolf/TransylvanianBA.jpg) in dark gray and black. But one was armed with a SR-48A1 tactical rifle and dual Colt M1911A1 pistols. The other sniper was armed with a M82A3 sniper rifle and a Beretta M92 pistols. The snipers, one female and one male, moved into the forest.

The last to exit was the other three Black Wolf soldiers. Wearing the same type of body armor as the snipers, they moved to the sides of Havoc and chaos. They were armed with an AR-56 assault rifle, a Colt Python Elite revolver and a Magnum Research Desert Eagle pistol. Each one had a huge back pack on their backs, fill with extra ammos and MREs for the soldiers and the blind man.

The copter head back to the transport ship as the unit entered the forest.

The waking sun of the early dawn began to show through the thick canopy of the western forest sky. Grass, bathed in the soft glow, shone like strands of emeralds as dew slid off their sparkling stems. A whispering breeze caressed the morning air as it passed through the trees, rustling the leaves from their slumber to face a new day. A snowy white rabbit slowly stretched out of his burrow and blinked its dreams away.

Crimson dyed the ground as the unknowing rodent met his end as metal speared through its hide, pushing its life under the earth to be reborn as a flower. A figure stood over the newly slain creature, draped in long, flowing robes of an earthen tone. Like a waterfall, the cloth rippled and moved on the figure's body. With a rough and traveled hand, the hood was removed. Revealed from this was a head of silvered, thinning hair and a dark lined masculine face.

Thandon the druid whispered a prayer under his breath as he thanked the animal he had just killed. Everything in nature served a purpose and he respected all life, this rabbit would keep him fed for most of the day. He began to clear a place to build a fire, gathering rocks and piling on sticks. With a brief incantation, a fire was set a blaze. As it sparked and crackled, he placed the skewered rabbit over it to cook.

OOC: Okay, island has been placed on the globe of the Earth, this forest is located on an island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Maps are on the last page, one for the island and one for the forest area. As I am combining a few things from other books with my main stuff from "The Last Dragonlord" don't be surprised if I have a interesting things "walking" about (think "Dinotopia" style).

The unit moved into the forest, Havoc and Chaos watching for any type of movement. They walked for half a day when Havoc just stopped. “Something is up there.” He said. “Faith, scout ahead and see what is up there.”

This Faith he was taking about was one of the snipers, Faith Lakes was armed with the SR-48A1 tactical rifle. She was a First Lieutenant of the Black Wolves’ Sniper Division. She was 26 years old with blonde hair and blue eyes. But you could not see any of that because of the full body armor see was wearing.

Faith head forwards into the forest, moving a quiet as she could. And that is damn quiet, a little noise here and there. After a couple of hours, she reported back saying a small town was about a 1000 yards in front of them. So, Havoc told her to stay where she was and ordered the other to follow him.

After making it to Faith’s location, Havoc told the others to walk into the town with their guns on their back. But have them ready, if they are need. The eight man unit moved forwards, into the town.

Pae kept running. The large ursine giving chase, obviously intent on dealing some greivious bodily harm upon this intruder. This is getting me no where fast. looking around, Pae quickly scrambles up a tree and stares at the bear down below... behind the bear, Pae noticed a strange woman appear out of the brush.

Perhaps you would like some Arctium Tea? Its made from the Arctium longevus plant, that only grows on this island, and has some interesting effects on people.

"Oh, I bet you want to know the name of this island. Its called Dinotopia. The original inhabitants," he gestures at the sauropods lumbering towards the barn to sleep, "named it before the first dolphin-backs arrived."

Nojirnus shook his head, "Not at all. Most of the population on this island are the descendents of people who were shipwrecked before we were able to open holes in the reef surrounding the island. With the opening of those holes," Nojirnus continues as he leans against a tree, "the island now has access to the outside world. Just consider yourself lucky that you didn't find yourself in the Rainy Basin. The inhabitants of that jungle like their privacy."

Not knowing if it was the kind of bear that could climb trees, she grabbed a large branch lying on the ground nearby and ran at the bear swinging it and yelling at the top of her lungs. "Oh, I get it." Loki said as he started to eat. "So... um... are there any other people like me around here? Oh, and are there any stores I could buy some stuff at? Where is this place?" His questions were cut off by forking more food into his mouth, "Hmmm, this is good."

Due to his stature, only Loki's eyes and hat could be seen over the edge of table, and his hand kept dissappearing over the side to deliver food into his mouth.

The sun had risen to its place among the heavens as the druid finished his meal and began to remove his presence from the area. He spread the ashes along the emerald shine grass as he went through the ritual before traveling after a meal. He had saved a quarter of the rabbit meat, wrapping it within a small sachel made from its furry hide. In a few more minutes he would be off again.

First Lieutenant Lakes placed her rifle on back of the seat next to Havoc. She took the helmet part of her body armor off and made sure her hair was nice. Her face made it look like she was model not a trained killer. She sat down in the seat and made sure she could get to her rifle, if need.

Sergeant Major Beno Keat, the other sniper, placed his rifle on back of the seat next to Chaos. He took his helmet off, to show off his short smoke gray hair and blue eyes. He is 28 years old. He sat down and did the same thing as Faith.

The other three soldiers took off their helmet and placed their rifle on the back of the chair. One was a Sergeant, one was a Sergeant First Class, and the last one was a Command Sgt. Major. The short brown hair soldier was Louis Arnauld and the Command Sgt. Major; he is 35 years old with brown/gray full beard and has a scar under his left eye. His eye color is green.

The long red hair soldier was Launcelot le Boursier and the Sergeant First Class, he has red goatee and is 29 years old. His eye color is hazel.

And the Sergeant is the short blonde hair soldier. His name is Ben Mare. His eye color is blue and his age is 25 years old. Everybody but Havoc and Chaos started drinking the Arctium Tea.

Serinus got up and went over to a near-by book case where he pulled down a book. He came back to the table and set it down open to a specific page. It was an atlas and it was open to a map of the forest.

Serinus pointed to the dot that marked Nova's location, "We are here," he moved his finger the inch towards the middle of the forest, "Juno is here. About a one day journey. Several times that to get to Sauropolis. If you want, I'll be glad to be your guide."

Lilana says as she sets down bowls filled with a mash with a fine, white powder on top, "Have some desert. Its sweetened oatmeal."

"That is very kind of you, I will take you on your offer and spend the night here. Though I am much to stuffed to eat anymore, thank you." Loki said politely as he rubbed his stomach.

Serinus says, "The guest room should be ready for any time use. Its right this way, Loki," Serinus gestures toward the door to the living room, "Just on the other side of the living room are the bedrooms."

Little Petal chimes up, "You no want sweet? Can I have?"

"Go ahead," Loki said to Petal, "Err... that is if it is okay with your parents." He then looked to Serinus and followed him into the guest room where he would spend the night.

Petal looks at her mother for permission. Lilana nods. Petal climbs up on Loki's recently vacated seat and starts digging in. Her sister had already fallen asleep in her chair. Lilana picks Lilith and carries her to the room she shared with her sister.

Seeing that the Druid was finished, Elvindar stood up and walked out of the forest. "Hello over there," he called out to the Druid.

With a grace that seemed unnatural to one who seemed so old, the druid picked up a six-foot staff of wood, spinning around to face Elvindar, all in one fluid motion. His hood fell down again as the wind pushed it off his head. His eyes were a neutral color, like the dirt, brown and gray. The odd thing was that his sclera was not white, like most beings, but the same color as the iris. In fact, it was hard to see a pupil. One would think that he might be blind.

"Who goes there?" the druid asked in the direction of Elvindar.

Giving a rather odd look, Seregon stopped. Few seconds passed, until he cautiously nodded. "You mean, we are to cross the air to get there? I don't like the idea, but you look like a trustworthy man... Show me the way."

Haturon says as he begins the climb up a ladder hanging from the aforementioned cliff, "Actually, the device is quite safe. They've been used for centuries." As they reach the top, the device Haturon spoke of comes into view. The vehicle's bamboo frame and canvas wings was shaped like one of the island's Skybax. "Its very sturdy," Haturon calls over the roar of the near-by waterfalls, "Done it dozens of times myself. Just be glad you're not the guy who has to launch it," he continues as he climbs into one of the seats built into the vehicle's back.

Derjanil calls back to the two, "Here's an open resturant. Come on, slowpokes."

The other two hurry over two where Derjanil is calling from and stop when the cafe comes into view.

Outer Fringe Of Western Forest

Elvindar calls out, "My name is Elvindar," he holds his hands up to show he isn't going for a weapon as he takes a few stops toward the Druid, "just waited till you were down earlier as I didn't want to interrupt anything important."

"A decen ship outclasses this with ease..." he mumbled while climbing up and taking a seat next to his guide.

OOC: I forgot to mention that the seats are arranged single-file along the craft's spine, for balance.

IC: Haturon laughs hartily, "A ship you say. That is possible, but I doubt a 'ship' could give you the thrill this thing does," he signals to the man operating the craft, "Hang on."

The man on the cround takes hold of a bar mounted on the bottom of the craft and runs towards the edge of the cliff where he jumps off. They plummet a few feet before the wings catch enough air to give them lift. The pilot banks the craft and it spirals back up to hieghts above their launch point. He then leans to turn it towards the city.

"Wahooo," shouts Haturon as the wind whips his hair about his face.

Arriving at the base of the mountain, Pae began searching for this door to the city at the top.

looking up towards the peak, Pae shudder to think they'd have to climb all the way up.

Kirjania walks to the foot of the mountain and feels around with her free hand. "Ahh," she says, "here it is." She curls her hand and pulls on the rock she had a hold of. It swung open on recently oiled hinges. Inside was a lever. Kirjania pulled the lever and a large boulder, too large for her to move alone, slid silently open.

"After you," Kirjania says.

When she sees Pae's puzzled expression, Kirjania says, "Its to keep wild animals from wandering in."

Just as he finished speaking, they touched down on the platform in Waterfall City. Inside, the roar of the falls outside were muted enough that everyone didn't have to yell, but the air was very damp. The craft's pilot secured the vehicle in a near-by hanger and went on his lunch break.

Haturon said, "So, where do you want to go first. The dormitory, the Water Slide, the Central Library, the Dolphin Caverns, or the Aqua Stadium?"

"Food."

"As to the island's government structure, there is a council comprised of the leaders from the major players from the various cities on the island. The Island Council runs the day to day affairs of the island itself. Above the Island Council are the Dragonlords. The top brackets of the Dragonlords form the Dragonlord Council, they manage the international stuff."

Kirjania says, "My place is actually built into the caverns dug into the upper regions of the mountain with the other Dragonlords. As for what to do for fun here, there is plenty. For example, we can explore the city, I never did get around to doing that, or we can visit the various stalls around the city."

She adds it to the list. "I'll be back with your drinks shortly, you can decide what you want to eat while you wait."

She walks into the building to get their drinks.

Nephil examined the menus, before finding a veggie dish he'd like. "So what are you two having?"

Derjanil, not even picking up the menu, "What I always order whever I go, a caeser salad with italian dressing."

Sernja responds, after glancing through the menu, "Well, the sweetest non-desert item on the menu is what I'll be having, the Snow-Crab legs. You?"

Before Nephil has a chance to respond, Rosi comes back with their drinks. She puts each one down in front of who had ordered it.

She takes her pad out again, "Okay, have you decided what you wanted to eat yet?"

Both Derjanil and Sernja nod and place their orders.

"'k," Rosi says before turning to Nephil, "and you?"

Although Loki was a deep sleeper, he slept particulary soundly that night as he was worn out from a long day. In the morning the slight seaped through the shutters and eventually worked its way up to his eyes.

Loki awoke and stretched his arms with a big yawn. He then hopped down from the bed, creating a thud as he hit the ground, and gathered up his staff before heading out into the main part of the house. He walked down a set of stairs and into the kitchen to see if anyone else was awake. He climbed up onto his seat from the previous night's dinner and waited for signs of anyone else that was awake.

"Morning," Serinus says from an armchair in the living room where he was reading a book with the family cat in his lap, "Slept well?"

The druid smirked before dusting himself with his free hand, the cloud of dirt melting into the short grass. He brushed his hand on his cloak before tasting the air with a finger. A morning breeze wafted through the clearing and ruffled his clothing. A moment later he was moving where the wind was going, his cowl covering the top of his head again.

"See you around."

The wind carried his final words before a small tornado whirled up around him, and he was gone.

Of course the druid underestimated how sharp the ranger was. The ranger could sense that the druid didn't disappear, but actually used the wind as a distraction and to increase his already incredible speed. The druid was already several dozen strides away and quickly vanishing into the woods.

Sernja shakes her head, "No. The original Dragonlords where chosen by the ancient Saurians as the best possible choice for top level government, and I think the original council that was set-up all those centuries ago is still in place, though some of the members got bored with it and retired allowing some of the younger Dragonlords to replace them. Though, only one out of every thousand attempts do Dragonlords breed true. So, most Dragonlords must go out and find their soul-twin and carefully awaken the Draconic soul inside him or her."

Lilith goes over to the chair where her father is sitting and picks up Fluff just below his armpits.

"Meow," says Fluff as she picks him up.

Serinus replies, as he stands up and brushes the cat hair from his lap, "I got what I could ready before bed last night. Lilana just has to finish with the food we will bring along."

Almost as if he had summoned her by saying her name, Lilana walks into the room rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

Nilrem is now bouncing up and downw on the table and making little noises of glee, as Loki listens to Serinus.

"Okay," Loki said to Serinus as Lilana entered. "Good morning miss," Loki greeted Lilana.

Loki turns back towards Nilrem and sees him playing with Petal. He pulls a small nut out of a pouch tied to his belt and hands it to the Eborall. "Yeh... Nilrem has been with me ever since I was born... we are best buds," Loki comments.

Nilrem ate the nut, although he left some crumbs behind, and continued his energetic manner of jumping into the air.

Serinus says, "Eborall, that's a new species to me. Never even heard of them before."

Lilith walks over to stand next to her sister.

"Meow," says Fluff at the indignity of his position.

"Huh? Really? Well I guess they are pretty rare where I am from... and I haven't found them anywhere else- I will ask Grandpa about them when I get back home. From what I know, they have lots of energy and are good traveling companions.. isn't that right Nilrem," Loki said as the Eborall started jumped into his outstretched hand.

"Hmm... well I wouldn't trade Nilrem here for anything," Loki said as he placed the Eborall onto his head again and put his hat on. "I am going to stand outside and get some fresh air. When you are ready, I will be waiting out front."

Loki had jumped off his stool and walked about 10 paces to the door when he stopped. He walked over to Lilana and pulled out a small box, "Here I want you to have this. For everything you have done for me, its not much but here you go," Loki said as he handed Lilana the small box and scampered out the door - tripping as usuall on the doorstep. "Thanks," Lilana calls after him. She hands Serinus the package containing the food for their lunch. He adds it to the stuff he has and starts off after Loki.

Petal giggles at Loki's clumsiness.

"Well, Loki, its time to be off," Serinus says as he steps outside and shuts the door. He looks about, spots the mountain, starts walking towards it, and says, "This way to Juno."

"Okay," responds Loki as he adjusts his hat and begins walking with Serinus on the path to Juno.

"The local specialty," Haturon replies from the lower level, "is fish. Of course, fresh fish is pretty common around here.

"As to the island's government structure, there is a council comprised of the leaders from the major players from the various cities on the island. The Island Council runs the day to day affairs of the island itself. Above the Island Council are the Dragonlords. The top brackets of the Dragonlords form the Dragonlord Council, they manage the international stuff."

"Ok... And the people is happy with this state of affairs? Guess it is ok if they are." With a grin, he added "I preferr anarchism, though." After getting answer, he continued by moving to more personal affairs.

"Who exactly are you, then? What do you do for living?"

Nojirnus responded, "You are on the island of Dinotopia. On top of that mountain behind me," he points, "is the capital city. I take it you either are a new Dolphin-back or visitor from one of the ports."
"Possibly. Anyway, could you help me to get to a town or something? I haven't eaten for quite some time."

Kirjania says, "My place is actually built into the caverns dug into the upper regions of the mountain with the other Dragonlords. As for what to do for fun here, there is plenty. For example, we can explore the city, I never did get around to doing that, or we can visit the various stalls around the city."
money... money... money... Ahh...As Pae and Kirjania walk through the crowd, her nimble fingers lift a small pouch from a passing traveller's belt, and it quickly and quietly dissappears into her cloak.

I really should buy my own cloak... or at least a new one for Kirjania.:(

Kirjania says, "The Dragonlords are the upper brackets of the island's government. This is their capital. The Island Council, which is one bracket below the Dragonlord Council, uses a different city as their capital, though they usually meet in Waterfall City.

"Oh, and don't worry about money. On this island, only the visitors from other nations bring money. The island's merchants work on the principle of equivilant exchange."

Nova

Following a clearly marked trail, the two travellers enter the forest around the city of Nova. They encounter other groups along the path, but not one of them are composed of islander's that speak a language either Loki or Serinus understands.

Haturon smiles, "Money is a concept used by the outside world. On this island, people use exquivilant exchange to do trades. For example, if someone helps you build a building, you can help them build a building.

Derjanil responds, "Until very recently, magic users were not in enough numbers to be powerful enough. Only a few weeks ago were their enough magic users on the island to make the openings in the reef that allowed the island access to the outside world."

"Ah." Nephil replied, "So do you have any other questions for me?"

During the journey, Loki pulls out a book and waves his hand at it. The book then opens do a page near the middle and hovers in front of him. He begins flipping the pages with his hands as he reads, and wonders how long the journey to Juno will be.

Serinus says, to Loki, "Rix is one of the better known translators on the island," he turns back to Rix and says, "The family is doing fine, as am I. You?"

"Great, mind if I walk with you?"

"Not at all," says Serinus, "We were just about to stop for lunch on our trip to Juno."

William said, "Just wanted to make sure you were settled before I sat down."

William walked over to his normal seat and started digging in.

Meanwhile there was a flash of light, and smoke exiting from the girl's bathroom.

Loki saw something stop in front of them and when Serinus introduced him as a translator, Loki remembered back to what he said about Protoceratops being translators.

"Ah, hello mister," Loki said to the protoceratops. He then turned to Serinus and said, "Don't mind me, I will just keep reading," and then he buried his face back into the hovering book. Small orbs of color were appearing in between Loki's hands, and giving off different effects, as he read the book.

Rix says, "Nice to meet you."

The trio reaches a clearing at the half-way point on the journy between Nova and Juno.

Serinus stops and says, "We'll have lunch here."

He pulls out the pack his wife gave him right as he was leaving and opened it. He pulled out a large cloth and layed it out on the ground.

After finishing the lunch and leaving the small, surprisingly good restaurant comrades were out in the streets again. "We'll, what's next? This city is looking better and better in my eyes" Seregon said smiling, giving a look over the street and laughing, yelling, selling, stealing crowd that populated it.

Rix says, "Nice to meet you."

The trio reaches a clearing at the half-way point on the journy between Nova and Juno.

After William left, the group from the Dominion ate in peace. Talking, eating, and drinking was what they were doing. About fifteen minutes later, the group was finished and waited to be shown where to wash their dishes.

After everyone had finished eating, the wash tubs were brought out. People started lining up at them with their dishes. Their was enough of the locally made soap to last for a few monthes. After they had washed their dishes, the youner folk wondered off to bed. Though, the older folk sat around and talked after they had cleaned their dishes. They talked of the latest news that was circulating around the island via messanger bird.

Rix lays down on the grass next to the cloth. "Well," he says as he nibbles on some grass he pulled up with his beak, "We'll see what was packed soon enough."

Serinus pulls out several sandwiches, "Well, Loki, you want peanut-butter and jelly or tuna fish? There are tons of both kinds of sandwiches, seems she packed enough for a month."

Derjanil says as he stands up, "Well, we should get to Juno so you can meet the Dragonlord in charge of greeting people to the island."

Sernja says, "And the fastest way there is to fly."

He opened one of the pouches on his belt, removed a nut, and slipped it under his hat, before turning back towards the protoceratops.

Fair Haven

After washing their plates and bowls, half of the group moved to the elder members of Fair Haven. Havoc and chaos disappeared in the forest. Sergeant Major Keat and Sergeant Mare head to guesthouse to get some sleep.

The only people left in the group neat the elders were Command Sgt. Major Arnauld, Tom, First Lieutenant Lakes, and Sergeant First Class Boursier.

William, to his brother, "I've heard they are planning on sending someone in one of those diving craft to the bottom of the lagoon to retrive some of the items from the ships that sunk in there."

"Really?"

"That's what I hear."

Sernja hands Loki the sandwich and pulls out another one for himself. Rix swallowed his latest mouthful of grass before saying, "I work where ever I am needed on the island. On this island, each species has its own native language, and it is easier to higher a translator than to learn each others languages. Besides," he nips off a blade of grass, "not every species has the required vocal equipment to make the correct sounds to communicate with every other species. The Tyranosaurus Rex language, for example, is made entirely of growls. The human throat would go raw trying to imitate that."

Sernja laughed, "Don't worry. He's not going to eat you. Knowing Derjanil, he would rather be streatched out fast asleep in the sun."

OOC: Like any species, the size of a Dragonlord's Draconic form is dependent on age. Derjanil's Draconic form, for example, is about the size of a small two story house. Sernja's Draconic form, as she is younger by about half of her soul-twin's age, is about the size of a small one story house.

Sernja hands him one of the bottles of juice his wife had packed. "Drink it slowly," he says, "don't want you to choke."

Rix says, in response to Loki's question, "Many spoken languages, yes. Mainly because of the equipment Nature has given to each species. To be a Translator one must have a knowledge of diplomacy. Though, the written language in the more frequented areas of the island has been standardized. The less frequented wilds of the Rainy Basin, where the carnivores roam, is based on more on a tribal system amoung the carinvores."

Sernja wraps her tail around Nephil and moves him close to Derjanil. She then moves her Draconic form between them and the newcomer.

Loki began drinking the juice Serinus had handed him in order to clean out the peanut butter. He was listening to Rix's explanation of the island's languages, "Oh. Whats the Rainy Bas-" Loki began to ask a question but the mix of juice and peanut butter while talking was too much. He began choking on it.

Loki stood up and began coughing while grabbing at his throat. When he couldn't get his throat clear, he began running around frantically until he ran straight into a nearby tree and was knocked out.

Sernja wraps her tail around Nephil and moves him close to Derjanil. She then moves her Draconic form between them and the newcomer.
"Get your filthy tail off him lizard." The female demon yelled.

Nephil, in a somewhat quaking voice said, "I'd do it."

Derjanil shifts back to his human form. "Not smart," he says, "shouldn't have called her a 'lizard'," he pulls up his sleeves, "I hope she doesn't make as much a mess this time."

Sernja's eyes glazed with anger as she glared at the female demon. She flared her wings and prepared to fire a blast of ice.

Inner Western Forest

Serinus rushed over to check on Loki. Rix galloped after him. Rix reached Loki first, closely followed by Serinus. Serinus put two fingers on the side of Loki's neck.

Serinus looked at Rix and said, "Phew, he's still alive."

Sclantopia

After about 20 minutes Loki stirred and began groaning, "Uhhhhh." He stared up at the blue sky for a couple minutes before standing up slowly and reorienting himself. Soon after he realized the pain in his head caused by running into the tree. He raised his hand to his head and it instantly became cold to prevent swelling. "Owie," Loki said as he finally noticed Serinus and Rix standing there.

Nephil seeing the fact that they were on a course to MAD, interposed himself between the two very irate females. Of course, what he was doing was insane, but he had to try. "BOTH OF YOU CALM DOWN." He yelled, and flinched as he expected to be blasted from one side or other.

Inner Western Forest

Rix said, sarcastically, "'Owie' indeed."

Serinus said, "That was quite the bump you took, Loki. Are you alright? How about your little friend? Where's your hat?"

Sernja held back her blast of ice, but she kept staring at the female demon that had dared to insult her by calling her a 'lizard'.

"Huh? Oh yeah..." Loki said as he picked up his hat off the ground. He reached inside and pulled out the Eborall, "I think Nilrem is fine," Loki said as he handed him a nut from his pouch, "They are very durable and don't have many bones." After Nilrem had finished the nut he began bouncing up and down again and eventually jumped onto Loki's head - where he kept bouncing, "Yeh, hes fine."

The demoness restrained herself likewise, but matched Sernja, glare for glare.

Nephil, knowing he was dancing on a razor blade, did his level best to keep his tone neutral, "How about we all calm down and talk about this civily."

"Bah, nuts," groans Rix nibbling on a leaf from a near-by bush, "too crunchy for my tastes."

Serinus looks at Rix and burst out laughing.

Looking like someone who'd been caught with his hand in the cookie jar, Nephil spoke, "This is my wife, Lillel."

"Its the only thing Nilrem will eat. I think he is really sharp teeth..." said Loki as he straightened his hat again and sat back down. "Never eating peanut butter again..." Loki said as pulled out an herb from a small pouch and ate it.

Serinus says, "Well, you could have had a tuna sandwich instead."

Rix looks at the sky, "Well, if we are to get to Juno by the end of the day, we should start out again."

Serinus looks at him and asks, "Sure you don't want something to drink?"

Rix responds, "There is a stream a little ways down the path. I can get some water there."

They only do it when they have either not found their soul-twin yet or they are willing to bear the pain that comes from being seperated from their soul-twin."

"Ok, lets get go," said Loki as he stood up. He checked around where he was sitting for anything that had slipped out of his pockets. He had gone a few steps when he realized his pendant (http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b360/DMG2005/Pendant.jpg) at fallen off. He searched frantically around the picnic spot before finding over by the tree where he had fallen. He quickly reattached it and then ran as fast he could, which was pretty slow, after Serinus and Rix.

"We'll I'm not exactly here with Lillel's permission, which is why she looks like she'll gut me in about three seconds. Nor are we 'soul-twins', and it was more in the nature of an arranged marriage." Nephil replied, "Not that I havn't enjoyed it." He quickly added to try and mollify Lillel.

Derjanil asks, "Then why didn't you bring her along with you? She would be as welcome as you are. And we still have to travel to Juno."

Inner Fringes Of Centeral Forest

The trio emerged from the forest. A few meters in front of them was the base of the mountain. Serinus jogged over to it and pulled out a piece of metal. He gazed closely at the rock face before sticking the piece of metal in a hole and twisting it. A rock slid aside revealing an opening. "Get inside," he said, "I'll only have a minute to get in once I release this key."

Rix galloped as fast as his short legs could carry his slightly chubby body into the tunnel.

Derjanil asks, "Then why didn't you bring her along with you?"

Nephil was slightly off in his estimate, it was closer to seven seconds when Lillel proceeded to ram her hand into Nephil's chest, and yanked out his heart. He promptly collapsed, and about five seconds later was back on his feet.

"Because I don't like these fridged, disgusting up-lands." Lillel said in reply to the male dragon's question.
Nephil gave Derjanil a look that conveyed the message, 'What can you do.'

Plus," he points at Sernja, "I wouldn't insult the island in the presence of two Dragonlords. Especially if one of them is as ticked as she is. You really should apolgize for that 'lizard' comment of yours. Last time someone called her that, lets just say it took them a month to find all the pieces."

Loki stared confusedly for a moment before running for the entrance. He tripped halfway there and his hat fell over his eyes, but still managed to make it inside in time, "Uh, what is this?" Loki asked.

Base Of Mountain

Serinus lets the key release its tension and pulls it out. He jogs into the tunnel.

Hearing Loki's question, Rix says, "This tunnel leads to the top of the mountain. The walls are covered with a moss that glows without any magical aid."

Serinus catches up with the two and sits down to recover his breath.

"Derjanil, compared to almost all of hell, this is on the very low end of confortable." Nephil said, pointing out Lillel's arms, in which every hair was standing on end, as well as her razor sharp teeth which occasionally chattered. She still held his still beating heart.
"Also most demons view everything outside of hell as a squalid pit, it's nothing against the island."

Lillel looked at Sernja, and in the uniquely female method, conveyed the message that she'd apologise about the lizard crack, if Sernja apologise for man-handling her husband.

Base Of Mountain

As they began walking up the tunnel Loki became curious, "Is Juno on top of the mountain? How high up is it?"

Rix said, "Actually, I don't think anyone has actually measured the height of the mountain. I do know that the Dragonlords have used magic to make the travel time in these tunnels shorter."

Derjanil nods his understanding of what Nephil was saying. He replied, "Then perhaps you two would be more comfortable in the Great Desert on the other side of the Forbidden Mountains," he paused for a moment, "Perhaps either the city of Pteros or Canyon City would be more to your liking."

Nojirnus said, "Well, then you're in for a surprise."

Nojirnus closed his eyes and concentrated. His body became a red mist-like substance that shifted its shape and reformed into his Draconic (http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b140/SFShadowPhoenix/Character%20Pics/1088791824_agon_spell.jpg) form. He knelt down so that Volrath could climb up.
"Interesting. I guess you want me to climb up?", Volrath said and climbed up on the draconic being.

Lillel had used the black fires to form a pitch-black furred coat, which she put on.

Mountain Tunnel

"Oh," Loki said as they continued walking to the top, "I wonder what kind of magic they use? Maybe I will be able to learn something..." Loki's pace quickened at the thought.

Fair Haven

Command Sgt. Major Arnauld, Tom, First Lieutenant Lakes, and Sergeant First Class Boursier stayed quiet as the people talked.

Havoc and Chaos were far from Fair Haven. They started to find their prey.

William's brother said, "At least they have found something useful to do with that under-water boat of Lee Crab's."

William replied, "We all know of Crab's unsavory past, but now that he can leave the island like he has always wanted, will he?"

Dragonlord Mountain - Western Tunnel

Rix looked up at Loki as he waddled alongside him. He said, "Actually, from what I understand, each Dragonlord has unique magical abilities, usually elemental in nature. The other magical creatures on the island each practice their own types of magic."

The trio emerged from the western lip of the bowl that contained the city of Juno. Near them was the bridge they would have to use to cross over to it. Unlike the rest of the bridges around Juno, due to the distance, this was a well-maintained suspension rope bridge (OOC: Picture a rope version of the Golden Gate Bridge and you'll get the general idea).

Derjanil leans on the fence surrounding the resturant's outside dining area. He says, "You might not, but it appears she does," he pauses for breath, "still, traveling to Juno is still the best course of action. The Council can decide what to do."

Sernja glares at Lillel and spits a fist sized chunk of ice at the ground.

Inner Fringes Of Central Forest

As soon as Volrath was on, Nojirnus flared his scaled wings and took to the sky. He banked into a spiral to take advantage of the heat plume he had found and rise in altitude. Once he was high enough, Nojirnus began to glide towards the top of the mountain. They were headed for Juno.

OOC: @Madnestan: Perhaps have your character get frightend by something he/she sees. Perhaps one of the larger Saurians, like an Iguanodon, that call the island home.
