All preparations had been completed. Rooms for foreign representatives had been prepared, and the Valshanth stood proudly. For over a thousand years, it had symbolized the power of the Maril line.

The sky was beginning to lighten in the east. Soon, the sun would rise on an historic day in Kaymiril. Today, for the first time, foreigners would be welcome into Kaymiril...into the Valshanth itself. It was a nation from an isolationistic region, and the woman who had organized the allowance of foreigners to this event knew that she was garnering disapproval from the noble houses upon which she would have to rely during the upcoming century and a half or so.

The sun burst over the mountains in a glorious fanfare of scarlets and golds, illuminating the Valshanth and the surrounding areas. They would be arriving soon. Today was an historic day...but tomorrow would be doubly so.

"Are you ready?"
Annastrianna d' Maril, Crown Princess of Kaymiril, looked over her shoulder at her twin sister's approach. Dora'nes d' Maril looked exactly like her sister -- 5'6", extremely petite, with long white hair and vivid blue eyes -- save that Anna's expression was slightly more warm and open than that of her twin.
"I'm as ready as I'll ever be, Dora'. Has there been a Queen after Kaymiril I that was truly ready to crown?"
"No, never. And you invite foreigners to witness it."
"Your fiance is among those who we expect."
Dora' shrugged. "And you take the blame for that, as well."
Anna smiled. "Blame, sister? Or credit?" She looked back toward the rising sun once again. "I know you disapprove of this move...along with everyone else. It is time, though, that Kaymiril joined the world that it exists in, instead of hiding from it."
"You are the one being Crowned tomorrow, Anna. It is your decision to make...and your descendants' to maintain."

Anna nodded, watching the fog lift as the sun continued to rise. Today, she would meet with foreign officials, and perhaps begin the process of forging new alliances...and tomorrow...
Tomorrow, her mother would pass on the Crown, and she would become Kaymiril VII

If you know what Drow are and don't like them, A) Kaymiril is NOT a stereotypical Drow nation, B) If you don't believe this, don't request entry into this rp. Lord Barbarossa was the first to arrive in Kaymiril, the diplomatic shuttle coming down gently through the Terra atmosphere. He was alone inside, but was to be greeted on his arrival by a friend who was already there, waiting for him. His cool grey eyes scanned across the panels, making quick adjustments as he brought the shuttle into land in the arranged area.

Waiting for his President, Colonel James Cougar stood in his military dress uniform. Black trousers, tie and jacket, coupled with his stable belt, wedgewood blue shirt and polished parade shoes. The epitome of military dress, but he looked uncomfortable. Under his arm, he had his peaked cap, with false regiemental badge emblazoned upon it, to hide who he truly worked for. At his waist, a blade custom-made for him by the gods themselves sat in it's fine leather sheath. His blond hair was a stark contrast to his uniform, and there was something else about him, like an inner flame that came into the world of the real. At 5'7'', he had the aura of a man who had seen much and fought much in his twenty seven years. Much more than the average human to say the very least

Barbarossa stepped down from the craft, smoothing the wrinkles from his grey suit, which complemented his black shoes and greying hair well. His cool grey eyes were a stark contrast to his companions, which were sapphire blue in colour. He walked up to Cougar, who he was ever so slightly taller than, and slightly more bulky, and shook his hand, before embracing his old friend,"Good to see you James."

J -- Good to see you to, Jacius

B -- No Rhenmet?

J -- She says she wasn't invited. Personally, I don't believe her, but you know the way it is

B -- Yes. Today is to be a great day indeed

J -- You're the first to arrive, bar myself of course

B -- Glad to hear it. Shall we go?

J -- I think it would be wise

Together, the two men walked towards the Valshanth, the first foreigners to ever step foot in it's hallowed halls

The Imperial Jumbojet flew deep into Kaymiril. The vivid white and red coloring contrasted one another, especially with the glare of the setting sun. It set down quickly and quietly, the trip had been pleasant and restful for the royals onboard.

Prince Newt was the first to step off, he wore a traditional dark brown single breasted suit, that complimented his hair and eyes. He stood waiting, his jacket open revealing his pleated white shirt and fine silk tie. His cousin Rebecca slowly walked up to him stretching, she wore a simple day dress with a flower print. She asked Newt "That flight was nice." Newt merely grinned and nodded as he looked around the tarmac as to what to do next.

The Emperor and his wife slowly walked down the stairs of the jet, escorted by the rest of the imidiate royal family. All dressed similarly to Newt and Rebecca. They joined the two, and waited for guide.

Cougar twitched slightly as the orbiting S.E.N Chimera gave him an update. He looked at Barbarossa,"The Newtdom Royal Family has arrived at the nearest avaliable airstrip. As Kaymiril does not have an air-force or commercial flights as we know them, they have landed close by. Should we go and meet them? It is to be sometime until proceedings begin"

B -- You seem to know much

J -- *Smiles*I try Jacius, I try

The royals had no idea what to do, they were use to travelling but in a different fashion. Prince Newt kept everyone's hopes up until Princess Margaret asked "What is that?" pointing at two men walking towards the plane.

Newt looked at Prince William and shrugged. Rebecca on the otherhand ran out towards Barbarossa and lept into his arms. She said jokingly "Thanks for saving us"

Barbarossa hugged her back, pecking her on the cheek,"Glad to be of service Rebecca. Allow me to introduce my old friend, the one I told you about, *whispers*The one who married a Drow himself* James Cougar"

Cougar inclined his head slightly in a gesture of respect,"Your Highness"

She grinned "None of that please, I am not a royal. Just a cousin of the family. It is a pleasure to meet you Mr. Cougar." She looked back at her cousins who were walking in the same direction. She continued "Do you know what we need to do to get to this party?"

Barbarossa started to speak, but Cougar cut him off,"Please, call me Colonel, or James. As for the party... events are yet to start, but we were just on our way there. If you would follow me"

As he began to lead them, Barbarossa whispered to her,"Sorry about him. Little bit high-strung, but he's got alot on his mind all the time. You'll never really see him relaxed"

Rebecca grinned and nodded then wispered "I know the type, its no big deal really." Her family followed closely behind them, along with the enterage of assistants and servants carrying their luggage. Rebecca turned back to Barbarossa "So what should we be expecting at this coronation, is it similar to those of humans?"

OOC: As a side note, if you'd read what Cougar has done, you'd understand

IC: Barbarossa shook his head,"Your guess is as good as mine. What I can tell you is that the current Queen Kaymiril VI will pass on the crown to Princess Annastrianna d' Maril, who will then be known as Kaymiril VII. This is the first time foreigners have been allowed to witness this, thanks in part to the Colonel."

Rebecca nodded and asked "How did the Colonel manage that? This is all new to me, as you know."

IC: Barbarossa grinned,"Well..eighteen months ago, I sent him on assignment to the White Tower of Hoeth. He has an ablity within him that I cannot explain, you would have to ask him. There, he met a Kaymirilian mage known only as Renor, whom I doubt you will ever meet, and this mage took him under his wing. Since then, he's gone a long way. He made first contact with the Princess, during what is now termed the Drescon Incident, but I know no specific details, and is officially the Snake Ambassador to Kaymiril"

Cougar shot a glance over his shoulder,"Doesn't mean I use it though, does it?"

B -- Private conversation

J -- All those years working with the unit, and you didn't learn to be discrete? How did you survive?

The banter was all done in a teasing manner, as if these two had known each other for many years

Rebecca smiled listening to the jovial manner of the conversation. Once she realized the basic conversation was over she said "I see, well that is interesting. How long have you two known one another?"

Cougar thought about this, and then said to her,"I've known him since I was about ten years old... so about seventeen years now"

OOC: First off, SE, you give yourself too much credit. Anna was working on opening Kaymiril since well before I met you.
Second, Kaymiril DOES have an airforce. Just b/c you've never seen the Thalacks in action doesn't mean they can't kick butt, AND I put together a Kaymirilian Air Force in Nov.

A man, obviously a servant in the Valshanth (he was wearing the Maril crest on his right shoulder, underscored with a green eye), glided up to them on what looked like a flying carpet straight out of The 1001 Arabian Nights.

"Gentlemen, Ladies, forgive me the delay...we were not expecting to find you all the way out here. If you will step on, we can get you to the Valshanth within a few minutes time. The Princesses are expecting you."

He recognised who they were...and aside from that, he wore what looked like an armor plate on his left shoulder...Cougar would recognise this object...this man was not only a guide...but a security force.

"I am known as Iril...can I offer you anything to drink?"

A flying contenient appeared on the horizon. It was making enough noise for an entire fleet of aircraft and then some. It was muffled though, and barley noticable. What ever kept it afloat used A LOT of power. It simply flew by. In front of the Valshanth however, four people appeared, two humans, one half-drow, and what appeared to be an imitation woman, perhaps a weird alien.

Two were men, bothe dressed in ceremonial Armor. Then, light, and empressive. Both wore a real geniune sword at their side.
One was definatly a woman. She had Purple hair. A blue dress as befit and lady of Noble station, with High-heels and long-sleeved gloves to match, and a permanet smile on her lips. On her right hand sat an engagement ring.

The Imitation woman didn't walk very well. She appeared to be wobbleing like a drunk. In truth, she was niether male nor female, and in fact, the Queen Sliver of The Eternal Dominion of Warhaven. She was in a vaguely humanoid form, with long multi-colored hair, and a long black dress. Scales took the place of skin, and she had long nails. Black Heels clicked on stone and all forms of Pavement. She carried a purse by her side.

The Purple haired woman was with the Half-drow man.
The Sliver Queen was with the Regular man, who appeared to be in his early fifties. All four of them walked up to the gates.

"Lord Warfare, Lady Arianna, Lord Rahegalhoff, and Queen Sliver, we're all here for Princess Anna's Coronation by a personal Invite." Warfare said.

There was more to these four than meets the eye, and all four of them were armies in and of themselves, at least Warfare and Arianna were.

OOC: Maybe I do, but I made an assumption based on what I knew, so I'm sorry :( EDIT:I also just realised that I phrased it wrong. It should have been,"Kaymiril has no airforce as we know it". Using Thalacks means you don't need runways, sorry for the confusion

IC: Cougar noted the armour on the man's shoulder, Security force as well as servent, or so it would appear and shook his head,"Nothing for me, I've got to stay sober"

Barbarossa, on the other hand,"The flight was long. I could do with a glass of water. Nothing else for the moment"

Magda walked from her helicopter un-accompanied, she strode confidently into the hall to be greeted.

As soon as all the guests had boarded, Iril gave Barbarossa a glass of water (it was actually served in an intricately beautiful goblet), and then served the Newtownian nobles whatever they wanted as the carpet gained altitude and started toward the Valshanth.

OOC: I'll let a few posts worth of convo happen on the rugs, and then move it along.

Barbarossa sipped at the water, which was crystal clear and ice-cold, just how he liked it, whilst looking around him,"Would you believe it is my first offical vist here?"

J -- Mine too

B -- Really? I thought you lived in Kaymiril

J -- I do... but not here. Royalty only in the Valshanth.

B -- So where do you live then?

J -- In the area surrounding Mithdelmar... a small village called Che'el, in the Isto province.

B -- I see... that's why it takes time when we try to contact you

J -- Pretty much, yeah.

she travelled with the man to the location.

'So..the prince is to be married then? I am most disappointed i didnt get to meet him...oh well' she said.

OOC: Don't bump my thread. I'm letting it take its time right now for a reason.

"I am afraid I have not met this prince you speak of. As to these rumors...no announcement has come from the Valshanth at this point in time. I can neither confirm nor deny what you say."

A tall hairy creature in a black suit arrives. He bows down to all guests and says, "Though my master the Empror of Mosntern cannot attend he does want to provide a humble gift for the Royal family on this most exhalted moment." At that moment he turns and through the doors comes three carriges brought in by well groomed teams of Homo Sapines. Each carrage is filled with gold, jewlry, and perfume.
"My master hopes this gift will searve you in years to come." This creature then bows out and leaves.

Rebecca smiled at the servant when he asked what she wanted to drink, she responded "I'll have a scotch and water." She smiled to Barbarossa afterward, and boarded the craft. The Prince nodded "The same please." The rest of the royals asked for water and took their respective seats.

OOC: sorry for being late, I was busy today.

Anna inclined her head gracefully. "We thank your Emperor for his gift, and wish him peace and long life."
She watched as the hairy being left.

The rug sets down in front of a pair of double doors. The building they had come to looked almost alive, but it stood in an ancient, dignified sort of way.

Iril: "If you will follow me, please."

They are brought in to meet Crown Princess Annastrianna and Princess Dora'nes.

Anna: "Barbarossa, Col. Cougar...gre'as'anto lu' verve dro...it has been too long." Snake Eaters and Kaymiril had been allies for well over a year. She then looks to the Newtonian royals, and gives the slight Kaymirilian bow.

"Gre'as'anto lu' verve dro. Dos bel'la udossa xuil dosst llanath." ((Peace and long life. You honor us with your presence.))

Dora': Anna, allow me to present my fiance, his parents, and his cousin.

Anna nods to each of the royals in turn.

Magda is ushered in shortly thereafter. Anna gives her a nod. "Gre'as'anto lu' verve dro."

The Emperor and his son stood at the apex of the traingular formed group. The elderly man smiled and returned the Kaymirilian bow with a normal royal bow from the west. He spoke in Anna's tongue "Nau ussta jallil, ol bel'lan udossa tlu wun dosst llanath" (No mylady, it honors us to be in your presence).

As the formalities continued Newt glanced at Dora' and smiled that unique smile only ones in love can muster.

Dora' returns Newt's smile for a moment before snapping her attention back to the proceedings.

After a while ((OOC: SE, if you had something to put, feel free)), Anna looked to her sister.

"Dora', would you take our guests onwards? I will wait here for any others that wish to arrive."

Dora' nods, then looks to the guests. "If you would all follow me, please."

She turns and takes them to another room. The first room had looked like a semi-modern (no electric lights, although it was perfectly well lit) medieval-style lobby, this looked like a renaissence ball room. It was set up with desks and chairs.

"Feel free to make yourselves comfortable. When you are ready to be shown to your rooms, or if there is something you should require, guesture for a servant."

There were no visible servants within the room...fairly odd, with a monarchial society.

Newt helped his father into one of the chairs, and excused himself. He walked to Dora' and grinned, he hugged her and kissed her on the cheek. He asked "How have you been?"

She smiles at him. "I've been well. How have you been?"

He grinned "Well, I've been lost without you." he paused for a moment and chuckled "No, I have been well too."

She smiles slightly. If there had been a Kaymirilian equivalent for "That was really cheesy/corny" she would have used it.

"What do you think of my country thus far?" she asked instead.

OOC: Lol, thats not nice...

Newt grinned "Well from what I have seen I have been very impressed. Now, I know you are mystical beings but please explain to me how that bloody flying carpet works." He gave a short laugh after the final comment.

"Well," she said, guiding him over to a pair of chairs and sitting down, guesturing for him to do the same, "to explain this properly, you need to know that it does not really 'fly.' The threads used to make them are first heavily enchanted to increase strength and decrease weight. Then, after the rug has been woven, it is checked to make sure it is suitable for flying. It generally takes a MasterWeaver or a very highly talented adept to craft a rug suitable for flight. After that, it is enchanted with a series of spells that will allow it to levitate at whatever altitude and speed that the master of the rug can safely tolerate, at that master's will. We use them when we intend to transport more than one or two people some distance...for one or two people, we use gliders, like Zotreth. They are to us as your...what was the word...automobiles? are to you in your culture."

Barbarossa looked at him in wonderment, for Cougar was indeed sitting on air, a faint flickering flame surrounding his form,"You prefer that?"

J -- I can do pretty much what I want with this. Hell, can fly if I want to... but not in here

Magda sat down in her elegant dress and velvet cloak, the journey had been long and tiring, she wondered where the man she had met first had gone, she would like to have talked to him more.

she returned a greeting in her native russian.

Cougar looked around around him, then looked back at Barbarossa,"So, care to point out the party I don't recognise?"

Babarossa laughed,"Haven't you been to Newtdom?"

J -- Passed through once, never paid much attention

B -- Well, the eldest one is Emperor Newt... not sure what the number is. The next oldest if Crown Prince Newt

J -- They are both called Newt?

B -- Tradition apparantly.

J -- There are odder things in the world. And the others?

B -- I don't know the others... the one who came running up is Rebecca, a cousin

A wry smile passed over James' face,"I noticed she seemed quite infatuated with you"

B -- *Confidantly*Isn't everybody?

J -- Cut that out, *mutters*immodest bugger

B -- I heard that

J -- I've no doubt you did. Enhanced hearing, vision... hell, we've got it all in our unit

B -- I think I need another drink

J -- Are you alright? You don't normally drink this much

B -- I'm feeling odd... not normal

J -- I could take you to Mithdelmar, have Mith check you out, if he's not busy

B -- He?

J -- Long story

B -- Ah

J -- *Holds up his hand*Excuse me

A servant seems to appear at his side, and gives a bow.

"How may I be of service?"

Barbarossa started slightly,"How the hell..."

Cougar merely shook his head, and said to the servant,"My friend here is feeling under the weather. Is there anything you can get him that could help?"

The servant looked to Barbarossa briefly. "If you like, there is always a Gray-Class Mage on hand at the Valshanth...but I also believe that Mith himself is here for the coronation. I do not doubt that he would make time for such a distinguished guest."

Cougar nodded,"If Mith himself could take a look, then that would be ideal"

"If you will wait here a moment." The servant makes a bow and leaves.

Whilst the man left to find Mith, Barbarossa looked at Cougar,"We have time. care to explain about Mith?"

J -- Best give him an edited version... I'm not sure how much he can know

He sighed, and then said,"It was about eighteen months ago... there was a rogue going round, spreading all sorts of discord. It was at the same time I came back to fight the summons, you remember?

B -- Yeah, I remember

J -- Once I'd finished there, we left and went after this rogue. In the ensuing battle, Aras (The name of the previous Mith) took him on... and got killed in the process. So, in the tradition, her Chosen, Jalron, took on the name of Mith. He'll be the one checking you over

B -- Interesting... I must read up on the Kaymiril culture file again

At about that time, the servant reappeared, slightly to Barbarossa's left this time. He gave a bow again.

"Mith can see you immediately, sir. If you will come with me, please."

Barbarossa rose,"I'll see you later James"

As he left, Cougar smiled,"I'm sure you will... but its not me I'd be looking for"

Barbarossa was led to Mith's chambers. When he was led in, the first thing he saw was a cloaked figure in gray prepping a syringe...the needle appeared to be about as long as Barbarossa's index finger.

Meanwhile, the Kaymirilian nobility was beginning to file in. Some of them looked at the humans disdainfully, others looked at them expressionlessly, and some attempted to look welcoming. It really all depended on the House.

Barbarossa looked slightly worried as he saw the syringe,"Something inside me prays that isn't for me"

Cougar, on the other hand, stayed where he was, eyes connecting with a few of the Kaymirilan nobles, but on the whole he already knew what their reactions would be, having been through this sort of thing, albeit with the mages, who were far more accomadating to humans

M -- Only if things go very badly. *He sets down the syringe.* Now, all joking aside...what is the trouble?

Barbarossa's face loosened as his muscles relaxed,"I've been feeling bad since before I arrived, and I was wondering if you could tell me what was wrong"

Mith summons a chair behind Barbarossa, then takes a seat himself.

"What, specifically, can you tell me?"

"Nothing essentially. Basic symptons are nausea, which I attributed to space sickness, and a constant headache since before I arrived. Also, slight lesions on my left forearm. The symptons are constant with something we've been looking at in Snake Eaters recently"

He drew his sleeve back, and showed Mith

Mith caled over an instrument and scraped off a small sample of one of the lesions, then had a different mechaniod start analysing it. Meanwhile, he began running some of the basic diagnostic spells.

"Have you been keeping yourself well hydrated? What's your diet like?"

Diets fine, as is my normal physical status, I work out every day. I've had a few drinks, just water, since I arrived, and a few on the journey here

H'mmm...*Mith moves off to lok at what the unit had come up with.* From what I know of human physiology...this isn't good.

Barbarossa did his best not to look worried, and failed,"What's wrong?"

It looks like a virus...which means if it's lethal, you could be in trouble. It's analysing the chemical components now...we'll soon be able to tell.

Umm.... that worries me. We've been studying this virus for nearly a year, and haven't found a solution!

*His voice was beginning to crack*

"Calm down. You're an adult, I didn't think I'd have to sugar coat it for you."

He's analysing the results. "It looks fairly lethal...but I think we could formulate a cure...or at the least, a vaccine. For now, though, I want you to ask a servant to take you to your chambers. You are quarantined until further notice...how contagious have your scientists found this to be?"

It only affect humans, something to do with their genetic make-up. Therefore, the only other people at risk are the Colonel and the Newtdom Royal Family. But I will accept your quarantine. Thank you, Mith.

I will be working on a cure for you.

*He guestures, and speaks briefly with the servant, who leads Barbarossa to a set of rooms. While they aren't as ornate or showy as most castle guest-rooms, they had a quiet grace and elegance, along with extreme comfort -- and didn't neglect to show off the power of the family.*

Servant: If you need anything, speak to this. *He activates a small metal pad, which transforms into the shape of a sparrow.* He will come get me or another household servant, and we will be more than glad to see to any needs you might have.

Barbarossa thanked the servant, and set about settling in. He'd been in quarantine before... didn't mean he enjoyed it

The servant left him.

Mith, meanwhile, set about to testing this virus. He'd have to figure out a way to see if the other humans had caught the disease in the time they'd been exposed...in any event, he'd have to innoculate them all.

Cougar might know something... Mith guestured for a servant, and told him to summon Cougar.

The servant appeared almost at Cougar's elbow, giving a bow. "If you please, Mith wishes to see you."

Cougar glanced at the servant at his elbow,"Certainley" He 'stood' up, and followed the man to Mith,"You asked to see me?"

Mith held out a sketch of the virus. "Do you recognise this?"

He glanced at the sketch briefly, before turning his gaze back onto Mith,"Yeah, I've seen it before. Why?"

Mith seemed to ignore the question. "What do you know of it?"

More than most Snake scientists. It's a biological weapon, but it's natural. We found it on a survey mission to an unnamed world, designated PX-429. It infected, and killed the other members of my team. I somehow survived, but I don't know how I did or why. Since then, I haven't seen it

"It has infected your friend. I would like a blood sample of yours...if it did not affect you...perhaps there is a reason. And natural biological weapons are known as 'toxins.'"

Cougar ignored the last comment entirely,"Barbarossa is infected?! If you say you need a sample, feel free"

"Infected...apparently, it has been seen in several cases across your world in the past twelve months." Mith took a needle (Not the big one...although it will make a reappearance) and drew a blood sample, then began running a number of tests on small samples, infecting some with the virus, and leaving others alone.

"I have Barbarossa under quarantine...I will attempt to find a cure before the coronation, but if I do not, he will not be joining the rest of us."

Cougar nodded silently, thinking everything over. Whilst he was no doctor, he knew the rules of quarantine. If Mith said he wasn't allowed out, Barbarossa wouldn't try. He sat there, waiting for the results

"Interesting...it appears that you have some sort of genetic immunity to this virus...I'm attempting to isolate the specific gene at the moment."

That's most likely one of the genes I was 'given' as a result of the Leviathan Project

"Perhaps."

Mith works swiftly...the little bits of equipment he has wouldn't seem sufficient for the sort of work he was doing...and yet, there he was, working as easily here as he would in Mithdelmar with more advanced equipment.

"I will agree that it does not appear standard...at least, not activated. It is a dormant gene...now, to figure out how to activate it..."

Mith sits there a minute, thinking, his chin in his hand.

Cougar was astounded by the man's work, and knew why this Mith deserved his place, for he was easily almost Aras' equal in training, though not in raw talent... though Aras had switched professions not so long ago. The gene was dormant... activating it was a trick,"Any ideas of how to activate it?"

"Maybe...perhaps..." he goes to work again, running through several tests within a few minutes. "There. I know how to activate it for the other humans...but there is a catch for your friend."

"He's already infected, so a vaccine isn't going to do him any good"

"Exactly. A cure for a virus...especially one like this...is a monster of an entirely different shade."

"Well...." Cougar thought for a moment, then brought up a holographic screen from his eye, looking at the proteins in this virus,"It's like a prion... so what we need is something to destroy it once it's started, and the answer is in that vaccine you've just created"

"No...not exactly in the vaccine...if I've learned anything about viruses, you can't find a cure in the prevention." He thought a few more moments. "Here." He indicates one of the atoms in the viral chain. "Here it is weak. here we can exploit that. We have a generic viral cure...it can cure some few, but we are working on curing others...wait...I know what can cure this, I know exactly what can cure this...I've seen it before...developed it with Mith."

He stands and speaks briefly into a glider-type machine, and sits down to wait.

Cougar noted everything Mith was doing, so that they could have an example in Snake Eaters should anything go wrong.

A vial came in for Mith, and he shook it, then administered a small dose to a virus sample.

"Quick, clean, and effective. However...Barbarossa will need quite a large dose to have him up and about by tomorrow."

"Do you want me to take it to him?"

"I'll go. Better a doctor stabs a leader of another world with a sharp object than one of his own men."

Mith picks up the large syringe again, then inverts the vial, drawing in the dose through the cork. After the syringe is filled, he prepares for the other components of giving an injection, and picks up the case he'd prepared.

He then stats walking toward Barbarossa's chambers.

Cougar stifled a laugh, then left where they had been talking to return to the main chamber, where he informed Rebecca of Barbarossa's condition before sitting down

A servant knocks at Barbarossa's door.

Barbarossa opened the door, having removed his suit jacket and tie,"Yes?"

"Mith will be here shortly...he believes he has found a cure."

Barbarossa nodded,"Many thanks"

About thirty seconds later, Mith came in. "Sit down, Barbarossa...do you want a numbing agent? You'll require a large dose of antidote...and I won't lie to you and say the injection will not hurt."

I prefer to feel some pain. It reminds me I'm alive. Just... hurry up and get it over with

"If that is what you prefer." Mith prepped Barbarossa's arm and then slid the needle out of the case. He then began talking...something about how he's trying to find a Chosen to train, but all the young ones seem to lack talent, etc, and he made sure that Barbarossa's attention was on him, not the needle, before he slid the needle into the man's arm as gently as he could. It would still definitely hurt.

Barbarossa concentrated, knowing what Mith was doing, trying to divert his attention away from the pain, but he knew it was still going to hurt no matter what he did, so he gritted his teeth as he felt the needle slide in, and grimaced but didn't yell out in pain, no matter how much he wanted to

As soon as the dose was given, Mith slid the needle out of Barbarossa's arm, applying a little guaze pad and keeping it there with an adhesive spell. It would fall off on its own when the scab formed.

"For the next time you receive an injection, do not tense up your arm. It increases the pain. Keep your arm muscles relaxed, and move your arm some. When the guaze falls off, put this on your arm *He takes out what looks a lot like a cold pack and tosses it on the bed* and it should reduce swelling."

Barbarossa resisted the urge to touch the pad, and smiled,"I've been told that by any number of field medics, and it never sunk in. Thanks Mith, I owe you"

Mith made a small guesture that wouldn't translate very well into any Westernized culture, and left.

Rebecca was shocked when she heard the news from Cougar. Her shock quickly changed to a worrisome state of mind, imagining the consequences if a vaccine or innoculation was not created in time. She had planned on informing her family, but to be safe she chose not too. It was suppose be a joyous occasion, not a catastrophe. She had thought. She waited, detached from the rest of the visitors, worrying about all of the people who may or may not have been infected.

Cougar went over to her,"It's fine, trust me. Mith is the best you'll ever meet at his job, and in less than half an hour developed a vaccine and a cure. Jacius just got cured, so he'll be back soon. I could take you to see him once you are vaccinated, with Mith's permission"

A servant appeared not far from the Newtonian royal family, then stepped up to the Emperor and gave a bow.

"If you please, your Majesties, our Healer would speak with all of you."

The Emperor looked at the rest of his family, noticing in the distance his neice. He waved her over, and turned to the servant, he nodded and said "Is there a problem, we shall gladly meet with him regardless, but I would like to know if there is one."

The servant bows again. "My apologies...but he told me that I was not to discuss it."

Rebecca looked at Cougar and nodded, "Thank you, but the Emperor requests my presence." She bowed and walked towards her uncle. Whe she arrived the Emperor informed her about speaking with the healer, and they followed the servant to the famous Mith.

Mith was standing in an antechamber to the side of the corridor. He made a bow when the Newtonian royals entered.

"If you would all please take a seat..." He guestured to the chairs in the room.

They all responded with a slight bow. Then they all took a seat, and the Emperor asked "So is there a problem?"

"Unfortunately, yes. I found out roughly an hour ago that Lord Barbarossa of Snake Eaters had been infected with a potentially lethal virus. It only has about a 5% rate of infection, so at this point, I would only like to innoculate you all. I am also aware that he recently visited your country. Are there any who had prolonged contact with him?"

The Emperor nodded and spoke for the group "I see, well I am sure no one in my party would protest about being innoculated. We have all truly had a prolonged contact with Barbarossa as he was present at all of our gatherings. But Rebecca took a shining to him, in particular."

Rebecca rose from her seat, "That would be me, sir."

Cougar nodded, and let her go, before sitting back down, now uncomfortably aware that he was the only human left in the room

In his quarantine, Barbarossa pressed the ice-pack to his arm, thinking over very carefully what had just happened,'I came so close to dying back there

Mith nods. "As I said, at the moment, I merely wish to innoculate you, and I can send some to your country to innoculate any others that may have come into contact with the virus. If any of you start displaying these symptoms: headache, nausea, and lesions forming on the skin, contact me immediately for the cure."

The group nodded, and the Emperor said "Thank you, I'll make sure the family is healty." They waited for the innoculations to occur.

Only a tiny bit of vaccine would be required, so Mith used small needles, prepping the shot and the patient with care, and then finding the vein so gently that the insertion of the needle would be barely felt.

When he was done, he bowed again.

"That is all...the vaccine will be on its way to your country within the hour."

None of the royals flinched, they were use to innoculizations. Once they were complete the Emperor rose from his seat and bowed back towards Mith. He said "We are forever in your debt for saving us from this horrid disease." The others followed in suit of the Emperor, and bowed gracefully to their healer.

Cougar walked up to Mith,"I take it you just vaccinated these people?"

Magda wandered in from the shadows.
'will i need an injection?' she asked quietly.

"I did my job, your Majesties...no more."

Magda seemed to have caught the party in midflow, she was confused, she sat down in the corner quietly.

Magda wandered in from the shadows.

Mith nods. "Yes, you will. Come...I'll have it over with shortly. It won't hurt."

He begins prepping the next innoculation.

'No...I dont know...I have nothing, I was sent here to get married to a man and be gone from my country, i was at risk from terrorism- please help' she said gripping onto his arm, sheer desperation in her eyes.

Cougar bowed to the Emperor,"My apologies your majesty, but it is common practice to ask the medic who enforced the quarantine. I would not take anyone to see Lord Barbarossa without Mith's consent. And my thanks Mith. Ms. Rebecca, if you so desire it, I can now take you to see Jacius now"

'No...I dont know...I have nothing, I was sent here to get married to a man and be gone from my country, i was at risk from terrorism- please help' she said gripping onto his arm, sheer desperation in her eyes.
"Wrong country...this is Kaymiril, not Newtdom. I would speak to Princess Anna if I were you...perhaps she could help you. I am only a healer."

she sat there for a while, sobbing gently, no-one would take her in.

Wolf walked up to Mith, having arrived late, and noticed the mage was having some difficulties with a young woman. Wolf was quite tall, about 5'10'', with coppery hair that ran down her back, and was dressed for the occasion, but still radiated an aura of deadliness when called for,"Would you like a helping hand Mith?"

"If you don't mind, but first, give me your arm." *He preps and innoculation*

"Cougar buzzed me about this, something about a virus floating around? In any case*turns to Magda*Now then, what is your name

Her voice was soft, warm and gentle

Mith quickly gives Wolf the innoculation, then steps back.

'I'm Magda, I was here to meet the prince, but hes married and i dont have a home, my parents dont want me to get killed, so they sent me away, i have no-one' she said, her voice getting quicker and quicker.

Wolf gestured to Mith, as if saying Go whilst you can!, and then looked at Magda,"I'm Wolf, it's not my real name, but everybody calls me it. Don't worry, you are safe here"

Mith packed his syringes and vaccine and left the room.

The Emperor nodded to Cougar, and then turned to Rebecca "You are free to go my dear." She nodded and bowed to her uncle as she walked with Cougar.

At about the same time Newt excused himself from the company of his family, and went looking for Dora'. He was wandering really, not knowing where to go, nor who or really how to ask.

A servant appeared near Newt and bowed. "Pardon me...but you appear lost."

As Cougar walked, he began to talk to Rebecca,"Something tells me that your interest in my friend is slightly more than professional"

Newt smiled and said, "Well yes, I think I am. I'm searching for Princess Dora'. Could you help me find her?"

Rebecca's stern, somewhat somber face changed to a smile "What ever do you mean by that, Mr. Cougar?" She shrugged "Yes, I would imagine so."

"She has returned to her sister. I will take you there."

The servant turns, and within a minute has them back to the entrance hall, where Anna and Dora' wait for more visitors. They're talking, discussing something or other.

"I've told you before, it's Colonel or James. No-one calls me Mr. As for Jacius Barbarossa, you could do far worse"

Newt bowed his head to the servant "Thank you." He then walked further into the hall, once reaching the spot where the two stood, he bowed humbily. Then looked up and smiled brightly.

Rebecca grinned "I know, I won't call you Mister any longer then. I'm sure I could do a lot worse indeed, he seems to be a great man."

Anna nods at him -- the way she does it, it looks almost like a bow. The movement is echoed by her sister.

A -- "Prince Newt...I am told by my sister that you plan on having two ceremonies...the traditional Kaymirilian, and the traditional Newtonian."

He is a great man, among the best. If it wasn't for him, I doubt I would be walking these halls today

Newt nodded "Yes my'Princess, that is what has been planned. But surely that can be changed if need be, whether for your schedule or for that matter any of the families."

Rebecca grinned "I'm glad you concur. So you two fought together?"

Anna looked at Dora'.

"It shouldn't be a problem...being royalty has an advantage in that your schedule can be changed if absolutely necessary. If there is anything you want to know, you can speak with our mother about it."

Once or twice. He was on the way out of the unit as I was going in, so we didn't work together much. But he taught me alot in the time we did work together

Newt nodded "I'm sure I will get the chance to speak to her some time before the ceremonies regarless. But, excuse me could I speak with Dora' alone, my'lady?"

Rebecca nodded "Ahh, well thats interesting. Is there anything I should know about him?"

Anna nodded to her sister, and Dora' started to step off. "We leave her here to the presumably pleasant duties of greeting those that arrive."

Rebecca hugged him back "Well I'm better now. I was worried sick about this whole virus bit. And what about you?"

He grinned, "Do not worry Princess, it should not take very long." He began to walk off, then realizing he had no idea where to go.
Dora' joins him, and starts leading him somewhere. "Don't worry...it takes a while to get used to navigating here."

Newt nodded "Sorry, I was just so use to guiding you around. How have you been?"

"I've been well...day to day life...even hectic day to day life...here, is easier than being a guest elsewhere. Anna's better at it than I am. Are you sure you don't wish to meet my mother now, while she is yet Queen?"

Newt nodded "Whatever you wish, I am now the guest...you should lead me around." He grinned.

They come to a door, and she opens it, but prevents him from stepping through. The reason why soon becomes apparent, as it looks like a direct dropoff. She activates Zotreth, which had previously been on her wrist, and steps on, then waits for him.

"Don't worry...it's perfectly safe."

He looked down, and said "If you insist." He sighed, closed his eyes and took a step. It was an awkward feeling, and immediately grabbed onto Dora' for stability. He grinned and apologized, but held on tight.

The transport is perfectly steady, and it glides forward slowly.

"This is no different from the carpet, but smaller."

The scenery was beautiful...it looked to be a very well cared for garden. She opened the next door she came to...the throne room.

"There will be a bridge spanning the distance tomorrow. For now, though...it is as it always is."

The throne room was huge, with walls that looked like they extended forever into the murky darkness above. At the moment, it was lit only lowly, but as they stepped off, it brightened somewhat. The queen was sitting at the end of the room, on a throne that was set right in front of the Maril Crest. She looked at them, and though she was aging (she doesn't look old...they only look old their last few years, if at all), it was easy to see the resemblance between her and her daughters.

Dora' approached her mother and gave a bow, deeper than Newt would have ever seen before.

"Gre'as'anto lu' verve dro, ilhar." She then switched to Common. "I present my fiance, Crown Prince Newt XXI, of Newtdom."

The old queen looked at Newt, and gave him a nod. "Gre'as'anto lu' verve dro."

Newt bowed in the same fashion he did to any Human royal. It was deep, graceful, and well practiced. For the first time, in a long time, he was at a loss for words. As he went over how to formally greet his soon to be mother-in-law, after a few moments he finally pieced together a coherant statement "It is a pleasure to meet you, may you live long and prosper. It has been an honor to meet, and fall in love with your daughter."

"Your acceptance of her honors us. May she bring as much good to your House as she has to ours."

She then turned to her daughter. "Dora', alu nin. Gaer ph' klezn ulu vel'bolen dos z'klaen ptau'a, p'los l' sssiks uriu sei'lor."

Dora' bowed again, then turned to leave.

Newt bowed similarly to the manner in which he entered and turned the same as Dora'. As they walked out he wispered "Why must we leave so quickly?"

She gets to the end, then activates Zotreth and steps on, waits for him, and lets the door closed before she answers.

"For the official reason...my sister is crowned tomorrow, and there are many things that I must attend to before the sun rises tomorrow morning. For the real reason..."

The transport starts moving off, back toward the other side. "My mother does not approve of this at all. She respects Anna's vision...but she still believes that Kaymiril should not let in foreigners."

Newt nodded "I see, thats understandable."

"It doesn't help that you're human...because of humans, my brother was lost." She steps off as the glider comes to the other side. "And I used to have her same view..."

Warfare, Arianna, Rahegalhoff, and the queen sliver in her current form, all sat waiting patiently. They were in an out of the way spot which explained why no one was paying them any mind.(OOC: that and the fact that currently I can't get on as often, and thus I gave Kay permission to control my Chars as neccessary.) They all sat with a serenity not normally seen. They sat perfectly still, no sign of breath, no sign of movement, and really and truely looked like statues more than real people, that's how still and quietly they sat.

Rebecca hugged him back "Well I'm better now. I was worried sick about this whole virus bit. And what about you?"

I'm alright, just my arm is still numb from this ice, but I've got to keep it on due to the swelling.

IC: Wolf smiled. Although a solider, she was still capable of compassion. She put her arm round Magda's shoulders,"You'll be safe here. No-one will hurt you, Kaymiril is one of the most protective nations I know of. They are good people"

'well, my native Serafima is constantly being fought over, my parents didn't want me to get hurt or killed, they recieved a telegram asking for princesses, so they shipped me over here not wanting me to come back...they sent me on a one-way ticket' she said quietly.

"Your parents obviously care for you very much. It is not easy to live in a nation wracked by war, as well I and the Colonel know. If you are not allowed home, I'm sure that the Princesses will grant you amnesty"

"The Princesses are busy are busy at the present time, and I dare not go see the queen, for she does not share her daughters vision of the future... let us take a walk, and talk some more"

As Wolf began to lead her out the door, Cougar came up alongside, whispered something in her ear, and when she looked at him he nodded silently

'whats the matter?' she asked.

Wolf shook her head at Cougar, and whispered back to him something else. He nodded, inclined his head slightly to Magda, before simply vanishing into thin air, a thin ripple of flame where he had been. Wolf chuckled and then turned to Magda,"Sorry about that, nothing you need to worry about. He just had to give me a message. Colonel Cougar is my commanding officer"

Magda smiled.
'oh...alright' she said nervously.
'so...tell me about you?' Magda asked.

"What's to tell that I'm allowed? Well... my name is Wolf, I'm thirty-one years old, and I'm the tracker and demolitionist for an elite special forces unit from Snake Eaters. I can't tell you much more than that. What about you?"

'I'm Princess Magda, I'm 19 and I am just a princess' she said shrugging.

'I was married to an old man for form an alliance, but he died, the country went into anarchy so I fled back home, that was when i was 15' she said.

'his death was a well worth assasination, I provided him with an heir' she said quietly.

Wolf's eyes were hard, and they had lost any hint of emotion that they had before,"A child should not have to go through such ordeals at such a young age... it is good that you came here"

she smiled.
'my mother wanted me to be a priestess, and I would marry a roman soldier, I didnt want that, i just wanted to be with a man who loved me, not an artificial love there just because of my parents' she said.

'thats why I want to stay and find someone, that will never happen I doubt it, everyone here is a lot older than me, and if they had found out what happened with the old king, they would chase me away' she said, her lip trembling.

she looked into Wolfs eyes, but they were hard and cold, she couldnt see deeper, there was a stone barrier stopping her.

'I hope you are right' she said smiling.

Wolf softened slightly,"You know I'm right"

'thanks...for the advice and all, I....where...hmmm' she said in a wondering manner.

'whats your real name?' she asked

Wolf laughed,"Would you believe I don't actually know? I'm an orphan, we all are in my unit. So, my true name is unknown"

'an orphan...oh...I'm sorry' she said blushing.

'would you want to meet your parents, given the chance?' she asked.

"It's alright, you don't need to worry about it. I was ten when the Helgahst attacked Snake Eater Prime, and laid waste to larege areas. I got seperated from my parents, and I never saw them again. I believe they are dead... it is something that takes time to get used to, but it can be overcome"

she smiled.
'and you've done a brilliant job' she said smiling.

You already met Mith, he's head of the Grey Class mages, the healers. All the masters are like that, and some are woman. All married to their work, in some form or another. What sort of person are you looking for though"

'Just a man who will look after me- thats all I want, i'm like any human, I just want loving, feeding and housing, like all humans?' she said smiling.

Wolf raised an eyebrow,"You need to live a little first my dear. If you settle down too early, I can safely say that you would regret it for the rest of your days. Tell me, what is the name of this man who you met, I'm sure we could track him down"

'he was called Michael, thats all I know' she said.

'I have already travelled the world a few times, experienced many nice and horrible things, i dont know..I guess I want a man whose adventurous' she replied.

I have travelled the lenght and bredth of the galaxy in my job, and seen many things... an adventrous man is easy enough to find

Magda giggled.
'Yeah....do...you have horses here?' she asked,
'Its just I am a very keen horsewoman, after coming back from the anarchist country, I became a big name in my country' she said.

I don't know if they have horses here, it is my first time in the nation. I am here as a bodyguard for Lord Barbarossa. But, I am sure that the Princesses could aid us

'Thanks Wolf, I am tired, what do you need to do?' she asked.

'alright' she said getting up, straightening her beautiful white dress.

IC: Wolf was wearing a long, wine red, strapless gown. On her feet were a pair of heels, which she wore with some dissatisfaction, being more comfortable in military issue boots than heels, something which was a running joke in the unit, one that she had fostered,"Where did you get your gown?"

'Its my overseas gown, it was made by the head seamstress back in Serafima, she is probably dead now' she said.

'I would have thought you would have worn boots and combats' Magda giggled.

'But I suppose for formal occasions...' she trailed off.

Yes, I would have worn my dress uniform, but having two uniformed members of one team would be too much of a target, so *gestures*Here I am

'The only time I wear trousers is when i ride, I never seem to be out of a dress or skirt' she said rolling her eyes.

Trousers are much better... not as revealing... unless you want to be that way, in which case they are perfect

'hmmm...well...I dunno...i find dresses are more flattering, but...never mind' she said.

Wolf laughed,"They can be flattering, if made well. Come then, we shall walk back."

She began leading Magda back towards the main hall, then asked,"If you want, I can get you a room close to mine, or I can try at the very least. Would you want that?"

'yes please' Magda said wide eyed.

'..if you dont mind me being near you?' she asked.

Wolf laughed again,"I offered didn't I? It'd be nice to have some female company for a change"

'Yeah, i bet it would' she said, she followed Wolf into the building.

I know I would be willing to offer her a safe place, plus there are plenty of young human men in my country who would be very flattered to have a pretty young woman like Magda as a friend at the very least, and who knows what might develop?

Anna was still in the entry room (which was, to be fair, larger than most people's house) when Magda and Wolf returned.

Magda stood quietly still in her beautiful white dress, she watched the two women talk.

"As of this moment, that is not in my power, and she would have to request it for herself, rather than going through an intermediary. I will have that power after I have been crowned...but I will want to hear the details of the strife she fled from, and of her flight."

Wolf nodded her agreement,"I understand. May I request that she be given a room close to my own, at the very least?"

"That is not difficult...all guests are in the same wing...I can move her room to your level, though."

Magda sat down scrumpling her dress, she could feel herself burning up, she started to feel anxious and sick again.

Wolf bowed slightly,"Many thanks to you, your Highness*To Magda* You'll have to wait until after the coronation, but I believe you may have a good chance"

'thanks Wolf' she said smiling widely hugging her.
'I'm most grateful' she said, looking a little pale.

Wolf smiled back,"It's nothing. Seriously"

Anna guestured, and a short while later a servant appeared beside Magda, bowed, and handed her a slip of paper with directions to her new room on them (the directions are written in her native tongue).

Magda smiled and bowed to the prospective queen, she followed Wolf and took her belongings with her.

Wolf made sure Magda was settled in, before going to see Cougar, who was on a balcony,"What you doing out here?"

C -- You know I don't like crowds

W -- You're missing the party

C -- There'll be a bigger one tomorrow, and I'll attend then. Barbarossa has been quarantined until further notice, so currently it's all good

W -- What you staring at?

C -- *Gestures*Somewhere out there is home. And perhaps Rhenna, but I don't now where she is at the moment

W -- Work?

C -- That's what I understand.

W -- Missing her?

Wolf hugged her old friend,"It's not that long, can't you survive for a week without her?"
He laughed, and then said,"I'll survive... been through worse"

Magda went down and outside into the beautiful gardens, how she longed for someone to be with.

There was a figure out there, cloaked and masked in red. For his/her? own entertainment, s/he? was making patterns in the air, using fire as his/her? medium. Blues, greens, purples and reds swirled about each other in an enchanting display of skill.

OOC: can Magda see this person?
